How It is Created: Moonstone is a type of feldspar composed of potassium aluminum silicate. It can be found in a number of colors, but all examples demonstrate a particular sheen known as labradorescence; an effect also found in labradorite and blue moonstone. Labradorescence is a light effect caused by parallel hairlike structures laid down within the crystal matrix, which reflect light back and forth, creating different-colored effects, including blue, yellow, silvery gray, and white.
History: Moonstone is the sacred stone of India. During the earliest traditions, the gem was said to have been embedded in the forehead of Ganesh, the four-handed god of the moon, since the beginning of time. It was written in Hindu mythology that moonstone is made from moonbeams, thus its luster.
The magnificent gem is never displayed outside for sale unless placed on a yellow cloth, as yellow is a sacred color. According to other legends, Moonstone can give gifts of prophecy and clairvoyance to the wearer. It could also clear the mind for the wearer to welcome wisdom. But to unlock this ability, Moonstone must be placed in their mouths during the full moon. Since ancient Egypt it is considered as a spiritual stone as it is seen as the gem of protection for night travelers.
Since Moonstone looks a lot like the moonshine, ancient Romans believed that it was formed from moonlight. If you look at the gem closely, you’ll see a dance of light that lurks on the insides of the gem. Ancient Greeks merged the names of the goddess of love (Aphrodite) and the goddess of the moon (Selene) and christened Moonstone as “Aphroselene”. While the Romans believed that the gem exhibits the image of their moon goddess, Diana.
It is also known as an aphrodisiac and when worn by two people, they will fall passionately in love when the moon is high. Moonstone was once called the “Travelers Stone” as it is said to protect those who travel at night, especially at sea.
What It Can Do:
When worn, can attract true love and arouse passion
If you give your lover a moonstone during the full moon, there will be passion between you always
Can settle disagreements and return things to peaceful status
Sewn into garments can enhance fertility
Wearing moonstone protects sensitive emotions
Enhances divination, prophetic dreams and prevents nightmares
Great for meditation and scrying
Represents yin and attracts peaceful energy
Protects travelers at night and by sea
Considered good luck
Balances male-female energies and aids men who want to get in touch with their feminine side
Affects the female reproductive cycle and alleviates menstrual-related diseases and tensions
Helps with digestive and reproductive systems, assimilates nutrients, eliminates toxins and fluid retention, and alleviates degenerative conditions of the skin, hair, eyes and fleshy organs such as the liver and pancreas.
How to Get the Best Out Of: Wear as a ring or place on the appropriate body part, would recommend the forehead, for spiritual experiences, and solar plexus or heart for emotions. Women may need to remove Moonstone at full moon.
How to Cleanse and Charge: Moonstone is relatively soft stone, 6 on the Mohs scale, so it should be handled with care as it can be easily scratched or crushed. Moonstone should be stored separate from other jewelry in its own soft bag or lined box and should not be worn while performing strenuous tasks that could result in it getting bumped or scratched. It can be cleaned with plain water and a soft cloth. If it gets scratched, take it to a jeweler to have it polished out.
Charge your moonstone in the light of the waxing moon and keep it out of direct sunlight.
Crystal Grid: N/A Couldn't find one that wasn't too complex @_@

Gardenia
The gardenia (genus) is a flower that symbolizes purity and gentleness. However, this symbolism often depends on the color of the gardenia. For example, the white gardenia best fits this meaning. Another symbol of the gardenia is secret love between two people and also joy. Finally, we must note that the gardenia symbolizes everything related to the spiritual world, especially pure attraction. It’s a mystical flower associated with the power of attraction and positive energy.
Amazing facts about gardenia flower
Gardenia is a genus of flowering plants in the coffee family, Rubiaceae, native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, Madagascar and Pacific Islands, and Australia.
