The ultimate outcome... the core. The fate of the dungeon is something he wants to decide and get a say in as well. Even though he knows he isn't the one thats going to conquer it, he chooses to stop Mithrun from beating up Thistle and grabs him and they free fall into that pit. Because he decided, yeah, the fate of this dungeon the one to conquer it has to be us short-lived races/humans. He is such an action oriented character . He makes such decisions. He is so determined to make sure that Utaya doesn't repeat itself. Man.

This entire song is So Kabru coded its insane to me . but I grabbed these lyrics from Verse 3 Because the last line specifically makes. me go crazy.

"You're a fraud, and you know it" -> the freaking masker . he is such a liar and he knows it... theres not much else to say here. Playing the hero, the saviour, while knowing he doesn't actually have the skills to defeat the dungeon but hes just so desperate . man

"And every night and day you take the stage" -> he should get an acting award fr... always adjusting his personality and carefully planning his steps with each person he interacts with man... also inchtresting to me that he gets to be more #real with Mithrun. thats a whole nother analysis can of worms I won't get into but like they rlly drove each other's character development...

"And it always entertains, you're giving pleasure" -> To quote Holm, Kabru is the typa guy who would do anything to get someone to like him akdjskhf hes so real for that...

GENUINELY cannot really do this analysis lyric by lyric or I will go ... well. I'll go into the deep end but . like . right. anyway. this set of lyrics above aka the most popular line is very Kabru appearance. (Goodness i need to make an AMV of this. I will one day once the executive dysfunction stops fighting my autistic hyperfixation ass)

THIS WHOLE . SET OF LYRICS IS JUST BIG KABRU VIBES (SOURCE: JUST TRUST ME BRO)... His heart is full of swords... the sword fighter (he is proficient in many weapons)... im not big into tarot (or well i havent researched it much) but the annotations for these lyrics said that its referencing the Three of Swords tarot card, which represents painful sorrow. and like.. man like a fundamental sorrow in Kabru is so oughh its just so . real. and again i need a whole nother analysis post for this since this is already So long

Tie my hands & knock my knees. he is so stressed he is so . nervous all the time and these r like. the freeze . trauma response. to me. he goes freeze and fawn a lot (fawn not specifically with abusers per say but like people pleasing tendencies again) and like kind of visibly looking nervous and stressed out up before saying smth next is smth he does a lot I feel.

And like the vibe of like sinking to the sea with a heavy heart but also being someone who brings hope in a way to others (ex: Rin and Mithrun, he ends up being their anchor and helping them start like living with their lives after the burden of their traumas and hellish experiences) but Kabrus own traumas are so immense and then the person who rises . who foils him and who brings him hope is Laios. like a ripe red apple like. something bright and tempting and also dangerous (smth smth the forbidden fruit symbolism. theres so much . like Kabru that I can dissect with like Biblical symbolism themes but like anyway he sees Laios as both the key to humanity's victory against the dungeon and as sin / a distraction from his goal because Laios makes him do selfish things and its just AAAAHGHH rahhhh. man. im normal)

I love how you noticed that Johnny does stop to check in. He has a very firm grip on her mental and emotional state, (it’s not his first rodeo) and he knows just how to bring her back.

The two of them + Bunny is really a dream come true even if she doesn’t realize it yet (they do) and it will take a lot of time and work on everyone’s part.

I think your notes in your last paragraph are pretty spot on, too. Bunny will talk about it more in the next two chapters but- getting a new identity is not a two day turnaround.

I keep seeing those Australian Hunstman spidersonas and I wrote a little drabble about the conflicting British, American and Australian ‘chips’ argument. As an Aussie I love the Australian Huntsman idea, and people from Australia should get this. 

Just a little drabble about an Australian Spidersona with Hobie,  Miles and Gwen arguing chips.

Can be read as a Hobie x reader, or platonic, can be read as any gender

“I swear Miguel’s actual mission is to kill us,” you hear Miles groan. The latest mission had been rounding up a scorpion anomaly, whose stinger somehow multiplied when it was cut off. After dropping it at HQ, the battered and bruised group decided to crash in your universe.

“Correction, try to kill you,” you laughed, which earned you a pointed look from Gwen. Hobie smirked, slapping Miles on the back. “Aye, probably cause you missed his last lecture mate.”

Gwen rolls her eyes. “No, that was you Hobie, you missed his last lecture.”

