Digital Monster Entry (DME)

A Dinosaur Digimon that inhabits the green depths of the jungle. It boasts the greatest and strongest powers (Q.E.D) among the dinosaur digimon inhabiting the Digital World, and it is said that it possesses a strength equal to that of Dinorexmon. Due to its extreme belligerence it leads a highly brutal existence, but the latest research has made it clear that it possesses astonishing intelligence. The blades on its back have become its greatest feature, and since they possess excellent defensive and offensive power, if it suffers a direct attack, the attacker is forced to suffer nearly fatal wounds, but it can directly attack with them too, using multiple special attacks with the aforementioned blades, this since they keep growing back in an inexhaustible supply, so don't count on it running out of ammo:

•Shooting the blades on its back all at once, the Sonic Slash Rain.

•Converting the metal accumulated within its body into plasma by superheating it up to 150.000° and then firing it off, this attack is called the Blue Prominence.

One day I was scrolling tumblr and I stumbled across an idea by cloudypinkblink and I wanted to take my own crack at it.

Essentially it’s a swap au where Marcus, Thomas, and Yoshino swap roles with Kouki, Nanami and Ivan. So in this universe The bio hybrids get Digimon partners and our DATS trio become Biohybrids and work for Kurata.

Partner lines

Kouki: Commandramon -> Sealsdramon -> Tankdramon -> Darkdramon

I imagine Kouki in this universe to be ranging from a delinquent or even a small low tier criminal. He’s just the type of guy to constantly get in trouble with the police. Here he is much more willing to help others and he meets his partner Commandramon after saving him from a more intimidating Digimon. However he is still hotheaded and very arrogant, but has high amount of determination. After he evolves Commandramon into Sealsdramon, he gets arrested by DATS members and is allowed to be free if he works for DATS from now on.

Commandramon in this is essentially a goofy but loyal soldier. Similar to how Agumon calls Marcus boss or Aniki, Commandramon would constantly call him Sir or Kouki sir as he views Kouki as his general. At first Kouki wants to use Commandramon to help him but does bond with the military dragon.

Nanami: Floramon -> Woodmon -> Ajatarmon -> Lotusmon

Nanami takes the role of Thomas here. In this universe I imagine her coming from nothing rather then being rich like Thomas is. She’s very hard working and highly values perfection above all else. This pressure of being perfect also extends to her partner with her sometimes being too harsh on her for any errors. She doesn’t get along well with Kouki at first, in fact they are worst then Marcus and Thomas in terms of rivalry at first. But help one another when they bond, With Kouki learning to think before he leaps and Nanami learning to be less hard on herself and others.

Floramon is an extremely shy but very sweet Digimon. She is also very clumsy but tries her best to hide that fact from Nanami. Eventually she will become more confident as the series goes on and Nanami will treat her better. They basically have a Shuji and Lopmon thing going on except it’s a bit less bad, not by much tho, Could be good dark digivolution potential.

Ivan: Gizamon -> Ebidramon -> Anomalocarimon -> Spinomon

Ivan here is the Dad friend of the trio and is honestly the only thing that keeps Nanami and Kouki from killing each other in the beginning, I also like to think whenever they argue Ivan would jokingly refer to them as a “Lovers spat” to which they stop arguing and turn their anger at him. Like in canon, He is very much a family man. He joined DATS as a way to support his family but eventually starts to love the job. He is also the one to meet Kouki like how Yoshino meets Marcus in canon. He’s smarter then in canon, tho he still isn’t that bright. He doesn’t say stuff out loud unless he’s extremely nervous.

Gizamon would be a bit more cynical then his partner. He’s the brain to Ivan’s brawn in this case. While not outwardly friendly to most, he still capable of doing good and hopes to help Ivan with his family matters. His siblings like to play with him a lot and he enjoys it to, but he’ll never admit that tho.

For the lines I decided to lean into the mega sand ignore the armors as I really wanted to use Commandramon. But if you want to include the armors here is some alternative lines involving them.

Kouki: Hawkmon -> Thunderbirmon -> Megadramon -> Darkdramon

Nanami: Wormmon -> Coatlmon -> Arukenimon -> Lotusmon

Ivan: Armadillomon -> Stegomon -> Triceramon -> Spinomon

As for Marcus, Thomas, and Yoshino, They are now working for Kurata. I could see Thomas being Kurata’s second in command and being the first to join. Yoshino would be second to join him and perhaps we could have her try to manipulate Ivan tho I don’t see what purpose that could serve, maybe to cause others not to trust him perhaps. Still working on it.

Marcus would be the third to join, We could have him involved in the story with Kouki as an old friend of the Daimons with Marcus and Kouki having a brotherly bond. After the whole Garudamon debacle, Marcus nearly dies with Kouki saving him by digivolving into Tankdramon. Marcus would find out about his dad and want to go to the digital world to find him but Sarah adamantly refuses due to Marcus nearly dying and not having a Digimon partner. It would then escalate into a much more heated version of the scene with Sarah and Marcus talking about Marcus going into the digital world.

