Finding the Right Swimwear Manufacturers Near Me: A Guide to Quality and Efficiency
When it comes to launching your swimwear brand, choosing the right manufacturer is one of the most crucial decisions you'll make. The quality of the products you offer can make or break your business, and it all starts with finding the best swimwear manufacturers near you. In this blog, we will explore the importance of local manufacturers, key factors to consider when selecting a swimwear production partner, and tips for ensuring that your swimwear collection stands out in the market.
Why Choose Swimwear Manufacturers Near Me?
Choosing a local swimwear manufacturer has several advantages that can streamline the production process, improve communication, and reduce costs. Here are a few reasons why you might want to opt for manufacturers near you:
1. Easy Communication & Collaboration One of the biggest advantages of working with a local swimwear manufacturer is the ability to communicate easily and in person. Frequent visits to the manufacturing facility for meetings, updates, and inspections ensure that there are no misunderstandings about the designs, quality, and timelines. This level of collaboration is particularly beneficial in the fashion industry, where attention to detail is critical.
2. Faster Lead Times & Delivery Manufacturing swimwear locally can result in faster lead times. You won't have to deal with international shipping delays or complex customs processes, making it easier to get your products to market faster. This also allows for quicker response times to any changes in production, design, or fabric sourcing.
3. Lower Shipping Costs When you work with a swimwear manufacturer near you, you can avoid the high shipping costs associated with overseas manufacturing. Not only does this save you money, but it also helps to minimize your carbon footprint, making your business more sustainable. Local manufacturing also means more flexibility with order quantities, whether you need a small batch or larger production runs.
4. Quality Control & Inspections With local manufacturers, you can visit the production site regularly to oversee the quality control process. This gives you the opportunity to make sure that your swimwear meets the highest standards. In-person visits can ensure that every product is created exactly as you envision, from stitching to fabric quality.
Key Factors to Consider When Choosing a Swimwear Manufacturer
Now that you understand the advantages of working with a swimwear manufacturer near you, it’s essential to consider a few key factors to ensure you’re choosing the right partner for your brand.
1. Expertise in Swimwear Production Not all manufacturers specialize in swimwear, so it's important to find a company with experience in this specific field. Swimwear requires a unique set of skills, from fabric sourcing to pattern making and construction techniques. Look for manufacturers with a proven track record of producing high-quality swimwear, including bikinis, one-piece suits, and active swimwear.
2. Quality of Fabrics The fabric used in swimwear plays a vital role in the final product. Whether you’re looking for durable materials like Lycra, nylon, or eco-friendly alternatives, it’s essential that your manufacturer can provide high-quality fabrics that will withstand exposure to chlorine, saltwater, and sunlight. A reliable manufacturer will also offer a variety of fabric options based on your design requirements.
3. Customization & Design Flexibility If you want your swimwear brand to stand out, customization is key. Look for a manufacturer who can work with you on custom designs, prints, and styles. They should be flexible in accommodating your design specifications, whether you're aiming for a unique color palette, pattern, or cut.
4. Sustainability Practices Sustainability is increasingly important in the fashion industry, and swimwear is no exception. Many swimwear manufacturers now offer eco-friendly fabric options, such as recycled polyester and sustainable elastane. Additionally, some manufacturers focus on sustainable production practices, reducing waste and minimizing their environmental impact. If sustainability is important to your brand, look for manufacturers who share these values.
5. Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) When working with swimwear manufacturers near you, it’s important to inquire about the minimum order quantities (MOQs). If you're a new brand, you may want to start with small batches before committing to larger production runs. A manufacturer who offers flexible MOQs allows you to test the market with a limited number of pieces before scaling up your orders.
How to Find Swimwear Manufacturers Near Me
Finding a reputable local swimwear manufacturer can be easier than you think. Here are some ways to start your search:
1. Online Research The internet is a valuable tool for finding swimwear manufacturers in your area. You can use search terms like “swimwear manufacturers near me” or “swimwear production [your city]” to find local options. Browse through reviews, check their portfolios, and see what other brands they’ve worked with.
2. Industry Trade Shows and Events Attending fashion or textile trade shows can be an excellent way to connect with local swimwear manufacturers. These events often bring together manufacturers, designers, and suppliers, allowing you to meet potential partners in person and see their products firsthand.
3. Networking with Other Fashion Brands If you know other brands or designers who work with swimwear, reach out to them for recommendations. They may have valuable insights or connections to trusted manufacturers in your area.
