i can’t thank you enough for your amazing notes, i am in love. special thanks to you for noticing the poem, you’re the first to comment on it (and you googling it made me crack up honestly, but yeah, i’d probably do the same) <3
also publish a book asap so that I can throw money at you.
NO. I said it first to you... so you do it and i’ll follow, remember? but i love the second half of this comment so much, and i’m still grinning when I write this, because, babe, you know, you don’t need to wait for a published book to throw money at me (and suddenly the urge to become a stripper is back)
awww andra I absolutely loved reading your theories, they're so interesting!! personally, I have a love-hate relationship with amnesia tropes because they always frustrate me as a reader. so, I didn't want to put you through the same experience. the unfamiliarity of the village is indeed because it belongs to another clan (I read that some clans like the tipani have multiple individual villages in different locations within the forest/jungle and I kinda wanted to play with the idea). I intentionally left it open for interpretation, but in my perspective, it was neteyam's brilliant idea to go there at the last minute due to the reader's worsening condition and the shorter distance compared to their own village; I also wanted to hint at the fact that neteyam is well-liked by everyone, including other clan leaders who praise him and speak warmly of him, which is why it only makes sense that he receives help from everyone whenever he needs it. in this scene world-building was a bit struggling since I tried to write it through her eyes (which is probably the main reason of the confusion) but I learned from it and I’ll do a better job at explaining in chapter two.
I’m back to being confused, and i love it
I hope this confusion regarding that part is resolved after finishing the chapter. in this scene, I tried to emphasize the information asymmetry between neteyam and the reader because they are literally talking past each other, missing crucial pieces of information lollll
THANK YOU SO MUCH ANDRA I LOVE YOU MORE AND YOU ARE LITERALLY THE QUEEN OF MOTIVATION BECAUSE CH. 2 IS ALMOST FINISHED NOW BECAUSE OF YOU!!!
p.s. you figured out the four syllable sentence so quickly wooowwww I’d say I am impressed but you’re andra, of course you’re gonna figure it out đŸ„Žâ™„ïž