“Nah, ya trippin Gwendy, why would I miss the boss’s twenty minute screamin match about ‘HQ mandatory cleaning regulations,” he responds, leaning back in his chair. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself, as you recall ranting to him about that lecture yesterday. 

Since being bitten by a radioactive spider a year and a half ago, you had been Sydney’s one and only Huntsman, and a part of the spider society. A year and a half of fighting villains, anomalies, maggies and eshays. You enjoyed your life as Sydney’s huntsman, your average broke yr 12 (public school not private because you ain’t one of those snobby rich cunts, you literally live in Bankstown be fr) by day, before swinging over to Maccas for a quick frozen coke and being an eshay fighting official sick cunt by night.

Hobie jumped out of his chair with a grin on his face making his way over to where you stand in the kitchen. He leans against the sink, arms folded. “Oi love, where you keep ya food?”

You hummed pointing up to a cupboard, “Should be Chips up there.” 

“Chips?” He asks, not quite sure if he heard you.

“Nah fucking potatoes, yes chips you dickhead.” You scoff. 

“Means ya gonna cook em then.” Hobie sighs, and looks down from the cupboard. He is met with your horrified face. Your jaw drops and he realised he’s fucked up somehow judging by the furious look in your eye.

“WHY WOULD YOU FUCKING COOK THEM?” you yell dumbfounded. Your outburst caught the attention of the rest of your friends which made them come running. 

“What’s going on?”

“Oi, y/n eats chips raw mate, like I have to draw the line there that’s pretty fucked.”

Gwen raises her eyebrows before sharing a look with Miles. “Why would you cook chips?” Hobie looks at Gwen unimpressed.

“Thank you, yes, god, yeah you cook chips but you don’t cook those chips.”

“Wait what chips do you cook y/n?” Miles asks, confused.

“Y’know, um…. the long ones?” Hobie and Gwen smirk, and you roll your eyes. “Fuck off, I mean the potato ones, I can’t explain them just y’know.” 

Gwen pinches her nose. “I’m confused.”

Miles looks between all of you. “Me too.”

A loud laugh pierces the air, surprising you, Miles and Gwen. Hobie was howling with laughter, tears in his eyes. You stood there not knowing how to react. He crossed his arms over his stomach in an attempt to catch his breath and wipes his eyes. 

“Oi y/n mate, they’re crisps,” he chuckles.

“What the fuck are crisps?” You snap.

“Those are crisps.”

Gwen quickly butts in, “She’s right Hobie they’re chips.” Miles nods in agreement.

He shakes his head, “Nah chips are the one ya cook.”

“Oh, no that’s French fries,” Gwen responds in realisation.

You question Gwen, “Like the chips you get at Maccas?” 

“Maccas? Yeah, but we call them Fries or French fries.” 

You cross your arms and grin. “They’re not even French.”

Hobie nods in agreement, before turning to you. “So you call Chips like the fried ones, ‘chips‘ and crisps ‘chips’ as well?” 

“Well yeah but y’know the difference depending on the scenario like why would I keep chips in the cupboard?”

Miles pick up the packet, before questioning you as well. “So y/n you call fries ‘chips’ and chips the same?”

“Yes Miles,” stealing the bag from him and opening the packet. 

“Ya Aussies are weird,” Gwen says while taking a chip from the packet. A ring clad hand is shoved into the packet and takes a handful, while a web from his free hand takes the packet. Before you can respond to the two Americans with some comment about having free healthcare involving lots of bad words, Hobie nudges you with his arm. “Glad we cleared that up love, cause I couldn’t hang with someone with shit food choices,” he snickers, shoving his mouth with food.

You huff, grabbing the packet again. “Shut the fuck up, your name is literally Hobart.”

Katie and Paige interactions have my whole heart. Whenever I think about them, I always end up thinking about that immunity booster video so I’m glad it got the mention in part 5!

What is it with you and these damn phone calls, Nivi!! “You’re gonna be a wonderful wife P.” “You’re gonna be an amazing mom Az.” – once again, cue “and it would have been sweet, if it could have been me”. She might be in her early thirties but there’s something about Katie Fudd that makes Paige feel like it’s okay to be a bit of a child. – Obsessed with this because I just feel like you perfectly captured their relationship with this line.

