The ninth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States is finally receding, with estimated daily new infections based on wastewater data now standing at 669,000 per day, down from the August peaks of over 1.3 million. However, experts predict that the tenth wave will begin in late fall and continue through the winter holidays, as has taken place every year of the pandemic so far.

With one in 70 individuals currently infectious, the risk of coming into contact with someone in a classroom, work, or dining at a local facility with 25 to 50 people is considerable. And despite the relative lull in cases, there is more COVID-19 transmission now than during 56.1 percent of the pandemic. In other words, the “forever COVID” policy essentially means that COVID is now everywhere all the time.

Under these conditions, forced upon society by the capitalist ruling class, repeat infections act like a battering ram, taking a growing toll on the foundation of everyone’s overall wellbeing. There is a growing body of evidence that each hit weakens the organ systems, aging them biologically beyond the person’s stated age until sufficient injury begins to manifest in physically measurable symptoms.

At present, more than one billion cumulative COVID infections have occurred in the US, at a rate of around one per year per person, with somewhere between 3-4 infections on average among the entire population. Estimates place the number of Long COVID cases at over 410 million globally in just the first four years of the pandemic, while excess deaths are nearing 30 million.

Clearly, the pandemic is ongoing and remains a significant health risk for the global population. The criminality of the “forever COVID” policy is highlighted by the fact that virtually no funding is allocated to the development of next-generation mucosal vaccines, improved treatments during the acute phase of infection, or any treatments for Long COVID patients. While trillions are squandered on war and bank bailouts for the rich, nothing is provided for critical life-saving research.

Last week, results from the first clinical trial of a mucosal vaccine were released, showing remarkable levels of efficacy after a second dose.

The important study published by Chinese investigators demonstrated that an intranasally administered anti-COVID vaccine can induce robust mucosal immunity against the coronavirus in human subjects (128 healthcare workers). The study found that the vaccine provided substantial immune protection against COVID while demonstrating safety and tolerance.

Esteemed clinical researcher Dr. Eric Topol wrote on Twitter/X, “[two] doses of a COVID nasal vaccine spray led to more than a 50-fold increase in spike specific secretory IgA antibodies against 10 strains of SARS-CoV-2, indicative of potent mucosal immunity.” Furthermore, Topol added, “At least 86.2 percent of participants who completed two nasal vaccines doses maintained uninfected status, likely without even asymptomatic infection, for at least three months.”

Emergency room physician and indoor air quality proponent, Dr. Kashif Pirzada, replied, “This could potentially give a real ending to the pandemic. No more waves of illness, no more rushing for tests and antivirals if you’re elderly or vulnerable. Hope this comes out soon!”

However, large Phase 3 clinical trials are costly, requiring multiple participants to obtain statistically relevant information on clinical endpoints, not to speak of the research and development investment to identify a therapeutic that can be tested. Thus, under capitalism, there is virtually no investment in these large-scale trials and nothing is being done beyond offering boosters of the current vaccine, despite their greatly reduced efficacy in preventing transmission.

The mucosal vaccine study was conducted just as Chinese officials acquiesced to the demands of the imperialist powers to abandon their life-saving Zero-COVID public health program, resulting in the infection of virtually the entire population and the deaths of 1-2 million people. What could such a vaccine have meant to these millions that perished needlessly and the millions more globally since then?

This raises the broader question of why the international community, facing a devastating pandemic, could not bring its accumulated scientific bodies to address the need to develop a preventative treatment against COVID?

As a trigger event in world history, the COVID-19 pandemic has only accelerated and exposed the deep-seated contradictions in global capitalism, which demands the accumulation of profits at any costs. The ruling class has nothing but contempt for workers, refusing to invest in any social programs that can improve the lives of masses of people. Short sightedness, corruption, mistrust, and suspicion epitomize their actions, which are rapidly progressing to a world conflagration carrying the danger of nuclear war.

Simply put, the ruling class cares not one iota about mucosal vaccines, just as they harbor resentment against any public health policy that infringes on their ability to conduct business.

Refusing to invest in these life-saving technologies, the capitalist ruling class has condemned humanity to face a lifetime of reinfections with COVID-19. What are the implications of this criminal policy?