The genus was named by Carl Linnaeus and John Ellis after Alexander Garden (1730–1791),
Cultivation :
Gardenia jasminoides is cultivated as a house plant. This species can be difficult to grow because it originated in warm humid tropical areas. It demands high humidity to thrive, and bright (not direct) light. at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight through a sunny window. Make sure your Gardenia soil is moist and well-drained. Gardenias need at least 1 inch of rain (or equivalent watering) each week. Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides) is also known as cape jasmine and is an evergreen shrub that typically grows to a height of 3 to 8 feet, depending upon the cultivar. Spread is usually about the same as the height. The foliage of well-fed shrubs is glossy, dark-green, 2- to 4-inches long and half as wide. Flowering is from about mid-spring to mid-summer, and many species are strongly scented.
Description :
Gardenias are evergreen shrubs and small trees growing to 1–15 metres (3.3–49.2 ft) tall. The leaves are opposite or in whorls of three or four, 5–50 centimetres (2.0–19.7 in) long and 3–25 centimetres (1.2–9.8 in) broad, dark green and glossy with a leathery texture.
Scent of gardenia:
gardenia smells more feminine than jasmine, creamier than ylang ylang, and lighter than tuberose. Interestingly, the gardenia flower is capable of changing scents throughout the day.Their long lasting, fragrant white flowers bloom from late spring to fall.
History of :
In France, gardenias are the flower traditionally worn by men as boutonnière when in evening dress. In The Age of Innocence, Edith Wharton suggests it was customary for upper-class men from New York City to wear a gardenia in their buttonhole during the Gilded Age.
In Tiki culture, "Donn Beach", aka Don the Beachcomber, frequently wore a fresh lei of gardenias almost every day at his Tiki bars, allegedly spending $7,800 for flowers over the course of four years in 1938. He named one of his drinks the Mystery Gardenia cocktail. Trader Vic frequently used the gardenia as a flower garnish in his Tiki drinks, such as in the Scorpion and Outrigger Tiara cocktails.
main features of the gardenia:
The gardenia has large, lush leaves.
There are many varieties of this plant species.
Gardenias are originally from Asia.
Meaning behind white gardenia :
the white gardenia stands out because it has the greatest symbolism. The white color of its petals symbolizes the purity of a loved one, the purity of a relationship, etc. Gardenias in this color convey peace and harmony
Meaning behind red gardenia:
The red gardenia symbolizes the secret love between two people. Like red roses, red gardenias are also a symbol of passion and love, but associated with secrecy. Usually the gift of red gardenias is a silent way of saying “I love you.” Red gardenias convey several feelings, not just love, towards a person. They also show: admiration, respect, Red Gardenia flower meaning- Affection for deep love and promises is all we need in life. The Red Gardenia symbolizes love at first sight. etc.
Yellow Gardenia flower meaning- How about having a sweet memory of someone unconsciously? The Yellow gardenias flowers symbolize dreams.
Orange Gardenia flower meaning- Every person deserves someone who can be there every time. The Orange gardenia flowers symbolize hope.
Pink Gardenia flowers meaning- What’s better than giving a fresh start in any relationship? Pink gardenia flowers symbolize beauty and renewal.

the zemeni, their beliefs about grisha abilities, and relations to religion & belief
said that i would do this post a bit ago, so here we go. now, several things before i go into it: this is all headcannoned and lore i made myself rather than anything supported in canon, as Ieigh bardugo has offered... pretty much nothing on zemeni culture, so! again, this is primarily for my blog and how i understand it, but keep this in mind for whenever talking about (my) jesper's culture. onward we go!
to start: we know very little of the zemeni culture in canon (unfortunately). the very little we know is that grisha are seen as blessed (and the word for grisha translates as 'the blessed'), and novyi zem is one of the few places available for grisha to hide safely for their lives. they do have teachings for their abilities off to the west, and they don't believe in grisha orders like the ravkans and the rest of the world does.
the terminology of the word 'blessed' as connotations. one, it obviously indicates a positive image of zowa. even in ravka, one of the countries most well-known for their employment and treatment of grisha, they're not exactly the same way. instead, the grisha are named after one of the first grisha saints, gregori.