4. Local Directories and Business Listings Many local business directories, both online and offline, list swimwear manufacturers and suppliers. Make sure to review their services, contact details, and customer reviews before reaching out.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right swimwear manufacturer near you is an essential step in creating a successful swimwear brand. By working with a local manufacturer, you can enjoy benefits like better communication, faster lead times, and greater control over quality. Consider the key factors outlined above, and take your time to find a partner that aligns with your brand values, design vision, and production needs. With the right manufacturer, your swimwear line can stand out in the competitive market and become a success.
Overall, finding the right Swimwear manufacturers near you is essential to the success of your swimwear brand. By researching potential manufacturers, scheduling meetings, and considering factors such as quality, production capacity, and cost, you can find a manufacturer that can bring your jeans design to life and help your brand stand out in the competitive denimwear market.

Hello, hello! I'm late as usual!
This is a sim I made based on a comment i got and she came out great! I love her, she's so cute!
She's a bookworm who likes dark romance and guys with a dark side (She's one of those), her friends think she's weird, but she doesn't really care.
She wants to be a world renowned surgeon to help people and make the world a better place.
Uploading her is a chore because she doesn't want to export properly! It's super annoying! So, she only comes as a .Sim file meaning I recommend downloading EVERYTHING I link to get her full experience, I mean everything! I have no idea where or how I got the makeup I use, so I can't link that, but I'll link everything else.
Anyhoo…
This Here Package contains: 1 Dark romance girlie.
P.S, SHE IS ONLY A .SIM FILE SO DOWNLOAD ALL THE CC LINKED!
but if they don’t, here are some links of the stuff I could find.
Hair Everyday | Formal hair (MISSING) | Formal Dress | Activewear Hair | Activewear bottoms by @plbsims3 | Activewear Top | Swimwear Hair | Sleepwear Hair | Swimwear Top & Bottoms | Outerwear Hair | Earrings Found by @wanderingsimsfinds! | Eyes | Eyelashes | Eyelash Slider | Skin | Sliders | I'm looking for the necklace and earrings! No eyebrows as usually...
Anything I missed was due to the fact that I've had some of this CC since 2018 and I cannot find it, or pure laziness 😅
I don’t remember where I got all this CC, but a ton of it should be on my CC reblog account @ohcrapitsccfinds so head on over there for some CC!
Thanks to all the CC creators whose CC I used, ya’ll are grand and I love your work!

Just curious, do you have a guide on how to convert items to another body type? I want to convert a bunch of stuff to Consort but I have no clue where to start, and also, is there anything for Consort that works with the body type chooser? AFAIK only Lady Apple has auto conversions
Hi! I don't have a guide at the ready but I can show you how I do it ↓
I don't use WSOs. I assume they do make things quicker and less labor-intensive but I've spent too much time fixing up lumpy meshes and fat morphs to have a good opinion of WSOs (though of course I know you can always use a WSO and make changes manually afterwards, but evidently not everybody bothers). I assume the body type chooser and auto conversions that you mentioned have something to do with WSOs? I have no idea about that, sorry. I do everything manually and although it takes time, it's really simple.
Open Milkshape or your 3D software of choice (I assume you're familiar already).
Import a nude mesh of the body shape you want to convert to, with morphs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Let's use a full-body Melodie9 fat AF mesh as an example.)
I have all the nude meshes' GMDCs that I need in a folder, they're basically the meshes that I use either for swimwear & underwear in the case of full-body, or the ones I use for showerproof skins in the case of separates. I can't direct you to a nude mesh when it comes to Consort's fat male as I've never worked with it but I'd wager you know of some underwear or swimwear that's been made for it, you can use that.
3. Ctrl+A, ctrl+H to hide everything.
Tumblr media
4. Import the mesh of the clothing you want to convert, without the morphs. It goes without saying that that mesh should be as perfect as can be (test it in game on a moving sim to make sure bone assignment is good all around, fix it before you start converting).
Tumblr media
(This is Rented-Space's Shawl Apron Dress.)
5. You can now start working on the normal morph. Unhide the normal morph of the mesh you're using as reference.
Tumblr media
And get going, section by section.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You'll be using the Scale and Move tools a lot. If you're gender-converting, don't forget to merge the neck vertices properly (and merge normals).
Your first time will take a while if you do it well. The higher poly the mesh you're converting is, the harder it will be and the longer it will take. Save a lot along the way and make backups.
Exit and reopen to be able to see flat-shaded, it helps see flaws especially towards the end.
Tumblr media
Look at the mesh with its textures on as well, there may be mapping tweaks to make.
6. When you're done with the normal morph, export it, put it in a mesh file, make the recolors, get in game and test it. Exit, get back in Milkshape, make the tweaks necessary, test again, until you're happy.
