Eddie, posting to TikTok: Stevie, the people wanna know more about you using your crying powers for evil
Steve: It’s not a power. It’s a skill.
Eddie:
Steve: I don’t know, I got my French teacher to bump up my grade. Got out of some parking tickets. Convinced a lot of parents to let me sleepover. The trick is to look like you’re trying really hard not to cry.
Eddie: You ever use your powers on me?
Steve: Of course not.
Steve, tearing up: I’m just - so passionate about what color we should paint our bathroom walls.
Robin, remembering that they lost their deposit on their first apartment because Steve insisted that the coral colored bathroom gave him migraines and they needed to paint over it: You bitch

Eddie, who has never wanted kids and always feels guilty about it even though Steve had been more than understanding and happily agreed, suffering the horror of baby fever from the second he sees Steve gently cradling Nancys newborn.
Eddie, who immediately falls head over heels for the idea of having kids with Steve when he hears the soft little coos Steve makes whilst ranting about how he's going to the best uncle in the world and squishing the little babies fat cheeks.
Eddie, who slams the forms they have to fill out in front of Steve the very next morning and says "I think if I don't get to see you raise a child and be the best dad the world has ever seen then I think I might die actually".

Stuck
~1.5k words || rating: teen || cws: dissociation; unlabeled neurodivergencies and mental illnesses
He’s never quite sure how it happens, seeming to always sneak up on him. One minute he’s up and moving around, usually cleaning, organizing, or just meandering around the house. The next, he’s lying on the floor in the middle of the living room. He tries to move but can’t. Not because he’s physically restrained, like when the rope from the Russians cut into his wrists or how the vines constricted his neck.
No, Steve’s just lying here on the floor, trapped in his own mind. His eyes are raw, stinging with dryness. Painful tingles pop throughout his right arm from where his head rests heavy on his bicep. His hip and shoulder ache. He can’t move or talk or blink. Can barely think. He’s not in his body.
He’s lost. Stuck.
Getting stuck means losing time, chunks of days lost to a void. It means missing meals and unanswered phone calls. Growing up, it felt like an escape. A safe way to pass the time between eating and sleeping. He’d come back to himself, sometimes hours later, sore and hungry, mustering up energy he didn’t have. Once, his parents discovered him frozen on the ground. Mom’s yelling and Dad’s foot shoving his side brought him jolting back into his body. Like waking from a nightmare, rising from the dead chased by panic.
It happens less now, but still catches up to him when he’s exhausted. He thinks today it was the kids– they were particularly obnoxious. Yelling excitedly about Eddie’s new campaign ideas, trucking in snow from outside after building a demo-snowman. Cooking for them, cleaning after them, getting them home safe.
Yeah, he gets how he maybe overdid it a bit.
But with Eddie here, it’s easier. His sweetheart always knows how to help, usually checking up on him after stressful days. Hopefully he comes to check on him soon.
Because Steve can’t move. Or talk. Or even blink.
The sun is starting to set.
~~~
The Party were extra chaotic today, pushing him to the fringes of patience. He’s thrilled they’re excited about his newest campaign ideas, but god, did they have to be so unbearably loud about it? Dustin’s screeches are still rattling between his ears. Not to mention the soreness he feels from helping the kids build a snowman demo-thing and the ensuing snowball fight.
The idea of an occult campaign has been percolating in Eddie’s brain for weeks, and after the day he’s had, he’s lost to the research. Perched on a chair upstairs in their bedroom, books are scattered across the desk and onto their bed next to him. Typically, creative deep-dives restore his energy after a long day. But when he’s well and truly exhausted, he’ll lose hours at a time to the work. Getting stuck, according to Steve. And yeah, Eddie can see how that fits.
Growing up, Eddie would lose hours throwing himself into his latest and greatest project, whether it be drawing, playing guitar, writing campaigns, reading or even the time he tried juggling. Entranced by his newest obsession, his surroundings would fade into the background. He’d forget to do his homework, to eat or drink. Hell, sometimes he’d forget to pee. Wayne’d drop a gentle hand to his shoulder– pulling him back to reality– and he’d take off like a shot to the bathroom. Every sensation hitting all at once: bladder about to burst, stomach rumbling, dry mouth, headache, body stiff and achy.
As he gets older, it’s still a frequent occurrence. So Robin had given him the idea of setting alarms, saying it helps her remember to take breaks while studying. And he’s thankful, because it works like a charm when he actually remembers. But when he forgets, his Stevie takes care of him.
He’ll find Eddie crouched awkwardly by the desk, eyes manic, only seeing what’s in front of him. Eddie will eat or drink anything Steve gives him, barely tasting whatever it is, just as long as he can see it. And Steve lets him be for at least a few hours so he can burn energy into whatever project he's lost himself in. All Steve cares is that he’s fed and hydrated. Usually, Eddie comes to slowly, with Steve’s fingers gently carding through his hair, or soft strokes up and down his spine.
Now Eddie breaks his own musings, eyes strained, hungry, and needing to stretch. He can’t help but wonder why his sweetheart hasn’t checked on him.
