Steddie AU thought of the day.

A kind of like Gran Turismo, the movie based real life events. Basically it's about this guy that is so good at the video game Gran Turismo that with a bunch others like him get the chance to drive the cars for real.

The Scoops Troupe as they are affectionately called at NASCAR is the best pit crew in the business. They are the most sought after pit crew, with Steve Harrington as pit boss. Robin Buckley is his right hand with Erica Sinclair and Dustin Henderson rounding out the crew.

Dustin is the big brain of the operation while Erica is a legacy pit as both her dad and brother have worked in the pits of NASCAR for years. Lucas currently at a rival team.

Enter Eddie Munson. A man that had spent his youth and the majority of his college days in the arcade playing Gran Turismo. He had gotten so good at it he started getting sponsorships for gaming tournaments. This allowed him to buy his own machine and play professionally.

For a stunt in the off season, ten of the top players get assigned to pit crews.

Eddie who is the best of the best gets assigned to the Scoops Troupe. And Steve and Eddie clash hard. Steve resents being shackled to this arrogant nerd and Eddie hates the meathead jock who is his pit boss. He knows the Harrington name. Knows Steve comes from money.

What he doesn't know that Steve used to be a driver. But he crashed in his rookie season, which why the game doesn't have him in it. His dad disowned him when he decided to be mechanic instead because if he had had a good pit instead on built on nepotism Steve wouldn't have crashed. He still has the burn scars on his back.

It all comes to a head when the owners use Eddie and Steve's beef as reason to sack him to put Tommy in his place.

But Eddie gets the other game players to stage a walk out. They all line their cars up on the starting line and then exit their cars, leaving them idling as Eddie tells everyone what happened to Steve and that him and the other players won't get in their cars until Steve is brought back.

The owners last until the first commercial break. Steve is brought back and the race goes on without a hitch.

Eddie and Steve's relationship improves and when Eddie wins the cup, he kisses Steve.

And when Eddie is brought back as a regular driver in the on season, Steve is his crew boss.

WIP Wednesday! I was tagged by @hangon-silvergirl, and I'm sharing a snippet of a Christmas one-shot I started this morning after getting frustrated with a scene in soul.

Setting is outside the Starcourt Mall in a No-Vecna AU. Chrissy's with the cheerleaders trying to raise money for a competition. She's very bored, and very cold, and then they hear tires screeching.

Turns out, it’s just Eddie Munson in a stand-off with a station wagon. The van and the car are aiming for the same parking spot, and Chrissy has no idea who got there first, but after a second, the car inches forward, turning itself like a crooked spine into the space. Eddie gives them exactly zero quarter to pull in correctly, and the wagon passenger will have a heck of a time getting out since they’re about two inches from their neighbor.

But—and this is the best part—when the driver starts to reverse, presumably to straighten, Eddie rumbles his van right behind them and sits, blasting music out his open windows for, like, two full minutes. Just to be a dick.

It’s not the first time Chrissy’s seen him pull this stunt. Once, he blocked Jason’s Jeep in for a whole morning because Jason had been taking up two spots. Usually, it wouldn’t matter, but he’d done it on a Friday, the day seniors got to have lunch off-campus, so Jason had been predictably pissy about the whole situation. He’d run crying to Principal Higgins and, later, proudly told Chrissy that Eddie’d gotten two weeks detention. Which was total crap—Jason had been the one hoarding spaces so he “wouldn’t ruin his paint job.”

Honestly, Chrissy should have broken up with him well before Patrick’s Halloween party. But, hey, hindsight is twenty-twenty.

You and Eddie had been best friends for a couple years, and you've been in love with him since his last shot at senior year. You sat in his van, waiting for him to finish lecturing Dustin about some stupid stunt he pulled. While you waited you shuffled through his music collection before popping in some Metallica to cool your nerves. Tonight you were going to confess. Confess to being in love with him, confess to the fact that every time you see him pout or frown you want to kiss it off of his pretty face. But after Master of Puppets finished your impatience had thinned.

Popping your head out the window you yelled for them to hurry up. Receiving a lovely smile from Dustin and a sneer from Eddie. "He was being stupid Y/N! He tried out Max's skateboard and nearly broke his goddamn arm. If someone's gotta be responsible for this dork then it's going to be me." Internally you melted, his protectiveness over the freshman filling your stomach with butterflies. Externally you ignored his sweet words and rolled your eyes.

"Munson if you don't get your ass in this car I will walk home, and you will not see me for two fucking weeks." You said, your brows furrowed. You knew the clingy boy couldn't walk away from time with you. Always right by your side, like a lost puppy (or sheep).

After grumbling for a few seconds he gave up, "Got it! Got it!" He yelped in a high pitched tone before shooting Dustin a quick glare and running to the driver's side. Opening the door and hopping into his van giving you his charming smile and his big doe eyes. You couldn't stay mad at him, you really couldn't.

As he recklessly drove to the trailer park you admired his pretty features. Big brown eyes, long curly hair, deep smile lines, rings secured on his fingers, his cute little cocky routine. And the walls he built up for everybody but you. He even had tough boundaries with his uncle. But you're his sweet spot, the gentle hand cleaning up his wounds.

You were suddenly stopped, Eddie looking towards you with confusion in his eyes. "You getting out love? Or do you wanna try hotboxing again?"

"Last time we tried to hotbox I nearly passed out. Yes I'm getting out doofus."

"Okay! But you're looking at me like I'm your messiah." He exclaimed, paired with the rolling of your eyes. Eddie lead you up the familiar path to his trailer as always. Up the creaky steps, through the rusty doorway, and into the living room. He grabbed some chips and pretzels and you walked to his room. His footsteps quickly following behind. He dropped the snacks into your arms as he rushed to clean up.

"Eds, 's just me." You said whilst he dipped down to throw a sock into his laundry bin.

"Exactly, it's you." He muttered looking towards you, before a big grin broke out on his face. Before you had time to react he sprung up and tackled you to the mattress. Tickling your sides and relishing in your giggles, his strong hands holding down your arms (but it's not like you were fighting that hard). After you had broken free from his grasp you turned him over. Legs straddling his, both of you panting.

"I'm in love with you." Eddie said, almost too quietly.

"Wait- wait wait what?" You asked, your hand gently settling near his waist.

"Y/N I have been in love with you since school started. Every time you touch my arm when I tell a joke, when you hold my hand as I start to get angry, when you tuck my hair behind my ear. Every time you look into my eyes I fall a little bit more in love with you." He finished, his eyes pinched shut, afraid of the rejection he felt settling in the pit of his stomach.

But that rejection never came, you leaned down to kiss him, to his relief, tangled your fingers into his curls. He kissed back with passion before you parted for air

"Wait. Does that mean you like me back?"

"Yes dummy. I'm in love with you." You muttered against his lips, leaning in again. This kiss was gentle and sweet, just like your friendship as it blossomed into the beautiful relationship you were building with Eddie Munson.
