things i noticed while thoroughly rewatching d2
i found this in my notes from back in july 2022 and stand by it. mostly mevie, including core four, ben, ben & harry, umal exes & a hint of lonnie appreciation
- at the curl up n dye, not only did mal let evie have her moment with dizzy, but as soon as dizzy said it would make her so happy to know that evie is wearing something of hers in auradon, she stopped dead. she immediately looked at evie to check on her, she knew that statement would have an impact on her. as soon as she saw the heartbroken look, she put herself back into the convo . "e, we gotta go." then when dizzy left she took evies arm and guided her to the side. she let evie have a moment to get herself together. "she's gonna be okay." when she caught evie feeling bad again, she tapped her arm and took her arm, leading her away, starting an easy conversation so lighten the mood.
- after mal says "and i am, and will always be, the girl from the isle." her eyes water and when evie looks away she looks up so she doesnt cry. then she finds a distraction by pointing to the sign
- carlos and jay making fun of evie i cant do this . "you know how spontaneous she is bro" it starts off as an excuse but its pretty fucking accurate so jay just goes "right???" and i just know evie has done some stupid fucking shit before and the boys are annoying ass brothers but wbk
- no straight man grinds his way up the king .
- i'm looking at you harry
- bens into it
- "she's not my gf anymore" yeah ben u go . make sure ur pirate crush knows ur available
- ben is the definition of :]
- EVIES CARRYING MALS BAG FOR HER :(((((
- lonnie looks like a scary dog from the pound being held on a chain lead taking a few steps back growling ready to pounce on her enemies no i will not elaborate
- i also just decided that lonnie has adhd
- evie jay carlos and lonnie looking behind mal when shes saying the plan bc they know shes in a vulnerable position with her backturned and need to be aware of every movement . lonnie is glaring in a threatening manner and standing in a position that shows she means business . jays eyes are flickering between mal and the pirates, showing he's listening but still watching for any movements. carlos is looking straight into mal's eyes. theyre communicating via body movement. evie is angled closer to mal, she's there to protect if anyone lunges at mal and watching closely for any danger
- as soon as mal turns back, evie's stance soon relaxes. she rests her arms against the sides of the bridge knowing mal no longer needs protection
- evie leaping through the air behind mal doing her little dancy dance while everyone's fighting
- evie was the one who noticed dude. after carlos went "we're dead." she subtly leaned next to him and whispered in his ear, when mal looked back for help, that's when he nodded to dude. evie saved her gf whats new
- ben getting held off the plank: :] vs ben when uma finally gives him back: :0
- mal after pinning uma "you miss me?" oh u wanna kiss so bad .
- harry is using sword fighting as an excuse to flirt with every vk such a pansexual pirate
- evie vs her heels being her best and favourite weapon
- mal i am in love with you
- descendants vs having the hottest fucking characters
- ben you dont just compare ur gf to her worst enemy and ex gf like that someone get this man a book on dating
- jay and mal being the emotionally stunted ones of the group and it works bc they understand each other and even though they bicker they love each other immensely i'm gonna punch through a wall
- "so ur not seeing happys son or anyone else." ur girlfriend is gay
- id love to go to auradon prep . like imagine the drama dude like . omg did u hear the king serenaded the new vk girl while his gf watched and then asked her to the coronation AND THEN his now ex kissed charmings son in front of him . then the kings new girls mother crashed the coronation and new girl cried and killed her with the power of friendship but then she got sad and ran away and king ben got KIDNAPPED and then at cotillion he cheated on new girl with an octopus and then they fought in water and then they kissed and kings ex was jealous of new girl so she terrorised the kingdom and turned us to STONE
- MAL CHECKING ON EVIE BEFORE TURNING TO A DRAGON
- JAY AND CARLOS CATCHING BEN WHEN HE SLIPS ON DECK IM CRYING
- EVIE MAKING JOKES :( "just a little bit"
- mal tracing patterns on evies back <3
- i started this movie four hours ago this is what happens when someone with adhd watches descendants

What a Pirate (Harry Hook x reader)
Tumblr media
summary: After the core four leave for Auradon y/n is left to fend for herself on the isle, it’s a hard and lonely life-then her path crosses with certain flirty pirate.
word count: 3,660
Evie tool y/n’s hands in hers, “don’t worry y/n, we’ll be back in no time.“ She assured her friend. Slowly she pulled her into an embrace before turning and ducking into the limbo from Auradon.
“Yeah in no time.“ Jay confirmed with a smirk and a quick wink. He ruffled her hair lightly before getting in the limbo-hat in hand. Then y/n realized that the gold crown that was on the front of the limbo was gone. Smooth Jay, smooth.
“I don’t even wanna go.“ Mal said-throwing her bag into the limbo. “Going to school with a bunch of prissy princesses sounds...gross. No way am I staying there long...“ With a wink she got into the limbo too.
Carlos’s mom came running out after him but he had made it into the limbo quickly. “We’ll miss you!“ Evie shouted out to y/n and she smiled sadly.
“You guys better not forget about me.“ y/n joked.
Carlos stuck his head out of the limbo, “catch“ he said, tossing a shiny thing her way.
y/n looked down at the item in her hand-a small silver pocket watch.“What’s this for?” She asked, looking back.
Carlos shrugged, “Now I have to come back to get my watch.” y/n smiled, nodding at her friend. Then the limbo drove off.
Well that was almost four months ago now.
“We’ll be back in no time.“ y/n reminded herself, taking a big bite out of an apple. It was more bitter than she would have liked it to be but this was the Isle, and at least it wasn’t the worst meal she had eaten. She forced herself to swallow the food, trying to think of something positive. The only thing that she could think of were her friends-the hope that she’d see them soon.Without them she felt sad, forgotten...alone. But at least they could have better lives in Auradon. And if the cost of that was her being lonely- then so be it.
y/n continued to take bites out of her apple, eventually dropping the core when she finished. She stood, catching a glimpse of Auradon in the distance and stared for a moment. She reached in her pocket to feel Carlos’s watch, but it wasn’t there. Oh no. She checked her pockets suddenly feeling a small wave of panic when it wasn’t there. Great going y/n you lost it. She sighed, looking up at the sky and took a deep breath.
y/n got down from the building’s roof and was making her way through the cluttered market, keeping her hands in her pockets when she caught a flash of something shiny a couple of feet ahead of her. She stopped in her tracks, looking up and her mouth fell open. That was without a doubt Carlos’s watch. It’s chain hung motionless from someone’s pocket. A small boost of confidence made it’s way into y/n as she approached the person. Then she saw who was in possession of the watch and her confidence faded.
That was Harry Hook.
Harry freaking Hook.
Out of all the people that could have had the watch, it just had to be Harry. Pick pocketing him probably wouldn’t end well, it never did for anyone. But she glanced back down at the watch then to him, then to the watch again. He was distracted-talking to some girl. y/n bit her lip, feeling desperate. Just take it and leave she told herself, easy peasy. But that didn’t stop her legs from shaking as she made her way towards the pirate. Her eyes remained ahead of her as she lightly brushed against the boy’s side-fingers quickly slipping the watch from his pocket to hers. Ok go get away. She mentally yelled at herself, but she forced herself to keep her pace the same-not wanting to draw any suspicion.
Once she was a few feet away she looked back to Harry-he was gone. Her jaw dropped for a moment before she quickly hid behind the nearest wall. She quickly scanned her surroundings-noticing a ladder on the side of the building in front of her. Quick escape. She stepped towards it, reaching her hand out  but before she could grab hold of the ladder someone grabbed her wrist from behind, stopping her. Before she could react a she felt something cool on her shoulder and was spun around before being backed into the wall. Now against the cool wall,  goosebumps formed up her spine as she looked up towards her captive. Then she was face to face with Harry Hook. He had his infamous grin as he looked down at her-obviously pleased about having successfully trapping her against the wall. He was really quite attractive-but he could also be annoying.
“Well, well...well.” He whispered in his Scottish accent. Raising his hook up to her face slowly, he stroked her jawline with the cool metal as a form of intimidation. “y/n...” He said widening his eyes a little.
“Hook.” y/n spat in response.
His smile widened at the tone of her voice. “aww...” He pouted sarcastically, “ye mad?” y/n stared directly at him with an impassive expression. Harry shook his head, “tsk tsk tsk. It appears ye’ve taken somethin’ of mine.” He lowered his hook, keeping her pinned against the wall.
“What could I have possibly taken from you?” y/n sneered.
“Oh I don’t know....” He said glancing up in thought. “Maybe this?” He held up the pocket watch that had been in her pocket with his hook. y/n’s eyes widened as her mouth gaped open. “Ye know, ye should really be more careful when ye pickpocket someone...especially if that someone is me...” He breathed in her face, glancing down at her lips.
y/n got her expression under control again “Actually, you took that first. It’s mine.“
Harry chuckled lightly, “Well, now it’s mine.” He told her seriously now. “But that doesn’t change the fact that ye tried stealing from me.” He let his hook go back to her face, brushing her hair to the side. “And ye know what happens to people who steal from me?”
y/n smiled-only making Harry even more pleased-If anyone else was in y/n’s position they’d be trembling but she wasn’t, he smiled-enjoying the change in reactions. “I’m guessing you ‘hook’ them?” y/n answered.
“Correct.” He whispered, brushing her jaw lightly once more with his hook-he was really enjoying this. “But...” He thought, lowering his hook. “Maybe I can make an acception...for ye...maybe we can make a trade.”
“And what do you propose goes into this trade?” y/n asked.
“Well...ye get to walk away and keep this watch that you seem to be so obsessed with.”
y/n raised a brow in suspicion, “that sounds too good to be true, what’s the catch?“
“Catch?“ Harry asked, pretending to be offended. “This is a deal, there’s no catch.“
“I mean what do you get? Why would you let me go?“
“ah...“ Harry’s smile only widened as he leaned closer to her. “Ye get to go because what I want...is a good price“
“And what do you want?” y/n questioned, “whatever it is can’t be good.”
Harry leaned in even closer, brushing his nose against y/n’s. The close proximity made y/n nervously shift her eyes to the side before quickly looking back at him-she hoped he didn’t notice, but he did. And he loved that he could make her nervous. “What I want...“ Harry said pausing for dramatic effect, “is...a kiss.“
y/n’s breath hitched for a moment as her mouth parted in surprise. “wh-” she closed her mouth again.
“Speechless?” Harry asked the girl, tilting his head he brushed his nose against hers once more. “It’s a fair trade if ye ask me, lass.” He whispered into her ear, making her shudder. Knowing the effect he had on her, Harry smiled-leaning away again he let his lips lightly brush against her jaw line. “So what do ye say?”
y/n looked at the boy then to the side. “I get the watch?” She asked.
“That was what the deal...” Harry confirmed, smiling mischievously.
y/n stared at nothing for a moment before snapping her attention back to the pirate. “Fine.”
Harry smiled wider, before making his move. He slowly leaned in closer, bringing his hand up to her chin to tilt her head back then placed his lips against hers. The kiss was way different than she thought it would be, it was slow, soft and Harry was gentle. He brought his other hand-he must’ve set his hook down earlier-to the small of her back to pull her away from the wall and closer into his chest. Then a voice rang out from somewhere further away-pulling the two back to reality. “Harry! Uma wants you!” Yeah that was Gil. Harry pulled away with a menacing look in his eyes-looking towards the direction where the voice came from. Strangely, y/n was disappointed with how fast that had happened.
“Well then.” y/n said quickly recovering, she put her hand out to Harry, palm up. Harry’s arm was still around her as he looked down, but he stepped back letting her go and pulled the watch out of his pocket.
“On second thought...” Harry smiled, looking down at the watch. “Of I keep this, ye got no choixe but te keep seein-”
“Hook.“
“Ye can call me Harry ye know.“ Harry said, placing the watch in her hand. “Why’s that thing matter so much to ye anyway?“
y/n put the watch in her pocket, crossing her arms over her chest before looking back up to the pirate, “Someone important wanted me to hang on to it for a bit.“ She said truthfully, “as a promise.“
“A promise, eh? Who gave it to ye? Boyfriend.“
“That’s none of your business.“
Harry grinned once more, tilting his head to the side. “Nah, couldn’t have been a boyfriend. If ye had a boyfriend ye wouldn’t like me...yer not the cheatin’ type.“
“And who says I like you?“ y/n asked with a laugh.
“Well nobody had to say it.“ Harry responded, then he leaned in whispering into her ear, “If ye didn’t like me, ye wouldn’t’ve kissed me the way ye did.”
y/n opened her mouth in shock much to Harry’s entertainment. “Got to go.“ He said casually, putting his hook back on, “I trust that I’ll be seein’ more of ye.“ He started to walk away.
“What makes you think that?“ y/n asked louder so that he could hear.
He turned his head back to answer, “Well cuz I have this.” He held up one of y/n bracelet. For the third time y/n’s mouth fell open as she looked down at her right wrist-which now had no jewelry on it.
What a pirate.

The Law Of Total Madness ~ H.H
Tumblr media
Pairing: Harry Hook x Reader (yes I wrote Got7 into this sue me) + (please don’t I’m broke 🤦‍♀️)
Y/N’s P.O.V
Being Chad Charming’s twin sister was an interesting occurrence, Ben being your best friend for your whole life and growing up around Chad expectation of the perfect sister was exhausting this was where you found your love for singing and dancing thanks to Ben. He also introduced you to your other best friend prince Yugyeom originally from Jypnation and 6 other his friends who made music together the 8 of you were always glued together, you stuck together and turns out it was good for you to get away from Chad he may of been your brother and yes you loved him but god was he unbearable! Even better the 8 of you talk in korean to confuse anyone trying to ease drop Princess love to be some nosey bitches, you were a hip hop dancing, princess role breaking rebellious free soul and Chad HATED that. Perhaps the icing on the cake was that you were secretly dating a Scottish pirate, the only son of Captain Hook, the love of your life Harry Hook. It happened when you and Ben were kidnapped with Ben after convincing him you should go with him for “protection” when really you just wanted to wag chemistry class they kept you and Ben seperate and you and Harry ended up in a long make out session about 15 minutes before the most epic battle you’d ever witnessed, Ben announced that after 6 months since Dizzy, The Twins and Celia came to auradon that 3 more vks would be coming over! Hoping it would be Harry, Uma and Gil you talked to Gil while ‘kidnapped’ you two were close it was nice he seemed genuinely like a good guy, it was nice that he’s loyal to his crew and today was the day they were to arrive. Ben, Chad, Mal, Carlos, Jay, Evie, Doug and I were all gathered around waiting for them to show them around and such, the limo pulls up and all three vks get out my chest gets tight thinking about seeing him again yeah we starting “being a thing” very quickly but I liked him a lot I knew that much “Welcome to Auradon” Ben smiles “Try not to break anything” Chad snarls and I smack him over the head earning a deep chuckle from Harry as he smirks at me “it’s very colourful here” Gil smiles he’s too pure omg “well I would love too stay and help but I promised NaNa I’d be at practice 10 minutes ago, it was lovely too see you all again.” I wave before running off towards the school dance hall and quickly issuing magic to get changed into a red crop top and some high waisted black shorts with black converse, damn I was too cute for my own good sometimes, poor Chad never got any magic my parents had me enchanted when I was little so I could protect myself.
Harry’s P.O.V
“I apologise for Princess Y/N’s departure she’s preparing for a very important event and competition as a representative for Auradon, if any of you need her she’s typically in the dance hall!” Ben hints looking towards me it’s not like her and I were seriously anyways, yeah I liked her, a lot but I’d barely say I thought about her. That’s a lie everyday that stupidly gorgeous girl plagued my mind and she just runs off before I can have her in my arms again, how selfish? Does she even still care about me, about us, we had a connection fuck I knew feelings and l..l...lov that l word made you weak, how pathetic I thought I had a happily ever after.
We go through the entire of auadorn and finally reach the Dance Hall we hear loud music coming from within and I peek in seeing Y/N practicing “let’s watch!” Ben opens the door and we stand at the back my eyes fixated on the gorgeous girl dancing her heart out, “she’s gonna win” Chad laughs at Gils proud statement “please who does she think she is this isn’t the isle she should be in a castle or locked in a tower” Chad snorts “I’m sorry say that again Princey” I growl “cool it” I hear Uma whisper “you wanna get found out huh” she follows. “He’s an ass” I mutter focusing back on the events in front of me Y/N walking towards us with a big smile “what did you think?” She asks as her sparkling eyes meet mine before Chad can even open his mouth I reply “Ye did very good indeed” winking at the now blushing princess “anyways” she chirps “we need 3 more female dancers to back up Yugyeom and I’s duo for the competition, because as much as I’d love too see Jackson, Mark and BamBam in skirts with wigs and heels... I don’t wanna frighten the audience” she giggles looking behind her at the 7 boys now making their way over once they reach us the throw Y/N a questioning look before speaking in what I can only assume in another fucking language.
Y/N’s P.O.V
I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss Harry I did and as much as I wanted to run into his arms and breathe in his scent and glory I know I can’t, I lean over to Uma to get closer to Harry “Hey Uma, I don’t know if ben told you but we are sharing a room, I’m barely ever in my dorm so don’t worry I won’t bother you!” I smile and she just scoffs she’s not the biggest fan of me I mean she did kidnap Ben and I after all, I couldn’t blame her though the Isle was shocking I would wanna get out too I am kinda thankful cause of it I found Harry. That was if he still even liked me, I heard from Mal he’s a player and no good that he flirted with anything that moved I mean one of the old exchange students Nana did that too, and he was harmless I was just hoping Harry’s flirting was too.
“Yugyeom, can we finish I wanna show em to the dorms?” I smile to the fluffy haired boy sweat dripping down his white shirt making it slightly see through “only this once ya, usually I’m the one to try cut practice shorty” he laughs “sweet, don’t forget we go all day tomorrow with the boys!” I point to our 6 other friends and wave shooting them a wink before turning around seeing everyone but the pirates had left “well I’ll shall show you to your rooms I guess” I lead the way to the dorms it’s a bit awkward and the silence burns.
“So Y/N” Gil cuts the air “what’s this competition?” He smiles coming and placing an arm around me I hear Harry growl but I just let Gil rest his arm on me “well it’s a multi-kingdom performance competition, we must sing and dance and the winner’s kingdom hosts a massive party and a heap of important musical performers come for all necks of the woods too play and come watch!” I smile getting excited just thinking about it “Yugyeom and I have a duo, I have a solo and so does he, then a boy group performance and then a girl group performance if we win 3/5 of the categories Auradon will host its first ever K fest, it’ll be amazing!” I stop abruptly “our duo performance is gonna be the best we’ve ever done, and we’ve done a lot” I chuckle “anyways this is the boys dorm 701 Gil and Harry are here and then just down the all at 690 is where Uma will be if y’all need her. Your belongings will be inside for you if you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask” I turn around and walk to my room Uma in tow “so Y/N, been a while huh?” She laughs “indeed it has, how’re you feeling about all this?” I ask pointing around “it’s where I’ve always wanted to get my crew, I got Gil and Harry here, now I need to work on the rest” I see a glint of sadness in her eyes “I’m only really here because I care about those boys and they don’t deserve to rot on an island, yeah they’re dicks and trouble but they’re loyal to me so I am loyal to them, they fight for me so I fight for them. Always!” I was shocked Uma was really caring I didn’t expect this side of her “I’m only telling you this because I know you and Harry are a thing” she pays my back “wait we still are?” I ask hopeful “yeah, the moment he gets you alone he’ll be all over you like a hungry wolf, watch ya back” she laughs I take a deep breath “thank you Uma I wasn’t sure he even still knew me” I lay on my bed and my stomach grubmles “girl you’re so busy dancing you don’t eat” Uma scolds “come on” she grads my hand “were getting you some food!” Running out the door she takes me too the kitchen and starts making food “I used to have make chips all the time at the shop, so hopefully Auradon sir makes them taste better than the grubby isle ones” she scoffs “Uma, can I ask something?” I nervously fiddle “sure princess what’s up?” She says cutting up potatos “Did Harry’s father ever abuse him?” She seems taken aback “it’s just I remember telling Harry I’d stay behind he just had to pretend he had me at sword point, and he said he’d never even pretend to do such a thing because he wasn’t his father.” I wipe a few tears I was confused was Harry harmful “Harry gets his father’s temper or therefore lack of, he had outbursts, I’m sure he’ll still have them, yes to put it shortly his father before he was in the crew would often abuse him. But it wasn’t uncommon, not in the isle love is a weakness.” “Then am I weak for loving him no matter what Uma” why was I even opening up to her “no because I think you could be good for him, just don’t turn him” she jokes “or I’ll use this” she holds her shell out “yes captain!” We laugh. “Maybe finally having a roommate won’t be so bad aye” I smile as she cooks Uma might actually be a really great friend and she knows more about Harry than anyone else maybe Hook and I could work.
*The Next Day*
“Those boys I swear are always late” I mutter to no one in particular “now what’s a gorgeous girl like you doing standing ‘ere all alone?” My heart jumps hearing his voice again “Hi Harry” I turn around smiling “ye know isle got boring without a princess to kiss” she smirks “is that so, awe Harry did you miss me” I joke about he moves closer “believe me or not love, I actually did. Let’s say you left a bit of a mark on me so to speak” I giggle “now come here babe” I pull him in for a long and heated kiss “Lovely doing business with ye princess” he smirks spinning around and walking out. What the actual fuck was that, what is he playing at I’m not just some toy, I turn on the music and start dancing to Bonnie & Clyde by Dean nothing can distract me not even Harry.
Harry’s P.O.V
I fucked it up I panicked and played fuck boy player again the confident fascade is what I’m know by I must keep it up, show no emotion, no weakness. Sorry princess. It’s just how I am.
I walk to uma’s room and knock on the door “yeah what” I hear her shout “it’s me” and like that the door flies open “Where’s Gil?” She questions “running round with Jay apparently they’re besties or whatever I’m just letting the dog loose” I plop myself down on the princess’ bed “geez Auradon beds are comfy” I sigh “I don’t think your little girlfriend would appreciate your smelly leather and metal scent over her sheets” Uma jokes “not me girlfriend” I point out “I’d watch it if I were you then, she gushed on about that Yugyeom boy for a very long time, of she ain’t yours surely she’ll be his I mean they’re never not together.” As if on cue in walks Y/N “Hey Uma did you see where I put my tablets, the ones with the orange jar, I’ve got a massive headache.” She rubs her head still unaware I’m laying on her bed “yeah left hand side of the bathroom counter top” she smiles did I miss something what are they all of a sudden so... friendly...
“Thank you so much oh and by the way I’ll be back late tonight so don’t wait up I’ll sneak in, Yugyeom and I have to rehearse til late cause Ben wants to come watch us and make sure it’s all good” I watch as she leaves then I close my eyes and drift off too sleep surprisingly.
“Harry wake up omg” I hear as I open my eyes too see Uma standing above me “what?” I ask rubbing me eyes then picking up me hook “get off of Y/N’s bed and wake up she’s gonna be here soon” she scoffs “surely she wouldn’t mind a handsome looking lad in her bed waiting for ‘er” I laugh.
Y/N’s P.O.V
“Ben I don’t really understand?” I question “you want us... to kiss?” I point between Yugyeom and I “yes the chemistry is there I’m telling you it’s the winning touch, the performance is so dynamic it just needs the big ending, it’ll leave everyone shocked, stunned and more importantly it shows how well you work together.” The king smiles “are you sure this is a good idea?” He’s gone crazy completely mad oh this is not going to end well “let’s call it a day you two need to eat and back again tomorrow for more practice” Ben smiles holding the door open for us both, “he’s not serious right Y/N” Yugyeom whispers “I hope he’s not, but something tells me he is, it’s fine gyu we are the best this is nothing!” I smile placing a hand on his shoulder “what about that boy?” He asks in a small voice “we aren’t dating he made that very clear, who cares this is our dream we are so close!” I smile side hugging him and briefly laying my head on his “fighting!!” I smile before grabbing his hand and walking to my dorm he always walks me to the door of my room when we practice late “Thanks Yugyeom!” I smile “let’s work hard tomorrow!” I hug him really tightly saying goodbye and open the door to find Uma working on something and Harry asleep on my bed “I don’t remember ordering a strange man in my bed, Uma I think this ones for you.” I point to the pirate passed out on my bed “he’s been like that for hours, I don’t think he’s sleeping at night” Uma shrugs “I’ll be back I have to go try round up Gil watch the scot” I laugh before going to change clothes in the bathroom I walk out no more than 10 minutes later and he’s still there snoring away. “Harry I told you if you were struggling to come find me” I play with his hair and carefully remove the hook placing it right next to my bed I grab the spare blanket from the cupboard and put it over him and when I go to walk away I hear “Please, just stay with me love” he says almost way too soft “I’ll explain later just please” I notice he’s shaking must be nightmares or ptsd “it’s okay Harry I’m right here, I’m always gonna be okay” I smile placing a soft kiss on his forehead and jumping into the free slither of bed he’s left much for my surprise he moves and pulls me close with his arm around my stomach before I know it I’m fast asleep.
Harry’s P.O.V
I woke up and there she was in my arms and it felt right, it felt like nothing could ruin this moment until once again I panicked I’m not used to feeling this I grab my hook and leave her all alone, pangs if guilt hit me but I ignore them I’m a pirate the best one I don’t need feelings they make you weak and I will never be weak. I will make my father proud he will call me his son and I’ll finally have a family, I don’t need some stupid princess to distract me.
Y/N’s P.O.V
I woke up alone in my bed with nothing left but the memory and slight scent of metal and the ocean, or was it leather? Doesn’t matter now he used me again and I let him, I need to watch myself no distractions that would discredit all of Yugyeom and I’d hard work I’m letting Harry ruin this for me. That being said another day another practice T-minus 1 week until we gotta rock this competition he’s obviously gotta work himself else I ain’t here for his amusement ugh, today there’s a big school meeting where we perform some songs as a taster for the school and our sister school (team) Ateez High are sending over their recruits to perform, I can’t wait we have had these prepared forever so we got this in the bag.
{Might do a series on this one, kinda proud my first imagine for Harry Hook x Y/N reader I had to add something kpop okay just bear with me! Got a few requests so I’ll be getting right into them⚡️🤍}

