The First Day

I've wanted to start a blog for a while, I'm just petrified of being perceived. So if you're reading this, kindly leave. This is blog is going to document my experience starting ADHD meds, this is Day 1 of Vyvanse. To be honest I didn't notice a drastic change in myself. No palpitations or muscle cramps.

I also want to document my journey as a Game Master for my play group. We just wrapped up Dragon Heist, my second time playing through it. It continues to be a great little module that can really encourage players to engage with their characters, their party members and Waterdeep.

I've wanted to play a game set in Stargate and that's what I plan to do with this opportunity to GM again. I have really fond memories growing up, of watching the show with my father and older sibling. Being older now I can recognise the very obvious problems the show has when it comes to racism, sexism, and how close the show worked with the US Military. But I still like the general premise of the show, a weekly "monster" that a team of soldiers and scientists overcome to save people and advance a war against tyrannical or otherwise genocidal despots.

My friend suggested that Monster of the Week be a good system for playing such a campaign. It has a good framework for general and specific actions that the players can take which allows for lots of improvisation and role play. It also encourages connections between the player characters that a procedural like Stargate needs to get going. The only problem I might encounter is Monster of the Week is geared towards the supernatural procedurals like Buffy and Supernatural, so some modifications might be needed, especially if I can't find a technology based class for the scientist or hacker types.

I've started to read the rulebook and collected the expansion books. So far I'm really encouraged by what I'm reading. I like how customisation is encouraged through the selection of Chosen Moves.

First and easiest thing for me to do to customise the game for Monster of the Week is to simply ad in the Zat Guns and Staff Weapons as options for the player to take. While I was thinking about this I was worrying about how to convert supernatural Moves to be more tech focussed.

I was also thinking about all the things I will need to tell my players in our Session 0 as I don't think any of them are particularly familiar with the show. I managed to distract myself making a list of all these things while reading the about different Hunters. And I couldn't help myself, I fell down a wiki rabbit hole re-familiarising myself with stats like the 1.987,690,320 possible gate addresses, the various factions, allies, and enemies. What I've realised is that the kinds of Supernatural abilities that the Hunters that I've read so far don't need to be re-skinned for Stargate. There's a suprising amount of the supernatural in Stargate, not least of which is just calling any advanced tech magical but The Wraith are straight up psychic and I completely forgot. They also "feed of a person's life force" without the show defining that in any scientific terms.

If something comes up that a player wants to do as magical, they don't need a gadget that does that thing. That player could be on their way to Ascension, a thing that's shown to allow people to do crazy shit like telekinesis and weather manipulation. The show does have a low number of aliens, but if there's something specific that a player has their heart set on, that could be a quirk of that species, even if it's a Human variant. The Show also has Human/Alien hybrids like Teyla and Ford.

As I've been writing this I've started a re-watch of SG1 and I'll probably continue through to Atlantis and Universe again. I've also downloaded Obsidian to use as a note taking instead of my phone's notes app.

I'm going top familiarise myself with it as I transfer my notes from my phone over there and stay up way too late expanding them. I hope I manage to find some restraint so that I don't just end up taking all the time in Session 0 gushing about the show, its cosmology and plots. I also plan on linking everyone to Ladyknightthebrave's excellent retrospective on SG1

Yeah I know I can't research him on Tumblr but I have you and am lazy to find someone else who writes so well.

So! I was thinking about enemies to lovers BUT Bones and the reader are not enemies enemies, it's the Enterprise and another spaceship. And one day, the captains have to do a ceasefire and work together. A lot of tension between both crews. McCoy is McCoy but when it's about a job nothing can interfere and change the fact he's the best of the best. Weeks, months go by and Bones and the reader are still working in the same room and one day a friend of the reader die and they are the only one who can investigate.

And then love?