Moonlight is shining through the window.
~~~
It’s eerily quiet as Eddie makes his way down the stairs. He half expects to find Steve stress-baking, but the kitchen is dark.
So he checks the garage– the car is still here. And the backyard– he never sits by the pool alone. Then the front porch– maybe he went out for a smoke.
Guilt eats at Eddie as he finds his beautiful boy on the living room floor, curled into himself.
Stuck.
He hates finding Steve like this– stuck and lost like Eddie’s engrossed fantasies. Yet so, so different.
The first time Eddie found him, unresponsive and immovable, he spiraled into a panic so strong Steve had broken free of his own melancholy, finding Eddie hyperventilating and sobbing in the midst of a flashback. Too much like Chrissy. Like Patrick and Nancy.
They'd talked about it. And Eddie had appreciated afterwards how Steve struggled to describe what being stuck feels like, why it happens, what to do about it. It'd helped.
So on grey days, long nights, the holidays, or when the kids are extra rowdy, Eddie looks for the signs. He's been good about getting Steve to slow down before it's too late.
But on rare occasions, there will be a day like today. When it’s too much for both of them.
Eddie doesn't know how long his baby’s been lying here. Doesn't know when he ate or drank or even blinked. Because he’d holed himself up, desperate for time alone to just think. To be with himself after spending all day surrounded by people. But he forgot to set an alarm, assuming Steve would be there.
He focuses on his sweetheart, slowly kneeling down next to him so as not to startle him. Remembers all of the tips and tricks Steve needs.
"Hey honey," Eddie whispers, close enough to be present but not overwhelming. "Don't worry baby we'll get you unstuck I promise. I'm going to reach out and grab your hand now ok?"
He continues to whisper gentle praises and reassurances as he holds Steve's hand. It's limp for a time, and Eddie is hungry, but he doesn't stop. Time is lost to them both again, until he feels a slight squeeze on his fingers. Steve finally blinks, slow and hard.
"Hey big boy, love to see those pretty, long eyelashes.” He smiles down at his baby, honeyed hazel eyes slowly refocusing. “Alright, once for no and two for yes: do you want me to help you onto the couch?"
A full minute passes before Eddie feels two gentle squeezes to his fingers.
"That's great sweetheart. I'm gonna tilt you to sit up and we'll get you settled. Then I'm going to ask if you want anything. Ready?" Two squeezes.
They finally get to the couch, and Eddie can already feel a strong sense of relief at just seeing his baby move off the floor. He hears Steve's back pop as they stand, decides he'll give him a massage later.
It goes on. And on and on. Eddie follows the process of squeezes until Steve is unstuck and back in his body.
"Water?" Two squeezes.
"Food?" One squeeze.
"Blanket?" Two squeezes.
Eddie's patience always pays off. He's got Steve set up on the couch, hydrated and relaxed, with his favorite movie playing softly. He’s managed to grab a bowl of cereal for himself. They're cuddled and warm with Steve’s head in his lap. Eddie glides his fingers up and down the sore side of Steve’s body, gently squeezing as he goes.
~~~
Steve comes back to himself surrounded by love.
His eyes sting and his mouth is dry. He doesn't know what time it is, but notices the sun has long set, moonlight shining through the curtains. The bones in his neck crack and his joints pop as he stretches.
But he's warm under the blankets, tucked into his boyfriend's chest as they watch the teddy bear Star Wars. Eddie's loosely twirling the hairs at the nape of his neck, lightly tugging and sending tingles down his spine. There's a glass of water and crackers on the table in front of him.
Getting stuck inside his head terrifies him, something he dreads as much as the night terrors.
But with Eddie, it's easier, happens less often. And when it does, he always wakes up to love.
~~
This was a pure self-indulgence fic. An exact recreation of my relationship with my partner. It fits my headcanon for the boys perfectly (though I'm obviously biased haha)
💫 Steve Harrington's House 💫
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, after this post, I couldn't let go of this house. I decided to rebuild it in The Sims and then I had so much info I felt the need to share it. Other than commenting on some crazy aspects of this mansion, I think it can give some input/ideas for possible scenarios in fanfiction! (for one, I'd like to know what Eddie thinks about half of the features of this house lmao). My process was: canon information > actual house information > gaps I filled the best I could Disclaimer: keep on describing Steve's house however you want to!! I'm sharing this in case you wanna be as close to the actual house as possible!
Steve runs hot and Eddie is always cold, but Eddie is the sun and Steve is the moon. Steve exercises every morning to keep in shape and Eddie can eat whatever he wants and not gain weight. Steve loves to make big romantic breakfasts and Eddie is barely hungry until 2 pm. Steve is horrible at board games but competitive and Eddie is laid back and always wins. Steve cooks full meals when he’s hungry and Eddie eats a bell pepper like an apple. Steve loves to sit on his roof and look at the stars and Eddie loves to sit on Steve’s roof and look at Steve.
love me softly p6
tags from @theamazingannie on part five i apologise and here’s the the next one love u <3
@dazedandinked :)
Eddie can’t stop thinking about it.