7. Make the morphs: duplicate your normal morph then adjust them in the same way you did with the normal morph, this time using the morphs of your reference mesh as, well, reference. Don't forget to fix the comments.
8. Test the mesh with morphs in game. Exit, back to Milkshape, fix what needs to be fixed, retest, until you're perfectly happy and you can take the best preview pictures for your downloaders 😌 (If you intend to share that is.)
And that's pretty much it. Hopefully you already know how to make a mesh file, how to make recolor files, how to properly categorize, compressorize, tooltip and BSOK files, all that good stuff that isn't strictly "converting to another body shape".
It's just the way I do things and may not be best for everyone but I hope it helps get you started at least. Good luck!

VRoid Seasonal Collection: Spring/Summer 2022
Backlog/Re-Upload:
Note: These were previously uploaded as individual posts but considering MANY of the links have changed since then, I've decided to delete them and re-upload as a batch. So if you've seen these before no you didn't.
The second set of VRoid Seasonal Collection pieces for 2022. These ones are still up on my itchio (I don't use Booth because I don't like using websites I can't actually read) and same as my 2021 Collection, has 2 pieces for Spring and 2 pieces for Summer. This was also my first attempt at making swimwear!
A considerable step up compared to the first year - VRoid updating to the stable version and having proper layering helped considerably - but there are still parts I'm not overly fond of in these, as well. For one, the bullshit I had to pull just to get a long skirt, which made the texture a pain to get to look right. The ruffles look awful thanks to the stretching. I think the swimwear and pop heart vest are my favorite pieces from this set, though.
I also made these before VRoid actually had the ability to import/export full pieces and just had to do everything manually with textures. Nowadays you can just export an actual piece.
Find the Collection on my itchio here !

The Seasonal Permit Tango: Why It Matters to Forex Traders Let's kick things off with something most traders overlook—seasonal building permits. Wait, building permits? Yep, the humble permission slip that lets someone add a backyard she-shed or a high-rise complex might just be your secret Forex weapon. Imagine them as a calendar telling you when the economic party is either about to get wild or head to bed early. And trust me, they’re more accurate than your uncle’s “Buy gold now!” advice after one too many Thanksgiving cocktails. Hidden Seasonal Patterns That Can Boost Your Trading Game Ever notice how certain times of the year feel ripe for economic growth, almost like the universe is winking at you to make that trade? This isn’t by accident. Building permits often show seasonal patterns—spring and summer are boom periods when people are investing in construction, giving you a sneak peek into economic activity. What does this mean for Forex? Seasonal building permits offer clues to upcoming GDP boosts, industrial growth, and shifts in national currency value. Imagine trying to predict a snowstorm in February. It’s predictable because, well, it happens every year, right? The same logic can be applied to building permits. When they spike in spring, it’s an indicator of economic optimism and consumer confidence. But here’s the ninja twist: savvy traders use this information to predict capital flow and inflation trends in currencies impacted by significant construction booms—like AUD, NZD, and even CAD. Just like how wearing sunscreen isn’t optional in summer, using building permit data can shield you from blunders during high-impact market periods. Myth Busting: Building Permits Are Boring and Useless Alright, let's break down this myth—building permits are anything but boring if you’re a Forex trader with a taste for data goldmines. Many believe that permits are for real estate agents and construction workers only, but here’s the kicker: permits are like whispers from the economy’s crystal ball. When permits are granted at increasing rates, it’s the economic equivalent of the construction industry saying, "Business is booming, bring on the bricks and steel!" And, as seasoned traders know, more construction means more investment, and more investment means more robust economic activity. To put it bluntly, if you think building permits are boring, that’s like thinking Google Maps is just for driving—sure, it is, but it also saves you from getting embarrassingly lost on the way to a first date. Don’t underestimate their ability to give you direction in a market that's filled with U-turns and detours. The Seasonal Cycles That Experts Are Keeping Quiet Ever felt like a rookie compared to the big Forex players? It’s not that they have better luck; they simply know where to look. Seasonal building permits reveal untapped opportunities in timing currency trades. For example, during spring—historically a boom period for construction—currencies tied to commodity exports (like the Aussie dollar) tend to see gains as building projects take off. While everyone else is watching PMI and CPI, you’re already ten steps ahead, adjusting positions before the data even hits the headlines. This insider move is like showing up to a crowded restaurant with a reservation—you get to skip the line. Want