Baseline Rodimus doesn't feel safe, baseline Megatron is now his safe person, so logically he's gonna cling like hell to him (whether it's in the general "gotta be near him" sense or physically clingy)

Yes. That's exactly how they are about baseline Megs. All of them are confuddled by this course of events, SG Megatron has so many feely feels about his counterpart (which hey is a shared sentiment regarding mecha meeting theird sg/bl counterparts). Megs. I’m talking about Megs. He’s my second favorite villain of all time rn (tied with Star actually), but he is the ultimate p.o.j (piece of junk).

In fact, this issue, def makes me want to change my pfp, use the Transfixatron on Megs in his gun mode, and bury his aft in the more than 200ft deep mine shaft at the bottom of this crater fr.

Obviously it’s not deep enough but still.

Optimus, Grimlock, any Autobot—you better have tried to talk/keep Bee out of fighting like you did with Carly. Or at least, be real with him and have the “Prime told me there’d be days like this!” conversation.

Cliff and Arcee too despite us knowing damn well that they will fight no matter what.

Because, after all, at least in the US, you can join the military at 18 (or 17 with parental consent). Furthermore, it’s a sad fact of life, but many underage people fight in conflicts all over. It happens and is happening and I’m glad this has finally been (at least as far as I’ve seen and remember) explicitly acknowledged in a franchise about war.

I’m gonna try to be more organized about this but here are more things to note:

. We don’t know any Cybertronians’ official age. That’s never been a thing, because you’d have to calculate, and Hasbro ain’t doin’ that math.

. That being stated tho, based on the dialogue, Star/Ulchtar in this flashback could be anywhere from 14-19 years old in human years.

. It seems like he has some part-time job. Mood.

. This is the first time in canon I’ve seen a youngling Starscream join the Decepticons. In G1, he was an adult (former full-time scientist right?). In the WFC games, an adult. In TF One, an adult (and even older than Megs? I mean Steve Buscemi’s voice does not age fr so—).

. Kup looks significantly younger here than he does in Issue #7. That is Kup up there, right? Like middle-aged I guess? ⬆️

Ok ok ok—I really need to focus here—

. When Genvo gets blasted, he falls forward into Ulchtar’s arms. I’m no physicist, but this means he must have been shot from the back, right?

. Optimus to me seems to appear from behind Ulchtar (in the other direction).

. Optimus presumably does not hurt Ulchtar (or even notice him?), which makes sense (if he saw Ulchtar). He’s unarmed.

. Optimus doesn’t have the same gun he did in Issue #1 here, and he has no gun at all in the Energon Universe Special sh** how am I supposed to compare—

. Megs’ fusion cannon cools fast.

. Megs knows that Ulchtar has brothers (“brothers” can also refer to comrades. As in “brothers-in-arms”).

. To Genvo, it’s not a matter of “if” Jetfire and Ulchtar join. It’s “when”. He knew more than he was able to let on too.

. Megs was able to answer Ulchtar’s question…despite him asking it in a low voice to himself? And from farther away? What?

. Megs, why the hell were you smiling when you made that claim in the EUS? That was my first 🚩, I just forgot to mention it before. Don’t you care about Cybertron? What is your deal? How old are you? HOW OLD IS OPTIMUS? HOW OLD IS JETFIRE NOW??????? THEY DIDN’T AGE THE SAME DUE TO THE CRASH—Oh wait right Void Rivals.

. Like no wonder Skybound Star acts so immature and violent, and maybe even resentful of Jetfire leaving him (which explains his hostility that caught Jetfire off guard).

In G1 he acts bratty, but he’s always been portrayed as an adult, so I didn’t expect this I just thought—FRAG— 😭

. I think we can all agree here that this is still not an excuse to lash out at the innocent, so Carly still deserves to get justice/his aft (idk [insert theme about revenge here]). But also Megs. Frag Megs, like honestly (I didn’t even like TF One Megs by the end). 😒

. And this is exactly how I imagine Megs recruiting his victims followers, especially when he’s interested in particular ones (it freaking happens in my AU but anyway— 😀).

Step 1: Show up at the right moment, when they are at their lowest. Act nice, very nice, and make yourself look less intimidating, by changing into something that’s not only small, but also capable of protection. Hence, a gun (gun-tank hybrid whatever—maybe he’s a triple changer like my AU).