The way Steve slid down the wall of the van after a while and wrapped his arms around Eddie tighter as they laid on the floor together, the way his cheek pressed to the top of Eddie’s head. The way their legs twined together, their bodies pressed together completely. The way Eddie slept that night with Steve’s heartbeat against his cheek.
It’s all he can think about all weekend. It’s all he can think about on his way to school, when he sees Steve’s Beemer in the parking lot. It’s all he can think about when he catches Steve’s eyes in the hall, when Steve smiles softly and his eyes sparkle.
Eddie feels fucking bashful. Like a fourteen year old girl whose crush made eye contact with her. (Which… is unfortunately accurate.)
Steve keeps leaving him drawings.
On Monday there are two in his locker at the end of the day, both on folded, lined paper. One is in pencil, a messy sketch of a hand that looks like Eddie’s, complete with scribbled, indistinct rings, the other in pen, an abstract colourful drawing of some flowers.
On Tuesday, there’s one, neatly folded and resting on his textbooks. It’s in pencil, dark and heavy and intense in a way that makes Eddie stare. He can’t tell what it is, but it doesn’t matter. It joins the others on his wall.
On Wednesday, there are two. One in pen of Eddie’s van in the parking lot, neat with meticulous lines crossing and overlapping, and the other of a messy crowd of people in pen with one person in blue highlighter. Eddie can tell that it’s him, thin lines of blue swirling for his curls. He manages to wait until he’s in the car to squeal like a fourteen year old girl.
And then on Thursday.
On Thursday, Eddie opens his locker, already smiling, excited, and he unfolds it to find Steve’s slanted, pretty handwriting.
hope i did him justice
- steve ♡
And even in his confusion he dies a little on the inside at the heart. He rereads the note again, furrowing his brows before he flips the page over and his heart stops beating.
It’s his character.
That he told Steve about.
Carefully drawn in black ballpoint pen, accurate to every word Eddie said on Friday, down to the bow in his hand, to the shape of his ears.
Eddie stands there too long, staring and staring and staring and falling and falling and falling.
He goes to Gareth’s. His hands are shaking.
Mrs Gareth’s Mom lets him in again, directs him to Gareth’s room after pushing a soda can into his hands with a smile, and he finds Gareth at his desk.
“Hey, Eddie,” Gareth says, glancing up, and Eddie doesn’t respond, setting the soda down and pulling the drawing out of his pocket to slap it onto the desk in front of Gareth. His hands are still shaking.
Gareth opens the paper, his eyes finding the drawing before they light up.
“This is really good, man.”
“Flip it over,” Eddie says, biting his thumbnail anxiously, his breathing short. Gareth raises an eyebrow at him, curious, suspicious, and Eddie just swats his hand, prompting him. Gareth flips it over and reads the message, his eyes widening.
He looks up at Eddie, jaw slack.
Eddie’s eyes are burning. Somehow he hasn’t cried about it at all, but the dam breaks when Gareth says emphatically, “Holy shit.”
He turns away, wiping his face.
“He likes you,” Gareth says.
“Do you think?” Eddie asks, his voice shaking. Gareth gives him a duh look.
“There’s a fucking heart on it, Eddie.” He holds the paper up and shakes it. “A heart.”
“I know,” Eddie says, bouncing slightly. “I know, I know, I know.”
“Steve fucking Harrington,” Gareth says dryly. “Drew a D&D character for you.”
“Yeah,” Eddie says weakly.
“You’re gonna turn him into a nerd aren’t you?”
“I might.”
Gareth grins almost mischievously before he flips the page back over and looks at the drawing again.
“God, this is really good.”
“I know,” Eddie says. “He’s so good, I can’t even…”
Gareth is still grinning, and Eddie falls to the floor, groaning, covering his face, rolling around. Gareth laughs.
“Everything okay in here?” Mrs Gareth’s Mom asks, popping her head in the door. Eddie just groans again, rolling so his head is under Gareth’s bed.
“Eddie’s getting closer to obtaining a boyfriend.”
“Shut up,” Eddie says loudly.
Mrs Gareth’s Mom laughs.
“What’s his name, Eddie?”
Eddie sighs.
“…Steve.”
“Steve,” she repeats lightly. “Is he nice?”
“He’s so nice.”
Eddie tries to sit up, but he hits his head on the wood of Gareth’s bed frame with a loud ow, and Gareth bursts into laughter.
Eddie flips him off and manages to get out from under the bed to glare at him.
“Oh dear.” Mrs Gareth’s Mom looks at him, sorry in her eyes and a suppressed smile gracing her lips. “Let me get you some ice, hun.”
“Thank you, ma’am,” Eddie calls after her before he looks up at Gareth. “How’d a lady like that raise an asshole like you?”
Gareth just cackles.
Even with the ice pack, his forehead bruises. It’s not too bad, soft purple and yellow under his bangs, but Gareth keeps trying to poke at it. Because of course.
Steve catches his eye in the cafeteria on Friday.
