Changing Castlevania from a living Creature of Chaos to Dracula's Castle of Science was so lame
It is, and not just because you have such a cool concept of a castle that is actually an eldritch location that defies the laws of logic and reality, intimately tied with its Lord, and there was nothing done with it. (special shout out to LoS for actually doing something very cool with it)
Reducing Dracula to a "man of science" is a bit... I don't know how to say. My first word is "tasteless"?
One, I noticed the focus the story puts on Dracula's supposed holding on knowledge. Lisa going to him to ask him to teach him older ways to heal people is cute. Isaac wanting to protect him because his knowledge is more important than his own life is ehhh feels reductive IMO (and this is why making Isaac both a worshipper and Dracula's bestie doesn't work), but whatever. Alucard lamenting that with his madness and death the world will lose "a repository of centuries of learning" feels weird at this point. Like. Why is the main concern what Dracula can offer to the world? Why is he only worth something because he's a giant living library? Besides, the castle didn't crumble with his death unlike in the games, so all of his books and inventions or whatever he has still stand. What about him as a person? Don't you care about your damn father, Alucard?
Two, it's just another way to CHURCH BAD. See? Humans are stupid because they have the CHURCH BAD that holds them back! Vampires don't, so they get to have electricity in the 15th century! Ohhh, ahhh! And Lisa doesn't get to escape this, ofc, because she was the one who was offended at the idea of being seen as a witch - no no she wants to learn real science, thank you very much!
And three, tied to the above, it's yet another piece that adds to the elvification of vampires. I'm reminded of this scene:
Lenore: Mm. It's a lovely night, don't you think? Hector: It's a bloody chilly night. It was warmer in my cell. Lenore: That's because we channel waste heat around the castle with pipes. Hector: Really? Even to the cells? Lenore: I keep telling you. We're not monsters. Hector: Dracula's castle moved heat around with pipes. Is that vampire magic? Lenore: Actually, just science. Centuries old. The thing is, Hector, humans forget things and vampires don't. You have a lot to learn.
(yeah sure you're not monsters because you keep the cell warm, that's why you guys stripped hector naked and doused him in icy water, lenore you are such a bad liar and you're lucky hector was lobotomized after s2)
And this scene, where Alucard lights the lamps in the Belmont Hold and the Japanese not-twins are all amazed:
Sumi: Magic lanterns! Alucard: Lightning. Not magic. Taka: You put lightning into lamps and you tell us it's not magic? Alucard: It's really not. The Parthians were storing lightning in jars two hundred years before Christ.
Again, vampires are soooo cool because they have advanced technology to dazzle the inferior rac-- I mean, humans with. They have their own culture, their own books with their own "vampire philosophy", untampered by the stupid CHURCH BAD. That's what makes them worthy of being protected :) and that's why the Belmonts are mean when they kill them and their mysterious children :)
In some aspects, NFCV really reminds me of Twilight - and in this case, it's the insistence on both making vampires "creatures of science" (something something crosses freak them out because amazing predator vision) and elevating them to a noble, smarter race that is nothing but superior to the stupid humans. The only thing missing was Hector or Isaac going all Bella Swan and begging to be turned by Lenore or Dracula to become a superior creature.

Scheming! Plotting!
It's that time of the morning where the sun has yet to hit the horizon but the hue of the sky has begun to change foretelling of it's arrival. Signalling for all undead in the region that it is seek shelter for the day. A matter of little hassle in the Warwickshire manor Cecil happens to reside! With books placed aside, curtains drawn, and lights off a pair of Victorian vampires have made themselves perfectly cozy curled up in the safety of the dark.
What's become the usual at this point, aside from Danny generally migrating from his corner making himself at home as another piece of bedding, is for him to have slumped completely still. Dead weight regardless of waking status. Yet that is not the case this morning. Instead he's picking apart how exactly to talk about something. Lachlan had sprung an offer on him over private messages and he was not entirely sure how to broach the topic. As the vague ticking of a clock marked the narrowing window of time before sunrise he finds himself wringing his hands in the dark. Picking at the sheets, picking at Cecil's shirt where an arm is dumped over him, the occasional impulse snap of fingers to prompt himself into speaking. Telltale telegraph that he's got something to say and he'll get around to it eventually. It's the eventual chime of a clock from somewhere in the manor that manages to tip the scales.
"So uh- I uh- Hrm... I- ya'know- Idea! Mm? Hm? Hm."
Great start. The century of silence is really showing itself. Pat pat pat to the sheets, snap of fingers, start again.
"-Lachlan knows Vauldarie-" There we go! Something coherent, and he can't help but give a relieved huff that he got something out. Even if he didn't manage to say more, Cecil's smart, surely that can get some dominos falling. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, he manages to continue breaking into one of his tumbling rambles
"And I once saw- hm, whaddidtheycallit... blood marriage? But, we ain't gettin' bonded an' 'ats some 'ole o'vver fing not wanted but- mm.... but any'ow- fought- wot if- cos you've been in the 'ole vauldarie fing before 'ight? An' Lock did if for me an' the gang. An' we 'avin' vis 'ole fake weddin' fing 'ight? Wot if we made use of it? Cos both fings end in drinkin' blood an' Locky says it's more in the way the words be said than the exact words, sor'a like wiv uh- uh- Will, right? No spellcastin' without intent in'ere? At's the one innit? So wot if, for a bit'a fun and excitement we did that. Vauldarie I mean. Far as Tolly need know it's still a fake weddin' innit? Invitin' friends, dressin' up, sayin' silly words, exchangin' blood. An' wot? It'd blend in wiv the rest, an' maybe you'd sleep easier knowin' you got another layer of safeguard round to stop me eatin' you? So... uh- 'ats me idea if it take any appeal to ya. Course Locky 'ave to abyss 'is way back 'ere again. An' does the runner of the 'ole ritual 'aft to be part of it I fink they might which I guess makes 'im involved, in which case do we pull more in cos I dunno if I want to feel any kinda obligation to Mary. She nice for saber an' playin' wiv fire but I still dunno 'ow I ought to feel bout 'er entirely. But wiv Lock then guess it jus' kinda makes you gang official I fink."
There is a pause for a deliberate breathe as if he's going to keep rambling but he lets it go. No. That's more than enough. Any more and he won't be getting a response before the sun rises.
#ic#earlgreyritae#long post#// under hider because Danny /just keeps rambling/ for a bit#// Once again exemplifying his TWO MODES of 'cannot speak' or RAMBLE

Ikevamp Act 2.5
Chapter 2
Comte: “Alright, everyone. Let’s start the welcoming party for Mitsuki.”
Comte: "Here's to another magical and fateful encounter."
We clink our glasses on cue with Comte's voice.
The room is beautifully decorated, and the table is lined with sumptuous dishes that one can hardly take one's eyes off.