Colors/A Huma Fanfiction
When Harry met Uma she wore purple and black. Probably because that was the pallet of colors she had. But it changed shortly after he met her. He never thought much of it, just her branding herself as her own person and not just Ursula's daughter. But maybe there was a reason for it.
A lot of VKs took their parents colors and based their wardrobe on that. It was a way to show people who they were messing with. Just by seeing Mal's purple, green, and black outfits you would know she was Maleficent's daughter and steer clear of that. The hook children all wore their fathers signature red coat so everyone knew exactly who they were. But Uma was different, she didn't wear purple and black. Or at least not for very long, not for very long at all. Her branded color was very curious though. No one really knew why she chose those colors. The people closest to her just thought it was from her love of the ocean, and really it kind of was.
When she chose these colors they also chose her. Those who had magic in their veins, the ones whose parents had used magic, had a very interesting ability. When they were young children, when they attached themselves to a color the color did the same and their hair changed. This how Mal had purple hair, how Evie had dark navy blue hair, and how Uma had Teal, turquoise hair. Because that's how she wanted it.
Harry loved everything about it though. He loved how perfectly it contrasted against her skin, giving her a beautiful glow. He loved how even though her eyes weren't blue they were still brought out by the vibrant green/blue. He loved how fierce it made her look. He really loved how it reminded him of the ocean. But what he loved most is that it was so uniquely her and it made him feel safe. Whenever, wherever he was, when he saw that color he felt safe, he felt happy.
Everyone knew this was HER color. So it was quite odd when Evie started asking about everyone's favorite colors, like isn't it obvious. The princess had decided that Uma and Mal's crews needed to do more socializing and get to know each other better. Even if it was just the simple stuff.
So that's how they ended up here. In the living room of Mal and Ben's castle, each telling different, interesting facts about themselves. Evie for some reason decided each person needed to tell the group their favorite colors.
"Why don't we start with you Gil" Evie said
"Oh, uh I like brown. Oh and yellow, and black. Pinks pretty too. Orange is nice. I like all the colors, my favorite is maybe yellow. No, brown. No, yellow. Yeah yellow" Gil explained very befuddled
"Nice I like yellow too" Evie replied sweetly, being very patient with Gil "And you Harry?"
"What do you think princess?" Harry said annoyed
"C'mon Harry"
Harry sighed deeply, rolling his eyes. "Crimson. Happy?"
Evie nodded in reply "And you Uma"
Uma also sighed, but decided to answer so the conversation would be over quickly. "I like green, when it almost looks blue. And I like blue, when its almost green. So Teal, aqua, turquoise. Whatever you wanna call it." Uma stated
"Question" Mal piped up from her spot on the couch. "Why did you choose that color? I always wondered?" Mal asked Uma
"Cause I like it" Uma stated simply
"Yes I gathered that much, I was wondering if there was a real symbolic meaning behind it" Mal said
Uma shrugged "it makes me feel safe...and happy"
Harry furrowed his brow at her. He felt the same way about the color because it reminded him of Uma. Uma always made him happy. But he couldn't help but wonder why it made Uma feel "safe and happy."
"Wow, great explanation" Mal said sarcastically but decided to drop the topic.
"Wait, Why?" Harry said his thoughts aloud the words kinda just coming out of his mouth.
Uma looked him in the eyes and cocked her head to the side confused by his question.
"Sorry... Nevermind" Harry said looking back at her.
Although it was a stupidly simple question they had never talked about their "favorite colors." Probably because they were fighting and watching their backs every second of every day. Probably because they lived on the isle and even talk like that would be considered weak. But she was his best friend, it would still be nice to talk about this stuff, even if it was so stupidly simple.
"Whatever" Uma waved him off
Evie then continued with her little game and that's how the night went on. It was actually nice catching up with their new friends. Although none of them would ever say it, it was a very enjoyable evening.
It would only be months later, when Harry figured out a deeper meaning behind her favorite color. Months later when they were "officially" dating.
********************
"Uma" Harry said smiling at Uma looking her in the eyes
"Harry" Uma said looking back
They were currently out at the beach. Not a lot of people were there, especially at the spot they were at. They weren't going to call it a date because they had invited Gil, but he was busy. But yeah, it was a date.
"You know Uma we're pretty lucky" Harry said brushing his hand through the sand
"What do you mean?" Uma asked
"I mean, not a lot of people can say they've known each other for as long as we have. The fact that I can say I've known you for my whole life is pretty awesome. The fact that I've not wasted a whole lot of my life looking for you, but spending it with you." Harry said smiling
"Yeah" Uma trailed off "look at the sunset Harry"
It was a beautiful sight. Something they never got to see on the isle.
"Look at where the sun meets the ocean. The reason for your favorite color. That iridescent blue." Harry said
"That's not the reason for my favorite color" Uma said
"The ocean?" Harry questioned
"No" Uma responded "Well kinda"
"Do tell" Harry said curiously
"When we were on the isle it was in my blood to be drawn to the ocean, I yearned for it the day I was born. But as you know there was hardly any water, definitely not enough to call an 'ocean.' But I still saw the ocean as my home and like I was just far, far away from that home." Uma stated, Harry listening intently. "But then I met you. I took one look at your eyes and I knew you were my ocean. The home I'd been searching for." Uma looked at Harry. "The way your eyes are blue but they seem green, or maybe they're green and they look blue. I never knew, but that little area where the two colors intersect, it's beautiful. That color made me feel Happy, it made me feel safe, so I made it mine. So I would always be reminded that I had a little piece of the thing I yearned for most. Guess that's another good thing about knowing you my whole life" Uma said smiling
Harry was quite shocked by this confession. Feelings were still new to them and this seemed like a lot, all at once.
"I love the color too. Because it reminds me of you, because your what I yearn for." Harry said
Uma knew this. Uma knew Harry was drawn to her as any pirate would be drawn to the sea. They were two people that loved the sea.
"Promise me something Harry" Uma said
"Anything" Harry replied
"You'll always be my ocean"
"Always"
As odd as that sounded, both knew exactly the depth of that statement and what it truly meant. So they would forever keep that promise.

Love Finds A Way
(sequel to “see You Again”) ( A Harry Hook x reader love story)
Part 8
Just over on the other side of the metal pipe Hadley, Evie and Mal were waiting.
When the limo stopped Carlos hopped out of the back and Jay and Lonnie got out of the front.
“Lonnine?” The three questioned.
“I made them bring me.” Lonnie said as she hugged then.
“I'm so glad” Mal said.
“Welcome to the Isle” Evie said as she side hugged her.
Jay and Carlos went to the trunk opening it up to reveal a stowaway.
“And Dude.”
“I told you to stay” Carlos scolded
“I flunked obedience class.”
“Great and he can still talk” Jay looked at Carlos.
“You're lucky I love you” Carlos said to Dude as he pulled him out of the trunk.
Jay grabbed the case of swords and slung it over his back before shutting the trunk.
“Ooh. Here let me see it” Mal reached her hand out for the fake wand.
Carlos handed it over to her and she inspected it.
“Wow, what a beauty”
“Guys, it's noon” Hadley glanced at the pipe.
Mal handed the wand back to Carlos who stuck it in his jacket.
“Alright. Are we ready?” Mal looked at each one of them.
” Yep”  Evie and Hadley both held up the bags with the smoke bombs.
Mal nodded and took the lead, heading through the tunnel.
Hadley and Evie followed, Lonnie behind them and Jay and Carlos at the every end.
The walk through the pipe was only a minute but to Hadley it felt like hours.  A million thoughts ran through her mind. What if they couldn't get out in time and she had to fight him? What could she say to him? What else would he say?  The broken look on his face just hours earlier burned into her brain.
Evie must have seen because she grabbed Hadleys unoccupied hand and squeezed it.
Hadley gave her a small smile and they stepped out of the pipe and on to the docks.
The Lost Revenge was swarming with Umas crew.
Hadley immediately caught a glimpse of Harry's jacket.
He was pushing a bound Ben and Ruby towards the end of the ship.
He pushed them  hard and been stumbled, Harry opened his arms,
“Welcome!”
The VKs stopped at different points on the dock. Jay, Lonnie and Evie behind Mal, Carlos on the upper deck, and Hadley directly in front of the plank. Watching Harry torment Been and Ruby over the plank. Harry looked up and saw Hadley watching him, the sadness present in her features made his heart clench but he shook it off and continued.
(Uma)
Huh, let's get this party started
I swear I'm cold-hearted There's no negotiation I'm not here for debatin' You need some motivation? Just look at Ben's face Then ask yourself how long you think I'll remain patient I'll throw him overboard and let him swim with killer sharks You either hand over the wand or he'll be ripped apart
(Mal)
Now, let's all just be smart Although for you that must be hard You'll get your wand No one has to come to any harm Don't try to intimidate Your bark is much worse than your bite Who's the baddest of them all? I guess we're finding out tonight
(Pirates)
Let's go, bring it on Better give us what we want It's the wand for the crown If you don't, it's going down
(VKs)
Let's go, make your move Peace or war, it's up to you Give him up and do it now If you don't, it's going down
(Pirates)
We want the wand Or else the king is gone Your time is running out You should really watch your mouth
(VKs)
Let's go, pound for pound We're prepared to stand our ground Put your swords up, put 'em up It's going down
(Pirates)
Oh, oh, oh, make the trade Oh, oh, oh, or walk the plank Oh, oh, oh, make the trade Oh, oh, oh, or walk the plank
They gathered around Mal at the gangplank, listening to her plan.
Mal walked up towards Uma pointing to Ben and Ruby.  Harry noticed Mal getting closer to Uma and left the two royals stand-in on the edge of the plank and walked over, pushing Gil towards them.
(Mal)
Ok, look, this is not a conversation It's a do-or-die situation If you don't give me back the king I'll have no hesitation I'll serve you right here And I don't need a reservation That way your whole pirate crew can have a demonstration Release him now, and we can go our separate ways Unless you wanna deal with me and the VKs
(Uma)
So that's your big speech, huh? An empty ultimatum?
Harry got in front of Uma, getting closer and closer to Mal.
Jay and Hadley walked up behind her.
(Harry)
All it takes is one swing and I'll humiliate him Matter of fact, make one wrong move and I'll debilitate him And if he even starts to slip, I'll eliminate him All it takes is one long look and I'll
As he spun around, Hadley grabbed his hook, stopping him.
(Hadley)
Harry! We get it, chill
Harry smirked at her and sauntered away back to his post at the plank, continuing to push Ben and Ruby around.
(VKs)
Let's go, pound for pound We're prepared to stand our ground Put your swords up, put 'em up It's going down
Carlos pulled the wand out from his jacket and handed it to Mal.
She walked back up to Uma ready to hand it over.
(Ben)
Hey, we don't have to choose We don't have to light the fuse Mal, whatever you do, it's gonna be a lose-lose There's gotta be a better way Uma, I promise I'll give you your chance You'll have your say
(Uma)
Silly king! You? Give me? You're gonna give me a chance? Well, not a chance
(Pirates)
Oh, oh, oh, make the trade Oh, oh, oh, or walk the plank Oh, oh, oh, make the trade Oh, oh, oh, or walk the plank
Mal handed the wand out to Uma who held her hand up.
“Hold up. To easy.”
Mal took a step back.
“Why don't you give it a test drive. We want to see it work.”
Mal sighed “you always were quite the drama queen”
“Oh and nothing to big or else Ben and Ruby are fish bait.”
Mal looked behind her and  Carlos nodded his head to the upper deck where Dude was sitting.  Mal smiled at Uma and leaned against the railing.
“Although it seems absurd, turn your bark into a word.” She waved the wand and Dude did nothing.
Mal turned and smiled at Uma and glared back at Dude.
“Talk dog.”
The smallest voice came from Dude.
“Does this vest make me look fat?”
The crew around Uma cheered.
“Does anyone have some bacon? Cookies?”
Uma laughed as Mal turned around.
“Give me the wand!”
“Give me Ben and Ruby!”
Uma looked over to where Harry was holding them close to the edge of the plank.
“Harry, bring them over.”
Harry sighed but reluctantly pulled them both over to the gangplank, kicking the backs of their knees making them fall to their knees in front of Mal.
Hadley ran up to retrieve Ruby.
Uma reached for the wand and Mal pulled back, reaching her hand out for Ben, nudging Hadley to do the same.
Hadley decides looking at Ruby was the best thing to do because looking at Harry would cause her to break.
“Cut ‘em loose Harry.”
Harry grumbled as he pulled out his sword and sliced through the rope binding Ben and Ruby hands.
“ I never get to have any fun”
Their hands flung up and grasped Hadley and Mals hands.
Uma hand darted out for the wand and Mal placed it in her hand.
Hadley pulled Ruby up and started pulling her up the docks, but Ruby started pulling her way back.
“Ruby! Come on! We need to go!” Hadleys voice barely went over a whispered but it was urgent enough to get Ruby's attention.
Hadley happened to look behind her to find Harry's eyes watching her retreat, that broken look from night before present but poorly masked by the joy of getting the wand.
Hadley managed to pull Ruby to the docks by the time Uma found out the wand was fake.  Before she knew it there were pirates swinging from ropes, smoke bombs were being set off left and right and she was handed a sword.  The metal object felt foreign in her hand, she tried to remember the tricks and moves that Harry had taught her when they were younger.
Hadley disarmed a few pirates, looking for one in particular. She saw the flash of red and looked up, finding Harry now fighting Jay.
She cursed herself mentally and ran to the upper deck, dodging swords and pirates the whole way up.
Just as Harry was about to bring his sword down on Jay, Hadley's clashed with his.
Jay looked surprised to see Hadley able to hold him off.
“ Jay go help Evie and Ruby, I've got him” Hadley grunted as Harry pushed down harder.
Jay hesitated.
“Go!”
Jay ran and it was just Harry and Hadley.
“You never could win against me.” Harry sneered.
Hadley pushed with all her strength and threw Harry backwards catching him off guard.
“There's always a first time”
They squared up and Harry brought his sword down first, she was able to block it.
“Harry we need to talk”
“A little late for that now ain't it”
“No, Har, I never meant to leave you here.”
“Then why did you?”
Harry spun around her trying to throw her off.
“I tried to get you over. I really did!” Hadley ducked as his sword came dangerously close to her head.
“Please Harry, I never forgot about you! I couldn't even if I tried!”
Harry laughed.
“Yeah, that's why your aren't wearing me necklace hu?”
He swung again, Hadley pushed him back enough to use her other hand to pull the necklace from under her shirt.
Harry stared at her and the necklace, looking back up to her.
“I have not taken your necklace off since you gave it to me”
“But, the coronation.. I watched… it wasn't there...”
Hadley shook her head.
“ I had it tucked under my dress.”
Harry looked to the side away from her, their fight momentarily forgotten.
“You left me here, wondering if you were ever coming back.” Harry looked like a kicked puppy and it took everything in Hadley not to run up and hug him.
“I know, and I'm so sorry Harry. I tried, every day I tried to talk to Ben about bringing you over but something was always more important.”
Hadley moved a little closer and he looked up at her his eyes softened and Hadley wanted to tell him what she felt for him, but their moment was interrupted by Uma shouting at him from the lower decks.
Harry face quickly handed again and he brought his sword down quickly, catching Hadley slightly off.
“Harry please!” Hadley pleaded pushing him off and swing at him.
“Please believe me"
Harry said nothing as he swung again and again, each strike causing a spark to ignite between the two swords.
Harry had Hadley backed up against the railing and brought his sword down using his hook to hold her sword away from him.
Hadley kicked at his knee, pushing him back. Harry brought his sword down and Hadley moved making his get stuck in the railing.
Hadley knew she had little time before the others made it to the pipe.
She looked around while he struggled to free his sword.  Her eyes landed on his hook, the only thing he cared for more than anything else.
When Harry's sword was finally freed he lunged at her but Hadley moved and thrust her sword blade through the hook and twisted it freeing it from Harry's grip and dangling it from the edge of her sword.
Harry stood there dumbfounded before throwing his sword down at her feet and reached his hand out for his hook.
Hadley took the hook off her sword and held it looking at it.
"Harry, there's something that I should have told you a long time ago, but I never knew how."
Harry looked away from him hook in her hands up to her eyes.
"And what's that?"
Hadley hesitated.
"I… I…"
"You what?"
Harry stepped closer, the movement making Hadley look up from the hook.  Their eyes met, Hadley could see the emotions swimming through his ocean blue eyes.
She let out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding.
"I love you…"

