You know what's funny? For someone who's often said in-universe to be simple, Hibiki is surprisingly compelling to watch. She's kind. She likes to help others, but she has just enough other character attributes that make her fun to watch, but she also makes her mental emotional physical struggles worth watching. Like, throughout GX, we see her how upset and frustrated about how her fists can only really solve "simple" problems, but never the " complicated" ones in the world, or in the S1, where she realizes, with Ogawa's help, that while she can't replace Kanade, she wishes to still carry on her words.
Also, her relationship with Miku is super sweet and incredibly gay.

this might be my favorite line in all of symphogear. there are few lines that hit this hard. theres just so many levels to this. tsubasa had shut down her emotions after she lost kanade. when kanade was alive she seemed more expressive and full of life. and then she lost kanade and went blank. this is the first time in the series she requests anything even remotely self serving. and she does it on stage, at the same place she lost kanade. its a scene and stage set up to bring closure to tsubasa's grief and trauma. and she makes a completely harmless request convinced that the world wont let her have anything, and she hears kanade's voice in her head telling her this. and she cries, openly and proudly. its. so brilliant
that doesnt even touch on the song they chose for the background music
its an instrumental arrangement of gyakko no flugel, which is the duet tsubasa and kanade sung in episode 1. and her speech is timed with the music such that it builds to the uhhh refrain? i might be using the wrong word. anyway. it builds to the big part and the music totally pauses for kanade to say her line. and the music comes back. they leave this musical hole for kanade to speak, and then they fill it in as if filling tsubasa with the confidence she needs to keep moving. the song initially starts with a little less confidence, its timid and doesnt take up as much space, but after kanade speaks, it gets more defined and confident and takes the forefront of your attention. its just brilliant

I think Symphogear ended at a really good spot and they shouldn’t make any more seasons because I like when things have a beginning and an end. HOWEVER. I think there should be One (1) movie. I don’t care what the plot is. But it should be wild, over the top, have a couple of insane scenes to rival the space shuttle suplex, and MOST importantly
There should be a scene, preferably close to the beginning. Hibiki and Miku are out doing something together, at a cafe or something. Then the Conflict starts, and while people are fleeing, Miku briefly grabs Hibiki’s hand before she can run towards the chaos. Hibiki looks back at Miku. At first, you think perhaps that Miku is going to ask Hibiki not to go and fight like she has in previous series conflicts.
But Miku just gives her that soft, loving smile with just a tinge of sadness and exasperation. She whispers something along the lines of “I know you have to. It’s what I love so much about you.” Hibiki smiles really big back at her, squeezing her hand.
Then they kiss. It’s extremely casual, Hibiki just leans in to give Miku the quickest “see you in a minute” peck on the lips, and then runs off to fight. Neither of them overreact to this. It should be Immensely clear to everyone watching that this is not the first time they have kissed, that they got together somewhere off screen and they’re now just an Established Relationship.
The rest of the movie has absolutely nothing to do with their romantic relationship outside of their regular screaming each other’s names thing they like to do in every series. Absolutely nothing else should change EXCEPT maybe Chris teases them for being “lovebirds” exactly once.
This is extremely important to me. I just want it to be SO casual. Just like. Yeah, they’re an item now? Obviously? We don’t need a movie about them getting together or having relationship troubles at all that was what all 5 seasons were for.

Actually, fictional atrocities are inherently more interesting when women do them and dare I say, even kind of hot.

