For clarification, Taylor knew Terry as Terri/Scary's new stepdad before knowing him as his drama teacher so calls him Mr Marlowe, rather than Mr Stampler. Terry Jr just doesn't bother correcting him because he's not wrong.

Nicky did not tell anyone he was back, he just showed up one day on Cassandra's doorstep with an apology bouquet and a giant card that says "Sorry I disappeared for 13 years and showed up randomly without chocolate". Cassandra smacked him for leaving and then promptly ordered from his favourite takeout for dinner

Taylor was at school and not informed yet, leading to the following exchange

Taylor: Hi mom, I'm home

Cassandra: Welcome back, sweetie, how was school

Taylor: Just another step in my hero's journey! Also who's this guy

Cassandra: oh that's your dad

*Taylor.exe has stopped working*

The other kiddads definitely find out by abrupt group chat messages. Either Terry Jr suddenly adds Nicky to the kiddads + spouses group chat and starts messaging about how their kids, as wonderful as they are, will not stop chanting the Goth Santa Claus musical theme and he wants to yeet them out of a window OR one of the s1 daddies/mommies messages the Close-Foster-Freeman-Swift-Stampler-Marlowe-Li-Wilson-Oak-Swallows-Garcia family group chat about arranging a welcome back BBQ for Nicky, Jodie, Glenn, and Morgan. Potentially both happen in the same day

Veronica: Hi honey, how was the parents' evening

Terry: it was pretty good, oh thanks dear. My ex-boyfriend unexpectedly showed up

Veronica, not looking up from her food at all as Terry sits next to her: isn't he missing, pressumed dead but actually on the run from a government agency

Terry: I mean not the actual government but yeah. He was very invested in his son's progress at school

Terry: ... It was really cute. He was wearing gold eyeliner again too

Veronica: well, if you too end up talking talking again, make sure to get him to put a good word in for me with his ex-wife

Terry: you know you can just like, talk to her, right? Your kids go to the same school, hell even the same club. She's basically my little sister. It's not weird for you to talk to her

Veronica: And yet

(There's also an alternate version of this floating around my head where, instead of re-meeting at a parents evening, Nicky is helping out at the soccer club with Taylor, but it gets cancelled due to weather. Drama club runs on the same day so Scary has to go there to wait for Terry Jr to take her home. Taylor tags along because his sidekick is there and also Mr Marlowe is generally a cool guy, and so his awesome dad needs to meet him. Cue the most flustered and trying to be professional greeting of all time, before Terry has to send them to sit in his office for an hour. Hermie looks on, oblivious and unimpressed)

Consider, if you will, AU (either with canon post-s1 pre-s2 events but D.A.D.D.I.E.S. solves things before season 2 would start, or no Doodler/betrayal but Nicky still has to leave because FBI or other reasons) in which Terry Jr is the full time drama teacher for Teen High. Nicky returns from wherever he's been and is like "Well I want to be an active part of my kid's life and try and make up for lost time. I should go to his parents' evening, find out how he's doing in school, and meet his teachers. Especially this Mr Marlowe guy, Taylor seems to think he's awesome." And walking right into that classroom/hall to find his ex-boyfriend best friend sitting there in a dorky sweater and tie combo

Cue Terry, without missing a beat, greeting them as if nothing is wrong

Internal: when the FUCK did he come back and oh my god this is so awkward fuck I have to be professional how do I tell this guy that his kid is a loveable little shit after everything that's happened oh god oh fuck

Externally: "Hello Taylor and Mr Close-Foster-Freeman. I'm Taylor's drama teacher" *shakes hand* "Would you like to take a seat?"

Sort of a non-magic AU where the two meet as young adults and Veronica stays with her band! They meet directly after a few of Veronica's local performances and get a long really well. Veronica has inspired Cassandra to get into voice acting and/or singing. They start dating and also Nicky and TJ are dating in the background. The four become friends, do double dates, and eventually form a polycule in my mind!
