@mused-like-roses replied to your post “"Nobody touches my bike except me." "NOBODY!"”:
Yang touches the bike, "Oh noooo, I touched the bike! What're you gonna do about it?" She's poking the bear as you can see.
BGM: Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls - IF Theme
"Hope you're ready to get your butt kicked. Cause I'm going all out! DEMONIC INFERNO!"
Suddenly several fire based explosions occurred around Yang, then an eruption of fire magic appeared at their feet! IF definitely was not happy at Yang's efforts to poke fun.

Some thoughts on my last Gamefly rental: Superdimension Neptune Vs Sega Hard Girls.
A draw I had to the game was IF being the main character and the exploration parts shown off. She usually plays the straight man to everyone else(like Neptune’s meta-humor), but sometimes gives in. Her freaking out about Neptune becoming/possessing her bike(it makes as much sense in context) was great. There’s a good amount of the exploring parts, though some were just added to old Neptunia maps(like the canyon area where it was really easy to screw yourself over early on in Neptunia VII). There’s some new maps, though.
One thing I like about Neptunia and the Sega Hard Girls is the media/game/console references they bring up. Like how Game Gear wears bulky cloths and gets tired easily, referencing the size and low battery life of the system itself. It’s fun to just read up on the characters and references, themselves. The anime Hi-sCoool! SeHa Girls is all about them, if you’re interested in checking that out.
For anyone wondering, the game is in it’s own continuity, and focused on the Sega-inspired CPUs, so there’s only Neptune, Nepgear, Plutia and Uzume. They’re the Neptunia counterparts to Sega Saturn, Game Gear, Mega Drive and Dreamcast, respectively.
I recommend a guide for some parts, like finding all the baseballs, as well as an admittedly cheap boss strategy. This is the one I used.
Next game being sent is: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.

