ONLY FRIENDS (2023)
KIRATI PUANGMALEE (as Atom)
&
TRAI NIMTAWAT (as Boston)
Commentary: Most of my post don't come with Commentary unless I feel the need. Title has played a few of asshole characters since he joined GMMTV after being in Love By Chance and it's unsequel Love By Chance 2: A Chance To Love as Tum. He was in love with his step brother.
Since then he played asshole Knot in BE MY FAVORITE and Puen in HIDDEN AGENDA.
But now he has been out assholed by NEO in Only Friends as Boston takes his friend's little brother man on man virginity as a one night stand. Poor Atom.

Arthurian videogames with romances (I added a little rainbow for queer romances options)
(in order of pics above, from left to right, top to borrom)
Secret Kiss with Knight: Otome -> mobile game, classic otome game with pay to unlock extra content. The romance options are Arthur, Merlin, Mordred and Galahad. Not played, so I cannot add any commentary.
Princess Arthur -> another otome mobile game, unfortunately impossible to find if not in Japanese now. Multiple romance options: Tristan, Lancelot, Merlin, Galahad, Mordred (not Arthur's son), Gawain. You play as a female Arthur character. The route are pretty long and complex, and it was set in arthurian times (with other secondary characters like Medraut, Morgause, Kay etc.). Quite good game too.
Choices: Guinevere ️‍🌈 -> free mobile game from "Choices: Stories you play", where you play Guinevere and you can romance Arthur or Lancelot. Arthur and Lancelot are not gender locked so you can choose their gender too. The game is complete and deal with Guinevere romance too, her arrival to Camelot and some strange premonition of danger she is having.
Pendragon Rising ️‍🌈 -> text game from "Choice of Games" (you can also buy it on steam). You play as Arthur (male or female) and you have to consolidate power and save Camelot as Uther is aging. The romance options seem to be Morgana, Emrys and Gawain (their gender seems to be chosen by the player, I am not sure).
The Chronicles of Lancelot ️‍🌈 -> gay (mlm) p0rn game on itch io and steam. THIS IS NOT FOR MINORS. You play as Lancelot, branded as a traitor after Ban has been accused of killing Uther. You go around sleeping with various characters (Kay, Gawain, Arthur, OCs) and trying to find out what happened to Excalibur. I am currently playing it, so I am not completely sure, but it looks like Arthur might be more of a romance option than the rest of the flirting and sleeping with options.
Arthurian Tale: Camelot ️‍🌈 -> ongoing text game by @cain--abel, I have not played it. You can play as any gender and you arrive at Camelot after Uther's death to find out who is the pretender who took the throne (Arthur). The romance options are Kay, Lancelot, Arthur (or Elaine, depending on the gender), Morgana, Lunete. You can play it here.
The Bastard of Camelot ️‍🌈 -> ongoing text game by @llamagirl28 and my favorite arthurian videogame ever. You play as Mordred (any gender) since his early years, meeting Arthur for the first time (and you can also decide how to react to your estranged father) and growing up with your dragon friend. There are multiple romance options: Gawain (Kay's son), Elaine, Galahad, Nimue, Isac (OC), Sophie, Agravaine (not related to Mordred). You can play it here.

Ship: Mike x Joe Ricco
Words: 900
Description: Mike brings Ricco lunch at work.
Warnings: none!
Joe would be in his office at lunchtime. Mike had made sure of that. Ever since they'd been going out, they wanted to bring him a homemade lunch. They'd prepped some cilantro lime salad and sandwiches the night before so they could easily come to his law building from their job at the paper.
They walked into his office and were greeted by Jamison, his secretary. They'd heard quite a bit about her but had never met her.
Jamison was a woman about Mike's age, maybe slightly younger. She had short brown hair that was parted in the middle and surrounded her head, a bit like a long pageboy. She smiled professionally as Mike approached.
“Hello, miss,” she said, which stung a little. “It's Mr. Ricco’s lunch hour but I can make you an appointment.”
Mike lifted the bag they were holding. “That's exactly what I'm here for.”
Jamison eyed Mike's flared slacks and furrowed her eyebrows. “You don't look like a delivery boy.”
Mike chuckled. “No, I write the political commentary section of The Chronicle. Occasionally I publish short stories. I've been in a few publications. I'm hoping for The Atlantic next.”
“Ambitious,” Jamison said. “So then-” A lightbulb went on in her head. “You're the person he's dating? You're Mike?”
“Yep! That's me. Nice to meet you.”
“How old are you?” she asked.
Mike sighed. “Why does everyone ask that? I finished my English doctorate three years ago.”
“You're my age?” she asked, then cringed. “Ricco’s old. He's probably my dad’s age.”
“If we're done judging me, I'm going to have lunch with my boyfriend.”
Mike attempted to walk past but Jamison stopped them.