Meet my Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja OC from the fic series (AO3 link (it's on Wattpad too) at end of post) Samurai series main OC Rei Suzuki!
Rei comes from Tokyo and is the true heir to the Suzuki family name (despite her father rather have it be a boy) and had moved to Norrisville during summer break alongside her father, step family and the family servant such as her right hand maid and butler Corina Rodriguez and Niles Tanaka
When Rei was a child before her mother died she was bright, cheerful and loved to sing with her mother but after her mother died and was shoved into the care of her right hand maid and butler by her father (even more so after his remarriage) Rei grew more cold and distant while also maturing quickly for her age, sharp tongued, aloof, serious and around people she doesn't like or trust (which includes a lot of her family) aggressive and defensive and kept two vows after her mother's death
Never sing again
And never sing her mother's lullaby
Unfortunately with becoming the Samurai; a warrior like the Ninja who uses her voice to strengthen herself and her allies and can weaken even the strongest of dark magic to her blades, she breaks the first vow, mostly using the excuse she's the Samurai when she sings in that suit so she isn't really breaking the vow
As Rei spends more time around Randy, Howard and Heidi she begins to open up more as she was as a kid before her mother's death
She even starts to sing normally again (she joins Randy and Howard's band 30 Seconds to Math as their lead singer)
As much as Randy and Howard make her worry for them and drive her crazy she loves the two to death
The Samurai Crystal (the necklace in the image) is as ancient as the Nomicon even allowing some secrets inside the Nomicon to be shown in its crimson glow while also offering techniques both her as the Samurai and Randy as the Ninja can learn together

I've been reading a lot of Raildex fanfic recently, which, predictably, resulted in trying to smash it into my current hyperfixation, which resulted in this snippet.
---
Waking up is a surprise.
In light of that, waking up in a hospital is considerably less so.
Beside my bed is a doctor, a balding, elderly man with a wide face that makes him look a bit frog-like. He must have noticed me wake up, because he turns to me with a gentle smile. “Ah, ohayou.”
Japanese, I identify. Meaning “good morning.” Slightly facetious, going by the high angle of the sun coming through the window.
“What happened?” I ask in the same language.
The doctor’s smile fades, but doesn’t quite turn into a frown. “I was rather hoping you could tell me,” he says. “You were found unconscious in an alley about an hour ago, but we’ve only found some minor bumps and scrapes. What’s the last thing you remember?”
“Nothing.” My answer is unthinkingly honest, and I immediately regret it – for all I know, this man is in some way responsible for my situation in the first place. But no, I realize, lying about something this basic would just get me in trouble down the line; honesty will get me answers, for now. Still, I resolve to be a bit more circumspect going forward.
In the half-second or so it takes me to reach that conclusion, the doctor blinks twice in surprise. “Just to be clear, when you say ‘nothing’…” He trails off, but the specifics of the question are inconsequential.
“I suppose I am slightly exaggerating,” I concede. “I can recall a face here, a snippet of conversation there,” the smell of burning flesh, I don’t add, “things of that nature. But it’s all disconnected and stripped of context; no way to tell if or how anything goes together or in what order.”
“That’s certainly troubling,” he says, brow furrowed in concern. “And yet I can’t help but notice that you seem less worried about this than I am.”
“Frankly, I’m more surprised to have woken up than to have lost my memories,” I admit. “Which, to me, suggests that whatever I was doing, I knew in advance that it had a high chance of leaving me without memories, if not comatose or dead.”
The doctor scowls. “A girl your age shouldn’t be saying something like that so matter-of-factly,” he mutters, quietly enough that I don’t think I’m supposed to have heard it.
Something about his words triggers a surge of irritation. It’s mild, somehow worn and familiar; how often must people comment on my age for it to prompt a reaction like this? Or perhaps I’m missing something.
Before I can ponder further, the doctor speaks up again. “Well, regardless, I’d like to schedule a CT scan to check for brain injury. In the meantime, do you at least remember your name? You didn’t have any identification when you were brought in, so we haven’t been able to find your files.”
My thoughts stall for a moment when my name doesn’t immediately spring to mind at his request. But I do find, among the scattered ashes of my memories, something that might be a name. It doesn’t inspire inexplicable nostalgia, nor do I have some mysterious attachment to it, but I decide it will have to do.
“I think it was… Carol.” And saying it aloud makes it feel right. “Yes.
“Carol Malus Dienheim.”

Genuinely wonder why people on Twitter feel like QRTing someone to Hell and back when they say they don’t care for a piece of media they enjoy will yield positive results.
But I guess in the end it’s never about changing the mind of the original tweeter in question so much as just preaching to the choir.
I’ve seen this happen twice regarding Symphogear and Ultraman in this month alone, and as someone who likes both Symphogear and Ultraman, I think we should just leave people alone when they say something is not for them.