Mitsuki: "They all look delicious. And there are so many dishes I didn't know existed!"
Vincent: "This is Erwtensoep. It's a popular dish in the Netherlands, where Theo and I were born."
Mozart: "This one is schnitzel, a Viennese specialty. It's made from tender veal. You should try it."
Dazai: "Looks like we're in for a diverse dining experience tonight."
Sebastian: "Since this is a rare occasion, I asked for everyone's recommendations for local cuisine and prepared them."
Apparently, Sebastian spearheaded the feast with some of the skillful cooks in the group.
Mitsuki: "Mm... Yeah. It's so good!"
Isaac: "Napoleon made that dish. He really can do anything."
Jean: "I wanted to help too, but they took me off cooking duty for some reason..."
Vincent: "Me too...."
Vincent: "But if there's a next time, we'll do our best to cook so we can make you smile as well."
Mitsuki: "You already did a great job preparing other stuff besides cooking."
(And thanks to that, the kitchen is safe! And above all...)
Mitsuki: "Your feelings are properly conveyed, so don’t worry about it. Thank you."
Vincent: "I'm glad. Smiling really suits you."
Mozart: "Well, to be honest, I think Sebas made the right decision in taking you two off the cooking duty this time."
Mozart shrugs his shoulders and smiles secretly.
While savoring the delicious food, everyone naturally engages in conversation.
(I kind of like this kind of atmosphere)
Leonardo: "What's the matter, Cara mia? You've been smiling for a while now."
Mitsuki: "Hehe, I'm having so much fun. I just couldn't stop smiling."
Mitsuki: "Besides, everyone here was born in different times and different countries."
Mitsuki: "It's strange that we're sitting around a dinner table together, but I think it’s wonderful."
Mitsuki: "We have vampires and humans here, but..."
I was told at first that it's essentially a predator-prey relationship, but living under the same roof made me forget about such boundaries.
Mitsuki: "When I'm with everyone, I feel that we can connect with each other no matter who we are."
Leonardo: “Vampires, humans, anyone, huh?”
With a small nod, Leonardo looks around him.
His amber eyes seem to be gazing and yearning into something dazzling...
Leonardo: "These guys here have lived out their lives at least once. Even if they have lingering regrets."
Leonardo: "When Comte said he was going to bring back such great men to life, I had some reservations, but..."
(Right. Everyone came back to life because of unfinished business in their first life.)
I heard that they were guided by Comte between life and death to accept a contract to become a vampire by choice.
There must have been some unresolved past or conflict that I didn't know about―enough for them to choose a second life even if they stopped being human.
Leonardo: "If their past regrets can become a means to live, then I have no right to tell them what to choose."
Leonardo: "Besides, even if it's just temporary, for Comte, we're family now. It's not bad that the mansion has become livelier."
(Family, huh...)
I'm secretly glad to be accepted as a member of it.
Napoleon: "Here, Mitsuki. The food here is delicious too, so eat as much as you can."
Mitsuki: "Napoleon, I can't eat that much all at once...!"
Flustered by the string of food recommendations, Napoleon smiles wryly.
(Come to think of it, Napoleon is the only one who hasn't signed a contract with Comte.)
That's what I heard when I first came to the mansion.
~~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~~
Napoleon: "I used to be a soldier and fought for a cause I believed in. I have no regrets about that past."
Napoleon: "I was supposed to have died on St. Helena Island, but when I woke up, I found myself in this mansion, without a contract with Comte."
Napoleon: "I personally don’t know why I came back from the dead and why I'm still alive."
~~~~~~Flashback Ends~~~~~~
Napoleon says that although he has gained a life equal to eternity, there's still a part of him that is still human.
Just like me, he gets hungry and needs to eat. Apparently, his body is a cross between a human and a vampire, so to speak.
(How in the world did that happen?)
(It's as if Napoleon is also at the mercy of an invisible fate...)
Napoleon: "Hm? What's the matter? You've been staring for a while now.."
Mitsuki: "Oh, no. It's nothing."
I turned my attention back to the pleasant meal and conversation.
After a while, footsteps approached the room, and someone appeared.
Shakespeare: "Good day, everyone. Thank you for having me here tonight."
Shakespeare: "Sorry for the delay. If I may, I would like to address tonight's guest of honor."
Shakespeare: "Mitsuki, I heard from Comte what happened. Please do not be discouraged by this strange fate."
Mitsuki: "T-Thank you..."
As I accept the bouquet offered to me, he takes my hand in a flowing gesture and places a kiss on it.
This refined behavior caught me off guard.
Theodorus: "Hmph... You're really creepy, you know that?"
Shakespeare: "Oh, it's just common courtesy for a lady. As usual, you're very hard on me."
Vincent: "Will, I'm glad you're here. Let's eat and talk a lot today, okay?"
Comte: "You can stay the night if you want. I'll prepare a room for you."
Shakespeare: "Vincent, Comte..."
Shakespeare: "The truth is, I've also been invited to a party tonight by one of my patrons."
Shakespeare: "It's a tempting invitation, but I just came to say hello. So if you'll please excuse me."
(Too bad. He even came all the way here with a bouquet of flowers.)
Mitsuki: "Thank you very much for today, Shakespeare. Please come back and visit us again soon!"
Shakespeare: "Aye, absolutely."
With a graceful smile, Shakespeare left the room. His back somehow looked lonely.
Dazai: "Well, time for some talent show. Isaac says he's going to break an apple with his bare hands."
Arthur: "Newt, that's amazing. You're making me fall in love with you all over again."
Isaac: "Ha!? Of course, I can't do that!"
As usual, they tease Isaac, and laughter fills the air.
Afterward, Mozart and Comte played the violin, while Theo seemed more than happy with Sebastian's special desserts.
Then, the lively dinner party continued until late in the evening.
As Shakespeare exits the front door, he turns and looks up at the mansion where he once lived.
Shakespeare: "I am no longer the kind of man who can sit at a dinner table."
Shakespeare: "Even so, it was certainly unexpected. I never thought Mitsuki would stay in this period."
Murmuring to himself, Shakespeare pulls out a thick stack of notes from his pocket.
Shakespeare: "Are you perhaps a special cast, guided by fate?"
Shakespeare: "How would this story be different if I had cast you in my play?"
No one was there to answer his questions.
After getting my spirits up, thanks to everyone, my peaceful life at the mansion began again.
Mitsuki: "Good work, Arthur. I made you some coffee."
Arthur: "Hm, thanks. Mitsuki."
Arthur: "I'm a little tired, by the way. Will you let me relax with you?"
Mitsuki: "Relax? Do you want a massage?"
Arthur: "Pfft, you really have cute ideas sometimes, Mitsuki."
After bursting into laughter, Arthur takes off his glasses and looks at me from above.