Eddie is trying to listen to what his friends are saying, but he gets distracted, obviously, suppressing a smile when Steve tilts his head at him like a confused puppy.
Bathroom? Eddie mouths, and Steve grins, nodding.
Eddie covers his face with his hair, nodding back, and he turns to Gareth as Steve gets up. Gareth is already staring at him dryly.
“Going somewhere?”
“Uh. Yeah, I have to, uhm. Bathroom.”
“Is bathroom code for sex?”
“Wha— No?”
“Are you sure?”
“…Screw you, Gareth.”
Gareth pokes him in the forehead as he’s getting up, and Eddie smacks the back of his head.
Steve is leaning against the wall when Eddie walks in, his hands behind his back, and he looks up with a sly sort of smile that gives Eddie butterflies.
“Hi.”
“Hi,” Eddie says quietly. “Uhm.”
He pushes his hand through his hair nervously, and Steve watches, his brows furrowing, and stands up straight.
“What happened to your forehead?”
“…What?”
Steve moves forehead, carefully pushing Eddie’s bangs out of the way to see the bruise, his thumb brushing over it lightly.
“What happened?”
“Oh, uhm.” Eddie takes a breath, every nerve in his body lit up like a sparkler. “I, uhm. I was laying with my head under my friend’s bed and I… tried to sit up.”
Steve stares blankly at him for a moment before he snorts, looking away and stifling a laugh. Eddie’s jaw drops.
“Wow,” he says. “Wow.”
“‘M sorry,” Steve says, still laughing. He’s still touching him, standing too close, his fingers in Eddie’s hair.
“I have a head injury,” Eddie says. “And you’re laughing at me.
“I’m sorry,” Steve giggles. “It’s not funny, sorry.” He stops laughing, trying to suppress a smile, and Eddie tilts his head at him, raising his eyebrows. “Here.”
He pulls Eddie closer, lifting his chin, and pressing a soft kiss to the bruise. Eddie’s brain goes out like a light bulb that’s been left on for too long.
“All better,” Steve says softly, his thumb brushing over the bruise again before he pulls away, carefully fixing Eddie’s bangs.
“Thanks,” Eddie breathes.
“So.” Steve leans back against the wall. “Did you get the, uhm, the drawing? Yesterday?”
Eddie blinks, snapping out of it, feeling the ghost of Steve’s lips on his skin.
“Oh,” he says, shaking his head. “Yeah, I— That’s what I wanted to talk about, I’m—“
“Was it okay?” Steve asks almost shyly.
“It’s fucking incredible, Steve,” Eddie says passionately, reaching out and grabbing Steve’s shirt. “You’re so good, you’re so— you’re so talented, Stevie, it’s, like, the best thing I’ve ever seen.”
Steve is staring back at him, his eyes wide, shining the fluorescent light of the bathroom.
“Really?”
“Jesus, yeah.” Eddie hesitates, looking at him anxiously. Steve is a little taller than him. Eddie likes it. “Thank you.”
Steve grins shyly, his hand finding Eddie’s on his shirt. His fingertips brush over the back of it, over his knuckles.
“I, uhm.” Eddie hesitates. “I keep all of them. They’re all up on my wall.”
“Really?” Steve asks in a small voice.
“Yeah,” Eddie says lightly. “They’re beautiful.”
Steve’s cheeks flush a lovely shade of pink.
Eddie’s live-streaming, just chattering away about nothing in particular when Steve comes into the room. Hes holding his phone away from his face, frowning at it before rolling his eyes.
The phone is not on speaker but you can clearly hear the lecture that’s Steve’s ignoring when he turns to Eddie and gives him that smile that gets him everything he wants, “Hi, baby.”
Just because Eddie is aware that he’s being played, doesn’t mean he doesn’t love the game, “Stevie, do you want something?”
“Nothing big,” Steve nods. “Just the number of that lawyer you have on retainer.”
The audience at home can visually se Eddie’s brain come to a screeching halt, “I don’t have a lawyer. My recons label has a lawyer.”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
Eddie leans in and whispers, “…What did you do?”
“Nothing, yet,” Steve replies, dropping the act all together. “My lawyer says she won’t defend me if I get arrested. Traitor.”
Oh, yeah. That is definitely Erica’s voice lecturing him on the phone. Cool. Eddie nods to himself, “Arrested for what?”
“I’m going to throw a rock through our neighbor’s window.”
There’s a beat where Eddie realizes he’s serious and is like, “Is that a reasonable response to a guy accidentally backing his truck into our flower bed.”
“No, we’re pass that,” Steve says over his shoulder, leaving both Eddie and his phone behind. “I’m going to burn down his house though.”
Eddie shakes his head, looks back at his live-stream but then hears a sound and is like, “Was that front door? Did he leave? Shit.”
And then Eddie’s gone.