Marcus would then storm out the house and ask Kouki to take him to the digital world. Kouki would refuse out of not wanting to see Marcus getting hurt. This would then have Kurata come to Marcus and manipulate him into becoming a bio hybrid.

As for their bio hybrid forms following the theme of Armor and Mega

Marcus: BioFlamedramon and Biodorbickmon

Thomas: BioKangurumon and BioAnubimon

Yoshino: BioKabukimon and BioCeresmon

I also have other ideas to further this swap concept to make this universe sound more interesting then canon.

Keenan is not becoming a bio hybrid so maybe here we can have Kristy and Keenan swap partners here with Keenan getting Biyomon and Kristy getting Falcomon.

Maybe even swap roles with Kristy becoming a jungle girl further hammering in Sarah’s protection of Marcus. Probably will only swap partners but it could be fun.

Kristy: Pinamon -> Falcomon -> Saberdramon -> Vulturemon

Keenan: Biyomon -> Aquilamon -> Garudamon -> Valkryimon (Maybe have Valdurmon as a burst mode?)

Another reverse idea is how the royal knights are a big thing in data squad and we also have Merukimon who is a member of the Olympus 12. So maybe we could have Sleipmon and Merukimon swap around and have the main final threat be the Olympus 12 rather then the royal knights.

Richard Sampson: Kudamon -> Reppamon -> Kyukimon -> Merukimon

We would also have Homeros over Yggdrasil as Homeros is the creator of the Olympus 12.

Maybe even have Kurata become Titamon perhaps as Belphemon is more of an enemy to the royal knights and him becoming Titamon, the enemy of the Olympus 12 would further cement him being a threat and enemy to the digital world.

And with Yoshino becoming BioCeresmon it could make for some good lore potential, Maybe you could have Ceresmon in the role of Frigimon and kill her off, then have Kurata use her data alongside Yoshino. This could be a pretty interesting and dark.

Tigrex as a Digimon.

Greymon and Brachiomon were basically the main references for this design. And a bit of Spinomon. At some point I thought of including something mechanical in the chest like MetalGreymon but Tigrex is supposed to be a wyvern that still retains it's primitive origins, so I kept the design dinosaur-looking: simple but recognizable, I think. It also crossed my mind to make metal arms and blades on the wings, but Nargacuga would look way better with that.

Hey Felt! Do you have any crazy stories about work? The other day, my spinomon said during a job the union assisted them. A group of numemon overran one of the buildings and the leader was a Numemon X.

When we say we work for a union, we mean an actual worker's union. With things like monthly dues, contracts, and boring meetings Lady has to bribe me to go to. We're registered with a Tamer's Union, but we don't go on missions. Lady says she chose her job because it's simple, I think she hates having fun. Also, good for those Numemon. They should get to keep the base.

Okay so i'm deciding to go a little "divergent" regarding evolution stuff on @detectiveichijouji story, but at the same time I'm STRUGGLING with Iori.

I mean, I want to give the 02 quartet solo-evolines... But Iori's Ankylomon is the ONLY partner digimon I can't figure things out...

Nothing in the current franchise makes sense for Iori's Ankylomon. I say this because the human character is influential to the evoline. One day i'll explain my point about this, but for now i'm running in circles. I don't want to design a new mon just for the usage of a single fic. Sometimes i wish we could get something new for Ankylomon like we got BanchoStingmon...

My latest attempt went with Groundramon → Cannondramon, but it does not feel Iori-like enough?? I remember i had previously something else(can't remember now) and Spinomon as the Final/Mega form...

DiMsection: Gammamon (BE)

As this Dim focuses primarily on the Gammamon-species family, so will we! XD

General Capture Data Overview:

As it is a species-focused Dim, the Gammamon BE Dim mostly consists of digimon within the Gammamon-species family. This family is uniquely varied among both its evolution branches and its origins, and has been the subject of some very interesting research. However, as the Dim also serves to tie into the Digimon Ghost Game (GG) anime, it also includes digimon associated with Gammamon from the series, as well as some additional digimon that fit neither criteria

Ecology in the Digital World:

Most environmental simulations are based on the various AR-Field cyberspaces deployed by the digivices of GG, and this is made clear by the hexagonal patterns that are clearly visible in most of them. However, later stages of the Adventure Mode show these sims as corrupted by the unique digimon occupying them.  

According to the Digimon Encyclopedia,  "Gammamon's evolution is said to be linked to a 'digital signal that came from extragalactic space'."

As such, the high variation in Gammamon’s evolutions, as well as their star-based naming conventions, are likely rooted in this.

