comfort movie: ughhh definitely mamma mia😭 that movie is a core memory for me, i watch it every summer with my mom. the fifth element, the resident evil movies (aka the alice chronicles), scream (the first 2), harley quinn and the birds of prey & the breakfast club are also up there <3

comfort book: i don’t really read novels, i do, however, read comics. the farscape comics, the uncharted comics, harley quinn comics, green arrow comics & john constantine comics are where it’s at for me. there’s this one zatanna and black canary comic tho that is so 👌 PEAK CONTENT

comfort food: okay so, i have a story. this one time, i was home alone, watching harley quinn and the birds of prey, drinking a dunkin donuts vanilla iced latte and nomming on a chocolate donut. it was a summer night, there was a nice breeze through the window and i was in the basement. just chilling. and then it hit me. “holy shit, we are moving out of this house in a week.” that was my childhood home. i knew i was moving, but for some reason it really hit me that day. so, when the weather is just right in the summer, it reminds me of that moment. it doesn’t make me sad or anything, just reminds me of 18 years in that house and all of a sudden i want that specific iced latte and donut. that’s also probably why birds of prey is a comfort movie for me. another comfort food is sushi, but there’s no story to that one.

comfort clothes: flannels, something about them are so comforting. my favorite hoodies. y’all i have had this everybody hoodie since high school and i don’t even like logic, but idk i’m so attached to that hoodie💀 my other favorite hoodie is my scream one. i also have these, like, plaid pajama bottoms that have become my favorite thing to wear when i’m just reading or playing video games.

comfort game: ughhhhhh guys there’s to manyyyy. tes: v skyrim is such a comforting game for me, like, that game got me through some stuff and i’ll be getting a tattoo for it very soon. then there’s dragon age, specifically dao & da2 tho i hold these games so close to my heart. and i can’t forget uncharted, lost legacy and among thieves i hold very dear to me❤️

(this is a bonus) comfort show: y’all already know my comfort show me are farscape and stargate, i can go on forever about themmmm. there also another one i hold close to my heart, which futurama. As you can see, i’m a big fan of scifi :)

i want to read Fontana's WW rebirth run, but i've noticed recurring in her run is a conflict between diana's femininity and being a warrior, esp w the doll thing and baby diana, and that seems like an issue to me that the amazons shouldn't have, as an island.. full of female warriors? how does a society like that come to the conclusion that a baby girl can't have a doll and that "girl" somehow negates "warrior," again...when they're ALL women and half are warriors. thoughts? suggestions?

Your question is totally legit. How is nurturing a doll in conflict with martial training, exactly? Hippolyta didn’t think it was until two drunk Amazons criticized her parenting style (maybe some remaining hang-ups from their previous lives in Man’s World?). She pulls aside her boo to vent a little, and Phillipus gently reminds her that doll ≠ weakness.

(The only weakness here is Hippolyta doubting herself, womp.) When I read this issue, especially the above panels, I thought to myself, “Wow, what a great theme for this story arc! Wonder Woman is going to learn that strength exists in many forms, not just the physical! How wonderfully MARSTON!”

But this tantalizing story possibility is promptly dropped in the next issue, never to be addressed again after this wholly unsatisfying panel: 

Like, am I supposed to *imagine* this heroic journey of self-discovery and acceptance that Diana went on behind the scenes? Not cool! This is my main criticism of this arc, honestly. Fontana has amazing idea after idea, and she’s teasing all of them, but six issues are just not enough for her to flesh them out. 

That being said, please don’t deprive yourself of a really great Wonder Woman story by someone who knows and loves the character! Even though I’m still left hanging by the what-could-have-been of this unfinished #femininestrength theme, I am still genuinely enjoying this comic book right now. Hope this helps!

hi! i’ve never done these before, but the lovely @eriimeri has tagged me several times and though this week is not one of them, i want to acknowledge it bc i appreciate it and im sorry i kept forgetting :sob: thank u kei! so here’s an exerpt of something im currently working on before i tackle my last chapter of hifr <3 

“You have a summons,” Kakashi said lightly, peeking into the room. “Naruto would like to see you within the next hour.”

Before either of them had the chance to ask about the why, Kakashi was gone, the door was shut, and the silence remained.

“What do you think it’s about?” Shikamaru looked across the orderly piles of paper, of pens and folders and binders, and watched as Neji’s eyes returned from the door to him.

“I have a new training regime and work study to approve,” Neji offered, adjusting the pen in hand and once more setting out to finishing his paperwork. “You have new requests from the diplomatic committee for updated policy -- perhaps it’s a metaphorical two birds, one stone.”

Shikamaru shrugged. “You’re not more curious?”

“I certainly am. But these reports won’t suddenly complete themselves, will they?