in the depths of my mind, I kept you hidden,  a treasure too priceless to be revealed,  for your soul is pure, your beauty unbidden,  a rose in the fields, unconquered, unconcealed.
On the night when it all began, the sky stretched above, clear and serene, while a gentle breeze rustled through the air. The moon, a slender crescent, cast its ethereal glow upon the dense forests of Pandora, drawing intricate shadows upon the tents nestled amidst the towering trees. Its radiance danced upon the still surface of the deserted lake, while the forest itself seemed adorned with a tapestry of fallen leaves and meandering vines.
Your body felt weak, your heartbeat faltered, its rhythm growing feeble, and your pulse felt strangely sluggish. With a heavy sigh escaping your lips, you sank down onto the ground, your trembling hands finding their way to the tangles of your hair. The wind, mischievous in its playful dance, toyed with the fabric of your loincloth and the flowers and feathers that adorned your form, teasing and loosening a single strand from the intricately braided locks that Kiri had graced with delicately handcrafted beads that evening.
With a desperate gesture, you pressed the balls of your hands firmly against your closed eyes, seeking respite from the world. Colors of light and dark swirled in a dizzying dance behind your lids, creating a kaleidoscope of sensations. The sharp pain that had taken residence above your temples intensified, causing another low, pained sigh to escape from your chapped lips as if carrying the weight of your weariness.
You heard your name before you felt his hand on your arm, his knee touched yours and for a brief moment, your heart almost completely stopped. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him yet; your eyes were strangely veiled as if they were watering. “What’s going on?”
There was an uncomfortable metallic taste in your mouth, and you carefully put your hand to your lips, only to discover the crimson evidence of blood trickling on your lips from your nose. Images of that night were difficult to push aside anyway, but in connection with the headache, it was almost impossible to suppress the onslaught of memories.
You cursed under your breath, your voice cracked and feeble, as you looked up at Lo'ak with an awkward expression.
“Bro—” Lo'ak’s voice trailed off as his eyebrows shot up, his gaze shifting to the blood on your hand and then on your face. Swiftly, he retrieved a cloth that was secured to his side near his hunting knife. “Take this, it’s clean. I only used it to polish my knife.”
Gratefully, you accepted the cloth and pressed it against your nose to stem the bleeding.
“You need to see Tsahìk,” he said softly, his eyes fixed on your profile.
“That's—” you began to protest, but the pain cut through your words. It hit you suddenly and with greater intensity than before, almost violently, leaving you gasping for breath. You attempted to stand, but your knees gave way, and you slumped down. Lo'ak struggled to keep you upright, his arms straining to support you.
“You have to see Tsahìk,” he repeated, and you could only weakly shake your head. Blood trickled down your chin in thin lines, dripping onto the edge of your upper piece, leaving dark-red stains on the feathers. “You’ve been feeling unwell all evening. I’m worried about you.”
That’s how he was, Lo'ak Sully. Caring and considerate, not towards everyone, actually towards no one, but towards a selected few, including you. Instead of enjoying the celebration held in his honor, he had barely left your side throughout the evening. Even now, he preferred sitting with you rather than accepting another drinking challenge. In two days, he would embark on another journey to the Eastern Sea as the Tulkun Season was about to begin, and you wouldn’t be able to see him for a long, long time. Actually, you should be grateful; missing him would only be temporary, and you would have something to look forward to. Five years ago, when you thought you would never see the Sully’s again, it looked quite different. Back then, external circumstances had forced them to leave your clan and seek shelter far away in the East, leaving you with a void deep inside you. Fortunately, those external circumstances had been resolved by now, and Lo'ak, he was both Omatikaya and Metkayina now, being the bridge between the two clans, with the tattoo on his side below his cummerbund serving as proof. You were very proud of him and loved listening to his stories about his other friends and adventures. However, the farewell was close, meaning until his return in six moons, you would miss him, so much.
“You’re drunk,” you managed to say with difficulty. Speaking was incredibly hard for you, and the words felt fragile on your lips. “The village is over an hour away. And I won’t let you fly; I’d rather die a wretched death out here.”
“As charming as ever,” Lo'ak muttered but secretly agreed. “Y/n, I
Can you stand up?” Of course, you couldn’t. He presumably realized that in the next moment. “I’m going to quickly run back to the party, and you’ll wait for me to return, okay? I’ll hurry, I promise. Do you understand me?”
Your nod came seconds too late; he had already headed back toward the direction of loud music and youthful laughter. The vibrations reached the ground, shaking the earth beneath you. You could faintly hear Kiri’s laughter as someone played the blue flute in the background. The spots danced before your eyes without you having to close them, and while the pain in your temples had eased, every sudden movement felt like your skull was about to explode.
A small group of young Na'vi passed by on the other side, maybe ten meters away from you, laughing and drinking while heading straight into the forest, but without noticing you; two couples, maybe a year or two older than you, with their hands clasped and bottles sharing.
The following thought brought a crooked smile to your lips and, inexplicably, tears to your eyes. But it was true. Pathetic as it may seem at first glance, all you wanted was to be truly loved, to have your mate by your side; a man with a strong heart who would love you like Jake loved Neytiri, who would call you beautiful even in the mornings when you woke up with messy hair and a puffy face; who would create a safe haven in his arms, where you could be vulnerable and share your deepest secrets; who would make you laugh with his infectious sense of humor, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories; who would hold your heart in his hands and cherished it as if it were his own, loving you unconditionally, flaws and all, reminding you that you are enough. Sometimes, more than anything, you wished for that to happen. And on those days, even Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan seemed somewhat attractive with his fleeting, almost coy smile directed towards yet another girl.
Another girl, yes. By now you were convinced that not just the girls but your whole clan had developed a crush, no matter how tiny or big, on the golden boy, and he liked that, of course, he did, he loved the attention and praise from almost anyone; almost, leaving you to possibly be the only person in the whole village who he wouldn’t willingly exchange a word with. Not that you minded, on the contrary, you’d never gotten along with Neteyam since you were kids and you knew that it was mutual.
It wasn’t that you had never been in love before, experiencing the euphoria and joy of a promising and fulfilling future ahead. But once your heart had been shattered, it became challenging for you to trust in someone else’s words, no matter how beautifully spoken. This is why stepping out of your comfort zone felt incredibly difficult for you.
“We’re back,” Lo'ak’s voice interrupted your thoughts, and as he helped you up, you realized who we referred to. Indeed, Neteyam Sully stood before you, holding the saddle for his ikran, and looked down at you, almost with a hint of pity.
“Why him of all people?” you grumbled, giving Lo'ak a weary glance. You felt like tears were ready to spill at any moment. “What about Kiri?”
“I didn’t want to interrupt Kiri in her debate on equality versus equity against that flute guy. Plus, Neteyam is probably the only one around here who isn’t too drunk to fly.”
“No one?” you exclaimed, unable to hide your disbelief. However, before you could receive a proper answer, Neteyam himself lifted you onto his ikran, who rested a few meters away beneath the canopy of flower trees, alongside the other majestic creatures. With a swift motion that would typically have prompted an eye roll of annoyance — your current state sadly left no room for such sentiments — he positioned himself right behind you, his presence uncomfortably close, your thighs almost touching. He gently patted his ikran on the head to greet her, before he encircled your waist with his arms in a way that made your back lean onto his torso. And then, with a profound connection, he established a swaheylu bond with his ikran.
“Hold on tight,” he whispered to you and nodded toward a slightly lost-looking Lo'ak behind your shoulder. His voice trembled slightly, almost imperceptibly, as he continued. “I may not be fond of you, but I really don’t want to bear the responsibility for your death. Got it?”
That night was the moment when you first grasped the gravity of the situation, realizing that it was indeed something serious.
∟⋄∟⋄∟⋄∟
When Neteyam, as carefully and gently as he could, lifted you off his ikran right in front of a village that seemed unfamiliar to you and carried you with quick, firm steps into one of the tents in his arms, the night air suddenly seemed terribly cold and biting, and you realized you weren’t home. All the words on your lips vanished into the darkness, and you seemed even too weak to cry.
He whispered reassuring words to you, told you he had to bring you to the nearest village he could find, looked at you with so much concern in his eyes that you were sure you were hallucinating, asked you to try and stay awake as long as you could, but as soon as you had entered the tent, everything seemed to flow into a single moment. After Neteyam formally introduced himself, an elderly woman with red feathers in her hair told him to carry you right after her, anything else would have been a waste of time. She asked him a lot; your name, your age, what had happened that evening, whether anything like that had happened before.
You were almost surprised at how collected he was and how many of the questions he was able to answer so quickly, but actually it was only logical – he also spent as much time with Lo'ak as you did, so you, too, couldn’t help but learn a lot about the oh-so-legendary Neteyam Sully. As if that mattered.
Inside the tent, there was an unusual calmness, contrary to your expectations. In your own clan, Tsahìk’s tent was always bustling with activity, filled with people seeking healing or simply enjoying each other’s company. But in this clan, it felt different. It was quieter, almost serene, yet it carried an air of solitude. You couldn’t help but notice a middle-aged man seated on one of the mats, his head buried in his hands as if he were anxiously awaiting something. Or someone. Next to him, a little girl lay with a peaceful face, seemingly asleep.
You really had no clue why this man of all people was stuck in your mind so clearly – this inconspicuous man, the only steadfast memory of that night.
The night when it all began.
The last thing you felt was Neteyam’s hand on yours. Then everything went black and the only thing that remained was the picture of golden eyes and the man in the healing tent.
Vawm na txon. As dark as the night.
∟⋄∟⋄∟⋄∟
When you felt his fingertips on your wrist, you involuntarily winced and looked up. “Hey, Lo'ak,” you muttered, and he immediately pulled you into a gentle hug and kissed your hairline. His voice sounded hoarse and rough and the bittersweet smell of sweet yovo fruit mixed with a bit of salt hung on his skin; and heaven, you would have loved to never let go of him again.
For a moment he just looked at you in silence and frowned before he sat across from you on the grass. Lo'ak started to say something, but his voice failed and a low sigh caught in the air around you.
“You look tired.” You almost laughed, and it didn’t even feel wrong. You look tired. Tuk had said the same thing earlier that morning while sitting in front of her herbal tea and half of Neytiri’s infamous sari seed bread. She had preferred eating her morning meal in her grandmother’s tent, because you were there too, not for relaxation, but to drink the disgusting mixture Mo'at prepared for you every single morning for the last three moons. Uttering those words, Tuk had even cast the same concerned look at you, with the same worried expression on her freckled, delicate face, just like her older brother was doing now, and it had almost broken your heart.
“I didn’t sleep well last night, that’s all.”
When he said your name, admonishing with a sigh, his voice quivered, teetering on the edge of concern, before he hesitantly continued, “Are you
 okay?“
His unspoken words hung heavy in the air, etched upon his countenance. You could see the unvoiced questions etching lines of worry upon his face, ’In the past few moons you haven’t gotten back to me or anyone else, nor did you answer a single radio call, I tried to reach out to you several times, but you ignored me, you never asked to speak to me, and when my family sent you my greetings you just smiled and made promises that you never intended to keep, nothing.’ yet they remained trapped within the confines of his sealed lips. The restrained inquiry and underlying disappointment were palpable, like a suppressed ache that threatened to consume him; and deep down, you knew his effort to withhold his concerns only magnified your own pain, intensifying the weight of his unspoken concerns.
"You’re my best friend,” he finally just said and ran his hand through his already chaotic braids.
At the same moment, out of pure impulse, you brushed a tangled strand of hair from your face. You had already heard last week that Lo'ak and Kiri would return early to transport some rations from here to Awa'atlu, thanks to Max and Norm who had decided to expand their labs to the Eastern Sea. At the same time, you didn’t want to get too excited because they would only stay for a maximum of one week before being away for three more moons. Nevertheless, you had missed him. Every day since that party and their department two days later, you had thought of the moment he and Kiri left for the Eastern Sea, how he had briefly refused to leave until you were feeling better, how hard it was for you and his parents to convince him that everything was alright; how Lo'ak had promised to check in on you over the radio every evening just before the eclipse, how he had kept his promise, but you hadn’t, and how you were contemplating telling him what had happened in those three months since he was gone, too anxious of his reaction; even more than the one time you had to make an important decision almost ten cycles ago:
“Why is he so mean? His radio code name is Pathfinder, and he has the audacity to criticize mine? He called me Plain Grandma, can you believe that!?”
“He also called you Slow Vipertail which is far worse in my eyes,” Lo'ak had commented dryly.
“Shut up, Eagle Eye!” you had crossed your arms in front of your chest, pouting, “What is so bad about Stargirl?”
“No offense but it couldn’t be any girlier."
"Well, I am a girl.”
“But do you want the enemy to know that?"
"I thought our frequency was secure?”
“You never know with them.” When you had continued to pout, Lo'ak had nudged you encouragingly with his elbow, “Come on, you can be Silent Thunder if you like.”
“Isn’t that what you call your farts?” Kiri, who had remained completely silent during your discussion, was the one who had made that comment. You had made a disgusted face in response.
“Okaaay,” Lo'ak had groaned, “Then be anything but Stargirl, Eywa, just choose something or I’ll do it for you. Remember, your code name sticks with you forever.”
In the end, the discussion had dragged on for so long that during the evening meal, the two of you had managed to irritate every clan member within a two-meter radius. Jake had taken it upon himself to bring it to a close and gave you your personal radio code name, which you cherished to this day. Not because it had come from your former Olo'eyktan, but from a person you loved and respected like your own father; it was more than an honor to you.
You looked at him now, at Jake’s identical copy, a bittersweet smile forming at the corners of your mouth, tinged with nostalgia. His eyes were like the early sun rays that morning at Tsahìk’s tent; two orbs of amber with irregular, whitish spots of cream – strange that this, of all things, crossed your mind at that second.
“Eagle Eye to Skyracer,” he playfully nudged your knee in an attempt to lighten the mood, “Come on, tell me why you avoid me.”
And then, then you said it out loud; a single little sentence of four syllables, and his once sunlight-radiating eyes were covered by lids streaked with fine, pale blue veins, holding a glimmer of melancholy, like a fading sunset.
“Please, no,” he whispered, his voice filled with sadness, as you sought comfort in the embrace of his arms, burying your head in the crook of his neck. Salty tears mingled with your lips as you clung to each other, his fingers interlacing with yours, a desperate grip that turned his knuckles almost white, the weight of the impending fate pressed upon you both.
As the realization settled within him, Lo'ak let go of you and collapsed onto the grass, his shoulders shaking with uncontrollable sobs and trembling with the intensity of his emotions. You immediately wrapped your arms around him again, wanting to share his emotions, knowing that this pain was as much his as it was yours, while the air around you seemed heavy with helplessness as the two of you sat there, engulfed in the depths of your shared pain.
“No!” he cried out all of a sudden, his voice choked on his tears. Saliva glistened on his quivering lips, his breath was ragged and uneven; and his eyes, bloodshot and filled with more unshed tears, refused to accept the harsh reality you just told him.
“Why? Why you?” Lo'ak’s voice cracked as the words escaped through clenched teeth. His fists clenched tightly, nails digging into the ground beneath you, as if trying to anchor himself to the pain, refusing to accept the meaning behind your words. His tears mingled with yours as you still held him close, feeling his agony reverberate through your own heart.
Lo'ak’s voice was laced with raw fury. “This can’t be happening! It’s not fair!”
The wind whispered through the grass, carrying the echoes of his anguish across the desolate landscape, but leaving his voice hanging in the air. The setting sun, a silent witness to the unraveling of two intertwined souls, cast its pale light upon the scene, casting long shadows around you.
Lo'ak’s emotions gave way to desperate pleas, his voice cracking with desperation. “Please, there must be a way. I’ll talk to my dad, he
 he can
” he choked on his tears once more, “Anything. I’ll give anything.”
You stroked his trembling cheek, tears flowing freely down your own face. “I know you would. But sometimes, there are forces beyond our control, Lo'ak, I need you to understand that.”
Lo'ak’s resistance crumbled, his body sinking into a heap of devastation. His nose ran, mingling with the tears streaming down his face. He clung to you, a lifeline in the midst of a tempestuous sea, refusing to let go even as the waves crashed around him.
The evening wore on, its grey hue mirroring the somberness of your hearts. There were no words that could ease the ache or undo the cruel fate, so, you remained there, seeking comfort in the silence, finding comfort in each other’s arms for you drew strength from one another, offering support amidst the overwhelming feelings that engulfed you.
∟⋄∟⋄∟⋄∟
The next day, as the sun bathed the forest in a golden glow, you were sitting near the quiet stream by yourself, keeping yourself distracted and enjoying the gentle tickle of water, when you heard footsteps growing louder as someone approached you. You turned around, a calm expression masking the inner storm within you, just to see Neteyam, his expression hardened with determination
Your eyes met his, and you could see anger, confusion, and concern in his gaze all at once, catching you completely off-guard; it was strange that he sought you out in the first place, and then seeing him so
 emotional, that was a first.
He stood tall before you, the sun at his back, giving him an angelic glow that he surely didn’t deserve, and it was ironic, too, given his angry pout that you were sure Lo'ak would’ve made fun of if he was here.
Neteyam’s voice was laced with a tinge of bitterness when he spoke, “You’ve broken my brother’s heart. What did you do to him?”
“You already have your answer, apparently I’ve broken his heart,” you said sarcastically to which he scoffed. You remained composed, refusing to allow his words to rattle you, and your voice carried a hint of indifference as you added, “Trust me, I haven’t done and wouldn’t ever do anything to intentionally hurt Lo'ak.”
Neteyam’s nostrils flared as frustration mingled with his anger. The man, normally composed, couldn’t be further away from that in that very moment, when he took a deliberate step closer, his gaze locking with yours. “Don’t play innocent with me. You must’ve betrayed him in some way.”
“Betrayal requires intent, Neteyam,” You held his gaze, unyielding in the face of his accusations, “Whatever you think I’ve done, it wasn’t with the purpose of hurting Lo'ak.”
Neteyam’s anger wavered for a moment, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty. His brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of the situation. “Then why? Why is he crying and suffering if it wasn’t your doing? What could have caused this?”
A bittersweet smile graced your lips as you shook your head gently.
“It’s true, isn’t it? What IvĂ€t said at training this mor—”
“Don’t say his name,” you warned, your voice carrying a deep, growling tone from the back of your throat.
Neteyam’s anger softened, replaced by curiosity and even a sense of empathy. Though skepticism still lingered in his voice, genuine concern emerged, “But why? Why would you go back to him? He should be exiled but here you are, running back to him after everything he’s done to you.”
“Tell me again why any of this matters to you?” you questioned.
“Lo'ak cares for you, deeply. I care for him, deeply. That means everything you do eventually affects me,” Neteyam explained, attempting to convey the weight of his words. “Understand that your actions have consequences for everyone around you.”
“I’m not having this conversation with you right now,” you declared sighing, walking past him with determined steps.
“Just tell your parents you don’t want to,” he shouted after you, “I can
My family could support you, you know. You don’t have to do anything against your will.”
“Well,” you turned around, snapping at him, “you can’t fight against fate, can you?”
There was a brief pause as Neteyam absorbed your words, realization slowly dawning on him that there might be more to the situation than he initially believed. His eyes darkened, and his nails dug into his palms as he struggled to control his emotions, “You can try.”
You let out an ironic huff, shaking your head slightly and biting your inner cheek to prevent a sarcastic comment from slipping out.
“I am not your enemy,” he continued in a softer tone, seeking your eyes, “I’m only here trying to help you, yet you—”
“That, Neteyam, is not my concern,” you interrupted him harshly. You met his gaze finally, the weight of unspoken truths hanging in the air between you. “I never asked for your help, nor do I need it. If you truly care about your brother, perhaps you should be there for him and ask him directly how you can help him instead of mingling with my private life and assuming the worst of me.”
With that, you turned back around and kept walking away with determined steps, leaving Neteyam standing by the stream alone with his swirling thoughts, but you couldn’t deny the flicker of vulnerability within you as a twinge of guilt tugged at your conscience for the way you had treated the only person who had recently saved your life, accompanied by a sense of regret for your harsh words, realizing that you had never even thanked him.
∟⋄∟⋄∟⋄∟
A few hours later, you were sitting on the wooden floor in your family’s tent; leaning your head against the slightly dirty rolled-up rug near the entry and pulling your knees so close to your body that the hem of your loincloth slipped a long way down your thigh. The evening had long since settled over the landscapes, and it was now dark outside. In your hands, you were holding a handcrafted mug with still steaming herbal tea that Kiri had brought you a few minutes earlier, and you clutched it so tight that your knuckles were clearly visible on your skin.
Kiri was now sitting at the opposite side of you next to your hammock as she thoughtfully twisted the hem of her loincloth between her fingers, like she always did when she didn’t know what to say, before deciding to leave the fabric alone.
“Now tell me, what’s going on?” You sighed softly and something in your friend’s gaze brought tears to your eyes, but you didn’t want to cry, not again. You liked Kiri a lot, she was the girl you were closest friends with, in the entire clan, but you hated to refer to her as ‘best friend’, although, strictly speaking, she was. You liked Kiri actually so much that you couldn’t do it to her. Not after seeing what it had done to Lo'ak. You couldn’t bear to see two broken souls within a day. But your previous encounter with Neteyam had taught you something: you had to be the one whom they heard the news of, not someone else, let alone a stranger. It had to be you. That much you owed them at least. And yet, it was so difficult.
“Everything’s fine. Really.” A weak smile crept on your face involuntarily, while you took a sip of your tea. “Come on, Kiri. Don’t be stupid, you’re missing out on the evening meal.”
“You as well.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“You’re always hungry.” You sat up straight and leaned one leg over the other so you could look directly at Kiri. There was something in her gaze between concern and helplessness, but you could only vaguely make it out. She bit her lower lip lightly before continuing. “I met Lo'ak earlier, he looked
he really didn’t look good, and he seemed kind of absent.”
“He’s probably missing Tsireya already.”
“He said I’d better talk to you about it.”
You kept quiet at that, unsure how to respond.
“You know, Neteyam said that you-know-who goes around saying
that he has approached your parents, seeking their approval to court you once again? Is that true?”
“Yes,” you answered without any emotion in your voice.
“But there is something else that saddens you.”
You lifted your shoulders slightly, just a tiny bit, and you already felt the tears threaten to fall down your eyelashes. You ran the back of your hand over your face, exhaled shakily, and pressed your lips together, but the first sob stumbled over your lips before you could have done anything about it.
You muttered a curse word, and it took you a moment to pull yourself together. “I’m sorry, Kiri. I am so incredibly sorry.” The tears ran down your cheeks unsteadily, and dripped onto the feathers on your chest, leaving behind light stains that faded a heartbeat later. “So far only my parents know, and probably yours, too, along with Tsahìk, of course. And Lo'ak, he knows, too. The others will find out when it can no longer be avoided, and
and this moment, it will come, but
you really cannot tell anyone, Kiri.”
Kiri stared at you blankly, a single hair strand had come off her bun and fell over her shoulder in a slight wave. She was afraid. You were too. You sniffed softly and looked down, just a brief moment before you pulled yourself together and looked up at her.
“I am dying, Kiri, and there is no cure.”
Tumblr media
so basically, my first upload kinda flopped and I’m trying to find out the reason why, whether it’s my writing, the topic of the story (which I can understand since it’s not everyone’s cup of tea), or if it’s the algorithm. if you like this piece of writing, please let me know through your interaction 💕

