Every time I have to settle for Wendy's over the restaurant I was planning to go to, I'm shunted into a fucking circus and my chances of escaping with a semblance of edible food is a toss up.
#and like im not gonna give them a bad review and get someone fired#so you all get to hear me gripe here#they were acting like they were slammed but i only saw like 4 orders come in the entire time i was there#they were out of bbq sauce#i just ordered a biggie bag with a plain burger#they made my burger in 5 minutes#i stood there 20 more minutes watching it get stone cold#then i think someone competent started her shift on the hour#because she noticed the time on my receipt#threw away my old burger and had fresh food out in a couple minutes#french fries do not taste good with sweet and sour sauce.#also im on a work trip so i need to keep my receipts#i made it clear at the beginning that i needed my receipt#and they were like 'we need it to fill the order can you wait' and im like ok as long as I get it#the first guy filled my order and immediately threw away my receipt#i had to ask him to fish it out of the trash because I NEED IT#and then i had to ask him twice for the drink that comes with the meal

#Kraft#KraftSweetNSourSauce #Sweet&SourSauceReview
I tried the Kraft Sweet 'N Sour Sauce and it was pretty good.
This sauce had a more sour taste and was lightly sweet to me.
The sauce's texture was liquidly than thick like other Americanized chinese restaurants sweet & sour sauce.
This tasted like a lightly sweet sauce you get at a resturant.
This was lightly sweet and sour but the sour part was first in the flavor department.
I would eat this again but with a egg roll or on a burger maybe to flavor a bland dinner.
Got at Kroger.

Galaxy's Edge Foodstuffs & Drinkstuffs Reviews!
So last month, I was able to finally visit Black Spire Outpost, aka Batuu, aka Galaxy's Edge, aka Star Wars Land @ Disneyland!
This is a roundup of photos + reviews of all the themed foods & beverages that mum and I enjoyed during our trip.
Note that I visited Batuu West, in Disneyland California. Florida may have slightly different menus, and I know that menus change seasonally too! My visit was in January, 2023.
The rest of the photos + reviews under the cut!
Oga's Cantina
In the early morning on the very first day, we stopped by Oga's! We got some non-alcoholic drinks + some small eats to start the day off.
Non-Alcoholic drinks:
Memory's foggy, but I *think* the drinks are:
Blurrgfire: Minute Maid® Lemonade, Pomegranate Juice, and Habanero-Lime
Review: Mildly zingy? but otherwise a pleasant juice drink.
Black Spire Brew: Cold Brew Joffrey's Coffee®, Honey, Falernum, Passion Fruit, and Citrus
Review: Probably the most questionable drink we had, but glad we tried it! The coffee + citrus gave it a sorta...sour? taste? and I'm not sure how I felt about that in my coffee! But it was certainly unique.
Blue Bantha: Blue Milk served chilled with Bantha-inspired Brown Butter Chocolate Chip and Coconut Cookie
Review: Realizing now we didn't get the cookie, sad ;_; It was ok, but idk it felt like it tasted a lot better from the Milk Stand! It was also kinda room temperature, though we *were* in the very first early morning round of people. Overall didn't stand out too much, but wasn't bad either!
Jabba Juice: Simply Orange® with Pineapple, Kiwi, Cantaloupe, and Blueberry Flavor-filled Boba
Review: A slightly mixed-juice but mostly orange juice with some blue popping boba! Was good in a normal, could probably make it at home sorta way.
Food stuffs:
Five-blossom Bread: Warm Pretzel Knot with Hawaiian Black Sea Salt, served with Calabrian Cheese Sauce
Review: It was super warm 'n toasty, surprisingly filling! It was a pretty normal pretzel and the sauce was a pretty normal slightly spicy cheese sauce, but it was still delicious!
Spiced Wroshyr Pods: Seasoned Edamame, Sliced Cucumbers, spicy Citrus-Gochujang Dip
Review: Ngl, these were just straight up plain edamame ^ ^;;; BUT the sauce was really good, preferred it to the pretzel sauce even!
I had another reservation at Oga's on a different night, and this time we tried some alcohol. Now, tbh I am not a huge fan of alcohol; I can drink it, but I just don't really like the flavor, and have never gotten drunk (nor do I really want to), and all it makes me feel is the vague urge to pee. But, I felt obligated to try something alcoholic at the cantina, so here's what I *think* we got!
Jedi Mind Trick (alcoholic): Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum, Bols Blue Curaçao, White Grape Juice, Lime Juice, and Grapefruit Bitters
Review: It was defs sweet? Fruity? But alas, Alcohol taste was strong for me ;_;
Hyperdrive (Punch It!) (Non-alcoholic): Powerade® Mountain Berry Blast, White Cranberry Juice, Black Cherry Purée, and Sprite®
Review: Got one non-alcoholic drink, and ngl it was definitely my fav drink out of the 3 ^ ^; Unfortunately don't remember much of it, other than that I was using it to cleanse the alcohol flavor...
