Don't know why but I feel skylanders vibes even in Transformers one, maybe because of the child friendly designs in 3d of the bots,

and I relate the holograms from the archive at the beginning to the book you enter in superchargers.

Plus remember when I said that the Spellslamzer may be a fragment of the entity of Dormin from Fumito Ueda's games?

It could actually make sense because besides being the only of his "Skylands native kind" to have odd eyes and be all covered by the cloak but obviously all darkness he also could spit in fight like the full body of Dormin became many shadows beings like in Ico and like the Queen of the game he's smart and can talk and apparently can open portals to bring the opponents to another dimension like "he" does come from an outer world.

what cars i think the women of arcane drive

a thread nobody asked for or wanted, but idc let me indulge in mixing my niche interests with my fixations (not that cars are a niche interest but i feel like tumblr fangirls aren't really the target audience for this LOL)

also ironically posting this as i'm currently waiting for a tow for my car 😭. surprisingly it's not even the project car this time, it's the shitbox daily (i say shitbox with love)

SEVIKA

1996 Volvo 850R Wagon

inline-5 turbo, def has the 5-spd manual

she's always loved volvo's. they're tough cars, not to mention pretty reliable.

she definitely drives manual. every car she's ever had has been manual, she loves the control it gives her over the car she hunted to find the manual version of this car, as they're pretty rare.

sure, there's other volvo wagons. hell most of their well-known older cars are wagons. but a muscular woman loves a good sleeper build (the opposite of her). so the inline-5 turbo engine had her sold.

though, in my heart i wanted to say a 90s subaru outback, that's a little too predictable. so my head cannon is that her first car ever was a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback

JINX

1985 Subaru XT AND a 1990 Honda CRX

1.8L turbo boxer-4 engine, part-time 4wd train, and 5-spd manual transmission

i think jinx would love the uniqueness of the XT. the exterior is odd and wedge-shaped, and she loves the pop ups. if the movie back to the future existed in the arcane universe, she definitely got it because it reminds her of a better Delorean

the interior is an entirely different story too. she LOVES the interior design. it feels exactly like something she had designed in her dreams, with the quirky steering wheel, button panels, and a digital gauge cluster that makes it feel like she's in a video game.

although she loves the XT6 and she knows the XT's turbos are a little weaker than the XT6, the interior and part-time 4wd sold the XT for her.

and also they're both slow subaru's anyways

not to mention, she got it partly because of her resentment towards Caitlyn and the Pilties. the second she read that magazine cover that said, "The kind of car Mercedes might have built if they were a little more frugal and a lot more inventive" - she was hooked. if Caitlyn and her Pilties drove Mercedes and Cadillacs, then Jinx loved the idea of driving the antithesis of that.

JINX'S DAILY

1990 HONDA CRX

def has the 1.6L si, 5-spd manual transmission

as much as she loved her XT, it is an old subaru. so her daily is of course, the Honda CRX

she decided to keep it stock for that Honda reliability™️, though she almost impulsively bought a gt35 turbo, and she almost straight piped it, but decided on an aftermarket exhaust instead. that 30mpg was too valuable to give up

of course she'd get the factory teal color

VIOLET

4th gen (2003-2004) SVT Cobra Mustang

supercharged 4.6L V8, 6-spd manual transmission

i think vi would be drawn to the body style of the 3rd gen fox body mustangs, but would prefer something a little newer and thought the 4th gen SVT was a good in between.

if the looks didn't sell her, the 32-valve V8 definitely did. the 6-spd manual transmission was an added bonus too.

as much as she liked the idea of the convertible.. she knew it wouldn't have been practical. she knew she had enemies, and she knew driving into dangerous territory with a soft top wasn't the safest idea

of course she'd get a dark blue one. even though she's known for hot pink, that dark blue color reminded her of Caitlyn

i can definitely imagine her teaching Caitlyn how to drive manual in this car

(in my head bc this is my universe, i like to think she vowed to never succumb to the mustang stereotypes... until she ran over a goon supplying shimmer. she couldn't beat the allegations after that.)

