THE TERROR ▸ 1.10 we are gone

crozier and lady silence arrive at the numbing site of the expedition’s last camp and biggest die-off. trash piles and ash pits are scattered around and at least ten broken-down tents full of bodies stand. as crozier moves from tent to tent to count the dead, lady silence discovers a fire pit where there are bones. not fallen bones, but hacked-up bones. human bones. there are a few fire-blackened boots there with elements of meat inside them. a cook pot stands with the same grim, tallowy contents.

I'd also like to point out something important - Peach is not narrating this part to Luigi and the others. Make of that as you will.

I really like the idea of Koopa's eyes changing when they're feeling an extreme emotion. Technically we already saw this once before...

Was out for the last day of deer season with my dad and we stumbled across a carcass dump site. It was all does and cows (moose) and I just... I felt so bad that these beauties are seen as lesser because they don't have antlers. So I picked up some of the most intact ones and brought them home. I want to clean them up and let them have another chance to be admired, even in death.

Happy birthday to Dr Retro! anyways I had fun with today's goretober. Listening to Masochism Tango for an hour on repeat does things to your brain

Went to the fracture clinic today, hoping I was going to get rid of the sling. That's not what happened. I get to keep the sling for another 4 weeks 😭.

I'm struggling with this idea. Like, is it the worst thing to happen ever? No. I will recover and it will be fine. But also, I wanna be doing stuff again. Even little baby stuff.

some sea otters have purple bones! some sea otters like to eat purple sea urchins so much and they eat so many that it stains their teeth and bones purple! usually it's just a few teeth, but sometimes it's their entire skeleton. this is called echinochrome staining, and sometimes eating too many carrots can cause a similar effect in humans.