“You’re so goddamn dramatic Bueckers,” Katie rolls her eyes –so real for this cause Paige really was being dramatic af since Azzi left with Stephie. Standing on the porch for way-too-long just staring into the distance then breaking down in the fort and not moving for 3 hours. DRAMATIC. But like sad 😔

hello. i have just finished all of nightmare time. buckle up, i have thoughts and spoilers ahead.

just a general statement before opinions are shared: obviously some situations take place in different timelines (like the ape-man vs time bastard), but what do you think happens in the *same* timelines? obviously forever and always and time bastard are the same timeline, but do you think each episode is a different time line? do you think it depends? as i’m typing this, i think each episode of nightmare time is a different reality, let me know your thoughts!

okay, starting from the very beginning with ape-man:

i thought ape-man was a good intro to what should be expected of nightmare time. i thought the “ape-man” being a set-up between ted and hidges was funny. i loved that lucy ended up actually meeting the real ape-man in the end. i didn’t really care for the ape-man *song*, and after finishing the rest of the episodes, it was a forgettable episode as a whole, but again, great intro to the idea of what nightmare time is.

watcherworld:

i love alice and bill, so i enjoyed this. watching nightmare time *after* nerdy prudes must die helped me be more excited about the introduction of the rest of the lords in black (because i somehow avoided spoilers for THAT long). that father-daughter relationship was so well put together. i love the blinky song, didn’t care for snoozle town (however, it did sound like black friday, the song, which might not have been intentional, but i’m gonna pretend it was to appreciate jeff blim lmao), as i’m typing this i don’t really remember one thousand eyes, so…i guess it wasn’t memorable? overall, i liked the generally positive ending and bill and alice establishing they will change their ways to help their relationship. love love love.

forever & always:

loved this episode. paulkins till i die fr. i was damn near fucking crying during the opening scene, i shit you not. (side note: i have recently developed the biggest soft spot for paulkins after reading the most incredible fan fiction, probably ever, forelsket by gooddaysunshine on ao3, which i qualify as canon now.) the song forever & always is definitely in my top five nightmare time songs, i just love it. i was totally shocked when paul killed the real emma, up until he revealed he was also a clone/not the real paul, so respect ig. top tier nightmare time episode.

time bastard:

the song time bastard is also in my top five nightmare time songs. kim whalen plz sing me to sleep. the song really set my expectations high because of how good forever & always was, but i was really let down. the revelation of tinky wasn’t as direct or nuanced as blinky and i thought the plot was really slow UNTIL the last ten minutes when everything looped (i love a fuckin loop). making ted the homeless man was truly an incredible plot twist, which makes me sad that wasn’t reflected during the rest of the episode. also peanuts is hilarious.

jane’s a car:

i love tim and sue me for being a barneston shipper. did NOT like jane, did NOT like the plot of tom fucking a car, that got a little too unhinged for even me. the song jane’s a car has been stuck in my head since before i even saw the fucking episode, i could not tell you how many times i have just yelled “GOT MY FOOT ON THE GAS” in the middle of conversations. that being said, the rest of the song was forgettable which upset me! i didn’t enjoy this episode, aside from the mention of the black book on the radio and the twist at the end where it’s revealed jane did take over becky.

the witch in the web:

first of fucking all, kendall nicole is a gift to this earth. that child is incredible beyond compare. protect her forever. second of all, i can’t really remember the plot of this episode, but i do know that i liked the story? not enough to remember it though? this is definitely a middle ground episode for me. i didn’t particularly enjoy either song, but i didn’t hate them. i liked the plot of miss holloway taking hannah into the black and white and travelling through time (kinda), and i liked the overall theme of webs to introduce webby.

honey queen:

the song honey queen didn’t do much for me, neither did latte hatte, or nibbly ditty. if this was any other circumstance i would’ve also added queen b to the list, but i saw it in the jangle ball before this and that made me enjoy it, but if i hadn’t seen jangle ball, just know, i would not have liked queen b. that being said, i did like this episode. i am not a linda monroe stan (sorry), but i do think she’s funny. i thought the kids were funny, i wanted to punch zoey in the face, sam gave me the ick, gerald is a fucking freak, i have never wanted to throttle jon matteson until i watched this (i forgot his character’s name), so all in all, none of these characters are likable at all except for river, but that’s the monroe’s for you. the episode was slow, but in the way a slow burn in slow. once again, liked the introduction of nibbly, and i think having the first episode *be* the honey queen festival was super important to the rest of the season because they never shut the fuck up about it after this (this is another reason why i think each episode is it’s own universe but i disgress). if that confused you, i *did* enjoy the episode, but it was another middle-grounder for me.