CAITLYN

1997 Mercedes r129

5.0L V8, 5-spd automatic

i like to think that this was always one of her dream cars. her family was a mercedes family growing up, so obviously she would want a mercedes coupe when she was old enough to drive

her father didn't particularly approve of Caitlyn getting the V12, as cool as it might be, so he settled on the middle option of the V8.

while getting the paint touched up, Caitlyn found out that the color was called 'grey-violet', and she thought it was fate.

pls keep in mind that i'm a japanese car girly, most cars i've worked on have been jdm's. i've only helped out a couple friends with their american brand cars, and ive never touched a german car with a 10ft pole. so if my knowledge isn't up to par for all of the cars... my b

since im really struggeling getting myself to draw (and also feel not great physically)- heres some more notes for the totk rewrite (dungeons specifically... it got long again ...):

(just as a recap for those that havent seen my many ramblings of it before; in this rewrite i rewrote nearly everything, mechanics, gameplay, story etc- theres also no mystery stones and no rauru/sonia, and zelda doesnt travel anywhere and is your permanent companion instead; the abilities of your friends are tied to their personal weapons (more specifically, its charged with their magic after having and using them for years) which they gift to you at the end of each dungeon/after the miniboss of it (doesnt mean they lose it themselves bc they can use another weapon to channel their magic through, its not like botws literaly giving you their ability, you get a supercharged battery AND a permanent special weapon out of it) )

teba and tulin are a team here, one of each channels their magic through the bow, the other through the arrows (havent decided which which but id say teba bow and tulin arrows bc hes kid still but idk) and the ability is different if you use only the bow, only the arrows, or both combined-

their dungeon involves tulin being a little full of himself, stealing tebas bow and rushing in alone, which ends up with him being captured/eaten by a monster, somethign you dont get to see (to increase tension he is just gone) teba is now without his way to channel his magic AND without his best weapon (and also anxious bc its .. his kid that disappeared)- you find the bow and arrows along with some feathers before going into the fight to the miniboss, during which you free tulin from it and fight the rest of it together; tulin has learned his lesson and works together with teba now (also let him be actually scared like a kid would be) and you go on to do the rest of the dungeon during which teba and tulin get used to using their magic together, followed by the boss (i dont have that one down to detail yet, something wormy perhaps) and then they gift you their bow and arrows

yunobo isnt there when you reach the settlement of the gorons (i think i moved it away from death mountain bc its like .. dont repeat that location like that AGAIN man, and death mountain is also largely collapsed, actualyl changing the map and all)- you learn he went to investigate somethign with two others and didnt return, doing so bc he wanted to be helpful and prove that he is not as scared and timid as he used to be-

you enter the dungeon and a little bit into it you find his weapon (now perhaps having been used as a weapon by a regular enemy so its not as much the same as the tebas bows or locked away or soemthing .. oaky i dont have ALL the details yet :/ BUT it is different here bc you get his ability with his weapon right away, you get teba+tulins only at the end) and before what is obviously the miniboss are the two gorons that accompanied yunobo, but they act weird and threaten you (kinda like the guys at the gates of the actual game bc that moment was really creepy, one of the few thigns i thought were cool ... only to be extremely lackluster as they were just mean and not actually agressive ....), saying that you shouldnt disturb the boss (as in, yunobo) and you should give them his weapon since it doesnt belong to you, when you refuse you actually have to fight them until they are knocked out (maybe by zelda, to avoid having you literally kill them, but they do get hurt)

then you get to the room and yunobo is posessed (NOT by a stupid wrestler mask) in a really creepy malice way, after which he regains his senses and he allows you to keep the weapon but he goes back to his hurt companions to get them to safety after you tell him what happened which leaves you to do more of the dungeon without him but he gets back fairly quickly (and also got a new weapon while he was at it)

the boss here i wanted to be the possessed remains of an ancient long dead goron, as the setting for the dungeon being either a lost city (like .. an actual thing that looks like one) or an ancient mine where some accident may have happened you will never be able to learn about (sometimes that is a good thing) which was hijacked by ganondorf literally only bc it was convenient way to try and get your friends killed and thus weaken the enemy forces (instead of .. leading you right to the thing he doesnt want you to get or something .. god totk makes so little sense ...)

