It had been several years since Scott raised a baby, and thankfully Cassie was a good first run. So long as she had help to toot, she was happy and vocal. Second time around, he was rusty. Good thing muscle memory was a thing, otherwise he would be as self-conscious as Hope was with their little bean, Oliver. Because of this, it was unanimous she would be the first to return to work, while Scott stayed home with his flexible schedule with X-CON.

One little quirk Scott was beginning to notice with his Ollie-bean, not how chubby he was for his age, or the fact he eats like he's always starving. Rather, his preferred way of sleeping. Elevated, neck supported with one hand, and his body resting on Scott's other hand and forearm almost like a hammock. Oliver would sleep through his naps in this position, good for developing his routine. Only drawback for Scott, was how stiff his arms would get afterwards. You try holding an nine-pound baby on your forearm for three hours.

Slowly falling asleep on the cushy glider Hope was gifted at their baby shower, Scott tried his best to stay awake. But he hasn't had his afternoon coffee kick, and if he broke his son's sleep cycle, he'll regret it later. Envious, of the small chunky human in his arms, sleeping peacefully in his Very Hungry Caterpillar onesie. You're lucky you're cute, he thought to himself.

Another relief, lowering the volume on their doorbell. "It's open." Scott raised his voice slightly, baby twitched a moment.

She slips back into Earth-616, turning back toward the portal opening, making sure this time, nothing followed her in. Although, it would make her life so much easier if something did follow her back into Earth 616, back where it came from. God, she wished it was that easy. Sadly, the portal opening grew smaller and smaller until it fizzled out, closing the gap between dimensions. Nothing slipped out, and stayed hidden in her world. Her eyes felt weary behind the mask.

Taking a deep exhale, Gwen turned back around and in the motion began slipping her backpack off her shoulders and dig. Grabbing onto a clear bag of burner phones, inspecting each phone before finding the one she needed. Thank god, battery's still good. Plenty to make a phone call. Jesus, what time was it here anyway? Would he even answer? What if he did? It's been a long time, maybe he doesn't have that number anymore. Before she could let anymore doubt linger, she flipped the phone open and scrolled down in contacts to find the one in question, and pressed call. The answering machine, undecided whether that was a good thing. Too late now, the tone dinged, do I want to leave a message?

BEGINNERS GUIDE TO BLUESKY

Hiya! Curious about joining bluesky but intimidated by all the features? Already on bluesky but want to learn more? Then welcome to my quick guide on getting started and navigating bluesky!~

What is Bluesky?

it’s a social media site that’s owned by no single person or company. it's aim is to bring back the early days of twitter before bots, elon musk or algorithms took over. Personally I find the site really cozy, wholesome, and engaging. my Bluesky account for example

What’s unique about Bluesky?

→ CUSTOMIZATION: ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎your timeline is very easy to control. There’s tons of options, so be sure to go through each tab in your settings. some options include: turning off autoplay, changing the order in which threaded replies show, changing DM settings, content preferences and lots of visual app settings.

→ MODERATION LISTS: human made, mass blocklists. These are public lists of accounts that when you subscribe to you automatically block or mute everyone in that specific blocklist. A great way to avoid unwanted content, and interactions. ✦ Moderation lists I recommend will be below the cut

→ STARTER PACKS: recommendation lists on who to follow, made by users. You can even curate your own starter pack of recommendations! ✦ Starter pack recommendations will be below the cut

→ FEEDS: public timelines, basically. There are a lot of feeds you can join, or you can even create your own. I made a feed featuring just my pixel art so it doesn’t get cluttered with text posts or other photos in my media tab. ✦ I’ll post feeds I recommend below and link you to a tutorial on how to create your own feed

→ BLOCKING/MUTING: bluesky has a great blocking system. When you block someone they can no longer see, or interact with you. They also have a feature to make your blog inaccessible unless logged in. you can also mute specific people, delete post replies, and even detach your post from a reblog. You can also mute specific words, phrases, tags etc.

→ NSFW: bluesky allows NSFW content, including artwork, porn, lewds etc. They also have a great moderation page to avoid the content completely, censor the content, or show it if you’d wish. ✦ just go to settings > moderation > toggle on NSFW settings and it’ll let you heavily moderate.

→ LABELS: this is a really cool feature on the site, you can subscribe to certain pages that enable a lot of fun/useful labels that help you in different ways! (like pronoun tags, artist tags etc) ✦ Labels to browse will be posted below

→ COMMUNITIES: the vastly diverse communities really feel like the best parts of tumblr. since you can so heavily curate your experience, it can really feel like a calming oasis. Mine is mostly artists, and other creatives.

there’s also a large community of professional artists, art directors, authors, celebrities, and even the best shitposters from twitter. the app really is what you make of it but it’s thriving right now.

Okay, Scott knew about the nesting period people go through during the final stages of pregnancy, Maggie went through it. Hope and he have read about it to prepare. However, seeing it in action, was completely different. He had a feeling his expectation for Hope's method of nesting wouldn't match reality. He was right. They never warn you about how- stubborn or aggressive someone can be during this period. Hope hardly rested before pregnancy, always something for her to do. Why did he think it would change when she was carrying heavy weight?

Not sure why, but Scott found himself waking up in the night. Awake, and sleeping alone in their bed. He sighed heavily before slipping his pajama pants on and a t-shirt. Heading downstairs toward where he knew his wife would be restlessly cleaning. "Babe," Scott groaned exasperated as he turned the corner. "Do you know what time it is? Please get back to bed."