I mixed the last season of "Stargate Univers" and the first episode of season three of "CSI: Miami"

I was thinking about Bones who fell in love with the reader but they don't live in the same year's zone (yeah I'm maso and now this idea reminds me of a movie with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves)

I'm absolutely terrible at emotional hurt/comfort lol (at least I think so) but it's an idea I'd be willing to explore. definitely something I want to get into more as the self-proclaimed ceo of hurt/comfort lmao

oo and then angst like "but I have to go back to my own time" sort of thing. it'd be cool for the reader to be from the past (maybe our time, even) and just be really fascinated with all the new tech in the future. maybe they're really into that in their time, and they catch on really quick and end up working for the enterprise and everything yknow. this is such a good slow burn series idea oh my god

I keep thinking about how like…. Being an astronaut on the space station in the Stargate universe must be really fucking shitty.

I mean talk about a raw deal! You’re up there in your bulky suit in cramped quarters painstakingly growing space lettuce just to sell a lie. You look out the window and you see those assholes from SGC zoom by with their cool little spaceships and meeting aliens and shit and you can’t tell anyone about it! You answer phone calls from little kids and you have to lie!

J’ai hésité entre Star Trek et Stargate puis finalement, Stargate a pris le dessus. J’ai tenté un style totalement à l’opposé de ce que je peux faire habituellement et j’ai conscience que la fusion du milieu laisse à désirer malgré mes efforts. 

I hesitated between Star Trek and Stargate and finally Stargate took over. I tried a style totally opposite to what I can usually do and I am aware that the fusion of the middle leaves something to be desired despite my efforts.

Vi ricorderete sicuramente dello scoop del “The New York Times” dei   22 milioni di $ spesi per “L’Advanced Identospace Threat Identification Program” poi declassificato dal  Pentagono, ebbene non  avrebbe cercato  UAP/UFO: Ultimamente è stato declassificato è pubblicato in base alle normative della Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) e su esplicita richiesta di Steven Aftergood, direttore del Progetto sulla segretezza del governo della Federazione degli scienziati americani, 38 articoli di particolare ricerche qui pubblicati

Roba strana per scienziati come Steven Aftergood, che al motherboard ha dichiarato : «Penso che chiunque guardi questi titoli si grattasse la testa e si chiedesse su cosa stesse pensando la Defense Intelligence Agency”,”Questi sono i tipi di argomenti che persegui quando hai più denaro di quello che sai con cosa fare»

Dobbiamo quindi intendere che per Aftergood sono soldi spesi male  in quanto finanziavano ricerche psudoscientifiche

Da questa nuova puntata possiamo ricavare due possibile ed alternativi giudizi sul  Identospace Threat Identification Program, sebbene ho reputato che sia stato qualcosa di fondamentale per la ricerca

E’ una mega stupidaggine che serviva per consumare soldi cui non si sapeva cosa farne ed evitare di farli ritornare indietro 

Si sta tentando piano, piano di Debunkare questo evento portando l’opinione pubblica a considerarlo solo un comico spreco di denaro 

Io penso che tutto quello che è successo dopo le rilevazioni del The new York Times abbia prodotto solo un mega circo mediatico che nulla a che fare con l’Ufologia, certo che chi ha investito in DeLonge ed Elizondo come Ricerca ufologia Futura , penso che debba essere pronto ad una nuova sconfitta…ritorniamoli a chiamare UFO, che dite?

Critique#5 : Deadpool 2

ATTENTION !!!! Cette critique est a prendre au 1.000 ème degrés !!!

Vous comprendrez qu'au vu du caractère particulier du personnage principal du film, la rédaction a décidé d'abandonner son style habituelle au profit d'un style un peu plus absurde, ironique et sarcastique (à l'image du héros du jour). Bonne Lecture !

J'ai enfin regardé Deadpool 2 ! Au vu de mon activité sur Tumblr et du succès du film auprès du public, j'étais obligé d'en parler... Et j'ai horreur de me sentir obligé de faire quelque chose.