Arthur: "If you're going to touch me, do it in a more naughty way. In bed, of course―"
Theodorus: "I'll tell Comte."
Arthur: "Ack! Don't get in my way, Theo."
Theo, dressed in a suit, stepped in between me and Arthur, who was closing in on me.
Theodorus: "Hey Hondje, don't leave too many openings. You already know how frivolous he is, don't you?"
Mitsuki: "I know exactly what you mean. Arthur is always like this."
Arthur: "Don't turn me down so easily. Seducing you is what I live for."
Mitsuki: "Your reason to live... Surely you didn't come back from the dead to make out with a girl, right?"
Arthur: "It's totally to flirt with girls."
Theodorus: "............................."
(You say it like that, but...)
He looks at the trash can next to his desk, where several rolled-up manuscript papers were thrown in.
(At first, I thought Arthur was just a frivolous playboy.)
(But when he's working on a novel, he's so engaged in it that he doesn't care if his rhythm of life goes haywire.)
(He even research his stuff and revise it over and over again...)
He may always seem carefree in front of others, but when he's working on a novel, Arthur puts on a serious face that he doesn't show to anyone else.
When I think about it, I wonder if he came back to life to write...
Arthur: "So, Theo, are you going to work now?"
Theodorus: "Yeah. There's an up-and-coming painter I'm going to see."
(Theo is just as serious about his work.)
As an art dealer, Theo supports painters to let their buried talents shine through.
The first of these is his brother Vincent.
(I've heard that Van Gogh as a painter was not well regarded during his lifetime.)
(I wonder if Theo decided to come back to life, this time, to promote Vincent's paintings.)
Refraining from prying, I thought about the aspects of their lives together that I had come to see.
Arthur: "Well, have a good day at work, Theo. Mitsuki, you're going to have to take a break with me."
Mitsuki: "Huh? I thought we were done talking about that?"
Theodorus: "You never learn, do you?"
Arthur: "It's true that I want to seduce her. Hey, Mitsuki, why don't we go on a date sometime?"
Arthur: "The World Fair will be starting soon in Paris."
Sebastian: "Oh! I like that!"
3 of Us: "Waah~! Sebastian!?"
Suddenly, Sebastian bursts in.
Sebastian: "I apologize. Mitsuki didn't come back for a while, so I came to check on her."
Sebastian: "Then, I heard a topic that caught my attention, so I just got excited."
Mitsuki: "You mean the World Fair?"
Sebastian nodded vigorously.
Sebastian: "It's a dream festival that brings together culture, art, and cutting-edge technology from around the world."
Sebastian: "And this time it's in Paris, so how could I miss it?"
Theodorus: "Yeah, I'm looking forward to the Expo too. I'll be able to see some Japanese paintings and..."
Theodorus: "The paintings that have been ignored by the Academy will also be on display this time around."
Mitsuki: "Oh yeah! Good for you, Theo."
Sebastian: "To be able to experience this historic event live, in person, with my own eyes... VIVA TIME SLIP!!"
Not exaggerating or anything, but Sebastian is overcome with emotion.
(Sebastian is a former historian. So expectations for the event are bound to be high.)
Sebastian: "Comte is also helping the host organization. When the Expo starts, let's all bring a packed lunch!"
Mitsuki: "Hehe, sounds like a field trip."
Arthur: "Ehhh... I'd rather be alone with Mitsuki."
Aside from Arthur's grumbling, we had a lot of fun talking about the upcoming World's Fair...
Comte: "Then I'll arrange the admission ticket for you on that day."
Comte said this when I told him about the World's Fair while helping him open a letter he received from a nobleman.
Mitsuki: "Really? Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to it now!"
Comte: "By the way, did you know that the venue for the first World's Fair was called the Crystal Palace."
(I think Sebastian told me that the first one was held in 1851.)
Comte talks about decades-old events as if they were yesterday.
In fact, from the perspective of an immortal vampire, it might as well be yesterday.
Comte: "But you know, the fun of the Expo is not only in the exhibits. People from all over the world gather there as well."
Comte: "Meeting people who have lived under distant skies, talking to them, experiencing unknown cultures and values..."
Comte: "Isn't it exciting?"
Comte's eyes mischievously sparkle as he talks.
Mitsuki: "Hehe, you really love to attend social gatherings like this and interact with people."
Comte: "I guess you're right. Being involved with humans allows me to be exposed to a wide range of emotions: joy, sorrow, and sometimes desire."
Comte: "To me, that makes me feel human and alive."
Comte: "When you live forever, sometimes you get tired of life..."
Comte: "I find people with different facets and possibilities beautiful."
Comte's eyes momentarily waver as if he is looking back at something far away, but he quickly turns his gaze back to me and smiles.
(Both Leonardo and Comte's eyes are filled with emotion when they talk about human beings.)
It's like they're looking fondly at something ephemeral like they're yearning for life.
(I usually forget when I'm with them, but I wonder what humans are like for immortal purebloods...)
As I was pondering this, Comte gently placed his hand over mine.
Comte: "Mitsuki, I know that due to unforeseen circumstances, you had to stay here in the 19th century, but..."
Comte: "Please, don't let this get to you. I hope you enjoy and make some wonderful connections during your stay."
Mitsuki: "Yes. Thank you."
Every time I come here to buy groceries, I see the town becoming even livelier day by day.
(Maybe it's because the World's Fair is coming, but I feel like there are more people in Paris now.)
I saw craftsmen preparing the venue, tourists who seemed to be on a sightseeing tour, and at one point, I even saw a group of people dressed in unusual ethnic costumes.
(It's so exciting, it's like a festival!)
With a lighthearted feeling, I walked around, looking here and there when...
Mitsuki: "Kyaa~!"
???: "Oops."
Mitsuki: "Oh my God! I'm so sorry!"
I quickly apologized after crashing into someone's back, and the moment I looked up, I saw...
(Crimson eyes that seem to pull you in.)
The person with the frighteningly beautiful features caught my eyes, and we stared at each other as if time had stopped...
Man with crimson eyes: "You..."
Man with crimson eyes: "Have we met somewhere before?"
Dear Mitsuki,
I got messages for you from all of us. I'll start first. I'm glad you enjoyed the welcoming party. When you look happy... I don't know why, but it makes me happy too.
―Napoleon
If you have any problems, talk to us. We need you to keep laughing and smiling... otherwise, you'll set the rest of the world off.
―Mozart
Relax those shoulders once in a while, Cara mia. We're always on your side. We'll protect you no matter what.
―Leonardo
I think I'm going to seriously start seducing you. Let's have a game to see who can make the other one fall in love first, shall we?
―Arthur
Pleased to see you again, Mitsuki. I've always wanted to paint a picture of you. Maybe you could model for me sometime?