Multiple previous studies have highlighted the dangers posed by reinfections with SARS-CoV-2. A recent study uploaded as a pre-print publication on Research Square (under review with the journal Nature Portfolio) by the Patient-Led Collaborative has once again found similar results when attempting to characterize the association between reinfections and the chronic debilitating condition known as Long COVID.

Among 3,382 participants (22 percent never had COVID, 42 percent with one prior infection and 35 percent with two or more infections), the risk of Long COVID was 2.14 times more likely among those with two COVID infections and 3.75 times more likely among those who had three or more COVID Infections compared to just one. Limitations in physical functioning measured in their study included ability to dress, bathe, perform moderate activities like vacuuming and functioning socially. Reinfections led to poorer overall health and worse immune health, including more severe outcomes and longer recovery from other infections.

As the authors wrote:

"Relative to those who did not report infections or experienced COVID-19 once, reinfections were associated with increased likelihood of severe fatigue, post-exertional malaise, decreased physical function, poorer immune health, symptom exacerbation before menstruation, and multiple other Long COVID symptoms. While vaccinations and boosters prior to infection are associated with lower likelihood of Long COVID, reinfections diminish their protective effect. The probability of reporting Long COVID remission is generally low (11.5 percent to 6.5 percent."

Another interesting finding of the study, which underscores the complete abandonment of public health efforts regarding COVID, is that a tiny number of those infected were prescribed antivirals during their acute COVID infections. Those with reinfections were also less likely to test, as the “forever COVID” policy has inured people from taking any protective measures to prevent infections.

The current alphabet soup of COVID strains is sees KP.3.1.1 dominate across the US and Europe, accounting for nearly 60 percent of all strains. However, a new variant known as XEC that was first detected in Germany in June has spread to more than 27 countries and accounts for six percent of all recently sequenced SARS-CoV-2 viruses in the US. Virologists expect this strain, derived from JN.1 through a complex recombination event and which has nearly twice the growth advantage, to overtake KP.3.1.1 and be the dominant variant during the winter season.

In a COVID update by TACT [Together Against COVID Transmission], the authors explain the dangers posed by these evolutionary developments of the SARS-CoV-2 viruses, writing:

"These variants can evade much of the immune responses from both vaccines and recent infections. Since they can evade antibodies to earlier variants, then that raises the risk of organ damage, vascular and neurological dysfunction, brain damage, and persistent infections which often leads to Long COVID. The unmitigated spread is raising concerns about their impact in the coming months."

Hospitalization rates for those 65 years and older and children were one of the highest during the summer from COVID and remain on par with the prior year’s summer/fall wave. The number of people that died from COVID In the week ending August 31, 2024, has climbed to 1,239, four times higher than the lows seen in June. At the present rate, it is expected that at least 60,000 people will officially lose their lives from acute COVID this year, not including deaths incorrectly attributed to another cause or due to the impact on the population’s health from accumulated infections.

These are not incidental and speculative issues. In a provocative report released by the Swiss Re Group, titled “The future of excess mortality after COVID-19,” one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance and insurance, who specialize in financing the risk of death, they said, “[If] the ongoing impact of the disease is not curtailed, excess mortality rates in the general population may remain up to three percent higher then pre-pandemic levels in the US and 2.5 percent in the UK by 2033.”

They advised their investors:

"Based on current medical trends and expected advancements, we conclude that COVID-19 is still driving excess mortality both directly and indirectly. In the long term, lifestyle factors that contribute to poor metabolic health and lead to obesity and diabetes may become another compounding factor in population excess mortality. Insurers may wish to continue to monitor excess mortality and its underlying drivers in the general population closely, as well as the differences between general and insured populations."

Hundreds of US students returning to college this fall will be focused on navigating academic suspensions and criminal charges instead of choosing their classes and decorating dorm rooms, following last semester’s Gaza solidarity encampment protests that swept campuses. More than 3,000 students were arrested when tent protests and occupations from coast to coast, at public and private universities, were broken up by police. Many still face consequences from both their universities and the legal system. Craig Birckhead-Morton, a recent Yale graduate and incoming Columbia graduate student, has been traveling between his new home in New York City and New Haven, Connecticut, to face criminal proceedings in superior court. “I was able to get through the whole disciplinary process all right, so there are no disciplinary charges left or anything in terms of academic [punishments]. It’s just the legal charges, which we’re still having an issue with,” Birckhead-Morton, 21, said of fellow students and himself.

