Also, while the Joro spiders are new in town, there's another species of golden orb weaver in the same genus (Trichonephila clavipes) that's a similar size, has similar habits, and is native to the Americas. The giant spiders have been here the whole time, but since the whole reason they're so big is because they make big webs that stretch between trees, they mostly live in the woods and mind their own business. I saw them a few times at summer camp when I was a kid, and my experience was that they're actually some of the least alarming spiders to encounter if you're easily startled by them, because they're so big and colorful that they're pretty easy to spot hanging out, and therefore easy to avoid. Even if joros do move into your area, you're almost certainly not going to be seeing them skittering across your bathroom floor in the middle of the night.

Fishuary Day #06 - Plecostomus! I'm a day late but I was really looking forward to this prompt, since I used to own a Common Pleco growing up, he was my favorite fish and I still miss him. Hopefully he is getting lots of yummy algae in the great big blue of the fish afterlife 💙🌊

These are the two best pictures I have of Spider-Fish, the Plecostomus I had growing up. He lived a long and happy life in a very big tank with many friends and lots of yummy wafers.

There was a massive spider in my room. I squashed it (don't @ me - if they're outside I leave them be because that's their world, but if they invade my territory they get what's coming to them), but now I'm scared there's more and I can't sleep 😨

Once in my early teens, I visited some extended family in a region a little to the south of the Endless Mountains. It was during the Unovan Independence holiday, and my siblings and I were running around barefoot in the grass with water balloons. I felt a sharp pain in my left calf, looked down, didn't see anything, and went back to playing. The next day I couldn't walk my leg was so swollen, so my parents rushed me to the hospital. Apparently that region has a native Pokémon similar to an Ariados, but it's venom is necrotic. I spent the rest of the summer unable to do anything except lay with my leg elevated and take medication to prevent the necrosis from spreading. Fortunately we caught it quickly, because I could have lost my whole leg. Instead, I have a huge dent where the venom ate through my leg muscle.

bath and body works repackaged one of their seasonal vampire blood candle in spider-themed packaging for some reason this year and the bg3 brainrot took over my body in an instant. I already have this candle i bought it last year for also bg3 brainrot reasons but then they go and package it with spiders and webs?? while I'm shipping my DROW with astarion??

anyway i have my silly bg3 ship candle and a silly spider soap bottle holder that makes noise when you use the soap (which is last year's vampire blood bottle so this is also ship themed) now lmao

One of my favorite headcanons (I say that about all of my LH headcanons so sorry) is that Danny is a HUGE spider fan, especially tarantulas. It’s just so silly to me. Like he looks like a guy who would own like. A dog or something and then he’s like “DO do you want to meet. Mittens???” and he’s all giddy and excited and clearly full of all the love in the universe for what you must assume is like. A cat. And then he runs off and comes back with a fucking pink toe tarantula. That’s his little princess!!!