“Oh, I'm not judging! I'm just surprised,” Jamison said. “It's good to see him happy. He's been alone as long as I've worked for him. Maybe he'll stay out of my love life now and stop being such a busybody.”
Mike chuckled. “He told me he was trying to get you a boyfriend. Any success?”
“Maybe,” she said, stressing the y. “He was right about Markham anyway.”
“What's up with old Italians and the matchmaking?” Mike joked. “We were set up by Nino and Angela. They'd been setting him up on a bunch of dates he didn't want.”
“What a hypocrite!” Jamison exclaimed. “Doesn't like it when people do it to him but does it to everybody else.”
“Well, see you later,” Mike said, and walked into Joe's office.
“Hi,” Mike said. “Lunch is here. I got held up by a very confused Jamison. You didn't tell her I was coming?”
“No, I forgot.”
“You didn't tell her what I look like? How old I am?”
“It didn't seem relevant.”
Mike laughed. “She's probably still in an advanced state of shock out there. Wondering how you pulled such a pretty young thing.”
He rolled his eyes. “You're not so young.”
“I'm decrepit in women's years, don't you know? Dry as dust!”
Joe busted up laughing at that.
They added dramatically, “Like an overripe lemon!”
He shook his head fondly. “Come here.”
Mike set the bag down on a chair and approached his desk. They leaned in.
Joe gave them a gentle kiss hello.
“Not quite dry yet,” he said.
Mike gave him a quick peck back. “You're getting there.”
“Hm, I don't know. I sure drive you crazy.”
There was no denying that.
“Shut up and eat one of these sandwiches.”
Mike grabbed out a pastrami for him and a veggie for themselves.
“There's salad too,” Mike said. “Cilantro lime. It's really good.”
“It probably is, if you made it,” he said.
Mike smiled.
“Are you busy for the rest of the day?” Mike asked.
“Oh, there's this case and that case,” he said. “Why? Are you planning on playing hooky?”
Mike smiled. “Oh, no. I have to get back to the paper and write my thoughts about the latest White House sex scandal. Riveting stuff.”
“The readers like it,” he said.
Mike looked up from their sandwich. “How would you know?”
“Oh. People like to talk. People think you're funny. Right, but funny.”
“Well. That's good.”
“I found one of your short stories in one of those little literature journals,” he said. “You're good.”
“I didn't know you read literary journals.”
“I don't.”
“Oh.”
“You should try to aim higher,” he said. “Some big paper.”
“The Atlantic and the New Yorker keep rejecting me,” Mike said. “But that's understandable because only 0.00067 percent of people get into those.”
“You'll get in,” he said. “They'd be stupid not to at some point.”
“Thank you.”
After a while, both finished their lunch. Mike sipped their green tea as slowly as they could.
“Don't you have that sex scandal to write about?” Joe asked.
Mike sighed. “I'm trying to pretend I have all the time in the world.” They took his hand from across the table. “What if I want to stay here?”
“I'll have to kick you out,” Joe said, lightheartedly. “I can't enable you slacking.”
Mike did their best pleading eyes. “Just once? We could just go walk the dock together?”
“I'll see you after work,” he said. “The dock’ll still be there. Along with the stars.”
“Well,” Mike sighed. “I tried. Have a good rest of your day.”
“Good luck on that commentary,” he replied.
“I'm not leaving without a kiss goodbye,” Mike said.
They kissed him for as long as they could.
“You taste like pastrami and mustard,” they said with a giggle.
“Go, go,” he said, waving them towards the door.
“I'm going, I'm going! It's almost like you want me to leave!”
Joe shook his head. “See you later.”
“If you're lucky.”
“See you later,” he repeated.
Mike gave him one last smile, then left his office. They hurried downstairs and across the dock. They were 15 minutes over their lunch hour.

my favourite title sequences in Fincher’s films!!! (because i can :3, and they are cool and epic)
basically in almost all of Fincher films (not 100% sure about ‘Benjamin Button’ and ‘Alien 3, but i cant find them online and im too lazy to check lmao) he adds a title sequence/opening credits which sets the tone of the film and gives the audience kind of a taster into what the film will be!! here are the ones i think are the best!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ (2011)
i fucking LOVE this title sequence and it is the best one in my opinion. first of all, Karen O, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’s rendition of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ is so cool and different, it really sets the tone of the film and kind of the tone for Lisbeths character. Fincher in the dvd commentary states “it’s (the song) so evocative of what i think Lisbeth is…not thinking, but you know sort of her marrow, what’s happening down deep inside her bones”
the CGI shots by Randy Sharp are stunning, Fincher describes the visuals as “what Lisbeths nightmare would look like”. but they also set up some of the main aspects of the film? such as the cables and keyboard for Lisbeth being a hacker, and the CGI people kissing representing the sexual themes of the film? i also like the font :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Se7en’ (1995)
the main thing about ‘Se7en’s opening credits that i love is the use of the song ‘Closer’ by Nine Inch Nails. the song is remixed so it sounds more eery and unsettling which helps set the tone for the movie, with some of the only lyrics being audible being “you get me closer to god” at the end of the sequence, which i think mimics the religious ideas of Doe’s character.