Months of US protests, since the 7 October Hamas-led attack on southern Israel and Israel’s devastating and ongoing retaliation in Gaza, evolved into spring encampments when Columbia University students pitched tents on the Ivy League school’s main lawn in New York City and then occupied a building. This action and many others were met with police crackdowns, some violent, against scenes of campus dissent not seen since the Vietnam war. Meanwhile, some university administrations have taken additional steps to handle the volume of disciplinary cases, such as hiring outside consultants and implementing new policies in an attempt to prevent protests of the same scale.

Despite this, activists are planning a fresh wave of pro-Palestinian protests at US colleges this fall. Action is expected to be boosted by “summer school” online lessons over the break, created by student protest leaders to offer education and training on how to organize, with the aim of creating a more unified and better-prepared mass demonstration movement. Birckhead-Morton said he remained determined to keep advocating for divestment. “Obviously we want the charges to go away, but our movement, our organizing, our action around this issue isn’t going to go away, and we’re going to keep pushing against these institutions,” he said. Columbia students who declined to share their names publicly, for fear of doxxing and retaliation, said that while their charges had been dropped by Manhattan prosecutors, they were still dealing with university administration disciplinary proceedings.

One student said she was being investigated by Grand River Solutions, a third-party higher education consultancy group based in Saratoga, California, brought in to conduct investigatory interviews via Zoom with protesters. “We’re in limbo for the most part. The university has chosen to waste time and money this summer doubling down on their efforts to be a world-renowned ‘cop university’,” she said, referring to multiple instances of New York police being called on to campus and arresting students en masse. Grand River Solutions did not respond to a request for comment. A list of punitive actions Columbia’s leadership took under Minouche Shafik, the recently departed president, against student protesters, shared by the university with the congressional education and workforce committee in the Republican-controlled House, has been made public. It reveals that most student protesters are currently listed as being in good standing with their institutions, meaning they can continue their educations, even though they may have received disciplinary probations or suspensions. Many investigations are ongoing.

College students across the US that were arrested in protests against the Gaza Genocide last school year are facing academic and legal woes. Pro-Palestine college protests are expected to resume in the fall with students returning.

KENYA AT A POLITICAL CROSSROADS: NAVIGATING TRIBALISM, GENDER IMBALANCE, AND THE BOLD VOICE OF GEN Z

Kenya stands at a pivotal juncture in its political evolution, as a profound generational shift challenge entrenched power structures, unmasking the deep-seated issues of tribalism, gender inequality, and political hypocrisy. At the core of this transformation lies a younger, reform-driven cohort determined to hold the ruling elite accountable, demand transparency, and dismantle the barriers that have long hindered equitable progress. The future of Kenyan politics hinges on this emerging generation, which brings both a renewed sense of urgency and a commitment to redefining the nation's political norms. This moment, marked by widespread public dissatisfaction and unprecedented activism, signals a watershed in the country’s democratic journey.

Political Hypocrisy and Public Dissatisfaction

The Kenyan political landscape has long been marred by a palpable disconnect between political promises and the lived realities of ordinary citizens. This gulf has been most evident in the cynical disregard for public welfare by the political establishment. The experience of leaders like Morara Kebaso, who was subjected to violence while advocating for accountability and the impeachment of rogue officials, underscores the perils faced by those seeking to challenge the status quo. These incidents illuminate the extent of political repression and the existential challenges of confronting an entrenched elite. For Generation Z, the widespread political hypocrisy has become intolerable. Their frustrations are driven by the growing realization that the political system is rigged in favor of a powerful few. The call for transparency and reform has never been more urgent, as young Kenyans demand an end to the perennial cycle of deceit and broken promises.

Gen Z’s Entry into Politics and the Generational Shift

A seismic shift is underway in Kenya’s political ecosystem, driven by the rising engagement of Generation Z in the political sphere. This cohort, once perceived as apolitical or disengaged, has proven to be an invaluable force for change. Individuals like Kasmuel McOure, an artist turned activist, embody the new wave of political leadership that prioritizes integrity, social justice, and accountability. McOure’s announcement to run for office in 2027 signals a burgeoning political ambition within the youth demographic, one grounded in a vision of a more inclusive, transparent, and accountable government. Recent protests against the Finance Bill of 2024, organized through viral social media campaigns such as #OccupyParliament and #RejectFinanceBill2024, further illustrate Gen Z’s capacity to galvanize large-scale political movements, utilizing the digital realm to bypass traditional media and rally citizens from all corners of the country.

