Suddenly half-human
Danny was a full ghost hanging out in a random spot in the Zone when suddenly a rift in space tore open on top of him.
His very essence shifted as strange energies poured into him from a previously-unfathomable direction.
No longer pure ectoplasm. Something new, something living in a deeply foreign way.
A force suddenly pulled him to collide with cold, solid ground.
He felt different.
His whole body felt weighed down as if encased in thick rubber, preventing him from shapeshifting or even just floating up. Something thudded to life inside his chest, pumping a new fluid throughout his insides.
As he continued to lay there in shock, his chest began to burn.
Instincts he didn’t fully understood kicked in and his mouth flung open, gasping for breath. The burning subsided as his chest continued to heave.
What the hell? Since when did he need to breathe?
He heard three young, panicked voices from across the room. He flopped his head in their direction and took in their appearances semi-deliriously, still trying to pull his thoughts back together.
They were humans. Living, breathing humans. A tall redheaded girl, a boy in a beanie and glasses, and a girl in what he believed was referred to as “goth” clothes.
Wait… was he human now?
Awkwardly clambering to his feet, leaning against the wall of the strange tunnel for balance, he tried to give them a grin. It probably came out a bit more unhinged than he intended.
“So, uh, any idea what just happened?”

I am waiting for the train home after Saturday morning clinic and trying not to cry
I don’t think what my job wants me to do is safe or sustainable
I cannot be asked to see a patient every 5 minutes with the expectation I see them for at least 3 complaints each
That’s less than 2 minutes per illness
I’m expected to see a patient every 4 minutes starting July if you don’t count walking times
Totaling to ~70 patients a day
Today every patient was either actually a Karen or had 6 chronic conditions
Nobody was average
People getting pissed I told them they had to take their blood pressure for their blood pressure appointment today and pretending they didn’t know they had to do that even though they’ve been following up here for ten years
People demanding to see specialists they’re not indicated for
People having skipped appointments so their blood sugar control is through the roof
Sexist men yelling at me because I’m a female doctor
I drank one sip of water from 9 AM to 1 PM today and I already usually only pee during lunch on Monday to Friday
The government is stingy as hell and we don’t have some of the nicer meds the university districts do and is doctors get yelled at by patients who want them
Meanwhile our head of department says we should be happy and held a special meeting to tell us we’re all getting sick too often and that’s our fault
Meanwhile my closest friend in a similar doctor role as me in the department had repeated panic attacks at work and is quitting her job
Another friend has severe tinnitus and was punched by a patient
Other friends are also burnt out and getting complained about by patients because who wants to be seen for four minutes
At the same time as all this I have a dermatology diploma I’m doing and mid residency exams in august I haven’t had time to study for
I think I want to die
#don’t worry I’m not actually going to do anything I’m gonna go home and order myself pizza#you know maybe something is wrong with your department if doctors start discussing one touch open water bottles#the kind where it’s a slide top or the lid opens on a spring if you press a button#so you don’t have to waste time opening a screw-top bottle#if you want water#because 15 seconds is time we can’t waste#I didn’t have time to reach for my slide-top thermos this whole morning except once#one sip of water in four hours ok

been thinking recently about how i play games (in general but also a bit on the competitive side on some)
turns out i don't particularly care about winning, i just want to have fun, but obviously i do like winning i just try to do win by doing very stupid stuff
it's way more fun for everyone involved when you do things against the meta or common sense and end up winning anyways bc it's so weird that it takes others by surprise
#i like doing dumb things that only work bc they're dumb#so everyone just falls for it#hehe yes run into my very telegraphed move boy#also why i enjoy low tiers more so than top tiers in most cases#bc they're often not super explored so people aren't used to playing against them#so they have no idea what to expect from someone that takes weird ass characters seriously#maybe i should get back into mk8dx#and use a stupid combo like max speed or something#bc you can win with that if you know how to go about bagging#can't frontrun tho#i'll think about it#i just kinda quit that game bc it's just. so dumb it's such a bad game. sort of in a way#it's good it's just oddly designed. it's at least pretty well balanced all things considered#but i hate it bc of how you have to play the game if you wanna compete at higher level#same with smash ult kinda. i hate Hate how high level ult is played. it's so fucking slow and defensive bullshit#but there's some fun to be had in it if you do dumb stuff as i said#or if you have a character like ness that presses a bunch of buttons so you're always doing something#i like pressing a bunch of buttons :3#it's so much better than just standing there waiting for the other guy to do something like sonic waiting to spin dash or#steve mining with a wall between you#or g&w doing stupid things in general this bitch has too much air movility#also fuck mario (sometimes) he's such a fast character you can't do anything unless you have fast options or are patient enough to wait for#an opening. but fuck that i don't wanna wait around#i wanna run straight at you and hit you#before anyone says to play melee or pm. no#sorry it's a bad game too just in different ways. not bad bad but yknow#meteor cancel. shields that reflect projectiles. like 15 characters you can use if you're good enough otherwise you have like 5 you can use#out of the 26 in the game (not counting wireframes or giga bowser)#tho melee definitely has some better mechanics like wavedashing and run speed carrying over from jumps (not really a mechanic tho#since it can be changed on each character individually)

The other set of Vargases came over for a visit and Scriabin picked up Shmee and started talking to Scriabin through him. Very normal, very usual
I downloaded some circle-glasses recolours and hghghh they look so good! Closer every day to his final details! Getting ever closer!
Edgar too! I made him a custom hair with a lighter undercut - I’m mostly happy with it, probably could’ve shifted it a shade closer to his skintone but the texturing was weird no matter what :P And his stripey shirt! I wish Body Shop didn’t have that hands-on-hips pose lol, it looks so much better in-game, but that’s all the better :)
I got some new clothes for Todd as well! As soon as I saw this ‘fit I was like “Oh that’s 100% Todd there he is.” Scriadad hug ♥ So cute

The way he looks at them stoppp <3 <3 They kept doing this right up til they left for home haha, Todd’s giggles are the cutest

And I /have/ been working on a lot of Vargas-specific Sims 2 retextures so it's fine lol#These are still tests - as said up top lol - so these events are ''non canon'' to what will eventually be my actual Vargas family#The beats will be similar tho! You're all done'' it's just jdsflf Sims 2 my beloved <3 <3#I decided to cheat down the Casils' relationship with Todd before everything else - thus why his father is menacing him for the prank#I've seen Sims with not high enough friendship to not take a water balloon as a fun invitation but not between a parent and child!#It's subtle but the parent being mad and the kid cowering :( It's sadly appropriate for Todd#I stuck the Casils in a box to wait things out and they ended up glitching frozen in bed - they're effectively dead by Motive but can't move#So they can't die /or/ live - feels fitting#If you'd like to recreate CPS taking your child away without straight up torturing them! - Hunger. You just need hunger lol#Alternately you can also have them miss class if you'd prefer to feed them - both will result in being taken away after long enough#If I return to this save it's gonna be confusing since both Todds are identical and have the same names lol#I do have a bunch of new clothes! Second shopping trip :D#There's something oddly fitting for the Vargases to adopt twin/clones lol - fun shenaniganary until the Final Version comes to pass#Although now that I think of it I Could also give them a toddler!Todd hmmmmmm#It's an idea :)