the visual of John Doe creating his diary’s and slicing his fingerprints off add to the sequence being disturbing, and introduces the audience to the antagonist without us knowing, only when we near the end of the movie would the audience member put together what the title sequence ment and who was portrayed in it and that’s so fucking cool!!! especially on a rewatch. Fincher in the dvd commentary says “to me it sort of pictorially represented aberrant thinking and it was like a way to actually see on screen, aberrant thought”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Fight Club’ (1999)
this opening title sequence places the audience in the narrators head, in his thoughts, from the beginning of the film. the Dust Brothers score sets a fast paced and modern tone (for the 90s) with the techno(?) music and the use of CGI. honestly i don’t have much to say about these opening credits, they are just fucking epic!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zodiac (2007)
the opening title sequence for ‘Zodiac’ follows two different scenes which are cut together; the letter from the zodiac killer being delivered to the San Fransisco Chronicle, and Robbert Graysmith arriving at work. this kind of sets up the two main things we as the audience will be following throughout the film, the zodiac letters and killings and the life of Robbert Graysmith over the same period of time. this sequence also gives us an insight into Graysmiths personality , in that he is a caring fatherand is kind of a ‘loner’ character at work. all of the text on screen also fades into the zodiac puzzle? or code that he uses and that’s another thing i love about it.
the score during the credits is kind of jazzy? i think (idk) but it sort of reflects the time period, 1969, as we also see on a calendar during this sequence. so Fincher has already established the time period, location and one of the main characters in this short title sequence. anyway cool and epic!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gone Girl (2014)
unlike the rest of the title sequences that i have previously mentioned, ‘Gone Girl’s opening credits are more low-key and quiet. they depict different areas around the town in Missouri where the story takes place in jump cuts. the quiet score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which is mixed in with folly sounds of birds chirping, gas hissing and crickets making noise, all gives a ‘calm before the storm type of feeling’. especially with Nick at the end of the sequence, who is stood outside of his house with a kind of gormless expression, and looks back at the house with anxiety?
but yeah if you got down this far thanks for reading! 😭 ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is by FAR my fav it’s just so fucking good and engrosses you into the story within the first 10mins or so!!

Table for Four by fox_of_nine_tales
Fandom: DMBJ | The Grave Robber’s Chronicles and related fandoms
Relationship: Liu Sang/Wang Pangzi/Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling
Rating: G
Tags: POV Outsider, Humor, Tooth-rotting Fluff
Summary: Four tomb-raiders walk into a bar restaurant. Their waiter is too gay for this.
Excerpt:
"Good evening, my name is Emile, how can I help you this evening?" he said in slightly breathless Mandarin as he came up to the table. After a quick glance around at those seated there - oh, nope, that was a mistake - he focused on Token Bear as being the only remote chance he was going to get through this with anything resembling composure. To his relief (and possibly slight let-down), the routine passing out of menus and ordering of drinks went smoothly, or at least with no indication that they realized he was internally screaming. He managed to find a loose thread on Hot Professor's sweater to focus on, and he could almost distract himself by wondering how King Bitch got his hair that smooth and shiny, but Boyband Ninja's aura was so powerful that his napkin was the nearest safe thing to eye contact he could get. His respect (and envy) of Hot Professor went up at the thought of actually having the nerve to kiss such an impossibly beautiful man, like that was something mere mortals were capable of. If they were a couple - did that mean the others were a couple too? With the unapologetic nosiness of a rank-and-file soldier in the customer service army, he glanced between Token Bear and King Bitch and decided that he could definitely see that. ...perhaps a little too well. He cleared his throat. Drink orders! Right! And thank god the personal assault known as table eight at least made up for their... everything-ness... by acting like any other diners, focused on their choices and rendered slightly uncomfortable by the place settings. Okay. Okay, he could do this.
Author's commentary:
I had jotted down this bit of nonsense ages ago, and when the LNY Exchange rolled around I was delighted to be able to whip it into shape and gift it to my darling Hils. Outsider point-of-view is such fun to play with, especially when faced with the ridiculousness that is the Iron-Triangle-plus-one.

My Favourite Books ❤︎
In a growny-uppy way, so no Percy Jackson, John Green, Harry Potter, Mortal Instruments, Anna and the French Kiss, Hunger Games, Divergent, Goosebumps, The Clique etc.
