Also female characters who hang out witj men get watered down SO often to that guys (girl) friend i see it all the time ESPECIALLY WITH CANDLE AND SILVER SPOON like guys please can we not. Can she be an indépendant character

ive only been in the osc for almost 3 years and saying that ive always felt sympathetic with taco is an understatement , you can clearly see that shes genuinely upset that mic left and not because she wanted to use her more, but because she actually LIKED her. She genuinely did care about her and this episode really does prove it and so many other things, this woman literally fucking SHATTERED when being too overwhelmed and people still have the gull to say that she was being manipulative, like please watch the episode again and maybe the entirety of s2 along with it

Also i dont remember the nickel joke very well but i do remember people being pissed off about it like it wasnt just a joke

and oh my GOD DO I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS, one of the main things that contribute to the mischaracterization of female osc chatacters is when they are involved with another character that just so happens to be a man, there are so many examples to this and i think the worst one is the silver n candle arc. I have made multiple threads about these two separately and they both have their own story arcs and their own personalities. Most people [ or shippers ] will just make the two of them be associated with eachother and call it a day, and it pisses me off cause their character are an important thing to understanding the character itself — without knowing or not caring ab those arcs and making those two just be with eachother could lead to even worse mischaracterization from there.

I cannot express enough on how many times ive made posts like this on other websites and it still happens, they are more than just '' Silver having a crush on candle and candle is just the helpful one '', they are so much more. Now dont get me wrong silvercandle is my absolute most favorite ship ever and i will defend them with my life, but ive seen people who hate it make both characters so mischaracterized i start to think that they are just talking about an oc. Even people who like them still sometimes just make them be associated with eachother and claim to know them like their bedroom, they are so much more than that — romantic or platonic, they still have their own story arcs that correlate with eachothers arcs

theres more female characters that get mistreated but ive only seen silvercandle get the worst treatment, every character is their own chatacter with their own goals, own beleifs, own arcs.

hi-ho! i'm rhubarb. i'm autistic. and a big fan of code lyoko. it's been a hyperfixation of mine on and off for a couple years now. aelita has ALWAYS been my favorite. her arc, her wit, her .. everything! yet there was always something.. different about her to me that i couldn't place.

that is.. that she's. REALLY relateable to the autistic experience. let's jump right into that.

first off. aelita's otherment from other human chatacters. yes, we learn aelita IS human. but even after learning that, aelita states feeling.. off, different. and, fuck, does that GET to me. it's very similar to how neurodivergent people often feel othered when around neurotypicals. that something is just.. wrong. that they don't belong, that they aren't being a person .. correctly, so to say

we even see aelita struggle with identifying tone / social cues, i.e. the multiple times sissi leads aelita into trouble by lying to her (like when telling her there's another shower upstairs, but refraining from saying that is the boy's shower). not only is she struggling, but sissi continues to laugh at aelita's failures. she IS being othered.

aelita, in a sense.. is having to "learn how to be human" again. that is. ..learn.... social norms. like how many neurodivergents often attempt to mask. this gets to her, too — we see aelita run BACK to lyoko because she's so damn stressed about it. she wants to go to HER normal.

ive also seen aelita's love of things like dj-ing as a hyperfixation of sorts. this one is hard to explain, but .. it was relateable to me to watch her gain a passion she loved so deeply.

my favorite part? when her character develops. we don't see aelita become.. "normal". we see her become CONFIDENT. we see her learn how to cope with her differences, learn how to THRIVE. she stays just as witty, as "weird", but accepts those parts of her and matures. it's.. something a younger me really needed. to watch her grow up and be.. okay. that despite it all, there's nothing WRONG with aelita. in fact, she's really damn cool.

i don't.. think aelita was written with such a subtext in mind. i don't think it was on purpose for her to fit so nicely into these boxes. and i don't think every autistic (or other neurodivergent) person will feel the same. yet. she was there for me. and was so, so important to me. people don't have to hc her as on the spectrum, but god, i sure do.

i love when chatacters, even on accident, can provide this for people. if you have a character like this, id love to hear about it in the tags / comments / reblogs etc!!!