so, sidon, i dont have that much detail for yet BUT, the zora dungeon is located in a vast underground cave system (under water), the zora waterworks (bc im mad they put that in jsut to make you press a button once to make a waterfall from a floating goddamn island in tHE AIR-)

at some part of it you encounter weird and glowy looking zoras you cant even recognize as such at first as they are a group of zora that were cut off from all others for centuries and thus changed into very different looking ones, also different language so no easy communication (you were only able to encounter them bc the cataclysm shook the earth and reconnected the cave systems so they could reach further up and you down)

perhaps in this dungeon the main enemies are those different zoras (maybe they were the ones keeping the waterworks active this whole time and its the main reason why the surface zora had their area be as watery and lush- the deep sea zoras keeping it running only bc its their tradition/temple/living space ... now perhaps, the ones that were cut off from the others back in the day might have been the workers doing maintenance but the knowledge of all that was buring by time) when you fight them and ther HP is low they either swim away quickly or curl up into a unique defensive mechanism in which you cant hurt them anymore-

the miniboss i could see as being a fight with their queen (who is creepy looking and much taller than sidon, keeping that trend of royal zoras being way bigger) at the end of which the actual boss of the dungeon (dont know what yet, eel? bc it can shoot out from the dark quickly? or a deep sea kraken?) attacks you both, snatching up both sidon and the queen but since he is so much smaller he can escape its grasp while she gets taken (not without a fight mind you)

after this the other zoras dont attack you anymore and jsut hide immediately- at halfway to defeating the boss the queen is able to free herself and then joins you in the fight, at the end of which sidon tends to her wounds (as he has a healign ability here) making it clear to her that he is not their enemy, once you are outside he gifts you a shield (or spear?) earning you his ability and later the queen and some of the other deep sea zoras can be found at the zora settlements (but only at night as they are sensitive to the sun

(ALTERNATIVELY- i havent decided which version yet, BUT alternative version would be that there is no monster at the zora dungeon, it is "just" those deep sea zoras, the miniboss could be a higher in command deep sea zora and the main boss the queen and the end being either she is that kind of honorable person that respects your strength and thus doesnt attack you further OR you beat her and then sidon heals her again so its clear we dont actually want to harm them, sicne you cant talk to them (language barrier!)- i like this one almost more sicne it shakes up the formula and also, ganondorf has spent so long in his prison beneath the earth he would know these zoras where there and they would clash with the others, no need to always put monsters there, save energy, make them take out each other uwu)

riju; i unfortunately havent gotten much of anything for the gerudos as of yet sicne its a bit harder to figure out (with how i wrote ganondorf here its a bit more tricky, does he go easy on them even though he doesnt want to bc he still has a soft spot for them? does he do it even worse bc he hates how he was abandoned and how they sided with hyrule? does he not influence anything at all there and maybe its jsut something else that is making trouble? still figuring it out)- the only thing i know i really want to be there is a big ol room with redeads/gibdoes(?) you have to sneak through and something waking them up when you are in the middle of it (like the labyrinth in botw where you drop down and get a million guardian laser on you)- and perhaps the boss could be vah naboris that fell into the underground and was overtaken by malice (but like, in pieces and with malice arms and eyes, rly creepy etc)

koga is the other, unexpected ally in the rewrite, his dungeon would be locked until after you did the mid games bossfight against ganondorf (actual him)- its located in the akkala fortress, one part in the upper, now accessible, part the other in the secret shiekah part on the underside, kogas quest would be longer to get to the actual dungeon (still a wip) but i know its locked by a mechanism only he can open/use and you cant get his quest further until you did the midboss;