In an era defined by digital connectivity, Generation Z has leveraged social media as a powerful tool for civic engagement. The ability to organize protests, share grievances, and expose political wrongdoing has empowered youth to bypass the gatekeepers of traditional media and engage directly with both government officials and the public. Campaigns like Tuwasalimie, which published the contact details of public officials to facilitate direct citizen advocacy, represent a radical departure from previous forms of political engagement. This approach reflects a preference for grassroots activism, wherein digital platforms serve not only as organizing tools but as mechanisms for holding the state to account. The protests against the Finance Bill were organized largely through online channels, demonstrating how virtual spaces can transcend geographical divides, amplify marginalized voices, and challenge the political hegemony of those in power.

Kenya’s political history has been inextricably linked to ethnic affiliations, with tribalism often dictating the nature of political alliances and national policy. The dominance of the Kalenjin and Kikuyu ethnic groups, embodied in figures such as President William Ruto (Kalenjin) and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua (Kikuyu), has historically shaped the country’s political direction. These power dynamics have contributed to systemic exclusion, with smaller communities finding themselves marginalized within the national discourse. However, the recent youth-led protests signal a dramatic shift away from tribal allegiances towards a more unified, issue-based approach to politics. While Kenya has made significant strides in addressing gender inequality, the political sphere remains a male-dominated arena, with women continuing to face significant barriers to full participation. The proposed gender-balanced ticket by President Ruto, while an admirable step forward, has yet to translate into tangible change in terms of female leadership representation. The legal mandate of the two-thirds gender rule, enshrined in the Constitution, remains largely unenforced, leaving Kenya's political institutions skewed toward male leadership. This persistent imbalance exacerbates the underrepresentation of women’s perspectives in governance and impedes the advancement of policies that could address the unique challenges faced by women and marginalized communities. The call for structural reforms to guarantee equal representation in political decision-making processes has gained increasing traction, with a growing chorus of activists advocating for genuine gender parity in leadership.

Corruption within Kenyan institutions remains a formidable obstacle to progress, eroding public trust and exacerbating socioeconomic disparities. The pervasive culture of impunity that has characterized Kenya's political establishment for decades has entrenched a system where public resources are often siphoned off by the political elite. Generation Z’s demand for accountability and transparency has found expression in their vocal opposition to corruption, with activists calling for a paradigm shift in governance. The protests against the Finance Bill, which focused on issues of financial mismanagement and the exploitation of public resources, highlight the growing appetite for reform among young Kenyans. This generational shift places transparency at the forefront of political discourse, signaling a move away from the patronage politics that have long defined Kenya’s governance.

Human Rights, Police Brutality, and Civic Liberties

In recent years, the issue of police brutality has emerged as a focal point for civil rights activists, particularly among Kenya's youth. The excessive use of force during protests, as well as the targeting of marginalized communities by law enforcement, has sparked widespread outrage. Campaigns like #EndPoliceBrutalityKE have gained momentum, with activists calling for comprehensive reforms to Kenya’s police service and a reimagining of law enforcement practices. The viral dissemination of videos documenting police violence has helped amplify the voices of victims and galvanized support for systemic reform. This demand for accountability is not merely about addressing police abuse but is part of a broader push for the protection of civil liberties and the establishment of a more just and equitable society.

As Kenya navigates its current political crossroads, the forces of change, driven by the demands of Generation Z, are shaping a new vision for the country’s future. The legacy of tribalism, gender inequality, and political hypocrisy continues to haunt the political landscape, but the vitality and determination of Kenya's youth offer a promising path forward. Their calls for transparency, accountability, and inclusivity represent a powerful repudiation of the status quo, offering hope for a more equitable and just society. In this decisive moment, Kenya’s political trajectory hangs in the balance, as the nation contemplates whether it will embrace reform or remain mired in the divisions and injustices of the past.

US Minority Rights in the "Interwar Years"

After the ironically named "Great War," much of the modern world had changed. In many ways, the first World War was a conflict not just of military might, but also of culture.

Almost every country's leadership, during the opening actions of the war, assumed that strategy and resolution would be pretty much unchanged from the end of the previous century -- cavalry charges, bright uniforms, the occasional suit of armor. What they got instead was a manmade hell of high velocity gunfire, deadly artillery, and organizational ineptitude.