The Girls by Emma Cline
"Emma Cline’s first novel, “The Girls” (Random House), is a song of innocence and experience—in ways that she has intended, and perhaps in ways that she has not. It’s a story of corruption and abuse, set in 1969, in which a bored and groundless California teen-ager joins a Manson-like cult, with bloody, Manson-like results."- James Wood for The New Yorker
I'm With the Band by Pamela Des Barres
"The stylish, exuberant, and remarkably sweet confession of one of the most famous groupies of the 1960s and 70s... Warm, witty, and sexy, this kiss-and-tell-all stands out as the perfect chronicle of one of rock 'n' roll's most thrilling eras."- Booktopia
Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann
"Valley of the Dolls is a zipper-ripper that has been called trashy, tawdry, glitzy, lusty, sordid and seamy — and that's just the beginning of its appeal. Susann was accused of "typing on a cash register," and Truman Capote called her "a truck driver in drag." She threw a drink at Johnny Carson, a punch at a critic and a chair at a wrestler, before jumping into the ring. All of it sold books."- Nancy Bachrach for NPR
Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton
"Glittering with wit and insight, heart and humor, Dolly Alderton’s unforgettable debut weaves together personal stories, satirical observations, a series of lists, recipes, and other vignettes that will strike a chord of recognition with women of every age—making you want to pick up the phone and tell your best friends all about it." - Goodreads
Black Swans by Eve Babitz
"She may be self-absorbed and occasionally insensitive, but to a certain extent, she is aware of her failings and brave enough to expose them to her reader wholesale along with her effervescent party commentary... Reading Eve Babitz is like eating cake for breakfast, like having a gossip over brunch with your best friend. Her short stories consider the pros and cons of black lacquered swimming pools, and let us peer into the dining room of the Bel Air Hotel where Babitz — tripping on LSD — and her boyfriend are so drunk they can barely stay in their seats. "- Lauren Sazaren for Los Angeles Review of Books
Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
"Malibu Rising is a bloody great book. The kind of book you'll wish you could go back in time and experience for the first time all over again. It's got all the elements of a crackin' good novel - a page-turning plot, fully fleshed out, flawed, relatable characters, GOSSIP AND DRAMA, and little lessons you'll take with you long after you've read the final page." - Keryn Donnelly for Mamamia
Slow Days, Fast Company by Eve Babitz
"Imagine the incisive wit of Virginia Woolf mingling with the listlessness of Françoise Sagan—this is the work of Eve Babitz, an ingenue and poet. Her lyrical sensuality is both sexy and cerebral…this book sizzles with hedonistic abandon, sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll…it is the clarity of her language and her painterly style that cement her place in the pantheon of American literature." -Sarah Nasar,  British Airways High Life Magazine
I am certain that there is many I have forgotten but these are The Unforgettables.

The Chronicles of the Dark One: Domestic Battles
Chapter 25: For Whom the Dark One Works
What a night.
What a night!
Great and terrible, tiring and troublesome, slow and yet productive all at once!
After dealing with the Ice Queen he'd returned to his shop. He'd needed to pause and change into a suit the back drawer provided him with because the forest mud had wrecked his pants and shoes, but after that, he'd gotten to work.
Nimue was in a frenzy. This hat was what she'd been searching for in her time, something Merlin himself had come up with, she suspected, to capture her! Just like the Elixir of the Wounded Heart, it was made to fix and contain her, only once again, Merlin had failed to follow through. And because Merlin had never designated that it was only to capture Dark Magic, it could also capture Light Magic as well. She was giddy at the thought of that. Destroy all Light Magic, that was what she had always tried to tell him was the goal of every Dark One.
Except him. He'd never had any true interest in eliminating Light Magic. Even now, he had no urge to do it. All he wanted was freedom. Freedom from the dagger and the voices in his head. Helpful as they were, he wanted to be able to kiss his wife without feeling that there were a hundred spectators offering commentary. And if Nimue's suspicions, and the research of half a dozen other Dark Ones were to be believed, then this hat could help with half that problem, from there it would be a hop, skip, and a jump to solving the other. So, for now, Light Magic could stay in this world and reign supreme; freedom from the dagger was his only goal.
According to Nimue, the hat was meant to confine magic, much like the dust that lay in the nickel box. But there was one difference between the vessel once meant to contain magic and this hat. With the right amount of power, Nimue explained, the power within the hat could be wielded by the individual who possessed it.
To him, this all seemed like a far cry, but the Dark Ones…they confirmed it was not. They took over. They invaded his mind, flooding him with encounters and opinions and things they knew about the hat. They directed him to the chronicles that he'd packed away and brought for the occasion. And as it turned out, none of them had done more research on it than his predecessor. Zoso.