if you are still doing the ask game
4 for koichi, josuke, and okuyasu :)))
hi vade yes i am still doing the ask game thank you very much also it's very funny u send me this with this trio cause i sent a mutual this same prompt with this same trio
write a book with: okuyasu i think he has a lot of great ideas cause even if they don't work a lot, he is creative. and honestly i think he'd be good at poetry once he was taught the fundamentals so
read a book with: this one is hard. but based on canon koichi is willing to nerd out with you (such as when he discussed pink dark boy with hazamada) and he's not drawn only to fiction (when he read about morioh's missing persons stats) which is a plus for me cause lately in terms of books I've been more drawn to nonfiction so
hit with a book: sorry josuke but you're a shit brickhouse of teenage muscle and you're also not an abuse victim like oku is so i would feel the least bad about smacking him with a book. he can smack me back it'll be fun

ITS SPOOKY SEASON BABY !!!
And that means making spooky aus for no reason other than fun<3
In summary- jjba part 1-6 but there’s no stands/Hamon and they all exist at the same time AND everyone is a spooky monster!!! I included as many characters as I could but it’s quite easy to run out of creatures, so bear with me on a few of them. Also the joestar bloodline is just gonna all be George Joestars kids because I said so!
Also, this is all really dumb but it’s just for fun so it’s ok💕
*minor TW for mentions of death!!! Nothing graphic but I’d rather be safe
Jonathan: Frankenstein
Not exactly like the traditional Frankenstein’s monster but whatever!!
Used to be a regular kid until he died in his 20s along with Erina :(
His father, who is still alive here, doctors the hell out of his dead son and boom. Franken-son.
Most body parts are his but he lost some in his death... so like, one of his legs is just some random guys.
He is still very Jonathan... a sweet boy... beloved.
He loves flowers and plants and such!
Married to Erina!!!
Joseph: werewolf
Tbh I just feel like werewolves give off himbo energy
Ran into some spooky woods next to the Joestar mansion as a kid and came home with a wolf bite and a cool new form
The exact same as regular Joseph but with more dog attributes
Our boy will chew on a bone if he finds one. He will chase tennis balls like his life depends on it.
Him and Caesar are rivals but the kind of rivals who fight on the weekdays and watch shitty romcoms together on weekends
Jotaro: merman
Ocean man....... take me by the hand...... lead me to the land.......
Ok but in all seriousness. You know why Jotaro is a merman. Silly little ocean man.
Edgy bastard but he will go entirely soft if you bring out a sea creature
I have 0 idea how he became this. He probably pissed off an ocean witch or something and she made him a merman
H20: just add water type transformation. If he touches water, BOOM now he has a tail
He does not let that stop him
Kakyoin is his best buddy!! He also hangs out w/ Polneraff and Avdol
Jolyne: witch
Jolyne is just a lesbian witch. Is that too much to want
Idk anything about witches so I dunno!!! Maybe she just like. Decided to be a witch. I think there are real witches and I don’t want to disrespect anyone
Although she is the Halloween-y, pointy hat, black robe witch. She makes potions and stuff.
She has diverted her potion experience into cooking
She makes THE BEST fucking pastries
Josuke: werewolf (like father like son)
Even tho Joseph is not his dad here they give off similar energies
Joseph bit him while they were arguing and boom boom werewolf
In a band!!! With oku, koichi and yukako!!
Rohan is their manager
Best friends with Okuyasu and Koichi
He will cry if he doesn’t eat for 4 hours
Giorno: vampire
Vampire for obvious reasons
He’s technically everyone’s nephew because he’s DIOs son (who is biologically a joestar here)
He’s not in the mafia! He just hangs out with the bucci gang!
Despite having the ability to make it seem like he knows what’s going on, he never does
Never
Pudding cups are banned from the mansion because he will devour them in just a few seconds
Vegan, but will never pass up drinking the blood from someone he hates
You guys know I’d never stop at just the jojos
Erina: Frankensteins bride!
Died with Jonathan and was brought back the same way as him
Baker!!!
Very close with Speedwagon
Speedwagon: former ghost hunter
Our man was a ghost hunter until actually meeting a ghost (probably Reimi) and deciding that maybe he could just be a normal man instead
He lives with the joestars because he’s really close with Jonathan and Erina
He and Will were a ghost/vampire hunting duo
Will Zeppeli: former vampire hunter (who is now a vampire lol)
Once Speedwagon decided to just be friends with all the monsters he followed
Caesar: vampire
Don’t ask why caesar is a vampire even though that’s DIOs thing. Caesar gives off vampire energy.
He acts like he hates Joseph but believe me they are in love
Him and Suzie Q are the most powerful friendship you could imagine
Suzie Q: fairy!
Just a little fairy girl! That is it!
Badass bitch. Probably uses her tiny size to steal from everyone
Smokey: literally a normal dude
Caesar was going to suck his blood but decided that Smokey was too nice for that date
The joestars of course got attached to him immediately
Kakyoin: Tree Nymph
TREE MAN!!! TREE MAN!!!
His hair noodle is a branch that grows a cherry
Iggy: Cerberus type dog
Jotaros pet dog!!!
Absolute bastard
Avdol: Phoenix
Fire bird. Self explanatory.
Polnareff: centaur
Yes he still has the stupid hair. Would he be polnareff without it?
Avdol simp
Koichi: shapeshifter
He’s a shapeshifter because I said so even tho it makes no sense!!!
He does so many favours for everyone
In a band w/ oku, Josuke + yukako
Okuyasu: zombie
Why a zombie? Because Okuyasu has no brain
He’s a simple man. You put food in front of him and he eats it on sight
In a band w/ koichi, Josuke + yukako
Yukako: siren
I just feel like a long haired pretty woman gives off siren vibes
In a band!!! You have heard it three times you know the drill
Rohan: can transform into a dragon??? I guess???
I’m gonna be honest I’m just running out of ideas
Band manager
Tonio: can transform into a caladrius
@c-c-cherry told me this is some kinda healing bird??? I’m choosing to trust her don’t betray me Cherry
Reimi: ghost, obviously
No notes needed you get it. She’s a ghost
Mista: gargoyle
Stinky man!!! Stinky stone man!!! Never showers because he’s a stone man!!!
Bruno: angel<3
He’s already a perfect angel in the show why would I need to change that!!
Bruabba is canon He is married to Abbacchio
Abbacchio: demon
Goth demon man to contrast Bruno’s infinite light
He is married to Bruno because bruabba is real
Narancia: ghost
I’m literally just imagining narancia pulling so many stupid pranks as a ghost which is the whole reason I chose this for him
Fugo: reaper
Imagine like. Edgy son of the grim reaper who doesn’t want to be a reaper so he runs off and becomes friends with a wacky group of creatures. That’s fugo baby!
Trish: imp
Im almost out of ideas
Probably half human? Diavolo would definitely be an imp as well
——————————————————————————
This was very bad but fun
Thank u Cherry for being my emotional support while I tried to come up with so many different monsters
Also yes!! Some of them aren’t exactly monsters but I am just a little creature who doesn’t want to spent a week looking for the perfect monsters for every character
Love you all mwah mwah