Fuzzy Tauntaun: Cîroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Simply Orange® topped with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, "Buzz Button Tingling" Foam
Review: This was the most recommended drink by people we spoke to + blogs I read, so I figured hey let's try it. Other people have described the foam as "tingly," but tbh...neither mum nor I really felt it? It was very foam for sure, messy, hard to get at the drink without getting foam all over your face. Taste was pretty mild (+ alcohol, LMAO).
In conclusion: Kazu, u know u don't like alcohol, plus it's expensive. Let's just stick to non-alcohol next time and save our credits, yeah? ^ ^;
Docking Bay 7
I LOVED Docking Bay 7! It was surprisingly spacious, and perhaps because we went when it wasn't too busy, but there was never any trouble getting seating. With mobile pickup food was ready almost instantaneous, and the whole interior had such an awesome aesthetic with tons of cool design details!
Trandoshan-style Pasta with Braised Bantha: Chile-braised Beef, Buttered Garlic Cavatelli, Seasonal Vegetables, Zesty Avocado Sauce, Balsamic Glaze
Review: This is the green-lookin' dish! I LOVED this one, so much I went and got it again on a different day. It's pasta, which I'm naturally biased towards, but also a lotta meat and veggies too, and pleasantly spiced. It felt like a Good Food, while also being unique and interesting enough it felt sorta Star Wars, I really enjoyed it!
Endorian Fried Chicken Tip-Yip: Crispy Chicken, Roasted Vegetable Potato Mash with Green Gravy
Review: Also good! But tasted a lot more "normal." It's a nice piece o' chickin floating in a ton of mashed potato gravy. Warm and filling, but didn't really feel as themed.
Drinks!
Moof Juice: Simply Fruit Punch®, Simply Orange® with Pineapple, Chipotle-Pineapple
Review: Another pleasant fruit juice! Gosh there are so many fruit juice mixes here! Not complaining bc I love them. Don't really remember too much about this other than "sweet."
Phattro: Gold Peak® Unsweetened Tea, Minute Maid® Lemonade, Desert Pear
Review: Another mixed juice drink, mum and I could only tell it apart from Moof Juice bc this one was mildly less sweet, more tea. Both were good!
Cold Brew Black Caf: Cold Brew Coffee topped with Sweet Cream Cheese and Chocolate Puffs
Review: I actually really enjoyed this one!! Much more than the questionable coffee at Oga's. It's got literal cereal floating on top! One thing that we found was that it wasn't as sweet or well mixed right after picking it up (no duh), but if you wait for the cream cheese and cocoa puffs dust to trickle down (or just mix it), it's a lot sweeter and so much yummier!
Also from the Docking Bay:
Vintian Mineral Mousse: Banana Brûlée-centered Dark Chocolate Mousse, Strawberry Mousse, Vanilla Chantilly, Chocolate Crumble, Cherry Garnish
Review: THIS THING. Y'all, if I had to pick just one food item to recommend from all of Galaxy's Edge, it would be this. Wasn't really sure what it was at first, and almost didn't order because I'm not a huge fan of banana flavor, but I'm SO glad that we did. Each of the blobs is a different flavored mousse, the banana being the largest, and i *think* the blue was Vanilla, pink strawberry, though those may be flipped. They each had a sorta shell like covering with soft mouse inside. They all tasted incredibly fancy and delicate, like very expensive patisserie quality, and each blob was so distinctive so you never got bored. I even liked the banana one, though I preferred the other two. The best way to eat is to take a spoonfull, and then scoop through the crumble to pick up as much of it as possible. The added crunch makes it even better!
Overall, this not only tasted phenomenal, but it had gorgeous and distinctively "Star Wars" visual presentation, and overall was so unique!
Moving on,
Milk Stand + Ronto Roasters
While the Milk Stand and Ronto Roasters are completely different shops and aren't even close, I picked up drinks from the Milk Stand for breakfast on our second day, so reviewing them together!
Blue Milk: Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with alluring fruity characteristics
Review: The Iconic Drink. I hear that people have mixed opinions about this, but I actually really liked it—and it also tasted SUPER familiar. If any of you have had ramune before, the Japanese soda drink in a funky glass bottle that you can find at most Asian markets, it tasted SUPER similar. Perhaps part of me is biased bc my Japanese ass associates blue = ramune, but really, if someone made a ramune slush and maybe added a wee bit more citrus, this would be it. I also happen to love ramune, and slushes, so of course this was a win! If you want to taste ramune to see what Blue Milk tastes like (at least in my own humble opinion, backed by mum), make sure to pick up the "original" flavor! Overall this was super chilled and refreshing, I loved it!
