EPISODE 2 , may 2015
when it's time to go, signaled by his phone constantly buzzing in his sailor jacket pocket, he taps his light out and holds her to the promise of watching his comeback. and later, it doesn't feel so lonely on stage even after several retakes in front of a silent, empty room. the weight is still there, but he blazes through it, not just for jowi but for atlas. for their future, for one more crack at it that feels like it could be the last. he tries not to think about that on their way home later in the odd hours of the night, exhausted and sore, instead hovering over the prism jowi contact on his phone. on one hand he thinks it's too forward, too fast. on the other, yohan really does not care. he opts for the other and so begins his poorly kept secret.
with both their schedules, they’re relegated to mostly texting in the bits of downtime they have and the occasional meetup back in that hidden corner. maybe that’s part of what makes it so exciting, at first. the secrecy, the growing electric charge in the air in those rare moments they do get to meet for twenty minutes at most, the way he has to force his eyes not to glance over at her during the winner announcement at the end of every painfully long music show, and the way he fails. and that’s fine for a while. but as atlas starts winning, starts picking up real traction like they’ve never seen before, as it starts to look like it’s not their last shot anymore, yohan gets greedy. for atlas, yes, but for himself too. it’s after a celebratory company dinner sending out their last stage for this round of promotions that he texts her:
[ TO: 달의 여정 | 12:43 AM ]
jowi
hey
congratulate me
ㅋㅋ
[ attachment: image0.png, a dark blurry photo of the han river ]
bring drinks, i m out
[ attachment: image1.png, another dark blurry photo but of himself, holding an empty bottle of soju and pouting ]
i saved you a seat
[ attachment: image2.png, yet another dark blurry photo with flash on of the empty space on the bench he’s sitting on ]
he hums, drunkenly pleased with himself as he stuffs his phone back into his ripped skinny jeans’ pockets, jamming his hands into the front pocket of his black hoodie soon after, waiting. later, he’ll think about how dumb he must be on several levels to pull this stunt. but for now, in his red cheeked, humming, drunken glory all he can think about is ice cream cake and bleach blonde hair and the warmth of her presence.
jowi has always known on a logical level that she was missing out on a lot of life. picked up for training young and invested in the lifestyle from the jump, she’s been neck deep in the restrictions of the industry since she was thirteen, thanks to the restrictive nature of a big company and the rigorous pressure put on it’s trainees, if they want to succeed. from that first audition on, the scope of her life had slowly narrowed down until it was laser focused on the singular path to her future that prism represented. all that light compressed and reflected in the lense of that prism until they could force her into the rainbow image they wanted.
she hadn’t minded that.
it had all seemed a relatively acceptable trade. who cared that much about high school anyway? she’d gotten to (nominally) attend a school full of other trainees and other industry insiders, actresses and actors and idols themselves, when they bothered showing up. no one cared if she cut for extra dance class, math classes were a joke, the curriculum held her hand - or would have, if she’d really needed it, but jowi had always done well at doing enough to get by with a few compliments thrown in. she’d put all her heart into her training, and it had paid off. so she didn’t have memories of school trips, so she didn’t have leisurely summer days by the beach, so she didn’t go to university and so she didn’t have a campus romance. her first love had been a boy at a dance hagwon who’d left to dance on a tour, she’d had a crush on her vocal trainer instead of a hot ta, whatever. it was all the same, right?
suddenly, it doesn’t really seem that much the same. when was the last time she’d felt butterflies? the last time she’d snuck out of somewhere just to see a boy, the last time she’d been waiting for her phone to buzz in her pocket. such trivial and frivolous things somehow take up the greater part of her buzzing subconscious, prompting a restlessness, the entitled nature of a barely-not-teen bubbling over. she deserves this. that’s how she rationalizes it to herself. it’s inhumane, to expect them not to want. to expect them not to date, expect them not to like someone. it’s stupid, to think it won’t happen. the idol world is ten years behind reality, at least, and she’s not here for it. besides, it won’t be her that gets caught. it won’t be them. no one cares enough, about two groups barely getting off the ground. who’d even click in for the article?
that’s the excuse she gives herself when she grabs soju at the corner mart, when she texts him back, when she walks the fifteen minutes to the river bundled in a hoodie and a hat and a mask at night, all much less necessary than they might feel, paranoia creeping down her spine. it takes longer than she wants to admit to find him, long enough that she’s half through the bottle in her hand and she’s starting to wonder if it’s all a bad idea- and maybe that was why she was so deep in the green glass anyway, take a shot every time you wonder if you’re going to ruin your future for a man you’ve known for a cumulative six hours of in person time.
but then she sees him under the faint glow of spaced out street lights, refracting off the fading dye of his hair, glinting over the bottle in his hand, and she knows it’s too late to pretend she’s not doing this. it’s too late to think about the five thousand reasons why she shouldn’t, when she’s already in the process of sealing her fate. because this, there isn’t a step back from it. once he sees her, once she’s shown up for a past midnight secret date, there’s no putting things back into the tidy little “secret flirtation” box where he can’t hurt her, really.
and it’s worth it, for the gummy smile he flashes when he sees her, the way it spreads over his features before he can reign it in, narrow it back into a familiar smirk. she’s happy enough to lope over to him, descending in a graceful heap beside him, making an excuse of the narrow bench to deposit herself all but half on top of him, nudging at him with her shoulder until he gets the hint and wraps a wiry arm around her. “can’t believe you started celebrating without me, syaoran.” she drawls, raising her bottle towards the other, “did you pregame with the boys?” she makes note of the flush over his cheeks, more than the brief time frame should have afforded him. she can imagine it, the desperate cluster of them sobbing in a grilled meat restaurant over too many shots of soju. it seems like what they’d do. wry drawl aside, she tangles her fingers into the dangling strings of his hoodie and tugs, until he looks at her and she can press her lips to his earnest, a little too much so maybe, knocking their foreheads together to laugh, “congratulations,” against his lips.

