A Guide to Red - The Quintessential Taylor Swift Album

After the release of The Manuscript, the role of Red and Red (Taylor’s Version) in Taylor’s life and discography has been highly discussed. A lot of people have referred to it as her magnum opus and most formative album. I have decided to compile a condensed list of about a dozen key interviews, performances, speeches, posts, and videos from 2011 all the way until 2024 that illustrate the importance of this record for Taylor’s personal life and career. I’m putting the list under a cut because it got pretty long. You don’t have to go through all of these, obviously, but I would suggest at least one per era. The bolded ones are essential in my opinion.

My fem versions of Tweek and Craig. Otherwise known as Tiffany (Tiff) and Casey (Case). They are both 19-20 years old, both in their second year of college. Yes this all takes place in 2011. I was trying to keep with the shows “Timeline” and the kids started 4th grade (4th season) in 2000. They regularly go on dates, and because Casey is a photography major, Tiff can expect the BEST pictures to be taken of her (and them together). Tiff is a graphic designs major, but she likes to take different classes (like theater). Case and Tiff both paint on their clothes, and Tiff will occasionally sew patches onto her clothing. They both actually painted the overalls Case is wearing.

There's something about haylor meeting at Ed's wedding reception in September, then Harry announcing Fine Line release date in November, then performing at the jingle bell ball on 8th December and then Taylor performing there the next day and telling Fletcher that she loves the lyrics of Undrunk!!!

I missed the Undrunk lyric mention, gee I can see why Taylor would have liked that song it is like her! How fitting for that time.

The 2019 timeline really interests me for the reasons you indicate. Also now that TTPD has referenced when he was 25 which was that year.

From Taylor and Joe at the Spaniards Inn... (like WHY?) The Me! video in all it's Haylor glory, Harry's Swan Gucci Campaign and Boyfriends, Adore You and Lights Up were written. They had each other on their minds.

Then Ed's wedding, it's presumed that Joe was there. Niall followed him the next day.. but Joe didn't follow Niall back for 2 more weeks which I think is weird. (There's a blind that Taylors team controlled that account)

After the wedding gets hazy. Harry was MIA for 2 weeks. Joe went to Toronto to do press for something at TIFF. Taylor went to Paris to film City of Lover and included Style as #13 and Delicate she kept pointing at the Joe-less sound booth.

When Joe was seen with Taylor again (a month later) a huge, silly deal was made about them *gasp* holding hands. Then Joe was away on her birthday again. At the Z100 Jingle Bell Ball in NY (she said she liked Undrunk) and birthday. Joe was filming in London. Harry was LA for the Fine Line ONO on her birthday then missing again. So Joe wasn't at her birthday, Harry was missing in the US for it. Taylor showed up at the Cats premiere with a swollen lip (Maybe lip filler gone bad?) and goes weird talking about her holiday plans.

Taylor spent New Years in the Maldives with Joe "and friends", there's press about weeks later. Harry was in the Caribbean when he first wore the "but daddy I love him" shirt dancing with no shoes. Taylor dressed as a Ariel the New Years before.... I have so many questions about that year and the next

so yeah ^-^ tldr about twelve years or so, and i got into it via pokémon ask blogs !

oh god. um. i genuinely think raikov is at the top of the list. writing him usually comes super easily to me, and that's not something i've experienced in a LONG time. it's genuinely such a fun experience to write him and i love the followers and friends i've gained from it. i really like the lore i've built for him and the intricacies i'm slowly weaving into his character. he's so silly and i care him very bad and i want to write him for a long time <3 um. let me look at my list

OH MY GOD YES tiff tannen from back to the future. like raikov she basically existed as a joke / throwaway line until she showed up in the comics, and i took that bitch and put everything i had into her. there's some shit i handled poorly and some stuff i'd change, but that community was so chill and she holds a special place in my heart. i might revive her blog one day. OH YEAH and if you google tiff tannen my rp blog still shows up on the first page

um. im gen not sure who else. i don't remember a lot of my time writing other muses. probably like some of my historical muses, or. yeah i cant remember. maybe my fnaf oc because that was the first time i got fanart of an oc and i felt like the gods themselves had bestowed it upon me

回 ━ what are your top four favorite shows?