Green Milk: Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with zippy citrus and tropical characteristics
Review: I read some reviews that this was nasty, but I didn't think so, it was also pleasant. There was a bit of a strange, possibly slightly medicinal aftertaste, and it was also "milkier" than the blue so it felt less refreshing. Of the two, I definitely prefer blue, but enjoyed my cup of the green too!
Ronto Morning Wrap: Scrambled Eggs, Grilled Pork Sausage, Shredded Cheddar, Peppercorn Sauce, wrapped in Pita
Review: A very yummy wrap from Ronto's, only available in the morning! I felt like of the 3 wraps, this one was the richest, with a lotta cheese, egg, sausage. It was filling and super good! I wouldn't say that the food item itself felt particularly unique, but Ronto's has a super cool setup, so just being able to eat in the vicinity puts you into the universe.
Evening on a different day, we tried the other wraps!
Ronto Wrap: Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, tangy Slaw, wrapped in Pita
Review: The classic. I was expecting to like this one the most, and while it didn't disappoint, the others were actually so good they all sorta evened out? For being the meat option, it had a lotta veggies and didn't feel unhealthy, at least compared to my usual diet LMAO. I liked this a lot, and like the morning wrap, it was very tasty in a normal food sorta way!
Ronto-less Garden Wrap: Plant-based Sausage, spicy Kimchi Slaw, sweet Pickled Cucumber, Plant-based Gochujang Spread, wrapped in Pita
Review: Usually not a huge fan of fake meat, but this vegetarian option was actually really good! Of the 3, I think I might have even liked the flavoring best? It had a bit of zing to it, possibly due to the kimchi. Either way, I'm glad I was able to split these with mum!
Hard to say which of the wraps I liked most, I think I liked all of them around the same! None of them stuck out as Exceptional, but they were all good!
Drinks from Ronto:
Tatooine Sunset: Gold Peak® Unsweetened Tea, Minute Maid® Lemonade with Melon and Blueberry
Review: Yet another pleasant fruity drink! Don't remember much about it, other than that I liked it, and it once leaned mildly less sweet than the other one ^ ^;
Meiloorun Juice: Pineapple Juice, Minute Maid® Lemonade, with Blueberry, Cranberry Juice, Lemon Juice, and Desert Pear
Review: THIS ONE. If I had to choose ONE fruit juice out of the tons I had, this one is my favorite. I want to say that "Meiloorun" in the name isn't biasing me (it may be), but no really, this one was genuinely so good. It felt denser? than the others, really citrusy but the flavors were really well mixed so it tasted like an all-new fruit, exactly what I'd expect a Meiloorun to be like! I chugged two of these lmao.
Got this on the final day, also from Ronto:
Destran Ice Cap: Sprite®, Orange-Tangerine Syrup, topped with Sweet Cream Cheese
Review: Wasn't sure about the whole "cream cheese in soda," but I'm glad I tried this because I actually really liked it! The cream cheese added a pleasant, well, creaminess to the orange soda of the rest of it, giving it a sort of ice cream float-like feel without the ice cream. Would defs get again!
Lastly,
Kat Saka's Kettle
Picked this up on the last day!
Outpost Mix: colorful blend of seasonal flavors (blend of Caramel and Chocolate-glazed Popcorn)
Review: Honestly just a pleasant popcorn mix! It was good, flavor wasn't too strong, pretty mild. Was a nice easily consumable crunchy snack. It says caramel + chocolate, but tbh I mostly just tasted "mildly sweet." I was hoping for the brightly colored purple/red mix that at least looks a bit unique, but perhaps that's for a different season? Either way, yeah, I enjoyed this but didn't feel it was particularly special ^ ^;
~~
Aaaaand that's my review! I didn't quite eat *everything* at Galaxy's Edge, but I tried a darn good majority.
Overall, the vast majority of food/drink was super darn good and well worth the money! Some was more unique than others, but the quality was consistently high throughout. I did not eat outside of Galaxy's Edge my entire trip and felt very satisfied with that!
My standout favorites were: the pasta & mousse dessert from Docking Bay 7, blue milk from the Milk Stand, and Meiloorun juice from Ronto's!
I also got all 3 of the thermal detonator-shaped water bottles, but well, the flavor inside was just your regular Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite. Still cool souvenirs!
But yes, in general, just so many fruit juices haha. Luckily I do love fruit juices, and also I'm glad that all of the bathrooms in Batuu were both clean, spacious, *never* had lines, and were also super cool-looking. Because given the amount of sugar water I was chugging, yeah. I visited them a lot!
While there's a good variety of food on Batuu and I think they did a great job with the menu, there were a few things that I hope they expand on in the future.
First, while there were some options for folks with dietary restrictions, they were extremely limited. Unsurprising, as most of the food shops already have an extremely limited menu with single digit menu items total. But it would still be nice to see these menus be expanded in the future, or possibly adding additional shops so that something, somewhere might work.
