Canada selects Boeing's P-8A Poseidon as its new multi-mission aircraft

With the P-8, Canada guarantees the interchangeability of allies NORAD and FIVE EYES.

The government of Canada signed a letter of offer and acceptance of foreign military sales for up to 16 Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft, as part of the Canadian Multimission Aircraft Project (CMMA).

Canada joins eight defense partners, including all allies of FIVE EYES, the intelligence alliance that also includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, and becomes the fifth NATO nation to have selected the P-8 as its multi-mission aircraft. The first delivery is scheduled for 2026.

“The P-8 will strengthen Canada's defense capability and readiness, and we look forward to delivering that capability to the Royal Canadian Air Force,” said Heidi Grant, president of Business Development at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. “Together with our Canadian partners, we will deliver a strong package of industrial and technological benefits that will ensure continued prosperity for Canada's aerospace and defense industry.”

The P-8 is the only proven in-service and production solution that meets all CMMA requirements, including range, speed, strength and payload capacity. This decision will benefit hundreds of Canadian companies and bring decades of prosperity to Canada through the support of the platform provided by our Canadian industrial partners.

The acquisition of P-8 will generate benefits of almost 3,000 jobs and $358 million annually in economic output for Canada, according to a 2023 independent study by Ottawa-based Doyletech Corporation.

“This is a very important day for the Royal Canadian Air Force and Boeing,” said Charles 'Duff Sullivan, managing director of Boeing Canada. "The P-8 offers unparalleled capabilities and is the most affordable solution for acquisition and life cycle maintenance costs. There is no doubt that the P-8 will protect Canada's oceans and borders for future generations."

The partnership with Canadian industry will provide long-term economic prosperity to Canada.

The Poseidon Team is the cornerstone of Boeing's Canadian P-8 industrial partnership, composed of CAE, GE Aviation Canada, IMP Aerospace & Defense, KF Aerospace, Honeywell Aerospace Canada, Raytheon Canada and StandardAero. The team is based on the 81 existing Canadian suppliers for the P-8 platform and more than 550 Boeing suppliers in all provinces, contributing to the company's annual economic benefit of approximately CAD$ 4 billion for Canada, supporting more than 14,000 Canadian jobs.

With more than 160 aircraft delivered or in service and 560,000 collective flight hours, the P-8 has proven capabilities for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief response.

Hi, I’m the creator. I’m 15 (going into 10th grade) and am from BC, Canada. Most of my hobbies are art-related (drawing, origami, painting, crafting, crochet) but I also write, play piano (trying to get back into ut tbh), and do/have done martial arts (taekwondo, capoeira, kickboxing, trying to get into Krav Maga and BJJ).

My current fandoms are DC, BSD, Arcane, and ATSV, but I’ve been in a ton of others and might post art from those as well.

Most of my art revolves around my OC’s and their lives as well as concept designs for other characters. I’m trying to get back into art after over a year of burnout and art block so uploads may be infrequent.

As for my goals in terms of art, I want to start doing commission work and finally make a comic but I don’t think I’m at the right level for either of those yet so my goal rn is just improving (mostly anatomy, hands, backgrounds, and solidifying a style).

GPF FD- catching up -

i love Lolo and Nik and always want them to do well, but they've been having a lot of trouble skating clean this season 😢 this was much better than the RD but still with little issues - i'm wondering, if they make big enough mistakes at 🇨🇦 Nationals and LaLa skate clean, will the judges hold FBS up or let LaLa beat them this time. the Canadian judge here had LaLa ahead of FBS in their FD ranking 👀

F/G - this is so not how i want to feel after watching anyone skate 😬😅

G/P - Mark quoted Carol Lane saying that Piper and Paul feel they're not skating a program when they perform this FD but creating brushstrokes of a picture that only lives while they're skating - it's kind of ott😅, but there's something to it? when they're on, like at Skate Canada, this feels like a complete story in its own world for a few minutes, and it's compelling. but when they're a little off, the bubble bursts more than for other teams

G/F - i do like that they're showing a softer and more expressive style. i feel more puzzled than anything that the program is about Stephen Hawking and his wife🤔

C/B- so much arm choreo in this program- partly it's clock hands, but also a lot of distracting, repetitive arm waving. and they spend so much of the program practically standing still or moving around a tiny portion of the ice

LaLa- how brilliant is it for a skater to be seriously studying contemporary dance and choreography while they're still competing? it shows. and Marjo’s growing in expression and extension seemingly from competition to competition. they have the best program. i’m not sure why this competition shook him, he seemed extra nervous- maybe it was hitting him that they’d made it to the big league they had less training time than most everyone and are still looking this good? bring on Nats, 4CC and Worlds🥹

Hailey was born to Osborne,A member of the Canadian special forces and Jasmine ,A Stay at home mom, the 2 would eventally get married and lived in a house in Montreal, Canada and she had her daughter Hailey Quinn, Soon,Her parents were captured by Makorov and his men and they were test subjects until a fiery accident decimated the compound, during which a Dutch Janitor named Michael "Comatose" Beenhouwer aided the couple by rescuing their daughter from the base as Osborne promised Michael to make sure she is safe before it exploded. leaving her parents dead

Since then, Beenhouwer adopted Osborne and Jasmines daughter, just to torture and brainwash her, not using numbers like with mason or memories like bell, but colors to mess her up while getting burned by a curling iron.

The mysterious fate of her parents is already gone. Luckily someone saved her, which was a group of armed men who turned out they also torture her more brutally, and left her when she was 6 in the forest.

when she was 8 She thought herself martial arts from when some of Comatose solders spar and use a gun for self-defense, she also taught herself gymnastics and tumbling and hand to hand combat

In Hailey's teen years, she joined A90 because she wanted to forget everything about what happened in her past, but when she entered, the training and missions were arduous, More than the M16, A90 Also tought her and a bunch of assassin soilder Martial arts around the world, Not only teaching them how to use Guns,Flash-bombs,and Snipers.

And that's where Hailey got her strength in becoming an assassin who relies on speed, stealth, and force to fight her enemies,

As Hailey got older, she started working for the SAS (Special Military Forces) After training to be an assassin in A90.

she then met Captain Price who then let her join task force 141 she was confused and so annoyed, But then as the time came on they got used to her being around, and since then in the mission Operation Phantom, Hailey wants to find awnsers about her parents and brings the task force with her