PART VI / EPILOGUE
September 2030
Lucy was tired, but content. She was probably supposed to be wiped out, sleeping for hours on end would be acceptable too. After spending over 8 hours yesterday in the car with children, a whining almost 4 years old and a fussy 6 months old, she had every reason to feel half dead. Even though Niall provided her a little break, sending her grocery shopping while he watched the kids, she was still half dead. She actually really liked going to the supermarket, might have even spent extra long roaming the aisles, just to get a bit more alone time. She loved her children, of course she did, but everyone needed a small break once in a while.
But none of that stopped her from getting up early, starting the preparations, then waking the kids before they started crying, and doing the rest of cooking with both her daughters in tow. She was in a great mood, any tiredness or lack of sleep forgotten. After all, it was Niall’s birthday. And her husband deserved all the good things, always.
“Mummy, can I decorate? I wanna make them all pretty.” Evelyn, her eldest asked, her big blue eyes pleading, just in case her mum declined. It was almost impossible to say no to her when she looked at someone like that, a power she was perfectly aware of. Sometimes Lucy could not believe she wasn’t even four yet, she was way too smart.
“Sure, Eve, but just a few, okay? We’ll put the fruits and everything else on the table, so everyone can make their own.” She put a few pancakes on a plate before placing it in front of her daughter. Evelyn was nothing if not helpful. Lucy looked to her other side, where Olivia was sitting in her high chair, playing with her teddy and a wooden spoon. Apparently there were no better toys than kitchen appliances or whatever else you could find lying around the house.
There was soft music playing in the background, the last of the pancakes sizzling in the pan, a bubble of excitement fluttering in Lucy’s stomach. Life was good, better than good. She had everything she could have ever wanted, more than she even dared to dream about. Sure, it wasn’t always perfect and it definitely wasn’t easy, but they were healthy, and most importantly, there was a lot of love to hold it all together.
Evelyn was born on the 14th of December 2026 and neither Lucy nor Niall knew what to do with the happiness and love bursting through them for this perfect little bundle they created. In the following months, Lucy was very glad Niall was home, because no matter how peaceful she might have looked, Evelyn was no angel. And Lucy would probably lose her mind, if it weren’t for him. He worked in the studio with the boys, but it wasn’t any crazy schedule, just slowly putting songs together, always making sure not to put too much on his wife’s shoulder. She was also very glad he convinced her to go ahead with the training centre, which opened in February of 2027, because it became a source of normality for her, a reason to leave the house and clear her mind, usually for a few hours twice a week.
One Direction released their second album since reactivating in September of 2028 and then embarked on a tour, Lucy and Evelyn joining them for most of it. It was crazy at times, but Niall said nothing would ever beat standing on stage in front of thousands of people and turning your head to see your wife and kid dancing hidden on the side stage. She found out she was pregnant again on that very tour. They weren’t really trying for another kid, but they also weren’t actively preventing anything, just letting the universe work however it wanted to. So, on the 14th of March this year, Olivia was born. She was much calmer than her sister, which Lucy took as a blessing, only hoping it wouldn’t come doubled as a toddler rebellion or something. And once again, Niall finished tour early December, spending the last couple of months of her pregnancy home, helping her and being her rock, then enjoying another newborn bliss together. The band came back to work since, once again popping into the studio every once in a while, but there was no rush. Harry welcomed his second child recently, joking that Niall should pick up his pace, because he had been married way shorter, yet they had the same number of offsprings, his kids only a year apart.
But for Lucy and Niall, there was no rush. She loved what they had, had felt this way for years upon years, pure contentment. She couldn’t even pinpoint a moment when she wanted something more than she already had, since she started dating Niall, not really.
She put the last pancakes on the plate, the ones Evelyn decorated were already placed at the table, so she picked Olivia up, settling her on her hip, grabbing Evie’s hand and going upstairs. Her eldest giggled excitedly, letting go of her mum’s hand as soon as she opened the door to the master bedroom and sprinting before jumping on the bed. Lucy only hoped she wouldn’t land on Niall or kick him in the ribs. There was no stopping her when she got like this, though.
“Dada! Wake up! It’s your birthday!” she screamed, jumping up and down on the bed.
Niall hummed, scrunching his eyes for a second, which earned him a giggle from his daughter, before opening them and instantly grabbing her to bring her down on top of him, tickling her before blowing a raspberry on her stomach.
“Hello, pumpkin,” he said, planting a kiss on her cheek, her eyes glistening and a huge smile showing all of her teeth.
“We made breakfast, you have to hurry,” she said proudly, going to stand up on the bed, Niall’s hands instantly going up to secure her in case she lost balance. He sat up looking at his wife, who stood near the doorway, their other daughter tucked in her arms, hiding her face in her neck. Their daughters couldn’t have been more different, Evelyn was a natural firecracker, while Olivia seemed timid and shy, he couldn’t wait to see them grow into two amazing women. “Dada!” Evelyn pulled on his hand, rushing him.
“Okay, okay, I’m getting up, Evie,” he laughed, standing up and helping her down from the bed. He grabbed a sweater to cover his bare chest, barely managing to pull it over his head, before Eve started pushing on his leg, trying to make him move. “Go ahead, I’m right behind you,” he said, which earned him a huff.
“Just not too fast, bub,” Lucy reminded, when Eve rushed out of the room.
Niall stopped in front of his wife, a huge smile on his face, his hair a complete mess and his eyes still sleepy.
“Happy birthday, baby,” she said, when he wrapped an arm around her, planting a sweet kiss on his lips.
“Thank you,” Niall said, giving her another peck, before kissing the daughter in her arms on the head. “And you, what got you all shy, bug?” he asked, pinching her leg lightly. Olivia finally looked at her dad, twisting in Lucy’s arms and reaching for him. Niall laughed lightly, taking her from his wife and tickling her before she let out the most beautiful giggle and hid her face in his neck. She was too cute. Both their daughters were absolutely adorable and as much as he loved it and was a proud dad, it sometimes made it hard being a parent.
“Come on, or Evie will lose her mind and the pancakes will get cold,” Lucy said, intertwining her fingers with Niall’s free hand and leading them downstairs.
“I really don’t know where she gets her lack of patience from.”
“Oh, you don’t?” Lucy snickered, looking at him with a raised brow.
“Okay, so maybe I have a slight idea,” he chuckled, “but I’m not that bad.”
“Yeah, but you’re also not 4.”
He looked at his wife, both their eyes glistening with glee. “Point taken.”
They reached the kitchen and Niall stopped in the doorway surprised. It was more than he expected, the table was perfectly set, fresh fruit, chocolate and maple syrups, bacon and even whipped cream laid out, along with a stack of pancakes way too big for them.
He looked at his wife incredulously. “You did all that? With two kids to look at?” he asked, forever in awe of his wife.
“They were on their best behaviour,” she assured.
“You’re an angel,” he whispered in her ear, kissing her cheek.
“Dada! I helped! And I have a present for you!” Evelyn said, practically jumping by the kitchen table.
Niall put Olivia in her high chair, while Lucy shook her head at their eldest’s antics. They were supposed to have cake and give him presents later, but at this point she wasn’t even surprised Evelyn couldn’t wait.
“Okay, come here then,” Niall said, sitting in a chair, grabbing Eve and sitting her on his lap. “Oooh you made me a card?” he asked, his voice excited, when his daughter handed him a colorful piece of paper.
“Mumma helped with spelling,” she noted, looking up at him with the biggest smile.
“It’s beautiful, I love it. We’re gonna hang it back home. Thank you, pumpkin.” His heart was so full, he couldn’t even comprehend it. He kissed her cheek, then the other, then the crown of her head, until she giggled.
“Can we hang it here until we leave?” Evelyn asked, looking at him with her usual big eyes. They came to their house in Ireland for a few days to change the scenery. And because Lucy always tried to get him here for his birthday, knowing how much he loved his home country. He appreciated the gesture a lot, even though now his home was wherever his family was, the place didn’t matter much.
“Of course,” he assured, placing the card on the edge of the table so it wouldn’t get dirty. “Let’s eat now, yeah?”
She nodded, her blonde hair bouncing around her shoulders. She was a perfect mix of Niall and Lucy, the hair was all her mother’s, but the eyes were just like her dad’s. She made a move to get off his lap, but he secured an arm around her waist to keep her with him.
“Don’t leave me, it’s my birthday!” he said dramatically, earning himself another chuckle. It was his favourite thing to do, trying to make his girls laugh, all three of them.
Lucy finally moved, going to make some coffee for him, taking a minute to watch her family, while it was brewing. They were all in pajamas, Evelyn wearing a blue robe with pink hearts on it, Niall in plaid bottoms and a sweater, she was wearing cotton pants as well, with Niall’s hoodie. He was feeding Olivia, her high chair turned towards him, while making sure Evie didn't fall off his lap, completely adored by his daughters, just as much as he adored them.
“Hey, come eat,” he said, looking at her, a lopsided smile on both their faces.
She nodded, pouring the coffee and bringing it over for him, before sitting herself on the other side, so she could admire her family.
The house was filled with chatter and giggles, Lucy and Niall’s eyes shining with emotions, the smiles constant on their faces. When they ate over half of the pancakes and their bellies were full, cheeks hurting from laughing, she got up to clean up a bit, hanging Eve’s card up on the fridge. Niall got up too, placing Evie on his chair, and came up to do the washing, ignoring Lucy’s protest that he shouldn’t do any cleaning on his birthday, while she put the leftovers into the fridge.
When they were both done, he pulled her into his body, before they joined their kids. They should get dressed and go out for a walk, but he wanted a minute with his wife.
“I love you so much, Lulu,” he said softly, after kissing her, their first proper kiss of the day.
“Love you, baby,” she reciprocated, raking a hand through his hair.
He stood with his arms around his wife, planting soft kisses across her face and on her neck, while watching the kids over her shoulder, their eldest daughter gabbering on and on about something she was clearly very passionate about, while their 6 months old looked at her sister with big eyes, probably not understanding a word, but giving her her full attention. Niall’s heart was so full, he was sure it must burst one of those moments. He felt that way whenever he had his three girls right with him, just like this. Not even doing anything special, just being together, being a family. He truly did not know what the hell did he do to deserve it all, the most amazing wife and two beautiful daughters.
He drew his eyes back to Lucy and just knew she was filling similar things, one of her hands clasped on the back of his neck, while the other was travelling up and down his side.
The way they looked at each other and were together, made her feel like they were two teenagers in love. Crazy about each other, with heart eyes and butterflies in their stomachs. It didn’t mean their love wasn’t mature, their relationship stable. But in those moments, she felt incredibly lucky. That after all these years, the spark between them didn’t dim. That her body still felt warm whenever he was near, her heart skipping a beat whenever he looked at her. It was something she was incredibly appreciative of, their love evolving, growing to new heights, but never really changing. Deep down she not only hoped, but knew that it would be like that forever. That not only this was the man she’d grow old alongside and spend the rest of her life with, but that she’d be completely in love with him for every minute of every day. And for just as long, she’d be utterly, absolutely loved by him.