perky’s buds:

liked that emma got to start her pot farm. overall have nothing of value to say about this one. joey as the bird was really fucking funny. i like jae. love emma forever, that freak. this episode was really slow and not at all in a good way. i did not like the song perky’s buds. just wanted the episode to end. sad face.

abstinence camp:

this is probably my favorite nightmare time story. the song axe-man is definitely number one on my list (we’ll talk more later). the plot of this one was SO good and funny and creepy and everything hatchetfield is about. my main love for this episode stems from the introduction of our three lead nerdy prudes must die characters. i love those three freaks. steph and peter almost getting in the same shower went fuckin crazy and i was kinda glad they got caught lmao. the plot of girl jeri and boy jerry was too fuckin good, and i will say, i was a little confused why the axe-man never showed up to kill them when they were very obviously horny, BUT IT’S ALMOST LIKE THAT WAS THE PLOT HAHAHAHAH. also, love the return of plot and lore about the woods, seriously, needed that. also also, jon matteson and kim whalen should be paired up more because they’re both so fucking funny and have the capability of being charming yet ever so slightly off-putting and i fucking love it. virginity rocks is a fuckin banger (heh), but the real star of the show is axe-man. let me tell you why axe-man is the best nightmare time song: not only does it introduce the axe-man (who we have been seeing and hearing THE ENTIRE SEASON, mind you), but bryce charles is singing?? i literally don’t know what else you need to hear from me?? corey dorris in a flannel will forever change my brain chemistry and they both sound so good together, truly, and corey dorris is a baritone legend (i’m looking at *you*, corey singing the hidden baseline in high school is killing me). “his blade is made of hate” sounds damn near EXACT to “you better hope you’re outta sight” (literal monster). “oh the pain” sounds damn near EXACT to “it ain’t great” (hatchet town). MOTHERFUCKERS. WHEN THE BRIDGE STARTS “these woods belong to him…” THE FUCKING HATCHET TOWN MOTIF IS LITERALLY FUCKING PLAYING LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? also, just the fucking end that proves ur dead?? please. jeff blim. here, have some flowers. i will do anything for you. anyway. great episode. love it. 10/10.

i liked that we gave frank some backstory and gave him a little more humanity because i really did not like that motherfucker (heh) in black friday. the plot with sherman was VERY funny and him turning into a child is kinda cute tbh. sheila u bitch, u let barry swift out of there!! i will forever be a man in a hurry fan, even after death 😭. yes take this psycho’s money and make your family’s toy store better and pay your one employee a living wage!! we love to see it. i don’t even remember the song young at heart, so that should tell you enough about how much i didn’t like it lmao. i had been waiting to see those care bears because i fucking knew they were going to be the lords in black plushies after i saw what colors they were. nick lang, you sneaky bastard.

finally learned the tea about miss holloway and yes it was worth it. yes, i do realize why everybody loves duke and miss holloway now, hell, i love em now. miss holloway’s plot is crazy and if there’s another nightmare time season i hope she gets another episode, honestly. i like run away with me as a song in general, but for the genre of artist miss holloway is painted to be, the song is lackluster. I DO LIKE IT THOUGH BUT I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE MORE ROCK AND ROLL. i do realize it is a ballad, but even rock and roll ballads go harder than that did. killer track is a fucking rager???? jeff blim what are you doing writing musical theatre songs???? go write some fucking grunge shit???? killer track goes so fucking hard i really can’t explain it, jesus christ, also the video was sick as shit, do more!! i liked the vibe of the song yellow jacket, very avril lavigne. loved the plot. loved the reprise of lex opening the wiggly box x opening the pokey box. i love the idea that there are multiple kids like hannah in hatchetfield and that would be a GREAT plot to expand upon more, however, i like that hannah and lex got out of there, but i felt so bad for ethan :( i wonder if he had proposed to lex that morning if she had said yes and not left or if she had taken them with him ugh i hate not knowing. my favorite thing about the hatchetfield universe is that they just keep pumping out these stories and plot lines that confirm these things are canon in at least one universe. i love knowing as much as possible and that’s what nightmare time has given me, ily girl. sorry went on a tagent and didn’t finish: didn’t like use it or lose it, i didn’t like next time, but i thought it was sweet 🥺 they’re all such cuties. aha! Though I felt last ep was sloppy, satisfying in this one for the emperor to finally catch on that Hua Fei is having too much conversation with her brother. The point to where she knows about battle results at the same speed as the emperor and coordinating requests for reward? No bueno.

