Hey guys, sorry for the long hiatus again! I've been busy lately, and I was finally able to get this artwork up on the blog! There's going to be a lot of changes with everything here, and "Cryptic" itself is going to be much more of a horror oriented story. Because my computer is broken and I have yet to find an alternative way to use my drawing tablet, I will begin posting lore on various cryptids and supernatural entities (and possibly SCPs if I decide to delve into it), as well as posting drabbles and short stories to make up for the lack of content on this blog.

(Side note: Be prepared for a some pencil drawings since I can't use my tablet at the moment)

I know I’m probably late, but I decided to jump on the ‘sona trend that @pastelpaperplanes started and make a self insert! 

Here’s their bio:

Name: Sunny (Also responds to “Suns”, “Static” and “TV-headed-little-bitch”)

Age: Young adult

Height: 13.5 ft. (not counting the antennae)

Gender: Nonbinary

Preferred Pronouns: They/them, doesn’t care if you refer to them with masculine or feminine pronouns.

Sexuality: Pansexual

Alt-mode: Unknown, they either don’t use it much or they refuse to even scan for one.

Items:

A “helmet” they made out of an old-school TV

A cape they made from a stage curtain

A long metal pole they use to beat the shit out of people.

Abilities:

Stretching their limbs at great lengths

Recording sounds/events and replaying them on their helmet’s screen

Tuning into any broadcasted frequencies and displaying them on their helmet’s screen

Folding themself into their “helmet” like a tortoise shell

Faction: Neutral, they try to avoid the war as much as possible, but they’re more than willing to help bots from either side if they can.

Moral Alignment: Chaotic Good

Personality: Passionate, introverted, and a hopeless romantic, Sunny has a tendency to become completely absorbed within the fictional worlds they’ve taken interest in. If it isn’t a fandom they’ve sold their soul to, it’s a story of their own making. The only things hindering their creativity are their anxiety and their difficulty focusing when they’re trying to actually write or draw.

Origin: Initially a pile of junk in a scrapyard consisting of several tubes, scrapmetal, the discarded remains of what was supposed to be prototype for a theme park animatronic, Sunny accidentally was brought to life through the power of the allspark, and they’ve been wandering the Earth ever since.

Fun Facts:

Although they’re usually quiet, they have a hard time controlling the volume of their voice, which causes them to yell without realizing it.

Because they haven’t joined either faction, they’ve never been able to drink energon in a liquid form, so they drink motor oil and eat raw energon crystals instead. They’ve also been known to eat human food, but they only do that for fun.

Most people assume that their “helmet” is their actual head, and are baffled to discover it’s not.

They want to have a sword, but can’t figure out how to make one or where to get one (that ISN’T human sized), so they opted for the pole instead. 

Aside from being able to publish their works, their ultimate goal in life is to somehow woo a mech or femme much, much bigger than them.

Should I re-name the MC of Cryptic?

Hey guys! I know I don't post for Cryptic a lot and all, and I don't really have much content on this blog and all, but there's a big change I wanna make for the main character. For those who've been following this story, you all know that the main character is "Sunny", our sweet little techno organic color changing alien. Here's where the problem lies: The name, "Sunny".

When I first created Cryptic, it was meant to be nothing more than a silly gag comic with my then self insert and some characters based off of my friends. But once I got started, I ended up planning out a huge, complex world and developing the characters to the point where "Sunny" became their own character rather than simply my self insert. And that's where things became complicated.

If you follow my main blog, @sunnythebot, you'll know that most people on here know me as Sunny. It's not my name in real life, but it's the identity I've come to embrace as my own on this. And that's been making me uncomfortable with the fact that Cryptic's MC, who is no longer my self insert, has my identity attached to them.

This decision would be a lot easier for me to make if not for a friend of mine, who loves hearing about the developments I've been making regarding character design and mapping out character archs. I told her about my plans to change the MC's name, and she was extremely disappointed because she had grown attached to the name "Sunny" for the character. When I told her my dilemma regarding sharing a name with my own character when said character is not a self insert, she asked my why I couldn't just change my own name and keep it for the character.

The thing is, I don't WANT to change my own name. I've grown attached to what people online know me as, and I just can't imagine being called anything other than "Sunny" on here. But I also don't want to disappoint those of you who have grown attached to the MC'S name being "Sunny".

So what do you guys think? Should I change the MC'S name, should I change my own name, or should I keep both of the same?

Last Movie: Thor Ragnarok! It’s so funny I love Taika and his directing. It’s definitely one of my favorite MCU movies. I also forget every time I watch it I get feelings for ThorBruce so-

Currently Watching: WandaVision and Critical Role. Wanda is my favorite woman in the MCU and I am so scared for what’s going on but no spoilers! As for Critical Role, I never really knew what DnD was and only learned of Critical Role within the past few years. Started listening to it like a podcast when playing some games or drawing and I really enjoy it! I’m only on like ep 24 in the first campaign though I have a lot to catch up on.

Currently Reading: The Witcher series! I’m on book 2, The Time of Contempt. Unfortunately I don’t get much time to read during the semester so I will probably still be reading it come May.

Currently Craving: Nachos and salad. I know such a strange conversation but one of the dining halls was closed because it was very hands-on passing things back and forth and not very sanitary for the current climate. They had really good nachos and really big salads and it just makes what is still open disappointing because it isn’t what I want.
