Finnish folk metal heroes KORPIKLAANI, who are currently preparing for two Russian shows with Trollfest set to happen today and tomorrow, today release their new digital single Jägermeister and also wish to extend a very warm welcome to their new drummer Samuli Mikkonen! KORPIKLAANI stated: "Every journey has a beginning and an end. After 17 years and many good memories, Matson leaves Korpiklaani. Our new drummer is Samuli Mikkonen. Samuli is formerly known from Profane Omen and Jonne. He already drummed on our Kulkija album, as he played some of the tracks on the record. Samuli has also been a fill-in live drummer for Battle Beast. Samuli is an energetic drummer with a bombastic playing style. Just wait and see!"

 Samuli commented: "I could not be more honoured and excited to become a part of Korpiklaani. My journey with this music started when I joined the Jonne band back in 2013. I had a musical connection with Jonne right away and we began to make songs together. When Korpiklaani was making Kulkija in Petrax Studios in autumn 2017, I was asked to fill in for some songs. At the end of the day I had recorded drums for Neito, Aallon alla, Harmaja, Kotikonnut and Tuttu on tie. I was enjoying the music and we had a great time with the band in the studio. I´m very proud of that album. I have been following the band for two decades now and I´m very thrilled to have a chance to play all those great songs live. See you on the road!"

AVATARIUM To Release 'The Fire I Long For' Album In November

On November 22, doom metal wizards AVATARIUM return with their dark gospel to open another chapter of their hauntingly beautiful otherworld. Only two years after taking the fans by storm with "Hurricanes And Halos", which has been named "album of the month" by magazines worldwide, the Swedes announce the completion of their fourth full-length release. "The Fire I Long For" sees them return to their epic doom roots whilst paying their respects to rock legends like RAINBOW, LED ZEPPELIN and THE DOORS.

Founded in 2012 by Leif Edling of CANDLEMASS, AVATARIUM soon saw the arrival of Marcus Jidell (producer of CANDLEMASS) and Jennie-Ann Smith who brought an air of charisma with her soulful grace. By now, the band has become an entity of its own, and while Leif still contributed three songs for the new album, the band's current nucleus consists of Marcus and Jennie-Ann, who are accompanied on this record by organist Rickard Nilssonand new drummer Andreas "Habo" Johansson (THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM). Together, this open-minded-yet-doom-laden collective draws elements of folk, jazz and psychedelic brilliance into a grandiose amalgamation that manages to maintain an almost pop-like elegance.

Recorded at Studio DeepWell in Stockholm, the album was produced by Marcus Jidell, mixed by Grammy Award winner Niklas Flyckt and mastered by Svante Forsbäck (RAMMSTEIN).

Today, the band unveils the first single off their new album, titled "Rubicon" with a new music video. Check it out below.

Smith comments on the track: "A point of no return, a line drawn in the sand, it's a dark gospel..."

"The Fire I Long For" will include nine mezmerising new tracks featuring Jidell's soaring guitar solos and Smith's powerful soul voice.

Spanish masters of atmospheric doom death metal EVADNE are back with a new full-length album that marks a milestone in their musical activity. This is the most elaborate work of the band to date, with many emotions engrained. EVADNE's music has become even deeper and more sophisticated and, despite its genre; it exists out of time, combining the heaviness of metal and the transparency of symphony. It has everything to express emotions. And night falls here, and in the depths of shadows, the pale glow of fireflies is born. Carlin van Ross ( Remembrance, Lethian Dreams, Aythis ) and Jaani Peuhu ( Iconcrash), who worked with Before The Dawn, Swallow The Sun, To / Die / For, Thunderstone, etc.) took part in the album recording. Svante Forsbäck ( Rammstein, Entombed, Candlemass, 69 Eyes, etc.) from Chartmakers West studio was in charge of the sound on the album, and it is truly amazing! The album comes as a four-panel digipack with a twelve-page booklet. The visual part is represented by photos by Russian photographer Natalia Drepina, a psychologist of dark nature and deep images that make you comprehend the surrounding reality and explore your inner world.
