#TROPED: t100
Text
Tumblr media
We’re back, witches! It’s time to get ready for TROPED’s fourth annual Halloween Fanfic Challenge and the first Horror Trope Exchange! For this dual event of our TROPED: The Fanfic Writing Challenge, you can select the tropes you want to write and create the horror fic of your dreams or you can have someone else create a horror fic for you and you will write one for someone else (or you can do both, if you're feeling particularly daring)!!
How It Works: TROPED Choice Horror!
The first part of the event will be structured the same as previous Choice Events: tropes and theme list will be released, three weeks to write, three (3) days to vote; one quick round, done and done!
It’s a Multifandom Event! Write from any fandom you’d like! All Fandoms are welcome and there is no minimum participation required for this event! And no sign-ups necessary!
Choose a Theme for your fic from our list of Horror-centric themes! Ghost stories, urban legends, slasher fics, or mystery thrillers, you name it, we wanna see it! But, if Horror isn’t your thing, these fics do not have to be scary (“horror” just sounds better than “halloween”)! Any and all Halloween-themed fics are also welcome here! While we are definitely encouraging scary, spooky, horror style fics, any fic with a general Halloween theme that follows our guidelines and tropes would work great, from a slasher flick inspired horror fic to a soft and fluffy trick-o’-treating kid fic!
Choose four (4) Tropes for your fic from our list of tropes! (You can, of course, choose more than four, but only the first four tropes you list will be included for voting). For this challenge, at least one of your four tropes must be a ‘Horror’ trope, which are in a separate list from the other tropes.
Write your fic in 10,000 words or less! You will upload your fic anonymously to the AO3 Collection linked below. Make sure you put what your theme is and what tropes you used in your fic summary, or in the notes at the TOP of your fic, so we can keep our eyes peeled for them as we read them! (If you are worried the tropes/themes will spoil your fic, you may put them in the notes at the bottom, but please let us know at the top if you choose to do so, and be sure that all of your tropes and themes are in the same place!)
This event will be Optionally Anonymous! Because we want this event to be much more chill, and the writing period will be open for the month, we will not require this event to be anonymous! However, if you would like to have your fic be anonymous, we will be sharing a small tutorial on how to make your fics anonymous and how to remove them from being anonymous sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
Read and Review! Once you’ve submitted your own fic, take a look at the others in the competition! Please try to read as many as you can! Take some notes, leave some kudos/comments for the authors, and help us vote on the winners! This is not a requirement for participation, but it is highly encouraged and helps make TROPED build a strong community!
Community Voting! The voting for this event will be pretty simple! We will keep a list of all fics submitted for each event, and then at the end there will be a voting poll! Voting will be based on the use of your chosen theme, your combined use of all four chosen tropes, the combined use of your theme + your tropes, and bonus polls, most unique pairing (which will count for both platonic and romantic pairings), best scary story, and best use of Halloween! The voting will be based on the fics as a whole, and will include all fandoms together! If you do not want your fic included in the voting, you can let us know, or you can simply upload your fic to our non-anon collection instead! We will still share it along with the other fics and it will be included in all masterlists! We will provide a link when voting begins.
How It Works: TROPED Horror Trope Exchange!
The second part of this event, TROPED: Horror Trope Exchange, is a double blind fanfic exchange, meaning you won’t know who you’re writing for, or who is writing for you! Here’s how it works:
It’s a The 100 Fandom Exchange Only!
Take a look at our Horror Trope list and pick four (4) tropes that you’d like to be included in your gift!! Remember, this event is double blind!! This is to help preserve that truly quintessential TROPED experience, where any writer can take the tropes and make something unique and surprising! Because of this, you wont be able to reach out to your recipient for any more info, and that means what you give your writer is all they have to go on, so try to be clear! If there is something you really want, or really don’t want, make sure to tell them during this stage of the exchange!
Sign Up & Keep Your Ask Box Open! After the sign-up period is over, we will match up all the assignments as best we can, and then we will deliver them to your ask box before the writing period begins! Please be sure to have your ask box open, and please be sure not to post the ask you receive, so it can be kept anonymous.
Write your fic! You will have about three weeks to write a fic that includes you given tropes, and fits into our holiday theme. You will upload your fic to the AO3 Collection linked below. Make sure you put what tropes you were assigned in your fic summary, or in the notes at the TOP of your fic, so we can keep our eyes peeled for them as we read them! (If you are worried the tropes will spoil your fic, you may put them in the notes at the bottom, but please let us know at the top if you choose to do so, and be sure that all of your tropes are in the same place!)