Billy Hargrove x Fem!OC
Summary: JJ Feron returns home for the holidays and attends a posh cocktail hour graciously organized by Mr. and Mrs. Harrington to honor her father's law firm. A surprise guest lights a fire in her, and things quickly take a mischievous turn. Unwrap the magic of this holiday season in the next 2.9k words ✨ CW: SMUT, unprotected sex, light spanking, light hair pulling, mirror scene, tons and tons of eye contact. A huge thank you to my beta reader and editor @lifesshort-imshorter for helping bring this piece to life!!!
DAY ONE OF HOHOHOE WEEK Prompt: Childhood Bedroom
“What the fuck is a ‘cocktail hour,’ anyway? The last place I want to be on my first day back in Hawkins is at some stuffy lawyer party with my parents and their insufferable colleagues.” JJ griped to Nancy on the phone as she donned her outfit for the evening’s party when a soft rapping at her bedroom door caught her attention. “Nance, I’ve got to go. I’ll text you.” JJ ended her call, tossing the phone onto her bed before the door cracked open slightly.
“Oh, that dress looks great on you!” Eileen Windrow-Feron had always maintained that image was everything, and the family image was something JJ had rebelled against since the moment she could speak. But that night, she agreed to wear the dress her mother picked out for her and to keep as quiet as she could so as not to taint the memory of the Harringtons’ first, and hopefully annual, cocktail hour in the honor of Feron, Hutchinson, Russell & Cobb.
The firm was a family heirloom of sorts, still running on what Linden Feron referred to as a “humble sum” of old money. JJ had no interest in the business, law, or any of her father’s pompous cohorts who were sure to attend, including Steve Harrington’s parents, though her mother was always gushing about what gracious hosts they were to welcome the family firm into their home. Those monologues always made JJ gag.
“I feel like my legs are shrink wrapped together,” JJ complained as she swiped her mother’s hands away from fixing the dress’s neckline.
“Jacqueline June, don’t be so negative. This is a very important night for your father,” Eileen scolded as she returned to busying herself with primping the dress to perfection.
“I get it; I really do. You’ve only said it about a hundred times,” JJ sighed.
“Well, a hundred and one won’t hurt,” Eileen quipped back. “There. Look at you.” Eileen
smiled proudly at her daughter in a black, knee-length, satin dress with spaghetti straps and a square neckline, her auburn curls pinned half up, and her frown painted a deep berry color. It took all of JJ’s strength not to roll her eyes while Eileen’s bright smile shone on her.
“When do we leave?” She turned away from her mother’s gaze, feeling awkward and vulnerable.
“Fifteen minutes. Be downstairs and ready.” JJ nodded in response as Eileen let herself out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Hey Jay, long time, no see.” Steve Harrington stood in the foyer of his parents’ home in a forest green button-down with his famous hair coiffed to perfection. He was broader than before, but still just as JJ had always remembered him.
“Hey, Steve,” she replied as he enveloped her in a friendly hug. “When did you get in?”
“Just last night – late,” Steve grumbled. “But there’s no rest for the aristocratic,” he joked, running a hand through his chocolate brown locks. JJ smiled, the dimple in her left cheek coming out of hiding. She and Steve shared a lot of the same disdainful feelings for the crowd that surrounded them, though he was always described as easier to get along with by the older adults in their circle. He was a great friend, and a trustworthy confidante, and JJ had never been more glad to see him than in that particular moment.
“Thank God you’re here. I don’t know if I could stomach this alone,” she confessed quietly through gritted teeth.
“Well, you’ll be disappointed to know I’m on dish duty tonight and starting early to sneak out to a date.” Steve frowned, his eyes apologetic.
“No way,” JJ whined.
“‘Fraid so.” Steve nodded solemnly before pulling on JJ’s arm. “But look, look, look.” He spun her around and gestured across the living room to the fireplace where a group of men were standing, whiskey glasses in hand. “Do you see him?”
“See who?” JJ craned her neck every which way to get a glimpse of who Steve was talking about.
“Navy blue suit, smoking next to the ashtray on the mantle.” Was that – no. It couldn’t be.
“Is that Billy Hargrove?” JJ’s verdant eyes rounded in shock.
“In the flesh,” Steve confirmed.
“How? Why?” JJ couldn’t believe she was seeing Billy mingling with the high society of Hawkins at the most pretentious event of the year.
“He’s an intern for Cobb. I guess he’s smarter than I ever gave him credit for. Graduating from law school next year. I couldn’t believe it either.”
“Just when you think there are no surprises left,” JJ mumbled, staring hard at Billy’s distracted ocean eyes as he went through the motions and smiled, laughing politely at the undoubtedly dry jokes the old men told around his circle. “I need a drink.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JJ sighed deeply as she poured herself a new glass of chardonnay at the bar. Time wasn’t passing fast enough. She let her mind wander far away as she sipped, staring at the wall in front of her when a velvet voice snapped her back to reality.
“JJ Feron. I guess I should’ve known you’d be here.” She swiveled to meet Billy’s cerulean eyes. Seeing him up close was like a dream, though she’d never be caught dead saying it out loud. Billy punches-anything-that-looks-at-him-too-long Hargrove has always been a panty-dropper, but JJ never fell for his tricks, refusing to be another notch in his belt despite being historically curious to know why others were so eager to let Billy use them like that.
