Can you recommend some other Norwegian-speaking blogs please? I’m just starting out and the book I’m reading says it’s a good idea to surround yourself with your target language physically or digitally, and physically isn’t an option for me right now lol. Takk!!

Hi there! I don’t actually know many native speakers who post in Norwegian here on tumblr, but I follow a few other blogs who are learning Norwegian, some of which regularly post in Norwegian (off the top of my head - if I missed you out give us a wave!):

I also recommend tuning in to Norwegian radio - you won’t be able to understand anything for a while, but having the radio as background noise will really help you get used to the rhythm and melody of the language (P2 is my favourite channel because there’s less awful English music, more folks talking Norwegian). You can also follow NRK on instagram which will expose you to short, subtitled news clips daily. On facebook I also follow BestOfNorge which is basically common memes translated into Norwegian so they’re usually easy to understand.

Norwegian music is another really good way to surround yourself with the language - here’s a post of my own personal favourites and here’s a playlist of Disney songs. If you go on spotify and type in “norsk [genre of your choice]” you should get plenty of playlists come up. If you find someone you like, try to find them on instagram/facebook and give them a follow for even more Norwegian!

This one is cute! It’d be blue since it’s a colour I associate with calmness.

The best thing: the people. I think we are friendly and warm.

The worst thing: the insecurity. Robbery is common here so we have to be cautious.

Hello hello! Nice to meet you all! ♡ I’m Nísa. I’m twenty, and I’m from Northern Ireland. I’m rejoining the studyblr community after quite some time and I’m really very excited. Formerly, I was studyinorsk - I’m hoping a fresh start in line with my new treatment plans will help me stay motivated!!

I am a freelance illustrator, and a language student (though I have had to leave formal education due to my health). I’m determined to keep studying, though, and I went to summer school in Lyon last year to practice my French.

I currently struggle with CICI (chemotherapy induced cognitive impairment) which affects my concentration and memory, and I am physically disabled. However, this year I am starting physiotherapy and OT to try and help me overcome my fatigue and slowly get back on my feet! All this to say, please be patient with me as my health has to take priority, of course ♡
