"I would recommend this program to anyone looking to get the fully accredited TEFL/TESOL certificate!"
Fully Accredited TEFL/TESOL Certificate. tefl online pro review, submitted by Martin. I had a great experience with this online program! The consistent proactive feedback and support from my online tutor really helped a lot as I navigated the first few modules (I was completely new to TEFL) and the feedback and advice from my tutor when I was creating my lesson plans (coursework assignments)…

Journal Entry #2 October 4, 2024
I woke up a bit late today because I don’t have any morning classes today. I have to go to campus at 2 PM for my writing test. In school, my favorite tasks are writing, but as I continued my studies as a TESL student, I found it hard to do writing. I felt like I was lacking with my writing skills. I sometimes felt unsure about my writing. I realized that I took more time than I should during the test. I started to worry about my carry marks for semester 1. Is it because I didn’t study enough? Or is it because I was too anxious with my answers? Although I had many questions in my mind, I continued my day like nothing happened. I tend to overthink every time I finish my test. But on the brighter side, at least I did my best during the test. Around 4 PM, I went back to my room to take a rest before I went out to eat with my friends.
At night, I watched a Korean series called Flower of Evil. The drama is filled with suspended scenes. It got me stressed to finish all the episodes. The actors did a really good job with their characters. After that, my friend bought me a cake as an early gift for my birthday tomorrow. I just realized that I will turn 18 tomorrow! I felt excited to be legal, although its just the same every year. I felt nothing has changed except my weight. Before I went to sleep, I read some comics on Webtoon and scrolled through online shops. I am planning to buy myself a gift for my birthday as a reward for my legal year! I ended up buying an anime character figure, Roronoa Zoro, from the series One Piece. I’ve always wanted it since I was 16. But I was waiting for the right time to buy. I think buying this on my birthday is the perfect time!
Sincerely,
Yasmin Kamilia

Immigrate to Canada as a Teacher in 2023
Tumblr media
Canada, with its breathtaking landscapes, diverse communities, and excellent quality of life, has become an appealing destination for many individuals seeking new opportunities. If you are a teacher looking to embark on a new adventure, Canada might just be the place for you. In this guide, we’ll break down the steps to immigrate to Canada PR for Teachers in 2023, making the process understandable and accessible.
Understanding the Canadian Education System
Before diving into the immigration process, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the Canadian education system. Education in Canada is a provincial responsibility, meaning each province and territory has its own education system. The requirements for teaching may vary slightly from one region to another. However, one commonality is the need for qualified and certified educators.
Step 1: Assess Your Qualifications
To teach in Canada, you must first ensure that your qualifications meet the country’s standards. The certification process varies by province, so it’s crucial to research the specific requirements of the province or territory where you plan to work.
Generally, you will need a degree in education and, in some cases, additional qualifications such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certificate. Many provinces also require teachers to be proficient in English or French, depending on the language of instruction.
Step 2: Language Proficiency Test
Since English and French are the official languages of Canada, you may need to prove your proficiency in one of these languages. The most commonly accepted language proficiency tests are the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for English and the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) for French. Achieving the required scores in these tests will strengthen your application.
Step 3: Research In-Demand Provinces
Canada is a vast country with diverse opportunities, and different provinces have varying needs for teachers. Some provinces may have a higher demand for educators in specific subjects or grade levels. Researching which provinces are actively seeking teachers in your specialization can help you make informed decisions about where to focus your efforts.
Step 4: Apply for a Job
Once you’ve identified the province or territory where you want to teach, it’s time to start applying for teaching positions. Many school boards and educational institutions post job openings online, and networking can also play a crucial role in finding job opportunities. Tailor your resume and cover letter to highlight your relevant experience and qualifications.
Step 5: Obtain a Job Offer
Securing a job offer is a critical step in the immigration process. Once you have a confirmed offer of employment, you can proceed with the necessary steps to apply for a work permit and, eventually, permanent residence.
Make sure check this: age limit for international students in canada
Step 6: Work Permit Application
With a job offer in hand, you can apply for a work permit to legally teach in Canada. The work permit is typically issued for the duration of your employment contract. Be sure to gather all required documents, including your job offer letter, educational credentials, and language proficiency test results, to support your application.