Tumblr media
Pairing: Hades x reader
Warning: Cursing
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Descendants or any of its characters.
Y/I: your initial
Much to your surprise, everything had changed from the last time some VKs were elected to go off-shore. Everyone who wasn't chosen seemed to be happy for those who were; you wished you'd've had that reaction from your mentor and, you'd dare to say friend, Hades. You couldn't bring yourself to stop thinking about it, it made both your mind and your left foot bounce non-stop as you waited for Mal and Ben to make an entrance at the new students' welcoming ceremony.
Ben thanked his people for their support, but not everyone seemed to be sharing the positive attitude on the VK topic. Beside you, you heard Audrey's grandma, whose name you couldn't remember, scoff, "not like we had a choice."
All you did was roll your eyes, after all your time in Auradon, you had grown used to the comments about you being a villain. You listened to Ben while fidgeting with the sleeve of your dress, a grin plastered across your face in expectancy of what was gonna happen after he finished singing. However, just like it happened with the announcement of new arrivals, not everyone was happy about the king's proposal.
"No!" Audrey screamed, making a few threatening glares, including yours, be thrown her way. As cliché as it may sound, it is right to say that, if looks could kill, Audrey would've been dead within seconds (if her jealousy didn't kill her first).
After Mal said yes, everyone began celebrating and commenting on how romantic the gesture had been, how good of a couple they made, and how lucky Auradon's people were to have them.
"Ben and Mal are the absolute best, I really cannot wait for Mal to be queen," said the girl who was standing next to you.
With a smile, you nodded in agreement, "I know, I mean, they work really well together, and they're such a great couple."
"You'd really rather have a VK on the throne than me?"
The girl just turned around and left, but you faked a smile and mocked, "I think even Carlos' dog would make a better queen."
"You're not one to talk, you're one of them yourself," Chad Charming came to Audrey's defense.
"Why thanks, captain obvious, I was completely unaware of that." You rolled your eyes at them as you began making your way to where your friends were standing.
As soon as Mal came down from the stage, you and Evie engulfed her in a tight hug.
"Did you guys know?"
Evie just sighed and grinned, "everything."
You shrugged nonchalantly, "helped plan it." You hugged her once more, thrilled to see her so happy, "you're gonna be the best queen that this pretty, preppy people can even imagine."
….
You stood next to Evie's desk, scanning a new book of sketches she had made for Mal's wedding dress and munching on a chocolate chip cookie.
"Who else knows about the crown and the scepter?" asked Evie, with her brows slightly frowned.
"No one. I mean, think about it, people are scared enough as it is. We have to employ these entirely new security measures". Mal spoke with confidence as she explained the situation to both of you.
For one, you couldn't believe that such important objects had been stolen, and you understood the fear of the people, knowing from first-hand experience how dangerous and wicked villains could be. However, you didn't support the Isle's complete isolation, it was unfair to take such measures.
"Will this delay our bringing over more V.K.'s?" Evie asked.
Mal sighed and replied, "We're talking about closing the barrier for good."
You gasped. "What? M, they can't do that."
Automatically, Evie's notebook rested on the table next to you and began pacing.
"Not only will you kill dozens of children's illusions to be here, but we'd never get to see the others again. You said no, right?"
"Y/N is right, you know? Besides, the four of us are living the dream, and we finally get to share that. I mean, what could be more important than that?" Evie had always been the most compassionate out of the five of you, so she was trying to lead Mal into the path that seemed the kindest.
"Yeah. I know. I mean, maybe security or maybe peace of mind for everyone in Auradon. People like Hades, dangerous and cruel, could get out of the Isle at any moment, I truly believe that it's best for us to keep the barrier closed. For the sake of our people".
"Our people? M, look, don't get me wrong; I really admire how you care about everyone's safety here at Auradon," you sat on a spare chair, between your two best friends, eyes pleadingly looking at Mal. "But you can't afford to forget where we all come from. Better than anyone, we know that not everyone there is a criminal; and, even some of those who are, want a chance to prove themselves. There must be something, anything that can be done."
Mal seemed a bit taken aback, both of you could see that she was having a hard time with the current situation so, even if you didn't completely agree with the measures that she was telling you about, you gave her your most sincere smile and all the support that you could muster.
"M, I'm so glad that you're going to be Queen. You will be a part of these conversations, you will stand up for the V.K.s. Thank you for telling us. You're gonna be a great Queen".
Mal seemed gave you a small closed-lip smile, you and Evie stood up and hugged her, and she sighed, calming down a bit.
You hummed to yourself as you helped Carlos prepare a picnic basket for Jane's birthday party. Chuckling, while Evie threw different fruits at Jay, you folded everyone's towels and neatly arranged them. When you were about to go upstairs, to get your camera, you heard a faint, "later, suckers!" coming from outside.
You all rushed out and, before you could see anything, Jay exclaimed, "Whoa! You might wanna think of a spell for that."
Turns out, Audrey, who apparently was out and about looking for trouble, not only stole the scepter and the crown, but had also turned Mal into an old lady. Your friends were debating over what to do concerning the Audrey issue, when you chimed in, "The only thing more powerful than the scepter is Hades' ember. We need to go get it."
Carlos countered, "Are you sure? I mean, Y/N, can't you fix it with your magic?"
"Sorry guys, but Hades's our only choice, we need to get the ember."
Jay scoffed, "Yeah, right. We can also invite him over for tea."
Carlos gave him a smack on the back of his head, but didn't support your suggestion either.
"He’s right, Y/I,” Evie spoke up, “ besides, no one knows where his lair is”.
You shared a look with Celia, then shrugged, “I do. Actually, we both do.”
“I'm his errand rat. I've got the key at my dad's.”
“Great, you’re both coming,” announced Mal.
To be honest, you missed the dusty air of the Isle; you'd never been a fan of the Olympus, so when the gods decided to kick you, the goddess of devilry in war, daughter of Ares, out of the place, you didn't even bother argue. You greeted Dr. Facilier, waltzed around his shop for a bit, and then exited with your friends.
"Long time nay see," beamed Harry with a wicked grin. The bikes that had brought you were now occupied by pirates of The Lost Revenge's Crew.
Jay was fuming and it showed, he snarled, "get off my bike, Hook.''
"Catch me if you can, Jay!"
And then, they were gone.
You made a move to follow them, as Jay, Carlos, and Evie already had, but Mal placed a hand on your shoulder. "They got this, the three of us gotta gotta go find the ember." So you made your way to Hades'.
With a sigh, you opened the door to one of the most familiar places in the whole Isle.
"Okay, stay quiet," Celia warned. " It echoes, like, crazy in here."
The three of you walked and you could see Mal's eyes bouncing all around the entrance of the 'New Underworld,' as you liked to call it jokingly. When Mal passed besides Severo' s cage, his three mouths snarled menacingly and he began barking; however, it stopped when you passed by and was replaced by happy panting. You looked at him but decided against greeting the three-headed dog, you'd have time for that later. Your best friend sent you a questioning look and you smiled at her, as if telling her "I'll explain later."
The only way of entering the lair was similar to the entrance of the mines in which dwarfs worked back at Charmington. Multiple rail bikes were stationed on the edge, together with some lantern helmets. Each of you took a helmet and got into a bike, which immediately began taking you to where your mentor and friend lived.
You glanced back at Celia and Mal as you explained, "okay, the plan's simple: you'll approach him and get the ember while Celia and I distract him".
"Okay," "alright then," they both agreed.
Given that the former god was fast asleep, you and Celia stayed at the entrance of the cave, while Mal followed your directions and approached him, to take the ember. You mentally cursed as Hades, still unmoving, inquired, "What are you two doing here?"
"We just thought we'd, uh, say hi," Celia tried. When Hades didn't respond, she continued, "also, we noticed that you're low on… on… canned corn."
Not knowing how to support her weak ass excuse, you limited yourself to greet him with a small wave, to which he responded with a smirk and a nod.
"Hi, Dad". Mal remained behind his couch, bending her knees to face him.
"Quite a show you put on the other day," he claimed.
"Right back at you".
After steering awake, he stood up, more like jumped to his feet, "I was just coming to see you!"
Mal didn't believe him, and didn't bother to pretend. "Really? Wonder why.Is it because I'm gonna be Queen?"
"Ah! Now, Mal, don't be bitter".
"You abandoned me when I was a baby," the fae's voice was full of anger and disgust.
The god rolled his eyes and defended himself, "no. no, I left your mother. She's not the easiest person to get along with".
"You think?"
You scoffed, making your way toward the small storage room where all your witchcraft and sorcery materials were sitting, unused ever since you moved to Auradon. While you gathered your possessions, you didn't pay much attention to their interaction, they deserved privacy.
From where you were, you could hear them sing and fight like they hadn't done in the last sixteen years or so.
"Do you wanna make up for being a lousy dad? - Give me the ember," you heard Mal demand.
Hades smirked, "the ember only works for me." And me, you recalled.
"No. It'll work for me. We're blood."
"You're only half Hades. The ember won't do everything for you that it does for me".
"I'll take my chances." Mal began to walk toward where you were, so you took it as a cue to grab your bag and make your exit.
"If it gets wet, it's game over."
When you left, Hades glanced at the cupboard where you kept some things, noticing that, now, the only thing left was a small piece of burnt paper with the words LONG LIVE THE UNDERWORLD messily scribbled on it. His thunderous laugh was faintly heard back on the surface. 'The place does have on hell of an echo'.
Your eyes seemed to be stuck on Mal as you walked back to the barrier; when she noticed you gave her a smile, but felt a kick in your stomach for not telling her which was your connection to him. You could have told her at the lair, but remained silent, thinking it was better to do so when the tension was less.
Everything was quicker than expected, you got in, got the ember after sort of an awkward greeting, and got out. The only problem that you had was the fact that Gil and Harry had now escaped, unleashing a chain of events that had resulted in the oddest of alliances. Long story short, Uma had been roaming the sea all this time, apparently looking for a hole in the barrier; and, while doing that, she had found all the luxury of life outside the dome of the Isle. So, now Mal had promised to guarantee a future for all VKs and you were working with the sea three.
After arriving at Auradon prep, Mal had lead you to the Castle. You looked for Ben with no success, ending up in a room full of knight armours which, speaking of odd, were now charmed to fight. Thanks Audrey. From there, things had gone messy and both gangs were now singing, dancing and fighting for their lives. You did what you could to cover Mal, who was battling two minion armours at once. You swinged your sword and struck the ones around you, with your eyes focused on the scene surrounding you; they were outnumbering you and your group was cornered into the center of the room. However, you couldn't help but notice that the sea witch had dropped the ember, which Audrey had noticed too.
When one of the knights went for the ember, you slashed his head off and went for it too, beating him to it. You concentrated, closing your eyes and clenching your fist around the ember. The familiar burst of blue sparks began to run through you and your eyes opened, glowing silver as you screamed and lifted your arm, making the knights stand completely still before dropping their swords and falling to pieces.
"Y/N?" Mal winded, her wide eyes calling on to an explanation.
You scratched your neck, trying to force your words out, "it's a long story, M."
She pressed on the topic, "Hades said his ember only worked for him, How..."
The others remained quiet, using the time to catch their breaths and recover from the recent encounter; however, Evie's and Carlos' faces mirrored Mal's.
Hesitantly, you revealed the truth. "You guys know I'm sort of a greek goddess myself?," they nodded.
"I am, or I used to be, the goddess of devilry in war, known for being reckless and destructive. This sparked Hades' interest, so he became my mentor and one of my closest friends. When my dad, Ares, found out, he asked Zeus for my permanent expulsion from the Olympus, so I moved in with Hades. Before everything with Hercules and Megara happened, I was already learning everything about the Underworld. Hades' grew to trust me enough to teach me the magic of death so, as it all happened, I learned to use the ember".
The others looked satisfied with your story, but Mal looked at you with an air of betrayal, "so, you've known him all this time," she concluded.
Again, you sighed, "that's right.'’
This time, it was Carlos who spoke, "why didn't you tell us?"
"I don't know, guess, the way I saw it, you guys would've treated me differently knowing that I'm immortal". Okay, that was only half of the truth, but you couldn't risk it in the middle of such an important mission.
Evie smiled at you and, while hugging you, she assured, "Y/N, We love you, no matter what."
Carlos, Jay, and even Mal were quick to join her, showering you with smiles and words of agreement.
"Uh, guys, sorry to interrupt but we gotta keep going," Gil said, making you end the hug and continue your search for the king.
….
On your way to Audrey's room, Mal approached you.
"So… you and my dad being friends, didn't see that one coming," she chuckled.
You shrugged, kicking the dust beneath you, "he was there for me in hard times, the guy has a better heart than what people give him credit for."
She nodded at your words, "How'd you guys meet?"
"We made quick friends in the Troyan war. I was summoned by the greek soldiers and he was there, personally gathering the souls of the fallen. He said my work was great and I complimented his fiery hair, which, as I came to learn, turns out is one of his softy points."
"The Troyan war? So that's why you didn't even open your greek history book," she concluded, lightening the mood.
Audrey was not in her dorm, but Uma found her diary, so you arrived to the conclusion that she was at Fairy Cottage, a place where she had spent a big part of her childhood. Nevertheless, you had all agreed to meet at Evie's after the two hours had passed, so you headed there instead.
When you made it, you saw the three new Vk's fast asleep on the living room, and Evie's boyfriend, Doug, in the same condition but in her study.
Evie fell to the floor beside him, desperately trying to wake him, but to no avail.
Uma rolled her eyes, "he's spelled, is she not a fast learner?"
"She's emotionally involved, okay?" Mal defended her.
"Well, in that case, she should be able to wake him up. True love's kiss".
The atmosphere in the room got thicker with Uma's suggestion, so Evie asked to be left alone with her sleeping boyfriend. After a song and a true love kiss, not to mention with Doug back on his feet, you decided to take a break and have a snack.
You smiled when Mal apologized to Uma, and placed a hand on hers to show your pride and support. However, happiness and peace of mind didn't last long. With loud thuds, wooden boards began to cover the windows and trapped you inside the house. Mal's eyes glowed green as she tried to break Audrey's jinx, but her magic wasn't powerful enough so she and Uma had to join forces. The boards fell down.
Evie hummed, "You did it! Together! This is what I've been talking about".
"I guess my shell likes you," Uma shrugged, wanting to appear nonchalant. "Why don't you hold on to that?"She handed the ember to Mal, but instead of keeping it, she smiled and handed it to you.
"Actually, I think Y/N should have it. She knows it better than I do," she confided.
You thanked your best friend and put the ember away, proceeding to look out the window.
You caught a breath but, before you said anything, Celia announced, "hey, it's your bae!"
That's all it took for all of you to rush outside, stopping on your tracks when you saw the guys on Evie's front yard. With a smile plastered on your face, you hugged Jay and Carlos, and smiled at the pirates and Ben (who was Busy greeting his queen-to-be).
"I'm so glad you guys are okay," you raved. "All of you," once again, your eyes fell on Gil and Harry.
After reuniting, you had to part ways once more; Jane, Gil, and Doug went to find Fairy godmother, and the rest went looking for Audrey to Fairy Cottage.
….
Frankly, it was quite predictable that Audrey would, yet again, outsmart you; so, when she wasnt in her hideout anymore, you weren't as surprised. To say that going there had been a loss of time would be inaccurate, given that you had witnessed a sort of amusing scene when Ben freed Chad.
You were walking together, abandoning Fairy cottage, when Ben demanded that, someday, he had to hear how Mal and Uma ended up working for a common cause. You shared a look with Evie, and she happily declared, "Actually, Mal promised to let all the kids off the Isle - once this is over".
"Mal?" The king inquired.
The fae sighed defeated, which you didn't understand.
"I have to tell you guys something. Um… I lied to you," she confessed. "No one will be coming off the Isle".
You couldn't help but get angry at her, how could she give you so much hope only to crash it? You knew that if you opened your mouth, you wouldn't be able to control your words so, with your eyes locked in the ground, you stood motionless.
She continued, "the program is shut down. And the barrier… will be closed for good. For Auradon's safety."
Uma spoke up, looking at Mal with a deadly glare. "Hold up. So we're saving your precious people and your behinds for a lie. I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You're always out for yourself".
Harry followed his captain's example, facing Ben.
"And you, King Benny..." he bowed, approaching your friend, "you're probably just gonna throw us all back inside".
It was not the badass pirates who raised their voices in that moment, it was the broken children who had discovered that they had been, in fact, fighting for a heartless lie this whole time.
"You know what? I actually thought you were brave. You're nothing but a chicken." Celia's voice broke when she spoke, sounding so betrayed that it wrecked you. "Too scared to tell me I was never gonna see my dad again".
You went after Celia, throwing the ember at mal with your back facing her. Unnoticed by you, the magical gem had landed on a tiny puddle on the forest floor; but that had been enough to extinguish its light.
"No! No," Mal exclaimed, tears beginning to flood her eyes.
"Regain your might and ignite! Regain your might and ignite!" Despite her desperate tries, the ember did not light back on.
The two pirates left to find their friend, showing no empathy at all and not bothering to look back.
At least now, Mal had the guts to face her friends and apologize. She directed her words at Evie and the others, but wished that you were there too, even if she didn't deserve it at that moment.
"Evie… I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I just… I thought that... I was afraid to tell you. I thought I was gonna lose my best friend.I… I just lost Y/N! But I had to do something. I had to protect Auradon".
Evie brought herself to ask, "closing the barrier was your idea?"
Mal sobbed, defending herself, "I did it for us. I did it for our life that we have here now."
"For our life? What about the kids that we left behind on that island? The kids that we promised? We were their only hope. I thought you were gonna stand up for the V.K.'s. But instead, you lied to them. And you lied to Jay. And you lied to Carlos. And you lied to Y/N. And you lied to me. We're your family."
"I'm gonna go look for Y/N," whispered Jay, only for Carlos to hear.
When the younger boy nodded, the thief began to run in the direction in which you had previously left. After a few yards, he found you, throwing rocks into a small pond. He kneeled to sit next to you, but with a cloud of pink fog, he turned to rock. That's what let you know that Audrey was near, probably going after Mal, so you jumped to your feet and ran back to your friends. There they were, all of them turned to rock; but Mal was nowhere to be found.
Okay, think, think, she has to be somewhere near. Where would M go? She'd go find Audrey; now, where would Audrey go… The castle!
So, that's where you went and when you arrived, you saw your friend begging the pirate sea witch for her help. You were about to make your presence known, but you were snatched off your feet and hit with something on the back of your head.
You woke up on one of the towers next to Celia, who practically threw herself into your embrace.
"It's gonna be fine," you tried to reassure her.
"No, it's not," scoffed Audrey, grabbing Celia by her forearm and forcing her to stand up. "Now, scream for help," she ordered, "I need Mal up here so I can end her once and for all."
Celia complied. "Help me, Mal!" she screamed.
"Don't listen to her, Mal! Go find the others," you tried to warn her but Audrey put the scepter against Celia's neck; "say another word, and she's done with," she threatened.
"Save your little friend, Mal!"
"Help me, Mal!"
You cheered when you saw Mal approaching in her dragon form, but a glare from Audrey was enough to shut you up.
"Careful not to fry your little V.K. buddy!"
Audrey was distracted by Mal so you took the chance and jumped from the tower, landing on your feet. You ran to Uma and Harry, who were still there, watching the whole thing.
You dusted off your jacket and approached them, "are you guys okay?"
"Yeah, but she doesn't stand a chance without the ember," claimed Uma.
''We're stronger together. We're stronger together!" She tried to use her shell, but it was not working. "I'm right here, Mal! Regain your might and ignite. I'm right here, girl," the ember flickered lit but it didn't last long.
"Let me help, you placed your hand over Uma's, grabbing the shell with her. "We're right here. Regain your might and ignite!"
Your eyes gleamed silver and you beamed, "It worked!"
In that moment, Harry took you by surprise when he hugged you and Uma at the same time, not caring about 'sides'. You hugged the pirates back and grinned.
"Thanks Uma," you smiled, "and I'm sorry for everything".
Even if Mal had already apologized to Uma, you felt the need to do the same because, even if you did everything under your friend's lead, you had still been terrible with her.
"S'alright," she returned the smile, "and I'm glad we did this together."
For what seemed to be the thousandth time you closed your eyes and concentrated on the ember, but the result was not different from the previous attempts. You fell back into Ben's arms, panting.
"Sorry, guys, but I'm not powerful enough. The ember's laced to Hades' magic, not mine."
"There must be something that we can do, she's slipping away," Evie insisted.
"As Y/N said, there's only one person in the world who might be able to do something about this, and that's Hades," said Mal.
"Hades? He wouldn't do it. I wouldn't risk it,"Ben tried to reason.
"Actually, he might do it for me. He's my father," Mal revealed.
"I'll send guards to get him,"offered Ben.
"I can go get him," you volunteered, "I know where his lair is."
Ben looked at you questioningly; "he's, uh, an old friend of mine," you wrinkled your nose.
Uma entered the ro
\om, followed by Harry. "Maybe I can hitch a ride. The Isle is my home, someone needs to be there to protect it."
"Well, then, you will need your first mate". You smiled at them, already fond of the pirates.
"The Isle will be in very good hands."
The room fell silent, but Celia broke the ice, "Can I go, too?I wish I could be in both places," she gave Mal a sad smile.
So, it was settled. You were leaving the following day.
….
"I'll be back soon, stay here," you told the guards.
"Good luck, Y/N," Uma placed her hand on your shoulder and you smiled at her.
"Thanks, guys, for everything."
"Nay," shrugged Harry, "no big deal but, seriously, if ya ever visit, come to the ship."
With that, you parted ways. You knew how to get to Hades' by heart, from every part of the Isle; so it took you no time to reach the entrance of his lair.
You let out a breath and went in.
"Look who showed up after the curtain closed, heard you helped Mal beating the witch wannabe," he didn't even have to look your way to know who had traspassed his property; it was enough with the sound of your step.
"I… How did you even hear that?" You tried to avoid the elephant in the room.
Ignoring your question, he continued as he added what you noticed were the final ingredients to one of the potions that he sold at the market. "Congrats, really. Guess I taught you well. Now, let me guess, you came to say a final goodbye now that you're welcomed to join the goodie-two-shoes once again; it was fun having you, Y/N/N."
Now, you straight up scoffed at him, "dude, chill, don't get all cheesy and sad on me. I'm here because I need a favor; actually, Mal needs a favor."
He looked at you and you could see that he was angry, broken, and yet willing to help you out once again, "okay then, little flame, I'm listening.
You looked around the room,  then looked at him, "It's Audrey, she's under the sleeping curse."
He crossed his arms over his chest and raised a brow, "so what, didn't you use the ember to wake her?"
"Couldn't do it," you admitted. "Guess I'm not as connected to it anymore."
He scoffed, glaring at you, "Who would've thought, it's been what, four years? Not that I'm keeping record."
Even if his tone was sharp and his eyes seemed hateful, you could read him like an open book; and, to say that it broke you to see him so hurt because of you was quite too little to express what you felt. "Hades, I… I'm sorry."
At this point, your eyes were boring into his pleadingly, but his pride didn't let him forgive you so easily.
"You're sorry?" he exclaimed. "Jeez, little flame, that's a relief! I'm glad a lowlife villain like myself is at least worthy of your apologies!"
For a moment, your sadness and regret were clouded by anger. You were forcing yourself to be brave enough to make amends and here he was, being a complete dick without even listening to you.
Stepping closer to him, with only a few inches between the two of you, you barked, "look, I'm actually trying here. So if you could shove your ego up your ass for a second and listen, that'd be fucking great!"
He smirked, closing the gap even more, "at least you haven't completely lost it yet."
When the steam of the moment dissolved into the air, you stepped back and sat down, using your hand for inviting him to do the same. "Now, the truth is, I did try to call; I tried to reach you the last time I was here, but I… I don't know. I was afraid of losing Mal to you. I was afraid of losing the world outside to you."
He remained silent so you continued, "When I was chosen to go to Auradon, I thought I had lost everything. Then I just met all of this great people and discovered that I'd… I..." you huffed. "Who am I trying to trick. The truth is I was awfully ungrateful with you, and a terrible friend and I'm really sorry."
He quirked a brow.
"Yes, I'm sorry, and as much as you'd like to hear more, that's all that I have to say."
"What were you saying about not getting all sad and cheesy? Oh, right, 'dude chill!' " He mocked you with a high pitched voice, making you smile.
"When do we leave?"
"As soon as possible."
….
When you got to Auradon, the guards told you that the king had sent specific instructions for Hades' stay. You were forced to head back to your place, and he was kept in a small version of the magic dome for the night. Next morning, when you were already back at Audrey's dorm, he was taken there by at least eight guards.
The former god entered the room, his limbs adorned with silver cuffs, and his face sporting a snarl of disgust to which you had become familiar with a long time ago.
Mal walked up to him, closely followed by you.
"Thank you," she said, "for coming."
"Didn't do it just for you," his eyes caught yours.
Ben and Mal shared a confused look, but the king broke it and asked, "can you wake her?'’
"Since when do heroes care about villains?" asked Hades, turning the cards around.
Ben trailed off, "she's..."
The god completed the young king's sentence, "one of your own. Right, When you guys try to destroy the world… it's an error in judgment. But when it's one of us… lock them up and throw away the key."
He scoffed, "right, Beast?"
After having a stare down with the former king, who had imprisoned the god and stripped him off his magic all those years ago, he raised his hands, but the guards restrained him immediately, going full defense.
"Yeah. I'm gonna need to use my hands," he declared.
He extended his hand, silently asking for the ember.  Mal handed it to him and this time he was not restrained.
When he grabbed the gem that was rightfully his, his hair lit up.
He smirked, "haven't lost my touch."
The former lord of the dead stepped closer to the bed, he began the countercourse and the room was showered on a blue light, beaming with his power.
Audrey woke up, wishing for it all to be a nightmare. "I'm sorry. I wanted to hurt you both. I wanted to hurt all of you," she sighed.
Mal and Ben approached her bed. "I have owed you an apology for… a very long time now," said Mal, Ben agreed, "and so have I."
Then, Audrey's grandma, whose name you still couldn't recall, apologized to Mal. Just then, Beast motioned the guards to seize Hades, and to take him away once again. How classy, apparently a villain didn't even deserve a thank you.
After the guards exited the room, you followed them into the hallway.
"Wait! Guess I'll see you later," you smiled. "Say hi to Pain and Panic for me."
"They'll be thrilled to hear from you," he tried to smirk back, his expression just as sad as yours. "Thanks for a glimpse of the sun, by the way."
Without thinking twice, you walked up to him and pressed your lips to his, framing his left cheek with your right hand. The kiss wasn't as hungry as you would've expected it to be, but it was eager and full of feelings. It was the perfect way to say I'm gonna miss you.
No word was uttered afterwards. Your foreheads remained against each other  for a few seconds, and his blue eyes looked at yours in a way in which they hadn't before, yet he didn't smile. You both stepped back, turned around, he slipped the ember into your hand, and then you left your separate ways. You smiled to yourself and held the familiar gem, feeling its power and warmth curse through you.
Days passed and you couldn't stop thinking about that kiss; you hadn't told anyone and it was eating you alive. So, now that you were at Evie's, wrapped around a blanked by the fire, watching a movie with your two best friends, you were gonna do it. You grabbed the remote and pressed pause, taking a breath and looking at them.
"Guys I need to tell you something. I'm sorry if it upsets you but it's been drowning me for some time now. I, I kissed Hades the day he came here to wake Audrey up."
Evie smiled at you but Mal was frozen in shock, her mouth was agape and her eyes were wide open. She tried to say something but words didn't come out.
You continued, fidgeting with your blanket, "M, I know that things have been quite tense between you but I couldn't lose him; I couldn't let him go back to the Isle without knowing how I felt and, believe me, I've tried to tell you guys before but I was also figuring this whole thing out."
Evie grabbed Mal's hand supportingly, then the fae took a breath and smiled at you. "Thanks for telling me this, Y/I.''
"You guys, you're my best friends. There's no one else I'd trust with this," you smiled at them, glad that they'd had taken it so well.
Mal sighed, "still, I can't reverse my decret to close the barrier Y/N. I'm sorry, you know that no matter what, I'll always be there for you; but I have a kingdom to think of and, even if Hades has helped us out and, even if he's your friend or… whatever he is," she chuckled, both of you joining for a second, "I can't overlook the crimes he's committed."
Your head and your heart were divided. You knew that Mal was speaking as a queen and not as a friend, and were utterly happy that she supported you, even with everything that was going on between her and Hades; but you couldn't stop yourself from being disappointed in the fact that she didn't even consider letting him out of the Isle.
Even so, you gave her a tender smile and hummed, "I know M, and I wouldn't think of asking you to do it for me. I just had to talk this out with you, it didn't feel right to keep it to myself."
"We're happy for you, Y/I," Evie smiled.
"Very," agreed Mal.
…..
Now, a few days later, you were happy again, as happy as you could be with everything that had happened. Standing between Evie and Carlos, you clapped as Ben and Mal appeared on the balcony.
"Lady Mal and I wanna thank you for celebrating our engagement with us today. I couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my Queen." Ben looked at Mal lovingly, and to be honest you felt only a bit jealous of their happiness; but they both deserved it, after going through so much. "So… raise your glasses to our future Queen of Auradon."
"To our Queen of Auradon!”
"To our Queen of Auradon!" you cheered.
"Speech, Your Special-ness," mocked Carlos.
Jay followed, "speech, Your Fancy One."
"Speech, your oh-so-royalness," you winked at her.
She chuckled and smiled apologetically, then she fell serious and the crowd became silent.
She turned toward Ben, "I can't. I can't be Queen of Auradon. I can't turn my back on the Isle."
After you looked at her, nodding in encouragement, she began talking to the people. 'We made a decision… to close the barrier forever; and it was my idea, but it's wrong. I've learned that you can't live in fear because it doesn't actually protect you from anything. You never know where the bad is gonna come from. And you never know where the heroes are gonna come from either."
Carlos grabbed your hand, in assurance.
Mal continued, "Without Uma and her pirates, Auradon would be gone. And without Hades, my father, Audrey would be gone. We are all capable of good and bad, no matter which side of the barrier we come from. And that's why I can't be Queen of just Auradon. I have to be Queen of the Isle, too. And it's time that we take the barrier down forever."
Ben placed a hand on her back, and spoke in her support. "I choose to be a King who moves forward. It's time for forgiveness. It's time for new beginnings. The barrier will come down!"
"Yes!" "Woo!" you and Carlos cheered.
"Bring it down, Mal," and so, the five of you did it together.
After everyone on both sides had processed what had just happened, a sea of villains and vks flooded the bridge and came to Auradon; your eyes surfed the crowd, looking for the face you wanted to see, but he was nowhere in sight. Some of the Auradon kids made their way to the gates, to welcome the newcomers, so you joined your friends at the very front of the bunch.
Everyone was dancing and singing and celebrating, so you let the vibes absorb you. You danced and cheered with the rest, but when the party mood dimmed out a bit, you finally saw the spikes of blue hair that you were looking for moments before. However, you didn't approach Hades, you went straight to Mal.
"He came," you said, anxiety dripping from you.
She smiled at you reassuringly and advised, "Get out there and tell him how you feel; he's a complete idiot not to feel the same."
"M, I can't," you insisted, "what if he doesn't?"
She smirked at you, "as I said, only a complete idiot wouldn't like you back."
You let out a breath, shook your fear out, and looked around to see where he was. Much to your despair, or your relief, he had been standing behind a group of people nearby.
"So, how exactly do you feel?" he smirked. "I think it wasn't clear enough the other day."
"Look, I've liked you for quite sometime now," you confessed. "Maybe a few decades. The kiss the other day, it was just me spilling it all; you don't have to like me back, but I just had to tell you."
" 'Dude, chill! Don't get all cheesy on me'," again, there was his cheap impression of you.
This time, you couldn't help but laugh and roll your eyes at him and, before you could say anything, his hands flew to your waist and his lips were on yours once again. This time, both of you were absorbed by the moment and let the kiss be everything that the first one had not been. He bit your lower lip and granted himself entrance to your mouth, which you accepted happily. You separated to catch your breath and smiled. He looked at you like he had before and avowed, "Nah, I think I don't like you that much, little flame."
Once again, you laughed and punched him playfully, "shut up, really."
"Or what?" he challenged, making you blush.
You recovered quickly, and whispered into his ear, "I guess you'll find out later, maybe at my place."
"Welcome to Auradon, by the way." You kissed his cheek, grabbing his hand and leading him to where Mal and the others were.

