The highly-anticipated finale in Susan Dennard's New York Times bestselling Witchlands series. Paths converge and prophecies unfold as Safi and Iseult—the legendary Cahr Awen—fight their way across the Witchlands to heal the final Origin Well. With ancient figures rising from the past, the Raider King’s armies gathering for war, and the magic at the heart of everything dying too fast, the entire world is now on the brink of collapse. But when Safi and Iseult reach the Air Well with the Bloodwitch Aeduan at their side, they discover too late that Eridysi's Lament is not the prophecy they thought it was—and their journeys are only just beginning.

You had me at werewolf 👀
Tumblr media
We’re advertising a book for readers of dark fantasy: The Hunting Moon—the highly anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller, The Luminaries—by Susan Dennard.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Winnie Wednesday has gotten everything she thought she wanted. She passed the deadly hunter trials, her family has been welcomed back into the Luminaries, and overnight, she has become a local celebrity.
The Girl Who Jumped. The Girl Who Got Bitten.
Unfortunately, it all feels wrong. For one, nobody will believe her about the new nightmare called the Whisperer that's killing hunters each night. Everyone blames the werewolf, even though Winnie is certain the wolf is innocent.
On top of that, following her dad's convoluted clues about the Dianas, their magic, and what happened in Hemlock Falls four years ago is leaving her with more questions than answers.
Then to complicate it all, there is still only one person who can help her: Jay Friday, the boy with plenty of problems all his own.
As bodies and secrets pile up around town, Winnie finds herself questioning what it means to be a true Wednesday and a true Luminary—and also where her fierce-hearted loyalties might ultimately have to lie.

Today I am reviewing The Luminaries, the YA fantasy novel by Susan Dennard. Many thanks to Susan and Daphne Press for my copy of the book, which I received via NetGalley. BLURB: Hemlock Falls isn’t like other towns. You won’t find it on a map, your phone won’t work here, and the forest outside town might just kill you… Winnie Wednesday wants nothing more than to join the Luminaries, the ancient…

★ Have you read anything by Susan Dennard yet? I have read @stdennard’s Witchlands series, aside from Witchshadow (🙈), but haven’t read anything else by her (yet!). I did however, have so much fun on Twitter in 2019, participating in the first #SoozYourOwnAdventure that grew to eventually be #TheLuminaries! And to see this book now, as this quite beautiful @illumicrate edition no less, is really something else! The whole aesthetic of this cover and book design … can I live in it? I want to live in it. Also, please jump over to @stdennard’s post today, featuring an annotated copy of Truthwitch, as it is being auctioned off to support disaster aid for victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria! The Luminaries was featured in Illumicrate’s November box and if you’re keen to add editions like this to your shelves, jump on the waistlist and use LIBRARY5 when you snag a spot! ★ HASHTAGS // #bookstagram #fantasybooks #coverlove #prettybooks #totalbooknerd #becauseofreading #bookshelf #bookboxes #bookaesthetic #myfavoritethings #quietandstill #illumicratenov2022 #illumicrate #susandennard #yabooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CoV-1PIrTQE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

the luminaries from @owlcrate is my seventh book and my current read. i'm a sims player on the side and while i'm reading this, it's making me inspired to either build the different estates and/or even write a legacy challenge based on it. needless to say, i am very much enjoying this read. though it is still fantasy, i am totally loving how modern life is weaved through the story. 📖 the luminaries by @stdennard #bookrecommendations #owlcrate #owlcratebooks #books #bookstagram #bookstagrammers #booklover #theluminaries #contemporaryfantasy #yabooks #youngadultbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/ComiVsxJ7Nm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

they would tell Winnie Wednesday EXACTLY how to win the Hunter Trials...
why are there so many posts about asexuals being immune to sirens. people. sirens don’t lure you in with sex (necessarily). they sing about whatever it is that you want most. they could sing about mothman or cinnamon toast crunch and guess what then your asexual pirate is fucking dead