The minion going after ZH's dad is bad timing (for my gf) but that doesn't feel as overly convenient as last episode, because they set this up previously and we've been waiting for the general's faction to take action. So! I finally saw the fnaf movie! And I’ve got many thoughts about it!!! Here’s my review and random reactions and thoughts about it. Spoilers for the movie under the cut. Proceed with caution!

I thought it was really good! Definitely wasn’t perfect but I had a lot of fun watching it! My mom was with me, and she doesn’t really know anything about fnaf but she also enjoyed it. I didn’t really get scared at any point during the movie (I was more scared by the horror trailers they played before it started haha), but that’s fine! Maybe I’m just immune to jumpscares.

The effects!!! All the animatronics looked so good in motion, and the sound design made them feel even more real. Every heavy metallic movement or blink of an eye, it was just perfect.

There are sooooo many Easter Eggs! Sparky the dog! Ella from the books as a prototype circus baby spring lock suit!

The soundtrack slapped, especially the opening credits. Blumhouse was cooking in the music department fr 🔥🔥🔥

BLANKET FORT SCENE! EVERYONE CHILLING TOGETHER ON THE FLOOR AND BEING FRIENDS! I wish they could’ve stayed friends like that, it was my favorite scene of the whole movie and was so sweet

I heard everyone say there was a matpat cameo but I didn’t see it? Either I somehow missed it or the theater cut the scene or something? I SWEAR I didn’t see this man or hear him say his iconic line. I did have to get up at one point to use the bathroom really quick, so many that’s when I missed it.

Coryxkenshins cameo! I love that guy, he did really good for his quick scenes! I think they should make him a reoccurring character actually. Have him run over springtrap in the next movie.

Also the aunt character was evil. But like, comically evil. She hires people to break into the restaurant to make Mike look bad so she can get custody of Abby and get the government paychecks for it. And she got murdered in Mikes house by Golden Freddy, and they never resolve that??? Last we see her she’s lying dead on the floor and then the last scene with Mike and Abby they’re happily eating spaghetti at home like their aunt wasn’t murdered in the living room lmao. And we know Vanessa couldn’t have covered for them because she’s in a coma soooooooo. 🤷‍♀️

The coolest kill was when Freddy bit that girl in half and her bottom half fell onto the floor like DANG! The rest of the kills they either cut away from or don’t really show detail, which I thing is a weak point. Next movie I think they should push it a little bit further, but I understand why they shot it the way they did.

Is this a good time to admit that I’m kinda down bad for Josh Hutcherson in this thing hhahghshdh 😳🫣 boy stopping looking at me with them big sad doe eyes

Matthew Lillard was also serving cunt in this, even though he got 10 minutes of screen time 😔 he gave it his all. Hopefully if we get a sequel he gets to do Springtrap stuff.

Mike during this whole movie be like: 😴. I’m surprised it took so long for the band to attack him in real life (dream sequences don’t count) when in literally every other scene he’s popping pills and taking naps. He naps every few scenes and yet looks like he hasn’t had a good nights rest in 30 years 😭

So… Garret isn’t one of the spirits? I would’ve thought he was Golden Freddy but he’s not…. Maybe in this universe Garret is the puppet? There was a hidden message in the end credits that says COME FIND ME and the puppet music box is playing. That seems to be what theyre trying to set up for a potential sequel, but…. That’d make me a little sad tbh, this is Charlie erasure ;-; Also can we please have Henry Emily do something for once in this franchise, WHERE is this man.

The finale was cool! When Spring Bonnie walked in everyone was like “YESSS!!!” And after he started talking my mom was like “😯 I think I know who it is!”

William smacked Mike so hard he did a damn triple flip through the air and got his ass knocked out cold. Mans him so hard that it probably sent him back to the bite of 83 💀💀💀

So. The big thing. No Michael Afton in the movie. In fact, Vanessa is William’s only child.

Honestly I’m kinda down for the strange role swap that this universe has going on. I don’t think anyone expected Vanessa to be Williams daughter, but that was cool, and it gives a little insight as to how William managed to get away with this for so long. He’s literally got a kid in the police force keeping tabs on Freddys and covering his tracks for him. Now it suddenly makes sense why in the trailers Vanessa seems so knowledgeable about the animatronics and already knows they’re possessed.

Tbh I had a random thought. If Vanessa gets to take over Mikes role in this world as Williams kid, then Mike should get to have his own “reluctant follower” villain arc. Put that man in a rabbit costume. It’s only fair. Equality 😤 ✊

And with those final thoughts…. Yeah! I’d say the movie was a solid 8.5/10 for me, I’ll probably go see it again with friends when they get off work this weekend! The critics are wrong yet again, it’s a perfectly enjoyable movie and the fans will love it.

