#please leave a comment - let me know what you think~! <3#TOS T'Pring/Stonn#But you bet your ass that the second we know more about SNW Stonn I will immediately be writing fics about them too#I don't care what they do with him. The way that show's going they'll probably make him a cheater - it WILL not matter!!#Stonn/T'Pring forever#Star Trek: Here have a canon Vulcan couple#Me: Thank you for the meal#my writing#Everytime I set out to write smut it ends up being 13 pages of internal plot angst - It's just my signature at this point#T'Pring#Stonn#T'Pring/Stonn#Stonn/T'Pring

a (draft) list of every time Mr. Spock had an interaction that might be construed as romantic
*this version will be deleted when (if) i fix this list up with some gifs and screenshots*
so, i have decided to compile some independent evidence on a few points that have been in (more than usual) contention lately in the fandom. my focus, as always, is tos. this one is a bit more controversial in that while i very much understand and respect that many fans see Spock as gay and/or ace, i personally feel like there's canon evidence for his being bi/pan and interested on the segs even outside of Pon Farr.
my interpretation is that both spock and kirk are bi/pan, though kirk has a marked preference towards women (see the rodenberry footnote. the love of his life just turned out not to be one. and he wouldn't have it any other way) and spock leans towards men (an interpretation not backed up statistically by the list, but who cares). again, this is my opinion, and the beauty of fandom is that it's in the eye of the beholder.
previously i made a draft list of the evidence for kirk being into men (excepting spirk evidence) in tos. the goal is to have one on all of the references to chapel's feelings for spock too, but that will be more work so maybe in a few days? never trust any promises i make on this blog
three important disclaimers before we begin: kirk, chapel and uhura will not be featured.
the reasons being, in kirk's case... *gestures vaguely at the entirety of tos*; in chapel's because i intend to go into her feelings for spock and how he reacts to them on-screen separately; and in uhura's because iirc there's only one instance of her flirting with him outside of their duets (where it can be construed as part of the performance), and it's not only in the beginning of the series, where it might be seen as Early Installment Weirdness, but also in The Naked Time, the episode where everyone goes crazy. also, uhura flirts with Everyone in this show, and i say good for her.
but enough with the preambles and on with the list:
the what the fuck?!? ones:
Leila Kalomi (This Side of Paradise) - this episode is baffling to me -- did spock and leila have something going on in the past that he ended because logic and rejection of humanity and putting starfleet first? or was it one-sided? spock says it was the first time he ever felt happy, but he acts so antithetically to who and what spock is that i personally find it hard to believe. maybe he just thought that was how happiness felt, and later on he discovers he was wrong (moments like the end of Amok Time, "this simple feeling", the beginning of WoK etc.). anyways cool motive, still drug-facilitated s.a.. big fan of sex pollen fics and that quote spock says about self-made purgatories though
T'Pring (Amok Time) - going strictly by the episode, vulcan biology... the biology of vulcans made spock want her, but he feels humiliated by the loss of logic. her reasons for not wanting him are two-fold: she simply likes stonn better (in that roundabout way vulcans admit to feelings), and she doesn't want to marry an absentee living legend, which, fair. the fact that spock's not a full vulcan must play some part in it too. but there's plenty left for interpretation. they are distant at the moment, but have they always been? how long has she been into stonn? why did they not divorce more amicably previously? i could go on forever, but i this is already too long. point being, even if it doesn't gel with my personal headcanon, there's nothing really wrong with snw's interpretation of this relationship.
the lighter ones:
Romulan Commander (The Enterprise Incident) - this woman is My Commander. I would follow her to the ends of the galaxy for the imagery she has blessed my eyes with. this being said, i think the important bit here is their conversation in the turbolift at the end. spock is not one to lie out of politeness. he could have said nothing, but he used those contorted phrases of his to imply he was a willing participant, and liked it. and she picks up what he puts down. also at some point kirk complains spock is taking too long and it cuts to them in her quarters, implying that spock got kinda into it (also, jealous, jimmy?)
Kollos (Is There No Truth in Beauty?) - this one's debatable, but i'd argue there was some attraction there, in a brainy way. smart is sexy, and all. dr. jones certainly thought so, from her reactions
Adam (The Way to Eden) - Pacifist Discount Roger Daltrey Hippie Musician In A Monokini Seduces Rebellious Vulcan was the tabloid headline
Droxine (The Cloud Minders) - insert cringey line about extreme female beauty. how the seven-year cycle became public knowledge given the drama of amok time is a mystery to me. the attraction flew out of the window real quick when the planet's situation made itself know though. anyway i shipped her with vanna.
Zarabeth (All Our Yesterdays) - i... don't get how logic can be time-locked? is the st universe secretly like a civ game? takes me out of this episode way too much. anyways he almost went full warrior vulcan and stayed in the past with her
the meme ones:
The Computer (The Ultimate Computer) - mccoy said it best.
Surak (The Savage Curtain) - spock, he's your ancestor! and at this point any intellectual crush is pretty quickly superseded by how thirsty he is for That Human Booty Intuition
#again#please feel free to add to this#i'll put your additions in the final version if i get around to doing it#don't think i haven't noticed almost all of these are after amok time#specifically in season 3 too which might be related to the general s3 woes somehow#it became late while i looked into this i'm sleepy and had a rough day#does it show#star trek#star trek tos#spock#might tag more later