another tip? Look at building permits alongside winter months. Ever wonder why the market seems oddly quiet in December? It’s not just because traders are busy buying terrible Secret Santa gifts. It’s also because building permits drop dramatically—less building, less spending, less economic oomph. Timing trades around these cycles helps you avoid the pitfall of false rallies during “off-seasons.” It's like investing in winter swimwear—the odds of payoff are pretty slim. But Here’s Where the Real Magic Happens Seasonal trends in building permits can also tip you off to the big boys' moves—hedge funds and institutional traders. These power players monitor the future economic potential (aka building permits) to decide their next big bets. Do they know something you don’t? Yes, if you’re ignoring the clues left by construction planning. Picture this: institutional investors see a massive uptick in approved building permits in Australia during Q1. They get busy buying Aussie dollars long before official GDP numbers get released, driving the price up. Knowing this, you could “dance with the wolves,” positioning your trades to ride the wave before the mainstream traders even notice. And let’s face it—that moment of positioning yourself just before a currency move, when you see your trade go from red to green, is the trading equivalent of walking out of a shoe sale with the only pair in your size. Priceless. The Forgotten Strategy That Outsmarted the Pros Building permit data is only part of the equation. Here's a little-known strategy: combine permit data with economic indicators like PMI or retail sales for a holistic market outlook. You may know that a jump in building permits means more construction, but what if PMI simultaneously shows a decline in manufacturing? Now you have a nuanced, insider look at economic segmentation—where one sector booms and another falls. This layered strategy can provide game-changing clarity on your Forex trades. It’s like knowing a plot twist ahead of time; while others get caught off guard, you’re calmly watching, already in position. How to Take Advantage of Seasonal Building Trends with Forex Trades - Mark The Calendar: Start by marking significant months like March to May and September to November, periods when building permits historically spike. Watch currencies linked to nations with significant construction influence. - Overlay with Commodity Currencies: Check building permit data against commodity-linked currencies like AUD or CAD. Are permits spiking? This indicates material demand, boosting those currencies. - Keep an Eye on the Winter Dip: Expect slower economic performance around winter. Adjust your trade volumes or hedge positions accordingly. Think of this as an off-season tactic—lower volatility, less excitement, but potentially safer trades. Elite Tactics for the Seasoned Trader - Use Building Permits to Time Interest Rate Expectations: Central banks consider housing data when adjusting rates. Use seasonal building permits as an indicator of future central bank sentiment. Are permits spiking? There’s a chance rate hikes are coming—get in ahead of the central bank speeches. - Combine With Employment Data: Construction projects employ a ton of people. Compare permit data with employment numbers to gauge economic health. If both are growing, the economy is likely in a good spot, which should strengthen that nation’s currency. Final Thoughts: Permit Yourself to Be a Better Trader Seasonal building permits may not be a flashy headline maker, but they offer hidden gems of insight into the economic heartbeat. They’re like that behind-the-scenes crew member that makes the whole show work—unnoticed but essential. Ignoring them could leave you unprepared while the Forex pros dance away with your profits. It’s time to look at the overlooked, dig deeper, and permit yourself the luxury of insider information. After all, in the trading world, there’s nothing better than a well-timed move that leaves everyone else wondering, "How did they see that coming?" hello and welcome to: I am procrastinating part 2. A few days ago I decided to just write down things I’ve learned from having a royal simblr for almost six months, this includes sending sims over, hosting an event, things i’ve learned on collabs and some lil tips from someone who has also started from zero.
guide on how to send your sims over for events
guide on hosting an event
tips on starting out
tips on collabs (giving your sims away to others, etc.)
and my old screenshots tips
ill also add every single guide’s transcript under the cut for easy reading if anyone doesn’t want to go to each page. its long since it has everything !!
Tumblr media
I. How to send your sims over for events.
1. Dressing your sims
Whenever I send my sims over, I try and put all their outfits in the ‘Everyday’ category. For example, you’ve been invited to a wedding. The invite says morning dress with hats for the ceremony and gowns with sashes for the reception. This means that in total you’ll only have two outfits in the ‘Everyday’ category. This makes it easier for the host to switch between scenes; if there’s over twenty sims in a household  (or even less), it takes a WHILE with MC Dresser to load the outfits, with the host being sure the second outfit is the one for the second scene, it reduces possibly waiting time or errors on choosing the ‘wrong’ outfit.