it does involve learning little bits about him (since im including my hc for him as being an ancient shiekah monk that lived through the persecution of them and is still living bc he did malice experiments on himself), miniboss could be either a shiekah security system (since we didnt have all that much shiekah stuff so far) or perhaps koga himself who briefly turns against you again (bc that would kinda .. track wouldnt it?)- before the actual boss there is a corpse of a shiekah that was stabbed with a hylian spear (implying that they made them lock the door and then killed them anyway)

the boss is a yiga (without arms? or ripping them off durign the fight, and their head was shot through so no face no voice) thats completely overtaken my malice with big wallmaster like hands and all, but still occasionally using old shiekah techniques (perhaps koga is very atpyical silent during it)- just before the boss dies it reaches out to him and koga grabs its hand like a trusted companions ... after it is gone he says something about it having once been an old friend of his

(dont know if would include this directly BUT the though of that it was a shiekah of the same age as him that founded the yiga clan together with him, they were a researcher who did those malice experiments on themself first and it made them overconfident to a point in which they tried to assassinate the king of hyrule of that time all on their own and got killed by the princess (hence the hole in the face), they survived .. more or less but as a stationary unkillable ... thing, was locked away and over time grew to be agressive and it was moved to the akkala underground without koga knowing what had happened to them for all the following centuries)

Kontio

Created during Ramiel Bekker's time with the Rasalhague Dominion, the Kontio is a feared yet controversial design. Apparently inspired by an encounter with a concealed ghost bear, the 'Mech makes use of stealth armor and—more controversially—claws, the implications of which came to a head when Bekker impaled his opponent in an initial combat trial. While the manner of his victory was inherently dishonorable, the efficacy of the design could not be denied, and the production of a test run was authorized, soon followed by sudden demand from Clan Wolf.

Primarily an export 'Mech, the Kontio has found a home within not just the ranks of Clan Wolf but the Capellan Confederation as well, from which the design's stealth armor and Triple Strength Myomer were acquired. In addition, the 'Mech sees some use among native Rasalhague warriors, who have far fewer qualms about the nature of its armament than their Ghost Bear brethren.

Having garnered a deadly reputation as a pilot killer, the Kontio is often focused down as a priority target or avoided outright by those who would find themselves opposing one, fearing they too may find themselves impaled on its claws if it gets too close.

A melee assassin first and foremost, the Kontio's loadout revolves around enabling its pilot to evasively close with their target and get the most out of its signature Triple Strength Myomer-enhanced claws.

The combination of a Kolibri Delta Series medium pulse laser and three Series 1 ER small lasers in each side torso, and the use of only 10 double heat sinks allows the 'Mech to quickly reach and maintain the heat levels required to activate its TSM. This greatly enhances the destructive potential of its claws and allows it to achieve the pilot kills the 'Mech is known for, while still providing respectable short-ranged firepower. Finally, almost as an afterthought, a Series 3c micro pulse laser was added to assist it against enemy infantry.

Powering the 'Mech is a 280-rated extralight engine, which saves weight while propelling it to a brisk 118.8 km/h. The use of a supercharger and the TSM enables it to momentarily sprint at speeds of 172.8 km/h. When coupled with its eight and a half tons of stealth armor and ECM suite, this speed enables the Kontio to deftly avoid enemy fire while rapidly closing with its targets. Lastly, the use of endo steel structure is employed in order to save additional weight for weapons and equipment.

Percy swung his legs over the edge of bed so that he sat where Annabeth stood. Reaching slightly upwards, his hands came upon her slender waist as a devious grin melted over his lips. “So, you sure you don’t wanna go to Spain?”

Grinning wryly, her adoring fingers surfed throughout his pitch black hair. “I’m sure, Percy.”

“Think about it for a second, though.” Sitting still, he leered upwards. There was ample fondness in his eyes, as well as a certain mischievous glimmer. “Close your eyes, come on. I’ll help you picture it.”