In truth I started writing characters I felt I had a better handle on. I find Ace to be the most relatable. I think he's the most like someone you could potentially meet, maybe other than Law. Someone who is confident and self loathing and insecure and smart and dumb and self assured and all of that wrapped in a cute bundle with freckles. I also find Ace easy to write because I do feel that I've met people like him in real life, so I think of the dumb shit they would do lol. He reminds me a lot of a few of my friends, maybe that's why I feel protective over him.

That isn't a very good answer, but in summary he's my bby and I want the best for him <3.

Jinbe is who I'd actually want to ship myself with (see self indulgent fic) and I'd most want to be friends with and spend the day with Usopp.

Uhhhhh List of actors I see as certain killer frequency characters. Not all of them because I only have a couple face claims

I dont know a lot of actors because most times I just enjoy the movies instead of paying attention to a lot of the names behind them, which may be an issue but Unless im really into something I typically just enjoy it and move on.

I also know some of these people are kind of obscure, I watch a lot of Random movies and shows and sort of just picked up characters that immediately made me think of killer frequency characters.

Marie Campbell- Jodhi May, I feel like she could perfectly portray maries sort of character well especially after her performance as Queen calanthe! Shes really good at showing off female rage and I think that she would really shine if she put herself “under the mask” hehe.

Sandra Sharpe - Cara Buono, Im sorry Ive always seen Sandra as looking kind of like Mikes mom in stranger things. It just works for her so well that I cant help it.

Henry Barrow - Finn wolfhard. I really hate giving this kid anyone conventionally attractive but I honestly think that it could work for him- so I wanted to settle for someone relatively younger. I almost chose James Russell because of his performance in “the boy” but I think he looks a little too old for Henry.

Carrie - Young Winona Ryder. I say young winona ryder simply because the second I heard Carrie speak for the first time my first thought went to ‘Veronica Sawyer’ from heathers. I feel like after her performance as Veronica she could make a really good Carrie. I could also see Tessa Thompson making a PERFECT Carrie after Her performance in annihilation.

Peggy Weaver - this one was really hard, Peggy I personally cant see as white, But Mariecampbellenjoyer pointed out as well that her canon design looks a lot like Ellen Ripley from alien. Now I cannot unsee her as young Sigourney Weaver, But if I were to choose someone else I think America Ferrera, she has peggys face and I think could really pull off her positive attitude!

Teddy Gallows JR II- Toby Regbo, That man can play a woman hater so well and I saw it in the last kingdom. He also has a good face for teddy, and with a new haircut I honestly think that it could work pretty well. Honestly the guy is just so good at playing male characters that are JERKS to women.

Forrest Nash - Would yall be mad if I said David Harbour? I feel like He usually plays big tough chatacters but I would honestly adore seeing him as forrest. I think that he just fits the role of forrest really really well.

Hi, its exactly what the title says. I discovered fictionkins like 2 days ago and really identify with a lot of it. Ive talked to fictionkins and others and a lot of them think its really sounds like kinshifting and such. I'll just lay out what I feel the best I can:

I often dont view myself as myself, if that makes sense. Why im upset or feeling certain emotions, I feel like a different person. Usually intense emotions like sadness or anger. When im feeling like this, I often view myself as a certain chatacter (said character tends to change based on the feeling). A few years ago I had a thing called "Vent monster" which was meant to be a characterization of my pain and suffering. Vent monster was always in the form of one certain chatacter who identified with a lot. Just in my regular day ive felt like one certain character, and I can only describe as feeling what I think she would. This comes with things that I consider out of character for me, but very in character for them. This also applies to my feelings of others in her source. Ive so been referring to myself as multiples recently ("we arent feeling good" ect.) But that may just be me.

Ive always had a strong connection to this character since I entered the fandom. I fell out of the fandom and forgot about her for awhile, but ive recently entered that fandom again and the connection is even deeper/stronger. Ive been doing a lot of research on fictionkins and synpaths and such. While I syn other characters the connection with her feels a lot different, as well with other characters. I think its a copingkin, but also think it could be spiritual?

Im really new to this so sorry if I used some terms wrong. Im really looking for some advice and resources and others opinions on it. Ive heard its okay to be wrong about it, but I really dont want to claim something I might not be and offend someone. Please be kind in your responses (if any)! Thank you for reading!!