2. Putting bathrobes on the rest of the outfits.
Okay, you have your sims dressed! Now for the rest of the outfit categories, these being formal, sleepwear, swimwear, hot weather, cold weather, etc. make sure you remove ALL possible CC, this essentially means stripping everything from them: hair, eyelashes, makeup, shoes, accessories, etc. They should have NO CC and should literally be in their underwear. There’s always a possibility the person you are sending your sims to might have a nude top/bottom mod/replacement OR they could even be sent said file. So to prevent possible naked sims, I recommend dressing your sims in bathrobes.
There are base game bathrobes available, so dress them in those. Here’s literally how your sim should be looking in all other outfits other than the ones following the dress code, keep in mind my hairline is in skin details!

Personally, I keep these sims as ‘base sims’; if I need to send my sims over to another event in the future, I just use the same household I had used previously, change their outfits accordingly and save them as a new household again. Like this, I no longer have to add bathrobes or remove cc from the other categories. Now the final step is just saving your household to your gallery!
3. Extracting your sims
Tray importer is your best friend to extract your sims! There’s both Windows / Mac versions.
All you do is open the program, click on the household you want to send over, click on the drop down menu next to the save button, and do Export with CC. This will make a pop-up appear of where you want to save your sims, change the file name, etc. It’ll usually save as a .zip.
Tumblr media
4. [extra but nice step to do for the host] Getting rid of sub-folders.
I personally don’t mind doing this for the sims I’m receiving but others might have differing opinions. BUT! Sometimes when the items are in too many subfolders, there might be a chance the item won’t show up ingame.
This doesn’t mean it happens always, it has only happened to me ONCE, but still, to make sure I’m not accidentally missing some files, I move all files from each person I receive into their own singular folder. For example, instead of having this inside my mods folder, with who knows how many sub-folders inside,
Tumblr media
I have this:
Tumblr media
Again, all this for the slightest chance the piece of CC in the sim is inside TOO many sub-folders and it decides not to show up.
5. Do I send merged files?
I personally think that if said merged file is under 50mb, it’s no big deal, as LONG as it doesn’t increase your overall folder size too much. If your folder is already 200mb, and a singular pair of shoes is inside the merged file, it would be best to just send the .package file of the shoes. If you as the host, receive a big merged file, I’d recommend kindly asking the invitee if they could tell you what CC their sim is wearing that is included in the merged file. Now, I’ve received my fair share of big merged files. If it bothers you a lot, like, say a merged file is 500mb, you can unmerge it yourself and remove all unnecessary CC.  Here’s a tutorial on how to unmerge .package files.
AFTER you have unmerged, I usually remove the merged .package file from the folder, bring in the Unmerged folder into the Invitee’s folder, open my game, save the household, open Tray Importer to check which CC is actually being used in the household and remove the rest.
6. What about default replacements?
I personally don’t recommend sending over default replacements. This includes default feet, hands, skins, lips, nude tops/bottoms, etc. Eyes aren’t usually that big of a deal and I’ve only had problems ONCE with someone’s default eyes replacing my own. To prevent this possibly happening, the chances are VERY low, but what you can do is send your sims over with facepaint version of your eyes. Remember, you have to put this facepaint in all outfits you have.
7. I use sliders, should I send them over?
Again, I don’t recommend sending sliders with your sims. In Tray Importer, you can uncheck the slider OR, extract your .zip file yourself and delete the slider files.
8. Sending your finished folder.
To do this, you really have a lot of options, but I recommend Wetransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive, since they have the most stable servers. If you wanted to and have a simfileshare account, you could also upload them there for convenience. After you’ve uploaded your folder, you’ll just have to send the link to download to the host!
TL;DR so overall tips:
don’t send your sims over with sliders, default replacements and merged files that are too large.
try and dress your sims in bathrobes or BG clothes.
do NOT send recolors without meshes.
get rid of unneccesary CC in all other outfit categories.
make sure your folder and mods folder have your blog’s name for the host to easily be able to identify that you already sent your sims to them.
try and keep the file as small as possible!

II. Hosting an Event
woo! you’re hosting an event! this can be a wedding, a little informal party, a birthday, tea party, a luncheon, etc.! so far, I’ve had TWO big events with multiple people: my big royal wedding and a lil toddler’s birthday party.
for both of these events, I approached them the same way BEFORE taking any photos: first of all, and the MOST important question: what’s going to happen? from this question you will plan out the different activities that your Event will have and the different settings/scenes you’ll have to do.
Depending on your event, the list of activities might be small or short. Using my own wedding as an example, I knew I was going to pose ALL guests three times: one for their arrivals, one for the wedding ceremony and one for the reception. To guide me, I made my own Sheet to keep track of ALL guests and if I had already taken their photos:
Tumblr media
The sheet is divided as follows:
The guests’ url.