a lot of the older ravkan saints are tales of grisha who were brutalized, such as gregori himself (mauled to death by bears). the ravkan legends tend to commentate them for all of the things they could do, uplifting them to a pedestal rather than ridiculing them or making them out to be monsters. in the books, it's also implied that saints are not shared from country to country -- inej has her own (suli) saints, and colm has his (kaelish) saints. they likely have their own tales and beliefs.
however, the usage of the word 'blessed' by the zemeni implies that they believe that this power comes from a higher power. it implies that fate had a hand in 'blessing' someone and gifting them this power. leoni's father says --
"leoni is zowa. she has the gift too."
the way that this is phrased implies again that the zemeni believe grisha/zowa power to be a gift from someone. aditi also says that "if my gifts can help people, then it's my duty to use them", perhaps implying a (mayhaps personal or moral-related) understanding of these gifts and using them in such a way to help others. in short: in my understanding, the zemeni view zowa power as a gift from a higher power, specifically given to aid others the best they can.
however, with the zemeni seemingly lacking in saints, now it becomes a question of exactly what this higher power is. in siege and storm, alina hears from mal that the zemeni have a god of work that they pray to (also curiously enough, capitalized as God of Work but I have no coherent thoughts on that). the god of work is not given a name, and we can assume that mal wouldn't know the zemeni names. (sort of like how if you weren't kerch/grounded in kerch culture, you wouldn't exactly know what ghezen would be the god of when someone told you that they'll pray to ghezen. it's not like they say "i'll pray to ghezen, god of commerce")
the way that i interpret this is that the god of work is not one person. it is not someone grounded in history, nor is it one body and one identity. they are just... the god of work, and that's all they are.
this is also where another piece of my personal headcanoned lore comes in. as the zemeni are based in black culture, i believe some elements are inspired by african-american history, as well as other places such as haiti and west africa. for my understanding of zemeni culture, it combines spiritualism as well as animism (as the zemeni are also based on australia, which i will take to mean the aborginal people of australia). in addition, jesper also says that he believes in things such as "ghosts and gnomes", the latter of which i think is a joke but the former i think is a reference to his belief in spirits.
the zemeni seem to be very connected to the land. novyi zem is most well-known for its crops and usage of natural materials. they have shown that they are quite technologically advanced (such as their weaponry and their airships), but purposefully guard these things as their own, as they've had enough of other countries stealing their things and using them without any respect for the ground it came from or anything else in relation to its creation process.
the zemeni believe that their land is inhibited and infused by the spirits of the dead who were buried there, placed back into the earth once they died. (this is also why the zemeni always choose to bury their dead in the earth, especially close to places like trees or rivers) they tend to bury family closest to their own houses as well so the spirits can watch over and see their family. they believe spirits are in nature such as mountains or caves or more.
since the spirits are connected with the land, the zemeni do their best to ensure that its never diseased and in good health. as a reward, the spirits give them good harvest and crop. similarly, they believe that any gifts given to them (so zowa power) is the spirits of the dead looking out for them, giving them something that allows them to help others and the community.
so tldr: in my headcanons, the zemeni belief system in zowa is inherently rooted into their ancestors, believing that the dead of their family have given them gifts.
in relation to jesper, this gets... complicated. leigh wrote him without any connection to his culture. he grew up shuttering off his feelings about his zowa identity and unfortunately grew to think of it as a curse and as a misfortunate rather than the gift that his mother thought it was. for him to think this way is an inherent rejection of his own culture, and jesper has many strides to take before he's in a place where he's content with it -- in the way i write him, he goes back to novyi zem to visit his da, then goes west to meet zowa teachers (one of which knew his mom). it's a frustrating few months, but it's a start of a community, one of the most vital things in zemeni culture, and it's a step forward.

Gemstones in CPC (other than becoming the CPC universe's currency 'money')
..is to becoming engagement ring.. Yup wanna talk about it!
(Also my coping mechanisms as how things happened to these 5 ships so far in the CPC story), as after this I make a long post about Plaid Royals men hahaha :")
Before going deeper, take precaution!