“Billy,” she replied curtly. “Fancy seeing you here. Shocking, honestly. How’s the internship going?” JJ’s glib, tight-lipped smile let Billy know she didn’t really care and wasn’t keen on his choice of profession, but he answered politely anyway.
“I’m learning a lot,” he replied, nodding and eyeing his boss across the room. “Mr. Cobb has been kind to me.”
“Kind?” JJ snorted. Andrew Cobb was anything but kind. She seemed to recall the firm brushing not just a few domestic violence incidents under the rug, but also generously covering his rehab expenses more than once as “undefined healthcare benefits.”
“That’s the best way I can describe it.” Billy smirked at JJ’s obvious disdain for Mr. Cobb, knowing she was right, but not being able to tell her in front of everyone that he was just doing his best to get ahead while he could.
“Of course you’re one of them now,” JJ chided, taking another healthy gulp of chardonnay.
“Woah, woah, hey.” Billy’s voice was low, husky, and deliberate as he leaned in closer, towering over her small frame. His eyes pierced hers like daggers – a war of sapphires and emeralds – as he made himself crystal clear. “Don’t you ever put me and those bastards in the same category, you understand?” JJ’s concentration was broken, and Billy’s sincerity gave her chills.
“Tell me why I shouldn’t.”
“I’m not one of those yuppy, scumbag corporate attorneys helping the rich guys keep up their image or kissing insurance company ass. As soon as I’m licensed, I’ll be a guardian ad litem for kids in the system, a legal advocate who can represent their best interest while the court decides their future. They need someone like me.” Billy’s expression was entirely serious, and JJ couldn’t help but feel some admiration for what he was doing. He was passionate, driven, and she knew he would succeed. Billy Hargrove never half-assed anything as long as she’d known him.
“I never would have guessed,” JJ almost whispered, holding out her glass for him to cheers. Billy’s face softened back into a half smile as he clinked his glass to hers, both of them taking a sip as Mr. Cobb appeared beside them, Billy’s meticulous mask sliding back into place to greet him.
“Jacqueline,” he crooned as JJ almost spat out her drink at her government name being used in front of one of her classmates. Only her mother was allowed to call her that. “You clean up so well.” Billy stared down at his shoes to hide his smirk at that comment because if he knew one thing, it was that you don’t slide backhanded compliments across JJ Feron’s table.
“Andy,” JJ gushed, her tone deliberately patronizing. “How’s New Wife Number Three? Getting along with Old Wife Number Two? Are they both here?” JJ looked around exaggeratedly, pretending to try and find them. Mr. Cobb’s face flushed crimson, and he said nothing more before making a quick exit back into the living room.
“Harsh,” Billy chuckled, sipping his whiskey.
“If you only knew.” JJ tried not to let her smile show, though she couldn’t help but be a bit proud of herself every time she told off someone who really deserved it. “Don’t look now.” JJ braced herself as Eileen rushed toward them, her brows tightly knitted together and fists balled up at her sides.
“Jacqueline June Feron,” she hissed. JJ sighed and let her eyes close, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“What,” she whined.
“You know exactly what.” Her mother was furious. “If you can’t behave, then make yourself scarce. Go help Steve in the kitchen. Now.” The order was clear, and there was no negotiation to be had. JJ raised her drink halfway to Billy and retreated to the kitchen to help Steve wash the guests’ dishes. At least in the sanctuary of the dish pit, she wouldn’t be subjected to any more prying eyes or passive aggressive remarks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Please, Jay. Please. I’ll owe you one,” Steve begged, puppydog eyes fully engaged. JJ rolled her eyes and let him plead even though she knew from the start she’d agree. She just liked to hear his desperation.
“Fine, Steve, but you owe me for sure.” Steve beamed, shaking the suds off his hands into the sink and grabbing the nearest dish towel to dry off on.
“You’re my favorite, Jay,” he declared, giving her a quick peck on the cheek before rushing out of the kitchen, not to be seen for the rest of the night. It was just like Steve to make an early escape attempt for a date, but JJ didn’t mind. The silence was soothing, and anywhere was better than being out there on the floor with those assholes. She lost herself in the mundane routine of rinse, scrub, rinse, repeat and didn’t notice another body infiltrate her safe haven until she heard him.
“Harrington ditch you?” JJ could hear the grin in Billy’s voice.
“No,” she defended. “I told him it was okay to skip out early. You’d understand; he has a date.”
“A date, huh? Boy, do I feel sorry for that poor sucker of a lady,” he quipped. JJ couldn’t help but chuckle. A comfortable silence wafted among them as JJ continued her chore. “Care if I help?”
“Please don’t feel obligated. You should go enjoy the rest of the party.” She tried to keep her tone level, but it came out with a thin layer of venomous icing on top.
“Right. Move over.” Billy appeared alongside JJ and rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt one at a time, and something about the way his strong, veined hands worked over the cuffs so effortlessly and methodically made her heart palpate in her chest.