The guests titles. Don’t guess. ASK! Make sure you have the correct titles.
If i had received them yet.
If I had already taken their Arrival Photo.
If they were VISIBLE in the Photos inside the Church.
if they were visible mingling inside the reception.
I personally have all my guests at once in my household with the help of MCCC, but if your computer can’t handle it you can always take the photos in sets and divide the guests in smaller groups.
1. Make sure all Guests can be seen.
Now, depending on the amount of guests you have, you might not be able to get all of them in a singular screenshot and might have to divide the guests in two groups, meaning two different screenshots. For example:
Tumblr media
It’s important to be aware if all guests are visible in every group screenshot you take. You DON’T want to forget anyone. Which is where the sheet comes in handy to double check that all your guests are currently in your screenshots. To make it a bit easier, you could also do seating arrangements.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You might wonder, well I already showed them in the ceremony, do I have to show them again in the reception? quick answer: YES.
People spent their time dressing and sending their sims for you. They don’t have to be full on the FRONT of the screenshot. They can be FULLY seen in the back. The important thing is that they’re seen. For example, I grouped two groups in one singular photo; one is closer to the camera, but this doesn’t mean the other group is obstructed. It’s all angles.
Tumblr media
2. Plan out your posts in advance.
You don’t want the date to come around and be unsure what to post first and at what time. You also want to make sure that in the posts where ALL your guests appear you don’t miss @‘ing someone. For my wedding, I did an itinerary for myself:
Tumblr media
You could also just go with the ~flow and post on the established date at whatever hours you feel like. It’s all personal preference!
3. Overall tips
More doesn’t always mean better. Your event doesn’t need 40 guests to be considered ‘amazing’ or ‘successful’. Instead, what you’re doing is making it harder for you for no reason. Again, the more guests does not equal your event will instantly be ‘big’ and ‘popular’ and ‘amazingly gorgeous’. What makes an event are the decorations, the venue, the set-ups, the clothes, the screenshots (!!!) etc. Not the amount of sims.
One of your guests is missing a dress, hair or another piece of cc? Contact the invitee and let them know. If they sent you a hair/pair of shoes that are part of a pack you don’t own, then send them possible options out of all the CC you have for them to choose. DON’T CHOOSE FOR THEM. LET THEM KNOW BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.
Goes hand in hand with my last point, don’t change anything from your guests’ without the invitee’s permission. For example, one of your guests is wearing the same dress as your Princess! What you would do in this situation is either change your Princess’ dress OR contact the invitee and kindly ask if they could choose another dress for their sim. Don’t choose for them. DON’T.
If your event deadline is coming up, kindly personally send a reminder to them that haven’t sent you their sims.
If you want one of your sims to interact with someone else’s sims, ask for permission. Don’t just ’guess’ that the invitee will be okay with say, your princess dancing with their Crown Prince. ASK before anything; this includes possible interactions and dialogue.
If you want to include ANY guest in a possible BTS’ after your event is over, ask for permission. Ask for permission for ANYTHING that has to do with sims that aren’t your own.
read simoviacourt’s collab etiquette guide AGAIN.
you can use someone else’s already done event as a guide, such as what order of activities they did.
Tumblr media
III. Starting Out.
1. No big events when you’re starting out.
I’ve seen this happen before and as much as you want to show off your beautiful wedding or coronation, do not do one when your blog is new. I’ve done a wedding and my friends have done coronations: they take so much effort from your part and when you’re just starting out, chances are maybe less than three people will see it.
While it’s very very important you do your story for yourself and things you like, we are all in simblr and are looking for others’ to see our work. I’d say, personally, wait a few months until you have a very base set of followers before doing one.
2. Plan a few posts and if possible an arc in advance before starting to post.
This will help you know where you plan for your story to go and have an already set order of posts that have to happen. Even better if you have an arc ready, since like this, you’ll be able to fully plan out all the necessary posts and see if you’re missing anything.
When I started, I had around maybe twenty posts ready for me to be able to post everyday. This including introductory posts of all my characters, establishing their personalities and their backstories.
3. Make sure you know your characters before starting out.
I think the title is self-explanatory, but it’s important to know how your characters acts in public/private, their personality traits, their dislikes and likes, if they have any insecurities, if they have any habits, etc.
4. Don’t expect interactions.
gracisims (hi graci) answered a similar tips questions and she encapsulates this point completely. I personally didn’t get a singular ask until my current generation 2 characters (Amelia, Harry and Oliver) were almost teens. I started in late September and this didn’t happen until late November. Even then, the asks were very scarce. The thing is, I didn’t and don’t mind at all. I enjoy working and doing my story to the fullest, so not getting asks isn’t the end of the world. It’s nice when it happens, so be appreciative.
