for the past few months i've been building up how a postcanon "human" shapeshifter design might look so here they are finally! i just think they deserve a proper arc

design elements partly inspired by boris the animal, specifically the way eyebrows work

theseus (in universe) takes a mix of features from both ford (mostly) and fiddleford (and to an extent "baron num nums") while also leaning into making an actual identity for themself

Hey everyone! This is my lovely friend Cyrus Nemati, who many of you may know as Theseus, Dionysus and Ares from the first Hades game.

He has spent the last couple years developing his very first indie game, Vampire Therapist, which plays with the many vampire character archetypes from across media.

When working at the jewelry store I referenced the ship of Theseus all the time without actually being able to reference the ship of Theseus.

People would get emotional about needing to swap out gems or work on the metal. I’d say, “If you had a violin and had to change the strings it’s still the same violin, right? If you have to put new tires on your car it’s still your car. Your ring will still be yours even if we change a small component of it.”

This generally worked extremely well in overcoming the emotional component because they couldn’t deny that it would in fact still be their ring.

something to be said abt the dimension added by the allusions to greek myth in severance. us all thinking that mark and gemma are orpheus and eurydice and that by reintegrating mark has looked back and therefore ensured that eurydice cannot return--that cold harbour will never be completed. and that we will have to brace ourselves for another tragedy in the end. but then we get gemma's pov and she's not eurydice, she's odysseus fighting to return to mark's penelope, and the cold harbour file is not the passage that must be crossed without turning but the shroud that must remain unwoven to buy odysseus time to come home. and, suddenly, terribly, there is hope again.