BTW if one's forget, I feel the 'money currency' in CPC
world / universe is 'gems' which kinda inconvenient and too varies but well we get what we could, how to pay like this :
^ unless the economy expert, Prez, decline this motion then I guess the 'money currency' in CPC world is 'gems' and unknown what exactly the stone is but colored as light blue
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Nell's engagement ring from Jolie
Which have close up of the ring, from the colour it could also be light blue diamond or sapphire or aquamarine but I take Sapphire for the chance as it's precious stone that could take color of anything - including the light blue
Sapphire is said to be the wisdom stone, stimulating concentration, enhancing creativity and promoting purity and depth of thought. It is believed to focus and calm the mind as well as remove unwanted thoughts, depression and mental tension. It is known as the stone of new love and commitment and is claimed to be useful in encouraging faithfulness and loyalty. Sapphire is thought to bring peace of mind, serenity and prosperity.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Maria's engagement ring from Blaine
Aquamarine (don't confuse it with Aquamarine Hoshino btw)
Maria ring stone likely a Aquamarine, March’s birthstone, have reputation for protecting one’s well-being. The aquamarine birthstone evokes the colors of the sea. From deep green-blue to light, slightly greenish blue hues, faceted aquamarines are often free from inclusions and as clear as water, symbolizing purity of spirit and soul.
Aquamarine is often used as a "good luck" stone, thought to bring feelings of peace, love, joy and happiness to those who wear it. There is an energizing quality to aquamarine that provides harmony and balance. If you dream of aquamarine, it is said that you will make new friends, and wearing earrings of aquamarine are thought to bring love and affection into your life.
---------------------------------------------------------------Lorena's engagement ring from Lance
Light purple Amethyst
-> The light purple birthstone is often associated with qualities such as peace, tranquility, and balance. It is believed to have a calming effect (could reduce stress level) on the mind and is often used to aid in meditation and spiritual practices. Amethyst is also associated with intuition and spiritual awareness, making it a popular stone for those seeking to connect with their higher selves.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Gwendolyn's engagement ring from Frederick
Peridot
Peridot is a variety of olivine. It is part of the orthorhombic crystal system and has a vitreous luster. Peridot is rich in magnesium and has an iron content that gives the gem its green coloring. The shades of Peridot range from yellow-green to olive green and dark green. The meaning of Peridot is purpose and focus
-> Peridot is a prized gemstone known for its summer spirit, its good-luck vibes, and its uncanny ability to keep you calm and feeling safe no matter what is going on around you.
This gift from the heart of Mother Nature comes with a ton of healing properties. Deep-set calm, good health, restful slumbering, and restoring balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul are just a handful of things you can expect when you say yes to Peridot.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
+ possible engagement ring for Jamie from Leopold
Many people search for the beauty of Pink Diamonds. It's an incredibly rare diamond mostly found in the Argyle Mine of Australia. -> Interesting to know that Argyle irl is a site in Australia that have the diamond in Jamie's color: pink. That ring honestly so pretty, but just let know that diamond is a diamond - a gem based solely on carbon but got prssures to becomed hardened. Diamond is the strongest gem in Moch scale (value=10) and even making an idiom of "diamond cuts diamond" to refers only the strongest that able to fights the fellow strongest.
-> Diamonds are associated with strength, love and health. As we have uncovered, throughout history, diamonds have been worn by leaders or power figures to symbolise strength and invincibility. Diamonds have also been associated with good health and represent long life and good heart health.
Conclusion: So those 5 engagement rings, all speculatives regarding the kind of them gemstones - while 4 indeed real rings in the CPC story while another 1 is speculative based on 'meme' - 1 still canon (NelLie), 1 is uncertain with so many complications (GwenDerick/FredDolyn, 1 is growing (LeoMie) but 2 are ykwim (Blaine/Maria + Lance/Lorena)

We are declaring a climate emergency. Everyone can, in whatever place on Earth they call home. No one needs to wait for politicians any more – we have been waiting for them for decades. What history shows us is that when people lead, governments follow. Our power resides in what we are witnessing. We cannot deny that Great Salt Lake is vanishing before our eyes into a sun-cracked playa of salt and toxic chemicals. Nor can we deny that Lake Mead is reduced to a puddle. In New Mexico a wildfire that began in early April is still burning in late July. Last August, the eye of Hurricane Ida split in two – there was no calm – only 190mph winds ripping towns in the bayous of Louisiana to shreds; and 7m acres in the American west burned in 2021. The future the scientists warned us about is where we live now.