―Vincent
I'm looking forward to teasing you yet again. I'll even let you help me with my business if you're interested, Hondje.
―Theodorus
Toshiko-san, would you like to go to the casino sometime? Or would you prefer a bar? I'll teach you some fun games to keep you occupied.
―Dazai
I don't know what kind of message to write, but I don't hate living with you. So... let's keep in touch as friends.
―Isaac
Lately, I feel like I'm missing something when I don't see you. Maybe it's because you're an irreplaceable part of this mansion.
―Jean
Maybe you're a special cast guided by fate? What kind of story will you weave in the future?
―Shakespeare
I'm glad I can spend more time with you in the future. You're already a part of my family.
―Count Saint-Germain
It's surprisingly fun to have a time-slip companion with me. I look forward to working with you as a colleague.
―Sebastian

See You Tomorrow On The Other Side.
Pairing: Vampire!Bucky Barnes x F!Reader
Genre: Fluff, Smut
Warnings: unprotected sex
Requested: nope
based on this prompt.
Summary: Nothing wrong with just wanting a taste, is there?
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! enjoy!
---
Wait, why is it so cold?
Y/N blinked her eyes open, flinching when she felt blinding pain in the side of her neck. Touching it, she found out that she was bleeding. What in the world…? "What the fuck?" she mumbled, moving to turn on the night-light but instead, she heard loud gagging noises coming from next to her on the floor.
She froze. I live alone. And then her instincts kicked in. She started screaming, only for her mouth to be clamped shut by a cold, freezing hand. "Shut up! Don't scream!" a raspy voice hissed. "Who the fuck are you?" Y/N demanded, though her voice came out muffled. "Forget that— why the fuck does your blood taste so gross?" the man asked instead.
Y/N's eyes widened with fear. "My— you— who are you?!" she yelled. "Shush! It's the middle of the night!" the man groaned, "My name is Bucky Barnes, happy?" Y/N huffed, clutching the side of her neck. "And what the fuck do you mean by your blood tastes so gross?" she questioned. "Did I stutter? I mean exactly that. Why the fuck is it so disgusting?!"
Y/N froze for the second time that night. Her first thought was that it was a dream, but the very real pain in her neck and the blood on her fingers suggested otherwise. The man— Bucky— he bit her neck. And that had only one reasonable explanation. "Are you a vampire?" she blurted out.
"Aye, see? Knew you were smart," he beamed and she stared at him, shocked. "Vampires aren't real." His face dropped and he rolled his eyes. "Then how do you explain me?" He flexed and Y/N scrunched her nose in mild annoyance. "First off, you're too annoying. Second— what the hell are you doing in my house?!"
"What do you think I'm doing?! I was hungry! Now answer my damn question— why is your blood gross?" He tapped her on the forehead twice. She blinked. Well, since this night couldn't get any crazier… "I have anemia? I guess that's why. Now you answer my question! Why did you select me to be your food?"
"Because you look like a snack?" he offered sheepishly but she only raised an eyebrow. Bucky blushed a bit; he very well couldn't tell her that he had had a crush on her ever since he had seen her— that was a few months ago. Nothing wrong with just wanting a taste, is there? "Okay wait, come back to you— you have anemia?"
"Uh, yeah? Why do you care? Go away, dude, you got your taste, you didn't like it, now leave me alone!" Y/N scoffed, turning to lay back down but Bucky put an arm around her, pulling her back up. "No, we gotta talk about it. Are you taking anything for it? Supplements, Vitamin D pills…?" Y/N stared at him.
"No," she replied flatly, "Medicines taste bad and I've already come to terms with my condi—" Bucky scoffed harder. "Really? You are a dumbass, you know that? I'm bringing you the medicines tomorrow, and you're gonna take them every night in front of me, got it?" Nothing wrong with being worried about your darling's health.
"Do you usually get this involved with your prey/food?" Y/N deadpanned. "You're not— don't argue! If you're not going to take care of your health, I'm going to have to do it for you," Bucky huffed. "As sweet as the sentiment is, I think the fuck not. Goodnight, Bucky, I will not see you tomorrow." She gave him a sweet, fake smile and lay down.
This time, Bucky didn't stop her. "Dumbass," he muttered under his breath as he stood on the window sill, promptly turning into a bat before flying away into the night.
---
"Hey, welcome home!"
Y/N screamed, almost dropping her bag of groceries on the floor as she whirled around to see Bucky sitting on the couch in the living room, flipping through the pages of a magazine. "Couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV," he muttered as Y/N eyed the magazine. She couldn't help but snort. "Ancient."
"Hey, rude." He narrowed his eyes at her and she narrowed hers right back. "Okay, had your fun reading the magazine? Now get lost or I'll call security," Y/N threatened him and stood in front of him, her arms crossed. He smirked and rose to his full height, causing Y/N's resolve to crumble.
He was much, much taller than her. "Go ahead, do it, baby girl," he whispered tauntingly, leaning in so that their faces were inches apart. Y/N whimpered involuntarily at his sweet scent, slapping a hand to her mouth in horror when she realized what she had just done. Bucky burst out laughing. "See? You want me here."
"Flatter yourself, Barnes," she mumbled but the truth was, she did want him there. The previous night, she had failed to notice just how beautiful he really was; now, she found out. He was also funny, charming, caring and sweet— not bad company. "So, am I cooking dinner for one or for two?"
"You? I'm cooking dinner! And you're gonna eat whatever the hell I'm going to make. Go take a bath in the meanwhile, I'll handle it." Bucky ushered her towards her bathroom and she blinked. "What, I— hey! Wait!" He stopped pushing her. "Why are you cooking for me?"
"Because your dumbass doesn't eat shit it should be eating and instead eats what it shouldn't! You're anemic, and yet I never see you eating food that has high levels of iron in it. You just don't care about your life, do you?" Y/N laughed, pinching his cold cheeks. "You're really cute, you know? Dude, I'll be fine—"
"Okay, how about this? I'm doing this for myself because your blood tastes gross and I gotta fix it," he suggested. "I have a solution: why don't you go find someone else to be your food? Look, my blood tastes bad, so why waste all your time trying to fix it? Get someone else, kill them!" Bucky pulled a face.
"Kill them? You think you'll die if I bite you?" Y/N nodded slowly. "Um, no, sweet pie, you won't die if I bite you. You'll… maybe get sick for a few days, but then you'll be fine," Bucky explained. "What if I don't want to get sick for a few days either? Just go away, find someone else, make them sick!" Bucky pouted.
"You really don't want me to be here?" he whined. "I— Fine! Fine! Cook whatever the hell you want, stay, but on one condition." A huge smile bloomed on the vampire's face as he nodded. "You don't get to bite me, ever." His face fell. "Not even a little…?" Y/N shook her head. He pouted harder. Y/N stared back, unwavering.
"A little, small bite…?"