She worked next to him for the better part of an hour, exchanging small talk and telling stories about college. They laughed like old friends, and JJ decided during that time that maybe Billy wasn’t as much of a dick as she had always assumed.
“Billy Hargrove on the straight and narrow, huh? I guess anything is possible,” JJ teased through a dimpled smile.
“Hey, now,” Billy retorted. “Don’t go spreading that rumor around town. I’ve still got a little fire in me. I just have to pick and choose the right opportunities to let it out.” JJ met his gaze, and his eyes glinted like the edge of a switchblade, a devilish smirk forming in the corner of his mouth. Her insides turned to putty, and in that moment, she conceded to becoming another notch in the belt of the devil – she just couldn’t help herself.
“How do you know which opportunities are the right ones?” Instinctively, she took a step closer to him so their legs were touching. Billy looked down at the contact and then back up into her eyes, a smile blooming on his plush lips.
Pinning her with his stare, he let his fingertips brush over the exposed skin of her shoulder, brushing back a lock of her hair that had fallen out of place. “Well,” he drawled. JJ’s breath hitched at the feeling of his smooth hand tracing over her goosebumps, nowhere near where she really wanted it to be. “I guess I just feel it out.”
“So how do you feel about this opportunity?” JJ toyed with Billy’s tie between her fingers, pressing her body into him, her eye contact unwavering.
“I’d say I feel pretty damn good. What do you say we get out of here?” He leaned closer, the scent of whiskey, smoke, and spicy aftershave lulling her into a trance as she answered.
“Why get out of here when we can go up?” JJ pointed to the staircase in the hallway, and Billy’s eyes widened.
“Here? During the party?” JJ giggled at his hesitation.
“Come on, I thought you said you were still big, bad Billy Hargrove,” she teased. “Steve’s gone for the night, and his bedroom is at the end of the hall. If we hurry, no one will see us leave.” Billy grinned at her tenacity. This girl was everything he always thought she was, and maybe even more.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Fuck – yes, just like that.” JJ threw her head back in bliss, palms pressed flat against the full-length mirror. Despite being in Steve’s childhood bedroom where the walls were decorated with old polaroids from his high school days and a Back to the Future movie poster, she had never felt so alive. Each nerve ending in her body was consumed by Billy’s every touch.
The lights were off, but the glow of the streetlight through the window was enough to ensure she could still watch Billy pound her from behind just the way she had secretly fantasized about for the last decade. She felt his fingertips curl around her hip bone, making small crescent-shaped imprints in her skin as his other hand tightened around the makeshift ponytail he held her disheveled hair in.
“Look at me,” Billy growled. JJ’s eyes snapped up obediently to meet his in the mirror. Even in the dark, she could tell his pupils were blown with lust, the deep blue pools no longer visible around them. Sweat glistened over his chest as his thrusts quickened and stuttered, and JJ could feel the rubber band in her core tightening, dreadfully close to snapping as she tried to stifle the moans wracking from her throat. It was just too good.
Billy’s hand left her hip and trailed up to her lips, signaling for her to open her mouth, which she obeyed. The pads of his first two fingers glided along her velvety soft tongue, gathering saliva before he brought them down to her aching clit, sliding slick circles in a perfect rhythm, eliciting a cry of pleasure she couldn’t contain in the slightest.
“Billy, please, don’t stop!” The frame of the mirror rattled shamelessly against the wall as Billy fucked into her harder and faster, everything about their encounter turning delectably wreckless when Billy realized there was no way the crowd downstairs didn’t hear what was happening.
“You gonna cum for me, baby?” His grip on her hair tightened again, pulling her gaze back up to meet his eyes right where he wanted her.
“I’m – mmm, fuck. I’m gonna cum for you, Billy. Right – right now.” JJ let out a chorus of long, low moans as her eyes rolled back and her knees gave out, held up solely by the fierce grip Billy had in her hair and the electrifying circles he was still lavishing on her clit. After nearly drowning under each tidal wave of her climax, she was totally breathless and barely able to stand.
A hand came down hard on her asscheek with a crack. Seconds later, JJ let out a pathetic whimper at the sudden emptiness as Billy pulled out and slammed her back to his chest. Standing her up and clasping a hand around her throat, he kept contact in the mirror as he growled into her ear, “Good girl.”
Thick, white ropes painted the mirror in front of them as he kissed and sucked at her neck while gravelly moans thundered from deep within his chest. JJ felt high on the adrenaline of what they had just done, her grin shining through the shadows as Billy planted a soft kiss to the side of her face, still looking into her eyes with a devious edge to his expression.