"I had to!" he hissed in his ear just before he began circling the table, staring at the object of his greatest desire in awe. "I was desperate to be free of that dagger. You think surrendering my power to you was my first attempt to remedy my situation?! Of course not! I worked and slaved and researched and learned before I came up against that curse you broke with the Arendelle girl's tear!"
"Yes, yes, we're all aware. You walked so that I could run, so show me!" he hissed at Zoso. And show him he did. The Chronicles that Zoso had kept during his time were thorough. There were sketches of the hat, sketches of what it would look like, and the night sky. A list of occupants that he suspected had met their end to the hat. The last was a Churnabog, like the thing he'd encountered on Bald Mountain in search of his Dark Curse. That made sense. The Churnabog were a rare species of Dark Magic descent. He suspected there might have only been three or four left in their world at one point. The Fairies and the Apprentice had been in touch with each other. If the Apprentice had managed to trap a few in the hat, then it stood to reason he would have been willing to provide one to Mother Superior to aid in the guarding of the Curse.
He learned that with every collection of magic, stars took their place on the hat. That had been what he'd seen. But according to Zoso, for the magic to be wielded properly, the space depicted on the hat had to be identical to what was in the night sky.
He worked all night, reading and theorizing and summarizing, and by the first lick of dawn when he finally opened the hat and got to work charting, he realized something quite delicious.
He was close.
Dangerously close, in fact! Zoso had even written out a rough estimate of the properties of the spell he'd need to cast to render the dagger a useless piece of metal, to keep his power and yet end the Dark One lineage Curse with him!
"Not all of it…" Zoso pointed out, tapping is finger on a large question mark that had been circled and underlined in his notes for emphasis. "There's missing something. Something to enact it that I could never quite put my finger on."
That was true. As he quickly looked at the properties and began to run the magical proof in his head, he quickly came to the same conclusion Zoso had years ago. There was something missing, something needed to root the magic and channel it entirely into him, stripping the dagger of it's power. Something he'd have to discover for himself, a final active conduit aside from the spell he'd have to will and the potions he'd have to take. But still, that was a small thing.
He was close, so much closer than he ever dreamed. So much closer than he had to imagine the Apprentice would have known otherwise he wouldn't have just left the hat laying out in the open for anyone to take. What other secrets could be at that house, he wondered…
He was close, but he had work ahead of him. Delicate work. Work that would require some careful manipulation and planning. The hat was close to being charged, but not fully. He needed to add magic users to his collection, very powerful magic users. The Apprentice was obviously a fine candidate since going back to capture Merlin wasn't a possibility. And with no desire to get into Merlin's tower, there was no point in keeping the old man alive. Well…not that he'd be dead inside the hat, not for a while, anyway. Zoso did point out in his research that while the hat harvested magic right away, further research had proved that it didn't harvest the body right away. It was a failsafe that Merlin had built into the hat to reverse what he'd done.
"A sign of his weakness," Nimue sneered.
Weakness indeed. But that delay he'd placed on the hat wasn't permanent. The hat wasn't meant to be an eternal prison sentence, and after time, the hat would absorb not just the magic but the being itself. But before that time passed, they could be called forth by being summoned from the hat.
That was of no matter. Once the Apprentice was in there, he intended to make sure that he stayed in there. For good.
Aside from the Apprentice, he had some other individuals in mind who could get the hat to the power level he wanted. The Fairies would be ideal. Ingrid and Elsa were also top of his mind for power at the moment. But, if his hope was to do this quietly, as under the radar as possible, then he was going to have to think carefully about how to follow through with this. The apprentice could easily disappear quietly. The Fairies were difficult, but he could manage it. Ingrid and Elsa, they'd be almost impossible with the amount of attention on them at the moment. Although, that attention would provide a wonderful distraction he could use to help him continue to fly under the radar.
The possibilities were endless. The ideas were swirling in his head, unformed but becoming clearer with every second until-
Until he climbed the stairs, opened the door to his bedroom, and suddenly realized that it was no longer his bedroom but theirs.
Belle…he'd been up working all night; productively working all night. The hat, the dust, his experiments. He'd had success, a lot of it. Just before he'd left, he'd cleaned it all away and checked the experiment. Both clocks were working again, as he'd planned, and once he checked the time difference, five hours was what he got. That was how long the dust would work in its current state. At least, it was an approximation. It would vary, given the person or magic that it was trying to contain, but for the most part, it was a number that he could work with and use from this point forward. It was a very successful night!
But why? For who? Not for him. He was the one who would easily benefit the most from no longer being tied to the dagger, but…it wasn't just about him anymore. It was about them. Belle was his wife. His family. And yet, they'd been married less than a week, and already he'd made her sleep alone twice for this plan.
It broke his heart to see her alone in their bed. The sheets were a wreck, as though she'd tossed and turned all night. She didn't do that when he slept with her. And it was well past the time that she usually would have been up and getting ready for work. But he was her alarm clock. Without him there, she'd just slept on, none the wiser.