Next, I felt myself wishing for more take-home souvenir-type food. Liked boxed cookies, chocolates, y'know? Sure, you could technically take home the popcorn, but it's just in a brown bag. I'm genuinely shocked they didn't have Grogu's blue macaron cookies, I'm sure those would sell insanely well. Mouse-man, u listening?
Again, I know a lot of food menu items are seasonal/limited, so I hope I can visit again when things have switched around!
If you've been to Batuu, what were your favorite things to taste there?? Any hot items I missed?
Anyway, I hope you found this review to be interesting! Thanks for reading!!

“So, what did you do this weekend?”
That question took you off guard.
A groggy mind slowly turning its gears again muffles the question. Sleep deprived, no thoughts. Head empty.
You hadn’t even thought about the concept of explaining to your coworkers what could’ve possibly taken up a seemingly random weekend. Much less about how you’d be utterly useless for the day. And even less about why you would even bother to show up.
Forty-eight hours of chaotic planning, development, ideas, failures, hijinks, etc. Starting with an evening of high-energy grindsets strong enough to convince the most mythical of engineers to leave their castles and bless us with the riches of their fast prototyping. Their high-end mechanical keyboards controlling the push and pull of our hopes and dreams with a simple pull review.
Of course, we would treat them with a fine glass of designer tears farmed from the realisation that they might actually have to touch a Unity UI, served together with a fine plate of lovely looking high poly dishes (which would’ve been perfect were it not for the artist that forgot about the exporting guidelines).
As a side dish, we’ll air-fry the abandoned concepts on the floor where the theme was announced. Its withered flowers tasting of sour regret mixed with sweet daydreams, freshly plucked from the train ride to here. Goes well with a glass of anticipation (locally sourced, definitely sweat).
Of course, to top it off, we would have some of the sauciest sauce. Richly flavoured with the media literacy of a well-read shut-in and stocked with the fruits of the labour of a well-disciplined hard worker. And spiced with the zesty sparks of a debatably well-rested loose cannon of a nerd.
None of it will be finished. Perhaps not even halfway. But an over-scoped project is a dinner meant to be shared. And who’s better to share it with than the people crazy enough to cook it with you?
When the sleep deprivation hits and the lingering smell of gamers slowly wears off, you might think about other weekends. Ones where you’d have stayed home, binge-watching your blorbos. Ones where the word code wouldn’t even dare show up on your phone.
I hope that, when you consider the seemingly meaningless suffering you’ve gone through, you remember the just-as-stinky peer sitting next to you, using 4 hours of Eurobeat to crunch through nights of bug hunting, ngon culling, and entry-level scripting. So, when people ask, you look at your well-filled stomach of experience and answer them truthfully, with all your heart:
“I had fun.”

Kanye West - Yeezus
I'm not here to review Kanye West's recent antics. If you want my opinions on him as a person then watch these videos by F.D Signifier they cover the situation extremely well.
https://youtu.be/wvgehVhF9D4
https://youtu.be/e7e5BFJa-Ug
Here we have the last good Kanye West album. It's not as good or as revolutionary as any of his previous, but it still shows why Ye was one of the absolute best in the business. The beats are very intense and the 8nduatrial.influence is obvious. Sample choices are fewer and farther between than the usual Ye record, but they are placed with precision. The sample of Nina Simone's version of Strange Fruit on Blood On The Leaves is chilling. Lyrically however it's clear the Ye is starting to fall off. For every prescient lyric about oppression there will be some bootstrappy bullshit accusing black people of having bad fashion sense (we get it no one wanted to buy your shoes and you're mad). Or worse lyrics that are just stupid, "I keep it 300 like the Romans" and "eatin' asian pussy all I need was sweet and sour sauce" are terribly embarrassing lines and you'll find something like them on about two thirds of the album. Still, if you go in with a solid understanding of where Ye was at this point in his career it's pretty easy to overlook the weaknesses and enjoy the stark intensity of Yeezus.
Randy Newman - Sail Away
Before he was known for Pixar films Randy Newman was known for biting left wing political satire. I know Tumblr is not known for appreciating or even remotely understanding satire, but imma give you all the benefit of the doubt. The album starts right off with the title track, which is sung as a sales pitch for the trans Atlantic slave trade, promising that "you'll sing about Jesus and drink wine all day" and ominously that "you're all gonna be an American". So that's how satire works, he says one thing but you are supposed to peek behind the words and see what kind of person he is describing that would frame the slave trade that way. Get it? Between songs praising the Cuyahoga river for repeatedly catching fire and claiming that, since everyone hates America anyway, there's no harm in nuking the rest of the world Newman does find time for sincerity. Old Man is a dead sincere ode to the passing of his father and Last Night I Had A Dream seems to be unirinically about the fear of being known by others. Newman's lyricism goes between being stark and funny and it highlights the fine line between comedy and tragedy.
Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime
One of the crown achievement in punk rock. This album is long and ambling with 40+ tracks that are usually just under two minutes. The album is actively hostile to the idea of taking this shit seriously. Nothing was left on the cutting room floor, every sketch of a song is recorded and included no matter how unfinished it seems and each side of the album starts with one of the band members revving their car engines. Some of it is distinctly punk like Political Song For Michael Jackson To Sing, but then it's followed by a funk track that devolves into spoken word bits. The song Corona is just country. The album achieves coherence by trying to run as far away from it as possible. Of particular note is Mike Watt's bass playing which is often front and center and provides a very bubbly atmosphere to the album. Plus he is just a very good bassist.
The Beatles - Help!
The fab fucks are back! This time with an album that's actually kinda good. Help! is kind of a transitional record having mostly abandoned the rock n roll cover song laden early era, but not having fully embraced the somewhat more sophisticated writing style of the middle records. It's still very much crisp, simple guitar chords backing tight vocal harmonies as the song about girls and not much else. Sure the big hits Help!, Ticket To Ride, and Yesterday are great, but my faves are definitely Act Naturally and I've Just Seen A Face.
Pavement - Wowee Zowee
I'm calling bullshit because Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain was already in this list so you can't include any further Pavement records because that's the best one. Wowee Zowee is also probably their weakest imo, not that it's bad but it's a 9 in a sea of 10s. Pavement lost their edge a bit on this one, it's still a collection of great songs but well Range Life is one of my favorite Pavement songs. That doesn't mean I want an entire album of Range Life.
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pink Floyd is a band that was no stranger to personnel changes. Syd Barrett was the original frontman of the group and left in 68 due to mental health issues. Wish You Were Here is the band's ode to their lost member. David Gilmour's sweeping guitar work perfectly encapsulates the feeling of loss and alienation. It's dreamlike, as if it were a memory barely recollected. That guitar is what carries most of the album, the title track and all nine parts of Shine On You Crazy Diamond live in the spaces between Gilmour's note and Waters' lyrics which come together to eulogize their friend who is still alive but unrecognizable in his deteriorated state. It's weird and tragic, but I think it's beautiful that they made this whole album dedicated to just hoping that Syd could get some help.

Also unrelated but I saw a review for the chinese takeaway near me and it was like "we ordered sweet and sour chicken balls but didn't know they came with sauce so we ordered extra and the owner didn't tell us. 1 star. This establishment should specify you don't need to order the sauce" and I just. Abdjdndjdn. Of course they give u sauce. They always do. Even if u don't want it. Its literally in the name of the fucking dish that they give u sweet and sour sauce. Where have u been going that u need to order it separately bc they r scamming u

BIG BAD THAI RESTAURANT IN EL NIDO PALAWAN A MUST VISIT🫰
Here's my review for Big Bad Thai Restaurant:
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Big Bad Thai Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable meal.
The first thing that struck me was the impeccable service. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to explain various dishes and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Their passion for Thai cuisine was evident, and it enhanced our overall dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Big Bad Thai Restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Thai dishes, and each one we tried was bursting with authentic flavors. The ingredients were fresh, and the dishes were expertly prepared. From the rich and creamy curries to the perfectly balanced stir-fries, every bite was a delightful explosion of taste.
One standout dish was the Pad Thai. It was beautifully presented, with a vibrant combination of noodles, fresh vegetables, succulent shrimp, and a tantalizing sauce that had just the right amount of tanginess. The blend of sweet, sour, and savory flavors was absolutely divine.
Another highlight was the Tom Yum soup. It had a bold and robust flavor profile, with a perfect balance of spiciness and tanginess. The soup was generously filled with plump shrimp, mushrooms, and aromatic herbs, creating a comforting and satisfying bowl of goodness.
The attention to detail extended to the restaurant's atmosphere as well. The décor was tastefully done, with Thai-inspired elements that added to the overall charm. The seating arrangements were comfortable, and the restaurant had a cozy yet lively atmosphere, making it an ideal place for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.
Overall, Big Bad Thai Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the warm and attentive service to the incredible flavors and inviting ambiance, it was a dining experience to remember. Whether you're a Thai food enthusiast or simply looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend visiting Big Bad Thai Restaurant. You won't be disappointed!
PS: We had a nice spot during on our visits right front on the El Nido Beach🫰💙
📍Location: here.
➡️ Fb page: here.
If you are in El Nido guys try to have a quick stop to this restaurant if you are a vegetarian I must say you are in a good place.🫰
Note: If you are a short Filipina like me you cannot have a chance to look yourself in the toilet on the mirror because the mirror is high I mean the mirror is taller than me lol. Anyway is not a problem with me because I saw a similar like in the Italian Pizza hub.
WE DO LOVE THAI FOOD!!!
Have a safe travels to you'll.