“Percy, we really can’t go—”

“Humor me.”

She stared down at him with great skepticism—but not for long; as always, those smirking lips betrayed her façade of maturity. Even at their most puerile, Annabeth could rarely resist his pointless games. He preferred the blame on a slight suspicion that she might have a thing for him. Maybe just a little bit.

This romance had endured almost ten years so far, and he was more certain of their everlasting love than he was certain of anything else in this life; however, something he had come to understand over the years (and especially in these dreary graduate days), was that a calm, stable love life had to be fueled like an engine, nourished like the body, and tended to like a garden. It was different from the fiery love of their tumultuous youth, who was its own distinct and tireless beast—a beast with fangs and bleeding claws that slashed through villains seeking its destruction. It had been violent by force; summer after summer and year after year, there had always been something standing in the way of their peaceful romance: the gods, the monsters, the prophecies, and all else, as if the universe couldn’t stand to see himself and Annabeth together.

And so the stubborn violence of their mutual love was supercharged by sheer defiance to their enemies. It was a powerful feeling. So now, as temperate adults with fairly normal lives (barring the occasional monster attack or godly interruption), they had to nurture their love with manual affections. Like any other normal couple. And it really hadn’t been such a difficult transition; consistent displays of casual tenderness came naturally to them. Percy brewed her morning coffee in the exact way that she liked, or he washed her favorite thermos without being asked. She helped him with school when all sense was dethroned by ADHD, she kissed him in the morning before dashing off to work. He always touched her like something sacred. She made him feel so needed and important. If “forever” could only be like this, forever, then he was all the more eager to be her husband for the rest of his days.

As a smile was just blooming on your face, it was halted by Namjoon's next words.

Fixing you with a hard stare to accompany his last words, he was effective in making you shrink in your seat. You knew exactly who he was talking about.

And that person was waiting for you right outside.

On leaving the office, you found Jungkook leaning up against the wall. Jin and Namjoon had hung back, leaving you alone as you emerged, and you instantly rolled your eyes. Determined not to be deterred, you kept walking down the corridor, trying to fix your eyes ahead – firmly away from the infuriating man that watched your approach.

“Scared yet?” his smirk bled through his words. You were almost upon him at this point, and he pushed away from the wall, blocking the way with his black-clad body.

Eyes flicking up to him, unimpressed, you tapped your foot.

“Why would I be scared?”

One corner of his mouth curved up, looking you in the eye as he leaned a little closer.

“We aren’t heroes, honey.”

“Thanks for spelling that out, Jungkook,” you drawled, making to step past him.

His laughter followed you while you started walking away.

“Need help packing?” he called.

“Hey, Jungkook,” Jin’s stern voice joined him, “no need. She’s not going anywhere.”

Jungkook’s silence spoke volumes.

Glancing back as you reached the end of the corridor, you were met with the livid expression that seemed so familiar. Jungkook’s eyes bulged with shock. You were sure that Jin’s hand on his shoulder was all that was holding him back.

Making the most of his eyes on you, you flashed a serene smile and walked away.

On reflection, this makes a lot of sense. Homestuck's fandom is pretty large, and some of its members were bound to be involved in the production of mainstream media. Still, it's wild to see a Homestuck reference - or, technically, a Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff reference - on the official Twitter for a show this big.

And Aradia does have a lot in common with Dulcinea, doesn't she? For one thing, they didn't really start influencing the plot until after they died.

(Which feels weird, because Gamzee’s been mutating into a slasher villain while Vriska’s still very much an antihero protagonist. Usually the power balance is the other way around with those archetypes!)

On the face of it, Gamzee didn't seem to have great odds in that fight - but it's hard to know for sure with this pesky Bard. His Strife Deck contains plenty of cards we haven't seen, and whatever he did to the Black King is still shrouded in mystery. Everything's just so uncertain with him.