The climate emergency has been declared over and over by Nature and by human suffering and upheaval in response to its catastrophes. The 2,000 individuals who recently died of heat in Portugal and Spain are not here to bear witness, but many of the residents of Jacobabad in Pakistan, where Amnesty International declared the temperatures “unlivable for humans”, are. The heat-warped rails of the British train system, the buckled roads, cry out that this is unprecedented. The estimated billion sea creatures who died on the Pacific north-west’s coast from last summer’s heatwave announced a climate emergency. The heat-devastated populations of southern Asia, the current grain crop failures in China, India, across Europe and the American midwest, the starving in the Horn of Africa because of climate-caused drought, the bleached and dying coral reefs of Australia, the rivers of meltwater gushing from the Greenland ice sheet, the melting permafrost of Siberia and Alaska: all bear witness that this is a climate emergency. So do we. Yet the anxiety we feel, the grief that is ours, pales in comparison to the ferocity of our resolve.
We can choose to live differently and build wiser and more just ways to produce, consume and travel. Our hope lies in our collective actions. A climate emergency means that it’s time for business as usual to halt, for our priorities to shift and to recognize our responsibility to those on the frontlines of the climate crisis. This emergency, which did not begin suddenly and will not end in our lifetimes, nevertheless needs our urgent response. This means doing all we can to stabilize the health of the planet and speed the transition away from fossil fuels. Now. Between the scientists and engineers, philosophers and poets, Indigenous leaders, climate activists and engaged youth, we know what to do and how to do it. We have a multiplicity of tools, we have a kaleidoscopic vision where each of us can offer up the gifts that are ours, and most importantly, we have the spiritual will to change the course of our destiny on fire.
The future needs us. We need each other. At a time when the majority of Americans want to see serious climate action, too many politicians have failed us and undermined those who are trying. We ourselves must respond for those who will be born next week and next decade and next century, who need a planet alive and flourishing in all its exquisite diversity of land and creatures and humans. We have no right to rob them or the young people staring at a chaotic future now of their birthright. We do not represent them, but we can represent ourselves, as people in solidarity with all life. In that spirit, we join those around the world who have already declared a climate emergency, and we invite everyone to join us.

The Earth is a living being. As such, she has her 7 main chakras where specific energies are concentrated.
1️⃣Root Chakra - Mount Shasta USA
2️⃣Sacral Chakra - Lake Titicaca - between Peru & Bolivia
3️⃣ Solar Plexus Chakra - Uluru & Kata Tjuta - Australia
4️⃣ Heart Chakra - Glastonbury & Shaftesbury - England
5️⃣ Throat Chakra- Great Pyramid of Giza - Egypt, Mount Sinai & Mount of the Olives - Jerusalem
6️⃣ Third Eye Chakra - The Aeon Activation Center - it is believed that this chakra moves 1/12 of the way around Earth at the dawn of every new Age. Last times it was identified as being in the same place as the Heart Chakra and Kuh-e MalekSiah at the triple border of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
7️⃣ Crown Chakra - Mount Kailash , Himalayas- Tibet.
As seen above 👆🏼 these are only the locations of the 7 chakras. There are many other places that hold higher vibrations. We can also consider as sacred places, containing these higher frequencies, the Polar Vortexes (south & north), Sedona (AZ), Hawaii, Mount Fuji in Japan… among others. They are sacred for a reason: they hold very specific frequencies that are healing, can work within us awakening or amplifying certain spiritual gifts that lie dormant inside of us. It is no wonder we feel drawn to these places!