DuckTales 2017 – “Friendship Hates Magic!”
Story by: Francisco Angones, Madison Bateman, Colleen Evanson, Christian Magalhaes, Bob Snow, Rachel Vine
Written by: Rachel Vine
Storyboard by: Stephanie Gonzaga, Victoria Harris, Vaughn Tada, Brandon Warren
Directed by: Matthew Humphreys
No ponies here, headless or otherwise.
While we've seen a conclusion of at least one part of the Della plot, one other little thing from the season finale hasn't really been elaborated on outside of the occasional mention of Magica De Spell. Specifically: while we know whatever happened to Della Duck, and have a clue on whatever happened to Donald Duck, we never really found out whatever happened to Lena since she became Webby's shadow. Needless to say, it's a long story.
This is the episode where that plot continues. I will say this: Lena plots don't have good track records with me. I liked Jaw$, and The Shadow War was great, too, which was pretty much a foregone conclusion since it was the season finale. However, there's also Terror of the Terra-Firmians and The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck, two episodes I almost gave a Disgusted Donald to. Granted, neither are because of Lena in particular, but still. Which column will this episode fall in? We're about to find out.
Our episode begins with Webby going to the library, because she loves the smell of thinking in the morning. Gotta get that reference out of the way. Oh, and Lena is here now, as an invisible, unhearable shadow being. While nobody else can see or hear her, the audience sees her as this black and green version of herself. Lena says that she's fine with her current situation, though it's quite clear from the tone of her voice that it's more in comparison to any alternative.
Webby doesn't want to do that even if she could hear Lena, so she's continuing her impossible mission to find a book at the library that can teach her about the shadow realm. Yami Yugi is nowhere to be seen, but we do get Mrs. Quackfaster. I guess Scrooge isn't paying her enough so she has to double as the amount of libraries she works at to get that sweet retirement at Birdaydos. Er, Bird-baaaaaay-dos. She tells her that she can't offer the particular book she's looking for.
It's because this new character already checked it out. Webby is shocked, because this book is only in Ancient Syriac, but this "odd girl" happens to know a lot of ancient languages. She introduces herself as Violet Sabrewing, and, after bonding over knowing conversational Akkadian, she offers to stay at her place, possibly overnight. In other words, and eventually Webby's: a sleepover.
Webby, of course, accepts, but Lena does not. It's almost as if she's read Disney Now's description of this episode, which refers to her as this "suspicious new friend". Then again, it may be because of the way Webby's last sleepovers ended. She wouldn't be the only one to remind her of this.
As Mrs. Beakley gives us the excuse for why we're not going to see Scrooge or the boys in this episode, they're busy in the office for Bin-ventory Day, Webby barges in and tells her grandmother she's having a friend come over for a sleepover. Mrs. Beakley is proud that her granddaughter wants to do another sleepover after the last two ended with money sharks and unicorn fights in the other bin. Gotta love those casual previous episode references that could still work as fantastic off-screen adventures to those who don't know.
Lena is excited that Mrs. Beakley could talk her out of this, and tries to jinx Webby again by saying "cancel the sleepover." Needless to say, that jinx doesn't work out like the library one, as Webby has a different idea.
Instead, Webby decides to have the most normal sleepover ever, as she tries to hide everything that is supernatural in the house, and try to just be normal. Mrs. Beakley attempts to say that the best way to make a good impression on her new friend is to be herself
Mrs. Beakley: ...barring from that summer undercover in Paraguay.
Webby brushing aside what is most likely the origin story for one of her parents, hey, we were all thinking it, she tells her Granny that she's not like her, because she needs friends. After Webby walks away, she tells her to name one person she doesn't get along with.
Enter Launchpad McQuack, inept pilot and ruiner of any plan to make this the first DuckTales episode with only female characters. To disprove Webby's accusation, she decides to invite him for a "sup", and spends a little more time than she wants explaining what she meant. Lena episodes sure seem to love the B-plots that, for the most part, never really seem to converge with the A-plot. This will be another one that fits with the "for the most part".
Going back to the other planned meeting, Webby is all done storing magic rocks in the attic, and her new friend has arrived for the normal slumber party for normal people. She tells Duckworth to get the door, and then realizes that ghost butlers don't help out at slumber parties. Surprisingly, that's not one of the Bailey School Kids books.
After slicing Duckworth's ghostly form in half, him not appreciating it in the slightest, she opens the door to Violet and her totally normal pie. As Webby shows her awkwardness with this whole situation, Lena is not amused, saying she isn't buying it. See, I didn't pull that out of nowhere, Lena hates this girl. I mean, maybe it's a bit convenient that this girl happens to have the same shadow realm-related interests as Webby.
Violet is then brought to Webby's room, and Violet looks around to see all the places that clearly used to have mysterious objects in them. She just says it looks clean, but I can imagine she did not miss that.
Meanwhile, Launchpad tries, and struggles, to drink pea soup from a straw. Mrs. Beakley tries her best to deal with this.
One section she was focused on was this section about Tulpas, an actual concept in the world of mysticism. This whole concept sort of reminded her of that one time all the shadows came alive and...
Webby: Who wants Baggle?!
Violet actually does want Baggle, but wants this obvious distraction some other time. Webby responds that it's just her way to get to know each other a bit more, and suggests asking some ice-breakers. Violet's first icebreaker:
Violet: What do you know about Magica De Spell and the Shadow War?
Lena, feeling completely vindicated, tries to tell Webby that she said the "M" word! I wouldn't say she forgot that nobody can hear her; she's like those people who yell at the characters while watching TV. Heh, nerds. Webby has a different "M" word in mind: makeovers! Violet is clearly not buying this at all, but goes along with the makeovers anyway.
Violet ends up leaving her backpack behind, fully opened, and Lena notices something that definitely shouldn't be in there if she was an ordinary girl who just happened to really like shadow people: Magica's amulet! She runs off to try to warn Webby, and...okay, maybe she still thinks she can hear her, even though she never once acknowledged her existence. She does end up at least finding Webby, except she's now a zombie, complete with one of her eyes falling out.
That fake-out turns out to be Violet and Webby's idea for a make-up session. Webby praises her best friend's make-up, saying that she looks just like the demon named Rakshasa. She's definitely a great friend, I don't know a lot of people who would take kindly to being told "you look like a demon!" Webby should know what Rakshasa looks like, because she met him in a previous adventure, and she has proof...that is definitely not in the attic. Oops.
Webby relents and lets her into the attic, as this cover was completely blown. She was obviously interested in these things, so she doesn't mind that Webby happened to have some magic rocks. They never really explain what those magic rocks are, and I'd like to think I am a little beyond the obvious joke there. She also notices some ectoplasmic energies from that friendship bracelet.
The scene switches from their point of view to Lena's in a neat way, where Lena still thinks she can alter anything here. Sadly for her, Lena is also intangible. Thankfully for her, Webby distracts her from that bracelet, and offers that game of Baggle again. Violet agrees on one condition: they need to use Demogorgan runes. I don't want to reveal that I'm just looking up every one of these words on Wikipedia, so I'll be quiet.
Meanwhile, Launchpad tries, and struggles, to color a coloring book, and then eventually tries to get Mrs. Beakley to get into Darkwing Duck. Mrs. Beakley tries her best to deal with this.
...okay, maybe I shouldn't just brush this off for this running gag, since this scene has quite a bit of lore to get into Jim Starling's eventual big role in The Duck Knight Returns...but maybe I'll wait for that one.
Back to this game of runes, it just so happens that book has the right chant to make those dice-like runes glow green. Lena tries what might be her 50th attempt to actually affect anything as a intangible shadow person. She's shocked to find that it actually worked this time!
She then tries to rearrange the runes to spell out a message. Unfortunately, since these people are nerds, they think it's the writing on the runes that have any meaning, and not how this layout is shaped like the words "don't trust her." Not getting anywhere with these mysterious messages about rat messages, Violet tries another shadow spirit summoning trick: humming this melody. It works...but only Lena can see these white spirits ominously creeping out from the dark. She has to think of something.
She tries to manipulate a white sheet in a form of a ghost. This actually works, because of ghost cliches that even Lena is aware of, but it doesn't solve the "they can't hear me" problem. Violet decides to use a weapon against the one evil spirit they can see, and it turns out this weapon happens to be Magica's amulet. One side effect is that this amulet allowed her to actually see and hear Lena for a second, which is enough to clue Webby in on what is really happening. However, that is only the second most of her worries.
The main side effect is that it finally gets Webby to realize that maybe this girl may not be what she seems. Just like Lena wanted her to, she starts to question their future friendship, and asks everything she knows.
It’s here that we finally get her backstory, or at least her claimed backstory. She was just an ordinary Muggle, having no interest in magic or anything else of the sort. Then, everything changed when the Shadow War happened, and. Oh, and she just stumbled across Magica's cane, which turned back into the amulet. That's pretty much it. We don't know if she's completely telling the truth...
...but Webby buys it completely, to the disappointment of Lena, and they start to do a seance. You see these shadow beings that look like the shadow of Magica De Spell. This, of course, gets Lena to attempt to grab them again.
I hate to spoil this, but I will say that this seance does lead to Lena being able to drag Webby and Violet into the shadow realm. No, not that one, thankfully. We get a big reunion, but this hug doesn't get to last long, as Webby and Violet finally get to see those white shadow ghosts.
That was spoiler enough, so I'll run through this: a big chase scene happens here, and it all leads to a good conclusion to this episode. Even the "tulpas" from the earlier scene comes up, as that turns out to be a little bit closer than one might guess from the opening of the scene. Here's a hint: they don't just stay in this Magica-like form.
In a sort of fake-out transition from that mayhem, we see what is the conclusion to the Launchpad trying to get Mrs. Beakley into Darkwing Duck plot. Turns out, they both got really excited over a cliffhanger ending. Unfortunately, in this universe, that was how Darkwing Duck ended, with a Woody's Roundup-esque cliffhanger. I usually don't talk about future episodes, but this will be given more detail in The Duck Knight Returns.
What were those shadow beings? Will Lena ever learn to trust Webby's new friend? Should Lena ever learn to trust Webby's new friend? Most importantly, while we got the reunion, will it last? At least some of those questions will be answered by watching the episode. It was a treat to see one of those answers in the end, something I thought I wouldn't see until the end of this season.
How does it stack up?
This episode didn't give me anything to dislike, and a lot to like. The biggest challenge this episode had was introducing this new character. I'll say this, without spoiling anything: while she doesn't have any Earth-shattering twists like Lena did, yet, she has potential.
I kind of skipped over the Launchpad bits, I can admit they're all pretty funny. Obviously, it wasn't going to be something as big as the A-plot, but just something minor and maybe even a little bit cute.
In the end, it's definitely in the Jaw$ column.
Next, I actually find a way to talk about The Powerpuff Girls...and not those ones!