Step 7: Permanent Residency Application
While working in Canada, you may consider applying for permanent residency to make your stay more permanent. The Express Entry system is a popular pathway for skilled workers, including teachers, to obtain permanent residency. Factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency are considered in the Express Entry application process.
Step 8: Settle In
Congratulations! You’ve successfully navigated the immigration process and are now ready to start your teaching career in Canada. As you settle into your new life, take the time to explore your community, connect with fellow educators, and immerse yourself in the Canadian culture.
Tips for a Smooth Transition
Understand Cultural Differences: Canada is known for its cultural diversity. Take the time to understand and appreciate the cultural differences you may encounter in your new community.
Network and Collaborate: Building a network of fellow educators and professionals can enhance your teaching experience. Attend local events, join professional associations, and collaborate with colleagues to enrich your teaching practice.
Stay Informed: Keep abreast of changes in education policies, curriculum updates, and professional development opportunities. Staying informed will help you adapt to the Canadian education system more seamlessly.
Embrace Canadian Values: Canadians are known for their politeness, inclusivity, and respect for diversity. Embracing these values will contribute to a positive and fulfilling experience as an educator in Canada.
Conclusion
Immigrating to Canada PR for Teachers in 2023 may seem like a daunting process, but with careful planning and determination, it can be a rewarding journey. By understanding the education system, assessing your qualifications, and following the necessary steps, you can turn your dream of teaching in Canada into a reality. Remember to embrace the new opportunities, build connections, and contribute to the vibrant and dynamic education landscape in the Great White North.

One of the things that I’m thankful about #freelancing is the TIME FREEDOM that I did not get when I was working as a full time employee.
Many people think that some are shifting to freelancing because of $$$ MONEY $$$ (skilled ones can set their professional fees higher than usual). Many people think freelancing is cool and it’s purely easy.
Let me present to you a reality. . .
Freelancing is challenging especially for newbies. To me, it meant exchanging the security of having MONTHLY PAYCHECKS over a NO-WORK-NO-PAY life. To me, it meant GETTING OUT OF THE COMFORT OF RELYING ON MY OWN WIT & INTELLIGENCE over REACHING OUT TO EXPERTS/TOP FREELANCERS & GROUPS. To me, it meant GETTING AT LEAST THREE (3) to FIVE (5) HOURS OF SLEEP EVERYDAY because of studying and specializing my chosen niches while working for a couple of months before I eventually landed to a more comfortable freelancing life (and still, I never stop on upgrading my knowledge and skills on my chosen niches – General Virtual Assistance, HR Administration, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). To me, it meant INVESTING ON THE THINGS that I needed which meant turning my back on the temptations of buying my wants over my needs to save up for what I needed in freelancing. I know that every #freelancer, most especially those who came from corporate world, would know that it can’t just happen instantly – where you wake up one day and decide to quit your job and do freelancing.
In my case, I didn’t switch to freelancing just because I saw the grass was greener when it comes to $$$$$$$, but because of TIME FREEDOM – I wanted to have more time to spend with my family and friends, and more time to do the things that I love to do – explore places I’ve never been, do food trips at any cost, advocate for children. I also got hooked in helping students, individuals and companies in growing their businesses. It’s like hitting two birds with the same stone.
Before I end this note, I’d like to add that THE GRASS CAN BE GREENER ON THIS SIDE OF THE FENCE, but only if we water them. We all start with an empty lawn. It doesn’t matter how small our beginnings are, we just have to be consistent with our efforts and always GO ABOVE and BEYOND!