3 times Koichi was the mom friend and one time he was just a mom
aka The dumb Duwang Gang fic I spent far too long on
AO3 link
Word count: 5442
1:
It was a late Sunday afternoon, and Koichi was enjoying some much needed relaxation time. He wasn’t really doing anything in particular, just laying in bed and listening to the same handful of songs on repeat. Everything was calm and peaceful, just like Koichi wanted.
So of course that’s when he gets a call from one of the most chaotic people in his life, Josuke.
When they first met, Josuke seemed similar to Koichi in the sense that he was relaxed and levelheaded, but as their friendship developed he realized that this was not the case. Koichi didn’t mind all that much though, it was nice to have a bit of spice in his life. Sometimes it was a bit too much, though.
He picked up the call after a few rings, a bit sad that his relaxation had been interrupted. But he tried to push that thought aside and let a smile grace his face. “Hey, what’s up?” He asked, sitting up and unplugging his headphones.
“Oh, not much. But could I ask you for a favor?” Koichi was intrigued by this, seeing as Josuke rarely ever asked for favors, causing his mind to run with possible circumstances.
“Sure! What do you need?” Koichi responded a bit too quickly, wanting to be a nice and reliable friend.
“Oh thank god, I was so worried that you’d say no. I want to order something online but we’re moving soon so I don’t want it to arrive at our old address, so could I ship it to your place? I’ll pay you a few hundred yen for the trouble,” Koichi’s face lit up at that. He could be a good friend and get paid at the same time? It sounded perfect, and Koichi couldn’t wait to help out.
“Absolutely! Just wondering though, what are you get-” Koichi started, but was cut off as Josuke hung up the call. He thought it was odd, but didn’t put too much thought into it. He sighed, laying back down and smiling.
A few weeks later, a package arrived at Koichi’s door. Despite the fact that it was addressed to ‘Koochie Horse’ he immediately assumed it was Josuke’s package. He still had no idea about the contents of it, having completely forgotten about it until a few moments ago. Although he knew that it was probably nosy to snoop through whatever Josuke had bought, curiosity got the best of him and he decided to open up the package. After all, it was probably just a new textbook or that new racing game he’d been talking about for a while.
 Right?
 Wrong.
The first thing innocent little Koichi saw upon opening the package was a small round container with the label ‘Gamer Girl Bath Water.’ He was confused to say the least and decided to take it out of the package, gasping quietly at the realization that it was in fact someone’s bathwater. Disgusted and disappointed at the same time, Koichi ran upstairs to give Josuke a call. He clicked on the contact as quickly as he could and eagerly waited for a response.
 “Yo, what’s u-”
 “The package came.”
“Wait I can explain-” Josuke pleaded, very obviously holding back a laugh. “I did it ironically, I don’t actually want someone’s bathwater. Well, unless it’s Okuyasu’s. But he’s not selling it anyway so it doesn’t really matter.”
“Josuke.. I..” Koichi paused for a minute to contemplate his life decisions that lead up to this moment, then continued. “I’m so disappointed in you. And I’m not even going to mention the last you wanting to buy Okuyasu’s bath water because that’s disgusting.” Koichi sighed, setting the accursed bath water on his nightstand.
“I don’t blame you. Even Oku was disappointed in me, and I’m pretty sure he subscribed to her Onlyfans.”
“That one wasn’t ironic, was it?” Koichi replied, his disappointment growing significantly as he realized that Okuyasu had paid for porn of a gamer girl.
 “Nope.”
 “I thought so.”
 2:
After the whole bath water incident, Koichi became much more wary of Josuke’s antics. So when he asked if he wanted to have a sleepover for the first time, he was pretty nervous. Not to say that he wasn’t excited, he was just anxious that he was going to somehow be pressured into buying someone’s bath water.
Luckily for Koichi, the night went completely normally at first. Well, as close to normally as you could ever get in Morioh. The three of them played a few different video games and talked about the serial killer running around the town, typical teenage stuff. It was only when Okuyasu started complaining that he was hungry did the mom friend in Koichi come out. The group walked to Josuke’s refrigerator after getting tired of Okuyasu’s complaining and collectively sighed as they saw the contents of it. There was a whole watermelon, a few eggs, and a singular slice of cheese. Just as Okuyasu suggested eating the watermelon whole, the group noticed something else on a lower shelf of the refrigerator. It was a small container of cookie dough from Kame Yu. It caused the three of them to gasp in excitement, but for different reasons. Josuke and Okuyasu, like most people, were planning to eat the cookie dough raw and then regret that decision when their stomachs were screaming in pain. Koichi, however, was planning to actually make the cookies. There should be enough dough to make at least one cookie for everyone, so that was the obvious way to go about things in his mind. He grabbed the container and took a quick glance at the back of it, which earned a confused look from the two idiots.
“Oi Koichi, you’re not going to actually bake those, right?” Josuke asked, bewildered at the idea that anyone would waste perfectly good cookie dough by cooking it.
“Of course I’m going to bake it.. that’s what you do with cookie dough?” Koichi replied, incredibly confused. Unless they were going to shove it up their asses (which he wouldn’t put past them) he couldn’t think of a reason why they wouldn’t want him to bake the cookies. And then it hit him. “Wait, were you guys planning to eat it raw?” Koichi asked, the disappointment he was feeling evident in his voice.
“Well duh. Besides, that shit is too complicated anyway,” Okuyasu muttered, looking at Josuke for a split second to make sure that he wasn’t the only insane one.
“Okuyasu you literally just put it in the oven. It’s not that complicated. Also it says DO NOT EAT RAW in massive lettering,” Koichi said, gesturing towards the comic sans warning on the front of the container.
“Koichi you’re not even tall enough to reach the pan you need to put the cookies in. Plus they’ll take like 20 minutes to bake and if I have to listen to Okuyasu complain about how hungry he is one more time then I’m going to explode.” Josuke replied, stealing the container from Koichi and opening it up. “Oh wow, there’s more in here than I thought. There’s probably enough for you to make a few cookies and for us to have some of it if you still want to make them.”
Koichi shook his head at first, but began to think about it more and more. He was getting hungry as well and didn’t feel like eating an entire watermelon so this was really his only option. Besides, he would have the opportunity to prove that he wasn’t insane and that cookie dough was better when made into actual cookies. Koichi took the container back from Josuke’s hand and carefully scooped out 5 balls of dough with a spoon that was laying on the counter. In retrospect he probably should have washed the spoon first, but he didn’t dwell on it for long. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you when you both end up with stomach aches.” Koichi warned as he handed the now halfway empty container of cookie dough back to the idiots. They ran back to Josuke’s room quickly and left Koichi to bake his cookies in peace. The first thing he needed to do was find a pan to cook them in, which proved difficult. He searched through almost every cabinet and drawer in his kitchen, only to find nothing but old cook books and cookie sheets. (which he also needed but not as much as the actual pan) Just as he was about to admit defeat, he noticed two more cabinets far above the oven that he was nowhere near tall enough to reach.
 Shit.
Getting Josuke or Okuyasu to help wasn’t an option because he was NOT going to deal with the months of teasing that would result from it, so he had to improvise. He felt bad snooping around Josuke’s house, but he didn’t really have any other option. Koichi started by looking in his living room, and while he didn’t find any stools he did find a half asleep Tomoko next to an empty bottle of wine and a porno magazine. While that was interesting it wasn’t what he needed, so he kept looking. Eventually he found a sturdy looking chair and figured that would work as a stool. Luckily it did, and he was able to actually start making the cookies. He’s familiar with the Kame Yu brand of cookie dough, so it didn’t take him long at all to get them in the proper shape and size. Double checking the time and temperature, he put the tray into Josuke’s oven and waited. He considered going back to talk the two idiots but decided against it after hearing one of them scream “JUST BECAUSE I PUT SOMETHING IN MY ASS      ONCE     DOESN’T MEAN I’M GAY!” It caused Tomoko to stir a little bit, and that worried Koichi too much to leave the kitchen.
After about 10 minutes of staring at the oven it finally beeped, signaling that the cookies were done. As Koichi opened the oven he smiled widely. They turned out perfectly; they were just the right size and they were the perfect shade of golden brown. They still needed to cool off though, but Koichi didn’t feel like waiting any longer. Besides, he could just wait for them to cool off while he was rubbing them in Josuke and Okuyasu’s faces. Carefully using an oven mitt to move them onto a plate, Koichi took a whiff of the cookies and smiled. This was certainly better than raw cookie dough. Once they were all onto a plate Koichi excitedly walked back to Josuke’s room. The heat from the still warm cookies burned his palms a bit, but he didn’t mind all that much. After all, he’d been through a lot worse than a bit of a burn. “See guys! I told you that they’re better this w-” Koichi cut himself off as he noticed that Okuyasu and Josuke were laying on the floor, cuddled up next to each other and moaning. To Koichi’s immediate relief they were in fact not fucking each other, but they’d eaten so much cookie dough that it was too painful to move.
 “Hhhhhhhgggg
. this was a bad idea
” Josuke whined, looking up at Koichi’s cookies with puppy dog eyes. “Can I have one? Please?” He said as Koichi looked away as quickly as possible. Josuke was hard to say no to normally, let alone with puppy dog eyes. He couldn’t help but look back after a few seconds, and by then he was making desperate grabby hands.
“Sure, just take one though. But if you would’ve listened to me from the start then we’d have a lot more cookies and you both wouldn’t be in so much pain right now.” Koichi smiled as he realized that he’d won their little feud. He sat down next to Josuke and set the plate down next to him, sighing quietly in relief at the fact that his hands weren’t burning anymore.
“Yeah whatever.. thanks though, these look delicious,” Josuke mumbled as both he and Okuyasu reached for a cookie. It was only then that Koichi remembered something he probably should have mentioned a while ago.
“WAIT DON’T TOUCH THEM YET THEY’RE STILL BUR-”
 “OW KOICHI WHAT THE FUCK???”
 “..ning”
 3:
Koichi is a good child. He never snuck out, never skipped school, never cheated on tests, and never even considered doing things that Josuke and Okuyasu did on a daily basis.
He’s also very compassionate and worries for other people more than himself a lot of the time.
Coupling these two things together, to say that Koichi was concerned that Josuke had been gone from school for the past week was a massive understatement. He kept saying that it was ‘just a cold’ and that he ‘felt mostly fine,’ but Koichi didn’t believe his words. He was incredibly worried about Josuke’s health, especially with all of the Stand users that were roaming around the town. The possibility that Josuke was attacked by a disease giving Stand was incredibly low, but it still worried Koichi a ton. Okuyasu didn’t seem to be anywhere near as worried, which confused him completely. He’d been gone for an entire school week, obviously something was wrong. He made sure to call Josuke every night and make sure he was okay, but those phone calls didn’t seem to alleviate his concerns in the slightest. He always seemed so sick and in pain during them that it made Koichi’s own throat start to hurt. So after the 5th day in a row of him being gone, Koichi made a decision. He decided that he would go to Kame Yu after school to buy a few things and then visit Josuke in hopes to make him feel a bit better.
The school day went by normally like usual except for the fact that Josuke was absent once again. Rumors were starting to spread like wildfire about his absence, something that made Koichi even more worried for his friend.
He went to Kame Yu immediately after school, texting his mom a short message explaining that he’d be gone for a little while. He didn’t have an exact list of things he wanted to buy, he only had a handful of general ideas in mind. He started by grabbing some donuts  and a slice of cheesecake from the bakery section of the store, two things he’d recently learned were some of Josuke’s favorites. After that he looked for some medicine to at the very least help with his pain. Koichi didn’t know what type of illness Josuke had, so he picked out a few general cough medicines like Tylenol and DayQuil. Lastly he went over to the junk food area of the store and grabbed a few miscellaneous things like chips and chocolate bars. The total only came to about two thousand yen, which Koichi didn’t mind paying in the slightest. Besides, Josuke had given him a cut of his lottery winnings a week prior so this was a good way to repay him somewhat.
As he walked down the street to visit the ‘sick’ boy, Koichi contemplated calling Josuke to let him know about his arrival. He decided against it after a while though, remembering the few times he’d come over without a notice. He knocked on the door and waited patiently for a response. It took a lot longer than he expected, sparking worry in Koichi that he’d interrupted Tomoko while she was busy. He sighed in relief as someone opened the door, but looked up in a bit of confusion as Josuke opened the door instead. “Oh hi Koichi, what are you doing here? I’m glad you showed up though, I was getting pretty bored. Come on in, my room’s a bit messy though,” he chuckled as he motioned for Koichi to come inside. Koichi was thoroughly confused. He didn’t sound sick at all, and he didn’t even mention his illness. And why was he holding his Switch, he always said it was ‘the reason he was having homosexual thoughts’ for some reason? All of these concerns seemed to be answered immediately as Josuke started to speak once again. “Shit, you still think that I was sick right? Oops.” Josuke laughed nervously as he looked down.
“Wait you’re not? Then why have you been missing school for so long? Is everything okay?” He asked as he followed Josuke upstairs and to his room. He set the bags of medicine and junk food down next to his bed and gave Josuke another confused look.
“Okay Koichi you’re going to think that I’m insane and I don’t really blame you but I’ve started a business. And I faked an illness so that I can stay home for a couple days and keep on top of all of my customers and orders. Also what’s in the bags?” Not once did Josuke look up from his Switch during this interaction, as he was too busy trying to farm for popular villagers. “Okay so here’s the idea. I get Nook Miles tickets from playing the game. I use the tickets to farm for rare villagers. I search for Raymond specifically. I get Raymond. I sell Raymond on EBay for 6,000„. I use a portion of that to buy more Nook Miles Tickets and then the cycle continues until I’m rich.”
Koichi burst out with laughter at both the ridiculous idea and the completely serious look on Josuke’s face while telling him about it. He couldn’t help himself. Buying Animal Crossing villagers? Who would do that? His ‘business’ venture didn’t change the fact that he skipped school to work on it though, and Koichi’s laughter quickly turned into disappointed silence as he remembered. “Yeah but you still skipped an entire week of school to do this though.. I was really worried about you.. That’s why I came over here, I brought you medicine and some food to help you feel better,” Koichi muttered, feeling a bit dumb for not even considering the possibility that he’d just been skipping school.
“Oh my god that’s why you came over? I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to make you worried! I’ll give you a cut of the Animal Crossing money for making you panic and for going out of your way to get all of this stuff for me. I really appreciate it,” Josuke said, still not looking up from his Switch. “I thought I was only going to be gone for a day so I just said I was sick and then my business exploded and I just had to keep going along with it an- GODDAMNIT LEOPOLD NOBODY LIKES YOU YOU DUMB SHIT!”
“Oh it’s fine, I’m just glad you’re okay. How’d you manage to convince your mom that you were sick for an entire week though? And thanks but it’s alright, you can keep the 2„ you’re going to make from your ‘business.’ Koichi looked over at Josuke’s Switch to find what he was so angry about only to be greeted by an adorable looking lion with green hair and glasses. Why was he so angry?
“Oh you laugh Koichi but I’ve already made over 200,000„. These people are so desperate for these fake animals it’s insane. Also my mom’s away on some sort of business trip thing. I’m definitely gonna get my ass beat when she gets home but-Oh thank god it’s someone I can actually sell for once.” Josuke smiled softly as Koichi looked over once again to see a cat that looked like an orange. Adorable! Though he didn’t know what made it different from the lion that made Josuke so angry. “Anyways, you can have some of the animal crossing money for all the trouble you went through. Is 10,000„ fair? I really don’t know what to do with all of this money to be honest.”
That was the first time that Koichi realized that Josuke wasn’t joking or lying and that he’d actually made a huge profit by selling animal crossing villagers. And he’d be getting a cut from it too? Not just a few hundred yen either, 10,000.
“10,000„? That’s a lot, are you sure? I mean it really wasn’t that much trouble and I..”
“Shut up and take the money Koichi. You can have it as long as I can still have the food you brought me.” Josuke finally looked up from his Switch to look into the bags of stuff Koichi had brought and happily gasped. “Woah is that cheesecake? You’re the best!”
Suddenly the week Koichi spent worrying about his friend didn’t seem to matter as much.
 1:
Nothing ever stays calm in Morioh.
That’s something that Koichi had learned over the summer.
So when he was having a relaxing and chill day, he really should have expected something to go wrong. That ‘something’ was a frantic call from Josuke some time in the evening. Of course that itself wouldn’t be an issue, but the subject matter certainly was. Excited to take a call from his best friend, Koichi set down the book he was reading and eagerly picked it up. “Hi Josuke, what’s u-”
“HE FORGOT THE BABY!” Josuke yelled into the microphone, causing Koichi to panic a bit.
“WHAT?” Koichi yelled back, holding the phone further away from his ear because of how loud Josuke was being.
 “HE FORGOT THE BABY!!”
“Josuke you're going to need to explain,” Koichi said, hoping that it was a joke of some sort.
“Okay so you know how my dad left yesterday?”
 “Ye-”
“WELL HE FORGOT THE BABY!!” Josuke yelled once again, the distress he was feeling very evident in his voice. Koichi knew this must’ve been somewhat legitimate considering Josuke was a terrible actor.
 “Josuke I
.. what baby? There’s a baby?” Koichi asked with just as much confusion in his voice as distress in Josuke’s.
“Oh my god I never told you about the baby!! So like two months ago when my old man first got here we found an invisible baby and we named her Shizuka and he was supposed to take her with him but he didn’t and now I have a baby to take care of and I don’t know what to do and I-” Josuke rambled frantically, holding Shizuka in one arm and his phone in the other.
“Okay calm down, I’m sure everything will be fine. Maybe just tell your mother that he left the baby and she can call him up? I’m sure he wouldn't mind buying another boat ticket.” Koichi replied calmly before realizing something. “Wait, she’s invisible? How did you find her then? Is she a Stand user?”
“I mean, probably? All I know is that there is a crying baby in my arms and if it keeps crying it’s going to turn my arms invisible and I kind of need to see those. And my mother definitely won’t believe that my dad left an invisible baby here. Besides I’m pretty sure she’ll start breaking down if I even mention him.” Josuke sighed, gently rocking Shizuka back and forth. Or at least what he thought was gently.
“Wait, she turns things around her invisible too? Oh god that can’t be good. Try and figure out why she’s crying and then take care of it. I can probably come over and help you if you want, I have a little bit of experience babysitting. But you should probably find a way to contact your dad so that we don’t have to deal with an invisible baby forever.” Koichi’s motherly instincts were becoming more and more apparent now that there was an actual baby involved, especially considering he didn’t trust Josuke to handle a baby all by himself.
“I think she’s tired but she won’t go to sleep. I have her some NyQuil but I think that just made it wor-”
“You gave the BABY NyQuil??? Okay I’m coming over to your house because I do NOT trust you with this baby.” Koichi was so incredibly worried for the well being of the poor baby at this point.
“I mean yeah.. now that I think about it that was probably a bad idea. And please do, it’s been crying for like 20 minutes,” Josuke pleaded, causing Koichi to hang up the call and get ready to leave the house as soon as possible. It also didn’t help his worries that Josuke referred to the baby as ‘it.’ After somehow convincing his mother that he was going over to Josuke’s house to study, he practically ran out the door to make sure Josuke hadn’t murdered the baby already. He knocked on the door frantically and was created by a confused yet excited Tomoko who had no idea about the situation unfolding upstairs. Tomoko started to have a conversation with Koichi, which although he appreciated it, was the opposite of what he wanted to do right now. He tried to rush it as much as possible without seeming rude, and practically ran upstairs once it was over with. He opened the door a bit too quickly, causing Shizuka to stir a bit and start crying louder. That wasn’t his biggest concern though; his biggest concern was the fact that Josuke had given the baby to Crazy Diamond and Crazy Diamond was rocking the baby with way more force than necessary. “Oh thank god you’re here, it’s crying and I don’t know what to do.”
“Just.. just give me the baby. Also you better be paying me for this,” Koichi mumbled as he took the baby out of Crazy Diamond’s arms. He tensed up for a second before remembering how he used to rock the babies he had to babysit. All of his attention was on carefully rocking Shizuka back and forth, and it seemed to calm her down a lot. Although the makeup on her face had heavily faded Koichi could still make out her expression, and she seemed to be a bit happy. She was still crying though, and Koichi could tell she needed something. “Have you fed her today? That might be why she’s crying,” Koichi asked, looking up at Josuke with a slight frown. This night was going to be fun.
“I fed her a little bit earlier but then she vomited all over me and started screaming again. But that’s a good idea, I’ll go get some food for her.” Koichi was very worried about whatever Josuke was about to bring as food for Shizuka, but he didn’t feel like asking. After all he couldn’t be that stupid, right? Well he did try to give her NyQuil so I guess he could be that stupid. He continued gently rocking Shizuka, making sure to maintain a gentle yet steady rhythm. The smile on her face led to a smile on Koichi’s face, which was only helped when she gently grabbed onto Koichi’s sweater. He had no idea why he was so good with kids considering he only babysat a handful of times, all he knew is that he was thankful for it. As he heard the door open Koichi prepared for disappointment but was pleasantly surprised when Josuke brought up actual baby food, a few napkins, and a bottle full of a red liquid of some sort. “We don’t have milk but I read somewhere that you can give babies fruit juice as long as they’re over a month old. Hopefully it’s fruit juice anyway, it didn’t have a label on it. Oh and I brought some napkins in case she throws up again,” Josuke said as he sat down on the bed next to Koichi.
Koichi was more than willing to take the small risk that he was feeding her blood to make sure that Shizuka had something to drink. Everything was going well
too well. But he tried not to think about that. “Oh wow, thank you so much! I was half expecting you to bring me like wine or something,” Koichi replied, wishing that he was joking. He took the bottle from Josuke’s hands and shifted the way he held Shizuka slightly so that he could feed her more easily. Koichi slowly handed her the bottle, which caused her eyes to light up and for her to immediately start drinking. Thinking he did something right, Koichi smiled and looked up at Josuke before hearing sounds of vomiting and seeing bits of red splattered all over his sweatshirt. Goddamnit. As he reached up to grab some of the napkins that Josuke had brought, Koichi realized that he was laughing way, way harder than he should’ve been. “Hey shut up, at least I’m actually taking care of      your     baby,” Koichi mumbled as he took the napkins and cleaned the spit up off of his hoodie. After that was taken care of he grabbed the container of baby food and opened it up, relieved to see that it had a small spoon on the side of it so he didn’t have to make Josuke run more errands for him. He opened up the container way more carefully then he needed to and grabbed a spoonful of the yellow mush. To Koichi’s relief Shizuka eagerly ate every spoonful she was given and didn’t throw it up this time. She got through the entire container of baby food relatively quickly and it made Koichi feel incredibly accomplished. She also wasn’t crying anymore and had a huge adorable smile stretched out across her face, so it was clear that her hunger was the reason she was upset. Shizuka once again clung to Koichi’s (now stained with red) sweatshirt and mumbled something incoherent. He figured this meant that she was tired so he glanced around Josuke’s room for a blanket, but what happened next was certainly not what he was expecting.
“Mama!!” She said between small fits of giggles, her grip on Koichi tightening slightly. He gasped with both excitement and confusion as Josuke started going hysterical. “Mmaama!” She cooed once again, making as close to eye contact as someone invisible could make with Koichi.
“W- I- has she ever spoken before this??” Koichi asked frantically as he realized that he was now the mother of an invisible baby that he met 15 minutes ago. Though thinking about it more he didn’t really mind it for the time being.
“No she hasn’t! She’s never even called me that and I’ve had that thing for way longer. Bitch.” Josuke clearly looked angry about this and it made Koichi laugh a bit.
“Well I didn’t give her NyQuil and actually fed her. Maybe if you take her for a bit she’ll warm up to you.” He attempted to pry Shizuka’s hands off of his sweatshirt which proved to be way more difficult than he thought. Once he did though, she seemed to go into Josuke’s arms with ease. Josuke’s eyes lit up as the baby was shifted into his hands, panicking a bit before remembering the rhythm that Koichi had kept while rocking her. He did that for quite some time until Shizuka seemed just as comfortable and happy as she was in her ‘mom’s’ arms. After a while, her eyes closed and she started to drift off to sleep. “M..ama..” she mumbled softly as she snuggled closer into Josuke’s arms. He tried his very best to hold back a laugh so he wouldn’t wake her up, but he couldn’t help it. Luckily Shizuka seemed to be a heavy sleeper and it didn’t bother her too much.
“Ha, we’re both her moms! That’s gay,” Josuke said with far too much laughter following it. Koichi sighed once again, something he’d been accustomed to during his friendship with Josuke.
“Yeah shut up, let’s find a place to keep while she sleeps.” Koichi’s eyes darted around Josuke’s room to find somewhere to keep her, eventually landing on a small basket in the corner. It wouldn’t be the most comfortable thing, but they didn’t have many other options. He put one of Josuke’s pillows into the basket along with a towel for a blanket and motioned for him to put Shizuka in it. He did, (actually being gentle for once) and she subconsciously snuggled up against the pillow. As they shared a relieved and happy glance with each other, they started to think about what else they should do considering it was only about 6pm.
“Wanna play F-Mega? I just unlocked some secret tracks?”
 “Sure!”
Being a lesbian mother to an invisible baby was certainly not the way Koichi expected the summer to end, but he should have known that nothing is expected in Morioh.