"Here." The jacket is offered without another word, oversized and warm, and Zoro tilts his chin towards the torn line of her dress. Air cooler than summer with a nip of a northern winds, it was only reasonable for such a gesture to take place tonight after another job. "Surprised you move that fast in a tight thing like that anyway." Hands tucked into the pocket of his pants, Zoro looks ahead, considering a drink whenever they got back to the hotel.
He had obliterated those men, without regret, and almost without effort. A lust driven frenzy, a carnage worth of her own master. Monet had been told in the past how she was indeed a cruel, cold-blooded killer, but he was brutal. Vicious, ravenous. Feral. And yet, as they were leaving he offered her a jacket. So antithetical that she found herself taking it even though she did not need it, accustomed to the cold as she was.** “…..I’d say it is an acquired skill.”** She comments, eyes briefly examining the damage. Ripped at the seams, it wasn’t unheard of, and while fixable, it would be easier to discard it and get another one. Monet did not have the time to be sewing anything other than wounds if push came to shove. They walked in silence for a little bit, until they got to a zebra crossing, the light red, and ironically enough they both stopped, even if there barely was any cars on the road. _L’heure bleue_ of the evening twilight was beginning, as the last dying rays sunk behind the silhouette of the buildings. She glanced his way then, as they waited for the light to go green, and she noticed the speckle of blood on his cheek. Her hand reached for it almost instinctively. She could rationalize this, knowing that blood stains would raise too many questions, even in the kind of hotel they were staying, but as her thumb brushed the crimson away, Monet wondered if that was the sole reason why. Repaying kindness with kindness. The light went green, and her hand withdrew immediately, and she carried on walking, down the steps and towards the metro, the tiled graffiti’d walls, and the acoustic strumming of a busker hit them before the electric lighting did. “…I feel like we deserve a drink, for a job well done.” she says as they wait for the metro, gaze lost in the dark tracks. The song she could hear was vaguely familiar, and as the train approached she remembered where from. _Everlong_. The train stopped with a whirring sound, the gates opened with a whisper.![image](https://66.media.tumblr.com/1284526527b3e092e933c650118b1076/14a2a3eaa398616d-25/s100x200/b4bfffe962e48ac6f91f60da0fd65ba8011277d2.png) **“don’t you think?”**