Robert Sugden Week 2020
Day4 - Quote
He didn’t mean to shout at Harry and Evie. He didn’t mean to make them cry. But when they knocked that stupid drawer down with all the stuff in it… he just lost it. Not particularly because he cared about the drawer. No. He only cared about that little wooden box with his most precious memories in it. And when he saw the watch lying on the floor broken, he suddenly lost his temper.
He told the kids to be careful to not run around in the house because they might break something, however, he never thought they would damage that particular box with that particular item in it. Obviously it was an accident, and he knew that, but right in that moment, he was incapable of thinking straight.
He couldn’t wait for Vic to finally take Harry home, and Evie along with him, so he could go and try to get it repaired. The kids were still upset and Vic noticed. Of course, she did. And she was mad at Aaron…. because he didn’t say a single word. She kinda felt that something was off, but it wasn’t until they were walking down the road when the kids told her. And yeah she was mad at him… at first. But when the kids told her what happened exactly, she changed her mind.
“Why was uncle Aaron so mad?” – asked Harry. He was 4 years old and clearly had no idea about the circumstances. It’s not like Vic told him much about her brother. What would be the point, she thought. – “Does this mean we can never go to the Mill again? We didn’t mean to break that box.” – he pouted. Vic looked at Evie who was nodding along with Harry.
“Oh, no, uncle Aaron loves you very much.” – she smiled trying to figure out a way to calm down the kids without telling them too much. – “It’s just, that box… well … okay, how about you imagine your favorite toy. What is it?” – she asked her son first.
“Kong.” – smiled Harry. Actually it was Aaron who gave him a plush lion as a birthday present last year. It was Harry’s favorite ever since.
“I thought you might say that.” – smiled Vic as they continued walking home. – “And you?” – she turned to Evie.
“The barbie doll mummy bought for me.” – she said.
“Okay well imagine if your favorite toy was broken, you’d be sad then, right?”
“So uncle Aaron had his favorite toy in there and now it’s broken?” – wondered Harry. – “But it was a really small box. Not many toys can fit there.” – he said thinking hard. Vic had to smile at her son’s thinking.
“It’s… erm… something like that. You know what, if uncle Aaron wants to tell you I’m sure he will, but for now let’s just go home, and later on you can both apologize to him.”
“Do we have to?” – asked Evie. – “We didn’t do it on purpose.”
“Yes. You do.” – told them Vic firmly. It was the end of the discussion, but Vic knew the kids might ask questions later. She of course knew how important that box was for Aaron. Not that he told her what was in it, but she remembered one day when she was searching for a tissue and she stumbled upon it. She looked at the drawer found the box and peeked inside. She knew Aaron might have kept the watch and the rings but she had no idea he kept them there. He never talked about it.
Later that day she went to the Mill, to talk to Aaron, but he wasn’t there. She tried calling but he didn’t answer. She went home, but she was determined to speak to him about what happened.
She only had the chance 2 days later.
He finally got home from Hotten, and even though he was only in one particular shop, he was exhausted. It felt like he spent the full day there when in reality the owner only called him to let him know he can pick up his watch.
After the accident, Aaron drove there the same day and asked if it can be fixed. He was lucky, the owner took a look at the broken glass and told him it would be as good as new in 2 days’ time. And he kept his word. The traffic was a nightmare but Aaron didn’t mind. Having that watch home again, where it belonged, fully functioning how Robert left it… that’s what mattered to him.
He was sitting on the couch with the watch on his wrist. He couldn’t risk it being broken again. He knew the kids will most likely knock things over in the future as well, and he didn’t want a repeat performance. He slowly rolled up the sleeves of his jumper to look at it, before he took it off to check the inscription. Days he held close to his heart, memories he knew he’d never forget no matter what. Then out of the blue, he remembered their second wedding, Robert’s speech… and the things he said in return. He remembered how he didn’t have an actual speech ready. He tried, but he just couldn’t write it down. How could he? How could he form elegant words into sentences that would’ve done justice to his feelings? He didn’t even know what he said but one thing stayed with him.
“You’ve always been there for me and you always make stuff better.”
He said this to Robert in front of the whole village and it was true. He never cared about money or any kind of job, nothing really as long as Robert was there to make it all better. He helped him through so much, and now he can’t do the same for him. Because even now with all these years passed…. he’s not letting him. And it hurt.
He didn’t realize he was crying before he saw a teardrop landed on the back of the watch. He wiped his face with his sleeves just as someone rang the doorbell. He sniffed a couple of times before he quickly grabbed the watch, putting it on again, as he walked to the door.
“Hiya Aaron, can I come in?” – asked Vic with a weak smile. Aaron moved out of the way to let her inside but he didn’t let her start, he knew why she was there anyway.
“Look, Vic, I’m sorry about the other day.”
“Well yeah, they were a bit upset.”
“I know, I shouldn’t have shouted, I’m so sorry. They’re not mad, are they?” – he asked biting his lip.
“No, they’re fine. Actually I told them they needed to apologize…”
“No, that’s not… it’s not nece…”
“It is.” – she said finally sitting down. She noticed a box on the table, and she assumed he got the watch repaired but she couldn’t see it.
“Look… I was only mad because…”
“I know Aaron.” – interrupted Vic. Aaron looked at her confused, but her next words cleared the air for him. – “Where’s the watch? Tell me they didn’t trash it completely.”
“No erm…. it’s here.” – he said lifting his sleeve to let Vic see.
“Oh, I’m glad you…”
“How did ya know?” – asked Aaron suddenly. – “About the watch I mean. I don’t think I let either Harry or Evie stay there after they knocked that damn thing over.”
“No, erm… I knew you kept it there… with the rings….” – she said making Aaron raise his eyebrows – “I was searching for a tissue or something years ago and I just found it by accident.”
“You never said.”
“I thought it’s best if I don’t mention it.” – she said and Aaron stayed silent. – “I know it’s not my place, but if you wanna talk…”
“No, erm…” - he said clearing his throat before the need to start crying again overwhelm him. – “I’m fine.” – he said turning around to pretend like he needs a drink from the kitchen. – “Do ya… erm.. do you need something? Water… juice, tea?”
“No, I’m fine.” – said Vic knowing exactly what state Aaron was in. She knew he still cared. She didn’t know the feelings were still this deep though. – “If I could help I would, you know that right?”
“Yeah.” – he said still turning his back to her. – “Look, Vic, I don’t wanna sound rude or anything but…”
“Okay, I’m going, but I meant it Aaron the kids need to apologize, otherwise they never learn.”
“Okay just … not today. I can’t today.” – he said whispering the second part. Vic quickly left afterwards and only when she was about to open her door it hit her. The date. It was the 5th of October.

Dyscalculia
Summary: Harry Hook has never been good with numbers. Maybe there’s a reason why…
Author’s Note: One of my favourite fanfictions I’ve ever written.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It all started with a failed test
Nervous students sat around the classroom, tapping pencils, chewing at their lips or bouncing their legs in anticipation. That did not go for Harry Hook, who sat relaxed, leaning back in his chair with his feet pushed up against the edge of his desk. Absentmindedly watching as Fairy Godmother wondered around the classroom giving out the test results. When she reaches him, he lazily takes the test between his fingers, ignoring the disapproving stare she gives him.
Uma watches on from next to him as he looks at the paper, seeming to shrug at it before he puts it down on the desk and resumes leaning back in his chair.
She’s distracted as a sheet of paper passes in front of her face as Fairy Godmother puts her result on her desk. She cracks a smile at the B she sees at the top of the page. It’s nothing compared to Evie’s A+ in the desk in front of her, but she and the rest of her group have over a year’s worth of better education than the rest of them. Evie squeaks in excitement before turning to Mal to show her her result.
“What did you get?” Uma turns back to Harry, having nothing else to do to occupy her time.
He looks up from where he was pulling at the hem of his untucked shirt and over to her before he leans forward to grab the paper off the desk. He holds it up so it balances vertically and turns it around in his fingers. Disappointment flashes through Uma at the sight of the F written in red. Though, Harry seems unfased as he shows her the paper long enough for her to read the letter five times over. She turns away to look at her desk, confused at how to feel.
The education system as it was in Auradon is still new to them. Teachers actually expected students to get good grades, and as little as Uma new about that system, she knew that a F wasn’t any good. She was sure that Harry knew that and the fact that he didn’t seem fazed bothered her.
“Did you even try?” she asks, an irritated tone slipping into her voice.
“Mhmm” Harry nods his head, seeming confused at why Uma appears to be annoyed at him.
Their conversation takes a pause while Fairy Godmother informs them about their homework and dismisses the class.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Why don’t you seem to care?” Uma asks Harry as she jogs up behind him and Gil who were ahead of her in the hallway.
“Care about what?” Gil asks, looking between Uma and Harry.
“Harry didn’t do well in the test” Uma explains blatantly, as they exit the main building and step outside.
“Oh, what did you guys get? I got a B-” Gil declares excitedly.
“Wahey!” Harry makes a noise of celebration, a smile lighting up his face. “Who knew you were so good at math?” he says as he walks backward in front of them, giving Gil a bro five.
“Harry, focus” Uma reprimands.
“What did you get Uma?” Gil asks her.
“I got a B, but that doesn’t matter” Uma speaks quickly only to get the answer out of the way, closing her eyes in irritation.
“That’s better than me!” Gil exclaims happily.
“You wanna ask Harry how he did?” Uma snaps sassily.
But in his excitement, Gil isn’t fazed and turns to Harry. “Harry, what did you get?”
“I failed” he says neutrally.
“Aw” Gil’s face drops in disappointment, though in a different kind to Uma’s.
“Don’t worry about it, mate” Harry tells him, giving him a clap on the back.
“Don’t worry about it?” Uma scoffs and stops in her tracks. Harry then doing the same.
“I’m gonna go meet up with the rest of the crew by the lake” Gil says hesitantly as he backs away from them, not wanting to be a part of their fight. He doesn’t wait for either of them to respond before he speeds off towards the forest.
Meanwhile Uma seems to be trying to stare Harry down. “I’m not going to fight with you, Uma” Harry sighs, shaking his head.
Uma widens her eyes and gestures with her hand for him to continue.
“I didn’t fail it on purpose. I’m just not surprised that I did.”
The only way that Harry could tell he was in the clear was by Uma not saying a word as she turns around on her heels and walks toward the forest.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Uma is startled out of her reading by Harry throwing his pencil down at the desk by her window. She looks up to see him leaning back in her desk chair, his hands scrunching up his hair making it stick out in odd places. Concerned but saying nothing, she clambers off her bed and walks over to him. Reaching down, she picks up his pencil from the floor next to the desk before putting it back on the surface.
“It doesn’t make any sense” Harry complains.
“It’s homework, it’s not supposed to make any sense” she jokes, leaning her hip against the side of the desk.
“No, I mean that it literally doesn’t make any sense” Harry states angrily, his fingers tightening into claws.
“Hey, settle down” Uma soothes, pulling a chair over to her desk to sit next to him. “What doesn’t make sense?”
“Any of it” Harry looks back at the paper with wide eyes, seeming scared.
Uma furrows her brow, not understanding why Harry would be reacting like this. “Tell me what bit and I’ll help you out” she suggests.
“No, you’re not listening” Harry tells her angrily, but Uma knows that the emotion is at himself. “None of this makes any sense.”
Uma stops short of replying when she looks at the blank sheet in front of him. He’d been working on it for about an hour by now and he’d barely made a mark on the page. Some of the unanswered questions seemed easy to her and she didn’t understand why he couldn’t answer them – he’d been to just as many classes as she had.
“I can’t do it” Harry interrupts her thoughts as he shakes his head.
“Of course, you can” Uma assures him cheerfully.
“No, I can’t” Harry chokes out as he leans forward over the desk, covering his eyes with the heels of his hands with a sniff.
Uma had heard about people being driven to crying from a sheer amount of frustration, but she had never pictured Harry being one to do that. Her heart breaks a little at the prospect.
“They’re going to send me back” Harry speaks with his words aimed toward the desk.
“They won’t send you back” Uma denies quickly, not even dwelling on the prospect. In her mind it wasn’t possible that anyone would send him back to the Isle, she would never let that happen.
“Hey?” she says softly when Harry doesn’t move. “They won’t send you back” she continues, putting her hands on his shoulders to turn him around to face her. He doesn’t resist and sits up to look at her. Uma is relieved to find that no tears have fallen, although his eyes are shining.
“Let’s call this a day, yeah?” Uma suggests. “Your brain’s overworked, there’s no point trying to get it to do things if it doesn’t want to.”
Harry nods taking a deep breath, seeming to calm down a bit.
“Cool, cause I wanna get out of here” Uma says standing up. “Let’s go find the crew.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The next test result he gets doesn’t come back alone, this time with a blue detention slip stapled to the top.
Uma watches from next to him as he tips his head back, his eyes closing in defeat. She feels sad for him, it’s not like he wasn’t trying.
“What did you get?” Uma asks leaning over to him.
He doesn’t say anything as he flips his test around so she can see the D written on the page.
“It’s better” she encourages, ignoring the fact that her own result had just been placed on her desk.
Harry looks at her with an expression that is begging her not to find a positive in the situation. “What did you get?” he asks her, an undertone of despair in his voice.
Uma turns back to her desk and flips over the paper, “B again.”
When she turns back, she sees Harry reading the detention slip. “When is it?”
“This afternoon, 3:30 to 5:30” Harry recites. “I’ll miss meeting up with the crew.”
Uma purses her lips, knowing that he’ll be disappointed about that. “Better not make detention a regular thing. You already got one last week for refusing to keep your shirt tucked in.”
“What are they going to do? Call my parents?” Harry scoffs, but his laugh doesn’t reach his eyes.
“Guess not” Uma says before following the rest of the class in packing up their things.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Harry had been staring off into space for a good part of half an hour, which was impressive since he never seemed to sit still. He hadn’t said anything since he came back from detention apart from that he had had to reorganise library books in alphabetical order. Uma had been watching him as he sat on her bed from over at her desk, but he hadn’t seemed to notice, which was another problem because she wasn’t exactly being subtle about it.
“What you thinking?” she finally breaks the silence.
“Mhmm?” Harry breaks his daze and looks over to her.
“It’s about the maths test, why you’re distracted. Isn’t it?” Uma guesses as she gets out of her chair and comes to sit on the edge of her bed.
“I’ve been thinking…” she hesitates not knowing how to continue. She twirls her braids between her fingers wondering if it’s too late to back out of what she was going to say. But she knows she needs to, so she sighs before she continues, “that there must be a reason why you struggle so much at maths.”
It doesn’t surprise Uma that Harry says nothing. But when she looks up at him, she knows that he’s listening.
“Your father owns a store full of clocks, you carry around a pocket watch – you’ve been surrounded by numbers your whole life - and you can’t tell the time” Uma points out. “Has that never struck you as being weird?”
“Thought I was just stupid” Harry mumbles, looking at his hands clasped together on his lap.
“You’re not stupid, Harry” Uma disagrees. “There must be an underlying issue.”
“Like what?”
Uma inhales a deep breath, squeezing her eyes shut to calm her thoughts. She’s never been so nervous about telling anyone anything, frankly because she doesn’t know how Harry will react. “I don’t know how to say it” she admits.
“Well just spit it out!” Harry begs her. “Nothing’s as bad as sitting here thinking about every worst possible option!”
Uma huffs out a sigh and shuffles herself around to face Harry directly. “Have you ever heard of Dyscalculia?”
Harry shakes his head.
“It’s where people have difficulty understanding numbers and concepts in maths” Uma explains, “like learning to count, or understanding graphs and charts.” She looks over at Harry, seeming not to be moving as she talks.
“They might still need their fingers to count, or struggle with using math in day to day life.”
“Stop!” Harry chokes out as he puts his head in his hands, tucking his knees up to his chest. The descriptions all too familiar for him.
“Harry?” Uma speaks softly.
“They’re gonna send me back” Harry’s panicked words are muffled by his knees.
“They won’t” Uma repeats to him.
“They will” Harry interjects. “Once they find out that I’m incapable of learning. They can’t have someone like me running around screwing up their reputation.”
“You’re not incapable of learning” Uma shakes her head.
“Well maybe not” Harry agrees. “But do you really think that they’re going to put in any extra effort for a Villain kid like me?” he asks her as he untucks his legs and gets off the bed.
Uma stands up with him and watches as he makes his way to the door.
“It’d just be easier to throw me out!” he snaps before he leaves.
Uma is quick to close the gap between her and the door. Leaning out of the doorframe she sees him halfway down the hallway, his coat billowing out behind him.
“Harry!” she calls out to him as she steps out fully into the corridor. He doesn’t turn around.
She’s about to follow him when she hears the unmistakable sound of Evie’s voice from two doorways in front of her, “what’s wrong with him?”
Uma turns to her and opens her mouth to say something but no words come out. She purses her lips together and runs her fingers through her hair with a sigh before shaking her head, “I messed up.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Uma felt uncomfortable as she sat in a chair by the windows of Mal and Evie’s room. Her surroundings are too pretty for her liking with all the racks of beautiful dresses lining the walls of the room. Evie sits at her sewing desk with a look of concern on her face, Mal standing beside her with her arms crossed and a neutral expression, while Uma tells them her theory.
“He’s convinced that they’ll send him back” Uma says as she rounds her story to a close.
It surprises Uma that Mal is the first to speak in denying, “they won’t.”
“I should never have told him” Uma sighs as she brings her legs up onto the chair, hugging them self-consciously to her chest. She messed up, and she knows she’s messed up even more in telling Mal and Evie about a situation that Harry most definitely wouldn’t want them to know about. But it was her only option, they would be able to help him because she couldn’t do it on her own.
“No, you did the right thing” Evie assures her gently. Uma despises in this moment that she actually appreciates Evie’s positive attitude.
“I don’t know what to do” Uma admits shaking her head.
“Bring him here and we’ll talk with him” Mal says as she uncrosses her arms. “Do you know where he went?”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It was no question for Uma where Harry would be. When either of them ever got upset they would always find a place by water. Her feet carefully balance on the unstable rocks as she makes a path down to a secluded bank at the edge of the Enchanted Lake. She feels at home with the sound of water traveling downward in the streams all around her. Stepping out of the bushes that open out to the bank she finds Harry sitting on a flat mound of rocks looking out at the water. When he hears her footsteps, he turns around and she sees tears shimmering in his eyes.
She says nothing as she comes to sit next to him so that their shoulders touch, or as she wraps her arm around his waist. At her protective stance Harry breaks and turns crying into her shoulder. Still she says nothing as the strong image of her first mate shatters in front of her, she only spreads out her fingers and moves her thumb in circles on his side. She leans her head on top of his as his sobs shake his body. But all too soon he pulls away wiping the tears off his face with a deep breath.
For awhile they stay together in silence, watching the ripples in the water before Uma stands up. “We’ve got some people who want to talk to you” she says holding her hand out for him.

By the looks of things Harry isn’t any more comfortable being in Mal and Evie’s room than Uma was herself. Of course, he is in some form of interrogation as he sits in the chair Uma had sat in, while she sits in one which she had pulled up next to him. One of his legs is pulled up to his chest, serving to push him further back into the chair as if he would be able to disappear through it. The scene looks remarkably like a parent meeting with the school principle, except no one had done anything wrong.
“It’s just a theory” Uma concludes a conversation, looking over at Harry who hadn’t been paying attention and had missed all the words that were said.
“Even still, we’ll get Fairy Godmother to check” Evie says as she looks at both Uma and Harry. “She’ll be able to confirm it for you.”
Uma nods her head in thanks, while Harry remains still and unmoving.
“I have to meet with her about the royal gala plans later, I’ll ask about a time for you to go see her” Evie continues as Uma and Harry get up to leave. “I’ll let you know when.”

Walking down the hallway they are only steps away from the door when they hear Mal call out Harry’s name from behind them. Stopping in their tracks, Uma gives Harry a look and nods her head in the direction she’s going before turning and walking away.
“Harry” Mal repeats as she makes her way towards him now standing alone. He turns toward her as she stops in front of him.
“Even if it is…” she trails off not wanting to utter the word ‘dyscalculia’ as if it would curse him into an early diagnosis, and she also figures that he wouldn’t want to hear it. She takes a breath before trying again. “Even if it is, they won’t send you back. Ben won’t allow it” Mal shakes her head. “No one here knows the Isle like we do, but they know enough to not send anyone back. Especially for reasons beyond their control.”
At the conclusion of her sentence she has nothing else to say and neither does he. Her eyes find his and she fixes him with a look of promise, to which he nods before they go their separate ways.

The heel of Uma’s boot taps nervously on the tile floor beneath the bench she sits on. Through the wall she knows Fairy Godmother sits with Harry running the diagnostic. Even though she sits outside, she hadn’t offered to go in with him. This was something that she knew he would want to do alone.
It seemed like an eternity waiting out in the empty hallway, although Fairy Godmother had told them it would only be a matter of minutes. Uma wishes she was able to just wave her magic wand and get the process over and done with, but spells like that are frowned upon in Auradon. The brain is too fragile of a subject to perform magic on.
At long last Uma hears the sound of a door handle click next to her, she springs off the bench and turns around to face Harry as he closes the door behind him. He says nothing as he turns to her, the look in his eyes gives her all the confirmation she needs, though he doesn’t look upset.
She doesn’t say anything either as they turn to head back the dorms down the hallway, her hand slipping onto his.

The next time Harry is handed back his maths test, he’s not fixed with a disappointed look from Fairy Godmother. Instead she gives him a small smile as she walks past him, placing the paper on his desk, no detention slip attached.
Uma completely ignoring the rule for all class members to remain seated, gets out of her chair and steps behind him to look over his shoulder. A smile spreads over both their faces as they see the C+ written in the corner.