chernobyl hbo is my favourite show ever of all time and it is the best show ever of all time factually contractually legally clinically and undisputably. i genuinely love every single facet of that show. it's what inspired me to get into researching nuclear radiation and that's what eventually led me to meet my partner ! i love that show so much it changed my life literally. i cried so hard. if you haven't watched it please do so on your platform of choice ( legal or no ) because it's genuinely amazing

neon genesis evangelion is probably one of my favourite shows ever of all time too, it hit so close to home and i'm obsessed with it. and even though none of the characters canonically have personality disorders, i find asuka and shinji to be super good representations of hpd and avpd respectively, which is great because you usually never see those anywhere ! it's so good. i also loved serial experiments lain but it hit too close to home in a way that i never want to watch it ever again because i think it will do irreparable damage to my psyche. but i really enjoyed it !

OTHERWISE i'm actually not much of a... show girlie. i like friday night dinner though i literally forgot it existed until my beloved mentioned it right now. um. most of the stuff i watch is like hell's kitchen, four in a bed, don't tell the bride, that type of shit because i'm apparently 47 years old. i have been watching dorohedoro, chainsaw man, and spy x family with my partner though !

260 - The Deep Blue Sea

A few weeks ago, we lost the great and greatly undervalued filmmaker Terence Davies, who listened have heard our love of on our previous episode for The House of Mirth. In 2011, Davies adapted the play The Deep Blue Sea for the screen, with Rachel Weisz taking the role of a post-WWII married woman devastated by a failed affair with a veteran pilot, played by Tom Hiddleston. The film launched at TIFF but didn't hit US screens until the following year, with Weisz an outsider contender in Best Actress with a NYFCC win and a surprise Golden Globe nomination.

This week, we talk about Davies' heartbreaking passing and his career that culminated with Benediction. We also talk about Weisz' career and Best Supporting Actress win for The Constant Gardener, Hiddleston's breakthrough year in 2011 including Thor, and Simon Russell Beale's tender performance as Weisz' husband.

Topics also include what a cockle is, NYFCC's other Best Actress choices, and the under appreciation of this year's Dead Ringers limited series.

Matthew Goode talking about the challenge of having to cry on set in Burning Man and not trying to overthink it. His approach is to do his homework and then turn up.

Whatever he does, it works. He is an actor with such rich inner self and imagination that he can turn out a breathtaking, emotional and layered performance without the need to go 'Method'.

Here is a wee collage of some of my favourite expressions. So adorable. That lip/tongue bite is a killer though (see also GIF ⬆️). I have changed the background to teal 💙 coz it was a bit drab.

.jpg (lossy format. people who do not use png use jpg. i can't stop you.)

.gif (the only reason you should use this one is for animated pictures.)

.dds, .tiff, .bmp, etc. (you only have these in the files of video games made before 2011.)

.webp (go fuck yourself. appears everywhere and incompatable with anything you would want to put an image file in. if your website saves image files as .webp i will kill you in your sleep.)

.avif (same as above, but i hate this format even more. it just pisses me off... that's not how you use numbers in a file format.)

I truly believe that every time a social media platform converts a razor-sharp lossless PNG into a shitty overcompressed JPEG that doesn't even have a smaller filesize than the original image it's replacing, I should be allowed to kill.

Только что просмотрев «Киллер Джо»  вчера вечером на TIFF 2011, я до сих пор не могу прийти в себя от того, что я на самом деле увидел на экране. Прежде всего, где была Джина Гершон?? Ее персонаж был настолько правдоподобен, что я почти забыл, что она была в «Шоугелз» :) Я мог бы сказать то же самое почти о каждом другом персонаже. У них у всех такие тонкие личности, кажется, будто они играют самих себя. Что касается сюжета, то он довольно стандартен, о чем легко может рассказать трейлер, однако то, как он развивается и разворачивается, является самым интересным аспектом фильма. Есть несколько сцен, которые некоторым будет очень трудно смотреть (на самом деле, во время одной печально известной сцены десятки людей покинули показ, на котором я был), но если вы будете придерживаться их, вас ждет ... обращаться? Я не так уверен, но ничего подобного вы никогда не видели и не увидите. Я очень рекомендую этот фильм только из-за игры актеров, но если у вас сердечный приступ или вас тошнит в месте кровотечения, возможно, пропустите его