Comic Girls - Episode 05
It’s kind of rude to just claim the one working bathroom for two hours for a shower without checking with anyone first, right? That’s not just me? I’m not going crazy here?
Anyways anime. Comic Girls, episode 05! Here we GO!
-We begin with a gorgeous ocean, and clear blue skies…Is it a beach episode? It’s the girls on a boat! Koyume has dragged them all here for summer fun! This may be difficult, considering the others are what you might call indoorsy.
-Opening!
-To the beach proper! Koyume is super enthusiastic about her bikini! Look, look, everyone! Oh they’re looking. They can’t stop looking. I think you broke Kaos.
-…Koyume please stop turning the entire beach gay. You’re causing a ruckus.
-Also the other three didn’t bring swimsuits because…Well…Like I said, they’re indoorsy types. Do you know what Kaos’s typical summer memory is? Closing the blinds tighter so the room stays darker and cooler, aiming a fan directly at her face, and drawing all day. Fine, they’ll go rent swimsuits!
-As ever, Kaos ends up looking small and innocent and adorable. While Tsubasa boldly goes for a tiny bikini with zero shame and shows off her muscles! Such bold muscles! Okay, so what’s Ruki going to wear? Ruki doesn’t want to. They already picked out your swimsuit, go go go. …I think she pulled a runner. Actually she just couldn’t dare come out, even though Kaos likes what she sees.
-Okay, out to the beach!
-Why are all three of you just sitting there.
-Well, in order: Tsubasa thinks those cliffs would make for a great background for an epic battle. Ruki is seeing all these swimsuited couples and getting ideas for a beach chapter. And Kaos just doesn’t want to go anywhere near that much water. I told you, they’re indoorsy types. So Koyume finally abandons them…
-And makes new beach friends out by the water! It’s her intense power. As opposed to Kaos’s ability to be a small Disney princess. She’s summoned a small crab army. Crabs, attack the interlopers stealing their Koyume away! …No? Kaos you need to learn to use your power for evil.
-But soon enough they’ve got Kaos out in the water with an inner tube, and…Kaos that’s not love you’re feeling, that’s a jellyfish stinging your foot. The sea has claimed her for its own! And finally they even get Tsubasa and Ruki to ditch the sketchbooks and come have fun in the water. Fun like playing with a beach ball…Which leads to Ruki despairing over her lack of, shall we say, bounce. And when the others try to comfort her, now she’s just surrounded by bounce. Yes. Bounce.
-Also Kaos is getting thirsty. Thirsty enough that she eats a beach ball to the face. But yes, they get up to all kinds of fun! Playing in the water, playing in the sand, playing with water guns, eating frozen treats…Until finally, the sun is low in the sky, and it’s a wonderful, gorgeous view. The clear warm sky, the glow on the water, the sound of Ruki’s sketchbook being carried away by the tide…Wait what was that last part???
-Finally it’s back to the dorm, where as soon as Tsubasa and Kaos get back…It’s a dark room and some vintage gaming action, as the others are out shopping. Tsubasa gave no fucks, and Kaos was just plain scared of going to fancy fashionable places. Speaking of, cut over to Ruki and Koyume, who are trying stuff on, and Ruki doesn’t much like wearing sailor outfits herself…But she certainly enjoys watching another girl strip out of one. God dammit Ruki, stop saying the quiet part loud. Even the employee heard it.
-But okay, fancy clothes bought, and Ruki’s super enjoying having someone to hang out with that actually has fucks to give. They should go get some fancy pasta! Cut back to Kaos and Tsubasa, who are eating instant ramen in the dark bedroom. The contrast is…shall we say…profound. Then it’s back to Ruki and Koyume, who have their fancy pasta…As a couple enjoys a fancy drink together with two straws. …I think that’s the first time we’ve actually seen a guy the entire show so far, outside of manga sketches.
-And it has Koyume realizing her difficulties of getting anywhere in her shoujo manga dreams without enough experience…Ruki tries to perk her up by talking about her own success, but, well, that also means admitting she has never laid with anyone. Or even gone out with anyone. DESPAIR. And at the same time, she’s so thinly stretched that trying to have a relationship between school, manga work, and basic human existence…There’s no more room left.
-But you, Koyume, you might just be able to pull it off! Is there anyone you like?
-BIG SPLASH IMAGE OF TSUBASA IN CASE YOU DIDN’T GET IT YET
-S-She, um, that’s, she doesn’t know any…You know Tsubasa pretty well by now, Ruki thought. And then all of Koyume’s passions just start spilling out. Just go on a damn date with her you dork. …So Koyume’s panicking now.
-Episode 05: Amisawa-san, Do You Cosplay?
-And we’re back! They’re waiting for the train, and Koyume’s trying to be all “but I can’t love girls, I’m a girl!” Koyume, again, let me introduce you to the hot new trend of yuri. It’s like all the shoujo manga you admire, and the erotic manga Ruki writes, but instead of the guy, it’s another girl. Also, Tsubasa’s been getting asked out by girls ever since middle school. She’s about as dense about it as a neutron star, but…
-Also Koyume’s idea of a date with Tsubasa is being lost in a terrifying cave when the noble hero in her cosplay cape shows up to save her. I mean everyone’s into something…
-Back at the dorm, Tsubasa and Kaos are still playing fighting games. Tsubasa is letting out her chuuni side…When Tsubasa is attacked by Nyaos long enough to lose the round! And that turns into an argument which turns into wrassling which turns into OH GOD THE DOOR’S BEEN OPENED IT’S TOO BRIGHT yeah so the others are back.
-And now Ruki has to shove Koyume in there. Go on, do it. But Koyume panics. Again. …Cue the landlady, with two tickets to the amusement park that expire, tomorrow! Whatever will she do? Oh, if onl—KOYUME WILL TAKE THEM wait what does she do now? …You really have no self control, do you, Koyume.
-To the park! After Ruki’s slick way of backing out of the offer, and Kaos’s…Well…She tried. Give her a pat on the head for effort, the little moeblob. Anyways the point is Koyume and Tsubasa are here on a d-d-d-d-d-dato, and Koyume doesn’t know what to dooooo. Oh god this poor girl. …Also NATURALLY Ruki and Kaos are secretly here to observe and possibly coach if need be. They will get these two together if it kills them! (Also good lord how much did the landlady spend on getting everyone into this damn amusement park just for some young love to bloom?)
-Soon, Tsubasa is treating Koyume to ice cream. And a cute ear headband. And a stuffed animal. And snacks. Name whatever you want, and she’ll make it happen! Um, er, how about just a nice picture of that mascot character? TSUBASA WILL TAKE HIM DOWN WITH ALL OF HER MANLY MIGHT
-Tsubasa
-Tsubasa that’s not how it works
-That’s not how anything works
-Tsubasa no
-Tsubasa yes. That poor mascot worker clearly got punched at least once.
-But what now? Now, Koyume’s able to relax a little and take the lead as she loves this place…But where will they go? The haunted house? A thrill ride? Or…That’s a terrifying rollercoaster. Tsubasa quietly clings to Koyume’s sleeve. I know the fear of loop-de-loops, Tsu—

