Candy (Pasteltale Sans)

So I redesigned Pasteltale Sans! Of course, his narrative has changed alongside his redesign. Soooooo...

Bio: He's one of Rosey's scouts/children. He has a few siblings (Bubblegum, Cupcake, Rainbow, Pajama, and Studio), which he gets along with alright. He was going to have an AU of his own, but Rosey decided to repurpose him for a scout and son. Around his family, his name is Candy. But for others within the multiverse he scouts, he introduces himself as Pastel Sans. He has a heavy interest for eyes, and collects them.

Powers Axe - He can handle his axe very well. Sometimes he can charge it up for a blast that strikes an enemy and knocks other enemies back away from him. Mimic - He can change his voice to sound like anyone, albeit for short periods of time (around ten minutes). Copy - He mainly uses this ability to find eyes to add to his collection. He can frame an object with his fingers, which will in turn give him his new copy. How long it lasts depends on what he frames. If it's a mortal, then the copy will last only for a little while. But if it's an object with no soul/sentience, then it will last until he destroys it. Cloak - Putting his hoodie up allows him to cloak until he puts his hoodie back down. This allows him to go by undetected if need be. Teleport - He can teleport on command. In worlds that aren't his own, it only works for short distances. Souvenir Eyes - As a last ditch effort, he can throw one of the eyes he has dangling from his axe at enemies. Since all of the eyes are copies, they can be destroyed with no repercussions, and therefore can explode and temporarily cause the enemy to lose sight of Candy.

Miscellaneous Little Facts - He mostly hangs around the Nerd and Jock Undertale AUs, because he has a crush on one of the Paperjams. He won't say which one, though. - He has a total of ten piercings, and he plans on getting more. - His favorite piercing is the coin slot piercing on his left horn. - He calls his axe "Willow" on occasion. - The bite mark on his arm is a battle scar from an AU he visited. - His favorite part of day is when he gets to shower and relax before going to bed. - He has gone on record saying that he hates the ocean because of those "big leviathan fuckers". - He found out he had an allergy to Echo Flower pollen the hard way. - When he watches TV, he tunes in to the Student's Echoes broadcast for Silent and Zommy Bear. - If he ever did ask out the Paperjam he has a crush on, he would probably fumble his words. Horribly. - He hasn't asked them out yet because he doesn't think he has a chance with them. - He snacks upwards to four times a day. - He's based off of the song "LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE" by Six Impala. - He'll take extra time out of his morning on weekends or out of his night for "private time". - He's prone to daydreaming about Goddesses know what. - He mostly listens to hardcore music, such as Gabber, Speedcore, Breakcore, etc. - HE HAS ONE WEAKNESS. ...it's brownies. He can't resist his mother's brownies.

REQUIEM DE LA RUINE I LA MUSIQUE REND-ELLE HEUREUX?

Comme le disait le plus connu de tous les syphilitiques, “sans la musique, la vie serait une erreur.”

Nietzsche, qui était quand même loin d’avoir le Q.I d’un bulot ou la puissance critique d’un Aymeric Caron, malgré tout le respect que l’on peut avoir pour les bulots, Nietzsche disait sûrement vrai.

Il se serait peut-être ravisé s’il avait vécu dans mon ancien appart. “On ne choisit pas ses parents” dit l’adage ? Rassurez-vous, on ne choisit pas ses voisins non plus. Jaouen, 42 ans, mi-homme/mi-punk ravagé, c’était mon voisin du dessus, un ancien traveller de l’âge d’or des technival enfin sédentarisé. Il faisait de la musique, enfin de la musique, entendons-nous! Façon de parler bien sûr, puisqu’on risquait pas de s’entendre dès qu’il s’y mettait. C’est simple, l’année que j’ai passé dans ce chiotte excentré, j’ai cru la passer en plein milieu d’un chantier. 14 heures de rang, tous les jours, dimanche et jours fériés inclus, c’était comme si le mec du dessus avait entrepris la politique des Grands travaux chez lui, soit il coulait une dalle de béton dans son salon, soit il se faisait construire une usine sidérurgique, sinon c’était pas possible d’expliquer ce crin-crin. Une fusillade et des grognements de truies égorgées eurent été franchement plus agréables à l’oreille… pourquoi? parce que son truc à Jaouen, c’était le speedcore. Mais qu’est-ce que c’est que cette merde?