The Male Plumed Serpent and the Female Rainbow Serpent travel across the Earth and through these locations. 🐍🌈✨

Today we celebrate our Venerable Father Porphyrios of Kafsokalyvia. Elder Porphyrios was born in 1906 in Euboea to pious parents. He worked as a shepherd boy when he was eight years old and came across a booklet about Saint John the Hut-Dweller which he read with great difficulty as he was uneducated. Deeply touched by the life of the saint, at twelve years of age, he secretly left for the Holy Mount Athos. Here, he met his spiritual father who guided him until his own repose. After some time, he had to return to Euboea because of illness. Here, at 18 years of age, he met the Archbishop of Sinai, Porphyrios III who beheld the depth of spirituality of the young monk and his already apparent gift of clairvoyance, ordained him a priest at the age of 20. Throughout his life, Saint Porphyrios would spend much time in the world, especially Athens, treating the patients of hospitals through his prayers and wonderworking. He lived to be an exemplary paradigm for asceticism in the world. The saint, however, did not discriminate. He would visit the sick, the healthy, the rich, the poor, the righteous, and the sinners, even preaching Christ at brothels, inviting the prostitutes to venerate the Holy Cross when he went around for house blessings. Sensing the end of his life, he retreated to Mount Athos once again where he stayed in Kafsokalyvia, the same kalyve where he had been tonsured a monk seventy years prior. The Saint reposed in peace, and by his instruction, his body was buried in an unknown location, thus his relics are unavailable for veneration. A pious doctor of the Saint, however, visited Sydney, Australia, and brought with him a vile of a blood sample he had from the elder, and thus our very own country has been sanctified with the presence of the Saint. For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy On My Little Pain by Victoria MacKenzie
In the year of 1413, two women meet for the first time in the city of Norwich.
Margery has left her fourteen children and husband behind to make her journey. Her visions of Christ – which have long alienated her from her family and neighbours, and incurred her husband's abuse – have placed her in danger with the men of the Church, who have begun to hound her as a heretic. Julian, an anchoress, has not left Norwich, nor the cell to which she has been confined, for twenty-three years. She has told no one of her own visions – and knows that time is running out for her to do so. The two women have stories to tell one another. Stories about girlhood, motherhood, sickness, loss, doubt and belief; revelations more the powerful than the world is ready to hear. Their meeting will change everything.
Book page: https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/for-thy-great-pain-have-mercy-on-my-little-pain-9781526647894/
My Review: There's a lot of books about historical witches and their persecution, there's not a lot of fiction books about mystics even if their life wasn't alwasy easy and they were often persecuted. Margery Kempe and Julian of Norwich lived in the same time, they were both mystycs but their life is very different. Julian, the anchoress who wrote a very important book like Revelations of Divine Love that is very different from the average Middle Age theology. An anchoress who lived in a small cell with a cat and a woman to help her Margery the mother of 14 children, the histrionic preacher who was arrested and tried by the Inquisition more than once an travelled to Jerusalem and all over Europe. A women who wrote the first autobiography in English This book is about them and I found it riveting and poignant. The voices of these women sound "real", similar to their voice in their books. It's not a long book but it's one that cause book-hangover as I wanted more, I didn't want to say good bye to these women and their incredible spiritual life. Two women who were able to chose a different life, women with a rich spiritual life and that strange gift call mystycism that mae them able to see what other couldn't see. It's an excellent debut and I strongly recommend it. Many thanks to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ) for this arc, all opinions are mine

The Timeless Benefits of Using Sandalwood Incense Sticks
Sandalwood incense is one of the most famous incense types in the world. It is known for its aromatic qualities and offers many benefits, from spiritual to physical and mental. Aroma lovers like sandalwood incense because of its pleasant fragrance and because it helps them feel calm and peaceful.
In today's blog, we will discuss how adding sandalwood incense to your daily routine can make a world of difference and where you can find the best agarbatti online.
What is sandalwood incense?
Sandalwood (Chandan) incense is made from a tree called the Santalum Genus, also known as Indian Sandalwood. The Santalum tree is generally found in tropical forests or in countries like India, Australia, and Indonesia.