Upload your fic to the TROPED Horror Trope Exchange AO3 Collection only! Fics are due on Monday, October 30th at 12:00pm EST!!! Please be sure to have them in on time, because we will be reviewing them to make sure all your tropes are included! This AO3 collection is unrevealed, which means once your fic is submitted, you won’t be able to see it until we reveal them! If you’re worried about whether we received it or not, you can always DM us to ask!
Happy Halloween! Sit back and relax, we will reveal all the fics on Tuesday, October 31st!!!

RULES:
If you are a veteran to our TROPED Challenges, the rules for this Challenge are mostly the same as before, but any newbies joining the fun should definitely take a look at our full TROPED RULES!
For TROPED Choice: Horror 4.0, the Word Count is 10k or less, Ratings G through E are allowed, but No Smut, and All Fandoms are welcome to participate!
For TROPED Horror Trope Exchange, there is no maximum Word Count, but your fics must be at least 2,500 words! All Ratings G through E are welcome (We will be asking a question during sign-ups about whether you'd be comfortable writing or receiving smut. If your recipient is not comfortable receiving smut, please keep to M ratings or below). Sign-ups are required in advance! This is for The 100 Fandom only!
This event was created to help get creative and different fics out into the world, and to create a fun, positive fandom experience for everyone! In order to ensure that we achieve that goal of a positive experience, we reserve the right to disqualify anyone if we are reading and we think it violates any of our rules.
If you have any questions or concerns please send an Ask or DM a Mod ( @thelittlefanpire or @dylanobrienisbatman )!

WIP Thoughts + Updates
I did some serious cocooning, mental health care work in January (obviously still going on but that was my main focus last month) so I've been finally emerging out of all of that. I've also been writing more (!!) but I also feel like I've made zero progress on things? Which isn't actually true. So this post is a catch-up post in general, plus just a personal reminder to myself to relax and step back to look at what I've been working on!
Bellarke, Rock & Religion + Florida Gothic AU (New WIP, multi-chapter)
The first chapter might almost be done?? Which feels wild to type out but it really might be. I do think this is a story that would benefit from me writing ahead at least a little bit as I go though. The moodboard I shared earlier for the planning remains the same! I will make sure to go back and inject some more moodiness into it, right now the characters are running amok on their own to get their personalities fleshed out and I don't want to interrupt that. So we'll see how far I can get with it but I'm digging it so far!
Hellcheer, Kas!Eddie + Haunting AU (New WIP, ideally a oneshot)
This little thing started out as a song-inspired AU and is quickly spiraling out of control lol. But I'm determined to ride it out, let it be completely indulgent. It's going to have alive!Chrissy and demon/Kas!Eddie, which is a trope I've never really looked at before but it feels right for this. It's going to have some body horror and like, fucked up guardian angel vibes. I'm really loving it, but it's turning out definitely weird and experimental so we'll see how it goes. The important thing is I'm obsessed with it!
Drabble/Collection Updates (Six of Crows Whump Collection + t100 Crackling Fires Collection)
SoC Whump AUs: I've started writing four more of them, with five concepts being prepped. I really enjoy whump but it's definitely had to get into the mood for it at times. Slowly but surely! Crackling Fires: I have four prompts started, at least in outline form! But I'm definitely having to practice reining myself in and not making them too elaborate. I think I need to go back and tweak some of them to be more "scene" focused, rather than "story focused" (can you tell I only ever write long things?)
I've also recently posted a new WIP to my 🌶️ account, so obviously not really getting into that here. But that second chapter is in the works! And I honestly need to just acknowledge it here because it does count as writing, even if it's not something I talk about over here. My time loop AU is paused though, I'm not sure if I like it anymore so it needs to ruminate some I think.
Excited to keep chipping away at these, plus I think I'll be ready soon to get back to some old WIPs as well! I think probably starting with either the dystopian mythology AU or the medieval fantasy one.

everyone remembers the fullscale assault on the cw after lexa’s death on t100 right? and how monumental the impact was following it? how we see fewer bury-your-gays in large part because of how swift and ferocious the response was?
i’m just saying, netflix and media as a whole is, at this point, creating a new trope in queer and especially wlw media. we aren’t burying our gays, we’re just voiding them
sure would suck for them if we did a similar large-scale collection of boycotts, campaigns etc centered around the mass cancellation of every show
and it’s a relevant time for it. warrior nun was cancelled despite topping lists for weeks.