All magic came with a price…
If this were a year ago, before Zelena, before Pan…this would be easy. He'd use his free time to do the work and research he needed to be doing. Now that he was wed and she was so insistent in staying with him at the store, not to mention always helping the people he was going to need to try and keep at a distance, that certainly added an element of difficulty to it that he hadn't expected or factored in last night. Then again, he hadn't done much factoring in of Belle last night at all. If he had, she wouldn't have been here alone. That had to stop.
If he was going to do this without truly giving in to his darker nature, then he had to make sure that everything he did was always for "them." It couldn't be all about him, not anymore. And leaving Belle to sleep alone while he worked…that was certainly all about him.
Maybe there was a way to fix it, a way to get some of their boundaries back. She didn't have to go work in the library, but maybe if he expressed that he needed some time alone in his shop to let his mind work, she'd trust him enough to go. That would most certainly allow him to spend his nights with her. And as for tonight…tonight, he had to make up for what he'd deprived her of.
He tossed his suit jacket at the foot of the bed, then carefully positioned himself beside her. He'd meant to stroke her hair and wake her but instead the motion itself seemed to startle her from a less than peaceful sleep. He knew it was less than peaceful because never in a million years would something as slight as that have brought her fully to consciousness.
"I'm sorry," he whispered as she rolled over. "I thought you'd be awake by now."
"What time is it?"
"Late enough for you to be up by now," he admitted apologetically.
"Were you up all night with that dirt?" she questioned with blurry eyes. Ah, yes…that was the immediate excuse that he'd given her last night. It was an excuse that was truthful, but it wasn't, of course, the entire story. However, for both their sakes, he felt no reason to give the entire story just yet.
"Yes…yes, I was."
"What are you wearing?"
"Oh, I uh…I went over to the shop at some point, and things got a bit dusty." Which wasn't entirely a lie. He did want to purge himself of the dust before he worked with the hat. "This was just what I had lying around."
But nevertheless, he heard her heartbeat suddenly race as sleep fled from her eyes. Danger. He'd made it sound too much like he'd been in danger. She was worried.
"I'm fine," he assured her, reaching for her cheek. "Nothing happened last night but I do want to speak with you about it and considering the time…perhaps you wouldn't mind if we went into town and took a walk first."
He raised his eyebrows expectantly. She always wanted to talk. And a talk about boundaries now that they were married seemed like a good conversation to have. It wasn't that he didn't want her around. He did! He just needed a little more space than she'd afforded him since he'd returned from…well…being gone.
She watched him skeptically at first, then eventually nodded and sat up in bed, giving him a hint of what he'd missed last night, but all the more motivation to get things done properly. A lifetime of this life was what he wanted. Now, he just had to figure out how to get it.

HIStory 3: MAKE OUR DAYS COUNT (2019)
WAYNE SONG (as Hao Ting)
&
HUANG CHUN CHIH (as Xi Gu)
Commentary: I can't say I hate this BL because in my opinion it was well written and well acted. I did not love everything about it but it was well done until the finale episode. I don't need to explain anyone who watched it will understand. It to me is not about what happened but rather how it was handled which was terrible. The acting from Wayne Song was amazing to me but still the last episode turned the tide on an otherwise great BL.

could you also recommend any untranslated works made by/about women? thank you for your previous recommendations, they made my day :)
yes absolutely!! finally a time to talk about some untranslated gems. kind of all over the place genre-wise, hope you don’t mind.
sunny sunny ann! by miki yamamoto — the transient, dynamic life of a freewheeling woman who lives in her car and refuses to play by the rules of conventional society, and the people she meets; told through a series of interconnected short stories across ann’s travels. trigger warning for sexual violence, particularly in the context of sex work.
amazones kiss by natsuko ishitsuyo — a wannabe fortune teller finds herself under the sexually-charged tutelage of the owner of an extrasensory perception training gym called “amazones kiss”, which uses BDSM to hone the spirituality of its members.
and then the heroines are gone by battan — an intergenerational friendship forms between two women left behind by their lovers, finding kinship and forming a uniquely empathetic support system through one another, with a particular emphasis on their contrasting perspectives and life experiences.
pale red tinged with grey by maki kusumoto — a family drama centered around eccentric, elderly synesthete kino, exploring how she experiences the world and how her unique sensory perspective impacts her relationships with those around her, among other things.
kofuku gokko by chihiro misaki — a tumultuous relationship develops between a woman and the mistress of the late father she despised after the two meet at his funeral. a complex melting pot of anger, grief, betrayal, empathy, and the human desire to seek closure.
shin kirari by murasaki yamada — a psychological exploration of a woman trying to reconcile her desire for autonomy, respect, and fulfilment within her role as a "housewife", rife with showa-era feminist social commentary.
new york chronicles by akino kondoh — a laid-back, slice-of-lifey autobiographical manga about kondoh’s day-to-day experiences and musings about living in new york city.