The interesting thing is that when T'Pring chooses Kirk as her champion, Stonn protests,
"No! I am to be the one. It was agreed."
I think the implication is that T'Pring and Stonn had been planning for him to be her champion. As she tells Spock later,
"[...] by the laws of our people, I could only divorce you by the kal-if-fee."
Sure, the risk to Stonn would be limited by the fact that Spock would be in pon farr (and they could even bet on him being in plak tow by the time he got to Vulcan), and in that condition Spock would probably lose to Stonn. But it's still a deadly fight, and therefore still risky for Stonn regardless.
So I think the story here is that T'Pring and Stonn have had this plan for awhile, and Stonn is totally on board with it because he's not content to indefinitely carry on an affair with T'Pring while her husband is off in space. He wants her to be free to marry him. But now that their plan's culmination is imminent, T'Pring starts to realize that she can't really bring herself to risk Stonn's life after all. (And she probably doesn't want Spock to die, either.)
Surprisingly, Spock's human friends show up at this very private Vulcan ceremony, providing her an alternative: she can risk Kirk's life instead of Stonn's. (And even in Spock's condition, he'd be very unlikely to lose to a human.)
The central conflict of T'Pring's story is not whether she wants Spock or Stonn; she had already planned with Stonn to invoke the challenge. No, it's worse than that. No matter what she chooses, she is sacrificing something deeply important to her.
Should she defy her culture's traditions and laws, which would probably mean leaving Vulcan and her life there forever? Would Stonn go with her if she did? Just because he's willing to risk his life to marry her in accordance with tradition, that doesn't mean he's willing to defy Vulcan law.
Should she pit Spock and Stonn against each other in a fight to the death while she watches?
Should she just go along with this marriage to Spock, and hope that Stonn would be willing to continue their relationship under those circumstances? He'd probably get fed up with it sooner or later, and she'd just spend the next 150+ years telepathically bonded to an absentee husband (Spock) who doesn't really share intimacy with her.
What she chooses to sacrifice, in the end, is the life of a human with whom Spock apparently shares the kind of loyalty she once thought he would share with her. A terrible solution, but one that wouldn't even be an option without Vulcan's murderous ancient traditions.
(It would be especially interesting if there was an unspoken conflict going on between T'Pring and T'Pau. Perhaps T'Pring hoped that Kirk dying in a Vulcan ritual would invite Federation scrutiny, which could possibly spur change to Vulcan tradition. I think it would make sense for her to want a change like that, given the awful situation those traditions have put her in. Meanwhile T'Pau—who has experience with humans—gambled on McCoy figuring out a way to save Kirk's life once the situation became clear. Remember, she's the one who allowed McCoy to administer the drug to Kirk. There's no way she didn't suspect anything. Not to mention, T'Pau could have just blocked T'Pring's choice of champion altogether, since Kirk probably wouldn't have agreed to the challenge if he knew it was a fight to the death. It was T'Pau who orchestrated the conversation such that he agreed without knowing what he agreed to. T'Pau maneuvered the situation so that T'Pring's plan to escape her marriage could work, while avoiding the aspect of the plan that might instigate change to Vulcan tradition.)
Realizing that Amok Time, from T'Pring's perspective, is basically the equivalent of a Vulcan Hallmark Movie, where a holiday (Pon Farr) makes our hero realize she wants hometown boy Stonn and a simple (Vulcan) life instead of big-city (space) boyfriend Spock, and it all comes to a head in an embarrassing misunderstanding in front of her family, is certainly making me feel some kind of way

hc. in relation to medical exams and the ship’s locker room , nudity , is of no consequence. a necessity and not exclusive to himself - to feel shame in that , would be illogical. however , circumstance differs in reference to Spock’s first experiences with a lover ; and mostly to blame on the strain of his youth.
when Spock was seven, he was betrothed to a young Vulcan named T'Pring. they had met for a few days , for acquaintance and ceremony. she was intelligent and beautiful. it gave him hope as a child that he could love her. years later then , in a chance meeting alone together at the age thirteen , T'Pring shared with Spock that her classmates had been giving her grief over her arrangement with the House of Sarek and who she was promised to.
they’d said to her that Spock , despite his status as an ambassador’s son , was not worthy of a vulcan woman - tainted by human genes. that he was weak , with no strength to give her honor. and that he would never give her children. to her , they said that he was not of vulcan between his legs. and that he would never be able to please her. so , on this day, young with too much pride , she asked Spock of these things. she asked if she could see him. asked him to show her who he was. to prove to her that one day , he would , in turn , prove them wrong.
he stared in that moment , thinking. recalling the shape of his vulcan ears , the depth of his vulcan lungs , and the rapid pace of his vulcan heart. but as his eyes often had betrayed him , Spock knew that he could not provide what she asked - human , in that regard as well. and after several seconds, he did decline , saying simply :
i am vulcan.
to this , T'Pring nodded , asking and saying nothing else. Spock requested to accompany her home then , knowing he'd most likely lost her forever. but she declined in return. leaving to wait for the day they would need to meet again , walking home with another boy named Stonn , instead.