"Bucky, don't push it," Y/N warned and Bucky immediately raised his arms in surrender. "Now go take a bath, I'm making food." With a small smile, Y/N entered the bathroom, starting to fill the tub up with water as she sat on the toilet seat, thinking back a few hours.
How did this even happen? First, she wakes up to find a stranger on her bedroom floor gagging on her "gross" blood; second, he reveals that he is a vampire and third, he wants to take care of her and wants her to get better. Teenage her, who was quite fond of Twilight, would've loved this dude.
But now? Y/N was still skeptical, but at least Bucky hadn't pulled any sketchy shit. So far, he had been nothing but sweet. "Maybe I can give him a chance," she whispered to herself. She had no doubt about the fact that he was a vampire; he was always cold, had sharp, pointy teeth and she had practically seen him turn into a bat last night.
So yeah.
Y/N was going to allow a vampire to take care of her.
"Oh good, you're here," Bucky called out when she finally walked out of her room in her pajamas. "Smells good, what did you make?" Y/N smiled, sitting down at the kitchen island. Bucky placed a plate in front of her. "Beans. We'll start small. Do you eat meat?" Y/N nodded, eating a spoonful of the beans.
"Mm," she groaned, "These are so good! You're a great cook, Bucky." He rubbed the back of his neck shyly as Y/N beamed at him. "Thanks. My ma taught me, back in the 1500's." Y/N's eyes widened. "How old are you?" she asked with disbelief as she picked up the bread he had prepared along with the beans.
"A few centuries. You kinda lose count after a long time," he laughed. "Were you born a vampire or were you turned into one later in life?" Bucky pondered for a few seconds. "I was born one. My ma and my pa were both vampires." Y/N nodded before looking at him with a curious look. "What do you want to ask?" he teased upon seeing her expression. She chuckled.
"Can I become a vampire too?"
Bucky froze. "Do you want to be one?" he spoke slowly. "I mean, sounds cool, don't you think? Of course, I'm not completely sure, I just— wanna know how you turn someone into a vampire. Can you turn someone into one?" she blurted out. Bucky gulped hard; God knew he had been dreaming about turning her into a vampire ever since he had seen her.
Vampires having relationships with humans wasn't uncommon but he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And with vampirism comes one boon— immortality. So, if he turned her into a vampire, they could be together forever and always, literally. "I— I can turn people into vampires. All it takes is a neck bite."
Her brows furrowed. "But you bit me last night, am I—" Bucky shook his head. "You aren't a vampire, Y/N. There is a specific spot on a person's neck that you have to bite in order to turn them into a vampire. I didn't bite you there." She nodded and exhaled. "Good. I don't wanna be a vampire just yet, gotta think more before making a decision."
"So in the future maybe, you'll be open to becoming a vampire?" Bucky asked, his hopefulness shining through in his voice. Y/N laughed. "Wanna turn me into a vampire that bad?" she teased and Bucky looked away, an embarrassed look on his face. "I'm not desperate," he muttered. Y/N finished eating her dinner, did her nightly routine and got into bed.
Bucky soon approached with two pills in his open palm, his other hand holding a bottle of water. "Just gulp it quickly and you won't have to taste the pills," he reassured her as she eyed the pills with disdain. Putting her doubts aside, she quickly downed the pills, pulling a face as she did. Bucky ruffled her hair.
"Good job, sweet pie! See, easy, wasn't it? Now get a good night's sleep, I'll see you tomorrow evening." Y/N lay down on the bed, pulling the covers on top of her as she smiled sleepily at Bucky. "Goodnight, see you tomorrow," she yawned and Bucky gave her a huge smile before jumping out the window like he had done the night before; flying into the night as a bat.
---
"Bucky! Are you here?"
Y/N walked into her dimly lit house, confused. All the lights were off, the house lit by candles placed strategically here and there. She could smell roses too. "Hi, sweet pie." A gasp escaped Y/N lips when Bucky walked out of the kitchen. He was dressed in an all-black suit, a suave smile on his face. She stood frozen as he approached her, taking her hand.
He pressed a kiss to her knuckles and Y/N found her voice. "What is this, Bucky?" she chuckled. "Our six month anniversary, sweet pie. Did you forget?" he pouted. Y/N laughed harder. "We're not dating." His smile stayed confident. "Would you like to?" She paused mid-laugh, staring at him through wide eyes filled with disbelief.
"Are you… asking me out?" she whispered and Bucky nodded. "Oh my— yes! Yes, Bucky!" She ran forward and jumped into his arms, ignoring how cold he was as she hugged him tightly, burying her face in his neck. As he stated, six months had passed since Y/N and Bucky became friends and Y/N was quickly falling for him.
He was literally perfect. There was nothing she didn't like about him; she had even gotten over the fact that he was a vampire. "Oh, fuck, I thought it was gonna fail," Bucky laughed as he pulled her flush against him, one arm wrapping around her waist as she other cradled her head. "No way, Buck, I've liked you for a while now."
Both of them walked into the kitchen, where Y/N got another shock. The floor was covered in rose petals; they formed the shape of a heart. There was a bouquet of roses sitting on the dining table as well, between two plates of delicious-looking food. Next to the vase were two bottles of expensive champagne, and two glasses.
"How long did this take?" she whispered, snuggling further into Bucky's arms as she admired the scene in front of her. "A few hours. But all worth it." He pressed a quick kiss to her temple. "The rose heart looks awesome," she grinned, thanking Bucky when he pulled out her chair for her. "Ha, thanks," he laughed.
They maintained a light-hearted conversation as they ate dinner; afterwards, Y/N took a relaxing bath, took her medicines and got into bed. "Bucky," she called out tentatively and he turned to her. "Yes, my love?" She smiled shyly. "Will you stay the night?" Bucky grinned broadly. "Thought you'd never ask."
He stripped down; only in his boxers as he got into the bed with her. Before he could lay down Y/N pulled a pro-gamer move on him and straddled his lap, rendering him speechless. "Sweet pie," he groaned when her lips came crashing down on his. He grabbed the back of her head and pulled her close, kissing her deeper.
Somewhere in the kiss Bucky's hands reached the hem of her t-shirt and he broke the kiss to pull it off of her. Another few minutes in, Y/N found herself laying on the bed stark naked under Bucky, who was equally as naked, his hard length poking at her tight entrance.
"Bucky," she whimpered as he slid home, a deep moan leaving his lips. "Fuck, sweet pie, so fucking tight," he praised, one of his hands toying with her breasts as the other grabbed her headrest, using it as support as he thrust into her repeatedly. Y/N's hands fisted around her bedsheets, the pleasure in her abdomen becoming too much to bear.