Fluffy Oku and Josuke hcs? Whether that’s separate or poly is up to u also take ur time ilysm—
You dont know how hard it is for me to choose between those two, I’m--
I’m gonna do them separate rn but if anyone else asks for poly josuyasu, i will not hesitAte
Josuke
Okay, we all know Josuke is an awkward and easily-flustered boy
He tries his best to be all romantic and cliche and fancy with you for dates but it's just so adorable that half the time you end up chuckling at him
“W-what? Did I do something wrong? Should I have gotten less candles?”
You assure him that the amount of candles he lit for a dinner with you is fine, you just think he’s very cute
Josuke doesn’t know how to respond when you compliment him like that
If you were to tell him his hair looked nice or that he was handsome, he’d take it in stride.
But you call him cute or pretty?
The boy blushes like a tomato and stutters his way through a thank you, or deflects it back to you
Also, he doesn’t typically initiate cuddling, outside of trying the yawning arm trick a few times at the movies
He’s just too damn awkward to ask
However, anytime you ask him for some snuggles, Josuke is more than happy to oblige
He will almost definitely want to cuddle you for hours, until one or both of you fall asleep
Okuyasu
Okuyasu is similar to Josuke in a lot of aspects with romance
Except for when he’s not--which is mostly when he just doesn’t understand something
I’m sorry but Okuyasu is so dumb and i loVe him for it okay?
He has nO idea how to go about cuddling, you have to give him instructions the first few times
After that tho, hes pretty enthusiastic
Oku would love to just lay on your chest and have you scratch his head/hair
He is a very simple man and by that i mean if he sees you smile he will also break out into a goofy grin
All he needs to be happy is for you to be happy
Like sometimes he might get sad thinking about stuff with his dad or have a bout of missing his brother
And you just pull him onto the couch and pet his hair while he tries to talk through it
He feels a lot better after a few minutes with you
Then you guys can go back to normal, happy cuddles :)