So I want to write a fem!Spirk fanfict. How do the names Jamie (for Jim), T'Pock (for Spock), and Lenore (For Bones) sound? I'm probably just going to write Amok Time as mostly the same with the biggest difference being Stonn is T'Pock's betrothed and T'Pring being the woman he wants. I'm also not sure if it's just going to be just the main trio with reversed genders or everyone's genders is going to be different. Also does anyone know a female version of T'hy'la or should I just keep i just say that it's gender neutral. So many questions, but there's a severe lack of fem!Spirk out there. The majority I've seen is where Spock is a woman while Jim stays a man, and I'm sorry but I will not write straight Spirk. It's even more annoying when her name stays Spock, that's like fem!Kirk's name staying Jim! If anyone has advice/ideas I will love you forever.

Thank you to @trillscienceofficer for tagging me, this was fun! 1. The provisions shop was small, dark and clearly constructed centuries ago. (From: Can you Hear the Bumblebees Swarm?) Fic about Stonn loving T’Pring and T’Pring loving Spock and Spock thinking he might love Christine and Christine mostly just wanting to have sex. There’s also stuff about what happens to Vulcans who lose their logic because I love worldbuilding apparently! 2. “I’m going.” Noss said after dropping off the bag of spoils for Tom and the not-there doctor to shell and cook. (From: A Good Meal Away from Home) A fic from Noss' POV for this fic! I liked giving her some semblance of a backstory and might write more for her - I love yearning and requited unrequited love. 3. The home Stonn had bought for them was two stories with a small garden by the water, a gate blocking it from the road. (From: The Wanting comes in Waves) This is a T'Pring/Stonn fic in the TOS universe. I had a great time describing their house (as usual) and it was fun getting into Stonn's POV since he's such a literal side character - pretty much makes him a blank slate beyond his devotion to T’Pring! 4.Tuvok had never understood the phenomena of Vulcans becoming attracted to humans. (From: When you Speak you Speak to my Soul) Chakotay punches a guy for Tuvok and Tuvok forgets how to act. Here I was thinking about 'Learning Curve' and Vulcan challenges/ritual violence as a display of romantic interest. 5. “Tuvok, are you able to come home?” T’Pel asked. (From: To Eat Until Full) I really liked this one even though it's so niche! It's Tuvok taking care of making dinner for his family on a starbase pre-Voyager and trying to deal with being away from home. Should he speak his native language more at home? Why do his kids keep asking for pizza? Is he doing the right thing, raising them off-world? Will his father-in-law give him a break and let him cook Aikum-Shur with store-brought ingredients instead of hand-picked produce? What does it mean to be Vulcan? 6. The nape of T’Vok’s neck was a new sight and the only bit of skin on her that was unblemished by bruises from a fight Suder had heard but hadn’t seen, tucked safely away in her quarters, writing poetry poorly and growing flowers. (From: Like Scissors to the Neck) What if we went to an alien bathhouse and I noticed you cut your hair and I wrote you poetry I'll never let you read and I kind of want to kill you and I kind of want to stay with you forever and we were both women? 7. Tuvok was aware that his fellow crewmen speculated about how he would reunite with his wife. (From: Burned into Memory - Glowing Beneath the Surface) Tuvok worries about the fact that he has issues and baggage related to the delta quadrant and he isn't the same person he was before - will T'Pel still want to be with him? 8. They were in a small room sectioned off from the rest of the temple with a heavy weaving rug. (From: The Gardener Moves Forward Through Weeds) A T'Pel-centric fic set while everyone still assumes Voyager is lost forever and its crew are dead. Thinking about Vulcan love and its dangers. Thinking about Vulcan care, how alien methods of care and emotional maintenance may differ from humans. It was fun to write love as a foreign invader. 9. Amanda’s bathroom was small to give space to the other rooms in her apartment and Sarek’s things stood starkly apart from her own, even when they were mixed together. (From: Strange Thoughts) Literally just Sarek and Amanda, young, pre-kids, fucking around. 10. “Doctor?” Kes asked, stepping into sickbay. (From: Away - to or at a Distance) Wanted to write a Kes-centric fic and for some reason decided to ALSO try out a more action focused fic? I don't know how this turned out, I'm more of a 'slice of life' or 'angst' writer but hey, it's fun to try new things! I tag anyone who wants to do it, honestly. I don't know who follows this blog and also writes so it'd be fun to see!
