I live in what I thought was a very safe place. By that I mean, I live in a very casually progressive state. There is a healthy balance of progression and traditionalism. I've never felt unsafe being outwardly queer here. After the election, everything has been flipped upside down. I don't recognize my home anymore.

My partner's mother is a higher-up of a nonprofit org (being a bit vague for privacy reasons). This nonprofit has a branch dedicated to suicide hotlines, and of that branch there's an LGBTQ+ specialist branch. This morning she was stressing because they have to alter the structure of this entire branch. They have to change their questionnaires, their automated messages, their scripts to adjust to Trump's new "only 2 recognized genders" policy. If they don't wholly change this department, they will be denied funding and shut down. They are in the process of potentially becoming required to tell suicidal trans people that there are only two genders. If it continues as it is, it's more than likely they won't even be able to recommend other trans specialists to treat them. The suicide hotline for queer and trans people is actively being modified to become hostile against them, and there is absolutely nothing the workers can do to fight this.

ICE has been seen in my capital city. They're making their way around the state. My best friend's grandmother lives with her and her mother, a generational home. Her grandmother came from elsewhere and rebuilt her family back up from nothing. I have been petrified I'm going to wake up to a call from my best friend crying, screaming that they took her.

These aren't just issues for red states. These aren't problems that strangers are facing. It's in our streets, it's coming right to our homes. I don't want to believe it, but I can't ignore what's breaking down my neighbor's door and charging for mine.

Spark - is also one of my characters. An exaggerated extrovert and a ball of energy constantly thirsty for adventure. In the second image I will leave an approximate reference. But it is possible that there will be changes in the future.

Is there going to be any like, official Spark stuff one day? Like an actual webcomic or book or something? Or will it continue to be little snippets?

As for Spark, I have no idea but I'd love that !! I'd love to work on it more to maybe (idk at all), create a comic one day, but my biggest dream would be to see them animated and to be able to pitch it as a series or a movie to some animation forums, conventions and festivals.

For now I can only afford creating it alone in little works, because I'm finishing my studies and I have no funds or team, but if that was possible some day that would be so so cool

some sketches of Ohm and Spark

first one is their first meeting when Ohm catches Spark on her ship, it was not love at first sight lol

second pic is part of a deal they had after ohm helped her out with techadons, resulting in part of her ship getting wrecked. Spark regularly ends up with way too much mana build up, and so she lets Ohm drain her excess energy and convert it to on ship batteries

last pic is an idea for them adopting a pet, literally ripped kill-a-pillar from Amphibia, unsure if she would be full kill-a-moth though. Her name is Nybble