Do you have any other vampire media you like? Can you recommend?
oh man. oh shit oh fuck
i guess we can start with books,, (and i’m definitely NOT gonna go ahead and insintuate that all of these are available for free download on b-ok.org)
the vampire academy books by rachelle mead are just *chefs kiss* absolutely incredible. it’s well-written and there’s actually stakes and the characters are wonderful and there’s some excellent commentary on racism, class, and sexism. it’s funny and romantic and heartbreaking and sexy and i just can’t say enough good things about it. i’d also reccomend the spin-off books, the bloodlines series
the den of shadows series by amelia atwater rhodes is also incredible. dark and gritty and sexy. your 13-y/o selfs ideal books. they’re relatively short, you could probably finish the series in less than a week, but once you start reading them you’re not gonna wanna stop.
i haven’t read these in over a decade at this point probably so i don’t know if they’ll hold up but the chronicles of vladimir tod by heather brewer were my favorite books in middle school. half-vampire protagonist struggles middle school and high school while being pursued by villains. if harry potter was about a vampire
movies/tv
vampire diaries is a classic. the sexy supernatural cw teen drama of your dreams. if you like sabrina or riverdale or teen wolf this should be on your radar. ridiculously bingeable, especially in the fall time.
true blood. sexy, southern, hbo take on vampires etc. again, tackling themes of racism and power dynamics. available on prime video rn if you wanted to check it out
what we do in the shadows, both the movie and the tv show. a mockumentary about ancient vampires going about their lives in modern times. infinitely hilarious, witty and sharp writing, excellently acted in both the movie and tv show, who could forget the iconic you’re dead by norma tanega. flips convention on its head. instant classic. taika waititi at his absolutely best.
let the right one in, a swedish horror film, about a vampire who befriends a bullied teen boy. expertly crafted, delivers horror without stumbling and without relying on jump scares too much. not much to say here except try to watch the swedish version first before you watch the american version, let me in, which is not as good
blade, a superhero movie about a Black half-vampire. campy and fun and sexy. a popcorn film for sure, but you’re gonna have fun with it

51 and 30 + blupcretia,, post cycle 65?
Lucretia is on direct and strict orders to take it easy. Usually when she’s told that, she finds in herself the desire to keep working, to power through whatever the others have deemed incapacitating enough for her to stop. But after the year she’s had, she lets them fuss over her.
On top of being tired, she’s gotten clingy too— it’s like she’s emotionally without her morning coffee. Hugs are longer and more frequent, and no one really comments on them; they all get it, they’ve all had the impacts from cycles bleed into the next ones. She’s never felt more lucky to have Barry and Lup in her life. They hold her when she needs the contact, they console her when she randomly bursts into tears at resurfacing memories, they’re just there for her in a way she dearly missed over that year.
Even the littlest things leave butterflies in her stomach, like right now. Their bedroom is now what was Barry and Lucretia’s rooms, the wall knocked down and the beds pushed together. A second desk has been brought in so they can work simultaneously. They’re next to each other, against perpendicular walls, and Barry and Lucretia sit at them. He’s idly flipping through a book and she’s jotting down a small to-do list, and their free hands are intertwined between them. No words are spoken, as no words are needed; Lucretia simply enjoys feeling his touch in hers, and the occasional swipe of his thumb over her skin.
She really is going to take it easy this cycle, but she still has things to do. A chronicler’s work is never done, and she’s often busiest at the beginning of the cycle. She has to document the basics of this cycle— like planets, races, general geography— as well as their initial reactions, plans to get the Light, interactions with locals, things like that. Not to mention she has to write down the others’ experience in cycle sixty-five. (For her own part, she’s just going to write that she survived for the year. It might be lazy and selfish, but she’s not going to relive those memories for the sake of documenting them, not right now.) It’s a lot of work, but she’s going to take it slow, so she’s just starting with a list.
The door opens, and in steps Lup. Lucretia doesn’t look up, but she hears, “Okay, break time! Pencils down, babes.”
Lucretia lets hers fall to the table, dropping Barry’s hand to turn and face Lup, who has a tray of drinks with her, along with a bright smile that makes Lucretia’s heart warm.
“Taako made hot chocolate and I stole it so we could have a hot chocolate party,” Lup says, putting the tray on the edge of their bed and walking up to both of them, hands outstretched. “Now get away from the desks and into bed so we can cuddle.”
Lucretia chuckles, her and Barry taking Lup’s hands and letting her help them up. Lucretia takes a mug on her way to sitting down at the head of the bed, legs tucked under the blankets. Barry sits on one side and wraps one arm around her shoulders, his other hand cradling his own mug. Lucretia takes a sip and sighs at the warmth that she feels spreading through her body.
