Sylphy appears briefly as a captive mermaid. Dryden Fassa bought her in order to return to her natural habitat. However, it is implied Sylphy and Dryden had some romantic involvement but it isn’t clear if it is was just the mermaid having a crush on her rescuer or something more intimate. Due to her beautiful character design, she’s a surprisingly popular character in fanfiction and fan art.

🍁 Where does your OC go when they need to have some time to themself? Would they ever have their own “comfort corner” filled with all the things they like? Do they have a favourite spot outside that feels like its theirs and theirs alone?

Deidre kind of has two places, depending on where in the story we are. She has an apartment in the Lavender Beds that she got before the end of 2.0, where she goes initially to avoid the Scions, but later it's also an alternative plan when she doesn't want to encounter anyone; she and Alisaie go there rather than Fortemps Manor after they find out Caelen got called like the other scions. Her other place is her room at Fortemps Manor, which she frequents more often. Even after the scions began to focus on the Ala Mhigan resistance, the household never really. Turned it back into a guest room, they just stopped thinking of it as one. And then she's adopted so it Stays her room. As for an outdoor place she has a greenhouse on the manor grounds where she's trying to breed hardier decorative plants for Ishgard's new climate. A certain someone deserves to rest in a garden.

🌺 What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?

Deidre is unfortunately skilled at pushing down and ignoring her emotions, especially 'negative' ones like fear. Being afraid isn't productive for her, being scared won't make them stop calling her the warrior of light, feeling it doesn't change anything so she doesn't take the time to. Once they are further along in their relationship and share a bed regularly, Alisaie will hold and reassure her if she wakes up, and try to get her to face her emotions instead. She does also have a comfort item. She has a stuffed Chocobo that Sid and Rielle got her while she was recovering from the final steps of faith. She's yellow and her name is Tulip.

Everyone but Arenvald follows canon meeting conditions. There are several characters who would consider her a friend that by her own standards she does not consider herself close to, and also some characters who see her as a younger sister figure that are similarly missing. Alisaie is a different tier because they are dating.

She tends to be friends with the people who fight by her side, rather than assuming she can handle everything for them herself due to her title and achievements. Those who call her her name, people who discuss things other than primals and politics with her. Most other people are more. Work associates. Than friends.

She was never really Looking for a romantic partner, but she has had several crushes and is ultimately in a relationship with Alisaie after Esteem makes her bite the bullet in Doma and get her feelings out there. Specific traits all her interests tend to have in common are dependability, an energetic nature, and no-nonsense ways of dealings with things. She likes that Alisaie is hard working and sticks to her guns, even if their respective stubbornness clashes horribly when they're of different minds about something important (stubborn hope vs. preparing for the light to turn her). Alisaie is also very expressive of her emotions, which is something Deidre needs help with.

Asdfghkjkl parentalized eldest daughter doesn't get to be baby DX. Over all she's about a 2. Haurchefant and Thancred, who have seen and helped to some degrees her recover from various illness/injury, would put her at like a 5. Lahabrea puts her at a 7 (derogatory) she's so fucking stupid.

Solstice Daze

The summer has come at long last. Having returned from a research trip to the US (more on that in the future) I am working toward conquering a pile of review books, editing a new article to be published in the fall and am happy to leak out the next release on Alkahest Press.

As those who follow our publications may have noticed things have been quite on the publishing front. After long consideration we are planning on making this next volume our first hardback release.

That release will be a new translation of Paraclesus' "Liber de nymphis, sylphis, pygmaeis et salamandris et de caeteris spiritibus", the volume, first published in 1566, that categorically introduced the concept of elementals to western esotericism. No word yet on a release date but this work is what is on the drawing board at the moment.

I have found it increasingly difficult to maintain the Skeptical Occultist while simultaneously running a publishing company and seeing to my own research. It has made things difficult to manage, especially at my age. So I have taken on an assistant in the hopes of keeping things rolling and giving myself more breathing room to rant on various topics related to the esoteric and occult.

The solstice sun shines down and my life in London is one of mostly unpacked bags and boarding passes. I am here briefly before I return to the mountains of Portugal on an expedition into some new areas of interest. Colleagues have alerted me to an unusual bit of activity that I must investigate. While reports from the field are unlikely I will give a full report on my return.

i am having many padjal thoughts.

padjal padjal padjal. most often the are born of the prominent hyur families of gridania. but were they blessed by the elemental or did they gain power because of the padjal born of those families. both? and i wonder if its like the ishgardians were there is both an environment and lineage component. the game talks about how old padjal can get and yet gridania itself is not that old. gridania was founded like 500 years ago

and i got the answer it was the later! (mostly). Jorin recieved a blessing and the the first padjal was born a few years after the agreement was reached.

conjurers are those that practice a certain school of magic about sensing and balancing aether with like wind and earth. edit: and it was water but i think that got patched out? or was it esuna i dont remember i dont play whm often.

hearers (usually conjurers) are those that can understand the elementals and interpret their will.

padjals are the hyur that are touched by the elementals and they get special powers and the forbidden secret white magic of amdapor

seedseers are conjurers and hearers and also usually padjal that are exceptionally powerful for their generation. as a council they rule gridania.

kann-e pulled a julius caesar and made herself (benevolent) dictator for life (well until the time of crisis comes to an end which is vague as all hell)

Kapmuy-A-Por. or maybe O-Kamuy-Por. I imagine she was born in the first 70 years of gridania's founding when things were still quite new, maybe she's the founder of the Por family. and she ends up living like 300+ years also sadly she's pro-oligarchy and ends up contributing to many of the injustices that persist in gridania to this day. she say the solidification of power in gridania and the noble houses. imagine seeing your clock tic out of sync with your childhood friend's. imagine whitening hair being the only physical sign of age.

i couldn't help myself i went and watched the stormblood white mage quests. and at first i was worried sylphie was roaming around in a dangerous area alone and that she was charged with a fairly important mission but then i remembered this is stormblood and potentially several years have passed since the beginning of arr. fandom wiki is saying 14 so she might be as old as like 18 by the time this quest happens and they didn't change her model for obvious reasons. the problem wasn't actually solved. by the time e-sumi show's up, gatty's powers are already at the limit of what sylphie can handle on her own, is he going to have a team of conjurers camped out at the house? well i suppose having a curriculum would help. the simplest solution would be to relocate them both to gridania and pay for the mother's living expenses. and yes i know this decision is suppose to show e-sumi's character development

  The song was originally released as her eighth single in November 2018 and used as the OP theme for the TV anime Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur. This music video shows an acoustic version of the song with a gentle and delicate rearrangement. Following her well-received first acoustic album "Lumière" in December 2021, the seven-song album "Étoile" is set to be released on April 27, 2022.