Do you have any headcanons regarding Seto and Shintaro's relationship? Mine is that Shintaro actively looks up to Seto as a great guy an friend and someone who inspires him to grow as better person (definitely not me projecting lmaoo) and Seto notices it even if Shintaro doesn't says anything about it, and tries to encourage him to hang out with the gang more and be less of a shut in antissocial. Our Honey Choice from the Sweet Anthology gave me brainrot regarding their friendship and Seto doing his best to help Shintaro improve is too sweet for me and i can see it happening in my delusional mind (i want to dream)

I think anthologies are where seto gets the most love honestly. i love how everyone's always gushing over him!! our honey choice is a great example (also awesum shinene moment where shintaro says "im indebted to her" i always thought he was gonna say he'd like to buy her something...but whatever sniff sniff)(sorry if i dont mention ene i die) and also the great white day strategy where shintaro follows seto around while he gives back for white day!! and idr the name of this one, but it's one where the dan is all choosing what they'd be in a videogame setting. and they all say seto would be the prince/knight LOL

ANYWAYS SETO AND SHINTARO yeah!!!i agree, shintaro would look up to seto. even in the novels he comments something about seto being really normal LOL i think shintaro wants to identify so hard with being an unemployed idiot loser and he sees seto, Prince Like, Buff, Employed, Handsome, Naturally Just Really Nice and shintaro's like AUUYHGHFJFHH but i think if they ever have a heart to heart abt it seto would be like Comparing yourself is violent... you don't need to try to be like someone else just be comfortable in ur skin.... just fucking dazzling him and shintaro's like Oh my god.

I'm practicing dice making specifically because I want a dnd dice set that's kirin tor themed for myself but then i thought. Well. Ive never found any wow dice sets before at all, so would others be interested in that too or just me?

Ive been working on some very For Me designs, like dmmd related ones, d.gray-man, even ones for specifically my dnd chatacters themselves. But I'd like to make other things at some point too. Nothing is actually done yet, its all in the sketch phase until I can actually get my hands on some resin.

I'm also doing a personal project of making Wooden dice too, just because i think its fun. I also plan to make jewelry from failed one off dice pieces (like a full set i make has something happen to a dice to make it incomplete, i would then use the rest of then to create other things with. Like earrings. I also have these cool little mini charms i could set in the resin, that have a jewelry hoop in them. I've made a "crane" out of popsicle sticks and string to keep the charms elevated in the resin and to stop the hole from sinking into the resin, disallowing the chain to be thread through.

I am SO close to finishing Baldur's Gate 3... I think, I've been saying that for the past 20 hours lol, but I really want to gush about Karlach! Once I've actually finished the game I'll probably make a proper post talking about her in a more structured way from a disability standpoint but I just really want to talk about her now lol.

I did not know how much my inner child needed to see someone like her on screen. Strange thing to say about a character from a game that's intro features worms crawling into your eye in hell but its true.

I have massive burn-like scars all over my my lower body, especially my legs, and while I always (mostly) saw the amputations they came with as just a part of me, I had much more negative feelings about those scars, well into my young adulthood, but especially as a teenager. It wasn't helped by the fact that while most folks had the decency to keep their comments about my visible disability... neutral-ish, the comments about my scars ranged from "you should cover those up" to "that's discusting" and young children literally crying at the sight of them. On top of that, every time a character with scars like mine was in the media, they were either the villain, used to teach others a lesson about not being mean or to teach that chatacter a lesson about how beauty is on the inside or how to love their appearance despite thier scars (that they'll be sure to tell you they think are hideous).

But karlach isn't any of those things. She's confident and literally walks around armour that show her scars by default. No one calls her gross or tells her to cover them. Her scars are never brought up as a negative at all, at least that ive seen, they're never something that detracts from her appearance. She never tries to hide them or gets insecure about them. When you romance her, there's no comment about if you're sure you can find "someone with scars like hers" attractive. Characters in the game dont find her attractive in spite of them, they just find her attractive. Full stop. They're just, there. And what's more, the fandom, for the most part, seems to agree. I have seen so many people swooning over her, and they almost never bring the scars up. People don't care, they just think she's hot! (There will always be outliers of course but they seem few and far between in my circles at least lol).