Pour le dire moins wikipediatement, ça ressemble à un long râle atrocement bruyant et répétitif, quelque part entre le marteau-piqueur qui fait une crise d’épilepsie et une rafale discontinue d’AK 47. Mélodiquement, c’est zéro. Rythmiquement, n’en parlons même pas… à 260 battements par minutes, la notion de rythme s’annule elle-même, laissant place à la notion plus appropriée de grosse bouillasse sonore. Niveau ressenti donc, à part développer en vous des tendances schizoïdes et des envies de meurtres avec barbarie, l’écoute de speedcore ne semble définitivement pas être un facteur prépondérant d’épanouissement spirituel. De fait, pour se permettre de répondre à la question “la musique rend-elle heureux?”, il convient de préciser si on parle bien de musique là…

De “il tape sur des bambous…” à “il enclenche un pattern…”

On définit la musique comme “l’art consistant à arranger et à ordonner ou désordonner sons et silences au cours du temps” et le bonheur comme “un état durable de plénitude et de satisfaction“, celui-ci se devant normalement d’être la conséquence de celle-là. Combinées ensemble, la musique et le bonheur, ça s’appelle la mélomanie. Plaisir d’en faire, plaisir d’en écouter… Mais qu’on ne s’y trompe pas! En zone urbaine, le mélomane est un loup pour l’homme, et le bonheur des uns s’arrête souvent là où commence le hobby des autres. “Branchez la guitare! Entonnez le tempo, moi j’accorde ma basse! 1, 2, 3, 4!!”

Pour faire de la musique, il faut des instruments et pour maîtriser un instrument, il faut du travail, de l’assiduité et un peu de talent (sens du rythme, de l’harmonie, de la musicalité). Quand on n’a rien de tout ça et qu’on veut faire l’intéressant, on va s’acheter une machine. Une machine, ça ne se trompe pas, jamais. Sauf si bien sûr le monde sombre dans un chaos thermonucléaire et que l’électricité en vient à être coupé.  Là, c’est “remballez vos machines tas de DJ, terminus, tout le monde descend!” Maîtriser les arpèges ou le maniement de l’archer, c’est quand même autre chose que de pousser des boutons avec l’air possédé. Bien sûr, le débat n’est pas là. Il y a ceux qui “font du son” et puis ceux qui jouent de la musique.

En témoigne la très sérieuse étude de Pierre-Thomas Nicolas Hurtaut datée de 1751, sobrement intitulée “L’art de péter”.

Référons-nous, si vous le voulez bien, au chapitre “les pets sont-ils de la musique?” où l’auteur déclare ceci :

“J’avoue que la musique n’en était pas bien harmonieuse, ni les modulations fort savantes ; qu’il serait même difficile d’imaginer des règles de chant pour un pareil concert. (…) Mais j’ose avancer qu’un habile maître de musique en pourrait tirer un système original digne d’être transmis à la postérité et inscrit dans l’art de la composition. Évidemment, si ce qui sort du sphincter un lendemain de Chili Con Carne peut être considéré comme mélodieux, alors je m’incline, le speedcore est bien de la musique. Mais bon, finalement, au même titre qu’une tentative de défenestration n’est en fait qu’un appel à l’aide, ou qu’un coup de schlass dans l’abdomen au coin de la rue n’est rien d’autre qu’un message à caractère informatif (“T’avais qu’à avoir des clopes sur toi fils de p***!!“), la musique, qu’on le veuille ou non, ne reste ni plus ni moins qu’un énième moyen de communication. Alors, qu’est-ce que mon voisin essayait de me dire après tout ? Qu’il était heureux ? Qu’il chantait la vie à grands coups d’infrabasses et de beats insoutenables? Peut-être bien. De toutes façons, je ne peux m’en prendre qu’à moi-même, si j’avais voulu de la vraie musique, je me serais pris une piaule au-dessus de chez Zaho.