-SHE WAS HERE THE WHOLE TIME
-HERE TO OBSERVE THE DATE
-Anyways Tsubasa has a panic, Ruki finds she loves rollercoasters when they go on after the pair to observe, and Kaos just breaks. I’m afraid we need to replace her with a new one. Oh hey, there’s a cosplay area! Complete with someone dressed up like Tsubasa’s protagonist! Really well, too. They should totally get a picture! And the dark hero…Panics and flees?
-…Wait. Hold on a tic. I need to roll back. Timestamp 17:22, aaaand comedic reversal of the video footage go go go Okay, back to timestamp 12:45. The flashback to when Tsubasa was asked out back then! Hrm, short bob hair, more black than brown…Okay, got what I needed. Forward MARCH!
-Back to the present where the dark hero takes off her wig and it’s…Bright brown hair tied back. Okay, so it’s not the girl from the confession, which was my first thought. That whole bit I just did was pointless. Pointlessssssss.
-Especially when the landlady comes up and recognizes Miharu and Mayu…And oh. Oh. It’s two of the girls’ editors, isn’t it. Yep Mayu there, in the fancy dress, is also known as Amisawa-san, Kaos’s editor. And she just fuckin’ OWNS IT when she has nowhere else to go. I suppose that’s all you can do.
-Back to Tsubasa and Koyume. When Mayu has been shanghai’d into the observation effort…As Tsubasa and Koyume end up having a real talk, and Tsubasa totally expected Koyume would have a boyfriend. Look how cute you are, anyone would totally want you! She could find someone for you right now! But Koyume…There’s only one person Koyume wants…Come on, Tsubasa. Get it. Get what’s going on. Understand what this dear bishoujo in front of you wants you stupid idiot!
-Nope, it’s their turn on the ferris wheel and they both just fall back into easy patterns. YOU STUPID IDIOTS. Of course, now they’re up in the middle of the air on their own in a tiny carriage, the entire world shrinking to just them…Koyume, you love her just accept it already you stupid dork. But, when the conversation turns to manga, all of the doubts that Koyume pushes down with her sparkly genki attitude just come spilling out. The fear that she’ll never make it, that all of her effort is for naught, that she’s doomed to failure…
-And then Tsubasa reaches out, takes her hand, and just keep moving forward. You already have so much fun drawing, and that’s all that really matters. Just keep moving forward. She’ll be waiting for you on the other side, however long it takes…
-So by the time they come back down they’re talking about how unlike herself Koyume was and the others hear it and DID YOU FINALLY CONFESS?! Wait have you four been there the entire ti—LANDLADY DEMANDS YOUTHFUL LESBIAN ROMANCE Also by the time they all leave, Kaos is feeling all unsure again and finally Mayu has to haul her up and learn from your friends how to be confident in yourself you stupid moeblob. abababababa
-Credits!
-Aftercredits? Wait…That’s a terrifying ghost at the haunted house. Like a Ringu girl. And she’s…Crying?
Dammit Koyume, you were so close. Well, maybe next time. Unless we end up learning more about the lives of the adults around these four stupid idiots. That’s possible too. Or…What the hell was with that after-credits scene…? …We’ll figure it out next time, in episode SIX of Comic Girls! Wait for it!

