My hot take is that it should have been Rebecca, not Ted, who talked to Jamie about his father in 3x11. Here are my reasons:

1. So much of Rebecca's arc is about recovering from an abusive relationship while her abuser is still, somewhat unavoidably, part of her life. Her experience with Rupert and Jamie's experience with his father aren't identical, but she knows better than anyone else at Richmond how it feels to have someone like that turn up at her place of work, and how stressful their planned encounters are, even when they're just in the same large stadium and don't need to directly interact.

2. As the owner of the club, Rebecca almost certainly knows what happened at Wembley, and she's not only well-placed to make practical arrangements like getting James banned from the match (since none of them knew he wouldn't be there) but also, as of 3x10, has come to terms with with her relationship with Rupert — both the good parts and the many, many bad parts — in a way that enables her to interact with him when necessary without massive emotional distress, while also keeping very firm boundaries in place. Basically, she, unlike Ted, could offer advice based on relevant personal experience.

3. Jamie could finally find out that Ted didn't have him sent back to Man City — while it would be nice for Ted to say it, Rebecca is better placed to give the full story, and she and Jamie have a lot in common when it comes to expressing their hurt in a way that leaves a lot of collateral damage.

4. Explains why they're hugging in the finale.

WOPEZ:

Met in 1.10 "Flesh and Blood" and agree to go out by the end of the episode, by my timeline (1.01 being ~ March 2019 and 1.20 being 6 months later aka ~ September 2019), let's say this is June 2019 since its half way through the season

They break up briefly between 1.12 and are back together by 1.18, they fight in 1.20 but are firmly together by episode's end, again per my timeline this is approx. Sept 2019

They have moved in together as of 2.01 which is still ~ Sept 2019

Wesley is stabbed in 2.06 "Fallout" which we'll assume is Oct / Nov 2019

Wesley proposes - which Angela accepts - in 2.16 "The Overnight", as this is after DOD (09Dec2019) but before 2.20 (the rookies' "one month push") we can guess this is Jan or Feb 2020; they have been together for about 7-8 months total (including their breakup)

Wesley discovers Angela is pregnant in 3.01 "Consequences" by finding her pregnancy test, I'm going to assume Angela was between 3-7 weeks pregnant - wide range I know but I can't imagine her being any more far along than that and *not* have taken a test prior - here which is approx March 2020

Season 3 takes place over the course of two months since it begins right when the "one month push" begins, Lucy and Jackson graduate to P2 in 3.14 and Nolan becomes a P2 in 4.01 after completing his one month extension

This would mean that Wopez's first attempt at a wedding in 3.14 takes place in May 2020, they have been together for about 11 months; Angela is also kidnapped by La Fiera in this episode

Jackson "Jack" Lopex-Evers is born after the 3 month time jump that happens at the end of 4.01, putting his DOB in approx. Aug 2020

Wopez get married offscreen between 4.01 and 4.02 - which would still be Aug 2020, they have been together for just over a year

5.10 is apparently "2022" which per my timeline is Jan 2022

Tim and Isabel met as rookies, and Lucy states in 2.08 "Clean Cut" that Tim is a 12-year veteran; as S2 takes place from month 6 to month 12 of Lucy's rookie year, we can estimate that Tim and Isabel were together for about 11 years at the time of their divorce, if 2.08 takes place in Oct / Nov 2019 (it occurs between 2.01 which is approx. Sep 2019 and 2.11 which is established 09Dec2019), Tim and Isabel met (and were rookies in) 2007

We don't know what year Tim and Isabel were married

Based on the LAPD guidelines, rookies become P2s after their 13-month probationary period, become P3s after 3 years as a P2 - based on this Tim and Isabel would've reached this point in 2011

I can't remember where I saw it, but I believe to test out of P3, you need to have put in 1 year, and since Isabel was a UC in Narcotics, we can assume she was a Detective I, and let's say it took her 3-4 years to get there from P3 since Armstrong said he was the fastest to get to detective and it took him 4 years (I'm assuming he meant from P2 to Detective I) bringing us to 2014-2015

Let's say Isabel started the addiction spiral around 2016-2017 since Tim ignored it for a while at first and she was probably able to hide it for a bit before it got to the point where Tim was starting to pick up and thought she was having an affair and that Isabel left around late 2017 / early 2018 to match the "I haven't seen her in a year" of 1.01