Endemic Pandemic
Part 1:  Seattle as the Epicenter
How did it all start?  First, it was STEP A, everyone from China, talking about it and one student bemoaning the fact that some people in Wuhan, China will eat anything.  It seems eating a diseased bat started it, as contact with a monkey started AIDS.  That group made it back and we had a fun time.  The next two-week class was canceled because travel from China had been suspended.  I skipped the next group to go to Mexico with Rene and Anne, and started the fourth group with a reduced group.  After only one week, the UW decided to cancel in-person classes and that program ended.  Now, there is the worry that I may not even have enough work to retire as I had planned.  I started job hunting as soon as we heard the program will probably close the end of summer.  Now, it's the start of spring quarter, and we only have 20 new students (as opposed to a healthy 80).  Moreover, these classes may have to be on-line, so I'll have to learn a program called Zoom.  All the signs are pointing to me getting out of this career and Rene is talking about getting out of the country.  China and Iran took the biggest initial hits, then Italy closed down.  Just today, 3/11/2020, Dumptr canceled all flights to and from Europe, except for England, who Brexited earlier this year.  Also, today, the public schools followed the university's precedent, and closed down, as did the Burke Museum.  The governor has banned any meetings over 250 people.  Any meetings over 13 are discouraged and on my way back from the gym, which is still open, the train was mostly empty, with the buses being just a little fuller.   You see people in masks, bus drivers, students until the classes were cancelled, doctors and nurses, shoppers, passers by.  It's all disconcerting.  People are over reacting, in my opinion...the North Dakotan whose bus driver always made it through when all the others cancelled.
Facebook and Instagram are double edged swords.  First, it is and always has been a community of contact at a time when face to face contact has decreased steadily over the years.  (Ironically, it's been decreasing directly because of the technology that gave us Facebook in the first place!)  I send a photo of a candle burning for all our brothers and sisters across the world to my Greek pagan witch friend Vas.   I am at home after going to our favorite neighborhood coffee shop this morning with the dog (hoping to see its friend Pinky there), only to find out that they are closing, due to the uncertainty.  There are those who say that what is happening now in Italy will happen here, too.  It's only a matter of time.
Speaking of FB, I'm chatting on line now with Alban, my brother-from-another-life teacher friend in France, where everything is still normal.  We talked about how people are getting into being the characters in an epidemic horror film and acting accordingly.  We both acknowledge the advantages of learning in the flesh, but also know people are lazy and always take the easy way out.  Even as we communicated, President Macron issued the edict to close all schools and universities starting Monday.  I look outside to the sunny March day and think similar days greeted the Spanish Flu and the Black Death.  At least this one is not smelly.
Here's the resume I have sent:

a week, we had done some bonding and I was remembering the difference between the two girls with similar, to me, names.
Like the 1918 Spanish Flu, which took my grandmother Voeller and Catherine Thomas' husband, starting the huge Voeller clan, the last dying before this next-100-year epidemic took hold.  It centered in a nursing home in Kirkland, and has taken mostly the elderly.  Some say it is cleaning out the dark, negative energy.
Part 2:  Two Months in
It's now been over two months since people were sent to their rooms to thinking long and hard about what they have done...to the
Mother, to Gaia.  Yesterday was Mother's Day and I posted photos both of my mother and Gaia in celebration of the day.  I have picked up a variety pack of online friends...Roial Co (Philippine Reiki Master (I attuned him from 2 to 3 over the phone in an hour-long ceremony last weekend.  He could be part of the soul family...other members being Kim, Aric, Bob, Bachir, Robert, Vivian, Paki, Roy, Cynthia, Alban for sure), Mahamed, Eryk (also for sure), Samuel and the latest...Randy.  There could be up to 90 scattered across the planet at this time...like shatters of glass (Roi).  I'm almost to the point where I can start writing in my books again.
The state was supposed to go into what is called "Stage 2" on June 1, five days from now, but people are still dying (up to 100,000 in the states, 300,000 worldwide) so now it's mid-month.  More monetary help is on the way.  The veil is thinning.  Strange events are starting to become common.  I am meeting good people around the world on social media.  We send money to Samuel after vetting him, but Kelvin Moore turns out to be a Yemeni hack.  Oh well.  My gardens, on the other hand, are glorious and giving me much pleasure.  I have fresh flowers here at my little at home desk and downstairs on the kitchen counter.  The ones at my office desk are from the top deck and the ones on the counter are from the east English garden.  I am trying to attract elves and fairies to both gardens and have started playing my harp out there, with melodies that come to me from the plants' exhalations.  I installed a lady bug house at the base of the climbing vines and will sit out there when the weather gets better and it's supposed to reach record heat this summer.  Yikes.  Along with world pandemic, murder hornets, ravaging storms and the 17 year cadydid cycle falling on 2020, a record heat wave and resulting fires are just par for the course.