"I'm close," she announced breathlessly and Bucky dropped his head, pressing kisses to her face. "I'm close too, just a minute more." Y/N tried her best to hold the pleasure in as Bucky's thrusts started becoming sloppier. "Such a good girl for me," he grunted as he felt himself inching closer to the edge.
"Let go for me."
Both of them let go at the same time, Y/N cumming around him with a soft whine as Bucky shot his load into her with a guttural snarl. "Oh, fuck," he panted as he fell on top of her, both of them out of breath. "Bucky, I— I wanted to ask you something," she whispered shyly as Bucky rolled off of her, only to pull her closer to him. "Yes, darling?"
"I wanna be a vampire."
Bucky turned to look at her, wide eyed. "Are you sure?" She lowered her eyes and nodded. "I— I love you, Bucky, and there's no one I'd rather be with than you. So please, make me— make me immortal." Bucky blinked back tears and cupped her cheek, tilting her chin up. "All mine. My beautiful girl. I love you too," he whispered, leaning in to press a soft kiss to her lips.
He then strayed to her jaw, peppering it with kisses until he finally reached her neck, nuzzling into it for a few seconds, breathing in her scent. Soon, he found the spot— the one that would turn her into a vampire. "It'll sting just a bit," he warned her, "Then you'll go to sleep. When you wake up, the transformation will be completed. Are you sure you want this?"
"I have never been so sure of something in my entire life." Bucky smiled and pressed a quick kiss to her spot before sinking his teeth into her neck; Y/N winced a bit at the sting but overall, felt fine. When Bucky pulled away from her, he was wiping blood off his lips. He then reached down and picked up her t-shirt.
Y/N smiled sleepily as he cleaned her neck, admiring the mark for a few seconds. "Looks good. And tastes much better." Y/N giggled and slapped his bare chest, making him grin. Both of them then lay down on the bed, arms around each other as they closed their eyes.
"Goodnight, Buck."
"Goodnight, princess, see you on the other side tomorrow."

Chapter 6
Lightwoods Reunion
The golden rays of the morning sun shone through the windows into their room, breaking the darkness and making it naturally bright.
Alec stirred when the rays fell on his face. He opened his sleepy eyes, only to find a hand tightly wrapped around his waist, a face buried in his chest and their legs entangled with each other. A warm smile crept on his face as he carefully untangled himself, making sure not to wake his precious warlock then left for the bathroom.
When Magnus didn't find the warm body beside him, he stirred and slowly woke up. Noticing that the other side of the bed was empty he started to panic but the sound of running water made him relaxed. Turning on his side, he gazed out of the window, the golden rays encaptivating his mind as he got lost in his deep thoughts.
Fifteen minutes later, Alec walked out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his lower body and hair wet, leaned down, and pecked Magnus on the temple.
"Morning love."
"Morning darling!" Magnus sat upright, leaned up, and pouted, earning a soft kiss over his pouting lips. While cherishing those lips he snapped his fingers and vanished the towel earning a cute yelp from his shadowhunter.
"Magnus!"
Magnus grinned and pulled his husband down, locking their lips in a hungry kiss. "Stay...."
"Sorry love, as much as I love that I'm getting late."
"Please?"
A sad smile formed on Alec's lips. "I can't, Magnus. I want to, but I really can't."
Magnus sighed. "Okay... I'll prepare breakfast then while you get ready."
"I'll have it at the Institute, I'm running late." He quickly got dressed with the help of his shadowhunter speed as he was actually getting late.
"When did you-"
"Shadowhunter!" Magnus looked at him wide-eyed then sighed.
"Sorry love, I'll see you tonight, bye." he planted a soft kiss on the top of his head then rushed out of the flat.
Magnus gazed out of the bedroom as he remembered the nightmare he had. The nightmare which turned true a month ago, the day when Alec almost died. If Jace and Isabelle hadn't reached on time, he would have lost his Alexander forever. He felt useless that he wasn't able to help him. He was in his arms, dying, and he couldn't do anything.
Tears started forming in the back of his eyes, he sighed and closed his eyes and a few drops fell on his cheeks.
*********************
When Alec reached the Institute he went to the institute's library straight ahead, telling everyone that it was important and not to disturb him when in reality he was researching further about the immortality spell and Kasper Windermere. He found a few books and took them to his office.
*Time Skip/ Few hours later*
Alec was in his office reading those books and researching more about them when he heard a soft click of heels approaching his office. A smile formed on his lips at the familiar sound.
"Hello, big brother!" Izzy said as she walked inside the office.
"Izzy!" he got up and embraced his sister in a tight hug.
"So! Hiding things from Magnus? You think that's gonna work out?" she asked when they broke the hug.
"It's working fine till now!" he shrugged earning a glare.
"What!?"
"That's why you need me to cover up for you?" She raised her brow and crossed her arms above her chest.
Alec bit his lip and sighed. "Fine Izzy! You know I'm not good at surprises, but I really want to this time. And... well it's not that I'm not getting help... So..."
"And who is that apart from me?" She said trying to sound upset.
"It's Catarina."
"Oh! Okay, so what are you planning Alec? Spill it..." Alec was about to say something when she spoke again, rearranging all the documents that were kept on his desk simultaneously. "So much paperwork... Don't you get tired, big brother?"
Alec froze when she picked the documentations on Kasper.
"Izzy! No! That's not..." Izzy's eyes went wide and her jaw dropped on the floor. "Ahhh..... Um mm... Paperworks." He stuttered and his heartbeats quickened as he witnessed millions of emotions flashing on his sister's face within a second.
He waited for her response, but when the silence got the better of him, he cleared his throat, his heart ready to leap out of his chest at any moment. "Uh... Izzy? Please say something!" this wasn't in the plan of events and the silence was getting under his skin.
"Alec! You want to become immortal!?"
"y...yes...."
"Oh! By the angel!" She shrieked, ran towards Alec, and hugged him tightly.
Alec breathed out with relief but was confused at the same time. "Iz! You're not mad?"
"Why would I be mad, Alec? Yes, I'm a little shocked, but if that's what you want, you know I'm always there for you." she pulled out of the hug, tiptoed, and pecked his cheek.
"Thank you, Izzy! It means a lot."
"Is THIS your big surprise for him?" She asked teasingly.
"There are few more but yes."
She raised her brow as she kept examining the documentations. "More?"
"Yeah! I'm thinking about a dinner surprise, a gift with an anniversary card, and a photo frame with all the pics of our anniversaries starting from our wedding collaged together."
Izzy's jaw was dropped on the floor yet again.
"Who are you and what have you done to my brother!!??"
"I'm Alexander Lightwood Bane and well, Magnus Bane happened!"
Izzy laughed. "Hmm... Magnus got you good then, big brother."
She shuffled through some papers for some time then spoke again. "A half angel and half Shadowhunter? Aren't you that already?"
"Well yes but not literally, I'm mortal, I'm not literally an angel!"