Sortie le 15 Mai 2018 (oui, j'ai mis un mois pour regarder Deadppool 2 et non, je n'ai pas écris d'article sur Avengers : Infinity War parce qu'à part dire : "Putain, c'était trop bien !" je ne savais pas quoi dire sur le sujet)... Donc sortie le 15 mai 2018, ce film est produit la 20th Century Fox (et je crois bien que c'est le premier article que je consacre à un film de la Fox sur ce Blog) et réalisé par David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, co-réal de John Wick).

Les films Deadpool sont dans la continuité de films à l'humour décalé qui entache violemment l'image et la réputation des Super-Héros classiques. Des films comme : Howard the Duck (que je ne vous conseille pas), Superhero Movie de Craig Mazin (réalisateur et scénariste de Scary Movie 3 et 4), Super de James Gunn (Guardians of Galaxy vol.1 et 2), les Kick-Ass ou encore le film finlandais Rendel (qui est un mélange entre Sin City et V for Vendetta). Et quand je dis que ce sont des films qui tâchent, ce ne sont pas vraiment le genre que vous pouvez faire disparaître à la lessive Ajax. Vous avez pigé? Ajax comme le mec dans le premier Deadp...

Ok, je vais laisser tomber l'humour "méta" quelques secondes le temps que vous compreniez la blague.

Le Casting est composé de Ryan Reynolds pour le rôle principal. Il est aussi co-producteur et co-scénariste du film. M.Reynolds est connu pour avoir joué dans de nombreuses comédies romantiques américaine (il a longtemps porté une image de "Lovers" dont il essaye clairement de se détacher avec le personnage de Deadpool) et pour avoir participé au massacre cinématographique de l'un de mes héros préférés : Green Lantern.

Le premier rôle féminin est tenu par Morena Baccarin qui joue la petite amie du héros (et apparaît à peu près 15 à 20 minutes à l'écran). Vous avez déjà dû voir cette actrice à la télé puisqu'elle a joué dans Firefly, How i met your mother, Stargate SG-1, le remake de V (2009-2011), Homeland (Saison 1-2-3) et c'est l'une des actrices principales de la série Gotham depuis 2015. Morena Baccarin a prêter sa voix à plusieurs "Femme Fatales" de l'univers DC Comics pour des séries et films des studios Warner Bros Animations. Black Canary dans Justice League Unlimited; Talia As Ghul dans Son of Batman et Bad Blood; Cheetah dans Batman : the Brave and the Bold et l'intelligence artificielle Gideon lors de la première saison de The Flash sur la chaîne CW.

Cable, "l'antagoniste" principale du film Deadpool 2, est incarné par Josh Brolin. L'acteur est parfait pour tenir le rôle de Soldat-Mutant-Cyborg venue du futur puisqu'il a incarné de nombreuses fois au cinéma des rôles de policier dur-à-cuir ou de cowboy solitaire (Gangster Squad, American Gangster, Jonah Hex, Sin City 2 : A Dame to Kill For, True Grit, Men in Black 3, No Country for Old Men). Josh Brolin est tellement charismatique que l'on pourrait mettre sa photo à côté de la définition de Bad-Ass dans le dico. Cerise sur le gâteau Josh Brolin prête sa voie à l'alien Thanos le Titan Fou dans la saga des films Avengers.

Quatrième et dernier rôle important de Deadpool 2 : Zazie Beetz. Elle interprête la mutante Domino qui a le pouvoir de jouer avec la chance. Zazie est a l'image du reste des rôles secondaires du casting : une bande de parfaits inconnus aux carrières nébuleuses dont je me fiche complètement.

La Réalisation et la Bande-Son :

Pas de thème particulier que je peux rattacher à "l'Anti-Héros". La bande son ne m'a pas marqué. Pas plus que le réalisation. Ce n'est pas "mauvais" mais je n'ai rien noté de véritablement original.