Yelooo... How about a "You've kissed me about fifty times today" with Okuyasu? Please
Hey! Sorry for the delay, I hope this is worth the wait though❀
Meant to be (You’ve kissed me about fifty times today)
Okuyasu x Reader❀
The sound of your phone ringing was what woke you up from your 2 hours log nap, which you hadn’t planned to take seeing how you were laying on the couch in the most uncomfortable position, with your laptop still on your stomach and the bag of chips you’d forgotten to put away now on the floor.
You lazily grabbed your phone from the coffee table and a gentle smile adorned your face once you were finally able to read the name of who was calling you at 7 in the evening; you pressed the green button on the screen.
“Hello, is Okuyasu there?” you said, doing your best to sound serious, until you heard a small ‘Huh?’ and couldn’t keep a straight face anymore, a small giggle escaping your lips.
“I called you- wait, are you pranking me?” he asked, and you giggled one more time at how easily he’d get confused at this kind of things.
“Yeah, yeah! What’s up though?” you finally asked, genuinely curious. He’d usually call you in the early afternoon or he’d just stop by if he needed something, he was your boyfriend after all, so you didn’t mind having him around.
He excitedly explain –you could tell he was smiling, even through the phone- that he was free the following day and that if you didn’t mind he had something special planned for the both of you. The following day being a Sunday, you didn’t have much to do as it was everyone’s lazy day, so you informed him that you were free also.
“I was thinking that I could pick you up at 5_30? In the afternoon- but it’s okay if you prefer earlier or later!” he quickly added, and you shook your head even though he couldn’t see you.
“5 is fine by me, are youuu planning to bring me to that nice Trattoria you work at?” you asked, picking up the bag of chips and placing it on the small table, “Or some other place I don’t know about yet? Or wait- don’t tell me, I want it to be a surprise!”
You heard him giggle at your behaviour, and you couldn’t help but do the same.
“It’s a surprise babe, I don’t wanna ruin it for you! But
wear something nice- agh, no wait, wear whatever you want! Y-You’ll look nice anyway!” your cheeks flushed, although you hadn’t missed how he was speaking more quickly than usual. You decided not to mention it though, as you guessed it was because he had something on his mind regarding your little date.
“Alright then, impress me, handsome!”
“Woah, that’s an exaggeration!” he stammered, and you rolled your eyes playfully;
“It isn’t, when will you stop putting yourself down?” you gently scolded him, staring at a picture of the two of you which you had saved on your laptop; you even had an entire folder dedicated to various selfies you and Okuyasu took and pictures of you two in general.
“How abouuut
when you will?”
The cute conversation went on for a while as you tidied your living room, which started to resemble a garbage dump less and less. You said your goodbyes after agreeing with each other that it was starting to get late, and you both still had to make and eat dinner, and you assured him that you would’ve been able to talk later.
The next day, you woke up excited; it wasn’t exactly early in the morning when you opened your eyes, as they widened when you glanced at the clock hanging on the wall, which read 12:36 in the afternoon. You let a small sigh escape your lips, maybe playing video games until ungodly hours wasn’t that good of an idea when you were supposed to wake up early and go on a date later

Nonetheless, you still managed to cook lunch, change into a much more fitting attire and, as any other independent and responsible adult would do, watch videos on YouTube until it was time to leave with Okuyasu –whom picked you up at 5:30 with his brand new, black Nissan Note instead of his motorbike, and gave you a kiss first thing after yelling an ‘Oi, Y/N!’-.
“So,” you started, buckling up the seat belt, “You’re starting to use your car more?”
He shrugged as he started the engine,
“I mean
it was a gift for my 18th birthday, so I might as well use it. Plus
isn’t it more romantic to drive you somewhere with a car, instead of a motorbike?” he asked, causing you to snort.
“I guess so, your motorbike isn’t bad though- it’s just that the damn helmet always messes up my hair!”
“Hey, I thought that was just my problem! Why the hell didn’t ya tell me sooner? I’ve felt so alone this entire time
” he jokingly admitted, pouting slightly as you rolled your eyes and let out another giggle.
The 20 minutes drive seemed to fly by as you chatted about all, you were so engulfed with the conversation that you almost didn’t notice the beautiful scenery out of the car window- you guessed he was taking you to a restaurant with sea view.
As you finally arrived, he parked his car and gently placed a hand on your shoulder as if to stop you from opening the door.
“W-Wait, let me get that for you.” He said, getting out of the car and making his way to your side so he could open the door for you. You felt your cheeks and ears getting warmer as he even held your hand so he could help you stand up.
“That
was so sweet, Oku,” you said, beaming. His own cheeks got crimson and he quickly kissed you on the forehead, your hand still in his.
“Ah, u-uhm, yes, let’s get in, shall we?” he questioned and you nodded, a smile still on your face, partly because of the flustered state he was in.
He lead you inside, and you couldn’t help but notice how fancy the place seemed to be. Each table had a thin, white tablecloth, utensils and blue handkerchiefs placed on it, the wooden floor was so clean that you could almost use it as a mirror, and the pure white walls had been painted on, intricate drawings of the waves and fish –the colours that had been used were soft blues and greens, though- catching your attention immediately.
The restaurant was quite busy, with waiters and waitresses fast-walking from one side to the other, carrying any sort of dish. Your mouth watered at the sight of your favourite food getting served and you couldn’t wait to order something yourself.
Okuyasu seemed to notice this and opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by one of the waiters,
“Ah, welcome, miss and mister! Did you book a table?” he asked, a polite smile on his freckled face.  Okuyasu took a step forward,
“Uuh, yes, a table for two.” He quickly replied, and he nodded.
“Very well, your last names please?”
“Oh! Nijimura and L/N,”
ïżœïżœLet me lead the way!”
The two of you let him guide you towards one of the tables in the back, from where you could clearly see the sea and the clear sky without anything that could block your visual. You sat down in front of each other and the waiter handed you the Menus, informing you that he would be back soon to take your orders. You both thanked him and smiled, seeing how he had been nothing but sweet.
After a few minutes you were ready to order; you decided to eat your favourite meal while Okuyasu settled for caprese salad with pesto sauce –in honour of Tonio, you guessed, and he grinned when you asked him-.
“This is a fancy restaurant, by the way. Did you see how much some of the stuff costs? I hope the dessert isn’t too expensive, I forgot to look at the prices of that-“ you glanced at your boyfriend and he shook his head.
“Hey, don’t sweat it, it’s my treat!” he reassured you, he was being very sweet. You wondered why as you kept talking to each other; maybe he had a surprise for you? He was dressed so nicely, too- he wore a dark blue blazer with a white buttoned up shirt underneath, dark blue trousers and elegant black shoes. You panicked for a moment realizing that maybe you should’ve worn something a bit more elegant, too

When the food finally arrived it was already 6 pm –understandable since there were so many people to serve, so you didn’t complain- the sound of people talking and utensils clattering filling the large room you were in, as you and Okuyasu started to talk about how good the food tasted and how nice the place was, to then move on to how both of you were pretty much settled with the job you had –Okuyasu had brought that up, a smile on his face, and you went along with it but you didn’t miss the fact that his nervousness had started to increase-.
As the sun started to set, causing the sky to change its colour from a bright blue to pink and red hues, and the sea gradually became calmer, you glanced out of the large window, sorbet in one hand and straw in the other to support it every time you would take a sip. Said window was slightly opened, and you couldn’t complain about the fresh breeze, which was making your hair gently move without messing it up as you feared.
“Thank you so much for taking me here by the way, Okuyasu,” you said, your smile growing as his cheeks tinted pink once again.
“That is
really the least I could do for making me the happiest guy in Mor-“ ‘Shit, no, I’m fucking this up- Morioh is so small!’ he mentally scolded himself, “
the happiest guy in the world!” he responded, his hands nervously shaking despite the weather being sunny and the temperature being quite warm.
“Hey, I could say the same, find me a guy who can make me laugh with his dumb jokes and then takes me out to the most romantic dinner ever,” you said, placing the small cup made of glass on the table, both of your desserts –he had ordered choco strawberry cone flavoured ice cream, as always- finished.
“I thought I was enough, though!” he joked, and as you laughed he leaned forward to quickly kiss your nose. You quirked as eyebrow.
“You’ve kissed me about fifty times today, why is that?” you couldn’t help but ask, though you kept smiling.
“That- might be because I wanted to tell you something very important,” he started, taking your hand in his. You weren’t sure why, but your breathing quickened. You feared it was something bad, but then again, Okuyasu had always been so sweet, why would he take you out and then tell you something that’d make you cry?
“Go on, I’m all ears.”
“S-So, uh, you know I’m no good with words but
we’ve been dating for years and
in these years, I realized that I was so dumb in high school, I was jealous of Josuke because he had all those girls surrounding him and nobody really cared about me,” he took a deep breath, his gaze never meeting yours, his eyes wandering in any other direction, “That is, until I met you, and I realized that
it
didn’t really matter anymore, how many girls were interested in me, or whatever. Because, I mean, why would it when you’re here by my side? And I know this was probably really simple and maybe it sounded stupid,”
He stood up, careful not to make a fool of himself by tripping or making something fall. Meanwhile, you finally realized what was going on, and your heart began racing as you noticed him getting closer, hands clenched in his pockets, and everyone else silently staring at you, almost expectantly. He kneeled on the floor, making everyone –including you- audibly gasp. You didn’t even try to hold back the huge smile on your face, and it seemed to be the same for Okuyasu.
“
but I don’t think I need anyone else with me, when we’re together, s-so
Y/N, amore mio,” he finally whipped the ring box out of his pocket, and opened it, revealing a gorgeous engagement ring that you couldn’t wait to have on your finger, “Will you marry me?”
You, at a loss of words, simply bobbed your head up and down, tears threatening to fall from your eyes, while Okuyasu was already in tears the moment you nodded. He quickly stood up and you threw your arms around his neck, embracing him so tight that your chests were touching and your head rested in the crook of his neck, while his rested in yours. You could hear the people cheering as Okuyasu broke the tight hug to slide the ring onto your finger, only to sweetly kiss you afterwards, his cheeks still wet with tears and his lips slightly quivering.
Once you could finally speak again, you chuckled, and he tilted his head in confusion.
“Did Tonio teach you that?”
“W-What?”
“Amore mio. It means ‘my love’ in Italian,”
He raised his eyebrows in realization and he, strangely enough, looked away,
“Well, yeah, he did, but I’m also
kind of learning Italian? On my own?”
You let an almost inaudible ‘Wow’ escape from your mouth and he seemed proud of himself, as he slightly smirked.
“That’s so cool, should I expect a wedding speech in Italian then?” you questioned, half joking and half serious.
“Hey, don’t expect too much from me now!”
“Nah, don’t worry.” ‘I only expect you to be the best husband ever. I know you will be.’ You though, as he excitedly told you your next destination- the Arcade.