Summary: The video Kim sent to Chay is leaked, and all of Wik's fans suddenly know Chay's name. Including the group chat.

Chay frowned slightly as he felt his phone go off in his pocket. He glanced at it quickly, seeing that the group chat was blowing up, and decided to ignore it. He went back to comparing lemons, stifling a laugh when his phone continued to buzz.

A few minutes later, he was pulling his phone out again in frustration, unable to focus on grocery shopping with the constant vibrations.

He furrowed his brow as he read, eyes widening in panic at Fern’s last text. His mind started racing as he tried to figure out how they could have possibly known. He thought about pleading ignorance, but figured if he waited them out a little, they might give more detail.

Chay’s heart started pounding at that, trying to figure out what had been leaked, and by whom . He pulled up twitter and searched ‘wik leaked’, clicking on the first video that popped up. He put an earbud in and hit play. Kim appeared on the screen, a guitar resting over his knees.

He started singing a song.

He started singing their song.

Chay’s panic increased, remembering what happened at the end of the video, and hoping like hell it was going to cut off before then.

“Excuse me.” A girl tapped him on the shoulder, gesturing to the mangoes he was blocking.

“Oh, sorry!” He got out of her way at once, then made the split-second decision to abandon the groceries in favor of figuring out what the hell was going on. He made his way outside, leaning against the wall as he started the video back up. The wait was killing him, so he just skipped to the end, leaving about fifteen seconds or so. He stared at Kim’s face on the screen, hoping desperately the video was going to cut off early.

Please don’t say it, please don’t say it, please don’t say it…

“This is for Porchay,” he said.

His phone was buzzing again. He was in the back of one of Kim’s cars, being driven back to Kim’s apartment, with no idea whether Kim had seen the video or not. The driver had given him a slightly confused look when he’d reappeared without groceries, but the look on Chay’s face must have persuaded him not to say anything.

He sighed and pulled out his phone.

Chay stifled a laugh despite himself, relieved to find that at least his friends weren’t putting the pieces together. Or, rather, that they just thought it was all a funny coincidence. He really wasn’t ready to tell them the whole story yet. He still had a dull feeling in his chest, though, anxiety thrumming at the thought of people using his name to try and figure out who he was. He shot a text back to the group chat, figuring he should at least try and behave normally.

Chay shook his head again, this time smiling fondly down at his phone. His smile faded as the leaked video popped back into his head. He wasn’t entirely sure what to do. Did he tell Kim? Did Kim already know? Should he tell Mae? She definitely needed to know, but maybe Kim was supposed to tell her.

The car came to a stop and Chay realized they were back at Kim’s apartment. He wandered upstairs in a daze, trying his best to smile at the guards as he passed them.

“P’Kim?” he called as he opened the door. It was right around the time Kim should’ve been getting home, so he wasn't sure if he was alone or not.

“Here!” Kim called back, sounding like he was either in the music studio or the bedroom. Chay worried his lip in between his teeth, mulling over how best to break the news to Kim. “Hey,” Kim said softly, appearing in the foyer. As soon as he saw Kim’s face, he realized he didn’t need to tell him. It was clear he already knew.

“Hey,” he echoed, attempting a smile.

“You saw,” Kim surmised, eyes tracking over Chay’s face.

“Yeah,” Chay confirmed. “I’m sorry.”

Kim’s eyebrows immediately knitted themselves together in confusion. “No, I’m sorry. Why are you sorry?”

“The video got leaked? My name’s in it? And I know you didn’t want it public?” Chay rattled off, raising his eyebrows continuously as he spoke.

“But it’s not your fault,” Kim replied, brow still furrowed.

“I can still be sorry it happened,” Chay reminded him. Kim seemed to relax a little at that, but he still had a strange expression on his face that Chay couldn’t quite place. “C’mere,” he murmured, pulling Kim into a hug. Kim immediately buried his face in Chay’s neck, squeezing him tightly without any sign of letting go. Chay just went with it. Occasionally, something like this would remind him of just how touch-starved his boyfriend had been his whole life. Once again, he made a mental resolution to hug Kim more often.

“It’s my fault,” Kim muttered, once they’d pulled apart.

Chay was the one looking confused now. “Did you post it?” he asked mildly.

“No,” Kim looked affronted at that, upset that Chay would ever believe that of him.