Et maintenant... Les Fans :

"Vous qui arrivez ici, abandonnez tout espoir !". Alors je vais être clair, si vous êtes un(e) fan de Deadpool, je vais vous faire passer un très mauvais moment (et je vous avoue que c'est pour cet instant délectable que j'ai voulu écrire cet article ^^). Soyons honnête, j'ai beau être un passionné de comics, je n'aime pas Deadpool... Enfin, je n'aime pas ce qu'il est devenu. Ce que j'aime lorsque je me plonge dans une fiction, ce qu'il y a de plus important pour moi, c'est : La Cohérence Scénaristique. Et le Mercenaire Mutant n'est bon qu'à foutre le bordel. Mais je dois reconnaître qu'il le fait magistralement bien.

Voici les arguments des Fans de Deadpool que j'entends bien trop souvent (et que je vais me faire un plaisir de torpiller) :

#1 : "J'aime trop Deadpool, c'est le seul personnage à savoir qu'il est dans une œuvre de fiction et qui brise le 4ème mur. C'est méta et au moins, c'est original !"

Et c'est parti pour le premier Round ! Alors pour ce qui est de "briser le quatrième mur", dans le domaine du cinéma Alfred Hitchock faisait déjà cela au début de ses films en s'adressant aux spectateurs afin d'intensifier chez nous la tension de l'histoire qu'il nous présentait. La filmographie d'Alfred Hitchock s'étend des années 40 à la fin des années 60. Ce concept a été repris par la célèbre série télé de science-fiction : La Quatrième Dimension (The Twilight Zone en Version Originale) durant les années 60. Quatrième Dimension, Quatrième Mur... Vous arrivez à faire le lien?

De plus, les Cartoons tel que Bugs Bunny (des studio Warner Bros) ou Droopy the Dog (de Tex Avery) utilisent souvent se mécanisme, depuis plusieurs décennies. Cela rajoute une couche d'absurdité à leurs univers folkloriques. Ainsi, ils dédramatisent toutes les situations qu'ils rencontrent. Ce n'est pas grave si ils se font tirer dessus ou font péter le décor avec des tonnes de dynamites parce que ce sont des Cartoons. Ils seront encore présent la semaine prochaine.

Et c'est tout le problème avec Deadpool. Entre la pratique du "brisage du 4ème mur" et son pouvoir de guérison qui le rend quasiment immortel, rien ne peut l'atteindre et donc rien n'est grave. Et on ne peut pas s'attacher à un personnage pour qui rien n'a d'importance.

#2 : "Non mais quand je dis original, c'est pour un personnage de comics adaptés au cinéma..."

Faux ! Nul ! Zéro ! Vous êtes récalé !

Il y a des séries de comics qui reposent uniquement sur ce principe. Howard the Duck et une mini-série sur le Joker durant les années 70, Miss Hulk (ou She Hulk en VO) par John Byrne durant la fin des années 80 et début 90. Sans oublier The Mask durant les années 90 et qui a été adapté au cinéma avec Jim Carrey en 1994.

#3 : "Ben... au moins, il y a un humour décalé et plus adultes que les autres films de Super-héros. Il y a des blagues de cul et plus de sang."

Aaah, les goûts et les couleurs...

Personnellement l'humour américano-potache basé sur le vomi, le sang et tout autre liquide qui peut sortir du corps humain ne m'ont jamais fait spécialement rire. Même lorsque j'étais adolescent, les films comme American Pie et Scary Movie n'avaient pas trop d'effet sur moi. Mais bon comme je le disais : les goûts et les couleurs, c'est un peu comme la capacité de notre cerveau à évoluer, c'est quelque chose de très personnel.

En dehors des blagues pour pré-pubères décérébrés, Deadpool fait tout un tas de blague en références aux autres films de Super-héros. Que ce soit les personnages du DC Universe (Batman, Wonder Woman et la Justice League) produit par Warner Bros; Les héros de la Saga Avengers du MCU (The Winter Soldier, Punisher, Thanos et Black Panther) produit par Disney; ou les X-men et autres mutants produit par la 20th Centery Fox elle-même. C'est là que nous arrivons à la dimension "méta" du personnage. C'est un mécanisme à double tranchant : soit vous suivez, de près ou de loin, les Blockbusters de Super-héros qui sortent tout les mois et vous pouvez comprendre toutes les références (les considérer comme étant drôle, ou pas , reste à l'appréciation de chacun). Soit vous n'en regardez pas, ou rarement, et toutes ces blagues vont vous passer au-dessus de la tête. Et vous perdez un tiers du côté humoristique du film.