I had to go through organic growth, meaning I was full on relying on posting everyday and interacting with others’ to start growing. I read a lot of stories, but not all, and that’s absolutely fine! Support your favorite creators and in the way, you’ll also get to know others’ stories.
Please, please don’t go around ’pretending’ to read others’ stories, overtly and exaggeratedly complimenting others without being actually genuine just to ‘get your name out there’ and liking without reading others’ stories just to get noticed. It’s incredibly rude for the writer.
Another point, don’t try and force interaction. Do not send yourself anons pretending to be someone else just because you want to motivate others to send you questions too. Yes, sometimes others see questions and are like ‘well, i wanna send in a question too!’ but pretending you’re a reader when you’re the writer sending yourself questions is sad. This includes sending yourself positive comments, story comments or questions and even negative comments.
I’ve been in so many different fandoms and people sending themselves anon hate is not something I haven’t seen. This usually roots from a low self-esteem problem, this being about their story or other reasons, and to look for validation and comfort from others, some people really don’t see another choice but to 'pretend’ to be someone else and send themselves anon hate with their biggest insecurities 'exposed’.
Please don’t do this, instead you can talk it out with someone in the community, a friend or even a group of friends so you can analyze the situation and see how you can fix the different things troubling you. Don’t like how your story is going? Ask a friend to help you brainstorm new ideas.
Sorry this point is so long, but also if you aren’t interacting with others’ and their stories at all then don’t expect many people to interact with yours and then complain about it. It’s very simple: communities are give and take, and not just 'Hey, I just posted. Look! Thanks!’.
5. Try not to compare yourself and your story to others.
You have to come to terms that even if you grow as much as you want, there can still be a chance of you comparing yourself to others. This can be because of screenshots, story, dialogue, arcs, etc. It’s completely normal. What you have to remember is that not everyone’s stories are the same and we all do things differently.
You can also take this as a positive constructive aspect. For example, If you don’t like how your screenshots are looking, then look into how to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Don’t like your dialogue? Do your research on how to improve.
6. Your story takes priority, collabs second.
Collabs are great but if it comes to a point where 80% of your posts come from a collab, then we’re in a bit of a problem. Hosting events is hard (see my hosting guide here!) and time-consuming. Personally, don’t host an event every week, every two weeks, every three weeks, etc. Do them once in a while. The theme doesn’t matter, just don’t do them so often.
Tumblr media
IV. Giving sims away.
1.1 Giving your sims away.
This is a big deal. You are giving away one of your sims and they’ll no longer be fully yours. It’s important to understand that. Something to keep in mind is who are they marrying: an heir or a spare? Direct family? Extended family? There’s a set of questions you have to ask yourself before fully agreeing to giving someone away:
1. Who are they marrying? 2. If it’s important to you, what’s their place in the line of succession? 3. What is their personality like? 4. How does it work out with your story?
Please remember to be genuine when giving your sims away. Are you doing it because you want to genuinely collab or because it ’gives you more exposure’ if you give it to an already established blog?
In some cases, you get to keep your sim and receive their partner to include in your save and be included actively in your story. In others, you are giving your sim to others, therefore they would no longer live with the rest of your main family and be seen less often.
1.2 Receiving sims.
When receiving sims, remember you can’t change anything about said sim. This includes skin details, face shape, lip shape, jaw, etc.!
Some tips I’ve learned overall:
When making future children, ask for the other person’s input. Don’t just pick and decide the children they’re gonna have on your own. Same thing goes for choosing the children’s names. This is, after all, a collab between two people. The usual thing to do is, you send your sim, they send you theirs, and both of you make possible children options. Not just you or them. Cases vary, maybe the person you’re collabing with gives you full freedom.
Double-check with the person you’re doing a collab with all posts involving their character.
Ask questions about the character that are relevant to you and your character. What are they like? What would they do in [x] scenario? What is their personality? What do they hate? Like? Dislike? What’s their relationship with their parents? And many other questions.
My best advice is to always double-check with the other person before doing anything how they think their character would behave, talk or if they’d even do a certain action. This includes dialogue (how they speak, level of formality/informality, their personality also has an impact here, etc.) and interactions in ALL behind-the-scenes posts, official posts, etc. For example, let’s say my Princess Emilia is dating a Prince called Cristian. I want Cristian to be angry at Emilia for missing his soccer game. He snaps at her and punches the wall. If i want to do this, before even doing ANYTHING, I have to ask the person I’m collabing with if their character would act this way, why and how would they try to solve this problem. I can’t just DO the scene and post it. Two. People. Are. Collabing. Always check if what you’re doing is in-character for their character.