December 31: WIPs and Ideas I'm Taking Into 2023
As the year is ending, I am considering what writing projects I will try to complete next year. Will 2023 be the year I finish my WIPs? Will it at least be the year I let go of WIPs I don't care about? We'll see.
Here are (most of) my current projects and ideas--T100 only because I don't feel brave enough to even address Star Trek or other fandoms. Let's see where I am at the end of 2023.
devil's gonna get me one of these days: Southern Gothic AU; ensemble and multi-pairing; vampires, ghosts, and secrets
Troped Madness Horror Round: Harper-centric, epistolary/found footage-y
Talk About Timing in Times Like These: Bellarke, Modern AU, exes to lovers, heavy on the bitterness
And They Lived: aka the Ark Sleeping Beauty AU, Bellarke with a lot of other stuff going on
A Watch With No Hands: parts 3 and 4, the continuation of my 2019 Bellarke Big Bang, Grounder Clarke, Arker Bellamy, canon divergence
The Poly Fic: endgame Bravenlarke, modern AU, what it says on the tin
Can't Be King of the World: aka my long (long) percolating Ark AU, ensemble and multi-pairing with a lot of Wells
Sky Village: canon-divergence with rare pairs, independent delinquent village feels
Blake Siblings Summer AU: ...this is a Pete & Pete AU, if I'm brave enough to write it
Slow Summer Vibes: one step up from a PWP, Bellarke in the heat of summer
Under the Western Stars: more Bellarke modern AU angst nonsense
Kiss the Ring: canon-divergent Becho, in which they are both brutal, ruthless leaders
Jonty Dual Timeline: part modern AU, part canon-divergence, heavily S3 inspired
Sequel to How I'll Spend Through Winter: more Bellarke UST and longing, this time in high school, some Princess Mechanic
Bellarke Bingo Love Potion: Bellamy runs an antique store. Clarke takes a love potion. There's magic involved.
Dawson's Creek AU: endgame Bellarke and Murven, and in the meantime, a faithful AU for no reason at all
Documentary History of the U.S.S.S Arkadia: expanded version of my Braven fic of the same name
Reality Bites AU: as it says; Bellarke
Dollhouse AU: also as it says, ensemble/Bellarke, Bellamy as Echo and Clarke as Ballard...sort of
autumnverse fic: eternal-autumn type universe with ghosts!
oh well you've got me under your spell: an old Bellarke HS AU I always wanted to continue
Bellarke Bingo Blast: trope-heavy Bellarke friends to lovers; embarrassing how many modern AUs are on this list
South: Murven road trip that I started ages ago and might continue?
Everyone Gets Married: mostly Jonty with some Bellarke, sappy romance stuff and perhaps some talk about the concept of marriage
Bellarke Beat AU: this is from 2016, enough said
Maya & Octavia Troped: canon-divergence, post S2
Miller/Bryan Troped: canon-divergence, sometime in S3; more a universe than a plot but like an exes thing
Bellarke Invents Soulmates: triple-timeline, reincarnation and soulmates (former Troped round)
Miller/Bellamy Road Trip: but also they're on the run from the law, danger and UST
T100 + 3% Fusion: Princess Mechanic; 3%-like plot but in T100's universe
Fantasy Heist: delinquents on a magical hunt to save one of their own, still working out the kinks on the universe. And the plot (former Troped round)
Kane/Luna Ark AU: exes and magic and hints of political intrigue perhaps; horror
Slasher: half-baked old Troped Horror idea, heavy on the tropes, and I suppose on the bloodshed
Camping Trip Meta Horror: some horror tropes in the woods
Tropical Horror: something about this island isn't right
Troped Horror 2022: the fic I didn't finish because I thought it was going in a bad direction. Only hints: another slasher, Octavia-centric
Party Fic: Indulgent, stylized, multi-pairing HS AU
Modern Band AU: Bellarke and other pairings, rival bands, minor genre/form experimentation
...I didn't specify but some of these are one-shots and some multi-chapters and if a multi-chap isn't started, I can only promise to start, not finish it in 2023

Fic questions: 14 & 17
14: Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer?