It’s his way of communicating that he trusts you/sees your potential, and that you better could trust him because he will protect you, and guide you, and care for you, etc.— He’s totally not luring you into a false sense of security so he could use you. 🙂🫠

Step 2: Use information you know (to get even more personal) and high emotions to your advantage.

Step 3: ?????????????

Step 4: Profit until you get what’s coming to you.

Dammit why is he so magnetic? Forget the fusion cannon, that’s the scariest thing about him people!

My overall theory:

Genvo tragically said too much. Maybe he was trying to impress and gain Megs’ favor (somebody who he already looks up to), so he mentioned their (or just Ulchtar’s) clan (part of the Cybertronian defense force? Oh boy).

They’re numerous, fliers, and most valuably of all, some are outliers (have powers). Skywarp’s teleportation. The Rainmakers’ acid. Sunstorm’s radiation. Oh, how destructive that would be in a fight…

So, he put a tracker/recorder on Genvo (with or without his knowledge), wanting to find out what the clan’s deal was. Or maybe he or Soundwave just straight up stalked them via their alt modes, I wouldn’t be surprised. Are they interested in a side? Apparently not, and for Megs that’s a problem. Let’s make them interested.

Akin to the Aligned novels, he blows their territory up, intending to blame it on the Autobots. Genvo, perhaps aware of Megs’ plan/true intentions, is merely one loose end to tie.

In the end, Genvo wasn’t special or that useful, but he made for good fridge stuffing.

Idk how Omega Supreme factors into this. Maybe Optimus did blast Genvo. Nevertheless, Megs once again proves that he is the biggest selfish douchebag who cares more about himself than Cybertron’s future (unless proven otherwise?).

And I hope Carly wins/finds happiness along with Spike. Peace out. ✌️

“I’m a bit busy fragging you!”

Starscream snarled back at you, slamming his spike into you with a ferocity you haven’t felt since the last fight you both had… so about 2 weeks ago. His grip on your hips strengthened- you were sure to have dents and paint transfers you’d need to fix after this, but that wasn’t anything new.

Every thrust caused the table to scoot over the floor, the screech joining the cacophony of wet slaps, metallic clangs, fans, curses and grunts. You glared at Starscream, biting your glossa to keep yourself from moaning.

Primus, you hate him. Despised him. This was, what- the second, no, third time he openly flirted with another bot? Stupid Screamer, barely able to keep his optics off of someone else's aft. So obvious about it until he gets called out, then it’s, no you’re imagining things.

You could do way better. Someone way more trusting, more friendly, more worthy. All your friends told you this every time you both fought. Pits, you knew you could do better. But it always ended like this, after every fight or break up, with you being-

“What did I say about zoning off or thinking about anything but this frag!?”

Starscream’s screeching voice and a particularly hard, delicious thrust brought you out of your angry thoughts with a loud wanton moan. You shut your mouth tight when you see Starscream smirk triumphantly. Scowling, you venomously berate him.

“Maybe if you fragged like that more often I would be so- frag - so pissed-!”

A dark look crossed over Starscream’s red optics. Sneering, he pulled out of you and pushed you down by your legs, a loud whine ripping from your vocalizer. You were now laying on the table, your knees on either side of your head. You looked at Starscream’s face, he had the most… Starscream-iest smirk you had ever seen. There was no way to describe it. It promised something immense.

“Fine then!”

Before you could respond- yell, call him a glitch, a fragger or any other insult, he began to piston into you with fever. It left you stunned, your vents hitching for a brief nanoklik before they whirled to life on full. Your optics flickered, the sudden pleasure of you valve being so roughly treated, like you were nothing more than a common two bit piece of shareware on Velocitron-

“Oh frag! Yes, yes!”

You couldn’t help yourself, throwing your helm back and you glossa rolling out of your intake- you bet you were a very pretty picture for Starscream. He might have been recording you, and you couldn't bring yourself to care. Starscream looked so pleased with himself when he saw your face twist in pleasure.

“Tch! Look at you- so easily tamed!”

You moaned at Starscream’s insulting words, tears beginning to form in the corner of your optics. Letting go of one of your legs, he moved his servo down to your valve, pinching your anterior node. Squealing in pleasure, you began to beg.

“D-don’t stop! For Primus’ sake, don’t stop-!”

