Head empty, only thinking about Ultra Protective Big Brother Mario at all times and how ever since he was a literal baby who just learned to walk, his first, strongest instinct, as unthinking and instantaneous as a reflex, as breathing, has been to position himself in between Luigi and the slightest hint of danger with absolutely ZERO hesitation

Luigi Saving Spike Super Star Mode

Really loved despite how much of a jerk Spike was to both him and Mario, Luigi shows that he’s the better man but still takes the time to save him, cuz he’s just that kind of guy.

Okay, but can we talk about how (amazingly) protective Mario is over Luigi? ❤️💚

He stands in front of his brother when confronting someone threatening.

Catches the napkin that was targeted at Luigi and throws it back at the person. He even went as far as to say, "Say that again about my brother, and you're gonna regret it." After said person insults Luigi. Despite them being taller and stronger than him, and would probably beat him to a pulp.

Shields Luigi from the potential perpetrator, not backing down or getting behind him.

He stays in front of Luigi, shielding him from an aggressive dog. He even redirects the dog's attention to himself even though the dog would most likely badly injure him.

He stays close to Luigi, but a safe enough distance to kick whoever's sorry ass that decided to pick on him. Despite being relatively small.

I will never NOT stop talking about this.

Movie!AU where the Mario characters are actually just acting and the scene where Peach rejects Bowser has like 20 takes because every time Peach says she’ll never marry him, Bowser for real looks ready to cry and can’t muster up the anger (bc IRL he and Peach are actually married) and while Peach is cooing and consoling him, Toad!Director is just like “Mr. Bowser, sir, this film is for families, you’re gonna depress a whole generation of 5-year-olds. Please get it together.”

Luigi Saves Mario

Words once again fail at how much I love these brothers. I love how Mario throughout the whole movie is just protecting and wanting to always be there for Luigi. While Luigi is wanting to be there/support him.

But this? This moment not only shows Mario (thou already knew it deep within his heart regardless of course he knew) that his little brother is capable of also returning the favor of helping him, but also proves it to Luigi himself. He can be brave, he can jump into action and he can protect his big brother no matter what the cost.