Oh yeah, definitely (well, or if I'm desperate for more fic about my ship, but that's between me and my AO3 history). Fics where one or both of my fav pairing dies…fics with a main character who's an OC (idk I'm just…weirdly hyper-sensitive to them?)…schmoopy Hallmark Christmas fic… anything that has a strong possibility of pressing my embarrassment squick and I want to know the payoff will be worthwhile, or any fic that I know is going to stab me in the heart and I want to be sure the writer is using only the finest-quality surgical instrument to do it.
17: What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?
Ohhhh, hah! I think there's always going to be one other person who will appreciate it, aside from maybe my Pangur Bán/t100 crossover, if only bc I find it hard to keep going in a fandom without at least one other person to bounce off of. Sometimes it's a sort of baffled, 'okay yeah I ship these characters too, even though I have NO IDEA why you are doing this with them' appreciation, though!
But – okay, generally it's the really specific, niche crossover AUs that I want to write, based on other things that the actors in my ships have been in. idk, I just really enjoy mixing two things together, it's so much more vivid to me. Oh, I really want to write the one with David Castañeda's dumbass actor character from the short films he's made with his pal Matt Law, crossed over with Ritu Arya's look from when she played an alien in Doctor Who (I've not seen the actual episode so I'm just making that one up from photos). That just really appeals to me. They're so entirely different, and there's no good reason they should hit it off, except that I want them to. XD
Thank you!

You're the only one who makes me
A Wellven Royalty Winter Romance, written as a gift for @andthelightbulbclicks for the @troped-fanfic-challenge Holiday Gift Exchange! [Rated T] [7.6k]
Princess Raven of Sky Mountain has been searching for a match for a long time. She had rebelled, of course, but she was ready now, to try to find the right heir to marry. A promise to her father, one that she intends to keep, no matter how difficult it had proven to be. How was it possible that every suitor was someone less interesting than the last?
Maybe getting lost in a blizzard was just what she needed to solve all of her troubles.
Moodboard by @thelittlefanpire
---
Her corset pinched at the skin on her back. Her ribs itched. The lace on her sleeve kept catching, leaving unappealing strings dangling from her wrists. The room was sticky and hot. Her shoes were pinching her toes. The pins in her hair were beginning to give her a headache. Really, she was uncomfortable in every way, and her thoughts were a rotating wheel of complaints.
She didn’t utter a single one aloud.
Raven Reyes was the ever reluctant Princess of Sky Mountain. She was used to standing up straight and keeping her irritation to herself, or at least, not verbalizing it. She could ask the right questions and curtsy just so and she knew every step to at least 15 dances. She spoke three languages and knew poems in five. But that didn’t mean she enjoyed it.
Her fingers itched for the coal burning engine she was building in her bedroom upstairs. She could think of at least three different ways she could be making it work more efficiently as she sat and pretended to be listening to the Duke of the Flower Valley droning on about his country’s glass production.
She wondered if she could find a way to make Sky Mountain a more efficient means of glass production. That would show him.
This party, like every single party she had ever attended, was a waste of her time.
She peered down the table at her father, the King Jacapo of Sky Mountain. He had been watching her, a bemused expression on his face. She shot him a glare and he just shook his head, and glanced over at the Duke. Be Polite, he seemed to say. She resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at him.
Raven was the only daughter of King Jacapo, and she was his heir. The marriage between the future Queen of Skuy Mountain and any son of any monarch was the most sought after alliance in all of Prymfya, and so she sat, and she was polite, and she waited for the day someone sent her an heir worth listening to.
So far, that day had not come.
When Raven was a little girl, her father had made her a promise. So long as she chose someone who was an heir to their own throne, she could marry whomever she pleased. Her marriage, as long as it was proper, was her choice. She had rebelled, of course. As a teenager she had fallen for a stable boy, and had sworn to her father she would run away with him. She had flirted incessantly with a third son of a Duke during the spring courting season of her 22nd year, but he had merely been to irritate her father after he refused to allow her to ride the motorized bicycle she had built. (He caved, and she got a broken clavicle for all her trouble… It had been worth it.) But eventually, she had seen the error of her ways. She had watched as the other young princesses in her circle were married off to the highest bidder, old men and gross men, men with dozens of illegitimate children and mistresses they kept in their homes, and suddenly the immense gift her father had given her became apparent.
She was 27 this year, and was finally ready to seriously consider a suitor. Of course, that meant there hadn’t been a single man worth considering. A parade of princes and duchesses and even a queen from some far off land had made their way to her fathers court, and each one of them had been duller than the last. So far, this evening was shaping up to be much the same.