Good at Something (Okuyasu x reader) gender-neutral
My first time writing him. But seriously, there should be more Okuyasu x readers!
Okuyasu by his own admission knew he wasn’t very smart. High school, didn’t give him any confidence. In math, the numbers juggled around his head, and he couldn’t fathom how things went together. In english, there were just too many words altogether. Science had a lot of rules. Sure he had Josuke and Koichi to help him. But, he really wanted to just be good at something. Anything.
The weekend had finally arrived had Okuyasu was moping  as he walked home alone. Josuke had asked if he wanted to walk together, but he was honestly so bummed out from having to get help from another one of his classmates and being told,
“Geez Okuyasu, how are you bad at this? It’s easy!” for the millionth time, he didn’t want to bring down the mood. He sighed head held low. A familiar voice called out from behind him,
“Okuyasu!” turning around, you were running full speed to meet him. You were in plenty of his classes. And he talked to you seeing as everyone else was either scared or didn’t like him. He considered you a friend
And maybe he had the smallest bit of a crush,
“Hey
” you huffed as he stopped walking,
“J-just give me a second. Man do I suck at gym.” you wheezed. Okuyasu hummed, in response. Quizzically you looked up to his sad frown. Standing up you hesitated to put a hand on his shoulder,
“Okuyasu? Are you okay?” He shrugged as he continued walking,
“Mm
 Not really
It’s nothin’ though.” You kept up beside him and shook your head,
“Well, it has to be something. I was wondering why you weren’t with Josuke and Koichi. What’s bothering you?” Okuyasu averted his eyes. He almost felt embarrassed to tell you,
“Promise you won’t tell Josuke
And don’t laugh at me!” you nodded,
“I promise Okuyasu.” He sighed fiddling with the pins on his collar before muttering,
“I-I just wish I was good at something. L-Like, Josuke’s really good at Math. Koichi is great at Science. Yukako’s awesome at english...And me? I’m not good at anything
” Okuyasu idly kicked at the pebbles along the ground. Your hand gently brushed his shoulder,
“Oku
You’re great at a lot of stuff! Don’t sell yourself short, not everyone is good at everything.” Okuyasu sighed,
“Even you’re better at a lot more things than I am.” As you and Okuyasu got to the the front of his house he shrugged,
“Thanks for trying, but-” you huffed going in front of Okuyasu,
“No! I refuse to believe it Okuyasu! Let me stay over and we’ll really see!” Okuaysu shrunk into his shoulders as you opened his gate and headed towards his front door. He didn’t really feel like complaining, and there was a part of him that didn’t want to be alone.
Inside his Dad happily welcomed you in with a grunt,
“Hello Mr. Nijimura! I don’t suppose it would be a problem if I stayed for a bit right?” Okuyasu watched his Dad shake his head and guide you to the couch. Okuyasu had been slowly fixing up the house. Buying furniture among other things,
“Uh- I have to make dinner for Dad and me
and you now I guess. Did ya wanna help?” He still felt miserable but seeing you so happy started to lift his spirits. He actually laughed seeing your eyes go wide,
“Yes, I’d love to!”
Cooking dinner went relatively fast, and was surprisingly fun. As the three of you sat down for dinner Okuyasu glanced over to you as you took your first bite. He saw himself in you as you bounced happily in your seat,
“Oku! This is delicious! Do you make your own lunches too?” Okuyasu smiled nervously, a blush creeping over his cheeks,
“U-uh
No. Thanks for the compliment though.” After dinner Okuyasu watched his dad head upstairs. Meanwhile you had begun to pull out paper and pencils. Okuyasu sighed sitting down beside you,
“So are you going to prove I’m good at stuff?” You smiled shrugging,
“Don’t know. Do you have any ideas Oku?” He grumbled,
“Aw, I’m no good at thinking. Why would you leave the planning to me?”  You smiled grabbing one of his hands,
“Because I know you’re good at it! Josuke isn’t good at everything.” Oku blushed more,
“I- you
 Why do you
” Okuyasu sniffed and wiped at his eyes,
“Why are you so nice to me? Everyone else thinks I’m stupid or scary.” You froze before cupping his face and hugging his neck,
“Because if you won’t even believe in yourself, someone has to. I care about you Okuyasu.” Okuyasu whimpered as he hugged back. As the two of you sat there in silence with just Okuyasu’s sniffles. You backed away with a small blush,
“I actually did find something you’re good at,” Okuyasu cocked his head to the side as you continued, “it’s uh
 Cooking.” Okuyasu smiled with tears,
“Really? I didn’t think it was that good
”
“It was!” Okuyasu laughed to himself before leaning in and pressing a shy kiss to your cheek,
“Thank you.” You blushed and covered your face as Okuyasu stuttered,
“S-Sorry! I um-!” You lurched forward hugging him and actually knocking the two of you over,
“And you’re very good at making me blush Oku!”
“Does this mean you
?” As you nodded your face buried in his chest Okuyasu chuckled cuddling closer to you. It seemed that his wish had been granted. Apparently he was good at something, and he was looking forward to having you remind him.

Man, god, im just suddenly thinking about "ak/ur/oku" and like.. How the fuck did that even become such a huge thing in early 2000s fandom? Dear god so much early gay shipping in fandom was super unhealthy "sinful" bullshit made by straight people for fetishy purposes rather than genuine representation. But a/kurok/u was such a weird one because it was like.. Just globally accepted and never aknowledged to be problematic?? Man i still remember how lil 13 year old me didnt know there was anything wrong with it, like seriously when stuff like this becomes popularized it ends up sending bad messages to actual queer youth. Learning about your sexuality via the internet cos there's no sex ed irl for you, abd you end up stumbling into toxic fandoms before you have the critical thinking skills necessary to know that this stuff is bad and shouldnt be imitated. Like seriously one of the things i worry about EVERY NIGHT AT 2AM THAT KEEPS ME FROM SLEEPING is that stupid lil 15 year old me made a post on deviantart going like "are pedophiles really all bad? I mean it sounds like an illness. I mean maybe theyre just scared and they want help." Like im terrified constantly that someone will find that old thing and judge me as if i still believe that apologist crap, or as if it was actually an opinion i formed from a fully developed mind, rather than from a kid who (as far as i knew) had never met a pedophile, thinking about pedophiles in the abstract, while being influenced by fuckin pedophile-dominated fandoms and having NO IDEA. and of cooooourse i wanted to believe that i was mature for my age, i thought that was a compliment.. Uuuuugh...
Sorry, going a little offtopic there.
But anyway isnt it kinda weird how akur/oku was just.. Not even regarded as pedophilia? And when i was a kid it wasnt just me not understanding the gross parts of the fandom, i legit never thought axel was that much older than roxas. And it was one of the more popular gay ships cos at that point as far as we knew it was the only person axel had any sort of backstory with, and he cared so much about this guy that he was willing to sacrifice his life to help sora even when he knew roxas would never come back. At the time without further context it seemed like a reasonable assumption to make? And it wasnt until Days that i realized axel was intended to be an adult rather than a teenager, and even worse A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO MADE THAT SHIPPING ART KNEW THAT. Uuugh it was so gross in retrospect to go back and see all the clues i missed that these people were fetishizing roxas's inexperience and veey much writing him as underage. AAAAAAA!
Anyway im glad that shit is now recognized as shit and now we have canon evidence of this dude being old as balls. And honestly i love the relationship of him as a big brother/dad to roxas and xion a lot more, even though as a kid i was desperate for any kind of queer representation in kh. Like.. I never really actually liked the ship that much or felt any chemistry? I just latched onto a few bad writing flubs that could potentially be interpreted as Gay Evidence because i was SO damn desperate! Like i felt like i had to support all these gross abusive ships in fandom cos if i wasnt then i was being 'homophobic', i mean they were THE ONLY AVAILABLE OPTIONS, right? :( Its only now ive grown up i can see how wrong that was, and how people just used it as an excuse to make gross shit and get away with it. Like how in Black Butler all these 'yaoi fangirls' kept erasing the rarest of rare things, a canon trans woman, because 'its sexier if its gay'. Ughhhh. And seriously that discourse still exists for poor Grell, and there's still a lot of these shitty bigoted people pretending to be allies, but like seriously this was EVERYWHERE in 2005! And lgbt rights and even lgbt communities at all were way smaller and less available to the poor teenagers who really needed that positive influence while they were figuring out who they are. So man the abusive side of yaoi fandom was WAY more powerful, and wya more.mainstream, with barely any criticism. And the whole content of this fandom was creepy fuckin adults making pedo porn, and kids who just discovered they were queer and tried to headcanon their favourote characters as being like them. Fucking predator heaven! So yeh that ruined KH for me and definately made me scared of returning to Black Butler for almost a decade. And then i found out that the manga itself has none of that pedo shit and that one of the fandom's biggest abusive gay man archetypes was actually a trans woman this entire time, and just gahhhhh....
Also like seriously this is a tad offtopic but can we kill the anime trope of either everyone looking young or everyone looking old? Or creepy things where just one character looks the wrong age in order to fetishize pedophilia? I dont think kingdom hearts was one of those intentional ones, like i mean there's super bad shit where its like 'this 5 year old looking person is really 9000 years old/actually 18 and just hasnt had their growth spurt yet' (somehow its even more insulting when theres not even a magical excuse) Or the other way around and we have a character thats canonically underage but drawn looking sexually mature with big ol knockers so its somehow okay. The existence of those horrible things is why i end up feeling uncomfortable even seeing ambiguous ages as just a trope in completely innocent anime, yknow? Like in pokemon and digimon all the 10 year old protagonists are exactly the same height as all the adults, and all the female love interests for ash have to be early bloomers in terms of chest and hips, while notably Iris is the only one who actually looks her age and also the first non love interest. Its another reason why i prefer the new art style for the latest season, they make everyone look like kids and Lillie continues to look like a kid even though she's the main girl and has all the cute scenes with Ash. The girls even got very normal looking kiddy swimsuits in the beach episode! Why is that so uncommon, to find the bare minimum thing of underage kids not being sexualized at the beach??
Soooooo yeah, thats at least part of why kid me thought axel and roxas were within a similar age range. Like i thought roxas was maybe 16 and axel was 18?? Somehow?? I dont even know, kingdom hearts isnt even SUPER bad with the 'kids look like older teens, all adults look like age 20 at the most' anime syndrome. Its probably more because id been raised on games and anime that followed that trope, before i played kh. And as a kid you just dont really know the exact differences between 'old', like i mean i knew teenagers were tall and boys get a growth spurt, so somehow it made sense to me that axel could be the same age as roxas?? And man even if i knew he wasnt, i was barely educated at all about pedophilia and i didnt know the nuances of it. I just knew 'its bad for adults to marry kids' like man i was really behind the curve in general learning due to my undiagnosed autism and abusive parenting so like HERE'S 12 YEAR OLD ME NOT EVEN THINKING ABOUT THE SEX ASPECT. And i didnt know that adults in relationships with teenagers was bad too, or like 16/17 year old teens dating kids... I was so fuckin dumb... I really cant believe that not only did i believe stupid adults saying 'pedophilia isnt bad if you're non offending, its okay to make cartoon child porn as long as you dont physically abuse real kids' but also i somehow just DID NOT EVER REALIZE that axel was an adult and roxas wasnt even a goddamn older teen...
So yeh im making a lot of excuses for why my stupid younger self was blindly parroting bullshit, but im not trying to excuse how goddamn wrong and bad it was. I still wake up ashamed in the middle of the night for crapoy decisions i made as a dumb kid, and in terrified that some shreds of it might still exist out there on the internet and maybe someone else could read it?! Gahhhh! Seriously could i have accidentally helped spread that bullshit brainwashing to other kids? And seriously when people say this shit is harmless they just need to look at this, look at how being into problematic yaoi is such a common 'phase' for ACTUAL CHILDREN. Like its not fuckin NATURAL for kids to fall into this stuff, they do it because they dont know any better but the people making the goddamn founding blocks of the fandom are fuckin grown women fetishizing gay men or grown men fetishing lesbians. There's people who do know better who actually conciously decide that a/kurok/u is a good ship while knowing all the goddamn details of what it actually is and exactly what theyre supporting by shipping it. Ughhhhh!
So yeh fuckin Please Stay Safe In Fandom, Kids
And pedophiles have absolutely none of my sympathy, please ignore that goddamn shit i wrote as a little kid being fuckin groomed by a fandom without even knowing it.
This also applies a lot to the rest of LGBT+ aside from just gay shipping, like seriously it took me til age 18 to find any positive representation of trans people or even a proper explanation of what being trans is, yet before i was even 8 years old i'd seen a million 'lol gross man in a dress who gets sexual gratification from wearing women's underwear' jokes in kids shows. And when i was 12 i'd already been exposed to the fuckin hell of m/pre/g thanks to its prevelance of untagged n/sf/w shit in the kh fandom. And by age 15 i'd been exposed to pedophile apologists arguing whether child porn was okay if they only got off to that and didnt personally abuse that kid with their own hands. All of that shit but actually learning about homosexuality and gender in sex ed would have been 'too much' for someone my age...
God what a fuckin mess. Fuck im really really fuckin worried that any of my ignorant comments at those ages could have been read by other ignorant kids and contributed to that disgusting fandom atmosphere. Fuck i think about this so damn often im so damn ashamed of how ignorant i used to be yet i know the adult fuckfaces making pedo shit never reel one lick of shame any damn day of their life. I used to excuse their shit as an actual kid cos i just ASSUMED they would be ashamed and want to seek help! Gahhhh..