Tim and Isabel agree to divorce in 1.12 "Heartbreak" which apparently is Valentine's Day but I choose to ignore bc Feb 2019 ruins my entire timeline and doesn't make sense with any other established date so we're going to say that its 3-4 months into Lucy's rookie year and is May-June 2019 (we don't know when the divorce is finalized specifically but Lucy says "since the divorce" in 2.03 "The Bet", which is approx. Are "together" as of 1.01, and have been dating / sleeping together / literally doing the nasty bc seriously I hate them together so much since the academy

Based on how casual they're both treating it, lets say its been going on for 3 months as of 1.01

They break up in 1.04 "The Switch", sleep together again in 1.08 "Time of Death" and end it for good (thank GOD) in 1.09 "Standoff" - this is approx. April / May 2019, putting their entire length of relationship at 6 months

Tim and Rachel

Are planning a trip to Hawaii in 4.21 "Mother's Day" in which Lucy initially assumes Tim is going to propose, Tim & Ashley have been together for about 6 months at this point as it is May 2021; Tim finds out Ashley does not want marriage or children - a thing he very much does want - and for some reason stays in this "magic" relationship (srsly Timothy???)

Finally break up in 5.05 "The Fugitive" literally 10 seconds after Tim gets out of SPINAL SURGERY because Ashley remembered that Tim is a cop and being a cop is dangerous and I know Tim is pretty but like what did you expect? Just because he was telling your dad to retire meant he secretly wanted to too? This is late October 2021 as its right before 5.06 which is confirmed Halloween

An interesting long-term study of RSV risk to infants. TL;DR: RSV can affect infants as much as covid, so it's a good idea to mask up around them to help keep them safe!

Abstract Introduction We aimed to describe the risk profile of RSV infections among children aged ≤ 24 months in Valladolid from January 2010 to August 2022 and to compare them with influenza and COVID-19 controls.

Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study of all laboratory-confirmed RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 infections. We analyzed risk factors for RSV hospitalization and severity (length-of-stay ≥ 8 days, intensive-care-unit admission, in-hospital death or readmission < 30 days) and compared severity between hospitalized RSV patients vs. influenza and COVID-19 controls using multivariable logistic regression models.

Results We included 1507 patients with RSV (1274 inpatient), 32 with influenza, and 52 COVID-19 controls. Hospitalized RSV (mean age 5.3 months) and COVID-19 (4 months) were younger than influenza (9.1 months) patients. Sixteen percent of patients had RSV within the first month of life. Most infants did not have comorbidities (74% RSV, 56% influenza, and 69% COVID-19). Forty-one percent of patients with RSV and influenza were coinfected vs. 27% COVID-19 (p = 0.04). Among RSV, hospitalization risk factors were prematurity (adjusted OR 3.11 [95% CI 1.66, 4.44]) and coinfection (2.03 [1.45, 2.85]). Risks for higher severity were maternal smoking (1.89 [1.07, 3.33]), prematurity (2.31 [1.59, 3.34]), chronic lung disease (2.20 [1.06, 4.58]), neurodevelopmental condition (4.28 [2.10, 8.73]), and coinfection (2.67 [2.09, 3.40]). Breastfeeding was protective against hospitalization (0.87 [0.80, 0.95]) and severity (0.81 [0.74, 0.88]), while complete vaccination schedule was protective against severity (0.51 [0.27, 0.97]). RSV had 2.47 (1.03, 5.96) higher risk of experiencing any severe outcome compared to influenza and did not show significant differences vs. COVID-19.

Conclusions RSV hospitalizations were more frequent and severe than influenza, while severity was comparable to the early pandemic COVID-19. Currently, both influenza and COVID-19 vaccines are included in the maternal and childhood Spanish immunization schedule between the ages of 6 and 59 months. RSV monoclonal antibody is recommended for ≤ 6 months but a third of patients were aged 6–24 months. Maternal RSV vaccination can protect their children directly from birth and indirectly through breastfeeding.

I had a simple week working on some quality of life and background stuff. There are special install instructions this week!

tl;dr: If you use the Windows or Linux .zip or .tar.zst 'Extract' releases, you have to do a clean install! (https://hydrusnetwork.github.io/hydrus/getting_started_installing.html#clean_installs). If you are a Windows installer/macOS App/source user, you do not need to do a clean install; just update as normal.