When the night finally closed, and the last stragglers who had long overstayed their welcome were heaved into their carriages, she straddled over her window, letting one leg hang out into the cold night air, and leaned back against the frame. Nights like this made her wonder if her father should have simply chosen for her, picked a respectable man with a worthy family and good character and sent her off. It would certainly be easier than this, than spending her nights wondering if this might be the most interesting suitor she would ever meet, if this might be it and if she should just agree to marry him because what if the next was worse? She looked out over the foggy moors of her father’s palace, a night sky filled with the swirls of galaxies far away, a heavy cloud cover rolling in from the east, and wondered if her father would have been better off.
The sun cut through the heavy cloud cover as the morning broke and Raven was itching to be anywhere but in her room, stewing. She dressed quickly, grabbing a slice of warm bread and an apple from the kitchen on her way out to the stables, speaking to almost no one aside from the cook, who always kissed her on the cheek and tucked her hair behind her ears and told her she should eat a little more.
The brisk cold bit at her skin leaving pink on her cheeks, invigorating her in the early morning. She made her way out into the stables and saddled her favourite horse, at the protestation of the stable hand. As she led her white mare out into the cold, she felt the world start to quiet. A long ride on her own, nothing to distract her, no one to talk about unimportant nothing in her ears. It sounded like exactly what she needed.
The ride out was perfect, the brisk winter wind became stinging and skin numbing, her hair tangling in the wind. About an hour and a half out, though, the winter clouds took over the skies and the snow began to fall, first in soft flurries but quickly turning into heavy icy snow. Sooner than she expected she could barely see in front of her horse’s nose. She turned around, trying her best to fully about face to go back the way she came, but her horse reared back, seeing the tree in front of them only seconds before she did. She held tight to the reins, barely avoiding getting thrown from her saddle, and the edges of her senses started to notice the panic she was feeling. She took a deep breath, and then another, but it did nothing to stop her racing heart.
She had heard stories, stable hands and other servants getting lost in the blizzards that ravaged her kingdom. Sometimes they made it back, fingers and noses blackened with frostbite. Other times they were found frozen out in the packed snow, or worse, found in the spring when the last of the snow had melted away. She pushed the image of her frozen corpse emerging from the frostbitten woods, and took another deep breath.
She stepped down off her horse, and tied her to the tree. A stable, sturdy post in the swirl of white around her. Next, she unraveled the blanket from the side of the saddle, finding the cold weather leg wrappings she had stuffed inside and wrapping them up. She slung the blanket over her mare’s neck, covering her ears, and then stepped under her neck, using her as a shield from the snow. She closed her eyes, and tried to think.
She remembered seeing a shack a little while back, but there was no way she could find her way back if she couldn’t see 2 inches in front of her face. She certainly wouldn’t be able to make it all the way back to the palace. She swore, but the sound of her voice was lost in the wind before it reached her ears. She sunk into the snow on the ground, packing it around her feet and pulling her knees up to her chest trying her best to keep her body warm.
She wasn’t sure how long she sat there, her ears numb and her fingers tingling, before a light pierced the swirling white of the storm. A rider on a black horse emerged, and Raven did something arguably very stupid. She ran out in front of him, waving her arms frantically. Thankfully, his horse saw her much the same way her mare had seen the tree and came to a rearing stop.  His rider was less than pleased.
“You could have thrown me off my horse!” he yelled, barely piercing through the roaring wind.
“I’m so sorry, I’ve been lost out here, I’m not even sure how long. I need help finding- I need help.” Best not to tell a strange man in the middle of the woods who she was, no matter how nice his cloak was, or how well groomed his snow covered horse. “Please, I don’t mean to slow you down on your travels, but there is no telling how long this storm will go on and I-”
He raised a hand to cut her off and she watched as his shoulders sagged in acceptance.
“Get on your horse,” He yelled, and led his horse close to her and tying their bridles together, “I saw a big barn not far off the road, back the way I came. I think if we keep out of the trees and on the raised path we should be able to find it.”

a trope I apparently can’t get enough of is “person A puts their life in the hands of person B to force their hand, having the outmost confidence they’re loved back and person B will choose them, and it pays off”.

You DO REALISE your theory for Lexa coming back is so on point it SHOULD happen??