A Look at Stuff You Probably Never Heard Of: Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls
A while ago, I talked about the Sega Hard Girls anime, which had the various Sega consoles as human girls. I ended the entry by mentioning that there was going to be a crossover game between Sega Hard Girls and Hyperdimension Neptunia. So today, we’ll be looking at Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls! (Under Read More for length)
Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls is a T-rated game released for the Playstation Vita. It was initially released in Japan on November 26, 2015 as Super Dimension War Neptunia VS Sega Hard Girls: Dream Combination Special. It was eventually released in the US on October 18, 2016. And like the rest of the games in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, it was published by Idea Factory and developed by Compile Heart and Felistella.
An important note to mention is that since this is a crossover game, nothing from the other HDN games are canon and none of the characters know each other.
In the distant future, the world is in ruin from an unknown catastrophe. IF is a lone wanderer, traveling from town to town on her bike, searching for adventure. Until suddenly, she spots an unconscious young woman falling from the sky, catching her in time before she hits the ground. A short while later, she finds the Grand Library, run by a tome named Histoire (Ultradimension’s Mini-Histy), whose job is to observe and record history. While exploring the library, IF is attacked and knocked out. After awaking, the young woman wakes up, introducing herself as Segami, but has lost her memory, apart from her name. It is then discovered that history is disappearing, causing various damages to the timeline. Since history needs someone to observe it, Histoire converts IF’s precious bike into a time machine (much to IF’s chagrin). So IF and Segami travel back in time to figure out what’s wrong. They first start at the Sega Saturn Era, only to find Sega Saturn attempting to fight Neptune, who doesn’t want anything to do with a fight. They’re also able to travel to the Mega Drive Era (the first era and has Mega Drive and Plutia), Game Gear Era (coming after Sega Saturn Era and having Game Gear and Nepgear), and Dreamcast Era (containing Dreamcast and Uzume).
As they travel through the eras, they make contact with not just the Goddesses (only the various CPUs of Planeptune. That being Neptune, Nepgear, Uzume, and Plutia), but also the Sega Hard Girls, Sega Saturn, Mega Drive, Game Gear, and Dreamcast. The Grand Library works as the central hub, with Histoire providing missions, but there’s also a shop, library, and archive. Thing is, the two groups are constantly fighting, each era having a Hard Girl and a Goddess fighting. For example; Sega Saturn fights against Neptune in one era while Mega Drive fights with Plutia. And for the first and so far, only, time in the series, IF can transform into Awakened Flame IF, which is pretty much a color change, but like the Goddess’ HDD forms, comes with increased stats.
Like every other Hyperdimension Neptunia game, there are two sections; dungeon exploring and battles. In dungeons, the leader character is free to explore what they can, jumping over obstacles. But in this game only, they can also crawl through tight spaces and swing across bars. Not to mention it’s also possible to run and perform a running jump to cross large gaps and climb on certain vertical surfaces. Of course, making contact with an enemy starts a battle.
In battle, things play out like most other HDN games. But the difference being that there are no Rush, Power, or Break combs. Just attack. Not only that, but you’re free to stop attacking at any time without wasting the rest of a character’s turn. For example, it’s possible to have a character attack a few times, then end with an item or use a skill. You can also hold down the attack button for a Charged Attack. Actions are judged by a bar at the side of the screen with more actions making the bar rise. Once the bar has risen to the Over section, that character is forced to stop and end their turn, which is done by pressing the Right bumper. But if the bumper is pressed while in the Guard section, that character will guard. It’s also worth noting that where the bar stops when a character dictates when they can attack again. So if go into Over, that character will have to wait a while, as opposed to someone who, say, attacked once before ending their turn. Finally, on the field, special items will spawn, some giving health while others give mana. For the first time in the series, characters can jump while in battle, which is used to get those items. There are also very special items that can only be reached by Goddesses while they’re in HDD. And by attacking, you generate Fever. At 100%, a star will show up. Grabbing it will grant the entire party Fever Mode. In Fever Mode, enemies will be unable to get a turn until it ends and characters can spend as much SP as they please.
While good music is par for the course in the Neptunia series, but special mention goes to the opening theme, “Symmetric generation” by nao. The music that plays in Fever Mode is also very exciting and blood-pumping. Nothing special for the visuals, are they’re also standard, with many dungeons from previous HDN games being used here, albeit with some new ones. But even then, some returning dungeons also get a slight remake, especially since there’s the function of time travel. As what you can access in one era may be blocked off in another and vice-versa. Not to mention that some enemies only appear in a certain era. So if you’re looking for a specific enemy but can’t find it, you may be in the right dungeon, but the wrong era.
Boy, this was a lengthy one. But now it’s time for my Final Recommendation: Never Let Go Of It||Get It||Hold Onto It||Try It||Consider It||Stay Away From It
Believe it or not, this was my introduction to the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. But anyway, while the game is certainly enjoyable, there are problems. Main one being that Neptune is far more obnoxious in this game. There’s also the fact that Segami is a massive brat. Another problem is the massive change the Hard Girls undertake in the game. The biggest change being Dreamcast, who’s normally very friendly and sweet, if somewhat ditzy, who dislikes fighting (even though she’s skilled with her Dreamblade). But in this game, she’s highly violent towards Uzume, whom she believes is destroying the world. Not to mention she’s somewhat arrogant. IF is also a bit more rude and insulting than usual. She’s quick to get very mad and even quicker to insult people. It’s also worth noting that there’s a lot more swearing in this game, such as IF saying “damn” and “hell” much more often than in the other games. Even “shit” is said more often, as opposed to once or twice in each of the other games. There’s also the aforementioned exploring. While cool in and of itself, IF has a habit of saying “Here we go!” whenever she enters a crawl space or climbs a wall.
But there are some enjoyable things, such as Neptune breaking the fourth wall, as usual. It’s also pointed out that the Game Gear Era should have come before the Sega Saturn Era. For those unaware, the Game Gear was released before the Sega Saturn. But, in this context, if the Game Gear Era can before Sega Saturn’s, then Nepgear would be Neptune’s older sister.
I also wish to mention that while the four main Hard Girls play a big role, IF can also interact with the other Hard Girls in the Grand Library. Mega Drive 2 (Mega Drive’s younger sister) runs the shop, TeraDrive runs the Library, and Master System runs the Archive. But others, such as Genny (Sega Genesis), Mega CD, and Visual Memory to name a few show up in Chirper Events. Robo Pitcher also shows up, requiring you to pick up baseballs you find in dungeons that you can return them to her.
This game also does away with Plans for the most part. That being you unlock new dungeons by helping NPCs and completing Quests. Plans are now completely optional things in a separate menu that change how you play the game, such as always getting Symbol Attacks or said Symbol Attacks not only automatically defeating an enemy, but also getting EXP, Credits, and Item Drops. This also includes causing powerful enemies to spawn in certain dungeons in certain eras. Not only that, but this game also introduces Class Changes, which gives a stat change and some new abilities. Eventually, a character can reach their ultimate class.
Wow, this was really lengthy! But it’s finally over. So, I’ll see you guys next month. Next month, we’ll be looking at something you wouldn’t expecting to see from the Dr. Seuss franchise.

I'm an incredible fan of making databases for stuff I own and collect, and I've been having a videogames and consoles one since 2019. After having convinced myself that I needed to make one for mangas too (which was a brilliant idea, considering how in the same manga series you could even have more than 20 volumes, and it can get pretty messy if you don't neatly write down the ones you have), I finally completed yet another database for Light Novels XD. This made me realize that I absolutely forgot to review volume 1 from Occultic;Nine (in the same series Steins;Gate belongs to). Would you like me to review it on the Journal (spoiler free ofc)? It could be nice to review light novels from time to time. . #superdimensionneptunevssegahardgirls #neptunia #segahardgirls #sega #segadreamcast #segasaturn #megadrive #segaretro #retrogaming #psvita #hyperdimensionneptunia #playstationvita #vmu #dreamcastvmu #dreamcast #galaxyaesthetic #gamergirl #gamergirls https://www.instagram.com/p/CpQeO-YoDC-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Superdimension Neptune Coming to Steam June 12th
What an odd coincidence, I was just wondering about when this port was coming out this morning. And yesterday. And a couple of days before that. Maybe it’s not a coincidence, maybe I’m just impatient.
Idea Factory announced on their Facebook today that the Steam port of Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls will be releasing on June 12th, 2017, with the announcement touting the touched-up 1080p graphics. A store page has gone up and the game is available for wishlisting. I hope this game has a joke about Dreamcast and her shitty dial-up internet.