Evolution Observations:

Both Bokomon and Gammamon are able to become Sealsdramon, which is notable considering previous capture data on the original Gammamon DiM had included Tankdramon, another D-Brigade digimon.  

Whilst previous capture data had shown the Gammamon-species family to possess four closely related adult variations alongside a unifying perfect form, this updated set revealed 5 new perfect forms. In addition to Canoweissmon, each adult can now develop as follows:

GulusGammamon can become Regulusmon, which has been compared to Megidramon in terms of power. Regulusmon is also the source of the Gulu-Realm Burst (GRB) factor, an infection that causes digimon to go completely feral, though Black Digitron may serve to protect against it. Gulus is the only Gamma-adult unable to become Canoweissmon

BetelGammamon can become Fumamon, a Data-attribute cyborg digimon that is an assassin skilled in the Fuma school of ninja techniques. Fumamon can also come from Sealsdramon, another cyborg-type assassin

WezenGammamon can become Ghilliedhumon, which is interesting for reasons we’ll get to later

KausGammamon, alongside BetelGammamon, can become Zanmetsumon. It also shares a second perfect with Wezen in the form of Bombermon.

Also present as a perfect form is Vamdemon, coming from either Sealsdramon or GulusGammamon. Presumably, Gulus could develop into such a state should a focus not be placed on developing the GRB factor.

In addition, the Gammamon-species family was found to have 2 associated mega forms, and a fusion form as well:

By infusing GRB back into Regulusmon, it will evolve into Arcturusmon, which has been proven by many simulations. Whether it has appeared in the Digital World proper is currently unknown, but if it does so it will likely cause a Digital Hazard & drastically change the environment, which is demonstrated in the simulated ones.

Canoweissmon (as well as Fumamon & Zanmetsumon) can become Siriusmon, a light dragon associated with the Virus Busters, but otherwise fairly unremarkable within that grouping 

The fusion of Siriusmon and Arcturusmon is Proximamon, a theoretical digimon for which most evolution data was kept tightly underwraps due to its ability to completely reshape its environment. It was found in a simulation on a high-speed computing device, so whether it exists in the real Digital World is unknown. Whilst many tamers have access to this digimon via this Dim, it’s become significantly less common due to it’s combat potential being lower than more recent Dim data in terms of abilities, and only a few cases have been recorded of this species going rouge.

Also present as possible mega forms are Kuzuhamon, Cannondramon, & Spinomon, each of with have interesting implications:

Spinomon: Coming from Ghilliedhumon, Spinomon continues to be a form usually rooted in a nature-focused dataset. When coming from Bombermon, however, it seems that the BBs it once deployed may have developed into its own spine-blades. It also seems to be the Virus branch of Canoweissmon’s evolution spectrum

Kuzuhamon: In this case, Kuzuhamon can come from 3 different Virus perfects, with an overlap in that 2 (Vamde & Bomber) both employ familiar-esque units that may develop into their kuda-gitsune. From Zanmetsumon, all I can think of is that the armor and swords used by it seem to be of a samurai-esque style, but I am NOT an expert on that in any capacity.

Cannondramon: The Data path of Canoweissmon’s evo-spectrum, but the truly fascinating aspect comes from the child level Koemon. In Digimon World 3, Koemon’s “natural mega form” was Cannondramon, via a path which developed its sharpshooting skills w/ its slingshot into a stronger ranged capability. In this data-set, Koemon can once again follow this type of path through Wezen & Ghilliedhu into Cannondra! This, combined with Bokomon being able to become the all-rounder BetelGammamon, implies that the Gammamon-species family is so adaptive that it can even change to integrate previous forms residual data in later evolutions!

Conclusion:

The Gammamon-species family is an interesting case in which the adaptability of digimon is pushed to its limit, and a perfect demonstration of how the specific stimuli a digimon is raised under can greatly alter its development. Just saving it here to jot down what path to choose.

My endpoints are Proximamon, all Megas, and specifically Canoweissmon and Regulusmon because favs (might have to do Siriusmon twice if I want to evolve him to Proximamon). The path will need to cover all Digimons on this BEM. Since details on Jogress aren't out yet, I'll have to stick with normal evolution.

Also, due to my mistake, my first Gammamon was injured after losing 4 fights in a row (RNG is against me for some reason) and even though just waiting idly for half an hour will recover his injury, I don't want to push him any further, so his first evolution will be Wezengammamon.

Cannondramon (Completion only): 1. Gammamon > 2. Wezengammamon > 3. Ghilliedhumon > 4. Cannondramon

One bad thing I've realized after trying out battles were that since there's no free battle in the app where you can select easy battle (the auto-matching will just match you with basically anyone with Digimons of any rank), the win rate requirement is a lot harder to achieve. (I think the battles in the app don't count towards the evolution requirement anymore? Might need to recheck.)