himalayan wild yak
🇳🇵 nepali
📍 brambleton town center, ashburn, virginia
📅 dinner; July 2023. 1st time
😋 overall: the centering of yak on their menu makes this nepali restaurant stand out. they don't fuck around with their spice combos!!! everything we tried had complex, interesting flavors that made me want to keep eating (except for the desserts, which were mid). I'd come back to try literally everything else on their menu
more food pix + detailed review under the cut!
🍹 mango lassi - tasted slightly more yogurt-y than mango-y, but a strong-enough mango flavor that I didn't complain upon 1st sip. I wouldn't mind getting it again
🍸 cocktail that I forgot the name of - they didn't put much alcohol in this but I forgive them because this was a delicious drink. i'd get it again!
🍹 zero-proof cocktail that had citrus in it - in love with this flavor combo. this was tangier than it was sweet in a way that made every sip interesting. i'd definitely get it again!
🥩 grilled yak (medium rare) - what a delicious cross-section. I can tell that yak is a tough meat, but the sous vide worked to make it tender. they seasoned this meat simply but effectively; it was a tasty bite. just 1 bite. lol between 5 ppl this appetiser portion was gone way too quickly!!
I would get the entree portion next time lmao
🥟 steamed buffalo momo - honestly I don't remember much about this dish but both the momo and the accompanying sauce were delicious. I don't remember the buffalo having a distinct taste tho 🤔 I was kinda afraid that the buffalo would be tough but then again it's steamed meat.
I'd get it again! I love dumplings lol I wanna try their veg ones next
🍛 spicy pork curry - man we fucked around and found out. this dish (labeled VERY SPICY tbf) HURT to eat a few bites in 🥵🥵🥵 I forgot the texture of the pork but I know it wasn't dry. I kept going back to the sauce even though it was spicy as hell (I felt like a masochist)
I wouldn't get this again cos i couldn't take the heat 😭 like you know when a dish is so spicy that you have trouble focusing on the actual flavors? and then the spiciness lingers in your mouth for a LONG TIME even when you eat other dishes? 😭😭😭
🐐🍚 [in the 1st photo] bone-in goat biryani - they are LYING when they say that it's for 2 because it easily fed our table of 5!!!!! they brought out a whole pot and mixed it right in front of us!!! i looooved the bits of burnt rice. the goat wasn't tough, the spice level was bearable (compared to the pork curry at least lmao), and the spices themselves were wonderfully warming in my mouth. we had like 1.5 portions of this as leftovers
I want this again but also I don't because I wanna try everything else on the menu and my stomach real estate is scarce 😔 what a dilemma
🧄🫓 [in the 1st photo] garlic naan - I'm conflicted whether or not i'd consider this dish as having a reasonable portion cos the slices were a good size but each piece was pretty thin. I definitely wanted more after my piece was gone 😆 the garlic was fragrant but I feel like they could've been heavier with it (but also i'm the type who puts 4x the recommended amount of garlic in recipes).
i'm a sucker for garlic naan. I'd get it again!
🍡 gulab jamun - lots of gulab jamun end up being a chore to eat because they're so soaked with their sugar syrup that they're overwhelmingly sweet. that wasn't the case with this dish tho (maybe that was also accomplished by using honey rather than sugar). as for the yogurt- I feel like it didn't add much to the dish other than being a light element to counteract the heaviness of gulab jamun.
I wouldn't get this again tho like it's not that interesting
🍮 kheer - this is prob the most fragrant rice pudding i've ever had. it's kinda lacking in the taste department tho 😔 slightly sour, in a good way, but not much else going on. it was refreshing to eat after the spicy entrees
I wouldn't get it again. this dessert also wasn't that interesting
-----
💲 price: we were definitely very full! I was surprised by how affordable the food was- each entree was less than $20 and each dessert was $4-5. considering that it's is like 1 of the only restaurants in the DMV that spotlights yak, they offered it at a much cheaper price point than I expected.
🗒️ other notes: this restaurant is COLD AF 🥶 also their space is so huge; I appreciated that they spread out their tables. land is cheap out there in ashburn I guess

Review #2 Taco Bell's Fries Supreme / Fiesta Fries: 9/10 Fries Supreme / Fiesta Fries is a limited menu item made by Taco Bell. It is not available in the United States but is available in the UK and Canada (where I'm from). What can I say about the fries supreme that has not already been said? It’s simply the best of the best when it comes to loaded fries. The cheesy cream sauce is mild yet has a kick to it that surprises. The chili beef, the same used in the burrito, is tender and juicy, coating some of the fries in the small amount of oil you can get from the meat. The tomatoes and sour cream offer a neutral addition that acts to cool the hot fries but also adds a bit of contrasting sweetness that is delicious when paired with the savory toppings. Ever since Yum! Foods acquired both Taco Bell and KFC, merging the two restaurants into one (yes I study fast food history I know it’s sad), The Fries Supreme has been a staple menu item that has honestly done a lot for the item. The KFC fries, with their subtle seasoning and salty thin bite, create the perfect base for these fries. Utterly delicious and even better hot. It’s sad I got these delivered because they were a bit off when they arrived. Best eaten with Taco Bell’s signature mild hot sauce as it offers a layer of delicious seasonings that act as a flavoring for the fries.