“I lied to you.” You stare at Mal in confusion, “Wh-what do you mean you lied?” You ask hesitantly, “No one will be coming over from the isle.” You eyebrows furrow and you turn to Harry, the look on his face was unreadable. “In fact, the barrier is going to be closed permanently.” You gasp as she says this and Uma laughs, “Hold up,” she walks over to Mal, “You’re telling me, we’re helping you save your people and your friends all for nothing? You’re not keeping your promise?” She pauses before a solemn look spreads her face, “I knew it was a mistake to trust you. You always look out for yourself.”
You stand there in shock, not believing what Mal has just said, “And you, King Ben.” Harry lets go of your hand as he walks over to Ben, “Harry don’t.” You mumble quietly, “King Ben ay,” His face drops and he looks down at the floor, “You’re probably just going to throw us all back inside.” You feel a tear fall down your cheek as those words leave his mouth, “I’m sorry, I had no choice, for Auradon’s safety.” You step back as Celia walks forward, “I thought you were brave, but you’re nothing but chicken. You lied to me, to all of us, I’ll never see my dad again now.” She grabs the ember from Mal’s hand throwing it in a fountain next to her. “Celia no!” You watch as the ember burns out and Mal grabs it, using a spell to try and reignite it, when it doesn’t work she turns to Uma, “Bummer.” You keep your eyes down as Uma doesn’t help Mal reignite the ember with her necklace.
“Y/N.” You look up to see Uma staring at you, “Let’s go find Gil and leave them to rot.”
You look between Mal and Uma, torn between your best friend and your boyfriends best friend, “I,” Harry tilts his head as he walks over to you, “Don’t consider staying Y/N, they don’t deserve your loyalty. She lied to you, to all of us.” You drop your head unsure of what to do, Mal had been your friend for years and although she’d lied to you, if you walked away from her now you would feel so guilty.
“Y/N, I don’t wanna stand here another second, are you coming with us or not?” Uma pushes you to make a decision and you look up at Harry, tears in your eyes, “I don’t know what to do.” Is all you say before looking over his shoulder at Mal. “I can’t believe you lied to us.” Your voice is quiet and riddled with emotional pain, betrayal was the worst feeling. “I did it for us, for our new lives.” You shake your head, “What’s the point though Mal? When we left the isle, we knew the conditions, and what it was like over there, and you had the opportunity to stop children living like that and you blew it, for everyone else’s safety? What about their safety?” Your voice cracks as you remember everything you went through before leaving the isle. “I sacrificed everything for a better life, the reward being that you’d do the same and save the isle, but you’re not even doing that now.”
You take a step back as she takes a step forward, “Don’t.” She reaches for you but you stop her, “I’m-“ She stops herself, “You’re exactly who I thought you were Mal. You’ve not changed at all, you say you’re good now but really you’re still selfish and only look out for yourself and your friends, I thought I was your friend,” She interrupts you, “You are Y/N, I’m sorry.” You close your eyes and shake your head, “So you keep saying, but they say actions speak louder than words, if you really meant it, you wouldn’t be closing the barrier.”
You turn to look at Evie, Carlos and Jay one last time before turning to Ben, “I thought you were better than that. So much for being a man of the people.” Harry grabs your hand and you walk away from the scene with him and Uma, Mal calling after you but none of you turn back.
“I can’t believe she’d do that.” You say as you walk out of the forest and onto the castle lawn, “I can. All she’s ever done is look out for herself, I knew this time wouldn’t be any different.” You sigh as you walk in between two of your closet friends, still unsure of what to believe, all you ever did was help Mal, and now she’d turned down the one thing you wanted her to do.
“Y/N!” Uma says getting your attention, you look up and see Mal and Audrey fighting, “She’ll loose without the ember.” You say and Uma looks at you, “I have to help her.” Is all you say before you attempt to help Mal but Harry pulls you back, into his arms and kisses you, “Even after everything, you still want to help her, she doesn’t deserve you.” He kisses your cheek before saying, “Be safe.” He pulls away, a small smile on his lips as your cheeks redden, “I will.” You peck his lips again and he slowly lets you go, “I love you.” Your heart swells as he smiles, “I love you too.” Uma rolls her eyes, “You two are such saps.” She then grabs your arm and pulls you with her, running to Mal and Audrey.
“Mal! Mal, we’re with you.” You yell as you get her attention, she looks down at you and flies to be just in front of you, “We’re right here,” You use your powers and cast a spell, and with Uma’s necklace it’s strong enough to reignite the ember, giving Mal the edge she needed over Audrey.
“You will never beat me!” Audrey yells as she leans over the castle wall, she spots you, Uma and Harry on the lawn. She smirks and blasts Mal with the sceptre before pointing it at you, you shy away as Uma jumps in front of you, “Be a real shame if Mal’s best friend was destroyed.” You panic as she keeps the sceptre pointed at you, “Stop this Audrey!” You yell but it only angers her more. “Stop this? I am only doing this because she took everything from me! Surely you can relate to that Y/N? When you left the isle she made you leave everything, your home, your mum, your boyfriend, and now she’s taking away the one thing she promised, she took everything from me and from you!”
You gulp, “Thats true Audrey but I forgave her, I got back everything I ever wanted, I got my mum back, I got Harry, I got Uma, Gil and I gained some many friends, including you, please stop.” She lowers the sceptre slightly and for a second she looks defeated, “You really think I’ve come this far just to give up now?” She smirks before using the sceptre to push Uma and Harry far enough away from you so you were vulnerable. “I’m sorry to do this but maybe if I start hurting people she love’s, Mal will see sense and give me what I want.”
She fires the sceptre and the power hits you, you feel it taking over your body as you fall into the grass and hear Audrey’s laugh echoing into the night. “Y/N.” Harry scrambles to his feet and runs over, quickly kneeling at your side, “I-“ you felt okay, “I don’t feel anything.” You look up at Harry who frowns, “What is it?” You ask, “It’s, your,” He grabs you face pulling your chin up, “Your eyes, they’re glowing pink.” Your eyebrows knit together, “Pink?” His eyes then widen and he grabs a few strands of your once black hair, “Your hair, it’s turning pink.” You gasp grabbing a few strands, “I-I.” Is all you manage to say before you feel a connection and you’re drawn to Audrey. “Love?” Harry questions as you stand up, fully focussed on helping Audrey. “Darlin’?” Harry walks by your side trying to get your attention but nothing pulls you out.
“Uma! Something happened to Y/N.” Harry yells and this gets Uma and Mal’s attention, “Don’t try and save her, she’s with me now.” Audrey laughs as a cloud of smoke surrounds you and you re appear next to her. “Be a good assistant and keep the hostage quiet.” Audrey points at Celia and you walk over to her, “Y/N don’t do this!” Celia begs before you grab her, holding her in your arms.
“Give it up Audrey!” Uma yells and Mal begins her fight back, combining her power and the embers power, you keep Celia quiet and only focus on what you’ve been asked. “Y/N I know you’re in there. You need to fight this,” Celia says and you ignore her, looking straight ahead and into the night sky.
“No!” You hear Audrey yell before you look and see her on the floor with the sceptre lay beside her, you look up and see Mal stood in front of you, releasing Celia she runs to her and you fall to the floor, the darkness too powerful.
— —
“Wake her up dad.” You hear voices but you can’t move, it’s like you’re being held down by the chains of sleep, everything felt heavy, until the blue appeared and you see a figure stood in front of you, “Wake up.” The mysterious man says and your eyes fly open before you sit up and look around the room. “Oh my god.”
Someone says before they’re hugging you, “I thought I’d lost you.” You hug the person back as you look to see who’s stood at the foot of your bed, “Wh-where’s Audrey? Is she okay? What happened?” You ask Mal and Uma, “She’s fine, she woke up a few days ago.” You frown, “A few days ago?” Harry nods as he moves so he’s sat next to you, “You’ve been asleep for nearly a week.” You lean on Harry as a state of shock takes over your body. “A week?” He puts his arms around you again and you rest your head on his shoulder, “Yeah, we weren’t sure if you were going to wake up at all love.” You take a deep breath, before asking, “Did everyone else wake up?” Mal nods, “We broke the spell when we defeated Audrey, it just seemed whatever spell she cast rebounded back onto her and you when we broke the original spell, we couldn’t figure out how to wake you until Audrey woke up and said Hades could wake you. Which was shocking cause we still aren’t sure as to how she woke up.” You sigh leaning into Harry more as you feel his warmth engulf you. “We’ll give you some space.” Everyone follows Mal out of the room and you shuffle so you’re lay down in the pillows, Harry laying beside you, facing one another.
“I’m sorry.” You say and he replies, “Why? You didn’t do anything love.” You shake your head, “I know but I feel I needed to say it.” He reaches up placing a hand on your cheek, running his warm fingers over your pale skin. “It’s okay, everything will work it’s self out.” You close your eyes and smile at him, “I’m glad you’re here. I missed you so much.” You move closer to him and bury your head in his chest as he wraps his arms around your waist. “Me too darlin’’ he sighs in content and you look up at him, “Let’s forget the past and look forward.” He nods and kisses your temple, “To us and the future.” He kisses you and you couldn’t be happier, after everything you’d been through on the isle and moving to Auradon and having to leave Harry behind, things were finally looking up.

What a Pirate part 2 (Harry Hook x reader)
Tumblr media
summary: The vk’s come back to the isle in hopes of bringing Mal back home, then they find out about y/n and Harry’s relationship.
word count: 1,243
1st part here
So after the whole incident of Harry taking y/n’s bracelet, this ‘stealing’ from each other became a thing. y/n had gotten her bracelet back, but that wasn’t the end. Whenever Harry gave her back whatever he had taken, he’d always take something else in it’s place. It was a never ending cycle-of course y/n had to pay Harry’s price to get her missing things back, and Harry being Harry always asked for the same thing-a kiss.
y/n at first thought that Harry was just messing with her, but why would someone repeatedly take your things and only return them for a kiss? Yeah it was weird. However she didn’t exactly mind-in fact she enjoyed seeing Harry quite a bit, probably more than she should for her own good-he was a flirt and a pirate and even worst-the enemy of her friends. But being around him made her happy and she didn’t really feel lonely anymore. She loved their chats and strolls-to say she was head over heels was an understatement.
Harry stood in front of y/n, his usual grin on his face as he dangled an earning that he had taken yesterday from his hook. “Ye know the price lass.” He teased from her doorway.
“Wh-how did you even get in here?” y/n asked, quickly turning around.
“I have my ways. Now what about our trade?“ He asked softly. Approaching her slowly he held his hook up to her, she smiled taking her earring back and Harry leaned in to kiss her softly, just as always. “Oh I got ye somethin...swiped it from a table when the seller wasn’t looking.” Harry told the girl after pulling away, y/n tilted her head in question and watched as he pulled a necklace from his pocket with a smile, he handed it over for her to see. The necklace had a thin silver chain connecting to a small shiny silver hook. y/n smiled down at the necklace looking up at the boy,
“You’re really obsessed with hooks, you know that?” y/n asked with a small giggle. “Thank you.” She added, attaching it around her neck. “I love it.” That made Harry smile a genuine smile-one of the ones that were oh so rare. “Wanna walk around the block?” y/n asked Harry and he agreed.
It was pretty dark and most people were in their homes, leaving the foggy streets empty. But as always, Auradon was in the distance and right now in the dark it was easy to spot it in all it’s bright glory. y/n took a moment to marvel at the view as always. “What’re ye thinking about?” Harry asked the girl, he slipped his hand into hers as they started their walk.
y/n shrugged, “just thinking about what Auradon must be like.” She said, “It’s just-it looks so beautiful from here, I can only imagine what it actually looks like there. Plus...my friends are there and sometimes I wonder what they’re up to.”
“You still miss them?”
“Of course, they’re the only family I’ve ever really had.” She told him, “after they left it just wasn’t been the same...but...” she turned to face the pirate with a happy smile “then I met you...I mean I already knew who you were but I probably wouldn’t have ever really known you if they had stayed here. Anyway they’re probably happy in Auradon. Plus, I still have Carlos’s pocket watch to give back so, I’ll see them again...some day.”
“That pocket watch I stole from you is Carlos’s?” Harry asked glancing down at the girl.
“Yeah he gave it to me before leaving, he said to keep it until he came back. You know, like a promise that he’d be back and wouldn’t completely forget about me.” The two continued to talk about whatever came up as they approached y/n’s place again, then there was the sound of hushed voices coming from the stairs leading up to her door, but whoever was there was hidden under the shadows.
“Another thief?” y/n asked under her breath, annoyed “that’s twice this week.” Harry took a step in front of the girl in a protective manner when the person at the top of the slid down the railing. Wait was that Jay? He looked up-spotting Harry and narrowed his eyes.
“Alright Hook, what’d you do to y/n?”
“Jay?” y/n asked-stepping out from behind Harry much to Jay’s surprise. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he looked between y/n and Harry.
“Wait, he didn’t kidnap you?“ He asked, approaching her and she did the same.
“What! No!“ She answered with an equal amount of confusion.
“You’re ok?“ Jay asked, putting a hand on her shoulder and forearm, inspecting her face for any sign of injury.
“Jay I’m fine...what are you doing here?”
“y/n!“ y/n looked back up to her staircase just in time to see Carlos jump off halfway down, he didn’t hesitate to throw his arms around her in what seemed to be excitement and relief.
“Carlos!” She returned the hug as he laughed, spinning her around all.
“It’s so good to see you!” They both exclaimed at the same time.
“y/n!”
“Evie!”
Jay cleared his throat, cutting the reunion short as the three looked his way-just now noticing that Harry was standing there. “What’s he doing here?” Carlos asked, getting defensive as he put his arms out to block y/n and Evie.
“Did he hurt you?” Evie asked the girl, putting her hands on the girl’s shoulders.
“No, Jay asked the same thing. What’s going on? Where’s Mal?”
“Mal went to talk to Uma.” Evie explained.
“What?”
“Because he kidnapped Ben.” Carlos explained, nodding to Harry with a glare.
“He wha-you kidnapped the king?” y/n asked turning towards Harry.
“Well when ye say it like that-”
“We came back to bring Mal back home and Uma’s crew took Ben, we came to get your help.”
“My help?”
“Yeah.” Carlos told her, “and to bring you with us. You’ve been alone here.”
“She’s not that alone, she’s got me.“ Harry said, making the three VK’s turn.
“What’d you say?” Jay asked, about to pounce y/n put her hand on his shoulder and he backed down.
“y/n what is he talking about?“ Evie questioned, “y/n are you together?“ She look horrified.
“Oh so you can put two and two together!“ Harry said, with mock enthusiasm. “Took ye long enough.“
“What!?“ Carlos asked just as mortified, “y/n he’s not good for you.“
“Listen to Carlos y/n.“ Jay told her, still holding his defensive stance.
“Well...“ Harry said, looking between the three VK’s with amusement “I really must be goin now. Bye y/n.“ He said waving before spinning around slowly and walking away.
“How did you even end up with him? He’s part of Uma’s crew!“ Evie whispered to her y/n with wide eyes as Jay and Carlos looked at her.
“It’s kind of a long story...“
“I-“ Evie began to say but Jay‘s look made her stop.
“Right now we just need to focus on getting Ben back.” Jay told the three, Carlos and Evie nodded. “y/n, can you help us?”
y/n looked between the three of them then back to where Harry had disappeared to, “sure.” She sighed, crossing her arms. “Why not?”

what the hell should i title these things? lol
@artistefish THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN TO WRITE ;ADJFLAJFIA;
two sketches to go along with it; i’m thinking this one is sort of like a rough draft to this one (the first two pics anyway lol)
originally i was gonna wait to post them until i had all of them written up, but i changed my mind because one i’m impatient, and two, i have no idea how long that will take lol so i’ll post them they’re completed.
a little note: i’m giving the characters their own personality quirks so they won’t be acting exactly like the characters in the movie. for example, i’m having Kagome be a bit more fiery tempered than Evy is and it shows in her mannerisms. i am, however, still following the dialogue.

Cairo Prison, 1926
“Come, come! Step over the threshold. Welcome to Cairo Prison, my humble home.”
The man that led them inside was stout, a bit on the short side, and with an unusually pale face despite no doubt spending most of his time under the hot desert sun. The dark markings on his face, a loud and deliberate boast to his status as the warden, had the side effect of making it look as if he had perpetual raccoon eyes. The white bandana wrapped around his head was dusty and sweat stained while the rest of his garb remained neat and relatively clean.
Clinging to her brother’s arm, Kagome Higurashi was severely beginning to doubt the sincerity of his words, and what he said next only confirmed he suspicions.
“You told me you got it on a dig down in Thebes,” Kagome hissed, warily looking around at all the prison workers as they followed the warden deeper into the prison.
“Yeah, well, I was mistaken,” Miroku returned, looking five times more uncomfortable than his sister, and if Kagome didn’t know any better she’d say he even looked a little nervous.
“You lied to me.”
“I lie to everybody. What makes you so special?”
“I am your sister,” she reminded him, as if that would make him feel even an ounce of guilt.
It didn’t. “Yes, well, that just makes you more gullible.”
“Miroku, you stole it from a drunk at the local casbah!” she heatedly reprimanded, sounding truly appalled to be related to such a deplorable character.
“Picked his pocket, actually,” Miroku corrected, sounding a bit harried and then suddenly he was swinging her around, urging her back toward the entrance. “So I don’t think it’s a very good—”
“Miroku, will you stop being so ridiculous,” Kagome huffed, pulling on his arm and forcibly turning them back around to cross the remaining distance to where the warden waited for them before briskly asking, “Now what exactly is this man in prison for?”
Leaning casually against the steel bars that made up the cell, the warden grunted and relayed, “This I did not know, but when I heard you were coming, I asked him that myself.”
Kagome blinked. “And what did he say?”
At this, Mukotsu the warden adapted a rather exasperated look as he pointed a finger in the air.
“He said he was just looking for a good time.” He turned his hand in a careless gesture and the door to the cell banged open.
With wide eyes Kagome watched as two armed men roughly dragged the prisoner into the cell, slamming him against the cold steel of the bars separating them, and Kagome gasped. One of the guards punched him in the back and with a grunt the prisoner sank to his knees, teeth bared in a grimace, and though unkempt, shaggy silver hair fell messily into his face from the rough treatment, it did nothing to retract from the absolute brilliant gold of his eyes as they bore into her own.
Slightly shaken, Kagome asked a little breathlessly, “This is—this is the man you stole it from?”
Looking like he’d rather be anywhere else but there, Miroku grinned a little awkwardly and revealed, “Yes, exactly, so why don’t we just go sniff out a spot of tiffin—”
“Who are you?” came a flippant male voice and the siblings both turned their attention toward the scruffy looking man behind the bars.
Appearing bored, Inuyasha slid his hands down the bars and flicked his golden gaze to Kagome, a sardonic twist to his mouth that might have been a smile.
“And who’s the broad?”
Aghast, Kagome echoed incredulously, “Broad?” Her brows snapped low over her eyes in indignation; however before she could give him a piece of her mind, her dear brother spoke up so she simply narrowed her eyes in affront.
“Well,” Miroku began, taking a step forward, “I—I’m just a local sort of missionary chap, spreading the good word and all that.” He offered what he hoped was a charming grin and reached back to tug Kagome forward. “But this is my sister, Kagome.”
“How do you do,” Kagome greeted softly, still a bit wary, but willing to overlook his initial rudeness. After all, he was behind bars; she supposed his temperament was justified.
The golden-eyed inmate frowned as he blatantly looked her up and down.
“Yeah, well,” he snorted, unimpressed. “Guess she’s not a total loss.”
While Miroku gaped at the man’s audacity, Kagome’s brows snapped low over her eyes and she stepped forward, glaring at the man as she said in aghast, “I beg your pardon?”
The prisoner looked completely unapologetic as he merely raised an eyebrow at her, but before anymore words – or insults – could be exchanged, the prison warden started shouting in an unfamiliar language before releasing a curse.
“I’ll be back in a moment,” he said distractedly and walked off, his face screwed into a displeased frown.
Seizing their chance, Miroku stepped in close to his sister and whispered, “Ask him about the box.”
The face she gave him suggested he should be the one doing the asking, but nevertheless she obliged and once more faced the man behind bars.
“Ah, we have found—” Kagome frowned again. “Hello. Excuse me.”
A white fear flicked before he slowly turned his head and golden eyes were trained on her once more, looking bored.
“We both found your…your puzzle box,” she continued, offering a small smile. “And we’ve come to ask you about it.”
Beside her Miroku silently nodded, attempting to look serious.
The man considered them both for a moment before saying bluntly, “No.”
The siblings both blinked.
“No,” Kagome echoed, smile gone.
“No,” Inuyasha repeated, shaking his head, and the look he leveled them with was deadpan. “You came to ask me about Hamunaptra.”
Alarmed, Miroku started shushing him and frantically looked around to see if they’d been overheard. The startled look on Kagome’s face gave way to dubious confusion, then cautious hope.
“How—how do you know that the box pertains to Hamunaptra?” she breathed, leaning in a bit closer for fear of eavesdroppers.
The silver-haired hanyou rolled his eyes. “Because that’s where I was when I found it,” he drawled, pegging them both with another look that loosely translated to duh. “I was there.”
Miroku narrowed his eyes in suspicion and knelt down to be eye-level with him, unwilling to let he or his sister be fooled by this prison rat. He had been drunk when he’d stolen the box, after all. There was no telling what sort of tales the man would weave to ensure his freedom.
“But how do we know that’s not a load of…of pig’s wallow?” he asked.
Amber eyes took him in and then narrowed as a frown knit his brown.
“You know,” Inuyasha rumbled, bringing up a clawed hand and pointing at him. “Do I know you?”
While Kagome inwardly snorted, Miroku chuckled nervously and said, “No, no, no, no. I’ve just got—you know, one of those faces—”
“Casbah!” the inmate growled, abruptly thrusting a fist through the bars and landing a solid punch to the English dandy’s face.
Miroku landed on the unforgiving grounded with a pained groan while the guards reprimanded the prisoner with a hard blow to his back and then again to his side. He grunted and hissed through his teeth but other than pegging them both with a harsh glare he didn’t retaliate.
Kagome barely spared her brother a glance as she carelessly stepped over his prone form and approached the man, thinking that they just might have found their ticket to the mythical city and the hope was obvious on her face.
“You were actually at Hamunaptra?” she asked, eyes wide as she stared into twin pools of melted honey, daring him to lie to her.
The grin that surfaced on his face was slow and devilish. “Yeah,” he rumbled. “I was there.”
She narrowed her eyes. “You swear?”
“Every damn day,” he said, smirking.
Kagome huffed. “No, I didn’t mean that—”
“I know what you meant,” he interrupted her, any amusement gone from his face now. “I was there. Seti’s place. City of the Dead.” He shook his hands in exaggeration, cocking a brow at her.
Trying to contain her excitement, Kagome bit her lip and then ventured, “C-could—could you tell me how to get there?” Dark eyes locked with burnished amber, pleading, hoping.
Inuyasha’s eyes widened and he blinked slowly at her as if he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard, clearly stunned.
There was more shouting in that unfamiliar language, sounding a bit closer, and looking over her shoulder, Kagome bit her lip and brought her hat down to give them a bit of privacy as she leaned closer. The intensity in those golden eyes of his had butterflies erupting in her stomach but she paid them no mind.
“I mean…the exact location,” she murmured, holding her breath.
Those honeyed eyes went hooded as he drawled, “You wanna know?”
“Well—well, yes,” Kagome answered, nodding as she bent closer.
“Do you really wanna know?” he asked in an octave lower, and when she once more gave the affirmative, Inuyasha crooked her finger in a bid for her to come closer. She did, putting her face inches away from the bars, her eyes locked on his.
There was a pregnant pause as is gaze bore into her own, and then without warning Inuyasha grasped her chin through the bars, tugged her forward, and slammed his mouth onto hers. It was rough and careless, his lips dry against her own, and yet Kagome still felt his kiss all the way to the tip of her toes. She whimpered, her body frozen, unable to pull away.
But then it ended as quickly as it had begun and he tore his mouth away from hers.
“Then get me the hell outta here,” he growled right before the prison guards fell on him, delivering harsh blows and Kagome stumbled back with a gasp, watching in stunned silence as he attempted to fight back but to no avail.
“Do it, wench,” Inuyasha growled at her and then he was being dragged away but he wasn’t making it easy, struggling, kicking out his feet and twisting his upper body to jostle their grip on him. He endured their blows with gnashed teeth and pissed off growls, but he kept his gaze zeroed in on her until the door was slammed shut, separating them once more.
Kagome could do nothing but stare after him, mouth parted, eyes wide, and face flushed. But then evidently her senses came back to her and she gasped, gesturing to the door.
“Where are they taking him?” she demanded a little breathlessly, heart still racing in her chest.
“To be hanged,” Mukotsu answered, appearing beside her and giving her a rather dry look. “Apparently he had a very good time.”

