People saying that Fitz still has a chance with Sophie (though she’s with Keefe) hurts me. And no it’s not because I’m a sokeefe shipper. They broke up because of the fact Sophie is unmatchable. Fitz has explained in not only Flashback AND Legacy that he doesn’t feel like he can be a bad match. He explains it would be too much pressure especially with what his family is going through with Alvar shaming their name. Fitz wants to do match making and Sophie does not. I don’t think either of them would change and to be honest I do like Sophie and Fitz as friends. I feel like they work better as friends. When they dated I felt like they were both tiptoeing around the other until they exploded. Until matchmaking is out of the equation and if she breaks up with Keefe and why. That all factors in if they could even work again. Sophie is changing. Fitz is changing. It’s okay for people to think they would be perfect together to grow apart. They still love one another even if it’s not romantic.

what is your opinion on how keefe was a part of his and fitz's friendship failing?

Firmly believe both of them contributed to that, but also that external factors influenced them in ways that made them less compatible as friends—the extreme mutual jealousy being part of it imo. I’ve talked about it in detail elsewhere but I forget where that was. In any case, I think both Keefe and Fitz have their moments of trying and failing in their friendship, and it’s sad how much they’ve grown apart. For example Fitz has his good moments in their friendship (trying to help in unlocked) and his bad ones (“like you could tell with your mom” was COLD) and then you have Keefe who tries to be a good friend to Fitz regarding his relationship/the love triangle but also kind of sees him as having a “perfect” life because of their different family situations (meanwhile Fitz wishes he didn’t have to constantly appear perfect. It’s a constant cycle of Keefe wishing he could be perfect like Fitz and Fitz wishing he could be imperfect like Keefe and it is VICIOUS)

I have a lot of Keefe and Fitz thoughts and feelings. Keefe’s role isn’t any greater or less than Fitz’s, and I think most of the issues are circumstantial rather than either of their faults.

That's a perfect way to describe him. They would have similar mannerisms, too. I wonder how many other kotlc characters have similar versions in atla or tlok characters.

Pema is close to how Emma Foster might act, and fits since she's a non-bender while the others are benders (elves).

Asami is totally Biana (mannerisms and interests) while Mako would be Fitz and Bolin would be Keefe. Sophie doesn't really have a good match. Suyin might share the most characteristics with Della, and Toph's father would be like the equivalent of Fallon Vacker, so that family can easily be found.