"How exactly have you came up with this Alec?"
"You know what happened a month ago, Izzy. I... Magnus is not doing well since then. He cries behind my back, he's not happy even when he shows he is. he gets nightmares of the day. I didn't know at first, he tried hiding it from me but when it started getting worse I made him talk to me, that's when he told me about them. He still gets them, pretends that he's completely fine, but I know he's not. I know he's worried about me dying one day, and I am not able to see him like this, this weak, this is not the Magnus I know, I want to do something for him." He paused for a minute then spoke again.
"I'm researching about becoming immortal since the time I heard him crying and saying how miserable he will be if I die. I thought about talking to him but when I noticed him pushing me away I knew he'll become more secretive if I did, which will end up in him getting more hurt than he is now. And well, when I read about the half angel and half Shadowhunter thing, I was sure I wanted to do it as by this spell," he pointed towards the stack of papers "I will be what I am, and I'll provide Magnus what he wants. All I want is for him to be happy. No matter what it takes."
Izzy listened to him carefully, completely awestruck by his love for Magnus. "You know what big brother, Magnus is a hell of a lucky man to have you in his life. If he'll ever hurt you I swear-"
"Iz!"
"Relax Alec, you know I love you both!"
Alec simply shook his head, sighed, and leaned against the desk.
"When are going to tell everyone about it?" she questioned further.
"Once I'll gather the information about the complete spell and how to perform it I'll ask everyone, Catarina is looking wherever she can, and I'm looking at the library and wherever possible."
"So you didn't plan on telling me about it today?" She gestured towards his desk.
"Umm... No, but I'm glad I did."
A warm smile appeared on Izzy's face. "Well, where are we going for lunch?"
He glanced at the time, noticing that it's past 12 already. "Wherever you want."
"Simon took me to a great restaurant here, let's head there, It's an amazing place."
They headed towards the restaurant Izzy had told him, ordered their food, and to Alec's surprise, he actually liked it and thought about coming with Magnus once.
"So apart from becoming immortal, what other things are you planning? And how can I help?"
"I want to plan a surprise dinner by the lakeside of Lynn and since Magnus is Indonesian, I want the whole menu to be Indonesian and all the decorations in the way he likes."
"Hmm... I can arrange that, plus the photo frame too... me and Clary can prepare it perfectly."
Alec cocked up his brow at that. "Don't worry big brother, we won't disappoint. What about the gift you were talking about?"
"I wanted to make the gift after becoming immortal, well, since you were the weapons head, I was thinking if you could do it?"
"Me? Oh! By the angel! What is it?" She squealed.
Alec shook his head at her excitement.
"You know Magnus and his love for jewellery, I was thinking a set of 3 diamond rings joined together with silver chains with small cut emeralds on it, the first and third sitting on the base of the fingers, the second one on the middle part of the finger, with the words FOREVER YOUR MLB engraved on each ring separately on top and AKU CINTA KAMU on bottom of the ring, each letter having small cut diamonds on it. Can you do it?"
Izzy's jaw was dropped on the floor for the third time that day and this time, literally. She was staring at her brother wide-eyed.
"Hey! Close your mouth little sister!" He put his fingers below her chin and closed her mouth shut. She blinked twice before speaking again.
"Alec! Are you all right! Is it really you!?"
"Isabelle Lightwood! Yes, it's me, and can you do it? Or I have to look for someone else!"
"By the angel! What has Magnus done to you!? I need to have a talk with him. And yes I'll do it, don't worry."
He laughed hard at her remark. "Thank you, Izzy!" He said in between the laughs.
"Stop laughing Alec!" She hit him gently on his arms.
"Well, how is Simon then? How's his training going?"
"He's doing good, you know what, he had beaten Jace 3 times last week with seraph daggers. I'm really proud of him."
The twinkle in her eyes didn't go unnoticed and a warm smile formed on his lips. He was glad that Simon was the best man to enter his sister's life, no matter how annoying that vampire was. "I'm happy that you're happy Izzy."
"Thank you, big brother!"
They finished the rest of the lunch in silence or chatting about random things and finally left for the Institute.
Alec felt really nice to have his sister beside him and not judging him for his choice to become immortal. He prayed that everyone would react the same. He went to his office and got back on researching for the complete spell, the sooner the better.

Chapter Four| Creepy Girlfriend
2009
THE WEEKEND WENT BY QUICKLY WITH ATHENA LOCKED IN HER ROOM WITH HER BROTHER JOINING HER WITH THE BRIBE OF PIZZA, and after the boy gave Sirius baked chicken the two let the boy join them in a Star Wars marathon. They made plans to watch Harry Potter the following weekend.
Athena and Jeremy stayed away from Elena and their Aunt Jenna the entire weekend, since the two wanted the youngest Gilberts to talk about their feelings. And the two continued ignoring them, so Athena drove to school in her green Bronco with Jeremy.
The younger Gilberts were eating in the back of the Bronco with the trunk open. Athena parked her car at a park. They were eating in silence until the girl asked a question.
“Do you think it’ll ever get better?”
Jeremy looks at his sister with wide eyes, shocked that the girl subtly brought up their parents. He knew just like him, Athena didn’t like nor want to speak about their parents death.
The boy sees the look in Athena’s eyes. He could see the girl’s genuine curiosity, and also saw the anger in her eyes. “I think that… we’ll never get to the way we were before, but we’ll grow and become stronger people once this dark cloud passes. Once we let it pass.”
Athena hums, looking out to the empty park in front of them. “I’m tired of being angry, Jer. I just want… to be happy.”
“You will be, ‘Thena.” Jeremy says, wrapping his arms around the girl. The two hug for a moment, it being the most contact the girl has had in months, and Athena pulls away. “Ew, you know I don’t do this mushy bullshit, Jer.”
Jeremy chuckles letting his sister pull away from him. He watches the girl jump off the bed of the truck, and adjusts her skirt before turning to him. “We should get to school. Wouldn’t want to be late.”
“Can we be late?” Jeremy asks, whining. The boy complies and helps his sister clean up the bed of the truck, throwing away their garbage. “Nope. I heard you’ve missed six classes already.”
“Please, don’t lecture me.” Jermey says, scoffing. The girl climbs into the driver's seat as he gets into the passenger seat, and the girl looks at Jeremy starting up the Bronco. “I’m not. I’m just letting you know that I heard Tanner called Aunt Jenna in about you.”
Jeremy groans, leaning his head against the headrest. “Great.”
The two didn’t speak about anything on the drive to school only sang - more like screamed - to The 1975. They almost missed their first classes. But the Gilbert girl made it to her class just as the last bell rang. She was sitting in her history class as Mister Tanner spoke to a sleeping class.
"Originally discovered nearly five centuries ago it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over a hundred and forty-five years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration."