The future build test went well, so I am folding the updates into the main build. The above releases are updated from Python 3.10 to 3.11, and Qt (UI) and OpenCV (image processing) are moved to newer versions. There aren't any super important changes, but a bunch of little things should work better or be a bit faster.

Unfortunately, the new libraries cause a dll conflict with v570 and earlier (basically the executable sees the py310 dlls beside the py311 ones and gets confused), so we need to clear the install directory of the old files. Just do the clean install and you should be fine!

You don't have to do it for the other modes because: the Windows installer basically does a clean install every time; the macOS App is always enclosed in its own thing doesn't have to worry about old files; and running from source doesn't care about dlls in the same way, although you might like to rebuild your venv today, just to catch up your own library versions.

If you do have trouble booting v571, then please revert to your v570 backup and let me know what happened! There were no problems in the test that people tried a couple weeks ago, so I'm not expecting anything much, but I'll jump on any reports. Also, if you have been struggling with some annoying menu or drag and drop bug, let me know if the new version of Qt fixed you.

The archive/delete filter gets a couple of workflow changes: first, if you finish a filter and there is more than one possible local file service to delete from, those 'commit' buttons are now disabled for 1.2 seconds. This is to catch you from spamming 'enter' through this dialog when it is suddenly different (I've done this myself more than once). Second, if you hate the idea of these buttons being disabled, and you always want to delete from all local file services anyway, please hit the new 'when finishing filtering, always delete from all possible domains' checkbox under options->files and trash, which lets you always have a simple 'commit' dialog that only shows 'delete from all local file services'.

The client now tries to load truncated images by default. The damaged images it now allows might be missing one pixel in the bottom right, or have a few lines of grey at the bottom, or might appear fine but just have some crazy metadata, but they won't, fingers crossed, fail with a 'malformed image' error any more. We had some stability problems with this mode some years ago, so I turned it off and only allowed it on in a debug menu on a per-session basis, but the situation seems to have cleared up, so it is now back on. If you need to turn it off, hit options->media.

Any time you have a normal single column list in the program, e.g. the list of URLs in 'manage urls', you can hit Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert and now it'll copy better strings (e.g. without '(1)' decorator cruft), and it'll copy every row you have selected.

I wrote a new emergency help document, 'help my db disappeared.txt', for the install_dir/db folder. If you ever boot up and get the 'this looks like the first time you have run the program' popup, there's now a guide to figure out what the hell happened.

John burned bridges with almost every hunter he ever met, and ghosted the rest (see: Ellen, 2.02). Almost everyone ended up thinking he was a weird loner and a huge asshole. Sam lied to everyone at Stanford about who he was (including Jess) and says he never felt like he fit in (1.01, 1.06, 1.13). He refuses to contact Sarah Blake again after 1.19 because “We’ve got work to do, Dean. And you know that". For sympathetic personal reasons, he avoids bonding with people he could have cultivated a deeper relationship with very consistently until the final seasons as Eileen and Rowena get re-introduced.

Dean forms connections with everybody. He spends quality time with people while Sam is off doing something work-related. Dean even connects with their early antagonists more than Sam does. Bela. Victor. Gordon. The limit of Sam's interaction with Bela is him calling her a bitch and having a sex dream about her (3.10).

Dean is the one who initially thinks of and directs them to Bobby’s in 1.22 when they need help. He goes into Bobby's dreams and helps him escape a nightmare (while learning about his tragic backstory) while Sam is off looking for the episode's antagonist. He’s the one who calls Bobby his dad in 3.10 and again in 4.01 while Sam ghosts Bobby twice because Dean is dead and Sam's hot on the revenge trail, being pointedly paralleled with their loner dad (3.11, 4.01).

Dean and Jo spend an entire episode bonding together while Sam is offscreen doing case things (2.06).

Dean is the only one to meet Rufus initially and bonds with him over whiskey while Sam is hotly pursuing a Frankenstein’s monster to make him turn over the instructions on how to Frankenstein’s monster oneself so that he can Frankenstein’s monster himself and Dean and they’ll live for eternity together. Dean later pulls Rufus out of mind control.