Going out in public these days, at least here in the city, you would see that nearly everyone has a mask on.  It's a bit disconcerting looking at eyes above various colors of masks, the new item of outer wear.  The cute barista wore a black one, the owner a bandanna, his wife, the chef, a more medical-looking surgical mask, the lady in front of me, a homemade jobby.  Out in the boonies, there is a culture war between those who believe we need to wear masks to protect both ourselves and others and those who believe that it's all a hoax and it's a way for the government to muzzle us, limit our freedom.  Both sides see the other as sheeple.
Part 3:  Month 6
It's now 70 days until November 3 and as Antonio from Spain said, "At the end of the day, it's up to a few Floridians, a bunch of Ohioans and a handful of Michiganians to decide the future of mankind..."  The DNC went better than anyone had expected, with great speeches from both Michelle and Barack Obama, the AOC, Kamala Harris and culminating with one by Biden, himself.  This week, the shit show in a burning dumpster called teh RNC has started with hysterical screaming and drug-induced ramblings laying all blame the the Dems and predicting a daily reality of lawlessness, rioting and burning cities if Biden gets elected.  Only 70 days until we decide whether to stay in this country, or like our ancestors, try our luck in a new one:  Mexico, Spain or Portugal are the top runners right now.  We plan to go south to check out Flagstaff and Sedona, Arizona this Christmas.  Last Christmas, it was El Paso, Alpine and Marfa, Texas and Los Crucas, New Mexico.
I am on the break between summer and fall...noteably the longest one of the year, often five weeks.  I usually go back to North Dakota during this time, but that's not happening this year, probably never again.  The last time I was there, I was suffering from depression and I had a feeling I would not be seeing it again.  Best to leave it to my memories of happier days there when the people I grew up with were still alive.
This divide in the country, instigated by Russian bots and carried out by Puppet Dumpster, has been the last straw, the one to have broken the camel's back that was my family connection.  Foreseen by my late sister Lori, when she said (in response to whether it was now my job to keep the family together), "We are all adults now.  If anyone decides to never see the others again, then that's up to them, not you."  First, it was LaVonne who stopped texting or answering my texts.  Then, Dennis stopped answering my phone calls and stopped calling as well.  Rosie and Jamie are still cyber-stalking me on Facebook and Instagram (Rosie made an Instagram account as soon as I said I was leaving FB in disgust.  She has never posted anything and has no photos in her folder...she just checks to see what I'm up to.)  I stopped posting political craziness last week as it was becoming too much work to research what was fear-inducing truth and what was fear-inducing fiction.  The tainted GOP is all about striking fear into the hearts of anyone who will listen to their rabid rantings.
Another week, another innocent black man shot by racist white police.  Then, to add insult to injury, a trumped up 17 year old from Illinois goes across the border to shoot two protesters, walking by police to go home and then turn himself in the next day.  (It comes out later that he shot the first victim in the back, and that his mom drove him to the protest, as if it were a soccer practice!) I had to break my political silence on FB, which I have just decided I will have to leave.  I don't know if I can deal with Liker, the current alternative, either.  It's the brainchild of some guy who saw where FB was going in 2012 and decided people needed an option.  They need an option, all right.  The option to opt out of social media, the new Dolls of the 2010s and now 20s.
I wake up early on 8/27/2020 and disable my Facebook account.  I can't quite go cold turkey and get rid of Messenger along with it, because there are some people on there I still want to support.  This is the second time I have tried to do this.  After 13 years (is that all?  It seems half my life!), it's a main social outlet that I am moving away from.  Especially now, in the time of pandemics, it will be more isolating, but the vitriol and Hate being spewed forth is out of balance with what's really out there...I hope.  There were those who had to spew the venom that the skateboarder that was killed, a gentle, long-haired hippy soul, deserved to die.  I can not relate nor be exposed to such unadulterated hate.  Their minds have been poisoned by no other than the POTUS, (and the institutionalized racism/hate behind him) as well as hate speech on line.  My family has succumbed to the Fear of the Other as well.  So be it.  It may mean leaving the country if this upcoming election is stolen like the last one was.  I refuse to believe that a majority of people in this country have drunk the Kool-aid.
