Being a solasmancer is like being a normal person until BioWare releases a trailer with The Man Himself in it and then feeling like an entire herd of horses just kicked you in the chest bc suddenly every ounce of pain and love came flooding back in all at once

Papae Solas is incredible conceptwise, but as an angst demon, I MUST make it a torment. its like my only biological imperative is to make things much much worse. anyway wouldn't it be fucked up if the timing of their breakup was juuust so, that he didn't even KNOW there was a child. Like it's not like Lavellan would be taking a toddler along with the party during Trespasser. If they broke up RIGHT BEFORE the final fight with Corypheus, then it's entirely possible neither of them would have known when Solas disappeared. It's not like Lavellan could track him down. Fuck, if they're bitter about it they might not even want to. it could cause so much fucking drama and problems i cant stop thinking about it

I love how much he clearly loves romanced Lavellan. It breaks his heart to leave them, but he clearly doesn't want to wrap them up in the nonsense he's starting. He wants them safe, and to remember him as Solas, not Fen'Harel.

I don't doubt Solas' love for a second, even though I can see why some people question it. But all us Solasmancers know how deeply he feels about everything - he fell so hard. He gave them a home he once loved, painted his old walls with their story so everyone who saw it would know the truth (because the stories were not kind to him). Immortalised them! still very upset about the regret demon And even post-Trespasser, he can't stay away. I'm sure if the devs had had more time we would have gotten a lot more romance material too, so I keep in mind that there were more little things we didn't see (shhhh let me dream, let me hope)