Carlton wine room, Carlton
It was my mum’s bday. She loves this place. I do too. It wasn’t that long ago that I was here and had every intention of reviewing it, however too much time passed. So I was happy that we were returning, another chance to critique this well renowned establishment.
Walking in, it’s bustling. Mind you it’s only 6pm, and it’s already busy. Like I said ‘well renowned establishment’. The host was quick to greet us at the door and tell us where our table was. The walls are white, black lights and wooden stools. Nothing offensive here. Classic, clean. We were led upstairs to another section that has round booths, sounds trashy but again it’s classic, kind of New York style.
Our waiter was personable, lovely and attentive. My partner and I arrived a little later than others, however she was quick to serve us a glass of champagne to match the table. Good guess. I love champagne. Carlton wine room is all about sharing. The food is prepared to be enjoyed and dissected by all at the table. I know it sounds bossy, but I usually take charge at places like this. People get overwhelmed and worry about who will like what. I just order as varied as possible to include everyones taste preferences. Most people appreciate it, others may get annoyed. Oh well. We ordered some oysters, Tasmanian. Good, some a little frozen, but of quality. We then ordered an anchovy on fried bread with whipped ricotta and pickled cucumber. We had one vego, the waiter offered to replace the anchovy with a mushroom. My sister in law said it was delicious. Ours was a beautiful starter, thin crispy bread with a subtle mix of salty, sweet and sour. Lovely.
Next was the eggplant dish, this was bursting with flavour. Mint, chilli, currents, with a creamy finish however had texture. The other dish was the asparagus, with an avocado sauce and salmon roe. The roe bursts little salt pop rocks into your mouth, and the avocado balances the dish nicely. I would have preferred less roe, a little overpowering.
The next dish was an obvious favourite, so much so that my partner and brother agreed to order another after the main. This was the stracciatella with pickled mushrooms and chive oil. I cannot describe the decadence of this dish, to look at yuk. To eat, an absolute delight. Look past the frog swamp, grab a potato focaccia( hand made, light and fluffy) and dig in. You won’t regret it.
By this point I had a few Awericanos and a Chardonnay. I decided to order some sparkling, the waiter brought me the champagne from earlier… I didn’t realise until 3 glasses in… whoops. This was also when I realised that we had been waiting over 30mins for our mains…
Our mains were pork and chicken. The pork was served in a mustard style sauce, it was good, however I am a terrible judge of pork. It reminds me of human.. too graphic? Sorry. The chicken had big chunks of bacon, mushroom and a lovely red wine jus. The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and well seasoned. There was also a side of grilled zucchini and ricotta. A lovely palate cleanser.
My sister in law ordered the rigatoni with smoked ricotta, tomato and basil. Before it was ordered I very politely said to the waiter that last time we ordered this the pasta was under cooked and cold. She looked at me sarcastically and said ‘okay I’ll tell the chef to COOK the food this time’. I realise it may have come across as snooty, however I wasn’t being an arsehole and her response was uncalled for. Give me shit behind my back instead. Mind you this wasn’t our original waiter. Figures. When the dish came out, the pasta was al dented however it was cold again… disappointing.
The dessert is worth ordering. I never ever think twice about ordering a rum baba. Seems old school and out of fashion. The Carlton wine rooms rum baba deserves an award. For The booziest rum baba in town. They present it as a slice of cake, rather than the original muffin shape. It also works perfectly as a share dish, everyone just grabs a spoon and digs in to the booze soaked sponge. An absolute triumph.
The Carlton wine room is a great night out. The service is impeccable, the food is well priced and appears to be served with love and passion. There were some gaps, however the positives override any issues. I highly recommend the rum baba, but be warned, if you are driving… you may blow over the legal limit. Take a taxi.

#LaChoy #LaChoySweet&SourSauce #Sweet&SourSauceReview
I tried the La Choy Sweet & Sour Sauce and it was pretty good.
This sauce had a more sour taste and was lightly sweet to me. The sauce's texture was liquidly than thick like other Americanized chinese restaurants sweet & sour sauce.
I would eat this again.
Got at Meijer.

Food Ribiw
ng school namin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
─────────────⋆⋅☆⋅⋆──────────────
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
Food stall no. 1
Food stall no. 2
Freshly cooked, masarap, crispy, at mainit. May flavor pa na BBQ, cheese, at sweet and sour.
Iced tea?

Xu Hue (via SkipTheDishes)
Hey all~ Reviewing a recent SkipTheDishes order today: dinner delivery from Xu Hue.