“Then how is it your fault?” Chay asked, tilting his head meaningfully.

“I’m the one who recorded it,” Kim said miserably. “I’m the one who sent it.”

Chay sighed, shaking his head. Kim had a spectacular ability to find a way to blame almost anything on himself. This was especially true, he’d found, when a situation involved Chay in any way.

“It’s not your fault,” Chay told him firmly. “Whoever leaked it, that’s whose fault it is.”

“But—”

“No buts,” Chay insisted. “You didn’t do anything wrong. You don’t get to beat yourself up over it.”

Kim held his gaze for a minute, guilt clearly still etched into his features before he looked away. Chay sighed, wishing his words were enough to make Kim understand but knowing that they weren’t. He pulled him back into a hug, pressing a kiss to his cheek before burrowing his face into Kim’s neck.

“I love you,” he reminded Kim.

“I love you, too,” Kim echoed back immediately.

“It’s gonna be fine.”

Kim hesitated for a moment, the silence bearing down as Chay waited for him to respond.

“It’s gonna be fine,” he eventually repeated.

Chay closed the browser on his phone, reminding himself for the millionth time that reading the comments was not helping anything. He was feeling itchy at the thought of how many people now knew his name, even if they didn’t have any idea who he was. They were still speculating, wondering whether he was Wik’s Mystery Boyfriend or some ex from a few years ago. Wondering about the song, wondering about their relationship, wondering about him. 

He was feeling sick to his stomach, and it was only exacerbated as he considered how he might have acted only a year ago. While it was hard to imagine, he tried to think of how he would’ve reacted, if he’d been in their shoes. It was hard to say. Wik had never publicly dated anyone. After meeting him, Chay had realized this was because Kim had never dated anyone at all. 

No pressure.

His phone rang, and he picked up immediately upon seeing that it was Kim.

“Hi, P’Kim.”

“Hey, sweetheart.”

“What’s up?” Chay asked, trying to gauge Kim’s tone.

“Mae wants to meet again,” Kim told him, after a beat of silence. Chay worried his lower lip between his teeth, fairly certain that he knew what that meant.

“Because of the video?” he checked.

“Because of the video.”

“How did this happen?”

“I don’t know.”

“I’m asking you—”

“And I’m telling you I don’t know,” Kim interrupted. Mae let out a frustrated huff at that, eyeing him suspiciously. Chay was seated next to Kim on the couch, silently watching them like they were engaged in a particularly interesting boxing match.

“You must have some idea,” Mae decided, narrowing her eyes at Kim.

“I only sent the video to Chay,” Kim insisted. “I don’t know how anyone else would have it.”

“You texted it to him?” Mae asked, fingers flying on her phone as she spoke.

“Um…no.” Kim’s eyes darted quickly to the side, and Mae looked up as soon as she heard the hesitation in his voice.

“How’d you send it to him?” she questioned, tilting her head slightly. Her gaze was fixed intently on Kim, and Chay was just glad he wasn’t the one being interrogated.

“Does it matter?”

“Yes, it does matter,” Mae fired back. “Since we apparently have a security leak.”

“It was through Facebook,” Kim finally admitted.

“No, it wasn’t,” Mae frowned. “I would never have given you the password.”

“Not the Wik account,” Kim clarified.

“You don’t have your own account,” Mae argued, eyes narrowing with suspicion once again.

“I made one?”

“Then why aren’t we friends?” Mae cried, clearly outraged. Kim groaned, burying his head in his hands. There was a long moment before he emerged, taking a deep breath before speaking.

“Look,” he said. “I just made it to send the video to Chay. That’s all. I haven’t used it since.”

Mae frowned again.

“Why wouldn’t you just text it to him?” She looked confused. “That’s so much more secure,” she added under her breath, as an afterthought.

“Um…” Kim trailed off, sending a quick, questioning glance towards Chay.

“I blocked him,” Chay cut to the chase. Mae’s eyebrows shot up further than he would’ve thought possible, and Kim looked vaguely scolded.

“When was this?” Mae asked, perplexed.

“Before we got together,” Kim said. “Or…after. Or before…the second time?” His voice went up at the end. He glanced at Chay again, who looked faintly amused.

“What?” Mae was no less confused after Kim’s explanation.

“It’s a long story,” Chay told her, hoping they could move on.