@josukeban
Merry Christmas Rachel! I am -mysterious whooshing noises- YOUR SECRET SANTA!
I’m terribly sorry this is a tad late, I tried to do some art but unfortunately it did not turn out well... Instead I have for you some JOSUYASU CHRISTMAS FLUFF!
~THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER~
Josuke yawned and snuggled further under the covers. He heard his mom yelling something at him, but he just wanted a few more minutes. Even if he'd fallen asleep on the floor last night, he was so comfortable there, snuggles right up against—
Wait a minute. He bolted upright, looking down at where Oku lay peacefully nestled into the blanket underneath him. Across from them Yukako and Koichi were tangled together.
“The hot chocolate’s gonna get cold if you don't wake up!”
A big smile spread across Josuke’s face as memories of the previous night flooded back to him. Playing video games cuddled up on the couch with Oku, eating popcorn and chips and everything else they had tucked away in the pantry. He hadn’t had this much fun since this summer, that crazy summer

He and Okuyasu had grown so much closer since then, if that was even possible. Josuke had really panicked over what to get him for Christmas. He thought of getting him his own Playstation, but then Oku wouldn’t have to come over and play games with him so often (okay, maybe that was a bit selfish, but he really really enjoyed the nights they spent together huddled together inches away from the TV screen).
Little did he know, Oku was stuck in the same dilemma. Josuke seemed so happy, like he had everything he wanted. It certainly didn’t help that whenever He asked, Josuke replied “Bro, the only thing I need for Christmas is you!” Then he’d do a little finger gun and wink, and Oku’s face would turn bright red as he looked away. I mean, he could always get Josuke more clothes or accessories, he had seen some things at the mall that he thought would look really good on him. But he already looked perfect in his uniform as it is, and Oku wanted him to get something really special

Josuke heard a small squeak as Koichi, slipped out of Yukako’s grasp and off the couch. She muttered dismayedly in her sleep, reaching out to find where her prized possession had run off too. Koichi rubbed his eyes as he sat awake. He smiled softly.
“Merry Christmas Josuke!” Josuke returned the grin.
“Merry Christmas,”
Yukako rubbed her eyes as she sat up, immediately plopping down to the floor and latching onto Koichi again. Josuke laughed as he looked back at Oku, a mischievous look on his face. He leaned down just inches away from his face.
“Oku
” The boy whined and turned over in his sleep.
“Just
Lemme sleep a few more, kay?”
Josuke playfully walked his fingers up Oku’s bare arm.
“Rise and shine sleeping beauty, or do I gotta give you a kiss to wake up.”
Oku immediately sat up, almost hitting Josuke’s head with his own in the process.
“J-Josuke,” he stuttered out, his face beet red. Josuke’s heart lurched at just how cute Okuyasu looked right now, his cheeks a rosy pink, his hair all messy, his shirt all wrinkled up, his abs
Crap Josuke’s face was starting to turn red now.
“Well, it was the only way to get you up silly!” Josuke chuckled as Oku punched him in the shoulder playfully.
Once they finally woke up and got their hot cocoa, it was time for presents. But Josuke still had a bit of a hard time pulling him away from the Christmas tree. He’d never had one in his own house before, and was dazzled by the shining lights, the glimmering gold and silver of the ornaments. Every time he came over, he spent a lot of time poking at the branches and staring at the flashing lights. But Josuke had to admit, his childlike curiosity was so adorable.
He and Oku cuddled up in a shared blanket as Koichi and his shadow sat back down on the couch. They all looked so excited, not only to receive their presents, but to show what they had gotten for others. Yukako was bouncing up and down so excitedly

“Umm Yukako,” Koichi chuckled, “Does this mean you wanna go first?” Yukako squeaked as she nodded, scrambling over to the tree to get the presents so she could give them herself. She got out two medium size gifts, sort of flat and kind of floppy. Josuke and Okuyasu grimaced a bit. They knew what was inside. She retrieved a large box from under the tree for Koichi, wrapped in sparkling silver wrapping paper with a green bow.
“This is for you sweetie pie!” Koichi laughed as he set the box on the floor and began to unwrap. Yukako was too fixated on Koichi’s reaction to his present to see Josuke and Okuyasu sigh as they unwrapped two badly knitted, garishly decorated Christmas sweaters. They exchanged knowing looks and proceeded to pull them over their head, knowing Yukako might set the tree aflame if they didn’t wear them.
But Koichi actually laughed as he opened the box to reveal about ten more sweaters. Yukako squealed again, hugging him until his face turned red as she whispered. “I hand made them all for you sugar bear!” Koichi muttered a thanks.
Josuke reached for another present under the tree, seeing who it was for.
“Here’s one for Oku!” Oku gasped.
“Who’s it from?”
Koichi chuckled and rubbed his neck.
“It’s from me. And, well, it’s kind of for both of you.” Oku had been in the midst of holding it up to his ear and shaking it when he stuttered out.
“Oh! You should probably open it then Josuke,” But Josuke refused to take the box.
“No, dude. This is practically your first Christmas! You gotta open it and see what it is!”
“Okay,” Okuyasu smiled shyly. “How about
We can both open it at the same time.” Josuke smiled at how cute Oku was acting.
“Of course!” They tore away at either end of the package, opening the box to reveal

“Whoa! These are all my favorite albums!” Josuke laughed as he pulled several Prince CDs out of the box. He looked over at Okuyasu, whose eyes were welling with tears of happiness.
“So many games,” Okuyasu was bursting with delight and childish wonder. Koichi chuckled.
“Yeah, they were kind of expensive so Rohan helped out a bit, but I know you really like playing together
”
Okuyasu tackled Josuke in a hug.
“This is the best Christmas ever!” He positively wept into his shoulder. Josuke chuckled and replied:
“Don’t thank me, thank Koichi!”
Koichi smiled, Yukako still clinging to his tiny form.
“It’s fine, I’m glad you guys like them.” He then realised his girlfriend was staring at him expectantly. “Oh! Of course I have something for you too Yukako!” He stepped up to retrieve a small package from the tree before sitting back down next to Yukako.
Koichi was admiring his new Pink Dark Boy Collector’s edition while Yukako admired the necklace he had given her. There were various chocolates and candies from “Santa Claus,” and Josuke’s mom had brought out a plate of cookies. Only two small presents remained under the tree.
“So umm,” Okuyasu started, running his hand through his hair abashedly. Josuke thought this was The Cutest Thing In the Worldℱ but he didn’t say anything. “I kinda, I wasn’t sure what to get you and I’m kind of nervous, I didn’t know if it was the right thing,” Josuke slipped his hand over Oku’s reassuringly (which certainly didn’t help his blushing situation).
“I’m sure it’s great Oku,” Josuke reached over Okuyasu to grab the small pink and blue wrapped gift. Oku giggled nervously.
“It’s all pink and blue and cute and stuff like your stand,” If he weren’t in front of Josuke right now he would have smacked himself in the head for calling Crazy Diamond “cute”.
“Aww, dude, I love it!” He slowly began to unwrap as Oku shifted nervously. Josuke’s eyes widened as he pulled out two small golden necklaces. On each one was half of a golden heart.
“Y-You see
” Oku started to explain. “One of them’s for me, and one of them’s for you. So, i-it’s like,” He stuttered as he showed how they fit perfectly together. “Like, when we’re together, we’re whole.” Oh god this was such a stupid idea, he was a cheesy idiot, he shouldn’t have done this. Josuke’s face was beginning to turn red.
“U-Umm Oku
” He covered his mouth as the blush spread deeper across his cheeks.
“You don’t like it, do you–”
“Nonono!!! That’s not it, I umm
” He didn’t know what to say, so he just shoved the remaining package in Oku’s direction. Okuyasu wordlessly opened it, struggling a bit with undoing the tie. He gasped.
It was an identical pair of necklaces, the same golden chain, the same heart pendant.
“Dude
” Okuyasu was speechless as tears of happiness start to fill his eyes. Josuke laughed a little.
“I mean, I think the purpose of these necklaces is to say something like ‘I’m not complete without you,’ then I guess if we each have two halves.” He gave one necklace to Okuyasu. “Does that mean, ‘I’m always with you’?”
Okuyasu choked back sobs as he tackled Josuke with a hug.
“This is the best Christmas ever! I love you so so much Josuke!” Both of them laughed and cried in a pile on the floor, surrounded by wrapping paper and candies. Josuke planted a soft kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek.
This really was the best Christmas ever.
Have a very JoJo Christmas and a Bizarreℱ holiday season!

You've probably heard this, but I never imagined I would have been into okugio until now. Thank you!! I would love to see more if you ever decide to draw them again. OwO
Hehe ur in luck! I doodled a lil something yesterday e u e but they're such a cute idea. Oku is similar to Mista in a way, but he's such a simple man that I feel Giorno would wanna spoil him just cuz he wouldnt read any ill intentions from Okuyasu. Although Gio would have to watch his back since Oku is josuke's bro and all :33

Oh my gosh your art and comics are so nice! Josuyasu with messy hair and glasses isn't something I realized I needed until now. Would it be okay if I drew stuff with Okuyasu in glasses too?
Hey, thank you so much!! Oku with glasses really is the cutest thing, but I can’t take credit for any of that content on this blog! A kind anon brought this idea up at one point last year and so I’ve drawn it as per their suggestion. Your art is lovely and I think having you draw Oku in glasses would be a great addition to this unfortunately underrated idea, so please do! ; u ;
