Mark Scout, episode three: world-shattering revelations coming to him first in a hesitant trickle and then in a wave that crashes and destroys everything he thought he knew. accepting, no, demanding, a procedure that he had strongly rejected up until that point precisely because of how it threatened his understanding of himself; demanding it no matter the cost, because it might finally free him from the nightmare that has been slowly choking him to death. choosing, violently and abruptly, to re-integrate with the parts of himself he'd long tried to annihilate and alienate from his life. his passively suicidal, grief-stricken stupor finally boiling over, making him come utterly apart for good, and pivoting his story dramatically into uncertainty by asking once and for all the question at the core of it, who are you?, only to leave us with the breathless, expectant desire to find out the answer.

I had to go to a different veterinary clinic this weekend because my usual place is only open weekdays, and the vet was so rough with Grim, for no reason 🥲 like Grim was purring and trying to headbutt this lady and doing cute little meows (despite being so ill that she was gagging and mouth-breathing), and then this lady SCRUFFS HER to get her onto the scale. and continues to use excessive force in pinning her down for the examination. I've been to 12 years worth of vets with Grim, and I've never seen someone act this way. it was so stressful.

on the bright side thought, this vet was obviously component in other areas, because the meds are already working. she's on antibiotics and something to help her airways open (because the throat infection triggered pre-existing asthma), and it's obvious she feels so much more comfortable.

"Can't believe you're letting me... do this." Leon whispers, hand spreading over the small of your back as he pushes into you, breath caught in his throat as he sinks into you, heart racing in his ears as you exhale with him.

"Mm... least I can do to thank... you." You mumble, voice coming out muffled from the pillow you've decided to cling to. "As long as you don't tell the RA."

"Oh, of course not." He mutters, eyes rolling to the back of his head as you flutter around him. "You just feel... so... good."

"Good." You mumble, lips parted as you shift slightly to get used to the feeling of him inside of you. You wonder if he knows just how full he's making you feel, the sensation resting at the tip of your throat as you catch your breath. "Go ahead. Go ahead."

Leon starts slow, hand on your back forcing you to arch further, string of curses slipping past your lips as he eventually drunkens himself with the feeling of you around him, hips snapping to meet yours quicker and quicker, desperation reeking off of him as his fingers slide down the skin of your pelvis to brush at your clit. Theat earns him a reaction from you as you tighten around him, gasping as your body shakes from the intensity of the orgasm, Leon following shortly after.

"You think they'll separate rooms for us now?" You grin at him coyly as he forces his eyes away from your back to meet yours.

"God, I hope not." He mumbles. "Even then, they couldn't stop me if I tried."

"Wow, Leon. You're not even going to ask me out? How cruel of you."

He lifts you by the hips, turning you around as you yelp, pressing his forehead to yours as his brows furrow.

"They're going to ban co-ed dorming because of us, just watch."

"At the dining hall?" You raise a brow, lip quirked up in amusement.

"Unless you'd like something better?"

You pretend to think, running your hand through his hair, giving it a gentle tug as he tilts his head to blink at you.

"Please?"

"Since you asked so nicely." You hum. "Sweet boy."

"Yeah?"

"Mhm." You pinch his cheek. "Mine?"

"Mine." He mumbles back, sighing as he rests his head in your collar.

Have been dealing with my Anxiety Disorder™ lately, because [gestures at everything]. Normally it’s a real low level kind of thing, I’m on medication, I occasionally have therapy, but I think now we’re all just kind of In It for a while and that’s just something we gotta deal with.

I would strenuously encourage everyone reading this to find the things that keep you afloat, whether it’s a video game, a TV show, standup comedy, anime, a book series, your favorite YouTube channel, one song on loop for eight entire days, whatever it is. Just find something to climb into for a few hours and protect your peace, build up your reserves, for as long as you can.

I feel like I haven’t done much in 2024 except hang on by my fingernails, and sometimes you gotta call that good.