(Third film. After “I’ve gotta be me”. Uma looks around nervously)
Uma: I really hope nobody in there heard that
Ben: nah, don’t worry, I shielded and soundproofed is from them
Uma: surprisingly thoughtful, uhhhh, aheh, at this point I usually call you derogatorily by your last name
Ben: Le Roi. Well legally it’s Bach. But officially it’s Le Roi
Uma: Benjamin. Florian. Le Roi. Do you have any idea how fucking ridiculous that sounds?
Ben: and your last name would be
Uma: Facillier. She doesn’t have a last name
Ben: ah.
Uma: oh. Oh my.
Ben: what’s up? Oh. Yeah he does that.
Uma: s’clever.
Ben: that’s Doug for you
Uma: why am I interested by that
Ben: we’re eighteen. And therefore weak to his power.
(They’re watching Doug eat a bowl of peanuts with just his tongue. Ben snaps out of the stupor first)
Ben: moving swiftly onwards. Hit me
Uma: heh?
Ben: hit me, sock me one, deck me, gimme a knuckle sandwich. Any variations the phrase retains the same meaning. Punch me in the face.
Uma: why?
Ben: I’ve got a theory I wanna test out.
Uma: but aren’t you...
Ben: ...more powerful then you? Yes. So make sure to give it you’re all then. C’mon, cahmon. C’mon, cahmon. HitmehitmehitmehitmehitmeWOOOO
(Uma slogs him around the face do hard he flips horizontally in midair and lands flat on his back right next to where the gazebo was. A full three feet away)
Uma: Z’that what you wanted?
Ben (utterly jubilant): as a matter of fact. Yes
Uma: so now what? Gonna Tell the missus?
Ben: nope. I’m gonna offer you a job.
Uma: ahahah that’s funny. I thought you said you were offering me a job?
Ben: I figure. If you put that much effort punching me. You’ll put the same effort into protecting me.
Uma: n-no, no, you’re not supposed to do that. You’re supposed to hate me. I had you kidnapped. I almost had you thrown to sharks. I hypnotised you. I almost capsized your stinking yacht. And you wanna give me the job of protecting you? Who the fuck does that?!?! For all you know I could do that again?
Ben: now why would you do that when our interests align? Besides the fact that I forgive you. I want to get kids off the island. You want to get kids off the island. What better way to do that then by working together? And yeah. You could probably do that again. But I’m willing to take that chance.
Uma (as Ben’s saying all this, and devolving into tears): no, no, shut up I your forgiveness that’s not how it’s supposed to go you’re supposed to hate just like I hate her will you SHUT UP
Ben: ooh. (Through a Cheshire Cat grin) Finally
(She’s skewered Ben in the stomach with her sword. He smiles, bends the blade in half, pulls it out of him and throws it upwards. He leaps up ten foot in the air and gives it a flying kick, shattering it into a chunky powder. He lands next to Uma, conjures an umbrella, pulls her close and lifts the umbrella over them just as the powder lands on their heads. In response she blasts him away with magic. What follows is a very violent, very acrobatic duel that trashes the garden, obliterates what’s left of the gazebo and Harry, gives Uma a broken arm, Ben a broken nose and leaves both of them missing a foot each. As a form of foreshadowing, throughout the entire fight the instrumental for “superhero” plays)
Uma: god I hope you’re happy
Ben: I am actually. Cause now I know I’m right
Uma: what?
Ben: we are both almost perfectly evenly matched. My twelve months of sheer power with your eighteen years of practice and look what we managed to do?
Uma: give your future sister in law a coronary?
Ben: fight to a stalemate. Please? For six months. You’ll get paid to yell at people and beat them up if necessary
Uma:...no
(This is when “superhero” happens. After the song Ben starts fixing the garden)
Uma: ok then. Let’s say I did take the job? Wouldn’t one of your own be more trustworthy?
Ben: Jane’s still in school. Lonnie’s going off to college with Gil next year and she was only filling in for the summer anyway. And Doug’s my major-domo. So can’t choose them even if I wanted to.
Uma: and the other three?
Ben: conflict of interest. Carlos is legally my son and he’s also still in school. Mals my fiancé and Evie’s her sister. So again. No go.
Uma: couldn’t you...
Ben: duplicate myself and have him as my bodyguard? I could. But then I’d be breaking my promise to my mother
Uma: huh?
Ben: she was ok with me having magic so long as I legitimately practiced it, didn’t use it for schoolwork, didn’t use it for paperwork, didn’t use it for personal gain, and it didn’t give my subjects cause to worry. For a year at least
Uma: personal gains the best part of magic though
Ben: last time a king used the power he’d been afforded for personal gain...well. You grew up in the result so telling you wouldn’t achieve anything
Uma: oh. But...
Ben: I could use my magic to quicken the relocation? Like I said. Paperwork, personal gain, worrying the subjects. It’s definitely something that needs to happen. But I’m not taking shortcuts because it needs to be done properly and through the correct channels.
Uma: well that’s bullshit. Wait. What was all that fighting singy thing for then?
Ben: loophole
Uma (snickering): oh beasty boy you are perfect
Ben: why thank you kindly captain
Uma (flatly): Don’t push it
Ben: ok, ok
Uma: I’m serious though. The best part about magic is that you can do anything you want
(This is when “everything is not what it seems” happens. After the song they go back into the house to find it in chaos. Doug has Cj in a full Nelson with her head near the lit stove. Elsa’s downing an entire bottle of sambuca. Evie’s preventing Harriet and Hades from trying to patch up Harry. Mal has stuck Hadie to the sofa so he can’t help Harry. Jane’s drunkenly yelling about how much she loves her friends. Carlos is on Jay’s back, Celia and Dizzy are hanging off Jay’s arms and all four are chanting “kill her” at Doug. Lonnie’s eating a sloppy joe omelette and watching the events unfold intently. Gil is swirling round a smoothie. He notices them first)
Gil: oh you’re back. Finally. D’you wanna...?
Ben: yeah. Um...ooh. Yes that’s it. Uma. Take half of this sceptre and follow my lead
(He snaps his own, collapsible sceptre in half, hands one of those halves to Uma, jumps onto the kitchen island, helps Uma up and together they spin each half until they make a high pitched screeching sound that makes the chaos stop)
Ben: could all my friends please come over to my side
Uma: alright you useless fuckers, SIDDOWN!!!!
Ben: now, what happened
Uma: yeah ceej, what did you do?
Cj: why do you assume I did anything when it was clearly this heterosexual imbecile
Uma: cause I know you kid, since you were five in fact, so I know it was probably your doing
Ben: what happened Doug?
Doug: she insulted Evie and I in our own house, belittled our relationship and tried to stab me in the head with a rotisserie blade. And I f that wasn’t bad enough
Evie: she called me a traitor and slapped me around the face
Doug: and that is how the situation you walked in on transpired.
Cj: bald faced lies
Uma: eh I believe it. What about you beasty boy?
Ben: sounds airtight
Cj: I cannot and refuse to believe that
Uma: that I believe him over you? Well get used to kiddo. Ya just like Harry, no matter how much ya try to deny it
Ben: one question tbough. How are you a traitor
Mal: oooh yeah, you dunno do you? It’s ugly. Just like every Hook in existence
Evie: if everyone must know. When I was fourteen she flirted with me. And I turned her down
Cj: her mother braINWASHED HER
Everyone except for her siblings: shut up!
Evie: I turned her down. Because. A. I’m straight. And. B. Even if I wasn’t, I have higher standards then filthy pirates
Ben: were you rude?
Evie: pardon?
Ben: were you rude? Sometimes you can be a little bit rude.
Evie: if I remember correctly my exact words were “I’m very sorry but my gang sent me on a mission so I must go”
Ben: that was very polite
Evie: thank you. Plus. I even withheld the information from Grimhilde cause I know she wouldn’t take it well.
Cj: What has that got to do with anything?
Evie: Quinn Harts
(The room seems to grow colder as hades and the Vks, including the hooks, all look at each other uneasily)
Cj: oh. So it’s not because you’re
Evie: homophobic? God no. It was incompatible orientation pure and simple.
Cj (chuckling nervously now because the eggs on her face): but you see I thought
Doug: all straight people are jackasses? Quite a few are. But Evie and I aren’t. If we’re being wholly honest. Your sexuality is literally the only thing I respect about you. If you weren’t a pirate I might’ve even introduced you to my cousin Sadie. But you’re an asshole. So I won’t
Ben: good to hear that’s all cleared up
Evie: we are as well. Now. You three. Get the fuck out of my house. You stray bitches have been here too long. I’m sure there’s a nice posture ruining rock outside for you to sleep on
Harriet: we’re family
Hadie: actually. No. You and straw girl aren’t our family. Harry is. But not you.
Evie: nah. He can piss off too. I’m still waiting for a dna test. Until then. He can rot from the inside for all I care.
Mal: even when the test is confirmed he can still rot. (Uma scowls at her) What? It’ll be funny
Elsa: Jay. C’mere. Would it be completely out of the question for you to replicate your previous spell.
Jay: uhhhh....No. But I’d need a living conduit. Like a performer.
Hadie: I’ll do it. The party’s dying and that won’t do. What? I’m a disciple of Dionysus. Partying is literally my job description.
Elsa: as well as loose morals.
Hadie: harsh much?
Jay: she means you sleeping around with any dude that looks at you nicely. Ready
Hadie: fire away
Jay: To get rid of these ants in their pants/I command thee all to get up and dance. Again
(This is when “shut up and raise your glass” happens. After the song everyone but Hadie, Jayand Elsa looks very disgruntled)
Mal: seriously? Again? That’s like twice in one hour
Jay: had to be done. And it’s of my professional opinion that every time you guys get uppity I’m gonna help instigate an impromptu rave
Ben: well it worked. And it was funny. So two birds one stone. Now. I believe Doug and Evie asked you three to leave
Harriet: ya cannae do that man. Ya don’t have the authority
Doug: ok then. Get out of our house. NOW!
Harry: no I. I don’t think we will.
Celia: get out. Or I’ll throw you out.
Cj: you and what army?
Celia: this one
(Here is glow fuchsia and the wall is washed down in shadows)
Harriet: d’ya really think I’m scared of a little girl like you?
Ben: to hell with this. May I?
Doug: please
Ben: thank you. (He jumps off the kitchen island, lifts Harriet off the ground by her coat collar with one hand, morphs his face into that of a beast and screams in her face) GET OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
(There’s a moment of deathly quiet. Harriet whimpers. There’s a sound like a leaky faucet. And Ben morphs back to his human face which now bears a look of disgust)
Ben: did you just...?
Harriet: it’s been a really stressful day with no let up
Ben: uh-huh. (He drops Harriet on the floor and turns to his brother) Gil, buddy, uh
Gil (stony faced): burn the shoes then burn them again then throw them out.
Ben: on it
(He poofs out. Celia turn to Doug and Evie)
Celia: my turn?
Evie: yup. But don’t break the glass
Celia: perfect (she grabs Harriet by the back of her coat) out ya go rummy. (She throws her towards the window making her dissipate into shadow before contact). I’ve wanted to do this for years (she slaps Harry around the face, he too turns into shadow) buh bye you fatuous egotist (she pulls Cj’s hair and the final pirate disappears into smoke) that felt good
Uma: where did you put them?
Celia: eh don’t worry. I put them in the nautilus. Now. Shall we crack on with the party?
Everyone but Uma: HEAR HEAR
(Mal inches over to Jane and Lonnie)
Mal: what do you say we get some air for a while
(They nod and two minutes later they’re all on the bench laughing their asses off about certain unsavoury topics)
Lonnie (crying due to laughter but still trying to speak): all I’m saying is going to my grans seventieth in my ROAR uniform is nothing compared to you and Ben and his you know what
Mal (in the same state as Lonnie): its still pretty damn funny though
Jane: my mother should be here
(The other two stop laughing)
Mal: I know hon
Jane: but if she were here she’d complain. “Leave room for Jesus”. “Time for the lobster quadrille”. “I know you can now but you shouldn’t drink when you have guests”. The only ones I wanted to invite are here. Plus the four stooges. And she didn’t even show up to the party she made me have!
Lonnie: oooh please can I call the squid a stooge M? Pretty please with merlot on top?
Mal: you shouldn’t really be calling her a squid or a stooge. But if you do. Ok not responsible for what happens to ya.
Lonnie: fine.
Mal: now Janey. What say you we try and get all these annoyances out huh?
Jane: errrr...I’m game if you are.
Mal: perfect. (She gets up, goes to the midpoint between the bench and the gazebo and magically constructs a model version of Verna) now. What do you wanna say to her?
Jane: I ha...I can’t. I can’t. I’m sorry.
Mal: it’s ok bud.
Lonnie: could uh could music help? Possibly?
Jane: it might. I dunno.
Mal: shall we try it?
Jane: yes. And uh. You can vent too, I mean, if you want.
Lonnie and Mal: well alright then
(Mal clicks her fingers, a copy of Maleficent and Fa Li appear and music starts up. This is when “you don’t own me happens”. After the song they look and feel better. That’s when they hear Evie scream a profanity and a slap rings out from the kitchen)
Mal (heaving a heavy sigh): and once again. Chaos reigns supreme.
Lonnie: I’ll stay with Jane. You go.
Mal: I’ll send Hadie out to keep you company
(She goes back inside just in time for Evie to stalk past her. Hades is on the floor with a slightly shocked expression, a handprint on his face and he’s apologising profusely to Doug)
Mal: you got it down here? (Doug nods). Good. I’ll go kick her head into gear.
(She heads upstairs. Doug turns to back to Hades)
Hades: I’m so sorry my boy, I was just trying to help, if I caused——
Doug: yeah, no, my opinion of you doesn’t matter. Only Evie’s does. I want to ask you a question.
Ben: uh. Doug. Can I eat what’s left in the freezer? Only I can smell somethings about to go out of date
Doug: yeah sure. There only meat products in it. Go crazy. But please please mute the chewing.
Ben (brightly): thank you!
Hades: what is it you want to know
Doug: Maleficent
(Up in the guest room. Evie enters in a huff and slams the door to show Mal hiding behind it)
Mal (sardonically imitating a British accent): hello Harold (Evie screams in surprise) we need to talk
Evie (fed up): what? What now? What could we possibly have to talk about?
Mal: what I thought you got over earlier toady
Evie (cackles hollowly): THAT? That! Was a fluke. And then he tried to “help” me by getting in my way
Mal: has it maybe occurred to you that he actually WAS trying to help?
Evie: if he really wanted to help then he wouldn’t have abandoned me with Grimhilde sixteen years ago
Mal: oh Christ. You know why he did that
Evie: I know why he did it but it still hurt though. He could’ve taken me with him. He could’ve taken us with him
Mal: they wouldve hunted us down and made him watch as they killed us. Or worse
Evie: that doesn’t make me feel any better
Mal (in what she hopes is a comforting voice): look on the bright side. You got me as a sister. That’s gotta count for something, right?
Evie: no, not really.
Mal: urrrrgh. Would me making a fool of myself help you feel less of a loser?
Evie:...mayhaps
Mal: fine. Remember back before graduation we got paired up for the senior class showcase because verna wouldn’t let you and Doug dirty dance?
Evie: yeah
Mal: Bea Arthur or Bette Midler?
Evie (chuckling slightly): surprise me
(Mal clicks her fingers, they’re transported to a music hall stage with an invisible audience and the song starts up. This is when “sisters” happens. After the song Evie looks briefly empowered. Then deflates and flops onto the bed face first. Mal chuckles at this)
Mal: uh. Sis. Your remember that apart from being the guest room, this is Lonnie and Gil’s room as well, right?
Evie (in a muffled tone of voice): what’s your point?
Mal: well besides both being very sweet they’re also a pair of incorrigible gym rats who always forget to clean up the bed before they leave for home. So it wouldn’t be entirely out of the realm of possibility that there’s still a certain amount of used up gym wear under the covers you’re currently laying on...
(Evie’s eyes snap open cartoonishly, she screams, jumps up from the bed, makes claw hands at Mal in an attempt to throttle her, flails at the window, then looks down at her clothes and screams again. Throughout all this Mal is calmly amused, silently watching her sister crisis. When she’s had enough she grabs Evie by the arm and hurls her into the en-suite. Evie re-emerges two seconds later in new clothes and a cloudy expression)
Mal: lemme guess. Doug make that sweater?.
Evie: of course. I can sew. Doug can knit.
Mal: mmkay. Now are you going to get over yourself and let go of this ridiculous grudge you have against our father?
Evie: you just don’t get it do you?
Mal: probably not so enlighten me
Evie: this isn’t something I’m gonna get over in a day. This isn’t mamma Mia. I found out who my father was in the middle of a crappy day with even more crappy events piled on it. The man I love was put in a coma. My daughter was missing for most of the day. Ive had to fight for my life at least twice. I’ve had no time to process any of this. And you’re expecting me to get over this massive family reveal instantaneously? No. Something like this will take a lot longer then a day to get over. He abandoned me. I understand why he did it. But it still hurts. And as much as you say that you’re not like me. You have to understand that I’m not like you either. I’m angry. I’m angry he could’ve been there for me and wasn’t. And that anger’s not gonna go away any time soon. Either accept that or get out of my face
Mal: ahhhh. Ok. Now I understand. Katara
Evie: what?
Mal: you’re acting like katara. She was mad that her dad went off to war because she was a kid who needed him but felt like she couldn’t be because the reason for him leaving was noble. Dad let us go to save our lives. So you feel pissed that he left us. But you also feel like you can’t be cause of the REASON he left. It’s ahh, it’s a dilemma for sure
Evie: that’s not a dilemma. A dilemma is deciding between chicken and fish at your wedding. This is an impasse
Mal: mhmm, mhmm, uh huh. You know what would help.
Evie: what?
Mal: talking to him. And I mean not just calling him a rat bastard abandoner. Actually talk to him.
Evie: it’s not that easy M. Not when you were raised by Grimhilde. Not when every time you try to talk something out your met with scorn.
Mal: ohhhh. So that’s where “when in doubt, don’t” came from.
Evie: yup.
Mal: you were the good child. The golden daughter. You never misbehaved and you never spoke up for yourself. And now it come back to use your posterior as an entree.
Evie: yup. So you understand why it’s difficult for me. I can’t. I just can’t. Not after how my upbringing went.
(This is when “here I am” happens. After the song Evie confronts Hades in the kitchen just as he’s finishing his talk with Doug)
Hade:...I’m sorry my boy that’s all I know. Hello dear
Evie: I’m mad at you. I’m always gonna be mad at you. But. I don’t hate you. If I’m being honest, to protect Dizzy, I would’ve done the same. But it’s going to take time for me to...accept you.
Hades: I understand
Hadie: per...perhaps it would help if she saw it. The uh...incident in question, pops, maybe she’d understand a bit more if she saw what happened?
Evie: what, what incident
Mal (who’s been listening in): when he made the decision to stop contacting us.
Hades: I’m going to need a wand. And...A hat.
(Mal takes the sceptre, shrinks it down so it resembles a wand, ignores Uma’s incensed expression and hands it to her father while Hadie hands him his top hat. Hades sticks the wand handle in his right ear up to the emitter, to the teenagers collective disgust, roots around for a minute, then pulls out what looks like ash grey smoke tinged with midnight blue and pours it all into the top hat)
Hades: there you go. Just put the hat on the floor and spin
Doug (taking the hat): thanks. I think.
Mal: that looks worse then the hair ball Dude coughed up at his birthday party last month
Doug: how can...
Mal: don’t ask
Doug: ready
Evie: I guess
(In devies room. They’re sitting in the footlocker at the bottom of they’re bed)
Doug: now remember. No ones pressuring you into anything. You can stop any time
Evie: you’re very sweet. But I need to do this.
Doug: well ok then
(He sets the hat on the floor and spins. It goes faster and faster until it’s a blur. Light fills the room and replaces it with an alleyway on the island. They see Hades in his John Barrowman guise arguing with Grimhilde. He obviously loses since he gets a horrified expression on his face and leaves as Grimhilde smirks. There’s no sign of Evie. In Hades’s lair)
Anastasia: it couldn’t have been that bad
Hades (now Sebastian Stan): they both said the same thing. Iris and Hestia will be imperilled if I remain in contact. I have no choice. Please Antoine. For me
Facilier (wearily): only if you’re sure
Hades: yes. It doesn’t matter about me. Do it. Now.
(In the foyer)
Doug: are you ok?
Evie: no. But I want to keep watching
Doug: as you wish
(Anastasia pours Hades a drink and Facillier gets started. This is when “losing your memory” happens)

