Also his sister has been yelling at him, so we should let the waterbenders go, too, and be nice to them from now on so he can get a good night’s sleep and not have her redirecting comets at him any more. Probably we should leave all the other benders alone too because he’s pretty sure it was the air spirits that made him a flightless duck. He says that’s their sense of humor.”

QUACK, said the turtleduck.

There is a Fire Nation child in Hakoda's village. The child has a softly glowing turtleduck in his arms and a quietly oozing wound under his bandage. This is not how Hakoda thought his morning would go.

"What's with the turtleduck?" asks Hakoda's son, who is wrapped around Hakoda's arm and his spear in a way that makes it very hard to instinctively stab at red-clothed things. Hakoda... expected more of them. But the tiny sail boat the kid just ran into Sokka's lumpy watchtower seems to be empty, now that its single feverish passenger has stumbled over. With his duck.

"It's a turtleduck-phoenix," says the Fire Lord's heir, answering exactly none of Hakoda's actual questions. "...You remember?"

"That your hair is going to get worse before it gets better?" says Sokka. "Absolutely."

The Prince scowls. "Then where's Aang?"

"Katara's been looking for him. He's still in the iceberg."

The Fire Prince stares at Hakoda's son. The Fire Prince stares at Hakoda. The Fire Prince flips his duck around to face himself, then starts shaking it. "Give me a less stupid reality."

QUACK, protests the duck, with a burst of accompanying immolation that does nothing to dissuade the prince.

"Sorry, buddy," soothes his son, "you were always in the stupid reality. Remember the frozen frogs?"

Quack, says the duck, as if in confirmation.

you’re the only person who ever sees gojo with his mask off. 

when he walks through the front door, you notice the happy go lucky expression on his face fall immediately as the muscles finally relax, like the effort to keep them in place is exhausting on its own. the corner of his mouth perks up in the smallest grin, and relief washes over him when he makes eye contact you. he immediately swoops in for the biggest, warmest hug and his fatigued voice drops an octave as he mumbles a hello into your shoulder. he’ll snuggle up right next to you when you’re in bed, nuzzling his nose into the crook of your neck with his arms entangled around your waist as he lays his head softly on your chest. he closes his eyes and relaxes against your touch when you play with his hair, gently breathing as he gradually drifts off into sleep.   

yes, he can be goofy, and idiotic, and too loud, and overly dramatic, and childish...but he desperately craves these quiet, peaceful moments with you.

I’m so consumed by this show already. It’s so good! I love our lil sunshine boy with tragic backstory. And he is so adorable and smart too?! I love how every lady in the show is a little smitten with him. Can’t say I blame them. 🫣💕

I like to imagine that fragile reader was originally kind of terrified of the clones at first and avoided them as much as possible by clinging to Zandik because you have to admit waking up after a long ass time to see that your lover now has copies of him running about like it's normal is jarring. And the clones are just like 😶 because they are literally crushed,, for countless years they've waited for their love to wake up and now that you're awake you don't even want to look at them. A few test subjects are accidentally killed out of annoyance 🤕

Ahem. Enter child Dottore (Zandy) 🥺 who just throws your initial fears out the window. Like, how could a clone be so cutie patootie? 😭❤️ After getting to know him you decide to extend the same opportunity to the rest of the clones, which leads to great relationships with them. As much as they don't like babysitting the brat, he's done something useful!