And my God, it's SO refreshing! Don't get me wrong, it's not inherently bad to have chatacters be insecure about things like scars (Wyll has a few moments of insecurity around his, and I think it's done well) but it's so nice for it to not be the central focus for once, or even really a big at all. Especially for a woman character.

I was so convinced as a teenager that no one would find me attractive because of those scars. Scars like Karlach's. I'm older now, I have worked through it all, and any lingering insecurities I had on the subject were shut down when me and my partner got together. But 15/16 year old me desperately needed to see a chatacter like Karlach, and im so happy she exists now!

that reminds me. ive been playing around w/ some other characters in Pastex who I can multilate to finally give Day a break. I've got the inklings of two or three characters rn, people who Day works with. He's organ seller, but really he's part of a TEAM of organ sellers and all he does is take them out of the bidy and store them properly. There's gotta be other people for handling the actual selling, yk? It's a very formal business.

So. Firstly we have Marty's brother. I'm considering making his name Robbin and choosing a new last name for the both of them because. funnies. Anyway. he doesnt actually help Day at all they're just pals. He's Marty's yojnger brother by about eight years, making him just a bit younger than Day. He works together with Marty in thr clinic and keeps the social guards off their scent- he's a really popular guy, one of those people who gets along with everyone, so he's got a lot of connections.

He's the one that designed Day's prosthetic btw!! + had the connectiond to get ppl to make it. They met either when Marty introduced him to Day for that specific purpose (Day had been using a makeshift one until that point) OR when he had a longer stay in the clinic after a particularly bad injury. Either way, he's probably Day's closest friend- if you can really call them that, he keeps everyone at an arms length.

The other characters are way less developed. I'm thinking both how they can relate to Day and organ selling, but also their role in the larger story of the coup. I've mostly been thinking abt a sorta strategist? Before Yoki joins and kickstarts the events they'd probably have been the one actually selling the stuff/finding buyers. If im so fr I've been so busy trying to thubk of a short hairstyle for them (I have too many long haired characters .....) that I havent thought much abt their personality or backstory. I'm thinking they might be like... Day's motivatuon for stagung a coup is basically exclusjvely to destroy Koro through any means, but this character might be motivated by curiousness abt it? How it functions? That could be a good way to introduce the fact that Koro compiles human brains to "think" .

Alternatively, I also like the idea of a really optimistic character who I can later break? I'm a huge fan of that trope, and we can't really see it played out with Ico or Billy since one dies too soon and the other is already accustomed to the harshness of the world. Maybe I can change around Ico's personality a bit and still use that....

Now that ive had some time to think about it, here are my less knee jerk reactions to Dr. Doom.

Put simply, pros and cons, this is great for a Single(or 2 part) story, not for anything else.

Pros(all aplicable to RDJ only being in Doomsday and Secret War):

No need to describe Doombots. The Ultron Drones and the Iron Legion both are established and could easily make for and epic final battle against a massive army of Doombots. This may sound small, but setting up the final action set piece of the movie is important.

Potential pathos from Peter, Rhodey, Thor, Etc. conflicted about the similarities.

Potential Pro or Con:

Magic. MCU has not shyed away from magic. Tony and Strange had great chemistry in Infinity War, so making RDJ's Victor sorcerer supreme would be easy and great for the story. Please don't disregard the magic like the last 2 Dooms.

Cons:

Limits his further use. I wanted Doom for his own Saga. To do a Loki style build up to the Avengers movie, but instead he's a done in one(in half). And he was no preestablished like Loki, Thanos, or Kang.

Which also means his backstory will be limited. Victor has such an interesting backstory to be explored. Not even looking at runtime, a new actor allows audiences to explore a characters history fresh. A repeat casting: pro: makes people familiar and comfortable with the chatacter. And con: makes people comfortable with the character.