Reading "The Witches are Coming" by Lindy West is giving me more insight, a chance to laugh and even some hope.
"Our propensity for always, always, always choosing what is comfortable over what is right helped pave the road to this low and surreal moment in US history."
Part 4:  Month 7
From September 8 to 18, Seattle was socked in under a cloud of ash from the fires down south.  I could feel the ashes of the bodies the those who died, as well as the chemicals of the burnt human structures.  Breitenbush Hot Springs lay in ashes with only the main buildings saved.  I could feel the heaviness in my lungs.  Mishka could sense it and acted out by peeing outside the box.  On the 14th, it finally rained some and we still have more days to endure.  I got up from epic dreams of lost family (my mom, That Bitch Denis, DJ, my nieces who my mom prepared us for so they could come in and check us out sleeping) and went out into the acid rain to witness it.  The craziness coming from the POTUS and media intensifies as it's now 50 days till the election.
Then, when it seems to be darkest before the dawn, the triple threat of the GOPruients, COVID-19 and the death-ash from the west coast fires, we find on the evening of 9/18/20 that the Notorious RBG, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, justice of the SCOTUS, died at 87, after having fought numerous ailments, including cancer.  That bitch, Moscow Mitch immediately states the Senate will vote on a replacement even before the body is cold, even though in 2016 he said that the people of the US should have a say in the next SCOTUS, therefore, the appointment should wait until the election of the new president...blocking Obama in this last year, from appointing one.  This will enable the Dumpster in his last weeks to appoint another conservative, anti-abortionist.
It becomes harder to grasp what is actually going on..these times are so unprecedented in our life times, though to those of us for whom AIDS was an epidemic, this is our second time around fearing for our lives.  We know it's a long haul with many casualties before we come out on the other side, but whatever was normal no longer will be.
We go out for healthy burgers at Little Big Burger, where you can get a lettuce wrap in the place of a bun.  We are both on edge and irritable and go to our separate corners after we eat in silence to grieve in our own way.  Me typing here with all my altar lights on and a candle burning by the RBG candle, as the first fall rains sound outside, clearing the air for the first time in 10 days.  The temptation to sell the house and leave the country is strong.  The need to stay and fight on will probably prevail, but may not take the re-election of the anti-Christ, the embodiment of the Seven Deadly sins:  pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth,

hello friends! i hope you’re staying happy and healthy and AT HOME.
i’m here to ask for a little bit of help and a signal boost! as an online teacher, the platforms i’ve been working with have recently been busy. i’m trying my best to build up my clientele while everyone is at home, and part of doing so with these companies is referring new teachers.  if you’re looking for a way to make some extra income while at home, please give this a shot if you qualify! to be transparent here: i do get a monetary compensation when someone joins as a teacher using my code and teaches their first class. this would help me out greatly during a time like this, and in return you get a pretty cool side job where you can make money from home (social distancing, yeah!).

*please note this list and the information is by no means comprehensive. i included links to either the official website or websites with reliable information that go into detail regarding pay, class times, etc. these companies are great if you need some extra income while you’re at home. i will say that teaching online can at times be unreliable, however, if you’re at home anyways and worried about money, it’s 100% worth a shot. i’ve had mostly great experiences with all 3 companies. you can google / youtube reviews and the pros and cons as well as additional advice for applications and mock classes. thank you so much and stay happy and healthy!

No. We never use local language in the classroom, don’t worry if you think that sounds strange, when you do our sponsored TEFL course it will become clear how we do this. Most cities in China have English road signs. Most restaurants have food in English, if not they generally have pictures. Learning some basic survival Chinese when you arrive, such as addresses for taxis and some food is recommended though just to make things a bit easier. In most large cities you can even order food using apps in English.
Is there a specific start date for the job?
You can apply and start to teach with EF any time. We have limited vacancies all year round.
If you are graduating this year, you can start teaching after you have the certificate. However, the best time to apply is now so you have plenty of time to prepare.
I don’t have a teaching background, can I still apply?
Yes. Previous teaching experience is not necessary, but is valued if you have it. We will give you all the skills you need to help you feel confident standing in a classroom. As long as you have a bachelor’s degree in any subject we can help you with the rest.