Sam and Ellen do interact but mainly to discuss cases. Dean has several emotional moments with Ellen.

Sam and Cas… do I need to say anything?

Donna is Dean’s friend. Garth is Dean’s friend first before he and Sam ever really meet. Dean connects with Claire before Sam ever does. They play mini golf while Sam is—again—doing case things. Charlie and Dean spend two whole episodes bonding while Sam is off doing other case-related stuff. Dean becomes friends with the king of hell. They spent all summer together and Sam is really jealous about it. Dean was friends with a hot cajun vampire and Sam practically shit out his insides in envy.

Dean is the narrative heart. The hearth of the Winchester family house around whom all things and all people converge. His warmth attracts people like moths to an endlessly burning flame. He doesn't even have to try. He just has to be who he already is—loving, persevering, encouraging, fighting, seeking... he exudes endless wellsprings of love and charisma from every pore.

TL;DR his milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Miss me with your rancid takes.

People will be like “Dean has no identity outside of Sam and John” :/ Like that’s actually true and Dean isn’t the only one who actually forms and maintains onscreen connections with multiple people for a huge chunk of the series.

A #deanwinchester birthday thread of "Eps where Dean is genuinely shown to be an intelligent nerd, excited about his job, and is enjoying positive relationships. 1-2 episodes/season, starred* have caveats (usually there was a tragic twist in otherwise light character eps).

Season 1: "Hell House". Prank wars, Dean in a music store, band symbols being painted on a haunted house, and urban legends.

Season 2: "Hollywood Babylon". Dean gets to work a job that isn't hunting and surprise - he's fantastic at team bonding, and his knowledge of horror movie lore helps solve a wonderfully nerdy case.

Season 3: "Ghostfacers" & "Mystery Spot". Mystery Spot features a goofy, silly, relaxed Dean (one of the only times this season) and Ghostfacers features two of the other biggest nerds on the show.

Season 4: "It's a Terrible Life". Again, an ep where Dean isn't a hunter, but does have a remarkable ability to connect with people around him & gets the thrill of hunting without all the repressed trauma! (also, more Ghostfacers!) We sense nerdy themes in Dean's happy moments.

Season 5: "Free to Be You and Me". This season is heavy, but this episode features Dean and Cas bonding, lots of full-body Dean laughs, and a reprieve from all the destiny-and-apocalypse storylines.

Season 5: "Changing Channels". Dean is flustered at Dr. Sexy, again, another world where Dean gets to exist as just a human outside of hunting and surprise, he's pretty chipper and excited about things like food and sexy Drs.

Season 6: "The French Mistake." This season was a hard one for Dean, but this episode is a lighter look at the storytelling of the show in general. (If you have a better s6 suggestion, shout it out!)

Season 7: "Party On, Garth". Do I need to say more? This episode is pure, ridiculous, brain-empty fun in a season where Dean is pretty rarely having any happy moments.

Season 8: "LARP and the Real Girl". Probably my thesis in Dean-is-a-nerd studies; an episode where he gets to genuinely play with fellow enthusiast Charlie in an ep that honours fan culture & queer culture. This is my go-to comfort episode & I could write a whole essay on it.

Season 8: "Hunter Heroici". Again, a fun and whacky hunt, with a Cas misunderstanding human communication and full of fun comic book visuals.

Season 9: "Slumber Party" It's another Charlie episode, this time with Oz and wicked witches! This season is a particularly rough one with not much happy Dean, and this episode is one of the only exceptions.

Season 9: "Bad Boys"* This episode features flashbacks to young Dean in a supportive home environment, thriving as he learns to box & play guitar, & it's a lovely character study, albeit with a bittersweet ending. (I am always impressed by this particular actor's Dean portrayal)

Season 10: "Fan Fiction". The meta nature of this ep lends itself to Dean seeing what his life has meant, & to see himself the way his 'fans' would, & it's lovely to watch him lean into the narrative, gradually embracing & enjoying the young fan culture that is telling his story

Season 11: "Baby". No list about Dean thesis episodes could ignore this episode, because it's crucial to Dean that the Impala is a constant presence in his life, and this episode shows how at home he feels there.

Season 11:"Beyond the Mat." Dean's extra-curricular interests come back in here, with an episode about him meeting an athlete he's loved since he was a teenager. This episode balances the hunt of the episode with many moments of Dean getting to nerd-out about something he enjoys.

