I’d love to experiment with someone’s body. I frequently deal with dangerous chemicals and equipment, so I’d want to inject them to see what happens. Prick your eye with an ionic needle, make your lungs burn with disorientating fumes, see how your different layers of skin react to different substances. I’d make my own synthetic compounds just to see how your body would digest it.

Protein design has seen significant progress, but a comprehensive deep-learning framework for protein design, including de novo binder design and higher-order symmetric architectures, remains unexplored. Diffusion models have shown success in image and language generative modeling but have limited success in protein modeling due to the complexity of protein backbone geometry and sequence-structure relationships. 
The University of Washington researchers demonstrate this by optimizing the RoseTTAFold structure prediction network for tasks including protein structure denoising. In order to design therapeutic and metal-binding proteins, researchers have developed a generative model of protein backbones that performs exceptionally well in unconditional and topology-constrained protein monomer design, protein binder design, symmetric oligomer design, enzyme active site scaffolding, and symmetric motif scaffolding. Scientists experimentally characterize the structures and functionalities of hundreds of planned symmetric assemblies, metal-binding proteins, and protein binders to show the versatility and power of the RoseTTAFold diffusion (RFdiffusion) approach.
The goal of protein design is to produce proteins with particular structural and functional characteristics, like catalytic sites, binding interactions, and topological folding. Robust machine learning models, known as denoising diffusion probabilistic models (DDPMs), have various characteristics that make them ideal for protein design. By denoising data tainted with Gaussian noise, DDPMs provide a variety of outputs that are quite similar to training data. With conditioning knowledge, they can direct the iterative generation process towards particular design goals. Rotationally equivariant DDPMs can model three-dimensional (3D) structures globally, regardless of frame, for protein design applications.

getting back into ace attorney came so out of left field for me mostly because i was Too deeply entrenched in it in 2020 to the point where i hated it for a few years but also because last summer i was high off my shit at 3 am as a result of some evil synthetic edible i took too much of and i was lowkey freaking out so i decided to start playing ace attorney again to distract myself and i pulled it up and realized i forgot how to read. i somehow got halfway through the tutorial case of as1 and then quit without saving cause i got scared

NICE guidelines advise treating PPT if symptomatic even if TSH is below 10 but if I'm refused medication I cannot for one minute imagine myself mustering the courage to say so. Pray 4 me that when I call tomorrow I get either a nice understanding doctor or one who doesn't really care and will just prescribe stuff

one of my most cherished memories is being at a friends house as a teenager, maybe the third or so time i got high, smoking a hero's dose of spice or somesuch synthetic weed,
i had sequestered myself away to the bathroom, living life in like two second increments with ten second pauses inbetween to think. sat on the toilet, pants down, eating a massive piece of nougat chocolate with my bare hands, melting it, making a mess all over my hands, thighs, underwear, and the floor,
and sloooowly realizing that oh! this does not look good at all, not at all, and over several minutes easing in to this delicious panic trying to clean myself and my surroundings, laughing like a maniac all the while at how bad i messed up, still being clueless and getting chocolate fingerprints on the handles, windowsill, etc.
in the end i managed to clean it all up just fine and nobody even noticed i was gone because they were, too, very much fucked up on drugs

Protein design is important for personalized medicine and drug discovery. Generative models for protein structures prove to be especially useful in these areas. Traditional methods of protein design- for example, Rosetta- do this by solving optimization problems for the sequence that minimizes energy functions. Such methods are often effective but can frequently be very computationally demanding; hence, they are limited by the accuracy of the underlying energy functions. Enter deep learning: a game-changing approach that has already shown huge potential in understanding the complex relationships between protein sequences and their functions. 
Researchers from Profluent Bio, Berkeley, USA, introduce ProseLM, a deep learning model that overcomes the limitations of general protein language models by using graph knowledge and the scaling trends of underlying language models. It also includes non-protein contexts.
Why are Protein Language Models so Powerful?
Deep learning models, specifically protein language models, have moved significantly toward deciphering the complicated language of proteins. For example, ProGen2 models learn solely from protein sequences, applying self-supervised learning techniques such as predicting masked amino acids. They can capture essential structural and functional properties of proteins that turn into precious tools in protein design.

I know i’m functionally a gay DARE officer at this point but I do in fact feel some sort of way about Cocaine being back in vogue. Surely I sound like a square + narc and I’ll concede ok do whatever you want, nobody can materially stop another person from using drugs if they really want to 🤷🏻 I don’t really care that it’s hip to do party drugs, moreso I want to articulate a general level of caution and concern that I never see a sidecar of harm reduction and safe using practices along with the commonplace clips of people straight up snorting coke I’ve seen for “brat summer!!!1!!”
You 🫵 are not immune to ingesting fentanyl or any number of other additives. Do you think drugs at the gay club are different than the drugs people are taking under bridges and in gutters? I promise they’re not! So if you want to use drugs and continue being alive, do your part to be safe. Protecting yourself protects others and your community.
Do not accept drugs from strangers. Test your drugs with fentanyl test strips. Carry narcan and know how to administer it. Never use alone. Have an exit strategy if you’re using drugs in a public space. Know the contact information for your local harm reduction groups, overdose emergency hotline, and if you need/want it, addiction treatment orgs. This is all the bare minimum for community care if you intend to be out in the world using drugs. Mainly I encourage you all to be buzzkills if it means you don’t have to die of an accidental overdose. Overdose is the leading cause of death for Americans under 40. I have a whole lot of social workers in my network and however bad you think the synthetic opioid crisis is, it’s worse. The war stories I’ve heard from my people on the ground are… The shit of nightmares. Don’t let it be you or anybody you love.
