Can't really pretend this wasn't changed to eliminate a bit of fanservice. Does kind of make Shinobu's line a little less funny. Though, it was an oddly meta-line in the first place. Apparently the original anime had Lum's guards follow them back in time so they were watching, though I enjoyed the meta-aspect of the line in the manga. Anyway, I always wondered if this was inspired by Blues Brothers (the movie came out in 1980, so the timeline works), but the guards have been sunglasses and suits for a while in the series so it might just be a coincidence.

I loved this sequence. The scene with the sunglasses squad playing cards and cleaning their shotguns was from the previous page, but this extended building bursting was great and remarkably smoothly animated. I can only assume the bodyguard on the can is reading Shonen Sunday, but I can't tell. Sorry for the screenshot quality, hard to get one of a scene in motion like this.