Season 12: "The One You've Been Waiting For", or, the one where Dean kills a brought-back-to-life-Hitler. This episode is super enjoyable as a one-off monster, it's well written, and this hunt is one that you can tell Dean gets a ton of satisfaction from.

Season 13: "Tombstone". Dean loves cowboys! Dean loves Cas and Cas is back alive! They dress up as cowboys! This episode is one of the most purely happy episodes for Dean throughout the whole show, which is saying something.

Season 13: "Scoobynatural". Look, you knew this episode would be here. Dean gets to live in his favourite animated children's show world & it's everything you could want. As is a trend in later seasons, Dean isn't having to hide or mask when he likes things, & it's refreshing.

Season 14: "Mint Condition." This is another one-off, lighthearted monster of the week in a heavy season for Dean. This episode is set in a comic book store, and also features scenes of Dean holding his own movie marathons.

Season 15: "Last Call"* Pretty major caveat for the monster twist in this episode & the secondary plot with Sam/Eileen, but this is an episode where we see Dean enjoying singing & reminiscing with an old friend, & until things turn south it's a great moment of letting loose.

Season 15: "Last Holiday". This episode could have been better, & the premise is odd, but it gives us a scene where Dean bakes a birthday cake, gets to be cared for & celebrate holidays he never got, and though this episode DESPERATELY needed Cas, it's still fun.

HEY! you said that s3 brio was better than s2 & s1 brio, and I cannot let that go...bc I kinda agree in a lot of ways. We kinda got the fake dating au, the 3.04 money scene, and the 3.11 scene. I dont think anything can surpass the 2.09 kiss, but I would like to know why you think s3 was superior

Okay look, you make a fair point and I wobble on this stance whenever I look at gifsets BUT s2 brio walked so s3 brio could run (face-first into a wall at high speeds but I love pain which is a key component to understanding my stance here). 

Basically the version of Beth and Rio we saw in season 3 made me feel exponentially more stuff because there was so much depth of feeling to their relationship that hadn’t been there previous seasons mostly because it couldn’t have been, it’s the cumulative build of everything good and bad and it makes me feel I think literally every emotion all at once.

Tbh I drew my conclusion after watching the midnight bar scene in 304 approximately 43 times on a loop and personally feel that’s enough (not even taking 306 into account, or 305 for that matter. honestly the 304-306 brio arc was god tier). THAT SAID in terms of literal examples of content, @foxmagpie​ compiled a handy list in her tags:

and this list doesn’t even get into the amount of airtime 305 spent presenting the idea that rio loves beth for audience consideration (twice! with a lot of dead space around it to let the point land! that’s a lot in tv land!) (though, due to the amount of time devoted to it, it had to accomplish more than just the one thing and I think the other major point was symbolizing the death of the boland marriage but that’s a whole other post) (plus, obvs, foreshadowing lucy)

I also say all of this with the caveat that if the makeshift finale hadn’t ended like it did (making so much space for such a tonally shifted brio scene) and the show been renewed I probably wouldn’t be saying all of this but as things stand I’m extremely excited for s4 to follow the trajectory and possibly probably actually kill me.

ANYWAY, tl;dr there was a lot of brio content in s3 and while it certainly wasn’t nice, it was all weighted and deliciously angsty and saturated in feelings in a way the other seasons weren’t capable of being and that’s the kind of thing I live for both bc continuity! emotional development! narrative consequences!, but also bc, as established, I love pain.

Ted at home... taking on what Jamie said he’d say to his dad... now Ted's saying it to his mother.

I mean, I get it. Even though my mother did get therapy after my dad suicided (I was 15). And we talked about stuff... a lot. There was no pretending what happened or pretending we were doing okay when we weren’t. But I probably didn’t show much of what was going on with me because my therapy was writing. I processed a lot of my grief and confusion about it all through poetry. And I think that’s part of the reason why the gift of poetry writing left me... because I had no more of that to process. That or I was just able to express things better through prose.

"Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, sometimes you tie." Being a parent is like soccer. Who knew? "All we can do is keep playing."

I'm glad he got all that out, though... It's really the one thing he still needed to get through. Y'know, apart from the missing Henry all the time thing.