Be genuine and actually be actively reading the other person’s story to make sure you also get to know the character and their surroundings. I’m gonna say it again: don’t do it for exposure and to get your name out there. Please !!!!!!!!!!!! It’s very rude !!!!!!!!!! And obvious !!!!!!!!!
Make sure you are fully ready to handle someone else’s sim and give them a nice home! If someone’s sending you their sim and you do the bare minimum like, “[Person] and [Person] are dating!” and then they just disappear and are never shown again. Well ?!?!?!?!?! Make sure you are doing this for the right reasons.
When planning arcs, ask for the other person’s opinion. Yes, third time I’m emphasizing this. Double-check if everything is alright every single time. Don’t guess or think the other person is going to be alright with it. Ask !!! You two can even brainstorm together for possible arcs involving your two characters. This isn’t an uni group project where you can free ride from someone else.
Don’t beg or give indirects about wanting a collab with a specific person. It comes off weird and a bit pushy.
Don’t purposefully look into only collabing with big established blogs. There’s so many people out there looking to collab in many different aspects, being something very set like a marriage or a passing thing, like a fling. first love or even a possible marriage and then divorce. Don’t pretend you don’t see those just because you’re looking into collabing with a specific person.
And last but not least, make sure you trust and know the person. I personally only give my sims away to my friends and people I’ve interacted a bunch for months. If someone offers you a sim but they’ve never before done a collab like they’re asking, for example marriage, and you’re already feeling unsure about it, I personally would have to deny the request. I would wait to see how they approach a collab first, if our storytelling ways match and If i genuinely like their story.

Hello! If sim requests are still open, I've got one! :) I've got a sim that is going to get married between 1928 and 1932 and I'd love a husband for her (although he doesn't have to be totally period-appropriate!) I'd prefer for him to be Afro-Mexican, cheerful, an all-around stand-up guy, but his looks are up to you. Use as much CC as you want!
Okay, so I did take a few liberties with what’s period-appropriate bu-ut... this is Calvin:
Tumblr media
As I generally (subconsciously) interpret “[their] looks are up to you” as “make a sim you, personally, think is hot,” I think your sim’s a lucky lady.
Calvin has the Successful Lineage aspiration and the Cheerful, Neat, and Paranoid traits (nobody’s perfect). Oddly, though, when I exported his tray files instead of being Paranoid he’s a Cat Lover? I even went back into the game to make sure I’d not made a mistake, and... yeah, Paranoid in CAS, Cat Lover in Tray Importer. So. I don’t know what you’re going to get but since you can certainly re-trait him to your liking I guess it doesn’t matter :p
Anyway, outfit pics & DL link under the cut................
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Calvin has two everyday outfits. His swimwear isn’t a one-piece nor does it contain the more modest and oft-detachable tank popular during the 1930s, because I overuse the one-piece + I hated every tank top look I put together. So.
DL HERE
Don’t claim as your own. Tag me if you use him.

Wren Naranjo - lookbook & sim download
Hello! Today I come with a lookbook and hopefully sim download (well, I have never ever in my life downloaded a sim, all the more I don’t know how to upload one - I hope what I put here works).
This sim’s name is Wren Naranjo and she was created by my Instagram followers! As you already probably read, her traits are book worm, foodie and green fiend and her aspiration is eco innovator. I chose these two Eco Lifestyle things so she can be your perfect starter sim to play with in this new pack (side note: I know it’s been almost three months - wow, three months - since this pack came out but I still didn’t even get to play it! And some of you might not even have it yet, so maybe you will actually use her to make a sim world better place!). Also ‘bout her name - I just randomized it. I think Wren suits her and - because you chose her to be Hispanic - I gave her first random Hispanic surname.
Enough with this talk that nobody will probably even read - let’s get to some cc shopping!
info:
I own no clothes linked here - that is why I put here those links! Let’s show some love to these amazing creators  ♡
please do not claim this sim as yours - if you’re using her while documenting your gameplay online, please tag me @omgsimsbym

because of my ReShade preset on the pictures she has a little lighter skin than in game with no filters. When I created her I wanted her to have a skin tone that works with my ReShade, but don’t worry, my preset doesn’t change the colors MUCH.
download Wren here  ⟶  I hope everything is alright, again, it’s my first time exporting a sim and I have actually never even downloaded one! Please let me know if there are any problems.