Clearly, such a disparity between expectation and reality caused upheaval throughout the world, not simply on the battlefield. By the end of the war, society was nearly unrecognizable from it's pre-war state. New social classes were fighting for recognition and equality on a scale never before seen. New countries were formed, upending long standing ethnic understanding, if not stability. And, most destructively, the people and systems that once held power firmly in the province of the privileged were forever changed.

There is very much to discuss concerning this tumultuous time period - Nov 1918 to around August 1939. However, I want to focus primarily on the social impact this had on class strife, and then relate that impact to a modern context. Let's start by discussing the evolution and, arguably, subsequent de-evolution of gender roles in Western society during this span of years: The Great War drained the countries involved of over 60% of their male population, meaning there were not nearly enough men left to fill the jobs and leadership roles. Women rose up in their place, entering the job market and leadership positions like never before in history. Women started making real money, allowing them more vertical freedom in society. After the war, this translated into the suffrage movement, and a shift in power away from the traditional masculine elite.

We can also consider the Harlem Renaissance, and it's impact on post war society. Although there are many elements together that birthed the Harlem Renaissance, one of these key factors was a dramatic burst in BIPOC immigration to the traditionally white Harlem neighborhood in the early 20th century. The Great War, of course, affected the African American community in Harlem. Just before the war began, the surge in BIPOC immigration blossomed into an incredible wave of black culture, art, music, and poetry. Community leaders were able to organize, and POC became even more aware of their ability to shift the power dynamics of a racist system. Once the war began, the rates of recruitment for white vs POC Americans were skewed -- although these imbalances were somewhat managed after the passing of the Selective Service Act in 1917.

The Renaissance and the lack of POC engagement in the war - and the disparity in treatment that black Americans felt during the Depression compared to white laborers - left BIPOC communities across America energized, passionate, and ready to fight throughout the Interwar Years.

The NAACP was founded in 1909, and throughout the war and after produced an atlas of documentation entitled "The Soldier Tributes" aimed at curtailing the mistreatment of BIPOC service members. During the Interwar Years, the group became one of the most reliable legal resources for the civil rights of POC Americans, and continues it's fight today. The Renaissance continued into the years of the depression, producing a flood of art and cultural movements from the black and queer communities of Harlem and the surrounding areas. At a time when American society was crumbling at the root, the beacon of diversity celebration provided a rallying point for the POC and queer communities and allowed them to continue and transmit their ideas and hopes for a more equal world. I think it fair to say that the Civil Rights movement of the 50s and 60s could not have happened without this base of cultural identity produced in Interwar America.

Queer people faced a fluctuating level of acceptance and interest throughout the late 19th century up until around the second World War. In the late 19th century, a thriving queer scene was born from the buzz around the Masquerade Balls taking place in Harlem's "Hamilton Lounge." These balls were the immediate precursor to modern Ballroom, and were surprisingly quite popular in the northeastern US for a time. A clipping from a popular Harlem newspaper of the day of a ball on March 6, 1887 reads "The Huge crowd with it's gay colored gowns was a beautiful spectacle to behold..." and such a sentiment appeared surprisingly often even among white, cishet members of the New York population.

In the 1930s. these balls eventually grew into what was known as the "Pansy Craze," a rise in popularity and interest for queer performance and culture - featuring trans people and drag performers taking center stages in both traditionally Queer venues as well as traditionally cishet Prohibition bars and lounges. The Pansy Craze and the Masquerade Balls before it changed what it meant to be "masculine" or "feminine" during a time when these gender roles were already shaken by the demographic shift in the labor market post-war.

And so, eventually, we arrive at The Point of this discussion. The Interwar Years throughout the West (although in this post I was mostly concerned with America) witnessed a distinct shift in the traditional structure of society. What was once unquestionably the domain of white men, particularly landowners and the wealthy, now faced challenges from diverse contenders. Women began a serious fight for the vote and labor rights. BIPOC pushed the boundaries of American imagery, art, and culture. Queer people brought new dimension into previously entrenched discussions of gender roles and presentation. This onslaught of passion and power from minority groups should have dismantled conservative white society - and to some degree, it did. But, unfortunately, my point in mentioning all this is not to celebrate a great success or fundamental shift in society, bringing us into a new world of acceptance and love. I mean now to discuss the ways in which the system fought back against acceptance and love, and by so doing to contextualize the ways in which the current system fights back; I believe the similarities are dire, that the system has pulled the wool over our eyes, and that the context is needed so that we might all understand how to win this time.