Burning the sandalwood incense stick releases a warm, earthly, and woody aroma that is slightly sweet. Unlike other incense, which has a sharp and overwhelming aroma, sandalwood has a gentle and soothing smell.
History and Origins of Sandalwood Agarbatti
The use of sandalwood can be dated back to 4000 years ago. In ancient India, sandalwood incense, in particular, was widely used in ritual ceremonies and during morning and evening aarti. Apart from being extensively used in temples and ceremonies, sandalwood was also used in Ayurvedic medicine.
Sandalwood was also used as the main product to carve statues of deities in olden times. Even in modern times, a piece of sandalwood is used to make Chandan paste (sandalwood paste) to treat conditions like acne, pimples, and rashes. It can also be used as a skin mask. Sandalwood became the most valuable trade item because of its rich and long-lasting fragrance.
Sandalwood's uses and benefits were first recorded in Hinduism and Buddhism. Buddhists started to incorporate sandalwood into their daily lives and use it in meditation.
Later, sandalwood was spread to other Asian countries, such as China, Japan, Indonesia, etc. Because of its aesthetic and spiritual qualities, it has not taken long to become one of the critical parts of local traditions.
By middle age, sandalwood was also exported to the East and Europe, where Europeans started to use it as perfume. Also, because of its high cost and rarity, sandalwood became a symbol among the elites. Luxurious products like combs, beds, tables, boxes, and mirrors carved using sandalwood were used for gifting royal and affluent families.
Benefits of Sandalwood Incense Sticks
Sandalwood incense offers a wide range of benefits that have been cherished for many centuries. Sandalwood incense is primarily known for its soothing aroma. Here are some other benefits of sandalwood incense you could get.
Spiritual benefits of sandalwood incense
Some of the Sandalwood spiritual benefits include: a calming and soothing effect, and also helps in focus. Sandalwood incense is used in the purification and cleansing process. It is believed that burning sandalwood incense could purify the air and help cleanse negative energies. It is also said that sandalwood incense smoke can help connect souls in spiritual realms. Sandalwood incense is also associated with devotion and purity, key pillars of Hinduism.
In many parts of India, sandalwood incense is used in Pooja, temples, special festivals, and ceremonies.
Emotional and mental benefits
The soothing fragrance of Sandalwood helps relieve stress and anxiety, relax the mind and body, and lift the mood. Studies have also shown that being in a room with sandalwood incense can do the same.
Promotes sleep
Sandalwood has healing properties and acts as a natural sedative. When you inhale it, it automatically helps your mind and body relax, which leads to falling asleep. Sandalwood incense is very effective in dealing with insomnia. Its soft, woody fragrance also helps you fall asleep quickly, acting as a signal to your mind to sleep.
It helps with focus and concentration.
Buddhists mainly used sandalwood incense to focus and concentrate. Simply, when you inhale the smoke of Sandalwood, it stimulates your brain and is responsive to focus and memory, which helps you be more focused. Another reason why sandalwood incense is used by many is it can alleviate mental fatigue.
Acts as an air purifier and freshener
Sandalwood is one of the few incense fragrances that can last 2 hours, depending on the size you use. Its pleasant smell also masks the unpleasant aroma.
It boosts immunity and acts as an anti-inflammatory solution.
Since Sandalwood has therapeutic properties, they help boost immunity and reduce inflammation. As we already know, Sandalwood has a calming effect on our mind and body. This could help reduce stress and anxiety, which in turn would lead to a better immunity system. Sandalwood paste also has a practical impact on swelling and skin disease.
Conclusion
From ancient to modern times, sandalwood incense has been and will always remain a timeless classic known for its scent and beneficial effects on the mind and body. Made from a soothing Santalum tree, it not only gives off a pleasant scent but is also beneficial for promoting better sleep.
Furthermore, sandalwood is used in rituals and daily routines. When it is blended with other fragrances like jasmine or cinnamon, it could help you transform your space into a little tranquil haven.