Will I be able to save money?
Yes, although it does depend on your lifestyle. The salary is above  average for China and Indonesia so there’s normally some left at the end  of the month to save or to pay off student loans. If you share an  apartment with other teachers and eat asian food you will have more left  than if you have your own place and eat western style food every day.
I have never lived abroad before will it be difficult to adjust?
It shouldn’t be too difficult to adjust, we have a huge community of English teachers across China who help and support each other. We have our own social network for teachers to ask questions and look for assistance. Along with that we have organized social and cultural events for our teachers most of which are free, to help them meet other teachers and to understand local culture.

Okay, hopefully last post so i can do my dang hw, but good life update, bc i don’t put those here too much anymore! So i mentioned before that we’re trying to be a language teacher. We’ve considered  being a teacher for a hot minute, LOVE language, love kids, really want to make a positive impact in kids lives of some kind. We don’t like english, but that seems to be the direction we’re going rn, which is more or less fine bc the long term goal has always been being able to go to new places. First country goal is s korea bc they actually compensate their teachers REALLY well, and yuh boy would really like to actually feel like they’re not struggling, and be able to still send money back home to their mom. With all of this said, i haven’t just said i want to this, i’ve mapped out short term goals i need to accomplish to ensure i will get hired when i apply, and I’m actually working on them?! One of the big ones was i wanted to do some ESL tutoring here because 1) irl practice before i start the job 2) i’m going to need a recommendation letter from people who can attest that i could probably teach english to korean students This got more nervousing (???) since covid happened bc so much is closed including a lot of ESL tutoring places around. I looked online again though for any recent “looking for volunteers” and found one for a korean association in my city????? i didn’t even know it existed, and they actually replied back to my inquiry and have talked to me about next steps like!!! if that’s not a good sign yo Also, working on getting my tesl certification while finishing up school things bc i need that dumb degree before anything else. But yes, it’s going to happen. We OUT here

How To Better Prepare Yourself To Teach English Abroad https://www.transitionsabroad.com/publications/magazine/0401/teaching_english_abroad.shtml
You can start planning to teach English abroad in the future even during the first year of your program. Here is a brief list of possibilities, with references for each:
Read up on the profession. Understand what kinds of opportunities to teach English abroad are available. Make sure you know the qualifications for specific jobs. Here are some of the best places to begin your homework:
Starting Your Career in TESOL and many other resources.
   TESOL Job Discussion Forums
* Become an active member of TESOL and related online communities. Volunteer. * Attend a conference. * Give a presentation on any teaching idea you have. Getting your face out there is important as you prepare for your job search, and you can do this by becoming involved in a local TESOL society or organization.
Because many conference attendees are looking for practical ideas for the classroom, you (or perhaps a group of TESL colleagues) could present some teaching ideas on any of the skills areas (e.g., how to use comic strips to teach listening and speaking skills).    In addition to seeing your name on the conference program, you can add this presentation to your résumé.
Find out what jobs are available where you want to go. Talk to people. Ask questions. Consider all possibilities. A number of websites carry information about jobs overseas, but try to talk personally with people who have spent time in the field.
Remember that each person’s experience will be colored by their own expectations, perceptions of the world, and their working situations.
Publish an article in a newsletter, magazine, or journal. If you have been a student of TESL or other related study, what are you going to do with all those papers you wrote for your university classes?
Why not put them to work for you? Often, students don’t see the potential usefulness of their ideas—a teaching tip or article that educators are looking for to spice up their classes.
A good place to begin is to write a book review. Many TESL-related journals and magazines encourage and welcome submissions from students as well.
Besides sharing your ideas with others, you can add this effort to your résumé. Few recently-graduated students or other prospective teachers will have done this, so publishing can set you apart from the crowd.
Work toward advancing your degree if TESOL is your goal. Having a bachelor’s degree in TESL or in any other field is usually the minimum requirement for teaching jobs in most countries and a master’s in TESL or a related field is needed for some jobs, particularly in higher education.
There are a variety of options for securing an MA. Distance learning is becoming a realistic choice for many who are working overseas, far away from schools that offer such degrees. Consult TESOL Graduate Schools for more information.