What's he up to now? Hard to say since we're not telling him what to do. Guardians can never be told what to do.

The aura of menace he's cultivated is incredible, especially considering he barely even moves. He's playing the entire cast like a fiddle, armed with nothing but a typewriter and his own supercharged brain - and there's no doubt in my mind that his confidence isn't a mask. He knows he's going to win in the end.

I was assuming that only Alpha Timeline deaths would be preserved by the Bubbles, but you're right - I'm not sure that was a reasonable assumption.

The Horrorterrors seem to eschew the concept of the Alpha Timeline. and, they've coordinated with both Doomed and Alpha versions of Rose and Dave. Plus, yeah, there is no time in the Ring, so timelines are probably meaningless there. Why would it only interface with the Alpha?

If the Bubbles do preserve doomed souls, then we might also run into the John who died to Typheus, and the Jade he couldn't save. That's a pair of ghosts I'd be very interested to meet.

It's funny, actually - I don't think I've encountered a single asker who accepts the quadrants as they're originally described.

The main issue is that, with the possible exception of matespritship, we haven't seen a single troll relationship with reflects the infodump's explanation of the quadrants. I think Hussie might just have jumped the gun a little when dropping it.

Thank you! I've tried to write before, actually, but whenever I reread my stories, they come off as esoteric, stilted and a little hard to follow. It's not an insurmountable problem, of course, and I really need to take a writing workshop at some point.

I'd love to make a webcomic, too, but my art also leaves a lot to be desired. I can adapt sprites just fine, but original drawings are hard, guys. Did anyone else know about this?

I have a question can a ac/20 use high velocity rounds or would that just destroy the barrel and feeding loader for using a round like that? Been looking into getting ammo for the ac/20 that is not the stander ones. Trying to make my marauder be a sniper one for long range shooting, since it’s configured for long range sniping.

I would look into the Hypervelocity Autocannon line. It offers increased range over the standard models, though at the cost of less ammo per ton. There is no AC/20 variant, unfortunately. But the HVAC/10 does have a 33% greater maximum range than a standard AC/10. And even with the ammunition being more bulky, it still loads 8 shots per ton compared to an AC/20's 5 shots per tons. So you only lose 20% of your maximum potential damage per ton. Also, while the HVAC/10 weighs the same as your AC/20 (14 tons for both options) the HVAC/10 takes up 40% less internal space - you could use that space to upgrade your 'Mech with an Endo-Composite chassis...

All right. I have taken the liberty of designing you a full refit for your Marauder, with some help from my sibkin Xerxes.

Marauder MAD-3R-LS

To explain - the refit features upgraded weapons (all with extended range over your current loadout). The ERPPCs are effective out to nearly 700 meters. They are backed up by an HVAC/10 autocannon, effective out to 600 meters, fed by 3 tons of ammunition - enough for 4 continuous minutes of fire - in a CASE II protected ammunition bin (meaning you need not fear an ammo explosion any longer). As backup weapons, the standard medium lasers have been swapped for Clan ER medium lasers, giving you 66% increased range and 40% higher energy output for the same weight and bulk.

In terms of armor, there was enough space to fit Clan ferro-fibrous armor, meaning you now have slightly increased armor protection for less weight. We did have to make the cockpit slightly smaller, but the controls are now fully customizable, so you should not have any issues piloting - the cockpit is also now armored, with additional exterior armor to protect you from side and rear ambushes. We also managed to fit in a Clan endo-steel chassis, saving you further weight for no decrease in the chassis strength. We added in Clan double heat sinks and a Radical Heat Sink systems, as well as a combat computer and modifications to the weapons themselves. With all of those combined, you no longer have to worry about heat build-up except in the most intense situations - which should help with your comfort both in combat and when traveling.

Since you seem to be doing a lot of traveling on your own, and getting into quite a few battles on your own, we also added a supercharger, a Clan active probe (with some software patches to extend detection range to 210 meters), and a Clan ECM suite - in short, you can now move faster, detect enemies at much longer ranges, and the enemy will find it more difficult to hit you in combat - and you can effect a measure of stealth using the ECM suite to spoof enemy sensors.