“Welcome home, Jacqueline,” Billy purred. JJ scoffed, rolling her eyes, but she didn’t protest this time. Something about him saying her name like that actually felt good.“We’d better get cleaned up and work out our story. Someone’s bound to ask after all that…percussion.” Billy chuckled as he handed JJ her dress, and the two of them straightened up, fixing each other’s flyaway hairs and creased fabric before descending back to the land of the mundane.
side a: eddie munson
side a
side b side b: steve harrington
explanation post
just going to go straight to my very very stream of consciousness commentary about each song but i want to clarify that i'm an eddie munson is dirty and gross truther and also i hate that rat man (endearing). so yes it might play into some of my thoughts
some songs are kind of vibe-y and you can tell when my explanations start getting contrived and bad but bear with me. i DO have some specific keystone songs idc KEYSTONE i love the word ok anyway
“I” Black Sabbath; eddie munson you are a LOSER with OPINIONS we get it. like yes you are so persecuted by everyone sure you’re going to prove us all wrong
“Heaven and Hell” Black Sabbath; tbh added to match with heaven/hell in the other playlist, but somehow it’s kind of giving munson doctrine to me. literally googled and supposedly it’s about like band kids (??) but i think just like “the world is full of kings and queens/who blind your eyes and steal your dreams” i can literally hear eddie munson quoting it
“Fade to Black” Metallica; UGH why are there so many long periods of silence at the beginning and end of these songs. but just adding to the eddie munson i’m so outcast bad boy drug dealer thing and like. had to have metallica
“I Don’t Wanna Be Me” Type O Negative; idk if anyone can tell that i think eddie is a big dramatic loser who thinks he’s the main character (endearing?) like I AM RIGHT…
“skins” The Haunting; okay this song is saur…. like normal people scare me i’m such a freak coded
“Nosferatu” Blue Oyster Cult; a nod to Eddie Munson being a BIG LOSER NERD. ugh whatever honestly parallels a lot of kas theory fic imo, like innocent maiden steve offering his blood to vampire eddie … why have i read it several times over. in my head, this is like. eddie munson having a dirty dirty loser fantasy about king steve
“Teenage Dirtbag” Wheatus; need I say more……….
“The Sun Always Shines on T.V.” a-ha; yeah… YEAH. it’s a steve song on here. i like tried to do this thing where on each playlist there are keystone songs and this is one of them. like, the song that’s in the other’s genre is the moment they fall in love even if they don’t realize it yet. but re: the song like it’s so eddie having this realization that when he was picturing king steve, he only saw him through snapshots and now that he’s live and an actual tangible human it’s different. like  LIKE
“18” Anarbor; tbh i am trying so hard to add some of these songs bc they are so quintessential to me and my connection of music to fandom, BUT IDK…. ITS HARD…. but yeah it’s very steve harrington would never really want to be with me, i’m such a bad boy. okay….
“Poison” Alice Cooper; eddie munson ur horny . eddie munson we’re sworn enemies like ur a jock and i’m a nerd and like could i light my cigarette with ur cock please please
“Falling In Love” Scorpions; “falling in love, it happens to me every day” okay eddie munson i did NOT see u doodling hearts around steve’s name in the fourth grade
“Around the Fur” Deftones; i do not know why but for some reason feeling like steve still hanging around his old crowd, and eddie getting all weird about it. IDK !! does it not just feel so eddie munson
“Closet” Fleshwater; an interlude-y song here kind of an angsty moment for eddie
“I Was Made For Loving You” KISS; SECOND KEYSTONE SONG…. this song signals the first time they sleep together. i am so sorry eddie munson but this music actually DOES give me migraines but i tried very hard
“Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” Deftones; eddie’s dreams about leaving hawkins and becoming famous. just in general his wishes to be somewhere he’s wanted and where he belongs. idk i feel like it’s eddie talking about all of these grand plans for his future and turning to steve and being like “and what about you?” and steve doesn’t have an answer.
“Covet” Basement; “you are everything/my most demanding dream” like like like eddie munson loving and hating that he’s in love with steve harrington who is hawkins to the bone and seems determined to die there.
“Ghosts” Scarlet House; in my head this is eddie munson angsting after seeing steve hanging around nancy wheeler or robin buckley depending on when exactly we’re setting this. but it’s very woe is me i’m lost without you. idk it could literally even just be they fought and steve is at the grocery store chilling and eddie munson is literally frothing at the mouth sobbing in his van
“Saturnine Saturnalia” VV; “there is no end to the hurting/i love you” saturnalia was a roman festival where they indulged in mischief and partying and whatnot. feeling like at this point, even if it’s fake, even if it ends up hurting me, i’ll take whatever i can get kind of feeling. maybe it’s like realizing he won’t be free of hawkins unless he lets go of steve or thinking that he’s just a stop on the way to a white picket fence. and i think that maybe this is the moment when eddie begins to realize how deeply he feels for steve.
“Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” Deftones; PLEASE LET THE MAN GET WHAT HE WANTS !!! FOR ONCE !!! he is out here every single day dealing drugs PLEASE give him a sexy passenger princess to come with him on deals
“Black Butterflies and Deja Vu” The Maine; ik it’s a jump scare but KEYSTONE SONG…. the moment when they admit they’ve fallen in love. this is their aha moment. their AHA! moment not a-ha… but yeah…. eddie munson finally being like wait i’m in love with steve harrington and idk for how long but i’m in trouble
the future holds IDK ... just this part took me this long so PLEASE spare me i literally wrote this out on my notes app
