I saw a Reaper Cuttlefish today! I was at Sea Life, QLD, and he swam right up to the glass and looked at me while I looked at him! His little w eyes were super cute, and he rippled his colours at me as he bobbed around. I wish cuttlefish were cuddlefish! (Because I want to cuddle them)

reaper cuttlefish are one of my absolute favorite cephs (gloomy octopus being my #1 for anyone that doesn't know) i would love to be able to see one someday!!

there is only one (1) readily available cephalopod for me to see in my state/area, he's a giant pacific octopus and i absolutely love visiting the squishy fella!

Shadowheart took that fucking dog that as of patch 7 is clearly hers, she loves more than anyone else waking up every morning to talk to, whom I'm convinced cuddles with her every night and again you can't take that away from me...that is her fucking dog and is not going with some kid we don't even know, not even our soup child???? While she has her little cottagecore life???? That's perfectly suited to having a dog???

"Final Phase: The Big Reveal, Codenamed 'Number Sixty'!"

Uh, that's not really a codename, but... Eh, whatever. 😊

So, those of you familiar with CrossCode should also be familiar with the young French firebrand known as Emilie Sophie de Belmond, or in the MMORPG CrossWorlds, The Emilienator.

It took me a while to get that pun, believe it or not. ("Emilienator" is a variation of "Eliminator.") 😅

For those not familiar with her, she's a Crossworlds player with a lot of gusto, a strong fist, and a very competitive nature. There's only one thing you need to know about her in order to appreciate this drawing, however -- she's a huge fan of laser bridges!

Of course, who wouldn't be? 😉

With that in mind, I thought it'd be a fun idea to place her in a futuristic city that happens to be full of them! 😁

Oh yeah, there's something I forgot to mention about this drawing -- it's a crossover drawing!

Not something you see every day, is it? 😄

The city in question is Grand Metropolis, the second level in the classic Sonic the Hedgehog game, Sonic Heroes!

(Dang, Sonic Heroes is a classic now? I'm gettin' old.)

I didn't come up with any specifics for how Emilie ended up in the Sonic universe, but if she did, I have no doubt this city is the first place she'd visit. It's not just filled with laser bridges, after all -- it's filled with laser bridges that work as moving sidewalks! Who could ask for anything better than that?

The fancy details Grand Metropolis boasts made it take an unfortunately long time to draw (and believe me, I cut out quite a few of the smaller details), but I'd say it was worth it. We now have on paper a shining futuristic city with three iconic Sonic characters and one of the most delightful side characters ever made having one awkward rendezvous! 😄

Strangely enough, drawing Sonic and the gang was a little trickier than drawing Emilie, mostly because their body shapes aren't as humanlike as hers. I had to use a couple of pictures to get them to look right:

Emilie's facial expression came from one of her sprites (I call it her "unworried" sprite):

Her body, however, isn't seen very much in the game, so for it I used a fan drawing as a reference, made by Wind Leaf Shadow:

And finally, for the futuristic scenery of Grand Metropolis, I used a couple of screenshots -- one for the laser bridge and one for the numerous buildings in the background:

Once again, there's way more detail in the screenshot than I felt like recreating.

Anyway, thanks for indulging in my silly world collision scenario! That's all this drawing is, to be honest, but it also ended up being a chance to work on perspective and shading, so I'd say it was worth the effort! That being said, I'll try to make it a little easier on myself in the future so y'all won't have to wait so much longer for the next drawing. 😏

Finally watching season 2 of squid game, and my favorite part so far is how they immediately put the tracking device directly on/in the still bleeding cavity where his tooth just was.

Perfect plan. He totally won't die from an infection in a week or anything.

I don't know about you, but I need a little joy right now. Earlier this month, I was walking down the street in my neighborhood and I came upon this:

I was like "Wow. Ok. Yes I AM picking that up." I couldn't resist! What an enticing strategy!

I had to try it myself.

After kicking the idea around with a few friends, I landed on "Horseshoe Crab is calling", and we updated to the modern iOS. Maybe i should have kept the green and red, I'm not sure.

Who the hell wouldn't be intrigued by this?!

(P.S. shout out to Basic Barbie, another street artist in the city who is unapologetically femme in a predominantly male scene. We love Basic Barbie.)