Finally, we managed to keep the increased rotational ability of the arms, and mounted the HVAC on a directional mount, just like the original Marauder - meaning you can still fire behind you if needed. In addition, we increased the torso rotation speed and tolerances, meaning you can torso twist further in the same amount of time - useful if you find yourself surrounded. We added a predictive battle analysis system that should help alert you to enemy moves before they make them, letting you act faster in combat. Finally, we added multi-trac and variable targeting programming to the targeting computer, as well as accurized your weapons (and stabilized the HVAC/10 for firing on the move) - loosely translated, this means you can target multiple opponents at the same time with less issue, and you will be much more likely to hit them, even while moving.

In terms of comfort, we added improved communications equipment. This will allow you to somewhat cut through enemy ECM jamming and link up to any orbiting satellites to get a better picture of your surroundings in combat (as well as tune into local broadcasts for entertainment while out on mission). And finally, we used the remaining space in the head to fit an extensive set of amenities. A full-size hideaway bed, a compact but advanced kitchen unit, a fold-out toilet, a compact shower, and a half of cargo space to carry your own additional supplies with you. We also added a rumble seat - in case you ever find yourself with a passenger.

I have taken the liberty of sending you the refit files in question. If you bring your 'Mech to any Sea Fox licensed MechTech shop, present the waiver included in the files, and they will refit your Marauder to these exact specifications.

I have also arranged for the entire cost of the refit to be covered with no debt on your part.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is once again under the microscope—this time back in Florida, where she’s been accused of turning the Justice Department into a tool for political revenge. The ethics complaint, first reported by the Miami Herald, was filed Thursday by a nearly 70-person coalition of attorneys, law professors, and former Florida Supreme Court justices, including Barbara Pariente, James Perry, and Peggy Quince. They accuse Bondi of “serious professional misconduct that threatens the rule of law and the administration of justice.” According to the filing, Bondi violated Florida Bar rules by using her office to serve President Donald Trump’s political goals, pressuring DOJ lawyers to “violate their ethical obligations under the guise of ‘zealous advocacy.’”  The complaint also says that she threatened to discipline—or outright fire���any lawyer who didn’t comply, claiming that Bondi played a central role in a wave of high-level DOJ resignations and terminations.

Among them was the ousting of veteran prosecutor Denise Cheung, who resigned after refusing to investigate a Biden-era contract without evidence. Her resignation letter ended up in the hands of Trump ally Ed Martin. Another was Erez Reuveni, a seasoned immigration lawyer who was reportedly let go after objecting to the imprisonment of Kilmar Ábrego García, an asylum seeker who was wrongly deported and jailed in El Salvador due to a bureaucratic error. 

DOJ officials dismissed the complaint outright, with DOJ chief of staff Chad Mizelle calling it the third attempt by “out-of-state lawyers to weaponize the bar complaint process.”

Since being confirmed, she’s spent more time on Fox News than in the DOJ building and has made headlines for targeting Trump’s perceived enemies—from Democratic officials and protestors to entire universities. ProPublica reported that Bondi dumped somewhere between $1 million and $5 million worth of Trump Media shares on April 2—the same day that Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff stunt sent the markets into chaos.  Bondi’s defenders say she’s simply doing her job. But that job now includes slashing anti-corruption efforts, supercharging immigration crackdowns, and turning the civil rights division into a front in the GOP’s culture war. The DOJ, once known for expertise and independence, is now nothing more than a platform for Trump’s personal agenda. And it’s not just that Bondi broke her promise to keep politics out of the DOJ—it’s that she might be reshaping it in Trump’s image. During her January confirmation hearing, she told senators that “the partisanship, the weaponization, will be gone.”  “America will have one tier of justice for all,” she claimed. Since then, though, it seems like there’s one tier for Trump and another for everyone else.