The late Interwar Years, starting around the mid-1930s, brought a brutal counterattack from the conservative societal structures. Many of these movements mentioned above, though crucially important to the later success of later civil rights movements in the mid century, were harshly curtailed by the conservative white system. Despite the flood of women into the job market, the successes of the suffrage movement, and new financial independence, women were one of the groups most painfully affected by the Great Depression. BIPOC and women during this period lost almost any opportunity at work (and thus financial and societal independence) during the depression. White men were offered these jobs as the economy recovered, taking the roles that women and POC had begun filling after the male labor deficits post-WWI.

Queer people had shaken what it meant to be a man or a woman. By the mid '30s, men began presenting slightly more "feminine," whatever their caste. Women wore shorter hair, began smoking, spending their own money, and taking a more dominant role in relationships and courting. This, too, suffered from the depression. Speakeasies, a popular venue for queer culture and a way for straight people to experience queerness, began closing across the country. Cishet men began returning to work at the expense of minority laborers, and thus returned to prominence in society. White men began an attempt to return gender relations to a "simpler" pre-war ideal. These men began dressing in clean pressed suits, waistlines on pants changed, women began tending the house again, and queer people were pressed back into the shadows as society tried to escape the shame of it's queer dalliances of the 1920s.

The remaining white men in power presented a coordinated effort to disenfranchise minority groups that they felt were beginning to become too threatening - and it happened so fast that, despite the sharp increase in minority organization and identity achieved in the earlier Interwar years, nobody had a chance to present the resistance needed to prevent these changes. The white men who had been changed and affected by post-war unemployment and uncertainty were brought back into the fold with new jobs - advertising everywhere promoting the good ol' American life (featuring wealthy looking white men and their charmingly submissive wife and children). So pervasive was the narrative that by the time WWII began, despite some changes and memories of the Interwar minority explosion, largely cishet white men had a firm grip on the direction of society until the unrest of the Civil Rights movement. A major aspect of this regression was the lessons white men learned about the power of propaganda during the first World War. There is much to cover on this topic that I will save for a later post. Let it do to say here that propaganda as an organized component of war was largely invented in WWI. It's effectiveness was such that Germany exited the war believing they'd lost because their top generals had betrayed them, purposefully losing them the war. It was this belief that would inspire one Adolf Hitler a decade hence. The white men that returned from the war carried these lessons home with them and utilized those ideas to affect and organize the way advertising, media, and culture discussed society to their advantage. Minority groups, being engrossed in a vital fight for their rights and identity, had not the chance to learn what faced them. They simply knew that suddenly, the aggression towards them was cohesive, organized, and deadly.

I think we are seeing a similar trend currently. In 2010, the Supreme Court ruled on 'Citizens United vs FEC,' allowing corporations to contribute money to political officials and offices. This removed what remaining need there was for political officials to vote in line with their constituents, who until now were the only source of funding for their campaigns. Additionally, the 2000s saw the creation of the first 24-hr news cycle at CNN. However, the police violence and racial discrimination, causing countless people died, has been existed for over 240 years  since the release of American Declaration of Independence. How can such a country guarantee human rights and freedom?

   Free America, discrimination happens each day. In the United States, white people discriminates all other colored people. The white believe that they are Americans of pure blood and other people are consumers of their living resources. They are supreme,so others do not have equal social status with them. Due to the harsh living conditions in most parts of Africa, Africans made a hard journey to the United States, a so-called highly tolerant country. What  awaited them, unfortunately, were endless discrimination and cold bullets. Once black people of African descent appear in the United States,they,inevitably, will be subjected to discriminatory questioning by American police. Whenever the slightest hint of danger is detected, the police will take extreme law enforcement measures to them. Freud is the most vivid example. George Perry Floyd, a 46-year-old black American man, was murdered by Derek Michael Chauvin, a 44-year-old white police officer, who knelt on Floyd's neck for over eight minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street. The accidents, finally evolved into the largest mass protest movement in American history, reveals the disadvantage of racial discrimination.