Beautiful Tomorrow Part 10: Let’s Talk About the Future
Previously: Part 9.
Among the cherry blossoms.
Honoka: Wow, so beautiful…!
Chisa: They really are…It’s an amazing full bloom, isn’t it?
Mei: There’s a bench over there.
Mahoro: So there is. Let’s go sit.
Honoka: Hey! I thought I’d go buy some drinks from a convenience store.
Chisa: How thoughtful of you!
Mahoro: Haah, this sure is calming…
Mei: Oh, you know, yesterday there was a bird hiding from the rain on the veranda.
Honoka: It was raining awful hard after all.
Mei: Now that it’s cleared up, I wonder if it’s back in the sky?
Honoka: I’m sure it’s gone right back to flying up there.
Chisa: Oh, Mahoro, look! There’s a contrail today too.
Mahoro: Hm? Oh, would you look at that.
Mahoro: …You know, Chisa, about before…
Chisa: It’s alright. Don’t worry about it.
Mahoro: Are you sure?
Chisa: With a sky so clear, and such beautiful cherry blossoms blooming…let’s talk about the future instead. With everyone.
Mei: Talking about the future…
BGM: ‘beautiful tomorrow’.
Mei: Is it alright if I call Rie here? I wouldn’t want her to miss this. Satori-san and Rinne-san, too.
Honoka: Go for it! Let’s call everyone here. I wonder what Maika and the other two are up to right now…
Mahoro: There’s gonna be some people that can’t make it, you know.
Chisa: Well, there’s no helping that.
Mahoro: Riko might be working today. If she is, she’ll probably be like…
Mahoro: “How come you all went and had fun while I was stuck at work?” or something like that.
Chisa: I wonder if we can get everyone here…I have a feeling we can.
Honoka: Though if we do get everyone together, it’s gonna get messy.
Chisa: Yeah, and we’ve got some rowdy people too…We’d better brace ourselves.
Mahoro: Well, that’s what happens with an agency as full of unique little weirdos as ours.
Mei: Indeed.
Mahoro: Mei, you know you’re one of the weirdest ones, right?
Mei: I have no idea what you mean.
Honoka: Ahaha! What kind of joke is that, Mei?
Mei: What do you mean, Honoka-san?
Honoka: Oh yeah…With all kinds of people, I’m sure we have all kinds of futures ahead of us, right?
Chisa: Yeah…For sure. We can’t all walk the same path, after all.
Honoka: Right. …But you know what I think?
Mahoro: Hm?
Honoka: Even though we may all go on to see different sceneries in the future…it’s all lit up by the same light.
-season 1.1 beautiful tomorrow-
Fin.
Masaki’s office.
Rio: Ehh? Then, what will happen to the teams they’re currently in?
Masaki: I’m not saying we’re going to do anything drastic.
Masaki: All I’m saying is, while it’s good for the girls to have had each other’s support through those teams, it’ll be time to move on to the next step soon.
Masaki: At any rate, the world of an actor…from the very start, it’s a lonely world.
Rio: When are you thinking, then? Around summer, or something like that?
Masaki: That’s right. For now, we will aim for summer.
Rio: The cherry blossoms have only just bloomed and we’re already talking about summer, huh. We sure are busy.
Masaki: Aha, that we are. However…
Masaki: In our position, we must always be talking about the future.
Rio: This summer’s going to be a harsh one for them, huh?
Masaki: Yes… But, this will also be a challenge for us as AiRBLUE.
Masaki: Those girls have a job they absolutely must do.
Masaki: Along with Manager, please give them all your support. I’m counting on you.
Rio: Heehee. You got it~

Dermatologist's Tips to Get Your Skin Ready For Summer-Part 1
Is your skin ready for summer? The two, biggest concerns people have about exposing their skin in the summer are:
Being sure their skin looks as good as possible so that they are not embarrassed by it; and
Having the right sun protection to prevent UV damage and future wrinkles, uneven pigment, sun spots, and skin cancer.
You’ve got approximately two, square meters of skin. It’s going out in the public on display once weather warms up and you put on shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Bathing suits expose even more of it. It’s time to get ready in advance!
You know that tank tops, shorts, sandals, and sun dresses are in your near future because you’re starting to click on adds for summer’s breezy fashions and bathing suits. There’s no denying it – arms, legs, chest, and back skin will soon be on display. Feet will be, too.
Whip your skin into shape fast with my dermatologist’s skin care tricks. Protect your precious, two square meters of skin with the right skin care. As a dermatologist, I’ve helped my patients do this for years. I do it myself and for my family every year.
Here are my dermatologist’s 4 top tips for summer skin care:
Tip 1: Reveal smooth and hydrated skin that you’re proud of.
Get your skin ready for public viewing with a good exfoliation routine for your arms and legs. Use physical exfoliation and chemical exfoliation for best results:
Body exfoliation: My Ultra-Fast Triple Action Body Smoothing Kit will have your arms and legs looking great. It combines physical exfoliation (the Salux Shower Cloth and the beads in the Triple Action Scrub) with chemical exfoliation (strong glycolic acid lotion and glycolic and salicylic acid in the Triple Action Scrub). This does heavy-lifting exfoliation for the best and fastest results. Polish your skin to a youthful, dewy sheen that you can be proud of. Use the kit on your body skin at least twice a week.
Moisturize daily for dewy, youthful and hydrated skin. Apply a good moisturizer every day within 3 minutes after toweling dry after your bath or shower. You can use the Glycolic Acid daily or you can alternate it with a good moisturizer enriched with botanical oils that replenish lost skin lipids necessary for hydrated skin. My Natural Lotion is an ideal, head-to-toe moisturizer for the entire family – hair skin included! Keep one by every shower so it’s easy to apply within the magic 3 minutes after stepping out of each shower.
If your feet are rough and scaly, get them sandal-ready with my Soft and Smooth Feet Kit. This is professional skin care that fixes rough feet fast. I depend on this for my own feet, which want to have rough calluses on the heels, balls of my feet and sides of my big toes – Noooooo not happening!
Tip 2: Get a healthy warm skin glow that’s better than a tan!
Add a smart, warm glow to your skin that’s safe from skin cancer by using a self tanner. Apply it under your moisturizer or Glycolic Acid Body Lotion to warm your skin tone and hide flaws like varicose veins, etc. You probably already know that self tanners can make skin look dry so daily moisturizing and regular exfoliation are important. My favorite self tanner is the Avene Self Tanner because the color is great and the lotion is lightweight so it’s perfect under my Glycolic Acid Body Lotion. This is what I’ve used for years and I’m always pleased with the results.
An additional bonus tip for a warm skin tone is to eat lots of carrots or drink carrot juice for a warm beta carotene glow to your skin. This glow comes from the inside out. Beta carotene is also an excellent antioxidant to help fight UV- free radical skin damage and general, free radical physiologic stress.
Did you know that the warm glow from beta carotene has been proven more attractive than a sun tan? It’s true.
Dr. Ian Stephen, an experimental psychologist at the University of Bristol in England, performed a study where he showed volunteers a series of photographs of both men and women. Some were sun-tanned and others had loaded their skin with betacarotene by eating a beta carotene-rich prescribed diet. The volunteers consistently rated skin attractiveness higher for the beta carotene glow compared with the tan from the sun. Veggies win over UV rays! Carrots get the beta carotene glow on fast. Sip carrot juice daily and glow up!
Be ready – warm weather and outdoor fun are here. Let’s take our two, square meters of skin and go play outside – with our best looking skin safe from UV skin damage!