Prepare yourself for your job search to teach English abroad. Despite the best preparation, a poor interview can jeopardize your chances of landing your ideal job. Editor's note: please see The TEFL Job Interview: The Ten Most Important Questions to Ask for more.
A career in a TESL-related field can be extremely satisfying. You can have a meaningful impact on so many lives. Understanding the profession and preparing yourself adequately for an overseas teaching position will go a long way to ensuring positive experiences to teach English abroad for you and your students.

Adobe InDesign training Toronto
Adobe InDesign is a program that allows users to design, layout, and publish professional looking documents. This software has been rebranded by Adobe Corp. and was previously known as Pagemaker. It is one of the best programs for digitally publishing a printed piece, such as brochures or magazines or books and posters or albums.
We offer Adobe InDesign training in Toronto Centre on office hours at our Design Training Institute in Toronto Central Business District (CBD). We can also provide our students with onsite IT services such as computer setup and repair for their projects at Central Station graduate student housing (near campus) if needed. Our goal is to teach students how to be independent digital authors with their own brand. Students learn the ins and out of Adobe InDesign and learn skills that will help them prepare for job interviews, participate in an InDesign contest sponsored by Adobe or even start their own graphic design company. Our Adobe InDesign training program is a one-year part-time program that meets all the requirements for graduation from diploma and degree granting institutions, such as Humber College, Centennial College and Seneca College.
Adobe InDesign Training Torontois a TESL certified training provider with 13 years of experience teaching English to adults. We are 100% online available 24/7 dedicated to bringing English language skills to our students across Canada.
We can also help you with your resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job search and study abroad applications. We have international experience teaching students from around the world in Toronto and we are experienced with Career Services Canada (CSC), Employment Ontario (EO) and Ontario Works (OW).
As the demand for our skills are increasing, major companies seek for InDesign certified professionals to work for them as web developers or graphics designers. But not all people can afford to pay thousands of dollars to learn these skills from expensive institutes such as Seneca College or Humber College. Our Adobe InDesign training program is an affordable solution for those who wish to become graphic designers.
We have students who have graduated from Humber, Centennial and Seneca College, who are now employed at Adobe as digital designers. We have students who are studying at Humber, Centennial and Seneca College part-time working on their studies while also taking part in Adobe internships.
Adobe InDesign training Toronto is an accredited member of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). This association ensures the training provider has met the quality standards required by accreditation to provide continuing education or training for professionals or others.

Application Process
For this entry I'm going to be addressing all things needed when you're ready to apply for schools, companies or recruiting agencies. I'll also be offering some tips that I think will be useful or to be kept in mind during this process. Now, remember, the tips are most likely going to be from my own experience so it would be nice if you were able to apply this and other advice to reach what works best for you.
From the very jump I knew I couldn't apply directly to public schools because I would be overlooked. Why? Most Puerto Ricans, as American as we may be, aren't considered qualified to receive a work visa with the Korean government, allegedly. Now, this is the questionable part. In my journey to achieve what I want, I've met many Puerto Ricans before who have been able to receive a work visa and have worked as English teachers. If you do enough research, you know that you would have had to study in the United States for a certain amount of years, among other things, to be an exception. Most of the people I was able to hear from were born in Puerto Rico and studied their whole lives there with a few months of living in the States or never having been. So, these weren't special scenarios. So it's not impossible to make it over there... legally, mind you.
Public schools are very strict, from their requirements to their application period. One little slip and you won't be qualified or would have to wait for the next semester. However, if you meet all requirements you are safest applying through their programs or a recruiter working with them. However, you can't be as picky as you would with private schools. Why? Because you may want to teach in Seoul but be placed in Jeju. It's purely off of what they have available and what positions they need to fill. Remember, in this case, the recruiter isn't the one placing you in a school. They're simply connecting you with the public school program for you to then be placed in a school. You aren't taking as big a risk with public schools. You'll get good treatment for the most part, you'll get proper housing and you will be paid on time.
My experience isn't this, so I couldn't share much. I knew pretty early on that I would have to achieve this with the help of private schools or Hagwon and, hopefully, a recruiter.
