RELEASE MY LOVE FROM SSR JAIL!!!!!)...... I will be weak in the knees for the Coral Sea event, for Azul's overblot illustration in the manga, for Azul's club card, for all of the Azul. <3

See, this was my first thought seeing Eri as not only inhabiting a charm, but constantly connected to Miorine through that port thing in the base of her skull. Like, that has got to be hella awkward for Eri. Is there a way for the neck thing to be turned off? Does Eri have a way to retreat into the charm, so to speak? How sophisticated are those things, anyway, that they can hold a DIGITISED FUCKING HUMAN SOUL in them? Seems a little much for a phone charm to have that much computing power. I mean, it’s great because Eri didn’t deserve to die by a fucking space laser because of her mom’s vengeance, but it does beg some questions...]

Thinking about an overprotective Ace who considers yuu his responsibility. He believes he has a right to stake claim over yuu, he talked to yuu first after all. When you were written off as a trouble maker with no knowledge of their world, no redeeming qualities, and cast aside as a janitor, who bullied enlightened you on the great seven? Right? 😭

It's cute. He doesn't have to be so protective, he's obviously not naturally inclined to take that role. His identity, outside of mischief, is informed by his relationship to his older brother. He could just default to mimicking those patterns with yuu, but he doesn't. With his senpais, Ace coaxes them into taking more responsibility for him than necessary. Like, in his loungewear vignette, Kalim throws him an audacious feast after his birthday which he has no problem accepting. Evidently he's not against being the younger brother or being shamelessly taken care of.

But, in regards to Yuu, his voice-lines, vignettes, and main story dialogue, all subtly express a desire to take on more responsibility for their sake. (He says it outright in his level up line) His suisui vignette has him taking control and trying to protect yuu from an unknown threat at the time. This is a major shift in contrast to his presence in Playful Land, where he is reluctant to lead while older students are still present. He gathers Deuce in book 5 to rescue yuu from Scarabia, and takes a stern tone with yuu after they admit to leaving of their own volition to follow Malleus in his enhalo vignette. Yuu is the catalyst for Ace growing up, we don't see Yuu have such an impact on other characters. 😭

But of course he wants to protect his prefect, they're only magic less and he's only human after all lol

In P4, Kanji talks about his "animal crackers", which in Japanese was a real snack called Ototo.

When Persona 4 Golden was re-released on Steam in 2020, Atlus/Sega had seemingly lost the rights or partnership to call Ototo by its actual name.

When Kanji catches Yosuke eating his Ototo, Yosuke now calls it, "Suisui Snack", and the line is also unvoiced as they just removed the audio instead of having the voice actors re-record. Since the Ototo snacks are supposed to be sea and marine-themed (ototo is like... a childish way of saying fish, yeah let's go with that), I assume the "don't sue us" name, Suisui, is from 水 which can be read sui or mizu and means water.

Unrelatedly but also relatedly, another name that had to be changed as a result is Potelong as that was also a real snack. It was localized as Tater Longs. The "don't sue us" name for that one in the 2020 Steam release was Furaimo Potato. Since Potelong look like french fries, I assume that's a combo of fried foods (furai) and the JP word for potato (imo), plus just the eng word potato lol. Fried potato potato.

The localization for these didn't change, so they're still animal crackers and Tater Longs in the 2020+ English game.

Meanwhile, other real products like Ribbon Citron and Ribbon Napolin (Eng: TaP Soda and Orange Smash) and Homerun Bars (Eng: Topsicles) still keep their real names in the 2020+ versions of the game, and you can even see their manufacturers (Pokka and Kyodo Milk) in the credits still.

So, if you've ever wondered why a milk company is in the credits...

thinking about the sillies!!!!! :) i am rotating 3 plots for them in my head such as:

1. regular magical forest setting, closest to the normal setting, just expanded on for what each chara does and their relationship with each other

2. au where all of this is actually the theme/story for a maid cafe! def thinking tokyo mew mew vibes for this, which might imply magical girls but!!! havent thought that far ahead its just cute maids rn :3

3. again, regular magical forest setting, except we are going the parsnip (game) route and making it super cutesy but have a horror element to it. what exactly that is, not totally sure,,, leaning towards something culty or like. summoning a demon route, IDK, its all just a rough outline

besides for plots, ive thought about some chara relationships too! i think liuxin, suisui and susu are siblings, with suisui + susu being twins, and liuxin being the youngest. susu is the oldest!! for personalities, i picture susu as confident, friendly and sisterly. does not take shit and will make that ur problem, though she doesnt SEEM non confrontational at all! then theres liuxin, whos a passionate baker but a bit clumsy and forgetful/sleepy!! and suisui whos a bit of a crybaby but very curious <3 no wonder shes a researcher!

i also like to imagine muge/leila together solely leila some eclipse/moon witch??? and muge is a dream keeper! i need to think harder about their link but thats definitely their basis. lastly, i love how susu and taowan look together so i ship them... gfs!!! ALSO! taowan/yaoyao look super cute too!!!! gardener and librarian having tea out by the flowers!! 🩷🌸