Xu Hue is a Chinese-Vietnamese restaurant located in Chinatown. Many yrs ago, I came for dine-in with Tina & that was when I had my 1st experience with a Vietnamese street food called banh xeo. It's translated as "Vietnamese crepe", I believe. But yeah.. not many places sell it so I haven't had it since then. Suddenly felt like ordering it finally bcos my coworker ordered :P
I got this for my main: Sweet & Sour Pork with Rice with add-on Pork Chop ($24.95 + $6.00)
I don't think this was worth $30. .. but the quality of the meats was really good! I liked the pork chop flavour a lot. Tbh, I was expecting pork chop with the sweet & sour pork sauce but it wasn't. It had a sweet & savoury coating, that reminded me of cha siu but like. .. better & more savoury. Had fish sauce flavour to it, which I liked. The sweet & sour pork was okay- ginger beef but sweet & sour pork version. Had very thin slices of pork coated in batter & drenched in sauce. The dish came with some veggies, but not much.
TA-daaaa! The banh xeo. This was actually 2 orders haha go big or go home, right?
Each order is a "half circle", which basically means the crepe is folded upon itself. Comes with some lettuce pieces & a side of fish sauce.
The filling of each banh xeo had 3 shrimps, some steamed pork meat & bean sprouts. Everything was very bland! Like. .. BLAND! So definitely use the fish sauce. The pancake itself was super crispy. It survived its delivery trip & still crispy, so I was impressed. Pls note the pancake is very VERY greasy. If you're a health nut, I do not recommend. I wished they soaked some of the grease before packing it. Like it was a little insane =/ the bottom of the take-out container had a mini pool of oil. Eeeeeek!
Would I order again? The rice. .. naaahhhh. The pork chop was my fav part of the meal though. The banh xeo. .. if I REALLY want it. The filling was a total miss for me & each one was $11.95.

Fèlsina Berardenga 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia
Ripe red fruit leads the aromatic charge alongside barnyard, leather, tobacco, cedar and roast coffee. Orange peel nuance ensues to indicate some age. Medium-full, taut and dusty with mineral undertones and vigorous tannins. There's no hiding from sour cherry and lemony acidity assault. Aptly brunelloesque for a Castelnuovo Berardenga but lacks touch of refinement at this stage. — ★★★
Appellation: Chianti Classico Region: Chianti, Toscana, Italy Subzone: Castelnuovo Berardenga Cépage: 100% Sangiovese Abv: 13.5% Production: 45,000 Élevage: 18-20 months in new French oak barriques, 6-8 months in bottle Distributor: Milawa
Critic Reviews:
The 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia emerges from the glass with freshly cut roses, sweet red berries, licorice, spices and tar. This is a mid-weight, silky Rancia that impresses for its textural beauty and finesse. The Rancia emerges from a high-altitude site planted from 1958 through 1982 with Sangiovese. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, but the oak is never noticeable, even when the wine is young. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. Considering its modest price, Rancia remains one of the most fairly priced, cellar worthy wines in the world. Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate, 06/2012) 94
The 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia more than holds its own in this complete vertical. It shows elements of both a cold year in its mid-weight structure and a warmer vintage in its radiant fruit, a combination that represents an attractive stylistic middle ground. I very much like the sense of energy and intensity here. Bright acidity and youthful tannins frame the supple fruit. It will be interesting to see whether the 2009 develops along the lines of the cooler vintage Rancias, or whether the juiciness of the fruit will ultimately prevail in the wine’s balance. Either way, the 2009 is yet another terrific Rancia from Felsina. Drink: 2019-2039. Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate, 06/2012) 94
A well of cherry and licorice notes draws you in, with meat, cherry, currant and spice flavors backed by beefy tannins. This is on the lean, taut side, but vibrant, pure and full of personality. Think steak. To be released late 2012. Best from 2014 through 2025. James Suckling (Wine Spectator, 10/2012) 92
Dark ruby-red. Concentrated aromas of red berries, earth, aromatic herbs and flint. Then rich, suave and full in the mouth, with thick flavors of red and dark fruits, loam and rosemary. The long finish features peppery tannins. This is very impressive but I find it a bit chunkier than most recent versions of Rancia, with less perfume than this high-quality sangiovese usually delivers. Ian d'Agata (International Wine Cellar, 07/2012) 92
Castelnuovo Berardenga. 100% Sangiovese. Maturing ruby. Heady cherry liqueur and orange peel. Dusty! Soft drying tannin and low-key fruit palate. Sound. Drink: 2012-2016. Walter Speller (Jancis Robinson, 03/2012) 15.5
Rancia Riserva opens with ripe plum, red currant and bell pepper aromas. The palate shows flavors of black fruit, chocolate and soy sauce alongside coffee and oak notes. It has nervous energy and intensity, but should develop nicely over the next few years. Kerin O'Keefe (Wine Enthusiast, 10/2013) 88