Early on, hearing "Hagwon Horror Stories" is pretty terrifying when you're taking the risk of traveling across the world. Hagwons are not private schools in South Korea. They're academies. Private schools are schools that teach all of their subjects in English. Most stories talk about being mistreated or having a contract cut off, etcetera. While this is a risk you're taking, I have been assured that good schools do exist because of social media and the internet. Hagwons or private schools have realized that if they treat their teachers badly, those teachers can share their experience and these schools won't want to be worked with. Of course, being a teacher isn't perfect. Everyone has a job to do and just because people joke about this being an easy job, doesn't mean it's going to be that way. Expect moody people, expect to be scolded if you do something wrong. This happens in all jobs. Especially if you consider Hagwons and private schools being places where parents are paying for their children to receive the best education possible. Everyone is going to want good results.Just make sure to do your research and be vigilant. Ask questions. Trust your gut. Even when you have a recruiter. Be determined on what you want.
Now with all of this being said, why don't we jump into the list of things you want to get done ahead of time:
You have to be a citizen of a recognized English-speaking nation. This could be the U.S.A., U.K., Ireland, (some parts of) Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
A Bachelor's degree in any major, as long as it is 4 or more years and from an accredited college or university. Pretty self-explanatory, right? Though, I do know of many recruiters who don't mind you applying to them during your last semester. Just as long as you can assure them that you will be finishing during that semester. I, personally, decided to officially finish my degree before applying anywhere.
A TEFL or TESL certificate of at least 120 hours. These are also known as TESOL. It stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Currently I am completing my TEFL course. Many recruiters have deals on certified TEFL/TESL, so do ask them about it or you can always look into it for yourself. However, this isn't a suggested requirement. Not anymore at least. I would like to teach in Seoul, which is a very competitive location, so being as prepared as possible is required to get what you want.
Resume and Cover Letter. Again, you want to be as prepared as you possibly can. This is why preparing a solid resume and cover letter is key. The cover letter is mostly what will attract schools or recruiters to take a look at your resume, so make sure you leave them something to be interested in looking into. Your resume is where you can present more of your experience.
You might also be asked if you have any of the following documents. This is where you can make a simple mistake like having the documents too early and then having them expire. It's okay, though. Remember, you can also redo them.
Documents you might need:
FBI Background Check. This process used to take up to 10-14 weeks before, but luckily it takes only a few days now. You can even have it e-mailed first to get a copy even earlier IF DONE ELECTRONICALLY. This is where you send the request electronically, then send all the necessary documents to the FBI. They will already be waiting for the documents. Make sure you also request the option of receiving the response by First-Class Mail. This will give you a physical copy sent by them in a quicker fashion. For more information you can visit this link
Sealed University or college transcripts. Make sure to have a few transcripts in their individual envelopes. Some might even suggest the envelope be sealed with the official university or college seal on the back, as well as a signature and date from the person in-charge to make sure the envelopes weren't tampered with. Just make sure you order a transcript for yourself to keep.
An original passport that has been valid for at least a year. You won't have to send this to them, but you will be asked for a photocopy. This is all to receive your working visa.
The FBI background check and your Bachelor's degree will have to be notarized and apostilled. Your recruiter will provide much more helpful information on this, since it needs to be done carefully. You can also look online to become more familiarized with what this is and how you can do it.
There are also a few additional requirements but those are more situation specific. For example, some might ask you to have a health and drug check before looking for the job while some might require you to take that health and drug check over in South Korea in the school. Make sure to be clear with your recruiter or school on medication you may be taking as it might be what keeps you from getting a job and, honestly, it's best to not get a job than going to jail. Having a nice professional photo, one with children and also a more casual picture wouldn't hurt. Actually, I suggest this. Think of it as additional points for you. You can also have proof of full-time teaching jobs, a teaching license or certificate. This might bump up your pay. I've even heard of people doing Korean-like resumes to appeal to the schools, or even video introductions.
This might be overwhelming and seems like a lot, and it is, but remember the more prepared you are the better. Just don't be over prepared. I made that mistake and have had my FBI check sadly expire, which means it needs to be redone. No big deal, though! I was able to apply to a recruiting agency who is very willing to work along with me. You might be nervous and you might be overwhelmed, but it all works out for the best. Keep working hard!