“Okay.” She shook her head slightly, a hint of confusion still visible in her face. “So, you only sent the video through that account?” Kim nodded. “And you never sent anything else?” Kim shook his head. “Okay.” She thought it over for a minute. “We might be fine then. Although…”

“What?” Kim asked, when it became clear that she wasn’t going to continue.

“Whoever leaked it…might know Chay’s name,” she pointed out.

“...because it was in the video?” Kim raised an eyebrow. “I think everyone knows.”

“His full name,” Mae emphasized. “If they know which account you sent it to. They didn’t leak it, though, which is good news.”

Kim’s expression shifted quickly to concern at this revelation.

“We need to figure out who it is,” he said firmly.

“We can try, ” Mae told him. From her tone, Chay didn’t think it was too likely they’d be able to find out.

“Try?” Kim’s tone was leaning towards anger, which was unusual for him, especially with Mae. Chay rested a hand on Kim’s arm and shifted his leg until their knees were touching. Kim let out a long breath and pressed his knee more firmly against Chay’s. “I just think this is important,” he said, his tone much more measured.

“And I agree,” Mae said patiently. “I just don’t know how likely it is.”

Kim’s expression darkened at that, and he slipped a hand onto Chay’s knee before he replied. “So we’re, what? Just supposed to wait until they decide to reveal it?”

“No,” Mae said. “We can still try our best to figure it out. In the meantime, we can prepare for that…eventuality.”

Kim let out another sigh, clearly dissatisfied. He was drumming his fingers ever-so-slightly on Chay’s knee.

“Thank you, P’Mae,” Chay chimed in. “We should set up another meeting to talk about that,” he said, firmly ending the conversation.

“Okay,” she agreed easily, still eyeing Kim warily. “I’ll schedule something.”

Chay guided Kim out of her office, knowing that him blowing up at Mae was something to be avoided at all costs. Kim stayed silent as they walked down to the car, his expression stony every time Chay glanced sideways at him.

“She’ll try to figure out who it was,” Chay finally said, once they were headed back to the apartment.

“I know,” was all Kim said back, his voice monotone.

“She’s just trying to help,” Chay pointed out.

“I know.”

“And it’s not her fault.”

“I know.” This time, Kim’s tone was one of frustration.

Chay flinched a little, still unused to Kim speaking harshly to him.

“It’s mine,” Kim said with a hollow voice. Chay was shocked silent for a minute before he found his tongue.

“P’Kim!” he scolded. “We talked about this. This is not your fault.”

“It is,” Kim insisted.

“Just because you sent me a video?” Chay asked. “That’s ridiculous.”

“Not just that,” Kim muttered.

“Then what?” Chay questioned him, feeling more and more lost.

Kim didn’t say anything, but he cut his eyes slightly towards the front of the car. Chay sighed as he understood. Despite the fact that the divider was up, and the driver was paid extremely well to pretend he couldn’t hear anything, Kim definitely wasn’t saying anything else until they were home.

Once they finally stepped inside the apartment, Chay turned to Kim expectantly.

“Well?”

“I sent the video,” Kim repeated.

“P’Kim,” Chay started, exasperated.

“And I talked about you,” Kim interrupted. Chay blinked, falling silent. “And then I fucked up and talked about you again. And now people are interested, and…” he cut himself off, frustration clearly building as he ran a hand through his hand.

“Okay,” Chay sighed, pulling Kim’s hand out of his hair. “C’mere,” he instructed, half-dragging Kim over to the couch. “This is not your fault,” he reiterated.

“Why else would they leak it?” Kim asked in a small voice.

“Some people are assholes?” Chay suggested, feeling triumphant when Kim let out a small huff of laughter. “You can’t blame yourself for everything,” he said. “Even though I know you want to.”

“Just when it’s my fault,” Kim muttered, petulant.

“You always think it’s your fault,” Chay argued back, flicking his forehead. Kim looked ready to disagree, but stopped short when Chay gave him a look. He was essentially pouting, now, and Chay rolled his eyes before pulling his boyfriend into his side. Kim immediately snuggled in closer, wrapping both arms around Chay like an octopus.

“I love you,” Chay told him, kissing the top of his head.

“I love you, too,” Kim said, his voice slightly muffled by Chay’s t-shirt.

“And this isn’t your fault,” Chay reminded him, starting to play with his hair. Kim stayed silent long enough for Chay to flick his ear.

“And this isn’t my fault,” Kim echoed back dutifully.

Chay smiled at that, continuing to play with Kim’s hair when he heard his phone buzz. He grabbed it, his other hand stilling without him noticing as he read the message.