Do you think Adam did nothing wrong or not? You're very confusing

TL;DR: Adam did a lot of shit wrong. Anyone who says “Adam did nothing wrong” just straight up didn’t watch the show. Adam stabbed Blake through the stomach, dismembered Yang, tried to decapitate Blake, and that was all just during season 3. Every action Adam took against Blake was incorrect and he 100% deserved to die for it and I’m glad he’s face-down in a river somewhere. I’ve never defended Adam’s actions against Blake and I’ve never tried to insinuate they didn’t happen. So I’m really not sure where the confusion is coming from?

I’ve said that Adam’s abusive nature came out of nowhere, definitely still believe that. There was no allusion to it- no red flags, nothing of the sort- until it revealed itself during 3.11. I’ve said that Adam’s genocidal nature came out of nowhere- again, no allusions to the fact he believed that Faunus were superior to humans and the power dynamics must be reversed. He’d never shown himself to believe anything like that until he said it during Heroes and Monsters. I’ve said that RT made a huge misstep in writing these two character traits into Adam, and really cheapened their racism subplot by either killing, converting or giving ulterior motives to their only violent revolutionaries in the show (Sienna, Ilia and Adam respectively). I’ve said that it very much seems that these additions to Adam’s character appear to have been injected into the plot at the last minute, seeing as there are a lot of instances where good writing would’ve shown Adam to be this kind of character and instead of saying things or taking actions to give the audience these kind of red flags, the actions he does take paint an extremely different picture to the character he supposedly was “the whole time.” I’ve said that RT really seem to be retroactively doubling down on this “Adam was always abusive and always genocidal” narrative after his death through the use of Blake’s comic chapter and the song Lionize and such. They’re building Adam up to be a bigger asshole through media released after his death than they’d ever tried to do before his official reveal. These are all thoughts I’ve expressed and defended on this site, definitely.

But I’ve never defended the actions Adam actually took against Blake, and I’ve never defended his involvement in the Breach. The character Adam actually is and the actions he took aren’t to be defended or swept under the rug. He got exactly what he deserved. My issues are with the way these characteristics were revealed to us, and the message that writing one of the few violent revolutionaries in the entire plot like this sends to the audience.

I really hope I’ve cleared this up tbh, it’s frustrating when people misunderstand my stances on this kind of subject and just jump to the idea that I’m defending Adam’s actions. I’m actively against people that do that, and any Adam-stans in my follower count who’d defend his actions as “not that bad” or “nothing wrong” really need to readjust your moral compasses.

また、CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark というセキュリティガイドラインが公開されており、このガイドラインは、AWSアカウントをセキュアに保つために必要なAWSのセキュリティ設定を集めたベストプラクティス集として活用できます。自身のAWSアカウントがこのガイドラインにどの程度準拠しているのかを確認/監査する手段として、AWS Security Hubで、CIS AWS Foundations Standardという機能が提供されています。

Hi Anon, so first of all. The hell with all these mixed signals regarding the magical objects and stuff. In season 1 Regina was able to take an apple through the hat from the past, while later on the show it was established that time traveling isn’t possible...

I wouldn’t rely on these stupid things (literally), if it helps Swan Fire fans sleep at night, than fine, they can delude themselves with Belle’s words that really don’t say much. You know what does say much? Actions. And Neal’s actions towards Emma, and Emma’s actions towards Neal were not indication of TL. Same goes for her and Graham who knew each other for two seconds.

What she has with Killian on the other hand has proven itself through 6 seasons to be the most genuine. How they bring out the best from one another, how they become the best version of themselves thanks to the other person. You can not say that about Neal and Emma or Emma and Graham. 

So yes, I understand Emma loved Neal, I don’t think she loved Graham, but I understand why people think she did. But both of these loves WERE NOT true love. Like Killian said, true love is the rarest magic of all. Even if the show’s own creators forgot this concept once or twice (Zelena Hades, Ruby Dorothy) it doesn’t mean I did. And I support Killian’s words. And he and Emma have this thing for real.

I will also dare to say that their TL reached the level of “the truest love” that was defined by Zelena for Snowing in 3B. Among all the “true loves” that we’ve seen, there’s also a level of “truthfulness” among them, and no doubt that Snowing and CS have the highest level of it.