There’s lots of ways they could do it. They haven’t though, because taking a character who gave us “death is not the end” and introduced us to technology allowing her to live on (without a body), then building themes of reincarnation and rebirth and “time travel” into subsequent seasons isn’t how you write a satisfying, cathartic ending to a show.
It’s how you introduce a disposable plot device that others benefit from.

April 5: Evaluating WIP Big Bang Choices
Sign-ups for WIP Big Bang have started but I've been too distracted with Troped Madness to really think about it. I'm leaning toward signing up but not pairing with an artist, mostly because I doubt there will be anyone else from T100 doing this, and I just don't want to have to worry about it or feel like anyone is obligated to make anything for me, etc. It's also not really that important to me that I'm paired with an artist for this. I just want, like, some kinda structure for finishing these things. I like signing up for events. I liked watching people brag at the end of the last round. I continue to be of the naive mistake that THIS event or THIS particular structure will fix me. So. I want to sign up for those reasons, but if I don't finish--eh, it won't put anyone else out to drop out.
So I think there's no downside to signing up.
As to with what... I looked through my fics and didn't find that many that fit the requirements, surprisingly: 500+ words written and at least 7,500 to finish. This is probably because I call something a "WIP" even if I only have a few vague notes for it lol.
In my poll-experiment, the Southern Gothic AU won, which is not surprising to me, since it's the one I talk about the most often and have talked about the most recently. Sleeping Beauty came in second, and my other 2 options, Troped Horror 2022and Troped Madness Horror Round, were last. Probably how I would rank them as a reader, myself, especially with how vague I've been about them.
Here are my thoughts on each, and their respective pros/cons.
Southern Gothic: The pros are that I'm very invested in this story, I think it is/could be one of the best thing I've ever written, and I could definitely use a kick to actually finish it. At this point, I've moved from putting off writing to putting off planning to putting off thinking about planning and I always have so many excuses about it. I'm pretty overwhelmed both by the expectations I've set for it and the still-semi-scattered notes etc. on it. Never mind the sheer number of words still left. In particular, I'm scared that I lost my chance to finish this, that it was of a certain time and now it's just... too late.
The con is that I would want to post it closer to Halloween and posting for the Big Bang ends on October 31, with non-extension posting ending in mid-October. I guess if I picked one of the last dates, it would be still decidedly spooky season? Idk if this is a really lame excuse to put this off again.
Sleeping Beauty: The pros are, again, I need the stupid push because I wanted to resurrect and finish this in, like, late 2020 and STILL have not. I did some significant work in May 2021 and then it fizzled again. I don't have that much to write--almost certainly more than 7.5k, but not a lot compared to the total word count and I just... refuse to consider this functionally abandoned fic to be abandoned because that would mean trashing so much work that I haven't even shared with anyone. But again, it's just never more important than other stuff.
The con is that I don't like this fic as much as SGAU and if I had to pick one to see completed, it would be SGAU.
Troped Madness Horror Round: The pros of this is that, even though I do think I have more than 7.5k left, this fic is much shorter and simpler than the first two. It's not even multi-chap. So it feels like maybe a more do-able goal? On the other hand, still a worthwhile one, because I am really overwhelmed by it and what I want it to be so, again, having a structured event to help force me to make it a priority might be helpful.
The con is that I have a better chance of working on/finishing this without the Big Bang so perhaps I should put that effort somewhere else.
Troped Horror 2022: This is, appropriately given the poll, the exact same situation. This fic is easier than Madness Horror in that it's much more... plot-y and less concerned with trying to explore a theme and actually say something meaningful. The main twist/difficulty with it is that I think it is the rare fic where I need to scrap huge chunks, possibly everything, that I have already written and re-plot, re-write. I realized at some point while I was frantically scribbling that it didn't make sense or feel right and I should have made a different choice way earlier. And at that point, I didn't have the time to re-write it for the event so I just put it aside to think on some more.
This one is probably the weakest contender for the Big Bang because the work is really more in the planning and outlining, and I think when I get to writing, it won't be as hard. Writing the first version was easy and fun. It was just WHAT I was writing that I didn't like. I do need a certain amount of set time and energy to get back into this but when I do, I don't know that I'll need an event structure to help me, and I'm also... not in as much of a hurry about it as I am with the other three.

I am choosing to believe the whole thing was Clarke’s damn dream. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS SHOT?! Or maybe I just misinterpreted.