Love Finds A Way
(sequel to “See You Again) (A Harry Hook x reader love story)
Part 5
The six waited for nightfall to sneak out of the dorms.  They snuck down to the limo shed and found the one that brought the vks from the Isle six months ago.  Their plan was simple; go there, get Mal, and come back in one piece.  Hadley prayed it would work but knowing the isle, it will throw them off somewhere.
Hadley and Evie quickly pieced together “Isle-esque” clothing choices for Ben and Ruby.(I know the link is for Mal so just pretend).  Hadley had meticulously pinned and braided Ruby's hair up so it wouldn't cause any traveling issues on the isle if they had to make a quick get away.  Jay, Carlos, Evie and Hadley just had to raid their own closets to find outfits from the isle.
They ran down the front steps of the castle.
“ Jay, keys, remote.” Ben said as he tossed Jay the items he was carrying.
“ Wait! Something wrong” Evie ran up to Ben.
The rest stared at Evie waiting for her to do something.
Evei reached up and pulled the beanie down farther over Ben's head.
“There. That's better.” Evie nodded.
“Shotgun!” A small voice yelled from the steps.
Everyone's, except for Carlos, jaw dropped as they realized the voice came from Carlos's dog, Dude.
“No Dude, stay! The isle is way too dangerous.” Carlos reprimanded.
Dude groaned and sat down on the steps.
“ Did he just..” Jay started.
“ Talk? Yeah. I'll tell you later.” Carlos shook his head and the rest shrugged and got in the limo.
Jay and Carlos took the front seats and Evie, Hadley, Ben and Ruby took the back.
“Okay. Once we get there we park under the pier in the old garage. Got it?” Hadley stated
“ Got it.”
It took 45 minutes to reach the old broken bridge that would lead them to the isle.  They crossed the golden magic bridge that appeared after Jay pressed the button.  Ruby sat by the window staring in awe of the golden swirls encircling the bridge as they passed.
When they parked in the old garage they draped the limo in sheets to disguise it.
Being back on the isle sent a chill down Hadley's spine.  If her father were to find our she was there, let's just say, all hell would break loose.
“It's really weird being back here” Evie said as Jay walked up to  the two of them.
He looked around “we'll get in and get out” he nodded.
The other two nodded as well.
Hadley hadn't noticed Ruby wasn't by her side until she saw her standing next to Ben at the large metal pipe that lead to the docks.
The vks froze as Being yelled “hey what's in here?” Into the pipe.  The sound echoed, making it louder than necessary.  They rushed over and pulled Ben and Ruby away.
“ You don't want to know.” Hadley said shaking her head.
“ Hey guys.” Carlos caught their attention. “ Keep it chill, all right?  The last thing we need is for our parents to find out were here” the other three nodded and they walked onward, Hadley tucked her hook under her shirt as she followed.
They walked through the Isle for a short while, going through alleyways and dark streets.  Multiple times they had to pull Ruby and Ben away from scammers and thieves looking for loot.  Jay and Carlos took been up front leading the girls through the maze of alleys.
As the rounded a corner two young children jumped out at Evie.  One began to fight with her as another came up behind her and grabbed her wallet out of her pocket.
Evie was able to grab both of their arms yelling at them to give it back.
She paused for a moment when she looked at the little kids faces; dirty and gaunt like they hadn't eaten in w eeks, scratches and bruises littered their small cheeks.  They looked at her with wide eyes and Evie's heart broke at the site.
“ Go on take it.” Evie nodded releasing their arms.
The kids looked at her and giggled running off with the wallet.
Evie stood up stairs and fixed her jacket before turning to catch up with the others.
Jay, Hadley and Carlos had stopped when they heard Evie start yelling, they had yet to realize Ben and Ruby did not.  Evie sighed as she brushed past the others going after the two royals.
They caught up to them as they were being stared down by a man in pirate gear.
Jay rushed to their aid and made the guy back up into his corner.
Hadley and Evie pulled the two away from him, scolding them as they did.
“This isn't a parade it's the isle.” Evie said
“Keep your hands in your pocket unless your stealing.” Jay continued
“ You either slouch or strut.” Carlos added
“And never ever smile.” Evie finished
“Ok than-” Ben started but Hadley
“No thank yous. And drop the please too.  Just… chill”
(Hadley)
Let me tell you something you can really trust Everybody's got a wicked side I know you think that you could never be like us Watch and learn so you can get it right
(all minus Ben and Ruby) You need to drag your feet You need to nod your head You need to lean back Slip through the cracks You need to not care
(Carlos) Uh, you need to not stare (Evie and Hadley)
You need a whole lot of help (You need to not be yourself)
(Evie) You wanna be cool? Let me show you how Need to break the rules I can show you how And once you catch this feeling Yeah, once you catch this feeling
(all)
You'll be chillin', chillin', oh Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (hey) Chillin' like a, chillin' like a (hey), villain
(Evie) You draw attention when you act like that Let us teach you how to disappear You look like you would lose a fight to an alley cat( Hadley turned into an alley cat and lunged at the two) You gotta be wrong to get it right 'round here
(all) You need to watch your back You need to creep around You need to slide real smooth Don't make a sound And if you want it, take it And if you can't take it, break it If you care about your health
(Evie) Seriously, you need to not be yourself
(Hadley) You wanna be cool? Let me show you how Need to break the rules I can show you how And once you catch this feeling Yeah, once you catch this feeling
(all)
You'll be chillin', chillin', oh Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a

(All) Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain (chillin') Chillin' like a villain
Ben and Ruby continued to strut up the alley way as the other stood back and watched.
Things went downhill when Ben bumped into someone.  The others panicked and rushed to their sides.  Hadley stood behind a frozen ruby, as she stared at Gil, Harry's pirate best friend.
“Hey,man! Hey I know you.” Gil smiled at Ben.
“Uh, no. Don't know you either, man.” Ben said nonchalantly.
“ Uh, yeah you do. Come on, man. Really? Dude I'll give you a hint. My dad is quick, slick, and his neck… is incredibly thick.” He pointed to his own neck.  When no one answered Gill looked behind them and spotted a poster for Cotillion, graffitied with the pirate motto 'we ride with the tide’, pinned to the wall.
It suddenly clicked for Gil when he pointed at Ben, then to the poster and back at Ben.
His jaw dropped when he figured it out.
“Oh! You're King Ben!” The others rushed to get Ben out of there as quickly as possible but Hadley had trouble moving Ruby from her spot where she stood, still frozen and staring at Gil.
“Evie, Jay carlos. Hey guys!” Gil said as they left.
He turned to the two that still stood in front of him and froze as well when her looked at Ruby. Hadley freaked out when she couldn't move her.
“ H-hi.” Gil stammered “I'm Gil”
“R- Ruby” Gil lifted his hand for her to shake and Hadley's breath hitched when they did.  She let out a small squeak and tried to push Ruby away again.
“ Hadley?” Gil questioned to the blue haired girl next to ruby
Hadley slowly looked towards Gil and grimaced.
“ Hi Gil.” She said quietly.
“Oh Harry is going to be so happy that you're here!” Gil shrieked jumping up and down.  Hadley went wide eyed and tried to  push Ruby away again, this time it working and Hadley drug Ruby from the alley.
When they caught up to the others, they were waiting around the bottom of the staircase that led up to their hideout, with Ben missing.
Evie looked around when she heard Hadley and Ruby approach.
“Where were you two?” Evie whispered.
“Long story” Hadley glanced at Ruby who still has a far off look in her eyes.
Evie nodded.
“ Did Ben go up?”
“Yeah.”
Just as Evie responded, Ben can down the metal steps.  His expression screamed sadness and he hit the last step alone.
“ So? Where's Mal?” Hadley asked.
“ She's not coming back” he sighed.
“ What?” Evie gasped as Ben walked past her.
“ Let me talk to her.” Evie said as she walked over to the large horn shaped phone strapped to a beam.
“M? Mal it's Evie. Let me just talk to you for a second.”
It was a few moments before a shrieking voice belonging to Mal yelled at them to go away.
“ Let's give her a couple hours to cool off.” Jay suggested.
Evie nodded.
“Hey guys. Where's Ben and Ruby?” The others looked around frantically when Carlos said that calling for Ben in the process.
Their shoulders slumped when a figure walked towards them from the dark alley.
“ Ben don't scare us like that” Hadley breathed up with a hand over her heart.
“ Don't scare you? But that's my specialty.” A thick Scottish accent rang through the alleyway.
Haldey gasped as she recognized the voice immediately, having thought about if for the last six months.
“Harry.” Evie sighed shaking her head.
“ What have you done with Ben and Ruby?” Jay stepped in front of Hadley.
“Oh, uh, we nicked them, mmm-hmm. Yeah and if you want to see them again have Mal and Hadley come to the chip shop tonight... alone.  Uma wants.. a little visit.  And I need to have a chat with the little goddess over there” Harry sneered pointing this hook in Hadley's direction. Jay stepped even colder to Hadley, who stared wide eyed at the silver hook that was nearly in her face, nearly blocking her from Harry's view.
“ Awww, jay,” Harry pouted “ it seems like you lost your touch” He laughed.
Jay lunged at him but Hadley grabbed his arm stopping him from getting any closer, which made Harry laugh.
Harry turned around, barked at Carlos, and walked back down the alley the way he came, whistling a tune as he went.
The others rushed up the stairs to get Mal as Hadley stood there, in the alleyway watching Harry disappear.
“I'm sorry Harry.” Hadley whispered sadly as she went to climb the steps.
So much for their plan going smoothly.

Ways to be Wicked
Part 8
First  -  Previous  -  Next
"If you guys never would have brought him here, this never would have happened," Mal said, looking down from her raised position at her friends. "Mal, he wanted to apologize... And we did too." Evie said quietly. "I told you I was going to cheer her up! That we would be back!" Mal exclaimed, throwing her arm out. "Mal, we didn't know when that would even be. And you two deserved an apology!" Evie protested. Mal pinched the bridge of her nose and calmed herself down. "...So who has Ben?" You asked, strangely calm. "...Uma... She said for the two of you to go to the peer to meet with her... Alone..." Carlos replied, sitting on the couch and looking quite displeased. "So what are we going to do?" Jay asked, making Mal freeze and look at him. "Uh, no. Not we." She made a movement referring to everyone in the room. "We-" She pointed to herself and you, "Are going to go see Uma. Alone. And she's a punk, and guess what? Now we have to go get him." Mal exclaimed, stepped down the stairs, and looking at your friends. "Woah, you're still going to have to go through Harry Hook and their crew." Carlos protested. "Harry won't go up against us unless directly ordered to by Uma." You cut him off swiftly, throwing his concern out the window. "And if she wants to meet, she isn't going to do anything. Besides..." Your eyes darkened and made those who were human hold their breath. "She won't have the chance to hurt us." "...Alright..." Carlos gave in after a few moments. "Just... Good luck." Evie wished. Jay didn't seem like he wanted to give him, but eventually, he nodded. "We'll be here when you get back." He said. "Alright... Let's go Mal." You said, glancing at her and walking out, knowing she was just behind you.
Walking through the alleyways and streets of the Isle of the Lost with your sister at your side, people immediately moved to get out of your way. Adults were either running away or stepping to the side and bowing to you both, hiding their children behind them. Teenagers watched on warily, trying their best not to attract the attention of either one of you. However, children looked at you and Mal in awe and excitement, whispering excitedly to their parents how there were faeries. Stepping foot on the docks, you wrinkled your nose slightly in disgust, "It always smells like rotting fish here..." You murmured in irritation. Mal chuckled a little at your displeasure before you two stood in front of the doors to Ursula's restaurant. Stepping through and making the doors slam on the walls you did, you and Mal smiled with varying degrees of malice. "We're back~." You two chorused in a sarcastic tone. Uma stopped during her waitressing and glared at you two, "Losers, party of two. Right this way, please." Uma said, motioning to the table next to her. You and Mal stepped forward, grabbing some stools and sitting down at the table. Mal glanced around, "...Place still stinks." She commented. "Oh, I'm sorry. We're down a butler today." Uma snarked at her before giving Mal a distasteful look, "Princess." You glared at Uma darkly, "Where is he?" You asked, not in the mood for playful insults. Swiping off her apron, Uma dropped it on the table and continued calmly, "You know I've dreamed of this?" Uma asked, laughing a little, "You wanting something from me and me watching you two squirm like worms on a hook." Uma smirked.
"I'm so flattered you dream of me." Mal was in a much better mood than you were for once as she played along. "I haven't' given you thought since I left." Uma slammed her hands down on the table and took in a breath to steady herself, not wanting to lose control from such a small comment, "Obviously. You have your perfect little life, don't you?" Uma glared at Mal and turned back to her restraint to ask the same. Somehow, that comment made you want to scream. Perfect little life? Things have been horrible for you two since you got back to Auradon. "And we're 20 years into a garbage strike," Uma growled. "Listen, if you have some sort of score to settle with me, game on. But don't bring--..." Mal stopped her sentence immediately, feeling pressure on her leg. Glancing down, she saw it was your hand. Mal glanced towards your face and her eyes widened slightly. You were furious. She had never seen you so mad before. The room went silent as Mal's sudden stop didn't go unnoticed and everyone turned their attention to you before going silent. You were still as you stared at the table, feeling the uncomfortable atmosphere weigh down on everyone in the room. Slowly, you drew your eyes up to look at the short girl across the table and a chill crossed the room. "You took Ben... To settle a score you have with us?" Your tone was abnormally light and Uma glanced back at her crew, unsure of what to do.
Before you and Mal had left the Isle to head off to Auradon, these things had never bothered you two before. It was just an unspoken rule that Uma and her crew could do whatever they want during their rivalry with the twins and their friends as long as they didn't cross the line. This shouldn't have crossed it. Uma had tested the line time and time again to figure out where it was, who could this cross it? All she did was steal the king away. Why did it matter so much? As if seeing the uncertainty in her eyes, your voice darkened and you slowly stood up from your seat, "You took my partner away from me over a score?" You asked, walking around the table and looking at her. Uma felt like she was being stalked by a predator while you wondered whether or not you should kill her for touching your partner. "What do you want Uma? Why did you call us here? I hope there is a good reason... Otherwise, you might find out what it's like to fly." Distantly, your actions reminded you of your mother, but you couldn't be bothered to care that much right now. Uma now understood though. She didn't cross it. She didn't cross the line, she had pushed it as far as she could and was now standing on it. She had to be careful. There was a reason everyone on the Isle was scared of Maleficent and now it was threatening to come out of you. So, taking a steadying breath, Uma forced herself to remain calm as she spoke.
"Arm wrestling. If you win, you get Ben back and we will leave him alone." Uma said, hoping that the childish request would calm you down. She could tell it worked a little as your wings weren't as rigid as before. "Who do you want to play?" You asked, watching her carefully. "Mal. I don't trust you wouldn't break my hand right now." Uma said, glancing at you and showing a little nervousness. You and Mal shared a look and agreed. Settling down with an internal relieved sigh, Uma and Mal started their match while you watched on and ignored their chatter. Mal had more strength than the average human, or even the average Dark Fae considering you two were part of the royal bloodline. That and because of your father's blood as well, you two got an even higher boost. However, Uma was the daughter of the sea witch Ursula, who is known for being incredibly strong as well, being a sea monster from ancient times. That, and no one knew who her father was. Humming in thought to yourself, you watched as Mal almost won before Uma whispered something to her and slammed her hand down on the table. Mal lost. Laughing and cheering from the room and Uma's crew insured before Uma turned to you two, "Now. If you want Beasty Boy back, bring me Fairy Godmother's wand to my ship tomorrow at noon. Oh, and if you blab, you can kiss your baby goodbye." Uma smirked at you, feeling confident after defeating Mal before walking away.
"There's no way we can give Uma the wand! We can't just let her destroy Auradon!" Evie was pacing back and forth in the hideout after you and Mal came back to explain. You were silently fuming in your seat as the others continued talking. "If we don't give Uma the wand then Ben is toast guys." Carlos sighed. "Right, so we're going to give Uma of all people the wand?" Evie scoffed. "Do we have another choice?" Jay asked. "Wait! You guys!" Mal cried out, getting an idea. Everyone looked to her, "Your 3D printer!" "A phony wand?" Jay asked. "In my sleep!" Carlos grinned. "Uma will know once it doesn't do magic." Evie pointed out. "We'll get out before then. Grab and go." You spoke up. "We could use a diversion," Carlos suggested. "Smoke bombs!" Jay grinned. "Perfect." Mal agreed. You stood up, "Evie, Mal, and I will go make the smoke bombs. Carlos, Jay, you two will be making the wand. Don't let anyone find out about this, we don't want anything to happen to Ben and we certainly don't want a war." You advised. The boys nodded sharply and Carlos caught the magic barrier remote from Mal as she tossed it at him while Jay grabbed the keys. On the way to Lady Tremaine's, Evie looked over yours and Mal's hair. "Sick hair, by the way, Evil Stepmother seriously stepped up her game." Evie complimented. "You wanna know something? Dizzy did this." Mal smiled. "Little Dizzy? Shut up." Evie gasped in delight. You managed a small smile when Evie commented excitedly on your hair as well, but you were still so worried about Ben.

My thoughts on D3
It took me so long to finally write this, I don’t know why. But let’s get started.
First, all I wanna say is that I liked the movie, I thought it was good but as always, there are a lot of things that should/shouldn’t have happened and that we need to talk about.
I wanna start saying that VK Day wasn’t really important in my opinion. Dizzy had received an invitation at the end of D2 so we knew she would be coming, but why, WHY, the whole application thing happened? VK Day happened ONCE, and it doesn’t really have a reason to happen. They could’ve kept sending invitations to the VKs they wanted.
The whole VK Day thing is so, so wrong and it didn’t make sense in the movie.
Getting out of and abusive place with abusive people shouldn’t be turned into a contest;
Do you think all of the kids would be able to fill out an application? That all of the parents would let their kids participate?;
What about people who don’t know how to write/read and what about babies and little kids?;
When the Cour Four announce which kids were chosen, it was so weird to see the VKs cheering and clapping, never looking disappointed, sad or angry. I know I would feel terrible if I hadn’t been chosen. And how was everyone suddenly in love with the Core Four when in the last movie they said they weren’t really welcome on the isle?
Moving on, there’s Ben proposing to Mal. All I can’t think of is that maybe it’s too soon? I mean, D2 was about Mal not feeling like herself, like she didn’t belong to Auradon and not being able to handle being Lady of the Court but in D3 she’s totally okay with being Queen? But alright, let’s do this for the sake of the plot.
We see the new VKs and omg they are adorable, the twins are the custest and Dizzy and Celia’s friendship, I’m here for it.
Uma. My savior, my soulmate, the love of my life. She was gorgeous and Harry was so in love with her, no one can tell me otherwise. They finally showed her true intentions (we knew them already but people needed to finally see SHE ISN’T A VILLAIN). All she wants is for all the kids to be free at once and not having to wait god knows how long for that to happen.
Now talking about Mal and Uma’s friendship...
Yeah okay, sure, the scenes were good, we saw more of Uma and all that, but... Do you really think it would be that easy? The girl bullied you for 7 years and betrays you 3 times. But after one day together all is forgiven?
That’s what Disney needs to understand: you can be mad at people if they deserve it, you don’t need to forgive them if they don’t deserve it. Your feelings are valid and forgiveness takes time. They showed this with Maya and her dad in Girl Meet World, so why not in Descendants? Some kinds of forgiveness don’t come so easily.
To forgive someone, that person has to say they’re sorry. Mal never says she’s sorry for what she’s done to Uma. Mal and Ben don’t say they’re sorry for what they did to Audrey. The only person who hears Mal say “I’m sorry” is Evie.
When Mal decides to close the barrier forever they don’t have a meeting about it. What Ben says suddenly doesn’t matter and there is no council and Evie (the king’s counselor) isn’t there to say what she thinks. Mal, Belle, Beast and Fairy Godmother agree with it and that’s it.
I saw a post here that made me realise that if they closed the barrier forever, they would basically kill everyone there since there wouldn’t be food. What. The, Fuck. Mal.
What else does she have to do for people finally realise she is selfish. It doesn’t matter if Mal’s your favorite character, she has flaws and she is so, so selfish. If you think that she was the selfless hero for deciding to bring the barrier down at the end, please, that was that was the bare minimum.
If you wanna talk about a selfless hero, how about Uma? The girl who had been free since D2 and was still trying to find a way to free the VKs, the girl who helped the Cour Four save Auradon because that place was their only hope. And the girl who was willing to go back to an abusive place, knowing she would never get out, so she could protect it, giving up her freedom.
But, yeah, I guess Mal’s the hero.
Now let’s talk about Hades. Ah, Hades. Mal’s daddy.
I knew, you knew, everyone knew. But I had a little hope it wouldn’t be true. I’m gonne be honest, yeah, the scenes were cute, I’m sure the song is gonna get stuck in my head at some point but I don’t think I’ll ever completely like the idea.
Because I can’t get over the fact that this was lazy writing. Now, I’m far from the best writer in the world but the books told us Mal’s dad was a human. Since D1 there was no evidence that Mal was related to Hades. No blue hair, no blue flames, nothing, zero.
Suddenly, she knows he is her father and Evie knows too. What? I thought that the least they could do was Mal finding out that her father is Hades but the fact that she already knew makes no sense. She knew and never tried to see if she had any power like his? If they had given us any kind of hint it would be better. Like, during her fight with Uma at the Cotillion, when she turns into a dragon, what if the fire was blue? There would theories about it.
But there was nothing, which means they had no plans of Hades being Mal’s father and just decided that would be good when she needed the ember. Come on Disney, there wasn’t any other way for them to get the ember? The VKs couldn’t just steal it? After the barrier is down he helps Audrey and yay, party.
He didn’t have to be her father for the story to work. But they want Mal to be powerful, they want her to be the best character, so why not make her the child of a god?
Here are some other things I think about the movie:
Audrey was amazing. If you think she didn’t have the right to be upset, you’ve watched it wrong. Go back to D1 and do it again;
Her grandmother is the worst, she says she’s sorry to Mal but doesn’t say it to her own granddaughter after she hurted her feelings and put so much pressure on her;
Ben’s crown still looks like plastic. Why didn’t they change that? And the CGI of the dragon, omg. It’s never perfect but it was worse than D1 and D2;
We should’ve seen more of Jay, Carlos and Evie.
Gil is my baby, I love and will protect him. He’s precious.
The huma moments, thank you Disney.
But why imply that Audrey and Harry are something else at the very end? People just need one second to forget about all the hugs and cute moments Harry and Uma had;
Queen Of Mean if the best song and no one can change my mind;
Also, Celia is Uma’s Dizzy and no one can change my mind;
I missed Lonnie and they could’ve done something with her like they did with Audrey calling Chad in D2;
Dr. Facilier and Celia were adorable.
The tribute to Cameron was beautiful and it made me cry. I miss him.  (https://thecameronboycefoundation.networkforgood.com/)
I thinks that’s it for now. Like I said, I liked the movie but we need to talk about these things. If you’ve read this, I hope you liked it.