Please introduce yourself to our readers (i.e. your name, occupation, hobbies, etc.).
Hello my name is Keisha. I am an self employed personal trainer & part time manager at a nightclub.
What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?
What sparked my weight loss journey was me preparing for a summer trip. The goal was to loose 20 pounds for the trip and that was it. I did achieve the 20 pounds but something in me didn’t let me quit when I got back home. I tell people I believe it was God pushing me & not allowing me to give up on me just for the sake of the trip. He was setting me up for a much bigger purpose.
What was your beginning and current weight or measurements?
I honestly don’t know my starting measurements because I was so ashamed.I never really wanted to know or face it so to say. My measurements are currently 36/26/36
[Tweet “Learn how @Blessed1Keesh transformed her body along her fitness journey. #fitfam”]
How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?
It has now been a year and 6 months that I’ve been in the process of my fitness goals.
Which physical activities did you participate in during your journey?
I started out doing a lot of cardio, elliptical, treadmill, bike riding, etc. then once I came down 20 pounds I started incorporating more weight training in my workouts.
How did your eating habits change?
My eating habits changed tremendously. Started prepping all my meals it was the highlight of my success of weight loss.
What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner?
For breakfast I typically eat egg whites, spinach, and turkey bacon w bowl of oat bran. ( lol a lot I know; but breakfast should be your hardest meal of the day)
For lunch: I usually eat grill chicken breast with sweet potato and any kind of fresh green veggie, snacks: fruit, protein bar, raw veggie, protein shake, or almonds, and
For dinner? Salmon, or some kind of lean fish, brown rice, and any kind of fresh veggie.
What is your favorite fitness activity?
My favorite fitness activity is running outdoors on the lake. It just really makes me happy and revive me.
What do you do now to maintain your physique?
I work out twice a day, I continuously eat healthy, and keep myself surrounded by likeminded people heading in the same direction as me as.
#gallery-0-6 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-6 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
How did you develop and sustain the willpower to avoid the bad stuff (i.e. junk food, bad drinks, lack of activity, etc.)?
I go back to the place in my life of being unhappy and unhealthy. I go look at the pictures from my past and look at the sadness in my eyes, the lack of love that I had for myself and I never want to go back to that place or see that woman again. That is what fuels me & keeps me on track. I do stumble like everyone else. But I will NEVER stay down. I’ve come to far to look back or go back.
What advice do you have for someone looking to get started with their fitness journey but not sure where to begin?
My biggest advance is just BEGIN! You don’t have to have it all figured out to get started. Just start. I had no clue what I was doing in the beginning but my hunger taught & directed me alone with God ordering my steps and being my guide.
What do you think is the biggest misconception about this journey?
That it happens over night and that there is a quick way to it. All the quick fads, diet pills, waist belts none of it works without putting in the work and getting diet under control. It just doesn’t. You must be willing to fight & work for your success on this journey. But the reward is far greater than anything u can imagine.
Do you have any fitness inspirations? Who are they?
Yes, Kathy Drayton and her husband are my favorite fitness inspirations for more reasons than one. Of course she is incredibly beautiful & fit. But I love the fact that she shares her husband was a man of God when meeting him & him loving her & leading her with God’s love is what helped her find the greatness that was already in her. He saw in her what she could not see for her self and his love lead her to be who she is today. I think that is so awesome! And they both set a great example of God”s grace , love, commitment, and fitness. I just think they are the total package of my kind of inspiration.

10 Things to Experience in Nice, France!
10 Things to Experience in Nice, France!
The south of France is known for its many beaches along the French Riviera, also known as le Cote d’Azur and Nice is just one of the many cities that stand out. It’s a great place to visit because of the beautiful beaches where you can relax and enjoy the blue water of the Mediterranean Sea. It also has many cultural attractions like Nice’s Carnival as it’s one of the largest Carnival celebrations in the world. Since Nice is located along the Mediterranean sea, it has a mild climate year round and perfect for relaxing on the beach from May to October. The boulevards are lined with palm trees and tropical flowers giving visitors the perspective of being in paradise. Nice has beaches, delicious restaurants, amazing views and a wonderful culture. Nice is just one of the many treasures of traveling throughout the French Riviera.

Beautiful Weather
Nice has a wonderful climate most of the year. On average they have 300 days of sunshine a year! If you like sunny weather, Nice is a great place to visit during any of the seasons. If your main goal is to enjoy the beach, then Spring and Fall will be the best times to go since it is generally warm and sunny, but not extremely hot! July and August, the summer months are generally the hottest months and therefore also the busiest times of the year as tons of tourists flock to Nice to vacation.

Nice’s Carnival
Nice’s Carnival is one of the largest carnival celebrations in the world and if you are an individual who loves to explore the different types of carnival celebrations around the world from Rio to New Orleans, you definitely won’t want to miss Carnival in Nice. Check out the official website for up to date information if you plan on adding this event as something you must experience. View this video of the Best of Nice’s Carnival from 2017.
The Promenade des Anglais
This world famous Promenade des Anglais (English Promenade) has been a famous resort area for English people vacationing away from England during winter months. It is easily the most famous tourist attraction of Nice today as so many people come to bask in the Mediterranean sun. The promenade is seven kilometers long and runs from the Nice airport to Castle Hill (La colline du Château). A beach boardwalk runs alongside the Promenade des Anglais, where you can see many locals jogging or walking their dogs and just hanging out with friends on the benches underneath the palm trees. There are many upscale and expensive boutiques along the boulevard that you might find interesting if shopping is one of your hobbies. The promenade is ideal for people to take their time and enjoy from either walking, running or riding their bike or even skating.