“Oh, that’s perfect,” she says, “Thank you, Lup.”
“Of course,” Lup says, sitting herself down on Lucretia’s other side with her own mug. She presses a kiss to Lucretia’s forehead, right along the edge of the beanie over her hair, before laying her head on Lucretia’s shoulder. Lucretia wraps her free arm around Lup’s waist.
“Yeah, this is really good,” Barry says, taking another quick sip. “I’ll have to… to thank Taako.”
“Later though,” Lup says, “Now we’re just chillaxin’.”
“Any special reason?” Lucretia asks, taking another sip.
“Nope!” Lup announces proudly. “I just know you two nerds get sucked into your work.”
“You do too,” Barry points out, and Lucretia nods.
Lup pouts a little. “Okay but right now I’m not. So I’m watching out for you.” She leans forward enough to stick her tongue out at Barry and he laughs.
“Plus,” Lup adds as she settles back into the embrace, a little nervous. “I wanna make sure you’re doing okay, Lucy.”
Lucretia smiles. She’s happy they’re looking out for her. “I’ll be fine.”
“Are you sure?” Barry asks, concern clear in his tone.
“Mmhm. As long as I have you two, I’ll be okay.”
“That’s sappy,” Lup says. She kisses Lucretia’s cheek and adds, “We’ll always be here for you.”
“That’s even sappier,” Barry says, “But uh, yeah.” He kisses her temple.
Lucretia smiles into her mug. “I know you will. Thank you.”
“You just— you haven’t talked about it much,” Lup says, “We’re always here to talk.”
Lucretia pauses, swallowing as well as thinking of her response. “I don’t think I’m ready to talk right now. I just want to drill it in my head that it’s over.”
Barry kisses her temple again. “Well, whenever you’re ready, y’know, you know where to find us.”
Lucretia nods. “Honestly? Just you being here has helped me so much. I was so… lonely and cold. You two are really warm, and I really love that about you.”
“Aww,” Lup says, “Lucy you’re gonna make me cry.”
She sits up enough to tilt Lucretia’s head into a kiss, and she tastes of chocolate and that same reviving warmth. Lucretia brings up a hand to cup Lup’s cheek and swipe a thumb across her cheekbone, though the tears seem to be an empty threat. Once the kiss breaks she leans her forehead against Lup’s and opens her mouth to say something, but all that comes out is a yawn.
“You tired?” Barry asks, rubbing a steady hand up and down her upper arm.
Lucretia nods, taking another sip from her mug. “A little.”
Lup puts down her mug and gently pries Lucretia’s from her hands. “I think you should sleep then.”
“Or I can mix hot chocolate with coffee,” Lucretia offers. “Doesn’t taste good, but it works.”
“No,” Lup says immediately, “We’re not doing that.”
“…Have you done that before?” Barry asks, sounding scared.
“How else would I have gotten through the university?” Lucretia asks, head turning from Barry to Lup and back like a tennis match. “I thought everyone did.”
“Oh, babe,” is all Barry says, putting down his own mug before helping Lucretia get under the covers.
“We lived off of coffee, yeah, but mixing them? Like some fucked up smoothie?” Lup looks absolutely bewildered as she stands. “You’re on your own there.”
“I wanted variety,” Lucretia mumbles. Now that she’s horizontal, her tiredness is even more apparent. Barry’s moving under the covers too, taking off his glasses then hers and laying them on the nightstand. She cuddles into his warm embrace.
“I kind of want to finish my book, though,” Barry says. Lucretia hums into his shoulder; too late for him, she’s not letting him go.
“I can read it to you, if you want,” Lup offers. She sounds like she’s stretching, and Lucretia even hears the sound of her back pop.
“You don’t have to do that,” Barry says.
“No I want to! I’m gonna give you nerds a bedtime story and you’re gonna like it.” Lucretia hears Lup walk to Barry’s desk and back, and she settles back on the bed, on Lucretia’s other side.
“Wow, you’ve gotten far in this, hon,” Lup says, mostly to herself, as she flips pages.
“You won’t even, like, understand what’s happening without context,” Barry says, and Lucretia feels it as much as she hears it. She sighs into his shirt, already half asleep. Barry’s hand starts to rub up and down her back.
“Yeah, there’s only… one more chapter ‘til you’re done,” Lup says, “Welp! Good thing I don’t care about spoilers, let’s go.”
She starts reading, pausing on strange words and adding her own commentary as she goes. She gives characters inaccurate voices that make Barry laugh, making herself laugh in turn.
Lucretia would laugh along, but she’s already asleep, warmly snuggled between her partners; it’s a feeling she was afraid of never experiencing again, and she’s never been happier to be wrong.