I don’t think RDJ has the right natural voice for the character. Tjis is always tough because, ykkoew, qord balloons, but RDJs voice did perfectly match my comic reading voice. Doom on the pther hand, has a more regal, more dramatic, more Shakespearean voice, i would look for from a: David Tenant, Patrick Stewart, Giancalo Esposito, Ian McShane, that style of big, pay attention to me voices, while RDJ is more of a casual, natural sounding charasmatic quick witted voice. More suited to a comeback than a monologue.

Okay, that's it. Thats your homework RDJ. Next announcement we get better come with a certified Ser Doctor Victor Von Doom Esquire King of Latveria Master of Science and Sorcery style monologue reading fron RDJ. If he can't do a good Shakespearean monologue, then he isnt Doom.

Fic talk

Currently resisting the urge to post the first few chapters of 'cots' (i think im going to use q different acronym after i actually post it).

Ive mentioned a million times before how when i posted ihiap i was going through some shit and i needed a source of dopamine and random strangers on the internet praisingnyour writing and characters is such a wonderful source of dopamine.

But ihiap was all very impulsive and i didnt know what the plot is until like chapter 30 of the first book and i love it sm but i also hate it with a burnjng passion like its ridiculous. Theres so many plot holes and details that dont make sense and events that are just really dumb and that i regret sm. like i really love ihiap as a plot and chatacters and themes and relationships and such but 17 year old me just wasnt doing it justice.

Another thing about ihiap is that its the first long project ive done. Like ive made so many short stories and snippets of longer projects but ihiap is the first time i like, worked out a plot and character development and such. There was so many different things that i didnt realize i didnt know how to do until ihiap. For example balancing side characters and main characters and main plots vs side plots. Also pacing. Also characterization. But since i learned more about that stuff im more confident in it. Like everything i hate about ihiap i did because of inexpierience and stuff. Obviously fanfic is just a fun hobby and not anything serious so it really isnt that deep. But like PEOPLE STILL READ THAT SHIT STOP ITA!!!

this post is definetly following my whole "make a post about cots and then talk about ihiap most of the time" thing.

Anywho, because of that stuff im much more confident in cots and that ill actually be able to tell the story in a morenput together and comprehensible way. So im very excited about it.

But i think im.overcompensating a lot. Like i refuse to post this until i have every last detail plotted and written down. No plot holes nothing.

Cots is actually based on an ihiap au that i plotted out an actual (non fanfic) story for and then redid it again to get cots. So like an alternative universe of an alternate universe of an alternate universe of atla.

Sokkas the "main" protagonist in it but the first book is zuko centric more so. The second book is sokka centric and the third book is both.

But (like i said) sokkas the protagonist, zukos probably the deuteragonist and azula, katara, and aang are all tritagonists.

Azula is somehow the most put together one in the series.

But its a mix of a lot of different tropes. (The swt and zuko trope ofc is there its my favorite) but its a lot more complex than ihiap.

Everything is a lot more complex than ihiap actually. Like i cant figure this shit out.

Some ihiap ocs are making an appearance (not nankin) (the more backroundish ones) and theyre always fun.

I really love my ocs and i think its really funny how theyre simutaneously my most critisized and praised things about ihiap.

Cots has been something ive been working on for about a year now 💀💀 and im really hoping to get it put out by the end of the year but well see

Ive said this on here before but i also think its funny how my fics follow age order pshychology. Like ihiap is my first and i love her sm but ill be damned if i dont want to just delete her sometimes and pretend she never happened. I always forget about totp and she only has 2 chapters up despite being posted like two years ago. Cots is my baby shes my pride and joy and can do no wrong. (Yes all my fics are girls)

its mostly women too for some damn reason , women in the osc get treated so horribly its actually unbelievable . Like for example marshmallow for example , in fanon shes this sweet delicate butterfly sweetheart who wouldnt hurt a soul – meanwhile in canon shes actually very rude and kinda selfish

ive seen her get the absolute worst treatment in the ii community i dont even know how to describe it , and this episode literally shows us that shes not a cold manipulative heartless monster who only used others to win . she has genuine feelings and has genuine regret and guilt for what she did

this goes for a bunch of other chatacters too and i could go on and on about how horribly mischaracterized most of them are , usually to appeal to the audience on how people want them to be like or taking what morraly grey thing they did and blowing it way out of proportion

so in other words : the osc has the most agonizing media literacy [ none ]