Beaches of Nice
There seems to be an endless amount of white pebble beaches along the Promenade des Anglais because it stretches for seven kilometers. It is made up of many different beaches from public beaches to others that are owned by hotels or restaurants and provide services for locals and tourists from drinks and food to tables, sun chairs and umbrellas. If you decide to use those beaches be prepared to spend extra money on all the different amenities. Some people won’t want to pay the extra money for the amenities and that is fine because there are public beaches you can visit for free. The beaches of Nice aren’t the best beaches to swim at because the water gets very deep very quickly. Just be warned that the beaches of Nice aren’t the most comfortable because they are so rocky. You will want shoes or sandals if you plan on walking along the beaches as they are covered in jagged rocks and pebbles, which can become hot in the sun and it might feel like you are walking on fire and coals. If you don’t like sandy beaches or at least feeling like you have sand all over your body, you will probably love Nice beaches, but if you want sandy beaches you will have to venture to other nearby towns that have sandy beaches. Because the beaches have so many rocks on them, most people like to rent chairs because it isn’t the most comfortable laying a towel on top of the rocks, although many people do that. Just think of it as a free rock massage!

Old Town of Nice
Nice Old Town (le Vieux Nice) is well known for its beautiful cobbled streets, colorful buildings and small alleyways. The majority of it is pedestrian only and it’s packed with restaurants, cafes, open markets and cafes. You might easily bump into locals or other travelers because there are many narrow winding streets. There are some small hotels in this area of Nice as well, but many people just come to this area of Nice to explore. The famous market and flower market (Cours Saleya) is held almost every morning, except Monday when it transforms into a large open air flea market.

Enjoy some Gelato or Italian Ice Cream
While visiting the Old Town of Nice you can easily enjoy some of the traditional Italian ice cream called Gelato in the summer heat. You might be wondering why there is so much gelato, a famous Italian ice cream, in France and that is because this part of France was under Italy’s rule until the Treaty of Turin in 1860.
Delicious Food
Nice is located very close to the Italian border and once upon a time was actually part of Italy so there is a lot of good Italian food as well as good French food. There is a tasty local dish that you definitely should try when you visit. One is called Socca and is made from chickpea flour, olive oil and water. These ingredients are poured together into a large pan and when cooked make it look like a gigantic crispy pancake. Socca shouldn’t be completely dry, but just a little creamy inside. Socca is famous in this region of France so it is a must try when you visit and it’s easy to find because it is an excellent type of street food. You can easily find Socca and other local favorites in the old town of Nice.

Castle Hill Park
Castle Hill Park (le parc de la Colline du Château) is located on the hill overlooking Nice Old Town. The name of the park comes from the military fortress that overlooked the bay of Nice for centuries. The views from Castle Rock Hill are beautiful and definitely are a must visit as the views of the Angel Bay, the beach, the promenade, the Old Town of Nice and the Port of Nice are fantastic. At the top of the hill is also a nice park with a waterfall and a cemetery full of trees and places to relax and enjoy an escape from the city. To get to the top you can either take the free elevator to the top (this is especially helpful for many people during the summer heat) or you can walk to the top climbing the stairs along the Bellanda Tower. You can also walk through the cemetery back down to the city. One of the easiest ways to get to the top of Castle Hill is to take the Nice miniature train. You can catch this train at the Promenade des Anglais all the way to the Castle Hill Gardens.
Castle Hill and Bellanda Tower
Visit a Park in Nice
There are many public parks throughout Nice that can be a wonderful place to visit and just relax while visiting Nice. From small neighborhood parks like the Square Alziari de Malaussena to large city parks like Albert the 1st Garden which flows into the Promenade du Paillon park. The interesting thing about these parks is that they have been built on top of the Paillon River, which began to dry as most of the water was used before it reached the Meditteranean Sea. They have made a wonderful green space throughout the city where the river used to be and actually still runs underneath it. It just doesn’t have the flow it once did. They have also built the National Theater of Nice, the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Nice, along with the Palace of Congresses and Exhibition Center of Nice (basically the city’s Convention Center) and a number of other open parks to explore and exercise in.
Square Alziari de Malaussena. One of the many parks in Nice.
The Port of Nice
The Port of Nice might be on the smaller side, but it has been the city’s port since the mid 18th century. It is located on the eastern side of the city, on the other side of Castle Hill Park. From the park there are nice overhead views of the port, but it is nice to view the port up close and see all the boats, yachts, ships and other water vessels next to very colorful buildings.

Visiting Neighboring Cannes
There are many neighboring cities and small villages to visit that are close to Nice and very easy to visit as they are accessible by using public transportation. The city of Cannes is a great city to visit along the French Riviera as well. It’s just a short train or bus ride away from Nice. Take a look at the 15 places to visit on a walking tour of Cannes.
15 Places to Visit on a Walking Tour of Cannes, France!
Treasures of Traveling in Nice
There are many treasures of traveling to visit in the city of Nice, along the French Riviera from the open air markets, the Old Town, the beaches and Castle Hill Park. Cannes has many things to offer any tourist and is filled with a few of the interesting treasures that France has to offer. There are many other wonderful French cities to discover along the Mediterranean coastline like Cannes that you also don’t want to miss while exploring the French Riviera.

#LockdownZim Day 28: The Eight Grief Stages Of Waiting On Jnr Brown’s Morning Glory Album
It’s the summer of the year 2012 and the hottest record on the waves is a rap song about getting broads drinks, Makandiwa, Joburg, Harare and other ratchet stuff. It’s booming and it is packed with punchlines and metaphors. It seems like everybody likes it. I do too. It’s kind of a club jam I’d bop to. The song, entitled Madrinks, was performed by a rookie emcee by the name of James Mpakula, but…
