Princess Tiana is the best princess solely because she turned a hoe into a housewife. Like I bet you once Naveen learns to do more than mince he’s gonna be the one welcoming her home from a hard day at the restaurant with some not so perfect but still tasty dish like “Welcome home my beloved ! I know you had a hard day, let me fix your plate and run you a bath”

Like he still helps her run the restaurant on some days when it’s really busy and plays live music on the weekends but I like to think that Naveen stays home and is the home maker. Like he goes grocery shopping, cleans the house, gossips with the neighborhood ladies, makes dinner, and he actually enjoys it. Like he likes keeping his hands busy. And Tiana tries to help him because he does so much now but he’s like “You’re in charge of the kitchen at the palace, I��m in charge of the kitchen at home, you’ve had a long day, please sit” because he’ll be damned if his wife lifts a finger after a hard day of work, especially when she’s been working her whole life

And his parents are in awe when they visit him because Naveen refused to even lift a finger and now he’s busying himself like

“I have to figure out dinner before Tiana comes home, I have to get arugula and- oh and blueberries for dessert ! She liked that blueberry tart we had on our anniversary maybe I can recreate it-“

And he’s wearing an apron and they’re just so impressed by how much he’s changed and how far he’s come.

Villains inspired by Cab Calloway my beloved:

Like honestly, these villains have the most entertaining personalities and gimmicks/themes I've seen.

I love how even though they share the same inspiration, they each have unique character designs.

Note Oogie is the oldest villain here, so when you think about it, he's like the blueprint for Dr. Facilier and King Dice.

(I mean they literally took two pieces of the theming from Oogie and split it amongst King Dice and Dr. Facilier)

Dude was so good at being bad, he set the bar in the little 15 minutes of screen time he had.

People complain about how woke everything is, blackwashing and how white people are being erased

But I’ve bet they never had to pretend a princess with a slight tan was black. Like as a kid I used to claim to my hearts content that Princess Jasmine was black because I was desperate to have a princess that looked like me because there were no black princesses.

Then my mom had be watch Happily Ever After Fairy Tales for every child when I was about 5 to 6 and I fell in love with it because these were the stories Disney were telling but with princesses that looked like me.

Then when I saw The Princess and The Frog trailer when I was 7 on TV I immediately bolted from my room screaming “Mama mama there’s a black Disney princess there’s a black Disney princess !” screaming and happy and I became obsessed with Tiana, going as her for Halloween, which was the first time I ever dressed as a princess for Halloween because I had 0 interest as dressing as a princess because none of them looked like me so I kinda brushed them aside. There was Kida from Atlantis but no one knew who she besides me since no one in my class watched Atlantis

I had a Tiana dress, Tiana dolls, watched the princess and the frog on repeat to the point when my dad got me an emergency flip phone, he downloaded all of the princess and the frog songs on that phone and I’d listen to them over and over and record myself singing the songs that I memorized, I had plans that I was going to name my future daughter Evangeline or Tiana or even Eudora and when my mom told me my family was from Louisiana I begged her to teach me our history and she even made gumbo from me after acquiring the family recipe, my dad got me the CD and my own little radio.

Tiana became my world and I still tear up when watching The Princess and The Frog.

And that’s why it kind of hurt when people were mocking little girls who were happy to see themselves in the remake of The Little Mermaid because that was my reaction when I found out about Tiana. Like do you hate black people that much that you mock little black girls for being happy to see themselves after you’ve been seeing yourself since 1937 but you still complain after you’ve been the majority for so long and still are the majority ? You complain even though it’s been 87 years and we still don’t even have a prince who’s black ?

IT'S BLACK HISTORY MONTH 🫶🏿

Time to remind you all of my fave movie owo AND my newest addition to my TPATF collection: Mama Odie! 🐍. She's so silly but also the smartest in the movie XD or maybe it's wisdom cause she's 197yo 🤔. I also enjoy the fact that she does voodoo but good voodoo, unlike the villain, thus showing that voodoo isn't the problem, it's Facilier and his friends ☠️
