Bassendean Council Bid Farewell to Retiring Councillors
At the Town of Bassendean Council meeting on 28 September 20201 a number of important issues were discussed. It was the last formal meeting of Council for three retiring Councillors: Cr Sarah Quinton (4-year term), Cr Chris Barty (2-year term), and Cr Jai Wilson (4-year term). The Acting Presiding Member, Cr Hamilton, presented a gift to the Councillors and thanked them for their service.
At the same meeting, the Council voted in favour to make a formal request to the Minister for Planning to rename Reid Street, east of West Road, to Bassendean Parade.
A vote was also put toward the council to consider a minor variation to the licence agreement for Movies by Burswood Inc. for the Telethon Community Cinemas held at BIC Reserve, Bassendean. The council approved the Town of Bassendean to enter into a new licence agreement for Movies by Burswood Bassendean for a two-year period, commencing on 1 November 2021 and expiring on 30 April 2023 with an option for a further 12 months.