Athena was drawing in her sketchbook - not much of a surprise since it wasn’t her favorite class. She seemed to be in her own little world. It almost seemed like she wasn’t really there.
"Are we bothering you? Mister Salvatore? Miss Gilbert." The man adds making Athena look up from her paper, only to see he was not looking at her, but her sister. Thankfully, the bell rings.
Athena jumps out of her seat and out the door wanting to get away from that classroom with the irritating man. She catches up with Caroline and Bonnie and hears the part of their conversation.
"I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline asks, looking at the Bennett girl. The blonde notices Athena and loops her arm with the girl. Bonnie smiles at the Gilbert girl, and answers the blonde’s question. "Technically, Grams says, I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it, but she was looped on the liquor. I tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches, I don't think so."
"Yeah, feel free to conjure up the name and number of that guy from last friday." Caroline says, smirking. "Ohh, new boy toy?" Athena says smiling, wiggling her eyebrows at the blonde playfully.
"Maybe, If Bonnie helps a girl out." Caroline says, looking at the Bennett girl. "I didn't see him. You did." Bonnie says, rolling her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Why didn't you just talk to him?" Athena asks, raising an eyebrow. She knew the girl always took the chance to speak to someone good looking. "I don't know. I was drunk." Caroline says, making the two laughs.
• • • •
"They're keeping her overnight, but she should be able to come home tomorrow." Matt says to Athena who asked about Vicki during their lunch break. The two were walking around the school.
The girl’s heels clicked on the cement as she walked. Athena hadn’t worn heels since her parents funeral, but she woke up wanting to wear heels. The girl decided on a black v-neck, light washed jeans, and animal print heels.
"That's good." The Gilbert girl says, nodding. The blonde, blue eyed boy sighs, running his hand through his air. "Yeah."
Athena hums, and thinks about the Donovan’s absent mother. "What about crazy mama?"
"Called and left a message. She's in Virginia Beach with her boyfriend. So we'll see how long it takes her to come rushing home." Matt says, shrugging. He knew he didn’t really need the woman, in fact he thought that his sister and himself were better off without the woman. "I’m just glad she’s okay." Athena says, looking up at the boy.
"Me too… And now there's talk of some missing campers." Matt says, remember the words he heard on the news that morning. "Did she see what kind of animal attacked her?" She asks, curiously.
"She said it was a vampire." Matt says amused, yet confused. "What the hell?" Athena stops walking. The two stop, as the girl looks at the boy wanting to know more.
The blonde male nods. "Yeah, she wakes up last night, mutters, 'Vampire,' and passes out."
"That's not weird." Athena says, sarcastically. The girl couldn’t help but think, out of all the things the girl could say, attack her, and she says a vampire. A creature that isn’t even real. It just confused Athena the more she thought about it.
"Think she was drunk.” Matt says, shrugging, then he sees the new kid sitting at a bench. “So, what's up with Elena and the new guy?"
"I have no idea, but I'm going to find out." Athena said, as she smirked looking at the back of Stefan’s head. "Don't scare the guy now... I'm actually gonna go back to the hospital. I wanna be there when Vicki wakes up, get the real story about last night." Matt said, walking backwards.
"Alright, I'm going to go bury a body. I-I mean make a friend." Athena says as the boy gives her a look, before turning around with a roll of his eyes.
"I guess I'll play nice." Athena says smiling, cheekily. "Good girl!" Matt yells, chuckling.
The girl turns back to where Stefan was sitting on a bench only to see he's gone. Athena frowns trailing her eyes to see if the boy was walking around, but it was like he completely disappeared.
"So, my sister wants to date a ghost?” Athena says, raising an eyebrow, but the girl shakes her head at the thought. “God, this town keeps getting weirder and weirder as the days go on."
• • • •
The school day came to an end for the students of Mystic Falls High School. When the Gilbert girl’s got home, Athena let Sirius out and fed the dog. They were then asked by their best friends to meet them at the Mystic Grill.
It took a while, but Elena convinced her sister to let her drive them. Athena agreed hesitantly, but climbing into her sister’s car nonetheless. Thankfully, the older Gilbert didn’t talk about feelings instead they talked about Vicki and Elena letting her sister talk about the book she was reading at the moment - The Diviners.
Athena and Elena saw their best friends sitting outside the Grill with fries and tea already at the table for Athena. “Oh, food.”
“Hello, to you too.” Caroline says, glaring at the girl playfully. The girl hums with fries in her mouth. The three girl’s began folding flyers for the comet as Athena drew in her sketchbook tuning out the girl’s until Bonnie began talking about her Grandmother, that’s when she became curious.
"I was talking to Grams. She said the comet is a sign of impending doom. Last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity." Bonnie says, explaining to the girl's her interest in the comet that was going to happen the following day.
"Mm. Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens." Caroline says, scoffing at her best friend. "My kind of woman." Athena said with a smirk, making the girls laugh.
"So, then what?" Care said then turned to Elena who was talking about her night with Stefan. One that Athena didn’t really want to hear about, but listen nonetheless. "So then, nothing." Elena says, shrugging.
"You and Stefan just... talked?" Athena asks, curiously. "There was no sloppy first kiss, or touchy-feely of any kind?" Caroline says, not believing the girl.
"Nope, we didn't go there." Elena says, shaking her head. "Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we are your friends. Okay? You are supposed to share the smut." Caroline says, almost offended.
"Okay, sister here, and gross." Athena says, disgusted. "We just talked for hours." Elena says shrugging, ignoring what her sister said.
"What is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already. Okay, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex." Caroline said, ignoring the looks she got from Bonnie and Athena. "Profound." Elena says glaring at the girl, playfully.
"Let them go on a couple dates first, I mean come on." Athena says, shaking her head. Sure the girl didn’t care if people slept together the first time they met, but if her sister really likes the guy - by the looks of it, she did - she thinks her sister should get to know Stefan before sleeping with him. "Says the seventeen year old virgin." Caroline says with a roll of her eyes.
"You know what, I'm happy being a virgin. Maybe I want to lose it someone I actually want to be with, not just someone I can't even look in the eyes the next day." Athena says, raising an eyebrow at the blonde.
"Where are you going?" Bonnie asks Elena, watching the girl stand and push in her chair. "Caroline's right. It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying I was gonna do." Elena says nodding to herself, then walks away.
"So, you’re just going to ignore what I just said about being a virgin and proud?" Athena yells after her sister. "Shhh! That's not something you yell to the world." Caroline says, shushing the girl, and hits her arm.
"Oh my god. Like it affects the whole world that Athena Gilbert hasn't been deflowered." Athena says rolling her eyes, sarcastically. The girl’s eyes then wided with realization. "Oh, fuck she's my ride.” The girl runs towards her sister’s car, as the other girl’s laugh behind her. “Goddamn it, Elena!”