You were close- so close. Perhaps arguing was a form of foreplay for the two of you. It certainly got you going. He continued to thrust into you, chirping in Vosian. Almost growling- you were too busy thinking about how good it felt for his spike to ram against your ceiling node, the way he pulled and rubbed at your anterior node to care about what he was saying.

Primus, it felt too good.

“St-star, I’m- I’m close!”

You moaned out, ex-venting heavily. Starscream smirked- it should be illegal for anyone to look that good smirking, especially in such a smug way. You callipers worked feverishly on Starscream’s spike, each thrust of his lighting up your valve sensors and bringing you closer and closer to the edge. Starscream sneered, his denta glinting in the dim lighting.

“Go on- overload for me! Show me how you really feel!”

With a cry, you came undone. Overloading so intensely you optics went offline, your frame shuddered and vented heavily with each wave of pleasure washing over you, your transfluid squirting onto his modesty plating and spike. Starscream never stopped fragging you, his pace however became frantic and uneven, he too was reaching his end.

“Fr-frag!”

He pulled out and overloaded over your abdomen and chassis with a loud groan, coolant dripping down his face. Glowing pink transfluid streaked across your chassis and abdomen. God, his beautiful, beautiful face- the picture of perfection, especially when he’s coming down from an intense sex high and-

And you scoffed, disgusted. Your optics came online and you glared at the venting seeker.

“You fragging glitch- you know your transfluid ruins my finish!”

Wordlessly Starscream bends down and grabs your face, softly taking your derma into his own. You didn’t fight back, you brought your arms around his neck, keeping him there as you moved your derma against his. It was the softest thing he had done all week. It made you feel like your spark was melting and bursting at the same time, your tank felt like it was full of robotterflies.

All too soon however, he pulled away from you, your arms gently falling to your sides. Maybe you were too spike drunk, but the way he looked at you right now almost seemed affectionate. Loving, even. He pulled a cleaning rag from his subspace and began to wipe his transfluid off of both of you without a word.

“... I’m still mad at you.”

You mumbled, looking away. Starscream smirked, his optics becoming a dim red. He moves his servo down your chassis to your valve once more, languidly circling your anterior node with his thumb. His voice is low and sultry as you gasp and moan.

“I know how to make it up to you.”

Recently I read Transformers: Skybound FINALLy!!! it was fantastic, cant wait for the next issue

Highly recommend reading it tho, its a greattt comic and has super awesome art

Everyone's already talked about this but wow Optimus is portrayed so well!!! I love the dialogue when he describes Cybertron. Also love the pink backgrounds i some panels!! Anyway the interaction with him and Spike feels good and authentic. nice

The fight scenes. SO good to me, I think the art is super dynamic and the way the sound effects are written give great impact. The artist knew what they were doing for sure. I love how they use the comic media to its fullest. With those different shaped slanted box panels, and the smear lines when somethings moving fast idk

I also looove the shading in these comics!! and the linework like on their faces really helps the atmosphere. once again i love the sound effects (especially that big TONG) when starscream gets hit lol it just looks like all the fonts were designed or drawn by the artists yk?? and the variety of camera angles throughout is cool too.

Also love the relationship between optimus and the humans. It feels... better than how other transformers media has handled it (imo). I think its sweet

again great comic art the lighting.. the EVERYTHING idk i just admire this artist a lot (i think his name is daniel warren johnson, although it switches to Jorge Corona later) one thing i love in particular is how the lines are like... a little messy and sometimes a little all over the place-to depict their wear and grime. cool!

Next. Cant talk about skybound without talkingabout THE DECEPTICONS. oh my god. starscream is a spawn of hell. what a bitch. like actually he might be at his worst here hes so diabolical. Anyway even though hes very evil hes still enjoyable to watch because its just idk pure villain. Soundwaves care for his cassettes is sweet as usual. PUNTING Ravage is crazy. cannibalizing Skywarp is crazy. FGELP IDEK WHAT TO SAY except i like the art a lot here as usual its great very comic-y again. SOundwave stays a favorite character.

THIS is an iconic and great moment of skybound, i love it, i lvoe that optimus is willing to use this cannon to further the battle yk also looks badass

anyway yes ik i barely talked about any faults of the comic, im trying to be super open and see it with like no bias or comparing it to other comics and stuff. personally i like it a lot. the humans arent even dislikable imo. the characters are nice. one thing is that MAN a lot of characters are dying. kinda sad. no ratchet is crazy. also when will megatron awaken? and how?