Je vais mettre la "Machine-à-Baffe" en pause quelques secondes pour vous expliquer pourquoi Deadpool n'apparaîtra pas dans les films les Avengers et autres long métrages du Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Oui parce qu’au cas où vous ne le sauriez pas, en Décembre 2017, Disney a racheter la 20th Centery Fox et ainsi a récupéré les droits d'exploitations des Super-héros Marvel que la Fox détenait jusqu'à présent (Fantastic Four, les X-men et... Deadpool). Beaucoup de fans ont commencé(e)s à fantasmer sur l'arrivée des Héros de la Fox dans le MCU. Pour les Fantastic Four et X-men, je pense que l'insertion peut se faire sans problèmes et ça apportera un peu de "sang neuf" au MCU. Mais Deadpool : Non !

Le concept même personnage repose sur le fait qu'il se moque de tout (et surtout de tous les autres films). En le mettant au milieu des autres héros Marvel, il perdrait sa dimension "méta", si chère au fans, et briserai la dimension "épique" que les films Avengers s'échinent à construire depuis 10 ans. Personnes n'y sera gagnant. C'est une mauvaise idée. Laissez tomber !

Allez, c'est reparti pour le dernier Round.

#4 : "C'est toi, le sale Fanboy ! Avec Deadpool, on a pas besoin d'avoir vu 16 autres films pour comprendre le scénario..."

Le Scénario?! Quel scénario ?! De quoi tu me parle ?!!

Il n'y pas de scénario. Le premier film repose sur "Je vais sauver ma petite amie qui s'est fait kidnapper par les méchants". Traduction tout repose sur le très classique (et très essouflé) concept de "Sauver la Demoiselle en Détresse". Vachement original pour un soi-disant Anti-héros qui brise les normes !!

Quand à ce deuxième film, la première du long métrage consiste à faire du "Terminator" (le héros doit protéger un ado pourchasser par un homme-robot venue du Futur pour le tuer). Et la deuxième partie, c'est la Prélogie de Star Wars : Deadpool va essayer de ramener l'adolescent en colère vers le "côté lumineux de la force". FireFist n'est rien d'autres qu'un Anakin Skywalker du pauvre !!

Tu trouves toujours que Deadpool est génial, novateur et provoc' ?! Sérieusement ?!!

La cloche retentit. Après 4 Round menés d'une main de maître, Peter Baker gagne cette rencontre par KO Technique. L'adolescent enjoué fraîchement sorti de la salle de cinéma, qui lui a servi de Punching-ball, est actuellement en dépression nerveuse pour une durée indéterminé.

En Résumé :

Avant de rentrée dans la salle, veuillez laisser votre cerveau à l'entrée. Deadpool 2 est un Blockbuster qui enchaîne scènes d'actions et situations grotesques, en vous les balaçant en pleine poire de façon quasi-ininterrompue pendant deux heures et où le scénario n'a aucune forme d'importance (si ce n'est de donner l’occasion au héros de montrer à quel point il est timbré). Ce qui fait de que Deadpool 2, en tant qu’œuvre de divertissement, est une... Parfaite Réussite !

Vous ne l'avez pas vu venir celle-là ;)

C'est le propre du cinéma de divertissement que de nous faire vivre un tour de grand-huit. Il est là pour nous provoquer des sensations fortes, quelques petites montée d'adrénaline et des fous-rires plus ou moins retenus. Et c'est tout ce qu'on lui demande. Après tout, c'est l'été alors pourquoi se prendre la tête?