Edit Dec 3, 2022: Because many of the adventure mission bosses are Virus type, I'll have to build Siriusmon first. So he'll be the next one after I finished Cannondramon

Episode 32.

Unlike the Nanami-Thoma relationship, Ivan-Yoshino relationship is largely a running gag.

Also, never mind, Nanami is actually alive, she just fainted.

Ivan reveals he is in Kurata's gang for money.

Meanwhile, after Ivan's defeat, Masaru & Ikuto find Kurata's base, but Kouki stops them.

Much like Nanami, Spinomon's data is split from Ivan.

Yoshino finds out Ivan's actual reason was not money for himself, but for his siblings in Moscow.

Kurata's human troops decide to blow up El Doradimon's area.

Episode ends with El Doradimon being forced into the real world.

Ivan's final form Spinomon normally evolves from Jyagamon, and is the final form of Gottsumon, albeit through Tortamon.

WE'VE RAN INTO THE WORST WALL WE COULD'VE RAN INTO

A DEV FOUND IS.

The dev obviously doesn't want to talk, so he just threw his Digimon at us, A SQUAT OF COMMANDRAMON AND FOUR TANKDRAMON.

Since this is an unavoidable fight and we already got caught, I asked Kuzuhamon to retrieve Kuda-Gitsune, but not without doing me a favor before, obviously, playing some battle music, and thus, the battle started.

The Taizoukai Mandala covers our side as Spinomon fires its Blue Prominence and Cannondramon bombards the two Tankdramon in the back with its Grenade Storm, the two Tankdramon in the front are getting handled by Siriusmon, Canoweissmon and Vamdemon, the Cannondramon aren't much of a problem, since Gammamon can easily face them and get rid of their M16 while Growmon finishes the job with its Plasma Blade, it doesn't look like any other digimon may come, so I'm pretty confident on winning this one.

Trying my hand at making full lines for other armor evolutions

Lighdramon is classified as a beast, so I'm not actually sure it's even supposed to look so reptilian. That might just be V-mon shining through a little too well. At any rate, Qinglongmon has a very similar mask and even has the lightning horn, so it's a pretty natural connection. Tyilinmon is a lightning-powered dragon/mammal with a horn, so while it's not the ideal visual match, it's a lot more acceptable than what I just did to Hawkmon.

Armadimon/Sepikmon get Makuramon and KingEtemon because monkey. There aren't exactly that many options for a racial caricature, after all. I guess Gokuwmon would also work in Makuramon's place. But KingEtemon's colors actually play off Armadimon so I do kind of like that.

Patamon/Stegomon get Triceramon and Spinomon. Very simple reasoning in that it's a dinosaur covered in blades. As a happy accident, Spinomon is orange like Patamon too. Digimon Savers even connected Stegomon and Spinomon by making Ivan turn into variants of both of them.

Tailmon/Bitmon is simple. Pink rabbit with blades? Crescemon and Dianamon. Andiramon and Cherubimon Virtue also work.

Wormmon/Togemogumon is a little more complicated. Blastmon plays off it visually even though it's made of diamond and not ice. Then Panjyamon X-Antibody creates an interesting bridge in that it's an ice-themed mammal that's blue and white, and it's also bipedal and wearing a cape. You could also draw something between Panjyamon X's mane and Blastmon's crystals.

Hawkmon needs to end in FrosVelgrmon no matter what, even though Rinkmon is a "blade" one and not "ice" one. I think I've mentioned before how the friendship armors are really all over the place, right? Anyway, I'm not in love with it, but a humanoid with blades on its feet calls Matadrmon to mind and I don't have a better idea. If you squint, Matadrmon kind of plays off Hawkmon's color scheme and wings.

Looking back at the KarnEX video on this subject, he had the same idea for both Sepikmon and Stegomon. He chose RaijiLudomon to bridge Lighdramon and Qinglongmon, and CrysPaledramon to bridge Rinkmon and FrosVelgrmon. His idea for Togemogumon was Frozomon and AncientMegatheriummon which I can see, and he played with Blizzarmon as the perfect level which I did too at first. In fact, while I like what I ended up with, I am a little shocked AncientMegatheriummon didn't even cross my mind. His idea for Bitmon was Kyukimon and Cherubimon, which is fair but I do like the Dianamon line more.

As for the misfits of Thunderbirmon and Kenkimon:

Karn's idea of Loudmon and Heavymetaldramon works great if Impmon is Thunderbirmon's child stage. It has the same mask as Lighdramon and Qinglongmon, but I'm not 100% on what could bridge it with Qinglongmon. And it's boring to have dupes.

LoaderLiomon and HeavyLeomon carry Kenkimon's construction machinery theme. Karn suggested Valvemon and Breakdramon which is very respectable too, especially if you're not a fan of it turning into a Voltron.
